Saw someone say Yasammy feels forced because there were never any hints that the feelings Yaz felt for Sammy were romantic and like. Listen. Outside the little moments that made it a bit obvious they liked each other-- Yasmina Fadoula did not run in the middle of a storm, almost drowned, moved a huge tree, outran the fastest dinosaur alive, faced it and then ran back to the camp while being exhausted, just out of sheer gay determination, all this while thinking of Sammy to gain strength-- so now you say there weren't any signs of her crushing on Sammy. Okay, wow, Yaz figuring out her feelings for Sammy actually made me tear up.

She says she’s never had a crush on a girl before, only guys, and is freaking out because she doesn’t know how it affects who she is, her identity. Then Ben points out she doesn’t need to have answers to all of that, she can just have the feelings she’s having and not have to define it right now, especially with killer dinosaurs and evil billionaires still chasing them.

And she does it!

As someone who is often confused about how I feel and unsure about labels, this really hit home for me. I can’t believe Jungle Boy Ben summed up my feelings so perfectly that I wanted to cry.

One of the funniest things about the Camp Cretaceous Interactive Adventure I've seen no one talk about yet, is that when the fam first gets in the gyro spheres, Ben and Darius crash into Sammy and Yaz, Yaz yells at Darius for being a reckless driver. But really, Ben was the one driving! And Darius just takes it, like they both look guilty, but Ben lets him take the blame!

Also, they don't dare correct Yaz when she's angry.

Camp Cretaceous Fic

Hey all so I finally caved and wrote a camp fam fic because there isn't enough. Yes, I am 24 yes I am obsessed with these children. I have a lot of feelings and I need to write about them. You are welcome.

It features a lot of feelings about their PTSD, Benji, Yasammy, Dinostar because the og ships were my fave (Benius did grow on me tho)

Summary:

A short-ish story exploring the campers reacting to dinosaurs being released on the mainland. Includes, characters having injuries and dissabilites from the island. Everyone has PTSD. Some flashbacks of how they reacted after being found. Lots of feelings and camp fam being each others family.

'Ben found out because of twitter. Fucking twitter. He held a bag full of chips and gummy lollies in one hand as he checked the notification on his phone with the other swinging his leg off his motorbike. The tweet he read filled his body with lead. ‘Multiple dinosaurs seen roaming off a highway in California’. He clicked on the thread praying to any god that this was some crazy fake news. As usual, no god answered his prayer. Images and dashcam videos are flooding his phone of dinosaurs walking around. He begins to hyperventilate when he sees her.
