You were mostly excited about telling your husband but you two never really got into future kids as it was never really brought up between you two. So you had thought of a plan to tell him and at first you were excited as you met him again during dinner.

He asked why you were afraid only for you to answer about that night at dinner a couple of days ago.

When your crying stopped and breathing steady he explained how whis mother died during birth and how he's afraid that he might lose you. “It’s rather unusual for Nozel to be late for a meeting,”

All of the captains were gathered at the table where we would always have our captain’s meetings. The empty chair next to me was Nozel’s, but he hadn’t arrived yet.

“He’s probably in the bathroom braiding his bangs,” Yami blubbered out, laughing with Jack.

I was never a hot head, but his comment made my blood boil in an instant, not getting any cooler as Jack added:

“Kah, that thing is hideous. How does he even see with that braid in the way?”

Hideous?! Nozel was far from that! I was ready to pick up the empty chair next to me, but instead, I cleared my throat loudly at the two of them.

“Huh?” Simultaneously, they both looked at me, curious about how I had such an attitude beaming their way.

After the night that I became a captain, Nozel and I had gone on a few dates, truly connected and I couldn’t deny the feelings that I had for him, and so, speaking up:

“I don’t appreciate the two of you making fun of Nozel. He’s never late. Maybe something important came up. So, stop talking about him.”

“Aww, look at her sticking up for him. Your crush on Nozel getting stronger huh?”

Jack’s words made my pupils go wide; my cheeks filled with anxious heat.

“A crush? On NOZEL?!” Yami started laughing and Jack nodded, laughing along.

“And how would that be any of your business if I do?! Just shut up and stop talking in general!” I was standing now and fuming, their laughs only making me angrier, but we all stopped when the door slammed shut.

No one even noticed Nozel step in and since he arrived, I quietly sat down and tried to act as if nothing happened.

The only thing I paid attention to was Nozel as he sat next to me at the end of the table, a smirk on his face.

Every single time I looked at him with that little smile on his face, I had to hide my face because of how crazy I smiled back, the fluster still in my face when the meeting began and under the table, he held my hand, soft thumb caressing over mine.

We didn’t speak during the meeting but our eyes did that for us. Just a gaze was all I needed to know from him.

He wanted me to go with him after the meeting. The twinkle in my eye and smile was a simple response and sure enough, everyone left and I made sure to leave last with Nozel behind me.

Walking out of there gave me so much relief like I could finally breathe, and Nozel brought me over to his family’s estate.

He was so caring, bringing me a glass of water as we decided to sit out on the balcony outside his bedroom.

“Are you okay now?” Holding and caressing my hand, I was feeling something alright, but I knew what he was really asking, and so, I nodded:

“Yes, I’m fine. Just glad that meeting is over.”

“I heard you yelling at Yami and Jack,” Great, now I was nervous again, stuttering on some words as I quickly explained:

“Yeahhh, I’m sorry about that. I never yell at anyone. It just came out of me- “

“My dear, you’re fine,” He assured me with a squeeze of my hand, calling me dear had me frozen, staring as he said, “I wanted to give you some advice on dealing with them. Next time they try to tease you like that again, all you have to say is one thing.”

“And what’s that?” I was so nervous and flustered that I could only manage a whisper, but following his movements as he stood up, bringing me closer.

Only after you were safely tucked in bed, he asked if you were okay and if you needed anything. He brought you water and stroked your hair until you fell asleep.

He would try not to let you get scared because of your fear of heights, but if possible he would like you to slowly face your fears and overcome it.

Well, you know, since your man is always all about surpassing your limits.

Nozel Silva

The very first time he saw your whimpering while being so high up, he quirked his brows a little. Initially, he thought you just lacked the courage, but as you told him about your fear of heights, he became more protective of you.

He would constantly ask if you were okay with this height you were in. This royal even moved his room to a lower floor because of you.

He would be hella infuriated if he learnt that you were forced to be very high up and especially so if you were badly affected by the ordeal. Let's just say, people would be punished.

