Thinking about how chewing works for humans n how the only other animals I can think of off the top of my head that have to fuckin chew shit like us are like... Grazing animals. Everything else I think has crazy sharp teeth and wicked stomach acid, like dogs and cats seem to practically swallow some stuff whole, only chewing it enough to get a swallowable chunk. But like I literally have known multiple people who have had stomach problems from not chewing ENOUGH.

[raises hand] re: the mostly eating meat and animal by-products because scarcity of edible plants thing, how did finns avoid scurvy before it got easier to import fresh fruits and veggies? i can only imagine that must have had a huge impact on the food culture and i'm really curious :0

Oh, it's not that there aren't any edible plants available in nature, it's just that they have very little nutritional value when it comes to calories. Besides only being available for a brief season when they're good to eat, you'd spend more energy than you'd gain if you spent all your time foraging and eating pine needles, nettles, and mushrooms.

Keripukki is a loanword, so I don't know whether scurvy was known as a whole concept before that, but reading old finnish books on plant medicine, there's plenty of medical plants whose description explains they were used to treat something that's modernly known as a symptom of scurvy, which contains vitamin C.

Also, it's not that finns did not have any fruits or vegetables at all, only that next to none grow wild in nature. You can grow apples, pears, and root vegetables here quite easy. Farming land and cultivating domesticated plants was perfectly possible (as miserable as it probably was), but you couldn't be a hunter-gatherer here.

I work in a whole foods supply store, and one of our customers is a lovely old lady who lives out on a rural property, way beyond the city limits.

A pair of peacocks have nested and made babies at the edge of her land (two clutches so far this year), and she has taken it upon herself to feed them, so she comes to us to buy food - seeds, chopped nuts and dried fruits.

I know she means well, but she says the babies now come to her door to 'beg' for food, which means they're habituating, so I feel like she's doing them more harm than good.

If you knew of someone doing this, would you leave them to it, or try to dissuade them? Also, is the food I described above actually okay for peacocks?

She says the peahen is a bright, beautiful, unblemished white, which I thought was quite rare? She is going to bring me photos on her next visit...

Unless you're in India, they're not habituating because they're not wild animals, they're feral domestics. If they're hanging around and being fed, congrats, she's got free range peafowl. It's free birds!

As for the mix, I would cut out the nuts. Fruits are fine but they don't really like citrus and they shouldn't have avocado. Fresh fruits are better than dried, dried concentrates the sugars and doesn't provide any hydration. If she'll listen to you, tell her you have a friend that breeds peafowl and that they suggested better treats would be live mealworms or superworms, dubia roaches, farm-raised hornworms, or mouse pinkies. They also like fish (at least feeder fish, but possibly also larger fish they can pick apart) and meats. They can be given veggies, but they don't rip things apart the way chickens do their beaks are not as able to tear into hard things, so veggies should be chopped small. They will happily rip up greens or melons that are cut open though. Banana too! They love banana and berries.

Black oil sunflower seed and safflower are good seeds, limit corn intake. No beans allowed except refried ones. Planting clover in her yard will be a good source of nutrient-rich greens (and good for bees!).

But honestly, a good high-protein dry chow with some water added fresh to it will provide a lot of benefit, just as much attention, and probably be cheaper since you can get 50lb for like $20. I use Belstra 28% turkey starter crumble from a local feed mill. It may not look as interesting but my birds get a LOT of varied treats and chow mash is one they'll eat every day without any hesitation, and leave nothing behind. The only other treats that is true for are bugs and farmer's helper golden egg nugget treats. Even peanuts they have turned their noses up at a couple of times.

As for the white color, it's not that rare. A lot of people don't like to keep them because they get dirty easily and because colored birds often HATE them. Hens often won't mate with them if they can see other males, and males often attack or attempt to chase off white hens. In the wild, a white animal draws attention and opens the flock to predation.

Regarding my last ramble post, I am sorry to inform that it is now all I can think about now, and now it's all you can hear from me. CUZ OML.

I was just thinking back on it again and thought about beefy farmer boy König. JUST THINK ABT IT.

