I've been watching the avatar series and honestly, I think this warrants a bullet points review bc I have a lot of opinions, and some are unexpected. I haven't been following a y discourse online about the show bc I wanted to form my own opinions before I finished it! This is episodes 1 through 5.

Right off the bat in episode 1, the first thing that strikes me as a huuuge issue is that Aang does not argue with monk gyatso before running away. It's a problem that keeps coming up in this show, and its that all the conflict is deflated from the characters and given to the plot. Instead of a young character making a mistake and learning from the end result, our protagonists just respond in a way that's removes any of their decision making from the driving force of the story. Aang didn't run from his responsibility out of fear, he just needed to clear his head!- our sweet baby boy remains the moral compass!

That being said, I do think the rearranging of the plot in thr first episode is absolutely the right move for the show. The pace is immediately set and it works.

The visuals (costume and set design) feel very very shiny and new, like how all netflix shows end up looking, overly saturated and costumey.

The casting for aang and zuko is one of my favorite things EVER. They are probably the most competent actors so far tbh. That little boy is giving it his all 🥲

Sokka and suki!!! Another instance where all the conflict and resolution feels unearned because there was nothing to resolve! Fine, you can choose to remove the sexism arc, at its center, this sokka and suki introduction is about sokka developing a level of humility that he will need in order to learn from the people we see him meet on this journey. Sokka comes in in the live action show a clueless small town warrior who gets shown the ropes on the big stage, but for what? We see suki chew him out but because there's no real conflict, he's just some shmuck getting chewed out for no real reason other than not knowing enough. It's completely hollow.

Ok this leads me to the fight scenes. They're bad! The only one that I liked was Bumi and aang, we had sustained wide shots, a creative use of bending, and the actors movements feeling well rehearsed. The opposite was the case for nearly every other fight smh.

Katara my beloved 😭 she is shockingly underwritten and I'm trying to figure out why. She gets so little active screentime that isn't just parroting the plot back to aang and sokka. All her passion and life is dead flat. I was praying they'd give her her painted lady momentand it never came, she never had a moment. It's such a huge fuck up to leave one of your three LEADS out to dry like that.

That being said, I had my little fangirl squee when jet and the freedom fighters were revealed. The casting just had me absolutely giddy 😭

And that's just katara compared to everyone else! Because at the end of the day this is the most poorly written dialogue I've seen in a show in so freaking long. It is written so stilted and klunky, and the actors are given so little direction, the end result is so dry and lifeless. It is honestly the single worst part of the show.

Our characters are no longer active decision makers in each town they visit! The plot is just happening to them! It's an extention of that conflict criticism, our heroes don't have anything to learn, they're just along for the ride! No opinions or conflict here!!

But... the one thing that absolutely is working for me... is the story. All the plot changes have been the right move every time. Combining episodes has worked so well in this short season format that it's kept me following along every time! Putting like four episodes into one omashu episode??? And having them connect in a way that makes sense??? Ik completely impressed

So far, it seems like awkward dialogue and overly shiny visuals has bogged down a show that really really could've worked in the live action format! The plot has still succeeded in keeping me engaged for the hour run time of each episode, along with the really great aang and zuko moments.

Was very closed to check "i can make it SO fucked up <3" but tbh i like them the way they are <3 All soft and nice and """"""clean"""""" <3 Sara is underrated smh. She did not gave up her soul to complete the whip that will eventually save humans over and over again just to get ignored like that >:l (i also like the tragic idea that the family eventually forgot about her <3 Something about Leon keeping the fact he put his ex betrothed in his whip a family secret so the other people wouldn't... you know... do what they did anyway and shit on them lmao. And eventually, it just faded away) But other than just Sara, the couple they formed with Leon was pretty cute <3 At least we can easily imagine it was. Because we know Leon and we saw enough of Sara to know her too, sefless and sweet. Not that her 3D facial expressions are helping in showing that...

Next is THE OG WORSTIES !!

They're both fucking Mathias. And maybe Leon too. And no i take no criticism. The game might not have given us much about their backstory together. But what we do know is enough to understand that THEY FUCKED. THEY SO FUCKED AND THEY WERE SO TOXIC ABOUT IT. Walter manipulating Joachim <3 Joachim attempting to murder him <3 Joachim being TURNED INTO A SLAVE BY WALTER. AAAAAAAA I WISH WE HAD SEEN MORE OF THEM TOGETHER AND MORE OF JOACHIM ALONE. Also love the idea of "not dating but married nonetheless" dynamic with them... ;3 (do not do this at home kids) Didn't check "compatible brand of freaks" because i couldn't decide if they were compatible or not. I guess yes in a way, but also no ? Consider it is both.