As a magic knight, it was inevitable that you would face some heights, but Nozel would let you take your own pace in facing your fears.

He wouldn't force you to do anything you were uncomfortable and would always be there around you, keeping a steady hand on your lower back to tell you that you were safe and you always had his support.

If necessary, he would hold you close or if PDA wasn't a good choice, he would just hold your hands and give it a little squeeze to let you know that he was here.

He would praise you if you faced your fears, telling you that you did a good job and that it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be.

Draped around your shoulders was a blue robe with a golden rose pinned at the center, signifying that you are Charlotte’s subordinate.

“Good evening Captain Nozel. I apologize for bothering you but would it be alright if you call out Captain Charlotte? Her presence is needed back at the base and I was sent to fetch her,” you spoke politely, hoping you didn’t disrespect him.

He just nodded and turned back to call Charlotte after which he continued on with his own business and flew home.

He didn’t think much of his encounter with you at this time.

The second time he encountered you was in his personal home. Nozel invited Charlotte to his estate to discuss their upcoming joint mission over tea. This time he couldn’t take his eyes off of you.

“Nozel, I hope you don’t mind me bringing an extra guest.” Charlotte placed a hand on your shoulder. “This is Y/N, she organizes important documents and papers for the squad. She’s here to jot down minutes of this meeting.”

“I don’t mind at all. Please have a seat, tea will be served in a while,”

Needless to say, Nozel’s gaze would linger on you from time to time. He wasn’t quite sure why but he was enthralled by you and the little things you do. He observed how you twisted the pen between your fingers, how you shyly tapped on Charlotte shoulder to clarify something, how your eyes would mold into thin crescents when you laughed at something Charlotte said.

Soon after, you crossed paths with Nozel more and more, often by chance. His infatuation with you only grew each time he saw you.

He wouldn’t talk to you though. He only spoke to Charlotte BUT his eyes were on you. It was always like that. You brushed it off thinking that he was just being polite.

Now you started noticing the innocent little glances he kept making whenever you’re around. But you paid no attention to this because in your head a royal would never be attracted to a mere commoner like you. Unbeknownst to the both of you, Charlotte was watching from the sidelines.

The next after meeting hangout, Charlotte purposely sat down on the bar stool beside Nozel.

“You know, she had many suitors coming by the base every now and then. She turned all of them down saying that she wasn’t interested in men who didn’t take the time to get to know her,” Charlotte said in a hushed voice while sipping on her drink.

Nozel was taken aback. “I’m sorry, I don’t quite follow.” his eyebrows were furrowed in confusion.

Charlotte sighed. Even though she wasn’t the best person to give these kinds of advice, she couldn’t help but meddle in between the two of you; play matchmaker or cupid if you will.

“Y/N has been a close friend of mine, almost as if she was a younger sister I never had,”

Nozel’s eyes widened at the mention of your name.

“I see the look you give her, Nozel. The attraction you have for her is undeniable.”

He didn’t expect someone would catch on yet here he is having this conversation with no other than your captain herself.

He cleared his throat and tried to play it cool. “I just find her interesting. That is all.”

Charlotte hummed in response. “I just think that maybe if you stopped staring at her and actually talked to her, you might have a chance. Like I said she likes it when men get to know her rather than base their attraction solely on looks.”

She patted Nozel’s shoulder and stood up, finally calling it a day.

He may seem unbothered by what Charlotte said but he did follow her advice. Whenever your paths crossed, he made it a point to talk to you. It started off as awkward like him telling you he that liked the color of your pen or that you had a neat handwriting. You were amused by the sudden attention he was giving you. He would casually ask you personal questions and you would gladly tell him more about your hometown and pieces of your life. The once small talks turned into you getting well acquainted with each other.

Regardless of the level of closeness you two were heading, you didn’t think much of this. You held on to the belief that it was highly unlikely for a royal to choose to be romantically involved with a commoner. You often asked yourself at night, “Do I actually have feelings for him?” to which you knew the answer to. But you knew that having these feelings for Nozel would amount to nothing. It was a dead end, a road leading to nowhere. And so with full acceptance, you decided to set these feelings free.

