Hi, we are several hundred rats. More accurately, I am a rat, writing on behalf of my several hundred friends, who are also rats.

It's pretty good, being rats, certainly compared to all the nonsense sapios and other bipeds have to deal with. Like knees, and dentist appointments. Recently, though, we've run into a problem. It's very common for sapios to mistake us for a multi-coporeal entity or a collective intelligence or something of that nature. You know, quote-unquote hive minds. Ignoring the fact that most hives don't actually work like that and the way that the common vernacular exposes the inherent sapionormative biases of the modern social system, it usually isn't a problem. One of us corrects them, the human reacts however they react, no big deal. Their reactions are on them, not our problem.

I'm being asked to add that it's a little sad that the humans don't have the close social bonds that could be mistaken for that kind of thing. So now I have. And now they're discussing whether it's sad or just the nature of the human condition. I'm going to keep writing while they're not trying to co-author this letter.

Well, about three years ago, a colony of cerebrachnids moved in next door with their host body. We don't need to tell you, of course, that brain spiders are actually a collective intelligence. Almost all of us have been of great terms with them since day one. It's nice having someone around who can sympathize with how sapios view us. Rats and spiders, right?

Turns out that they've thought we were some sort of multi-coporeal entity this whole time. It came up last week when some of us were visiting for tea. They've thought for years that we were some manner of genus similar to them, and have just been too polite to ask what we are. I, the rat doing the typing, wasn't there, but the ones who were there all agree that our neighbor got a little weird about it, and they're a lot less overtly friendly since then.

We can't agree if they're feeling awkward, or if they're maybe reevaluating the whole friendship in the light of how we have less in common with them than they thought.

Any advice? Do we just pretend it didn't happen and go on like normal?

Thank you for getting touch, reader – or should I say, readers? I'm extremely heartened to hear how healthy your collective attitudes are to the misconceptions people have about multi-corporeal entities and collective intelligences. I'm also pleased that you recognise your own boundaries in managing other people's expectations and reactions to your lived reality.

That said, I don't think there's any risk of your overstepping those boundaries by reaching out to this neighbour and clearing the air about their misconception. I understand you don't want to take on more than your share of the emotional work. But frankly, simply being aware of that as a potential issue is generally enough to stop it from happening.

There might be any number of reasons for your neighbours' sudden standoffishness. They might be embarrassed by their mistake, or feeling foolish for misunderstanding your nature. Or they might be disappointed at the loss of what they assumed was a friendship built on commonality of experience. The fact is, you won't know until you talk to them.

Invite them over for tea and let them know how much you've missed them. Emphasise how much you all value your relationship with them, and that you're keen that this misunderstanding should be set aside.

I would also take the time to stress how much you do have in common, despite these differences. You may not share the same kind of consciousness as them, but there has been enough shared between you to sustain years of friendship – not only shared interests and talking points, but also deeper commonalities around how sapios treat your genuses.

I don't think anything will be gained by making them feel shamed or punished, especially if they were acting out of nothing more malicious than embarrassment. Give them a little grace, and take the time to clear the air between you properly. Then, with any luck, you'll all be able to shrug this moment off as nothing but an awkward bump in the otherwise smooth road of friendship.

breaking the rules + Lando Norris - part four

In which Lando is your brothers rival in the championship battle, but you can't stay away from him.

Days have passed, you don’t even know how many. You’re consistently busy on your phone, texting or when possible calling with Lando. Since the date you had earlier, the two of you are messaging each other a lot. Telling each other all about your days, sweet talks before one of you goes to sleep and a little bit of spice sometimes. You love the contact between the two of you, enjoying every message you get.

Charles noticed your busy social media life too, asking multiple questions about it over the last days. You know you’re making things kinda obvious, but on the other hand the championship is almost over. Later this week you and Charles will head to Abu Dhabi for the last race. Charles is sitting on your bed, telling you about what you need to bring.

“Bring a party look as well,” Charles tells you, “or we’re going to celebrate my win or we’re going to get drunk when I lose to forget about it all.”

You laugh softly, “Alcohol is always the best solution.”

“I just hope we will be partying instead of drinking away our sadness,” Charles tells you.

You notice Charles sounds a bit depressing. Earlier he had this motivation whenever he spoke about the championship. The last few days he just seems sad about everything. It’s getting weird. Since your contact with Lando you had noticed the difference between the two of them. Lando had been training for days now, consistently being behind the simulator to get to know the track better and better. Charles on the other hand was doing way less. You heard him talk to his trainer sometimes, but more than a morning run you weren’t noticing. Lando send you multiple selfies after his workout sessions. Now that you think about it, why wasn’t Charles training as hard as Lando? Normally Charles was all about the simulator work and working out.

“Are you alright Charles?” You ask your brother. The dress you are holding is thrown in your suitcase before you walk closer to Charles. Sitting next to him on your bed.

“Why are you asking?” Charles asks you back.

“You seem sad. I noticed you aren’t training as much as normal. Plus you’re being negative about the last race all the time. What happened to your motivation?”

Charles sighs softly. “Of course you would notice,” he tells you.