So... Hector/Rosaly, huh...

They live in my heart rent free <3 ROSALY THANKING HECTOR FOR BEING BORN IS MAKING MY HEART MELT I'M A SCREAMING YES PLEASE GIVE MORE LOVE TO THIS MAN aaaaand then she died. FUCKING DAMNIT ISAAC. Can't believe i didn't check the "oh the devotion" box- my mistake. Consider it checked. Because Hector is SO DEVOTED TO HER IT'S BRINGING ME TO TEARS also this is your fault. I never used to care so much about any of them >:( but then you arrived and BOOM. ANGST. ANGST AND FEELS EVERYWHERE. FUCK YOU BEEVEAN. Mwah <3

And now the last AND MOST IMPORTANT ONE

FUCKING. THEM !!! <3 <3 <3 My BB and his twisted fucked up gay mentor <3 (I just realised "inherent eroticim of attempted murder" actually worked for them since Isaac did wanted to kill BB when they met. And then I guess Isaac wasn't exactly gentle when training BB... homoeroticism. Homoeroticism everywhere.) Are they fated ennemies though ?? Benedict IS a Belmont after all. And Isaac IS a general of Dracula. And a simp of his. But he was also supposed to be dead ages ago and the Belmont clan's thing is more about killing Drac than killing his servants (it's just a secondary thing lmao). Idk i let y'all decide. The ending stays the same anyway: they fock <3 They have no one but each other and they fock <3 I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE AT THAT POINT. BUT THEY ARE. AND THAT IS ENOUGH FOR ME.

The Hyuga Clan

Well all know that Hyuga Clan is one of the oldest clans in Konoha and descendants of the Otsutsuki clan.

(Another one it's more in-depth ...reasons cuz i want to😜)

We all know about the main and side branch. How horrible that system is.(Chapter 78/79 also Chapter 102)

Honestly, we should have gotten more in depth about how the branch system is how it effects the clan as a whole.

But we can already know the results it would have been like Naruto the last

Ch105

The fact that the internal fight within the clan can't believe a close relative of his as some scheme against the side branch.

( Also no matter what ya'll try to say to me Hiashi has changed. I will probably always have zero respect for this B*tch lol. Until I see a DIRECT apology towards Hinata I'm not letting it go.)

A clan that practiced slavery and forces children to train/fight since young age. ( By the way Hinata was three year old toddler during this time against...a grown ass man doing what seems to be harsh training smh.)

If change hadn't happen then the hyuga clan would been just like the Harmura's clan on the moon in the last.

The strongest clan in konoha! (Though barely enough screentime)

The rare kekkei genkai inherited only by the Hyuuga clan. It boasts a 360-degree range of vision and the ability to see clearly for hundreds of meters, and is able to see through opponents’ chakra networks.

With the Byakugan, Ao could distinguish chakra colours of certain individuals and determine if an individual was under the influence of genjutsu

The Gentle fist isn’t based on brute strength or damage area, it’s based on precision and speed. (combat speed and precision.)

Amazing chakra control

which ignores durability and directly affects the target. (internal organs)

It can ignore durability thanks to its ability to directly attack the opponents chakra system as well as mess up opponents tenketsu in order to manipulate their chakra flow.

This ability also grants the user the ability to destroy chakra based substances such as ninjutsu.

Let's get to the techquinces:

Most gentle fist techniques (including the very basics) require excellent precision and chakra control

Rotation: This technique allows the user to send chakra out of every tenketsu in their body while spinning, creating a powerful barrier around them which deflects any chakra or physical attacks sent towards it. It's similar to shinra tensei in a way.

Air palm :

Wall Palm: does the same thing as air palm but on stronger. It comes with raw power

Neji & Hinata they weren't on Hiashi's level so they used it together

Wall Palm: We saw what an exhausted Hiashi was able to do with it (he was exchuasted fighting for two days none stop.)

Twin Lion Fists:

Sixty-Four Palms:

Sixty-four tenketsu are blocked, stopping the flow of chakra within the target's body and making it difficult for them to move. Alternatively, the sixty-four strikes can be split amongst multiple targets, such as to to deflect incoming projectiles.