Of course, Nozel thought about you too every night. Various scenarios of how he was going to ask you out officially swirled in his head. No matter how detailed and well thought of his plan was, he always chickened out when he sees you. Every time he backed out he would think well there’s always a next time. However he didn’t know you were also getting quite closer with one of your male friends.

When the news of you starting to see someone reached him, he was livid. And to make matters worse, it was a subordinate of his. He didn’t know you had male friends from his squad which infuriated him even more.

He couldn’t believe it. How could you be dating someone from the Silver Eagles that wasn’t him? UNBELIEVABLE

He paced around the room thinking if he should approach the situation with violence or not. In the end he decided to just wing it. He was a royal and refused to lose especially when it comes to you.

He flew on his mercury eagle speeding towards the Blue Rose base. When the ladies saw him they started whispering.

“I’d like to speak to Y/N please,”

“She’s in the balcony by the common room on the second floor,” Puli gestured for Nozel to come follow her

When he stepped out he saw you looking over at the scenery with elbows propped on the railing and chin resting on your hand.

He walked slowly and stood beside you. “I didn’t know you had male friends from my squad,” he said, staring off the distance.

Your head snapped in his direction, not really expecting someone let alone Nozel to be here at this hour.

“You flew all the way here just to tell me that?” you teased him.

But he wasn’t up to banter with you. He didn’t react which made you even more confused.

“Why would you date him?”

You blinked. “Am I not allowed to? He asked me out and I’m quite comfortable with him plus it’s just a first date... wait, since when did you become so invested in my love life?”

Nozel gripped the railing tighter, his knuckles becoming white. He said nothing but he also refused to leave.

“What is it Nozel? You’re upset about something, you wouldn’t have come here to—“

“Don’t go on that date.” he suddenly blurted out

“Why?” your heart was beating loudly, getting faster each passing second.

He sighed. “You know why,”

You knew but you wanted to hear it from him that way you would know that it’s the truth.

“Say it, Nozel. I want to hear it from you.” you said, while carefully taking little steps closer to where he stood.

He closed his eyes tight. It was now or never.

“I... I like you Y/N. I want to hold your hand, keep you close when nights get cold, drink all kinds of tea with you, hear about your day and every other story you want to tell me. I want to be with you,”

Your heart fluttered at his confession. But of course, doubts roamed around your mind.

“A-are you sure? I’m just a commoner Nozel.”

“It doesn’t matter to me. And you are supposed to go out with a noble are you not? What difference does that have with me?”

You smiled sheepishly, your eyes shaped into thin crescents. Nozel’s heart skipped a beat upon seeing this. He loved your eye smile.

“You’re right. If you’re interested to know he’s a family friend. My mother used to sew garments for their family. They treated us kindly which is why our families are pretty close.”

Nozel nodded. “I see,”

You squeezed his arm then pouted. “Stop being grumpy. I’ll cancel my date with him okay? Because well...” your cheeks were starting to display a pink tint. “...I want to be with you too.”

The tension Nozel held all day had finally eased out of his system. He turned to you, slowly placing a hand on your cheek. He caressed it with his thumb which made your face redder.

“Good.” he smiled. “I’m taking you out for breakfast tomorrow,” he stated, almost as if he was giving you orders.

You gave him a salute then laughed. He rolled his eyes playfully. He pulled you closer to him and kissed the top of your head.

Ah, the Blue Rose girls are gonna be so proud of you for finally being in a relationship and not to mention with Nozel Silva too.

A/N: I hope you all enjoy part 2/4 of my pieces for the first day of the anniversary collab for the @konoblog-simps. You can find all the lovely pieces for the day here! Today’s theme is fluff and we’re gonna spend some time with Nozel Silva next. I’ll be spanning my four pieces throughout the next couple of hours so stay turned. Word Count: 700

Your eyes wandered the body of the man that stood in front of you. You had never wanted him to climb back into bed as badly as you did right now. It was too early for him to leave. You hadn’t had nearly long enough with him.