“Tell me what’s wrong, maybe you will feel a bit relieved after,” you motivate Charles to continue.

“I don’t think it will work out in my favor Sunday,” Charles tells you, “I mean, it’s been too easy until last weeks. The car is not getting better while Norris his McLaren is getting faster every race. Why bother to train if it makes no difference?”

“That’s nonsense Charles,” you quickly respond to him, “Think about Max his championship with Lewis. He didn’t have the better car that season, but he still won. Sometimes you just need a little luck, you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

“I don’t even know if I still deserve it,” Charles mutters, “I actually don’t think so.”

You look confused at him. What does he mean? Charles was so certain about him deserving the championship. You are too. Your brother drove like a madmen this season, training really hard and making the best off every race.

“Why wouldn’t you deserve it?” You ask when Charles doesn’t explain it more.

“Do you still think I deserve it after my horrendous behavior from the last weeks? I attacked Lando, accused him of cheating and you don’t even know the rest of it,” Charles tells you while looking away.

It was not your intention to make this conversation all about Lando. You are getting nervous, not sure how the handle yourself in this new situation. Of course you don’t like what your brother did to Lando, but he can’t talk about it to you. You’re biased. Since you and Lando are seeing each other, you’ve been seeing things different. You don’t talk about the things that happened with Lando in the same way you don’t want to talk about those things with Charles. You don’t want to pick a side. At first you thought you would keep standing by Charles his side, but after his behavior you had felt yourself moving towards Lando his side. Still you can’t help to wonder, what does Charles mean with the rest of it? What else did he do to Lando?

“The rest of it? What do you mean?” You ask after a bit of silence.

“It’s because of me everyone treats him different,” Charles confesses, “I made up some stupid rumors about him and now a big part of the drivers are treating him like he’s a bad person.”

“What rumors?”

“Some about him being the cause of Daniel leaving McLaren, but also about his behavior towards female fans. That he’s disrespectful and uses them.”

You almost can’t hear what Charles tells you because of his soft voice. Why did he do all of this, you keep wondering? You’re glad Charles seems ashamed of himself. He for sure deserves the ashamed feeling after everything he did.

“Why did you do that Charles?” You ask him. You try to suppress your anger, not wanting to lash out directly. You keep hoping he has some sort of motivation for his weird behavior, but you know deep inside he hasn’t. Does Lando knows about everything you ask yourself? Fuck, did you need to tell him about this? You know about Lando his plans to talk to your brother after Sunday. The McLaren driver wants to make things right with your brother, he’s even planning to apologize for the way he made Charles feel about him playing mind games. You can’t let Lando apologize for things he didn’t even do while your brother did all of this.

“I was mad,” Charles tells you after a while, “So?” You quickly respond.

“I know it’s bad Y/N, believe me I realize it now. It got way out of hand,” Charles says, “Pierre took it way too far. He even wanted to make up rumors about Lando his behavior with you.”

“Pierre? Lando’s behavior with me?”

You don’t even know what to think anymore. Everything is getting so confusing.

“Pierre helped me, or maybe I helped Pierre? He did the most of it,” Charles explains, you gesture him to go one with explaining. You want to know more. “You know how he came over a few days ago? I told him that you weren’t interested in him, like we discussed in the car. He uh didn’t took it very well. He kinda blamed Lando for it? I don’t know why, I still don’t get it.”

Fuck. Did Pierre know about you and Lando? He couldn’t know about it, right? How would he even find out? Pierre can’t suspect anything you quickly decide. That night at the club he didn’t saw anything that happened between you and Lando. He must blamed Lando because of the staring.

“Why would he blame Lando?” You still ask. Even if Charles told you he didn’t understand why, you hope he can tell you more.

“I think it was the alcohol talking,” Charles confesses, “He was making stuff up about you looking back at Lando when he was staring at you during the dinner. And he thought he saw Lando’s car driving behind him when he brought you home. But Lando lives close, so it’s probably just a coincidence. Plus we were talking about him a lot that evening, so it’s not weird that you looked at him..”

You sigh. Is this some kind of sign to tell Charles about you and Lando? You don’t have to defend yourself, Charles just made up excuses for everything Pierre told him. But if you don’t tell him now and he finds out later he will realize you have lied to him. You doubt about your options. It’s an impossible choice. You really don’t know what to do. The only thing you really want to do right now, is to talk with Lando about all of this. Shall he know that Charles and Pierre spread rumors about him?

“Pierre wanted to make up some kind of rumor about Lando harassing you,” Charles tells you.

You shake off your thoughts. Pierre wanted what? How could he even think like that? Did they make up that rumor? You can only hope Charles stopped him.

“I told him I didn’t want you to get involved,” Charles goes on, “so I stopped him. Then he got mad, told me he made up all sorts of rumors to help me be the favorite for the championship but I was letting him down when he wanted something. We got in a small fight about it, because I told him it was about your feelings and not about something Lando did. I think he understood after a while, but I haven’t really spoken about it to him after.”

You sigh once again. What a mess. Charles made such a mess.