The Hyuga trained their combat speed, their striking speed is too fast. It’s their specialty.

Gentle Fist One Art Body Blow:

technique works by expelling chakra from every tenketsu to hit their opponent with a blast of chakra that will send them flying away from the user. It’s similar Almighty Push, as it can be used as an offence or defence.

more chakra a Hyuga expends, the stronger the technique.

One Shot:

The one-shot similar to Sixty Four Palms but, makes Sixty four palms kinda a useless technique when they have better and stronger techniques than others.It takes a lot of precision and accuracy.

I'll add and edit more since its a work in progress. Maybe a certain series will have more hyuga clan detail if there ever involved.

deprived of pancakes for a few months?!

you should definitely try making homemade pancakes, it's really fun to make once you have some free time to spare! i've made blueberry pancakes but it didn't really satisfy me like how choc-chip pancakes topped with strawberries did ( because as a strawberry enthusiast, it's a must for me, hehe! )

ah, it seems school can't give students breaks sometimes— i haven't started school yet, but it's beginning in three weeks? we get constant assignments almost daily, so it's definitely going to be tricky with new regulations added, so i feel you!

oof, don't worry— my screentime must not be spoken of. ( *~* )

it's great to here you've been enjoying the weekend!! my week has been the usual hot summer days over here, smh. ( had a quick trip to the beach and now i'm burnt to the crisp. . . )

ps: i've noticed the news around here and there, but since i haven't really touched on the topic either and because different point of views on this situation, i don't have a say on what happened. it's just that i'm feeling really hurt as i come across the hate towards jay, someone being the sweetest and considerate person that he is. as the member who i first grew fond of since i-land, i've always had a soft spot for him and watching the videos of him being more attentive of himself, made me wish he can be just comfortably be him. :( hopefully this situation can soon resolve, and that any misunderstandings can be avoided in the future.

yeahh… i haven’t eaten them in forever :(( but, yes! i love making pancakes at home, allows me to make some cute shapes >< i end up going for the classic heart-shape almost every time (hehe, would love to learn how to do pancake art) i’ve only made the classic plain ones, with a drizzle of honey on them, but i might try strawberry ones next time :)) keke, any pancake flavour(?) recommendations?

school’s super draining, but i’m really happy i’ve established this blog, a safe space for me to escape from the constant studying <3

ohmygosh… i can imagine how hot it is over there… global warming’s really been taking a toll on the weather.. and this is so tmi, but i’ve never been sunburnt, so i have no idea how that really feels, but i can imagine how painful it is, so take care raine!

p.s. i wholeheartedly agree, it really pains me to see this whole situation.. but i hope jay knows that engenes love him so so much <3 i do agree on this. i hope that jay, no, everyone, can feel comfortable being themselves; i love seeing him talk about things that genuinely excite him, i love seeing him giggle about something unconventionally silly, i love him so much... hopefully, the misunderstandings are able to be resolved soon ^^

Dragons: The nine realms season 3 review/thought

At first I'm considering formating this review as "The good, the bad and the ugly" But after having watching it I feels that there's too little for me to consider bad or ugly so instead this is going to be in the usual mix opinion bullet form. and my general opinion is that----

Season 3 is easily the best of the 3 season! and the closest it feels to the old series with how dragons focus it is. It's like an improve season 2 without dubious dragon designs like Bubblehorn or Spiderwing or a horrible Buzzsaw introduction episode. Of course there’re still problems and I wouldn’t say the improvement is drastic or series changing that would convinve people to like the show if they’ve already decide via first two season that the show is not their cup of tea. The plot and written is still bare-bone and only servicable but all in all It’s still the same turn your brain off dragons of the episode show I can enjoy with the open-minded. Now for the indepth points;

- There are 3 new named dragons introduced in this season and I'm very glad to say that for once, all three dragons hit and none has miss! I really love these new additions whole heartedly. Flamethrowers although I would place somewhere in the middle tier comfortably with something like Sandbuster, Grim gnasher or Shadow wing, you know, late rtte dragons (and has lame name) as like not having much to standout, I do think is one of the most, how should I say this, completed well rounded design from nine realms if I say so myself.