Nozel felt your eyes on him as he got his robes and such together for the day. Paperwork was going to rule his entire morning and he wanted to get it done as quickly as possible.

You whined his name to him and watched as he sighed softly and turned around. “Nozel, come back to bed. No one is going to be at headquarters for another three hours. You can spare another hour or so.”

He chuckled softly at you and walked closer to the bed, reaching his hand for your cheek. His skin was soft as he held your face in his hands. “Darling, I have so much to do today. I must go in early.”

You held his hand in your own and let your eyes well up, giving him the best puppy dog eyes that you could muster. “Please, Nozel. I feel like I don’t ever see you anymore.”

Nozel moved away from you and back to the dresser, continuing to get ready while looking into the mirror that hung on the wall in front of him. “You knew what you were signing up for when you started seeing me, love.”

“I signed up to be your girlfriend, not to spend my days at the house and to never see you.” You scowled at him and watched his demeanor change some.

Nozel placed his robe back down on the chair beside him and turned to you, leaning against the dresser. “Baby girl, you know that you own my heart, and you always will, but as far as my job goes… I’m a magic night captain. I have things I have to do that most others don’t.”

You pouted again and threw the blankets over your head, trying to hide from him. “Whatever Nozel.”

You could feel his presence as he approached your spot on the bed, his aura surrounding you as he placed his hands on the blanket. His strong hands tugged on it, pulling it from your grasp as he exposed your body. “You’re cute when you’re angry.”

You kept the scowl for as long as you could, trying to keep your angry facade for him. You didn’t want him to know that you were admiring his loyalty to his squad.

“Shut up, I am not.” You scoffed at him and tried to pull the blanket back from him. “Stop trying to change the subject Nozel.”

His chuckle rang through the room, music to your ears as you fought back the smile that you always got when you heard it. “I’m not changing the subject. I’m just trying to make you happy again.” He sighed and moved closer to you, sitting on the bed beside you and placing a soft kiss to your cheek. “You know how I hate to see you sad.”

You rolled your eyes and looked away. “Just go to headquarters Noz, I’ll see you when you get home.”

Nozel smiled at you and moved closer, grasping your chin in his hand and forcing you to look at him. “Can I kiss you right now?”

His lips pressed softly to your own and you didn’t fight him. You moved your lips with his, basking in the moment as he claimed you as his own.

As he moved his lips away from you, you playfully slapped his chest. “Damn you Silva.”

Nozel wrapped himself around you and fell to the bed, holding you against him and running his hands through your hair. “How about I give you another half hour?”

But when he got no answer and looked down at you he noticed your eyes closed. Sleep had once again taken over you and he didn’t want to leave. You looked so at peace. And he didn’t want to take that away from you. The captain of the Silver Eagles may have a tough exterior, but for you… he was the soft Silver Eagle.

A/N: Ahhhh thank you for sending this in, Silvana! I had fun writing this little (lmao I got carried away and it’s 1,000 words) piece for you, and I really hope you like it. I happen to be on the fluffier side, so this writing was therapeutic. It was a little hard for me to write Solid insulting the reader as I would NEVER. If you’re reading this and struggle with self-image, just know that you are beautiful, wonderful, and worthy of love.

Nozel is tooth-rottingly sweet in this. I could see him being completely different from his rough exterior when he’s in private with his s/o.

The Silver Eagles hideout was peacefully quiet as you made your way down to the overly-grand dining hall for dinner. The main hallway of the base was illuminated by lanterns along the walls, and a cool breeze blew through it carrying the scent of lilac . Opening the door to the dining hall, you noted that most of the members of the squad were already there eating in silence, including your boyfriend Nozel Silva and his siblings Solid and Nebra. Nozel sent you a small smile as you took your seat next to him.

“Good evening,” you greeted the lot as you transferred delectable dinner foods from the communal plates to your own. You’d been working hard in training lately, and a larger appetite had come along with that. Suddenly you froze, hand pie midair, as you locked eyes with Solid; he looked disgusted.