“What now Charles?” You ask your brother, “How are we - or you, going to fix this?”

“I don’t even know where to start,” Charles mutters, he doesn’t look at you anymore. “It’s so fucked up what I did.”

“I can’t deny that,” you confess, “but what if you just come clean about it to the drivers? You need to restore Lando his reputation. And he deserves an apology.”

“I know. I just kept winding myself up about him, he’s the bad guy after all,” Charles tells you.

“You’re the bad guy in his story. You both want the same Charles, the same championship.”

“I don’t deserve it,” Charles sighs.

“Just make things right. Come clean and fight for the championship on the track instead of doing things like this.”

“You knew?”

You remind yourself you need to be quiet. The AirPods that you wear, make sure that Charles doesn’t hear the person who you speaking to. But if you keep talking this loud, it won’t be a big surprise to Charles that you’re talking with Lando. You just told him about Charles his confessions, but to your surprise Lando already knew all about it.

“To be honest, I thought you knew about it as well,” Lando tells you. You frown. If he thought you had something to do with it, then why was the still talking to you? You would have been too mad to even have a normal conversation, let stand romantic ones.

“Why did you think that?” You ask.

“You are really close with your brother. Plus we don’t really talk about the things that he has done to me lately, so I just assumed you knew about this as well,” Lando explains himself.

“Why aren’t you mad?” You ask, “I would have been extremely angry with everyone who knew about this. How could you even look at me without getting mad if you thought I knew?”

“I was mad at your brother at first, but then I spoke to Max. He calmed me down, telling me about his experiences,” Lando explains, “So I was already pretty calm about it before I even met you. Plus I didn’t know for sure that you were involved or anything.”

“You’re weird,” you can only tell Lando.

“I do know who my real friends are right now thanks to everything,” Lando reacts, “a few people actually reached out to me before they believed anything. Like Alex and Sebastian.”

“I told Charles he needs to come clean,” you say, “He had a massive break down this afternoon. He thinks he doesn’t deserve the championship.”

“I got some messages before from drivers telling me they were sorry,” Lando tells you, “so I think he did come clean.”

You sigh relieved. Lando smiles at you through his screen. You like FaceTiming with him. Even now when you’re talking about this terrible subject. Lando makes you feel good. You don’t know how he does it every time, but whenever you look at his smile you feel your worries leave your body. You’re falling way too hard for him.

“I also told him he needs to apologize to you. I hope Charles tells Pierre about that as well,” you say, “Oh I didn’t even tell you that part. Pierre wanted to make up another rumor in which you harassed me because Charles told him I didn’t returned his feelings.”

“Pierre wanted what?”

You notice that Lando is actually getting mad now. His smile fades quickly and his expression changes. You repeat the words you told him before.

“What an asshole,” Lando scoffs, “What a fucking idiot.”

You don’t get it. Lando was fine with every rumor before, but he does respond angry to this one? Lando keeps cursing.

“What’s the matter?” You ask, “Why is this any different?”

“Because the fucking idiot wants to make it about you,” Lando scoffs, “What a dick, he can’t get you so he’s going to make up rumors about me harassing you? That’s the absolute worst. Do you even know how that could ruin your reputation? Everyone would keep looking at you, asking you all kind of questions you don’t want to respond to. Maybe they would even think I assaulted you or something. Then nobody would talk about it but you’d get all the pity looks.”

“Lan I really don’t get it, how are you worried about me when he wanted to accuse you of this? What if people thought you had assaulted me, that would be so bad for you.”

“I don’t care about that. Let them think whatever they want about me,” Lando rants further, “but you don’t deserve that. You don’t have anything to do with this championship. You just used your good right to decline the feelings of that fucker.”

“Relax babe,” you tell Lando after hearing him rant for a while, “He didn’t make up anything about us, it will be fine.”

“Can’t you come over?” Lando asks you.

“I don’t know how to do that,” you tell Lando, “Charles is at home so you can’t pick me up and the friends I have in Monaco are all away for their jobs.”

Lando sighs, “I miss you.”

“I miss you too.”

“I almost told Charles about us this afternoon,” you tell Lando, he looks surprised.

“You did?” He asks.

“When he told me about Pierre his reasons for assuming things between us,” you explain, “I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to lie to Charles, but I also didn’t want to cause more trouble so soon before the race. Eventually Charles talked further, so I didn’t say anything.”

“Do you think it’s worth it?” Lando asks you, “What do you mean?” You ask back.

“You don’t know how he will react when he finds out. It’s a good possibility that he will get really mad at you..”

“So?” You ask when Lando falls quiet.

“So, do you think I’m worth all the trouble this can cause between you and your brother?”

Lando doesn’t look at you anymore. He’s looking away from his screen. Maybe he shouldn’t have asked this question if he’s this afraid for your answer.

“Of course,” you tell him, Lando looks back at you.

“Really?” He asks, he did not expect you to answer something like this already.

“Yes. I hope it won’t cause a lot of trouble, but even if it does it’s more then worth it. If I didn’t think so there would have happened nothing after the first time,” you explain.