Deadly Spinner is weird but in the good endearing weird, my favourite kind of weird. I like my dragon weird and eff up. They are Therizinosaurus sort of weird animal. also Bias but they reminds me of my fan dragons. I also like the face and the spine. This is kind of thing I'm talk about with Spiderwing. Spiderwing basically just a spider with wings slapping on top of it but this guy is a properly spider inspired dragons the way I like. Still sad we dont get to see animated silkspanner though. Dreamworks come on!!!

and lastly the Sky torcher is a thing of beauty! I was very surprise when the thing appear and looking this good thanks to the lack of appearance in the trailer or marketing, nice!

oh and also there are these nameless guys.

- All the returning species are a darling and was done justice and got a lot of screentime for their whole episode they appear. There're monsterous nightmare, Gronckle (fire gronckle but basically the same thing),Fireworm, Quaken and Hobgobbler who make a debut in any series ever. as well as Terrible terror and Razorwhip who are still here to stay. Fireworm is my one of my top favourite and seeing them get the episode dedicate to it make me happy.

Although why is nightmare walk like the nadder? When is fireworm having pupils?

- I have mentioned this before but I like that they avoid mentioning the old dragon species name because it would make no sense for the kid to come up with the exact same species of dragons, with the closest mention of it being "These little terrors" or "this fire breathing Nightmare". Monsterous Nightmare is more or less being dub as "Fire breather" in this era. (kids and their creative naming smh, it fits the kids character but hahaha)

- Feather and Alex are continue to cary the show. Not just for their likability but also their in-universe compitent like omg Feather make Thunder look so incompitent with all the heavy lifting she pull this season, Night fury who? she basically naping the MVP status none stop. Big bad dragon? disorientrd with her scream. Human discovering dragons? invisibility. Needing distraction or prep talk? Alex got your back. I think at this point Feather is now my third favourite dragon character after Thornado and Cloudjumper

-There're clear progression of the human discovering dragons plot, something I normally dread on the previous first two season for being the bad part of the show but this season they actually handle it pretty well because like i said, clear progression (instead of keep dancing around it). Eugene now knows. Alex moms now sorta know. Buzzsaw now knows...

- Speaking of Buzzsaw, he's still the negative spot of the show and is a very incompetent villain but looking at him as a Diet Dagur and it made sense and somewhat passable. Still pretty weak and annoying and yeah.."Diet"

- As for the scient site stuff, they're actually mostly on the side line this season and not much of a bother.

- Eugene! I like his inclusion in this season and the team!

- Jun's character is actually improving, a welcoming improvement

- There's a lot of good human-dragon interaction in this season. Particulary on the first episode between Tom and the Monsterous Nightmare, The quaken episode and the last episode with Tom and the Fault ripper arc being resolve. The quaken episdoe while i still has some issues on the ending think handle an interesting set up of D'angelo just---just---feeding Quaken's eggs to the gronckles and deal with the grieving mother. The ending is kind of a cop-out but it's still the episode I enjoy

-Majority of the jokes actually land and I found myself chuckling on various point in every episode. I plan on putting it in the review but found there's so much so I just going to bring up one of my favourite being when Buzzsaw discovered Thunder and Eugene just yoink him in the heas and put a leaf on him.

-Thunder takes a back seat????? which might consider be a problem/issue to thunder continuing to be the boring one (tm) of the show but because I have that issue with thunder the fact that this season barely focus on him actually kind of feel nice. Like he's still around but kinda being just as Tom's riden dragon. Almost similar to how Toothless in the old series doesn't have much character outside of Hiccup riden dragon either *gunshot*

- The invasive species plot in this arc make me think back about the ethnicity of Toothless' decision in Hidden world and reminds me of my own plot------pro-segregation Toothless/hj

- Sad theres nothing to come out more of the Alpha gem yet. It's one of the plot thread I'm very interesting on (again because it reminds me of my own plot)

- The musics while over-dramatic at time, do slap

- better texture and lighting? I think composition and animation still the main issue that is work against it but season 3 look much better on the eye or I might just already getting use to it.

- The ending. I'm never that BIGGGG on rtte either but I gasped and getting a little giddy.

- I 90% predict snow wraith is going to show up next season (because we know they're going to be in the game) also finger cross for desert realm desert realm desert realm

Over all pretty happy/content with this season and actually very excited for the next one. again, if you are not on board in the first place this probably still wont do it. but I'm happy. I will also be looking forward to the video game that is going to be release later this year.