Farmer boy König that always wakes up super early to do his chores and errands. Driving the rusted blue truck to the town square to restock on groceries and food. He'll have his little sticky note of things that you asked him to bring back. Stuff you guys don't produce like sugar and honey, since you two produce you're own food.

Stuff like bread that you bake yourself, jam you mash on your own, milk that König fetches, eggs from the hut, and butter that you season to your liking. Although he does indulge in his own little interests, looking at sturdier and shinier. And occasionally a more comfortable and flashier collar for your farm dog, Ace.

And sometimes he’d come back to you with a new dress he saw on the market that he thought would look great on you. A linen white maxi dress that he found so beautiful with you wearing it when you ran around with the cows and Ace.

König’s way of keeping the baby cows and sheeps in when they somehow get over the fence is throwing them over his shoulder and softly plopping them to the inside of the fence.

I don’t know that was just a good visual to me 😭

König tends to the crops and the plants, making sure there aren’t any weeds or contaminated areas. Making sure it’s always well watered and the soil is always making sure they’re all pruned and taken care off. And he’s always proud of the outcome. Healthy fruits and veggies he’s delighted to see used in meals.

But what he’s most proud about, aside from you, is his garden. Picks out the most beautiful assortments and pallet of flowers. And makes sure they’ll bloom in time for your favorite season. König loves picking out the most developed and vibrant colored ones, making sure to cut out the thorns and little branches

And when he presents them to you, he lives for the happiness on your face and the way your eyes light up at the newest arrangement.

This man is so unbelievably burly and huge, that when winter comes and it gets cold, you don’t need a radiator or heater. All you need to do is squeeze yourself in front of him and pull his shirt up to enter yourself between him and his shirt.

König always comes home tired and hungry after a long day’s work. So, he’s always super eager and ready for the dinner you prepared. He’s super clingy so he doesn’t allow you to sit on the other side of the table, instead just picking up the chair— along with you— next to his seat and slides your plate next to his so you two can sit next to each other.

100% has fallen asleep in the field at one point. You found him laid back against the grass with some of the other farm animals napping around him.

This is my list of discreet ways to worship Talos. There are two versions of him most commonly worshipped - that of mainland Greece and that of the island of Krete itself. Both vary vastly; Krete saw him as a bronze automaton Sun god that fathered Hephaestus, while mainland Greece saw him as a giant bronze automaton assigned to protect Krete by Zeus. went to (half of) AssistiveWare webinar compare proloquo2go vs proloquo AAC app. here some new & personal thoughts

proloquo folder organization truly better for me than p2g. how p2g organize fringe words always been area where big big big frustrate at. to me there such huge contrast for p2g between great core board vs ..not so great fringe folders with limited words. for example p2g food folder, organized partly as breakfast lunch dinner, but what food lunch food what food dinner food. or animals, as pets, farm, wild, insects, water animals. except for example “wild” such huge catagory.

proloquo animal organized as mammals, fish, reptiles & amphibians, invertebrates, birds. which think is way better organization for me & also for promote learning vocabulary & knowledge, because proloquo quite geared towards ppl w I/DD & a lot users are children still learning words & knowledge. just thinking about like how. young children w AAC actually may get head start at organizing animals when they traditionally neglected for education!!!! gasped at this organization didn’t think abt doing it this way before may change current AAC to this way. proloquo food organized as drinks, dairy, breads n cereals, proteins, fruit, veggie, meals, etcetc

proloquo “related words” function. genius. want it. so bad.

proloquo existing words, like mom, able change spelling between mum with u and mom with o, but not able change symbol or replace with real picture, not able change to other words. don’t like that. part understand why—prevent delete, prevent shift around which interrupt motor plan, & if person need “mom” with picture of actual mom, do it as separate button but there still button for general mom that allow for generalization, not just for their mom that one person specifically. but still. don’t like it. n also like. for example symbol for woman & man is ♀ circle above cross & circle with diagonal arrow ♂. wanna change those symbols. doubt can.

proloquo fixed grid size not for me. understand it for motor plan & avoid people give ridiculously limited vocabulary board to people. but. not for me. don’t like it.

always get sense of subtle messages about proloquo better than p2g. it’s not. there always obligatory “individual case by case basis” disclaimer but everything else say not reflect that. examples given in webinar of when p2g may be better is 1) already using p2g, & 2) visual motor disabilities where need larger grid size. that it. every other circumstance it implied that proloquo better. it not. it really not. are some areas proloquo do better than p2g? hell yeah. but it not automatically better. it a really personal decision & can’t act as if one app better and then say “but of course individual case by case” as get out jail free card. it not better for me, even if was not using p2g to begin with. am frustrated by AssistiveWare a lot n how people uncritically putting company on pedestal & this one of area of frustrate.

proloquo. always gripe about their subscription only payment.