“Don’t you think you’ve got enough food already,” Solid asked with a sneer before adding under his breath so only you could hear: “Fatty.”

You let out a small gasp and let the pie drop back onto its serving dish with a soft thunk, the tongs you’d been using following it with a clatter. Several of the Magic Knights at the table jumped a little at the loud noise before resuming their meal.

“Solid, that’s enough,” Nozel commanded sharply. You could feel your partner’s eyes on your heated face, but didn’t dare look at him lest the tears pricking at the backs of your eyes come crashing down.

With a tight throat, you forced down a few pieces of fruit before excusing yourself from the table and retreating to your quarters, tears rolling down your face as you rushed through corridors.

Taking deep breaths, you approached the full-length mirror in your room and examined yourself.

Sure, you were larger than a lot of the other members of the Magic Knights, but that didn’t diminish your magical abilities. And, Nozel didn’t seem to mind what weight you were. But did you really deserve his love with the way that you looked?

Why did Solid have to remind you of the thoughts that constantly ran through your mind during your darkest moments? Could you ever move past beating yourself up over your weight?

A soft knock sounded on the door just as you were lifting your shirt to prod at your soft stomach and love-handles. Nozel slipped in quickly, closing the door behind him with a quiet snick.

You turned to face him, your hands gripping the soft flesh surrounding your belly button like you were about to make it talk; he probably thought you looked insane. But, he surprised you with what he said.

“What did Solid whisper to you?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you lied as you tried to turn away from his gaze before realizing there was a mirror behind you. Nozel strode over to you and wrapped his arms around you from behind, replacing your hands with his own and rubbing small circles into the soft skin there.

“You don’t need to have your guards up around me,” his hot breath fanned over your neck. It smelled lightly of the strawberries from dinner.

“He called me–” you started before a lump wedged itself into your throat, stopping you. Taking another deep breath, you continued. “He called me fatty. I don’t know why I’m so upset, he isn’t wrong.”

“Is that really what you think of yourself?”

“Of course, what else am I supposed to think, Nozel? Just look at me,” you replied with a gesture to the mirror you two were standing in front of; a fire was burning in his eyes as they roved along your body.

“I haven’t made this clear enough to you, evidently, and for that I am sorry, [y/n],” he stated. “I think you’re strong, quick-witted, intelligent, and the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.”

“But–”

“I’m not done yet.” His hands moved to your arms. “These arms direct some of the strongest magic I’ve seen in a long time.” Moving his hands to rest on the tops of your thighs, he continued. “These legs are always the first ones into battle and the first to make sure people are safe.”

He moved his hands back to your stomach with a devious smile. “And this stomach makes for the best pillow in the Clover Kingdom.”

You hiccupped out a laugh and swatted at his hands, watching his smile grow in the mirror. “I love everything about you, and you should too.”

Turning around in his arms, you placed a sweet kiss to his lips, cupping his face in your hands.

“I love everything about you too.”

Bonus

Bright morning light was beaming onto your face from your open window when you woke. Nozel was not in bed with you, much to your disappointment. He’d cuddled you to sleep and his warmth was comforting as you rebuilt your self esteem with his words.

Staring up at the canopy, you allowed his statements to wash over you again, a smile curling the corners of your lips. You were so lost in thought that you didn’t even hear the door open. Nozel walked in with a tray piled high with breakfast foods.

“Oh good, I’m glad you’re awake,” he said, sinking onto his side of the bed and extending the small legs on the bottom of the tray before placing it between you both. “I almost missed breakfast while watching you sleep, luckily there was still plenty of food for us.”

“You brought me breakfast in bed?” A broad smile was plastered on your face as you watched the typically stoic man blush. “How did I get so lucky?”

“I could ask the same,” he said, leaning over the tray to give you a peck on the lips. “You should know that I spoke with Solid.”

“You didn’t,” you said with a groan. What kind of retaliation would Solid plan?