Lastly, the regular new dragons rank. I will do both what I think is the best design and what dragon I feel emotionally attach to this time. There're some old dragons that move up and down on rank though to my opinion changing on them due to exposure, like Misttwister who is growing on me quite a bit. Magma breather is straight up just a good dragon with good design I took back my lukewarm opinion from the last season. Fault ripper I still have problem with how it looks generic and out of place and like melificent dragon stumbling into the wrong show but I can begin to acknowledge the merit of some of its design and I don't turn my nose when I saw it again this season. I actually like it fine. Flood fang unfortunately droping down due to lesser exposure and me begin to think it's too simple.

I know he'd never do this, it's not the actor's job, overstepping bounds, etc. but at this point I think the only way Jonathan's going to get any story apart from a three minute convo with Will and lurking behind Nancy's right shoulder (oh, and driving, let's not forget that) is if Charlie pitches the Duffers on something.

What does he have to lose? Netflix is completely uninterested and the Duffers wouldn't hire him again. (And ok, there's the cash, but why else would he want to be associated with them.)

Unless at this point he wants to distance himself from the show?

Either that or social media asks why the hell Jonathan hasn't had a story for three seasons AND says they want one. Loudly enough for the Duffers to hear them. And how likely is that to happen lol.

No he needs to put down the ping pong paddle and do this lol. And actors have pitched things to them before. I hope they listen to Charlie about having screentime with Joyce again and Natalia about having screentime with Mike.

But yeah part of the bringing it back full circle was I wanted the Byers fam to be impt again like in s1 (specifically via the supernatural plot), but they’ll prob find a way to exclude Jonathan from that smh

tayston the eternal the iconic like, quasi rivals even through kompenso & that delightful little push & pull, to situationship fwb, to [what are we? including [friends]?? / i have feelings for you not telling you which ones], to lovers, or to [alleged lack of personal connection], or to that but back to lovers, etc & so forth. can have no drama, light drama, quite a bit of it, a metric ton. get to fuck a lot, talk a lot, hang out together, have trans & autistic solidarity & understanding. be hilarious, and so serious. what Isn't there to say? they can have the range, & beyond it. it's what they deserve

benston like, theoretically smoother basically immediately mutual [want to date] feelings, to dating, the obvious use of axe cap noncompete for drama, but also, it can be not that. or it can make them exes, or not, or they can meet in s5 for quasi rivals to hmm nvm. let's kiss. being able to go like yeah fuck it simultaneous benston & tayston (& taylaur), tmc polycule always guaranteed a good time. some drama as well just in any degree of a slowburn due to classic presumed [this Can't be mutual]ness, winston thinking people don't just like him, supposedly especially when they're Sweet, ben faced w/someone with what's sort of an Intensity compared to his own usual demeanor, when usually that spells being run over at 500mph, even if ppl supposedly find him Sweet....even if winston supposedly does that. but imo that's like, quantingly, in how he "drives fast" in the first place, which is, moves in microseconds. if he were to ever be interpersonally punching ppl in the face & running them over, we might've been shown that once....even when sparring indirectly with ben it's like, this is quite subdued & fleeting lol especially compared w/what either of them get from other ppl like all the time. or, heck, we can imagine they held on to some semi petty quasi rivalry a while after that, until basically forgetting to keep that up one day / effectively both failing to keep a straight (lol) face about it eventually. canon offers so much room that we can just do whatever

even re: tmc polycule that like, somewhat bonus humorous what if that is mafee noticing he's at the lgbtquant fund & going "am i an outlier or? how would i Know know....how do you get in on a sexual encounter w/another man...." like crashing around questioning & winston is like, okay look, in the interest of convenience & preempting any potential disasters. and then that makes their [friends, sometimes? but also mafee is, somewhat mafeely, a dick to him sometimes, including that he can't even muster caring abt winston being harassed, threatened, & attacked by dollar bill more than he cares about how upset dollar bill must be to be doing that, much less how winston can go above & beyond to help bill feel better] "funnier" if winston duly supplied some sexual experimentation data points for him lol like. also their nonzero work friendsishness being funnier too. just a little low stakes something to go smh about and only talk about as much as mafee might ever stumble through it some more lol