I think Enid and Wednesday should own a little farm with animals and fruits and veggies, and Wednesday should sit in side writing and openly staring at her beefy wife working hard labor

I just think that should happen

Okay but like

I think Enid deserves to be a simple farmer and wakes up suddenly with the memory that she has a wife

Except, that doesn't make sense because Enid has been single for ages

But, she has a wife and her name is Wednesday

She remembers meeting her when she first bought the farm, how the two of them built the barn houses and spent time growing the crops throughout the years

Except, Enid knows that she did it alone. The farm was abandoned when she first came here, no lady named Wednesday in sight

But, Wednesday is sitting in the table and there's food. The shorter girl's head is tilted and she says good morning, acting like she totally was supposed to be here

Which makes no sense but enid goes with it because in a world like hers, things are just weird

Then when she bites in the food, her throat gags when she registers the taste of blood

When Enid spits it out, she's staring at normal cooked meat.

"is something wrong with the food?" her wife will say and Enid gives a careful smile, ignoring how her mind screams that something is wrong. She doesn't have a wife, she never had a wife-

"No, I think I just bit my tongue," Enid says, sticking said organ out for a moment.

Wednesday shakes her head, a huff escaping her lips as she too digs in.

She's beautiful.

Enid remembers a book she snatched a couple years ago, noting of that one excerpt in animals.

The more vivid, memorable, beautiful- the more dangerous it says and Enid very much agrees now.

When Enid meets up with yoko in town a few weeks later, the farmer will be pulled close.

"I don't have a wife named Divina," the glasses wearing winemaker says. "I didn't enid-" and she nearly chokes on a sob when Enid brings her into a hug.

Because yoko too didn't have a wife but enid remembers that she does? A nun of somesort, a supposed missionary who came to spread the word of God before settling down with yoko. Enid remembers celebrating the wedding with Wednesday.

This is confusing, this whole thing has her head aching but this was a reminder that she wasn't alone

"we didn't have wives," Enid murmurs, ignoring how something prickles in her back. "but we do now, okay? Is she treating you alright?"

There are crows flying ahead and Yoko's grip tightens when a hummingbird zaps around nearby.

"she's the best," yoko says. "but she isnt- this isn't normal."

Enid can't say anything but hold her back.

Or

Enid now lives in a world a bit too off from before. She has a wife apparently and when she picks up a carrot, she'll stare at the peeled tendons dripping onto the ground below and drop it with shaky breaths.

She closes her eyes then she picks it up again.

| Shadow of Me | :Creature Concepts: Pt.1

Small update collection of some of the finished concepts of the creatures found in our headworld. Some of these are the lore/designs my husband Abaddon/Obsega(ObsidianAssassin) came up with. And some are mine. But we both did the writing on them all and developed their lore. I will tell a bit about them but not a lot. Most of their lore can be found on my Patreon~

Staggsguld - "term used for referring to the sun deer"

These creatures mainly feed on nectar from various flowers they find in Chreshera. But during high noon in the scarlet fields they will freeze themselves and open their membrane hoods to soak up the sun's rays for more sustenance. Sometimes you can catch whole herds standing still like statues doing this. Some males that live long enough for their crystalline horns to grow so large they begin to twist around themselves like trees. Even grow moss on them. This creature is also the flagship creature of our lore.

Chimerah - "term used for referring to the shade-toothed panther"

Though large and bulky these creatures are as silent as the chill of a cold voided room... Even the Staggsguld cannot hear them coming. The only chance you have at some hint of their presence is the prickling sensation you feel as all the hairs on your body stand up. Obligate carnivores in nature, their bodies made up of different animal parts. That most of which are from snake, feline, ursidae, and draconic. Like most if not all creatures in Chreshera they give off a soft bioluminescence. But they can fade, even turn this off, when hunting their prey...

