In light of tumblr shooting itself in the foot, I've been thinking about what I should do with my art from now on. Obviously, deleting my old posts off here isn't gonna do shit, it's essentially locking my door after my house got emptied out by burglars. Especially with my old rp account I no longer can log into, they're just gonna steal and sell my old art that I posted there and I can't even flip a questionably-affective toggle about it.
Thing is, I dunno how many people are gonna actually leave. I'm not even sure I will, since I have a lot of friends here... And after so many shitty updates a lot of people are just hanging on out of spite at this point.
That said, I'm considering that for art posts and stuff, maybe I'll post them elsewhere and just link to them here so they're not on tumblr's servers? Idk... Tumblr tends to kill the visibility of links but I'm not really sure what else I can do.
Also, there's the question of where to actually post new stuff. Bluesky seems the most active but I dont know if old posts cut off after a certain amount of posts like twitter does, in which case that would not be a good archive in the long run. xnx
Cohost is functionally pretty close to tumblr, but ngl it seems super isolated on there bc of its commitment to not showing any likes on your posts. I get that its to combat the social media numbers game, but the downside is that it looks like nobody's even seen your work. If people like something of yours there's no way outside of notifs to see it, so scrolling down on your page and seeing only zeros after zeros of comments on stuff (comments are the only visible number), it's easy to feel like you're just posting into a void.
Pillowfort is pretty good, and they just added tag blocking and the ability to queue/schedule posts. Still kinda quiet and invite only, but if you sign up for the invite queue you can get one pretty fast. Also i probaby have a ton of invites sitting around if anyone wants one. I wish it had an app, but mobile web version works well enough I guess, and I'm already used to doing that with sheezy and newgrounds, so I just have those open in mobile tabs together.
Speaking of, Newgrounds has been pretty good, but due to the nature of the portal system and stuff you're more encouraged to post only your better-looking stuff there. You CAN post doodles if you want, but only outside of the portal, which limits their visibility. Kinda like dA's scraps system I guess.
Sheezy looks super promising customization-wise so I'm thinking of posting there more when it opens up to more peeps.
Toyhouse also looks really good for OC and story things too, and also has a good degree of customization.
There's probs options I haven't even thought about, but its good to know there ARE options. I may post in several of those places for now and see how it goes. Test the waters a bit.
If you're thinking of moving your art elsewhere lemme know where, I'm curious to see where people are going :o

hey mate. So i read Reset and i was feeling way to much so i decided to track you down to pour all my thoughts on you, even so, idk if you are going to even see this, but hey, it's a way to take it out of my chest.
So, um. I don't know if i finished your fic, or your fic finished me, in the best way possible. I've been here since the game came out, and been in and out the fandom like three times by this point, and this time around i decided to read some fanfic and and, i found yours and- godness. IT'S SO GOOD, IT'S AMAZING, I LOVE IT. The plot, Connor's personality, Hank's too, i adore time travel fix it fanfics and tbh this one is just so perfect, *chef kiss*, i love it, you don't have and idea. I finished reading and came back to re read some loose scenes because i felt empty inside after it, lol. Connor's panic attack at the bridge, he shooting through Amanda's head, Christopher's support (?), everything it was sooooo good. Heck, CONNOR'S BREAKDOWN WAS MY FAVORITE SCENE, I'M NOT KIDDING YOU, I READ IT LIKE 5 TIMES ALREADY, IT HAS SO MUCH FEELINGS ON IT, SO MUCH RAGE, SO MUCH HATRED, DAMN, TBH BEFORE I WAS AT THAT MOMENT I WAS LIKE "I hope Connor says fuck on some moment." THEN THE MOTHERFUCKER SCENE HAPPENED AND I GASPED, AND THEN THE SCENE WITH NOT-HIM, WHEN HE SAID FUCK YOU, I GOT FLIPPED, LMAO. I ADORE WITH HOW MUCH FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS YOU WROTE THAT, I COULD FEEL IT THROUGH MY PHONE'S SCREEN. I WANT TO STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT MOMENT BUT IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE I A D O R E D IT, I L O V E IT. He said Fuck with so much venom i felt so proud. Heck, i'm not used to read Connor with feelings other and anxiety nd ptsd, so seeing him feeling whatever this was, was refreshing as heck and i now hc him with sass. I could even say- you made the character better, and that my friend is not something easy to do, preach, i bow to you, i want to put ur brain in a throne where it belongs.
Anyway- that's it, nothing more, nothing else. I just wanted to say that your fic? Amazing, perfect, tasteful, thanks for the meal, i love it with my whole heart and i will be obssesed with it for the next week, even month, lol. <3

I'm so glad that you're also the kind of person to go back and re-read specific scenes when you finish a fic because I am absolutely that kind of person as well lmao. And I love that the not!connor scene had such an impact on you!! It felt so cathartic to write and I'm so happy that readers feel the same way about it! :D
Also, your ask made me go back to Reset and count up all the times Connor says "fuck" - because I thought it was pretty often, but you're right! He doesn't actually say it very often (out loud, he thinks it way more often). So here's the stats of how many times Connor says "fuck" in Reset if you're curious XD

Getting back on track though, I'm so happy that you loved my version of Connor's personality! I was worried when I started writing this that people wouldn't like or vibe with him, because (as you said) people tend to headcanon him as a lot more anxious, which is also very good, it just didn't fit my fic very well. So hearing that not only did you like him but also that my fic made him feel better to you is SUCH high praise. And that's not even counting all the OTHER high praise in this ask that really did make my whole ass week.