the rich opportunities of riawin being obvious, canon-supplied even if you have to branch off from it into an au where they're actual friends, or else go with a version where they're eventual ex-somethings where that relationship was a mistake (mostly actually for winston, of course, though rian may see it the other way around as the superior party, as well as anyone who agrees w/that perspective)....immediate quasi rivalry, including both the quasi rivals And crush [get out of my fund] feelings for winston before rian presumably is aware he exists, for a head start on marination lol, as well as the inherent humor in winston just being more intensely affected all around at first....in the au, opportunity to go from those quasi rivals for enrichment to quasi friends to just also friends for real lol, a potential (relative to billions, and/or relative to anything) slowburn to also lovers, to an actually totally alright situationship / fwbship, whatever you want, really. a marker here just being like, unless it's the more canon compliant [any greater degree of intimacy on whatever front could only make this relationship worse for winston] route, i imagine this Relationship as pretty drama lite, to free. just chilling & vibing, for the most part. it was also canon, after all, that said Yeah winston's crushing right away but he's also just rolling with it nbd, and so is rian. not difficult to incorporate this into a very like, patiently & spontaneously developing whatsoevership

winstuk to me can be just the maximum flexible & chill like. imagining that for once if anything winston is the one more / first crushed uponst. don't even need any guaranteed out & out crushes(tm), to me. quasi rivalry, apparently offscreen they stumble into just a full throttle earnest friendship, Okay, fine by me. winston the vivacious spontaneous fun sexy playful party here, being to tuk who nobody reliably is to him but he could easily imagine he'd like it if someone was, that is: hand on shoulder (literally. waoh) like Don't shut up you Are allowed to do things other ppl are....talked about though imagining ofc tuk's perspex on [canon quant'em dynamic: ri&win misfortunes] as someone who'd even pay attention to winston, much less also even potentially sympathize w/him more than rian, or even simply As Much, since rian's slings & arrows are the momentary irritation with winston getting a bit too comfy thinking he's someone who doesn't deserve revulsion & rejection & what all, & winston's are being hurt on purpose at any moment any time, all the time....a contrast w/all that vivacity & confidence & etc that winston can consistently have around tuk; tuk also being someone pwned & punished for "deserving" it being a loser or whatever. got the glasses boys over here as well, between just the two of them, nerd alert?? and the idea of tuk realizing he can Also take on the role of [trying to be emotionally supportive like how he'd want to get from other people] to winston, tentatively, vs winston perhaps also being a bit anxious to Not show any want or need for that to tuk b/c like, he also doesn't have even the "ben does sometimes relate to tuk as the Senior / More Correct one but does also ofc try to be kind & supportive to him too" figure anywhere around him, so far as we get to see gleaning it much more rarely, fleetingly, partially from taylor....how's he gonna know he Can ever get something like that from anyone at work, even a work friend, see: his experiences getting support (hint: he gets none, Less Than, since probably they also made it worse / took it away) from like theoretically / sometimes friendly coworkers during/after a miserable to distressing experience....

(fun fact: i had to stop and think for a long time about the Stardew Valley characters, not because i struggled to name any, but bc i play with a lot of custom NPC mods and had to double-check to make sure i was thinking of only vanilla NPCs. also had to make sure that i didnt mention any that only really get characterization in expansion mods sdfjksf)

Aizawa: literally i would kiss them

Present Mic: They are so silly

he's a fun character, i love the line where he says he'd like to have a karaoke contest with the villains who turned Oboro into Kurogiri. it sounds silly but then i remember his quirk, and how much of a threat that is. i really like how it's his character who goes over peoples quirks throughout the series

Monoma: they sure do exist

he has a pretty cool quirk, and interesting backstory, but also i mostly just think of how he antagonizes 1-A so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it would be cool if he got some more screentime though, because i think he could be very neat!

Uraraka: i want their gender

not really since i'm a girl but it kinda fit the best? idk i like her and i also kinda wanna be her. she's cute, has a cool quirk, and i like seeing how she's improved in fighting over the course of the series

Midoriya: I am so normal about them

he's my blorbo!! i really admire his drive to be a hero, and i just love him so much alsdkjaslkjdl 💕 i don't have a lot of thoughts about him but he is definitely a *spins around in my head* character for me

Sokka: that's a solid design right there

he's nice, and just really solid character! he does so much throughout the series, and just has a lot of character. despite being the only main character without bending, he's never treated lesser for it in the show (except for some teasing by Toph), like he keeps the whole gaang together and on track!

Suki: not for me but i see the appeal

i've never been a big Suki fan, sorry 😭 she's cool, but i've just never been that interested in her

Elliott: the fandom is so mean to them smh

i haven't gotten to any of his cutscenes in my current playthrough, but from what i can remember he's a socially awkward writer and is sweet. kind of... dramatic? and he's not my favorite but i don't dislike him and think people are kinda mean towards him

Leah: *projects onto them*

again i haven't seen any of her cutscenes recently so i might be kinda off, but she's an loner artist who lives in a COTTAGE and makes a lot of her own food from stuff in the forest!? add a garden and some animals and then she is living my dream life

jwcc s4 review (finally)

》spoilers ahead

okay so like ima try to be the most chill and unbiased with this review— i read some others that brought up good points that i didnt see at first, so now thats what ima try to do!