“He won’t speak to you in such a way again, I ensured that.”

“I appreciate you looking out for me,” you said with a strained smile. Gods you loved the man, but he was sometimes too straight forward for his, or your, own good.

“No one is allowed to hurt you while I’m around. Now, let’s eat, my love.”

There indeed aren’t many Solid fics out there, so I’d be happy to write one for you. In this one you go on your first date with him. So, it's tense, it's awkward, but he's trying. I hope you like it! ^^

Solid wasn’t… he wasn’t exactly sure how it had ended up like this.

You two had met through Noelle, when she had been visiting home, and you had been with her. The Royal Capitol was large, and unfamiliar to you, which is why it was far easer to just go along with Noelle on your day off from squad duties.

And he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about you ever since.

Even if it took him a long time to admit that he had been thinking about you to begin with.

But. Eventually it had led him here. Sitting across from you at a restaurant you thought to be too fancy for you, but not quite daring to argue against. At least he had gotten you a private room. Though you supposed it was more so about wanting some privacy, because surely people would keep a keen eye on a member of a Royal House on a date.

And neither of you needed people prying into your date.

“Thank you for the invite,” you told him, looking down at your plate. The food was good, but not quite anything you were used to. Not that you were going to complain about it, oh no.

You just… didn’t know what to do, what to say. How does one date royalty?

His chin lifted, to say something that would have sounded a sneer. But instead, he hesitated. Because what was he supposed to reply? ‘You should be thankful?’ It sounded like something he’d say to a servant, but not a potential spouse.

Not to someone he was courting.

Not to someone… he liked.

His eyes fell to the side because… he wasn’t sure how to talk to someone he liked. Not this way anyhow. He cared about the opinions of Nozel and Nebra. But that was entirely different.

And a lot of nobles always circled around him, and the rest of the royals at social events because they were hoping to wind up in higher social circles. Which wasn’t exactly liking their company, but more so about what was potentially on offer, if they succeeded.

He… didn’t like those people. He liked the attention, but he didn’t like their company. There was a difference.

But with you… He liked your company. The problem was that you didn’t really look like you were enjoying his company in return. And that made him hesitate. For a moment.

“You’re… welcome,” he eventually uttered, pushing the words past his lips.

They felt so foreign to him. Not unpleasant, but foreign.

As you looked at him, you saw a frown on his face. Not a displeased one, however. But instead, as if he was trying to understand something. Thinking about something?

“Do you… want something?” He asked, not quite sure what he meant with it.

And neither were you.

But as the seconds ticked away, there was a need to reply to him. “I don’t… need anything from you, Soli-“

“But do you want something?” he repeated, stressing his question while keeping his own eyes down in front of him.

His tone, however, had a hint of… something. Which made you wonder.

“People… want a lot of things, so… what do you want?” He continued.

And then it dawned on you.

Because he was royalty, he was in a position to give a lot of things to people. If he wanted to. Which meant that he was probably asked for things too. Though he didn’t exactly seem like the first person to be asked for … a lot, but because he wasn’t the oldest of the House either, asking him wasn’t as forthcoming or cocky as asking from him.

Right? That must’ve been it.

People wanted things from him. They didn’t like him. They just wanted things from him.

And at that moment, you felt sorry for him. But… also you couldn’t help but feel touched by his gesture.

Though there was just one thing you actually wanted from him.

“I don’t… know how to ask for it…” you admitted.

“What do you mean don’t know how to ask for it?” He questioned, quirking an eyebrow.

“I just…” you took a deep breath. “Want you to be kind.”

He frowned, being slightly offended by the request. But then again, if he was to describe himself, ‘kind’ wouldn’t be a word among them.

“I don’t think you’re a bad person Solid,” you tried to explain yourself. “I just-, sometimes it feels like you-, I…. You’re not bad…” you hesitated. “I just… don’t find it easy to talk to you at times…. But we can work on it! How we talk about things.”

There was a pause, during which he clenched his teeth. Trying to swallow a lot of things.