Lando sighs relieved, “I needed that.”

“Do you have a hotel room for yourself?” You ask Lando, he nods. “Maybe I can sneak in sometime this weekend,” you tell him.

“I’d really like that babygirl.”

“Y/N, there’s something here for you!”

You open your bedroom door and walk towards the living room, wondering what Charles means. You didn’t order anything, so what can it be? When you arrive in the living room, you quickly see what Charles means. Are those for you? There’s a beautiful bouquet of roses standing on the table, complete with a vase and everything. Who got you such nice flowers?

“Are those for me?” You ask Charles, “Yeah they did come with an envelope addressed to you,” he tells you while handing you the envelope.

“So is this from the one you’re texting the whole day?” Charles asks you, “He has a good taste.”

Did this come from Lando? That would be too sweet. You feel your phone vibrate, you take a look at the notification. It’s a snapchat from Lando. You decide to wait a bit before opening it. You are way too interested in the roses and the envelope.

“Uh I like to think so, I will probably find out if I open the envelope,” you tell Charles with a small doubt.

He knows you’re texting with someone all the time. It’s hard to miss. Charles already took the conclusion that you are dating someone, you didn’t deny it. However you not even sure about the label that belongs by you and Lando. But Charles has no idea who it is. He did ask you a couple times, but you didn’t tell him.

“When are you telling me more about him?” Charles asks you.

“I don’t know,” you tell Charles, “Maybe after this whole championship thing.”

Charles smiles at you, “I will wait.” He leaves the room, going back to his own to finish packing. Tomorrow evening you will head to Abu Dhabi. When you hear his door closing, you dare the open the envelope. The first thing you notice is a card, when you try to get it out you notice that there’s something else in the envelope.

Is that a necklace? You get it out quickly. Your guess is right. In your hand you’re holding a beautiful necklace. It’s a simple golden one, with a small charm of a heart. You smile at it. It’s beautiful. What did you do to deserve this? You quickly open the card.

I couldn’t help myself buying this after thinking about you wearing it. It would mean a lot to me if you like it. I think it suits you. Hopefully you will wear it this weekend, it matches your Ferrari merchandise ;) I’m staying at room 304 this week. Visit me?

You smile at the card. Quickly you pull out your phone, texting a message to Lando.

Y/N: your the sweetest, thank you so much

Lando: Do you like it?

Y/N: i love it

You put on the necklace, snapping a selfie for Lando to see. Sending him it quickly.

Lando: It looks even better on you while I imagined

Lando: will you be wearing it during the race?

Y/N: i will be wearing it all the time idiot

You put back the card in the envelope right on time. Charles walks in the living room, “So was it from your loverboy?” He asks you with a smile. You nod happily, “He even got me a necklace.”

“I didn’t know you two were already this serious,” Charles tells you. He looks at the necklace, “It’s nice Y/N. I’m glad some boy is treating you right.”

You smile at him, but in the mean time you rethink his words. You didn’t even realize it was this serious between you and Lando. But you can’t seem to stop smiling about the thought of being this serious with him. You can’t wait to see him again.

ttpdta review part one 🤠

let me preface this by stating that i am a swiftie first and person second in this situation. i have grown up with taylor and feel as if shes my big sister- yes i can make fun of her but if i see anyone else do it i will get fiercely protective. i do understand her music is not only art but also her form of therapy. that being said, throughout these nonsense notes i am constantly mentioning that taylor should go to therapy. i am aware of what she has said about therapy (and why she doesn’t go) but i would beg to differ with her…especially after this album release lol.

taylor is an extraordinary storyteller and song writer. i believe this album is full of evidence of that, but it also has some faults that prevent from being as good as i felt like it could have been. overall the album feels rushed.

i also feel like it’s important to recognize the elephant in the room. i know we probably all expected this to be a joe breakup album, so the fact that it turned out to be a “fuck you matty healy” album shook us all a little bit. i know matty had a controversial history, im not gonna sit here and defend him. i don’t know much about him other than what is forced against my will. i do however know that he struggles with mental health issues/ substance abuse/ addiction. i’m not gonna comment much about his personal issues, i don’t feel like that’s right and taylor’s constant references to drugs throughout ttpd definitely rubs me the wrong way. i should also mention i grew up with an active addict and do view things from that perspective, so i feel slightly triggered by the topic and my feelings about that may just be personal but i do mention that in my notes when it’s relevant.

lastly, i am not a music production girlie idk shit lol. i only know i am a aaron dessner stan so any song with his name im already biased towards and i am aware, if u don’t like that idk what to tell u lol. i just know what i feel like is “good” or “bad” but music is subjective🫶🏻

1. Fortnight:

Hate the functional alcoholic part. Like the beat, the chorus is catchy. One thing i love about a taylor swift song is that theres always a story and its always visual. I like the metaphor of the “good neighbors” of like having this teasing/ longing feeling for someone that you could have had a life with. “Your wife waters flowers/ i want to kill her + my husbands cheating/ i want to kill him” feeling like you were robbed of her life, feeling “all my mornings are mondays stuck in an endless february” reminiscing about the short period of time where you were together and convinced it would last forever (only for it to end before it even started). I do not listen to much post malone but i enjoyed his verse!! So many florida references we get it everything bad happens in florida.