-the biggest fan complaint, kenlynn/cool kids/brookji:

alot of fans are super pissed abt this, and at first it didnt make sense but now i can kindaaa? understand it. my general take is that s1 & s2 the kids were just vibin and surviving, getting to know each other and etc. i think kenji started to have a crush on brook esp in s3, since they were paired up/talked a lot (when brook fought with darius, when sammy got posioned, when darius split up with the group to get ben when leaving the island and brook was worried) so they were kinda getting closer and comfotrable with each other already. and like kenji even confirmed in s4, he realized his feelings for brook when she got taken away, hence his fight with darius (i imagine he was super confused n frustrated abt it.. poor boy). and personally at the end of s3 when kenji got mad, i did find that overprotectiveness weird and was kinda thinking it was bc he liked her! so overall the crush reveal was not a surprise, but i was more surprise that it actually happened! as for brooklyn i think her feelings for kenji were never really developed until they got closer in s4; kenji being a doof and possibly his trueself? and realizing how alike they were made her start to like him a bit? and then he semi-admitted he liked her so she got super confused as well (maybe bc she didnt know if it was platonic or romantic). then yasmina basically opened her eyes, and i think after that brooklyn was thinkin a lot, and spending even more time with kenji she realized she liked him as well...

i admit they couldve done better to show brooklyns development into liking kenji in previous seasons, bc tbh i see both darius and brooklyn being equally super chill with everyone (tho im biased for benrius!).

i think bc the season went by super fast unlike previous seasons, it made kenlynn develop fast as well so it didn't look that well written. tbh even i myself was supperrr shocked that they actually made it bf-gf official! i even wouldve been fine with just confirmed crushes this season, but the ship is probably gonna go through it next season (esp considering the plot twist in the end of the last episode... someone protect kenji pls)

but overall, ship it or not, i still dont think fans should be too angry and crazy at kenlynn shippers or the writers etc. like no one knows where this is gonna go, so we'll just have to wait and see. shouldn't we just enjoy it while it lasts? i think kenji and brooklyn need some type of break from the chaos, and if they wanna be together thats fine by me. same for the other kids! i hope if theyre getting romance arcs that itd be similar screentime as kenlynn and maybe even better developed (i still think yasammy is gonna be the finale ship idk..)

one thing i do wish now is that their charas this season werent too much revolved around each other, but ig thats how it goes! at least we learned more abt them both anyway (theyre both lonely and sheltered kids... also, BROOKLYNN HAS DADS!) and yes im ignoring we still dont have a brooklynn last name reveal smh...

as for the age thing.. idk im not bothered tbh. its like what, a 2 year difference? so thats fine by me, i can see it realistically (if it were any bigger i would def understand the isssue). i dont think the writers are intending anything sus for that or anything— as long as these kids are all kids and just vibin im fine with that. kids have crushes, no biggie.

overall not a surprise to me or a bother! next.

-sammy:

i feel like her character is always the same throughout the seasons so i always found her boring and wanted the crew to work on her. this season was alright! its good they didnt let her issue with her fam die down (tbh i almost forgot thats why she came to the camp), her anger moment, although a lil reckless, made sense esp since we already know her fam obvi means the world to her. i liked her realization with the spinoceratops¿ (angel n rebel) was bc of her and her development from pity to saving them was good! still wish they couldve showed more yasammy, but slow and steady wins the race ig! the deal with mantahcorp (idk if thats how u spell it oops) got even bigger now bc of kenjis dad and im scared for her bestie relationship with kenji 😭 im scared for that whole drama in general but with sammy and her fam as a victim... send help to my kids pls!

-yasmina:

a lot of people send she was so out of character this season (mainly with the kenlynn thing) but tbh? i think this version of her is her real self. even tho she was more colder in previous seasons, we're not new to yasmina being a super supportive friend otherwise. and like she said, sammy is the one who brought out those feelings! i really liked this mischeavous side of her, and ben friendzoning her was the funniest thing!

im superrr pleased with the whole PTSD thing. like most kids shows dont take that trauma seriously and just shove it aside. but not jwcc, and thats prob why im so attached to the show is bc they arent afraid to commit (a kids show where people actually die?? coming after my own heart i see...)!!

i know we prob shouldve had more experiences from the other camp fam, but maybe its good they made this a mainly yasmina thing bc we're so used to seeing her be strong for the team. weak yaz make me weak myself... let her sleep pls.