Piquies - "term used for referring to the guinea hog sauropod."

These creatures are large in size but not nearly as large as the cows of our lore. Though being the pork in our world they still hold a lot of use rather than just as food to feed various cultures. They also serve as hearty steeds or as pack holders for weary travelers. Not much bigger than a Clydesdale horse these small creatures toddle along but aren't very speedy due to their robust stature. They mostly chew on various grasses and tubers for their sustenance but when farmed its more preferred to feed them a rich diet of various fruits and veggies for a more sweet meaty taste. Though be wary the small ones like to bunt your legs if you are not paying attention to them.

Don’t Go Searching For What Goes Bump In The Dark

Chapter 1/?: Paradise Farms

They had worked for this peaceful life, after a lifetime of turmoil and pain. They deserved this peace that they’d carved out for themselves. Peace can only last for so long, as life liked to remind Clint that it surely was a bitch. His peaceful life with his mate, with the love of his life, his soulmate is crumbled into ruins when Bucky disappears one morning. Clint would do anything to get his mate back, even if that meant walking into the slimy tentacles of Hydra itself.

Clint knew something was off when he woke up to an empty bed, the bed was cold, the sheets undone indicating that his mate had never come to bed last night like he promised. While that wasn't unusual in itself, something about the cold bed and the colder home made a dark pit open up in his stomach.

He didn't like the sensation, he didn't like the hair on the back of his neck standing on end, his senses telling him that something was very, very wrong.

Maybe it was just their lack of sleep.

It took all his willpower to force himself off of the bed, muttering under his breath that he was being ridiculous. Bucky most likely fell asleep in front of the couch again, watching that boring documentary on mushrooms. If that was true, he was going to make Bucky fetch the eggs from their nest of chickens for a week to make this up to him.

And he'd bribe Pricillia to peck him an extra few times just to make him feel better.

Nothing could be wrong, nothing should be wrong. This was their life, they'd built a life together out in the middle of nowhere. A rundown farm that always seemed to have something wrong with it, needing one project or another to fix it up, a few handfuls of animals and a garden with enough fruit and veggies to sustain them, and the growing cans in their basement.

It wasn't a perfect life, but it was their life. A life Bucky had looked forward to, had asked them to share together.

There was nothing wrong because Bucky...Bucky just couldn't abandon his mate, not after making all those sweet, sweet promises of life experiences together, not after spending many hours nursing his knot. Bucky just wouldn't give it all up.

That last ask about the disadvantages of a human dropping into Nevada and the ramifications on their health got me thinking.

It’s been partially confirmed that grunts can eat inorganic matter in order to survive (i.e. shoe-eating bandits). They ALL aren’t starving to death sonthey must be doimg something right.

So in all these player/reader stories I’m just wondering “How the hell are they even alive”, because humans need all sorts of vitamins and nutrition just to get up in the morning. Nevada is quite barren, so unless they’re dining on grunts 24/7 I don’t see how they would be able to live off of grunt food if 99.9% of it is non-organic.

That’s without even mentioning medication. A lot of people take prescribed drugs every day for various medical reasons, including some long-term medications for treating life-altering illnesses. It’s never a good idea to cold turkey, and the withdrawal can be dangerous if the lack of it doesn’t kill you first. If a player had to, say, take a specific drug every morning so their brain didn’t jump out of their skull, well that’s really gonna suck for them won’t it? Nevada isn’t exactly well equipped for chronic illness when the average life expectancy is fifteen days or less. Not saying none of these things can be resolved with enough dedication, just that it would certainly make life a hell of a lot harder for any humans getting pulled into Nevada.