2. Ttpd:

i thought this was the opening of Hey Stephen (the remix) or something at first. gotta say i absolutely love the way she sings “you left your typewriter at my apartment/ straight from the tortured poets department” i enjoyed the vibe of this song, and lyrics up until the “you smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate (OKAY SOOOOOOO ME CODED NGL I LAUGHED at this point i could let this lyric slide- bit then she had to mention the charlie puth and golden retriever thing and ngl it almost ruins the song entirely for me. Tbh when i first listened to the leak i thought this was a fake AI song and that i was sending around a fake leak bc these lyrics started to get a little weird to me. ‘Sometimes i wonder if youre gonna screw this up with me/ but you told lucy you’d kill yourself if i ever leave” …………girl i am begging you to see a therapist (side note did anyone else have a friend in hs whos bf would say that shit a lot?? I remember straight up fighting with a friend who refused to break up w her bf bc he would threaten to end his own life is she did and he was like 16? If an adult is saying that same shit i would be Very concerned not gossiping about it???) “i chose this cyclone with you” my first reaction was: ride the cyclone the musical? Overall i liked the first half but you lost me at charlie puth (hes the one with eyebrow right? I think i get him and miles teller mixed up) (i dont know who either of these men are)

3. My boy only breaks his favorite things:

Okay tbh i thought this was gonna be one of my least favorites, but the total opposite happened. I think this is one of my top 5 favorites on this album. I do think that there is a difference between a poem and a song and that they are not always interchangeable. I feel like if this was edited into a poem it would be KILLER. The visuals, the the story, the vocabulary, the sadness in it. “Im queen of sandcastles he destroys/ There was danger in the heat of my touch/ once i fix me/ hes gonna miss me/ i felt more when we played pretend then with all the kens / cause he took me out of my box” i feel like ever since folklore, taylors been trying to push these big fancy words and sometimes it feels awkward and forced, but this is one of the rare songs that doesn't suffer from that.

4. Down bad:

meh. Chorus is catchy. I dont love the narrative “fuck it if i cant have him/ i might just it would make no difference” but i also have never once experienced that over a person before lmao……….taylor go to therapy. Nothing really stands out about this to me otherwise. No offense, but it sounds like a generic jack antonoff song lol. Like maybe if another artist released this, i would enjoy it more but idk i wouldnt expect it from taylor i guess. Just kinda feels boring to me sorry if u enjoy it <3

5. So long, london:

oh man were done with british men now for real for real. “ two graves one gun. I'll find someone” its over for joe and matty (but thats fine if all she has to say about joe is what i think she said on this album i am happy i think We Get It…) Aaron dessner i love u (remember when he reposted me on his ig ahh).”i kept calm and carried the weight of the rift/ pulled him in tighter each time he was drifting away” + “I stopped trying to make him laugh/ stopped trying to drill the safe/ i didnt opt in to be our odd man out/ im pissed off you let me give you all of that youth for free” oof i FELT that one a LITTLE too hard. I think this is both a song about matty and joe- i think she had a life and an attachment to london just in general through both relationships, “im just mad as hell because i loved this place” and so reflecting back on how both are over and how all those plans with either are done. “You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days” OKAY kinda hate this phrase bc it feels like shes placing blame on whomever’s mental health/ depression, like as if they made the conscious decision to sacrifice the relationship solely. This very much feels like “how much sadness did you think i could take before i got bored???” overall top favorite songs bc it doesnt have too many cringey or odd lyrics and the production is 10/10 thank u aaron dessner ilysm king

6. But daddy i love him:

tbh when i got the leak this was the first song i listened to bc i thought it was gonna be the worst one and i wanted to get it over with (i was RIGHT until she dropped that second half……..) and i DIDNT have the lyrics obviously so i couldnt for the life of me figure out if she really said “im having his baby…..NO IM NOT!” until the VERY end of the song and bro…….the cringe. The cringe. The cringe. This is also when i started to question if this was real or if i was passing out a fake leak, lol. I dont understand how she could be saying this shit about matty. And like we all know it lol. “Sometimes growing up precocious sometimes means not growing up at all” …….but like does it??? I feel like thats kinda an oxymoron or something like i understand what shes trying to say and MOST of the time her metaphors and comparisons make sense to me but like this one doesnt. Growing up precocious means to grow up more advanced in maturity, how would that also mean not growing up at all? Is it just me getting stoned and overthinking things? “Ill tell you something about my good name/ its mine alone to disgrace” true that bestie ur doin a great job by being so politically quiet over the past couple of yeats after making a whole asss documentary about wanting to be on the right side of history. But I digress i am just one of those bitches performing soliloquies you'll never see. Overall this song is very weird and cringey imo and i wish it stayed in whatever vault it was sitting in lol.