-ben:

bens whole finding out his identity arc was pretty much perfect. im glad they brought up how panicked he was bc he knew isla nublar so well but now he knew nothing and felt like he was reverting back to scared-ben... but we all know that ben is just ben now! i hope he can get more actual moments with the others bc hes been so independent all these seasons (aromantic king maybe..?)!! a lot of fans like him but tbh /dont kill me/ so far he was always my least fav kid out of the crew.. but i did like him more with his whole s3 thing with darius! so maybe just having him spend time with the others and being himself is the key!! (also more benrius moments pls.. theyre such the mom n dad of the group idc what yall say!!) and his ptsd with the pterodactyl or whatev things? it hurted but im happy he was able to fight back this time!!

-darius:

i didnt get fans complaint with his arc this season at first but after reading some reviews, now i do a bit! now in weirded out as to why darius has like 0 trauma.. maybe its bc he loves dinos so much that overall it doesnt bother him? esp bc dinos are what connects him to his dad the most and etc... and i saw people talk abt him being super leader-y this season but i didnt see much of a difference? he was always the one everyone looked to for answers so i wasnt surprised that he made his own decisions again— everyone still trusts him and knew what he chose was the right thing to do. but they didnt tell him abt their ptsd so obviously darius wouldnt know abt it bc all of their bonds are so strong that i think darius trusted them to tell him anything (but since they didnt he was obv blinded to their true feelings??). and surprisingly a lot of fans seemed to think he was out of character or smth when choosing the phone over the dinos? but i think it was good development bc it showed that even tho he loves dinos to death, he would still do anything for his friends (esp bc they told him they had ptsd). im glad in how he handled it!

one thing i agree on with others is that he definitely deserved some more screentime. mainly with the other kids, and less solo screentime, like the other seasons!... yes i admit, kenlynn and kenji did overshadow him a lot, but at least i believe its to build up the plot twist in the end for kenji and onto the next season (maybe theyre giving each kid arcs? and s1 was mainly darius's? idk tbh!)

i loved how darius handled kash— who i hate and pls let big eatie eat him already...

darius is just so smart and damn im jealous! that kid can think fast and improvise like breathing, no surprise he's the leader (and brooklyn being second in command to the group was very interesting).

-mae was a fine character! i like how quirky she is, and finally not an evil or dead adult 😭 but it was funny how even so she still got injured and was out of commission the whole time... can someone just save my kids and not die, pls theyre too traumatized!! (ps where are the camp counselors who i 100% forgot their names— are the gonna come back or naw...)

-i agree with others, kash is a weak villain. but tbh i feel like he was that annoying and ridiculous to just blind us with the ep11 plot twist aka the REAL villain¿ (i keep mentioning this but ill talk abt it soon i swear). the robots were boring i do admit as well, maybe it wouldve been better if they were like.. dino robots? to help with the island but also be disguised with the other dinos? idk tbh!

-darius's brother who i forget his name... im rootin for him obv! maybe he'll get the camp counselors to help him out and they'll slowburn their way to help the kids? i hope we get more of the mainland stuff bc like.. is no one worried that 6 kids are still missing from the island??! like maybe they do think theyre dead after all (which angsty thats so rude im cryin) but is there like really nothing they can do? get chris pratt on the case already!!!

I WAS NOT SEEING THAT. like even rewatching that episode i still gasp like ive never seen it bc its so unreal to me... its so good. it pretty much made up whatever complaints i had before! first "appearance" i literally was like who tf is 'daniel' (bc the subs) and i thought it wouldve been a character they already introduced previously! but ig technically they have (even tho i didnt know his connection to kenji until he literally said dad..).

im super hyped for the next season esp bc of this.. that's a relief to hear!! i wanted to try and see if i could keep a story engaging without the yandere constantly being present, so that was the challenge i gave myself. i think that childe was able to find darling for a few reasons. the first and foremost was that he lied about when he'd be home and was fresh on the trail not too long after darling escaped (maybe an hour or two?). second, is he's way more familiar with the territory than darling is, that was a fact he could use to his advantage. all that added up to him finding darling.