My OC 'Vossler Valentine' (formerly 'Hewley')
Hey all! How is everyone doing? I've actually decided, after almost a year, to post up my OC 'Vossler Lucius Valentine' AKA 'Voss' AKA 'V'
I have been playing him in RP (roleplaying) scenario's, since 2009, and I've decided to share him all with you! He once started out as my own character from FinalFantasy VII (7) and has a lot of backstory behind him. Those who know characters from FF7, may know the character 'Angeal Hewley' and so i wrote him as Angeal's older SOLDIER brother. Over the past couple of years, he has really evolved as a character, and one i've introduced into the MCU, thanks to some amazing creativity between me and my longest friend, Larissa, and other people here on Tumblr. So, with that said, I'd like to introduce him to you here, and just get some general opinion and feedback on him! I will try to keep it brief, but i just love adding detail about all sorts of things on here. My BIG THANKS to my roleplaying friends over this past year! You're all so amazing, and you'd all given so much love to V already!
Vossler Valentine, off you go into the MCU! (AU)
This is loosly tied to the events of the MCU, with a bit of AU thrown in too.
Vossler Valentine, stands at about 5' 8", with long dark brown hair, which is waist length, often braided into a 'fishtail' braid. He has striking green eyes, infused with the powers of his own universe, which stand out against his tanned skin. Today, he has a soft '5 o clock shadow', but most days, he is clean shaven. He has a scar on his face, which starts from the left side of the bridge of his nose, narrowly ending at his jawline. This was from an accident long ago. His age - thirty seven, though when clean shaven, looks more like thirty five. His green eyes tell a story - many stories infact, ones of adventure, pain, love, hurt, but you know what they say 'fortune favours the bold' though this hasn't always been in his favour. His hobbies? A black belt in Taekwondo, reading, sparring drills, doing 'slow side kick exercises', spirituality, mentoring, stoic, yet kind, and firm, easy going.
SO, how did he wind up in the MCU? This part follows next..
THE STORY - SO FAR -
Vossler was called upon from his universe, to the SHIELD agency, with connections to Howard and Maria Stark, and so had met a certain college guy named 'Tony Stark', who at the time was in college, and through college Tony met a young trainee Doctor called 'Steven Strange' who gave Vossler a frosty, jealous attitude as their friendship grew closer, the more Steven was away training to become a doctor. At this moment, Vossler is just over 30.
Vossler quickly became friends with the young Tony Stark, and of course, as things go, friends become something more..friends who develop feels, one curious about the others universe, the other, falling for the charm and tenacity of Howard Stark's son. Friendship soon turns to 'friendship with benefits', and after a few heated hook up's and flings, Vossler is called back to assist SHEILD, and becomes involved further in what would be the death of Peter Parkers parents, as a witness.
It is at this time, that Vossler is entrusted to become the young Parker's guardian and protector, on the basis that the child stays under the further protection of Tony stark, also bereaved of his own parents death. The idea behind this is to give Tony 'something to do' other than party/drink/mayhem lifestyle, according to Voss. Steven Strange returns from training, and the three of them live together, with Voss fading into the background...a silent protector.
Vossler's job, is to do simply that - protect. Protect, Protect, Protect, and signs a contract under Tony Stark, body guarding both Stark, and young Parker.
Feelings re-ignite once more, between Stark and Valentine, under this 'special relationship' that is formed, and Stark continues to be Vossler's boss, giving him access to tech, of which V refuses.
The power play between Stark and Valentine intensifies, particulary after a night of heavy drinking on Stark's part, and Vossler shows up on scene, finding Tony drunk in the office. Things become heated, and Stark and Valentine kiss, which leads to a heated night between them. This goes on for months, the 'special relationship' continues, and Vossler falls in love with Tony. The two eventually call it off just before Vossler's 35th birthday, with Tony gifting Voss a silver 'V' initial necklace, telling him it was a 'gift of friendship'. Voss later, is called back to his universe, leaving behind Peter, and Tony, and Steven, who has been involved in a terrible car accident.
Part two of his story will follow. For now, here is a list of music that inspires me to write Voss.