7.Fresh out of the slammer: “In the shade of how he was feeling” -_- dont like this narrative already. I could honestly go on a rant about why i dont like this song but im going to spare for the sake of my sanity in this review of thirty one fucking songs but its along these lines “to the one who says im the girl of his american dreams” oh brother. otherwise i dont care for many of the lyrics, the chorus/ melody/vibe is mid i guess. It sounds like another jack song (i was right)

8. Florida!!!: “all my friends smell like weed or little babies” okay i know what she was trying to say but im SORRY you cant tell me she couldnt think of ANY other way to say her friends are either parents partiers lmao. Deserves jail for that but luckily the vibe and the chorus of the song are really catchy and florence’s voice is beautiful in it. “Well me and my ghost we had a hell of a time/ yes im haunted but im feeling just fine” CHILLS i loved it. I didnt think i would like this song but (maybe as much as i like no body, no crime which is meh) but no i lowkey love this song and think its really fun. Once again the drug references start to get heavy here in the album and like i mentioned i do get slightly triggered by drug mentions.

9. Guilty as sin?:

okay taylor we get it you masterbate. Another strong jack song and it’s pretty similar to others on the album so nothing besides the sexual lyrics stand out.

10. Whos afraid of little old me?:

“if you wanted me dead you should have just said/ nothing makes me feel more alive” ooooooooooh i love that. I feel like a live or an acoustic version of this song would give me CHILLS. “Is it a wonder i broke / lets hear one more joke/ then we can all laugh until i cry” honestly so relatable, “i was tame, i was gentle til the circus life made me mean” oh :( that hurt bc it just reminds me of the vibe shift during midnights era/ eras tour where it *feels* like she started to pull back from being taylor swift and started to become Taylor Swift (™) and the way her fans/ media has treated her made her mean or cold or something and that just makes me feel sad. “Whos afraid of little old me? You caged me and then you called me crazy! I am what i am cause you trained me! SO. WHOS. AFRAID. OF ME? Again the narcotics line kinda makes me feel icky but thats bc i have that thing about drugs and just dont LOVE all the references to them. Like i know its not that serious but theres a reason why i dont seek out artists that typically talk or write about that stuff ya know so its weird. Overall i think the production is one of the most unique ones on this part of the album.

11. I can fix him (no really i can):

i hate it all around i think. I hate the narrative of “i can fix him!! I can handle a dangerous man!!! No really i can!!!” there is a reason why this song is barely 3 mins long lol it should have been cut but i think taylor wanted to Be Edgy. i dont care for the productions or the lyrics, its very forgetful imo.

12. Loml:

okay i really thought this was gonna be a joe song (rip) so i was thinking it was gonna be really deep and sad and like it IS but with the context of it being the pt 2 fling with matty it doesnt seem like it now. Anyone who thinks this is not about matty please look at the lyrics and be so serious “whos gonna stop us from waltzing back into reklndled flames/ if we know the steps anyway” I think matty just said too much shit to taylor during their fling and taylor WAS truly convinced this her invisible string and he promised her a lot that he couldnt upkeep and ghosted her and she took it SUPER hard, i mean two breakups in one year is a lot (me, whos never been through a single breakup once). I just dont understand how she feels like matty is the greatest loss of her life. One of my favorite tracks on the album, “our field of dreams engulfed in fire/ your arsons match your somber eyes” a LOT of these lyrics are actually really good imo. I think im the only one that didnt find the “mr. steal your girl and make her cry” line idk i thought it was actually kinda neat, the phrasing of it, kinda contradicts the title “love of my life” because he was never that serious or respectful of her and only use her from the beginning. This is another song that i think would make KILLER poem over song. Overall i think the piano is haunting and a live version of this will make me die, thank u again aaron dessner 10/10

13. I can do it with a broken heart:

ngl i thought this was the opening to mastermind for a hot second- also gave me a scare on whether or not this was a fake leak lol. Catchy ass chorus but very YOYOK. “Breaking down i hit the floor/ All the pieces of me shattered/ as the crowd was shouting “more!” ooffffffff seeeeee that is exactly WHAT i was afraid she was feeling durning the eras tour after the joe breakup/ matty situation and all these stupid twitter and tik tok swiffers were out here overanalyzing EVERYTHING and demanding rep tv like every other day. “Im so depressed i act like its my birthday” …….okay taylor. Like a lot of people have said, i think she interchanges “depressed” for “sad” a lot and the two are not the same. I think taylor wrote this song (but specifically the “i cry a lot time but i am so productive” and was like “yup this part is gonna go viral on tik tok,” initially i wrote “feels like taylor saw that depression barbie commercial in barbie 2023 and wrote a song based on that” lol which i still agree with. Overall the production of this screams midnights reject lol, very jack antonoff. Over time this song has grown on me a lot. Originally i didnt care for it but now its kind of a bop but i think its bc its so similar to YOYOK. “Try and come for my job” @taylorswift deadass you couldn’t think of anything else to say instead. cmon. I was mostly on board until that very last part, just seemed very cheesy lol like its not a big deal but i thought it delivered well without it.