These are also very reasonable and realistic concerns when talking about a human wondering around the wilds of Nevada. I would like to say that humans are verrrry...domesticated. We don't really survive well away from our natural settlements or environments. I mean, imagine if you had to go scavenging for food instead of going to your local grocery store or your fridge! Also, I bet a lot of people haven't been in gun fights or have been shot at. The shock of the situation would send lots of humans through a loop. Humans are used to normalcy and safety. We don't go on missions to get food, we merely go out and get what we need or go eat. Grunts are at a stage in time where their whole world has collapsed and survival of the fittest is no joke. It's not just medications either. Some humans have physical needs for asthma, diabetes, and numerous other things. PLUS, the whole "grunts being able to eat inorganic items to survive" would make humans ALSO on that list. I have stated before that humans would most likely be considered prey in Nevada and that's not a joke. For example, when Burger Gil's was in operation, they mention that Burger Gil's got the meat from a supply plant that grows meat. But that was BEFORE the fall. After the fall, cannibalism has become scarily commonplace. So much so, that there's several factions dedicated to eating other Nevadeans. (Bandits AND Vampires feed on the populace) That means that grunts would have no trouble deciding to eat a human, as it would be a typical choice. The only few things I know Nevada has is meat, bread, and sodas of some kind. (Along with whatever Chef Pava is selling.) I don't even know how Nevada has bread, since there are no known wheat farms. There are no animals, not even horses to ride on. That means there's no fruit and no veggies. No vitamins and no minerals ESSENTIAL to prevent a human's health from declining. If the poor human doesn't starve to death first, they may even die of thirst later on. The only time they would be able to get a drink is from a miraculous intact soda machine or the rain that periodically falls from the sky. Both which may expose them to expired goods or dirty water. If you're a Player, you may just be able to survive. Especially if we're talking about Salty's AU. But if you're a REGULAR human, you are going to be in a WORLD of hurt. Just surviving the illnesses you can get, the limited options you would have, the general discomfort of an apocalyptic world that's filled with murderous faceless creatures that would LOVE to eat you sounds like an absolute nightmare.

If they're a light of heavy sleeper: She's an extremely light sleeper. I think her mom brain is on duty 24/7 and she hears even the slightest sniffle and cough from the other side of the house lol

What they would do if they won the lottery right now: Definitely invest some, take her family on some trips, open an animal rescue, run a not for profit farm that helps feed (like giving aways bundles of fruits and veggies) to those in need

If they have a special item that they couldn’t bear to lose: When they were in Dhaka, Tyler purchased a very inexpensive bracelet that she'd seen at one of the stalls in the market. Just three different colours of leather braided together. He's fixed that thing multiple times over the thirteen years they've been together now and has even told her to just get rid of it. It isn't expensive. But she refuses to part with it. It would devastate if she ever lost it.

One negative personality trait of theirs: She is a worry. She worries excessively. To the point of making herself physically sick.

Okay, to update on the "will I make them found family bros or a polycule" sitch with the nightmare gang, they are in fact brothers, and that decision was made for two reasons:

One) the relationship they have with Thei and with each other that ive written so far, is very brotherly, to me at least haha

Two) I was reminded of RottenCrop and then got brainslapped by Outer/Horror and decided, WHAT IF ALL OF THE ABOVE?

So now they're a lil polycule of their own and I love them dearly just from what I've written so far akenekf

I love the design for Star's jacket that I made, plus his shoesssss~

Star is at least autistic in this multiverse, if not AuDHD, but I'm not sure yet. He hyperfixates on stars, of course, and giving star-related things to people is his top love language. He also is very understimulated easily, and loves touch to the point he (like K) will regularly drape himself on top of Rust for comfort, as well as randomly climb under him and use him as a blanket like he's not twice/thrice his size lol

He also regularly picks up Sage and plops down with him in his lap to cuddle, which usually includes him massaging different areas while telling them (both Sage and Rust) what he loves about that area of them. (Ex, I love your hands because they're rough from work but still so gentle, or I love your shoulder blades because they peek out when you turn and you look like you're gonna sprout wings hehe)

Star can NOT wear pants, he hates pants and will shred them if they're put near him (much like Rust with shoes)

Star lives in the Castle with the gang part time, but spends a lot of time in his own AU as well, as he's still a scientist and keeps things going there, plus his brother still lives there. His Paps is his twin, and lives with Mettaton, Alphys, and Undyne in a big house now. (Papyton, baybee)

(Sage will pack fruits/veggies/meats for Star to take home for everyone)

Star is very extroverted on the Sans Scale, but despite being understimulated most of the time, he's easy to overstimulate when it comes to noise, seeing as he lived in space his whole life. Even when you could hear others it wasn't super loud, you know? He'll typically go mute or will get clearly agitated when this happens, or both.