She's really neutral about it . And I don't think that something will change in your relationships with him (You choose whatever it's platonic/romantic one).
They'll be very curious . And if you 2 got out of Foundation and blew the facility and all SCPs got out . He'll be living with you ! And ask you what would you like to eat . Human or normal food . You choose . It will be pretty easy you know 'cause 035 have charism- control of people mind . No problem bestie/lover !
Like I said they're 50/50 and don't worry once you'll know each other better she won't tell anybody about your secret . I'd say 9/10 .

Ahem . Again you choose how you met .
He's intrigued by your diet of eating humans and food that you usually eat which is not again humans ... And the truth is that his patients/zombies eat humans too . Who would've known that ? Almost everybody . So he thinks that it like normal ... don't ask how . He's pretty strange .
He's okay with it . And never would tell anybody cause you'll be in big trouble for that . And he doesn't want that to happen to his significant other/friend .
Oh and ... if you get hungry at containment breach ... Well ... he can kill for you . Yeah ... He's loyal to him friends . And he don't have many . It's sad(
Welp I think he'll be 9.5/10 .

Oh ... um . You're special ! Yeah ... Don't worry I won't tell anybody about it . I'm just surprised .
When he learned that you are half cannibal ... that's really shocked . Like ... when people eat other humans they get sick/become cannibal . But you're very ... lucky that you didn't become fully a cannibal . So yeah .
Oh and Cain is okay with that . Don't worry . And like with 035 it won't change the relationship with you . And if you 2 live together he would cook human food . He just don't know how to cook human meat or organs . But you can teach him . He'll really try to make a good food .(Welp idk what to write next .)

That's the plus for 2 of you .
Oh nobody won't ask him about you or something about the cannibals . They don't think that he will talk or be interested in it .

Eh if people died and was half eaten . They'll think that it's 682 , 953 or 096. You know why . Not really many people wouldn't suspect you . It really depend on your behavior .

Little things that help me script or pass the time (while also planning).
Pinterest! Making a board of all the images that remind you of your DR can really help. For example, my shifting group was trying to help me find images of what Mana control looks like. (Example: we decided it can range in color depending on the person's personality.) I made a board a while back with individual sections, and of course it was difficult to search "Mana control" and find a good picture, so lo and behold upon going to "related" on my board I found a really nice picture for it. Here it is for anyone curious:
To put it short, any images that strike your fancy can be put into a board and it will find anything relevant. You can also choose to add it to your home feed and it's pretty fun overall. ^^ Sometimes the images themselves help come up with ideas.
Drawing! Yes drawing! You can search drawing poses (for public use) and draw people from your DR as them. A good example is you just got done scripting a nice holiday event, it's really important to you.. so you're obviously going to want to remember your idea of what it was like right? So no more~ it's drawing. You don't have to be good at it, it's just fun to do it. Especially when there are poses like...
So anyway.... it's fun to do so give it a try~
Making a playlist. Yep~ playlist. There are some fun music templates out there like.. "click shuffle and the song is your oc's relationship with __." Those templates can work with your DR self if you are low on ideas or not really sure. Secondly, if you like the songs you added then you can always listen to it as a sign! There's a trend going on around Amino that if you ask a question (with a set intention) and click shuffle then the title or lyrics is the answer. Though if it doesn't seem to add up that's okay! It won't work 100% of the time. And for anyone confused on what you should ask then here are some ideas: how is my DR self doing?, how is my DR s/o?, is there anything my DR self would want to say to me?, what do my DR friends want to say to me?, etc... "
Scripting using a chat app. It's actually easier in my opinion and it saves you from awkward situations.... like accidentally sharing your scripts to someone via text message. I have been asked before, how do you script using a chat app? Well that's easy... and there are many alternatives. I suggest first finding a chat app that you can use and create sections with. Here are some I suggest: Discord, Nuclino, Slite, and Notion! My personal favorite is Nuclino and Discord. I recently had to delete Nuclino because I needed space in my phone but I still have Discord so I can give an example...
You can create what is called a "Category" and then below them are channels. Categories open and close if you tap on them so don't worry about it seeming too cluttered. A category is just a file folder for all the channels that you created. As you can see I have

>My clothes
>Important People
Though you can add whatever you want! Now on to channels...
This is what it will look like. For example you could..

In these text channels you can place your scripts and ideas. Originally, servers (which is what you call this) are for a group of people that you invited to join. Though you don't HAVE to invite people and you can keep it private and to yourself. There's also an option to search messages; So, if you remembered something that you want to see again or edit then it is possible. Keep in mind there's a word limit to how much you have to send at a time. So split it up if possible but yes, there is no limit to how much you can place in a channel. Try it out yourself~
Reading headcanons. Yup~ But here's the thing. It doesn't have to be headcanons about a specific person. The internet, and especially Tumblr, has tons of headcanons for things in general. Not sure what to do about Kitsunes? Or Orcs? Or Elven people? Or just your DR's randomness? Say no more there are headcanons about culture, customs, and abilities. And I mean a lot of them. It can really help spark ideas or get a clue of what to script next.