14. The smallest man who ever lived:

(aaron thank u for saving me and this entire album) “they just ghosted you/ now you know what it feels like” OUCH. “i dont even want you back i just want you to know/ if rusting my sparkling was the goal/ and i dont miss what we had but can someone give/ a message to the smallest man who ever lived” oh this was somber af. I am obsessed with the phrasing of the chorus. I also LOVE taylors deeper voice its def giving me the same feelings MTR gave me from folklore, that made me CRY and this was very similar. This is another classic taylor song that i could EASILY write like a ten page essay about if someone put a gun to my head. I know that its about a *romantic* relationship, but it feels general enough to be able to relate to anyone who is close to someone with an addiction or struggles with substances. A lot of addicts dont understand the impact of their addiction or their behaviors that they display while struggling. To meeeeee, this feels very much like “you were self centered and betrayed my trust, was any of this true? Real? Am i paranoid or is this that deep?” “it wasnt sexy once it wasnt forbidden” has me thinking lots of things. I think that describes taylors “type”if that makes sense? Like i said i would need to literally break this song down line by line like its ridiculous i have too many thoughts about this song i have listened to it on repeat six times by the time im typing this. “In public showed me off/ then sank in stoned oblivion” FUCK. “you treat her like an also-ran” honestly i have never heard of that phrase/word thank u dr. swift. “Were you sent by someone who wanted me DEAD/ did you sleep with a GUN underneath OUR BED/ were you writing a BOOK?/ were you a sleeper cell SPY? IN 5O YEARS WILL THIS BE ALL DECLASSIFIED?/ AND YOU’LL CONFESS WHY YOU DID IT!/ AND ILL SAY GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” tears were formed besties. Also love the gracie abrams reference. “And you deserve prison but you wont get time” i feel like is very metaphorical like you DESERVE to be punished for what you did to me but you won’t admit to the guilt, you wont admit your wrongdoings, you wont admit that i would have done anything for you and you have no problem replacing me. “You said normal girls were boring/ but you were gone by the morning” first of all red flag girlie, nonetheless heartbreaking. “And in plain sight you hid/ but you are what you did” i say this with all the love in my heart, someone take taylor swift to a really good really private therapist. I could say more but i think i need to move on because i am now on my eighth cyle of listening to this song.

15. The alchemy:

already kinda hate it. “What if i told you im back/ the hospital was a drag/ worst sleep i ever had” do you think taylor swift has ever been admitted to a real hospital in this context. Feels very out of place and like i said earlier i dont love the psych ward visuals/ references she keeps inserting in this album. “He jokes its heroin but this time with an e” thanks! I fucking hate that line so much. Feels very icky, not funny. I get what shes going for but it falls so flat for me. The football references (yall know my opinion on meathead!!!!!!!! I will not engage!!!) are fucking dumb. Production is kinda lame and uninterested. Will only listen to this song if by force and will not repeat it ive head enough lets move on.

i have Lots Of Thoughts. i don’t think anyone cares about what i have to say though so i don’t think i’ll bother posting the rest lol but i did do a lot of work so ill post just a bit to make myself feel better.

Random demon HCs (SFW)

Eyo, it's your girl, the one WHB poster who's interested in this game for all the wrong reasons with something non-gameplay related for once! Part of what definitely interests me is the demons in general and how they'll play off with each other + the MC. Doesn't even have to be related to the sexy stuff - some of these demons I feel have the potential to have interesting and complex dynamics with each other, particularly the Avisos demons!

So, um. Yeah. Enjoy my brainrot-

(Also I will be particularly biased towards the demons who've caught my eye. Refer to tier list below. So, um. Yeah. Sorry about that orz)

I feel like out of all the demons in Hell, Belial would be the one most attuned to music. He'd be the one to replay songs again and again, probably wearing noise-cancelling headphones so that he'll truly be immersed in the music. He probably used to love singing as a child, so when his voice was taken away, he was completely and utterly devastated. To compensate, he'd take up an instrument (like an acoustic guitar) or learn how to compose, so that at least he can express his love for music and performance...

Gusion desperately wants to cut down on work, but it's hard. He spends countless days and nights just going around solving problems - and there's an abundance of them in Hell. Honestly, he thought of creating systems to help streamline his work and problem-solving shenanigans, but holy shit everyone just loves wrecking those too, huh. After calculating and approximating the time and effort required to perform his duties, merely solving issues as they crop up is the more effective and less tiring solution to everything. Which is saying something, when that in itself is already tiring as fuck.

Leviathan is a gentleman, through and through. Cool, calm, and collected on the outside, he practically perfected the art of hiding away his negative emotions behind a charming smile and a no-nonsense attitude on the battlefield. The only people able to pry away his emotions from beneath the mask are his fellow kings, the demons of Hades, and eventually MC. And even then, he'll only be able to show his most vulnerable sides to his nobles and, again, MC (eventually). It's hard to win his trust and openness, what with his jealousy often getting in the way of him forming healthy relationships with others.

Beelzebub is actually a pretty bad cook. Like, Mystery Food X levels of bad - at least, starting out. Now, though? Well, the people who said they enjoyed his cooking have somehow deluded themselves to think it's good before the side effects kick in. Does it have hallucinogenic properties? Is it a side effect of Beelzebub's tendency to have weird things happen around him? Or perhaps he really did improve on his cooking? Who knows...who knows.