He also covers any room he may sleep in (which includes the den of the Castle as well) in glow stars, from the walls to the ceiling. He hates the dark and will break down in it. He loves any and all vegetable (especially how Sage makes them) and will not touch soup with a ten foot pole (soup is so unsafe, you don't know what'll be in it and one little change and it's all different, and the temperature could be all wacky, and the textures-) (I'm projecting lol)

Sage, or Farmer, was a bit difficult to decide on how I wanted to portray him, because I've seen him as Korean, as Japanese, and more. Oira is such a cute name, so despite choosing for him to be Korean in this world (though he's fluent in Japanese and English and learning Russian for Dust), I kept the name Oira as an option. He just has many options :) Ink calls him Parky because he saw his family name ONCE and jumped on it. K calls him Petals because he's always wearing floral pants and K jumps at the chance for wacky nicknames (like how he calls Thei Fishnets from time to time).

Sage is from a "Genocide" timeline, which for him just means they got booted from their land. He and his Paps (who I can't decide a name for yet, maybe Kale?) live in the Castle and run a farm for the guys (Sage on garden, (Kale) on animals. Sage also cook when Rust doesn't, as it's absolutely Sage's love language to make food for people as well as take care of them. He's regularly making or getting things he thinks will benefit his partners, including every star themed item he ever sees for Star and all the blue things for Rust and Ink. He picks up books for Dust and Night, and will hunt down weird/wacky clothes for K because K loves to have stupid t-shirts or skirts with shitty patterns on them.

He is a gift giver, a carer, and an incredibly loving person that shows his emotions much more healthily than most other Sanses.

Rust is one of my favourite characters to write so far in just the little bit I've had of him. Rust is a big softie type, but can and will throw someone (and has). Rust is almost fully nonverbal, but he'll talk rarely or make noises to enunciate his thoughts as he signs. This is mainly because the hole in his skull causes him some issues, and he gets extremely frustrated to the point of self hatred about his stutter, slurring, and struggle to find words. Signing is easier for him in general. He has a prosthetic arm, but it's linked to his magic so he can use it to sign as well, it basically functions as a normal arm no issue. But, when it's off for repairs or something, he tends to get frustrated signing one handed so will either be completely nonverbal entirely or if need be will write things.

His Paps, Paprika, lives in the Castle as well, as their world was destroyed very early on. Paprika cleans mainly, and Rust helps a lot, especially with dishes and laundry. Paprika also helps in the garden because she wants to learn, and she's going to uni in the OT for psychology :) (is called Rika by Ink when he's very young and it awakens something, she's trans mtf) (Rika to most everyone, but still loves being called Paps or Papy by her brother)

He loves blue because Ink loves blue, and Ink is his buddy. He babysits Ink more than any of the other brothers, because Dust can't handle it just yet and K is usually running around too much to keep an eye on a kid, and Thei is Dealing With Alot™. Sage and Star help as well, and Ink has many many many Star gifts he keeps in his room.

He loves food, of course, and he loves cuddles. He was not at all a touch person before Star, and Star opened him up a lot, but when Sage came along it really helped him learn that touch can be safe and even helpful and necessary, and he's now the snuggliest bug. He will randomly put (part of) his weight on people or pick them up and put them on his shoulder/back. (K realises this and immediately is always using him for transportation haha)

He hates the dark so appreciates Star's glow stars, and hates shoes with a burning passion. He has claws for feet and will use them against shoes. He wears loose slippers if he needs to, but hates it.

He watches telenovelas and other dramas because he knows Puppette wants someone to talk to about them, and he keeps a notebook of everyone's interests, favourite foods, colours, things, etc bc his memory is bad. He also lets Puppette cheat off it bc of his own memory being even worse.