“I think that… you can be kind…” you tried, reaching across the table. “You’ve been kind to me…” your eyes averted, hesitating, but still you didn’t pull your hand away.

Another pause lingered in the air, as he contemplated.

No one had told him that he was being kind before. And no one had … not asked him for-, though technically you asked something from him, but it wasn’t … This was different.

So, he reached over the table, and took your hand. “I can…try…” he uttered, under his breath. Because he wanted to try, for your sake.

You hadn’t been expecting this. For the past 500 years you had been living alone, as a bird, much to your demise, and then the curse had been lifted. Even if only half way, but it had been lifted enoughfor you to live your life as a human.

You had seen tides change. People come and go, and you had… been looking at the Kingdom of Clover form into the kingdom that it was now. But you hadn’t thought of falling in love, you really hadn’t.

But how could you have not? You had flown into the Silver Eagle’s headquarters, and perched next to the captain that was observing his squad training. Simply out of curiosity. But there you found yourself drawn in by him. And ever since then, you having introduced yourself to him, you never left his side.

The bird thematic became an inside joke between the two of you. He was your dashing silver eagle, and you were his breath-taking songbird. It seemed like nothing more than a joke to most, when you were in fact a bit more literally a song bird that they would guess. But. It was between the two of you more than anyone else.

And he would always follow birds with his gaze if you weren’t there, hoping that one of them might be you. And that you’d perch next to him at any given moment. His gorgeous song bird, that sang only to him.

“You’re safe, under my wing”, he once commented without thinking. And it ended up being one of the most poetic things he would tell you. But. He would repeat it over the years, and you could never get enough of it.

Fuegoleon Vermillion

Not much changed over the years. After the elf massacre and the giant devil, there wasn’t a lot of grand events. Not to you at least.

But something that did happen, was the fluctuation in the royal families. Though the change was gradual, you couldn’t help but keep an eye on it. Even if it meant looking over ever once in a while, instead of visiting them weekly, monthly, at times not even yearly.

Though, it changed when you couldn’t, one time, one year, one day, help but feel your heart skipping a beat. And the reason for it, was none other than the handsome, kind captain of the Crimson Lion Kings and a member of one of the royal families.

You fell for him, and he fell for you. Even though you joke about how a big kitty such as him caught a little birdie such as yourself, with its big paws. To which he chuckled. He always chuckled; commenting on how it wasn’t so much him catching you, as it was you finding him. But. He’d gladly keep you safe with his ‘big paws’ as you said.

Though it wasn’t really you commenting on the size of his ‘paws’, it was you saying that he was a big kitty, being a lion king and all.

“Fair enough,” he’d tell you, each and every time, before placing a kiss onto your forehead.

Julius Novachrono

The passage of time felt almost non-existent during your time as a bird. And even after you were able to turn into human again; after you were enabled to live both lives, the one you had been living for the past 500 years, and the one you could have lived as a human.

But what life were you meant to live? That was something you found yourself asking from yourself, time and time again, but there wasn’t an answer. Or there didn’t seem to be an answer.

It was fun to think about it though. Or perhaps not “fun”. It just felt meaningful. And that was how you met him. The time mage who was on a quest to find himself as well.

You began talking, and the conversation eventually led to you revealing your bird form. Which made his eyes light up, and sparked even more discussion; discussion that eventually led into a relationship.

And he would love it, the way you perch onto his shoulder and nestle into the fur collar of his cloak, or into his hair. He never knew to dream of a spouse that could nuzzle so close to him, at essentially any time. But now that it was a reality, he couldn’t imagine himself wishing for anything else.

You were one of a kind, and when he said so, told you so, he didn’t just mean the long life you had lived, or the fact that you could transform into a bird conveniently; he meant you, all of you. He found you fascinating, alluring, intriguing, kind, gorgeous… The list would go on and on.

And he always searched for you, when you weren’t there. The times of which were scarce, since you liked to keep close to him, which was more than pleasant to him. Because that’s what he wished: to have you, by his side.