All in all he just loves showing people he appreciates them, and he loves making sure that people are cared for. He loves giving long, soft, "you better know how much your loved" hugs.

Firsts and Seconds by Skerb is my favourite RottenCrops fic (even if it's not done) so essentially, that's the plot of how Rust and Sage meet, in my mind. Sage ends up more than half dead in the fields, is nursed back to health slowly by Sage and with help from his brother, and they fall in love. Star is in desperate search for him while he's gone, and doesn't find him until Farmtale is Genocided and then destroyed, where Core takes them to the OT and Star and Rust reunite. They have an open relationship (or maybe not open, but fairly lenient, is the right words) then so all is good, and eventually Star and Sage decide to date as well after falling in love. The three of them close things up as a lil polycule :)

They don't have any plans to move out, or have kids, or anything like that just yet, they're just vibing. They probably won't eave the castle, as it's just home to them, and Nightmare adores having them there, despite how little he may say so. Their main goal is growing and helping raise Ink, and helping family.

Sick prompt #9. “Nothing some soup and a cuddle can’t fix.” with Corn

Sure! Here you go :) I hope you like the fic.

When Corn found out that he was sick, he tried to ignore it. He knew that he needed to work, so there was no time for him to get sick! He needed to do a lot of stuff around the farm. His brother might think that he didn’t do that much, but he really did.

He needed to feed the animals, and collect some of the veggies and fruits, plus make sure that everything was well taken care of. Harvest helped out, and did a lot, but Corn did too.

Harvest handled more of the talking with people, mostly cause Corn ain’t the best at talking to people. At least most of em, Flare was one of his friends. A nice pal that made it easy to talk to him.

Anyway.

When Corn woke up, feeling strange surges of magic in his bones, he knew what that meant. His soul felt shaky too, most likely just the common cold but he still didn’t want to have to deal with it. So he slipped out of his bed and went to shower, covering his mouth with his hand as he yawned.

When he shut his mouth, he heard the click of his teeth connecting and he turned on the water for it to warm up. It wasn’t going to get way too warm; something he knew, but he didn’t really mind…

The cold sounded nice right now. He felt pretty hot. He reaches up, tugging at his shirt collar letting out a soft sound of annoyance. This was going to be fine… he gets into the water after getting undressed, and shuts his sockets feeling the water falling over his bones.

It felt nice... much more than he was expecting. While he stood there, feeling the water falling over him, he started to feel dizzy. He lets out a soft sound, and slowly moves himself to sit on the floor.

Ugh... What the hell, why was he feeling so bad? This isn't fair at all. He slept, ate well, and took care of himself!

Maybe not the... best but still good enough, right?

Later he opens his eyes when he felt a hand against his shoulder. "Corn? What are you doing?"

He blinks a few times, groggy and feeling kind of gross. He shakes his head, and lifts his head to look up at whoever was talking to him. Why was... why was Y/n here?

"Y/n?" he asks, mumbling.

"Did you fall asleep in the shower? Are you feeling alright?"

His mind felt so groggy.

"I..." he rubs at his face with his hand, "I guess so?" he then realized that hey, he was naked! He moves the curtain over himself the best that he could "Y/n!" He coughs, turning his head down.

They snort at him. "Corn, it isn't the first time I've seen you naked. You're literally a skeleton... come on, let's get you back into the bed" They turn off the water, and grab a towel to wrap around him as they said that.

Corn breathes out, nodding slowly and rests his head against their arm as they wrap the towel around him, and they scoop him up starting to walk back to their shared bedroom. "How bad do oyu feel?"

“Nothing some soup and a cuddle can’t fix.” He decided to say, a relaxed smile on his face. He didn't really mind they were carrying him, he was a little... heavy but they seemed to be handling it well enough.

Y/n snorts, but nods, kissing the top of his head. He shuts his sockets, letting out a soft purr.

They set him down onto the bed, and head off to go make the soup. He cuddles up into the blanket, breathing out slowly. Alright... guess this isn't the worst thing. He'll just sleep then he’ll feel better, and be able to go and work.

•Once you explain that you regress to him, he doesn't ask any questions. He's immediately excited to learn more! He asks you all about your regression, and how old you normally are when you're in that state.