Naberius and Gusion are the perfect drinking buddies. They'd get together at a random pub somewhere in Hell when they have the time, and they'll spend their time getting buzzed while unloading everything weighing them down at the moment. Honestly, this started as an effort to help Naberius - letting out his emotions bit by bit to ensure everyone's safety is much more preferable than letting his anger and annoyance explode to an extent he becomes a Kerberos. Sometimes, they'll be joined by Bael, although rarely as he is standing in for Beelzebub. More often, Satan shows up and chats with them, as amiable as always - and they end up being his main listening ears if he needs to vent. Satan's secrets are always safe with them, and for that, he is forever thankful.

Leraye and Paimon often make things together! The former has a knack for sewing, while the latter has a lot of ideas for clothes and stuffed toys! Working together, they'd be able to create a large variety of trendy clothing and cute plush toys.

I know a lot of people HC this but yes, Marbas would be a gentle giant. While he's aroused by being restrained, I'd like to think the reason why he's always restrained is because something bad happened while he was doing something while not being restrained. Perhaps he accidentally killed someone with his sheer strength, during a more "daily life" scenario. While his strength is his pride, his ability to heal is a larger source of pride for him - which is why he agrees with the notion that putting restraints on him is for the best.

Sitri is a tea connoisseur! He likes tea, knows which tea leaves are the best, how to make specific blends of tea, how long each tea needs to steep in order to bring out a specific sort of flavor...and among the demons in Hell, there are few who can appreciate the finer details in tea brewing like him. Some of these demons include Barbatos (surprisingly enough), Foras, Bael, Bathin, and Paimon. They regularly get together to sample his teas!

Whenever Bathin wants someone to accompany him in his travels, Amon often takes him up on his offer. They'll wander around without any prior destination, dealing with problems that crop up during their travels along the way. They both live in the moment while traveling, letting the winds dictate where they'll head to next. Amon deals with most of the logistics of travel while Bathin would focus more on finding and learning about the points of interest wherever they end up. An MC who enjoys traveling would love being travel buddies with them!

Mammon's way of showing his affection is gift-giving. Though his gifts might come across as overboard sometimes. Because what do you mean he already sent over some more jewels your way? Nobody needs that many jewels, sir! Either way, Tartaros is a prospering land purely because of the many treasures Mammon gives away to his people. Whether or not these overflowing treasures gets sent off to other areas is a different story entirely.

Andrealphus would be the most sympathetic towards MC, I feel. He knows how it feels to lose someone you care about deeply, to have your life ripped away from you in an instant. He had already been in that position a long time ago, and it would greatly please him if MC would let him support them any way he can - up to and including sticking by their side to protect them.

Out of all the demons in Paradise Lost, I feel like Morax would be the one most versed in the logistics involving healing and first aid. Which is understandable - his method of healing involves transferring his patient's wounds onto him in the form of pain. As a result, he'll have to be able to gauge just how far into the healing process he should perform with his abilities - especially on the battlefield. He'd have his nose buried in books during his free time just so he can increase his healing efficacy.

Is it too spicy if I say this is IPK themed 👀

No but for real this is a great flaw of so many Indian tv shows and unfortunately, IPK is no exception. A "perfect" female lead is NOT EQUAL TO a well written female lead and Khushi falls into this trope.

I get that it might seem like, if any thing, the show makers are biased towards Khushi. The narrative portrays Khushi as morally righteous even when she isn't (her lecturing about marriage and religion to Arnav and La; her bringing Shyam back against Arnav's wishes; her leaving Arnav for Aarav etc etc) and posits her as a totally innocent victim in many scenarios without giving any acknowledgement of her critical errors in judgement that led to specific situations - such as keeping Shyam's secret. But the truth is, these biases are only the result of the absolute lack of care they put towards writing and developing Khushi's character arc. And of course in general, she's better written than majority of Indian tv heroines because in general, IPKKND is a better written show. But within this same show, you have the example of a brilliantly written anti-hero with complex and satisfying character development; so it hurts to see how they have simply not bothered giving the same level of in-depth and CONSISTENT characterization for Khushi.

No matter how off the rails the show was, or whatever their constraints were with regards to commercial or channel expectations, they rarely compromised on Arnav's characterization which was always crystal clear and razor sharp. In the midst of the silly Swami track, the nonsense Sheetal track, heck in the laughably ridiculous Miss India track, Arnav was not made to do or act in un-Arnav like ways, for the most part. There are a few exceptions, but they're not very noteworthy and don't impact the plot much. They had a clear idea of who he is and what he would do and not do, and they stuck to it.

Not so with Khushi. In a weird parallel to in-universe dynamics, the meta narrative too picks Khushi as the most convenient sacrificial lamb whose characterization is sacrificed to meet channel demands, tv show format demands, and so on. Need to shoe-horn a comedy track where it makes no sense? Why not reduce her IQ several points and have her do totally illogical things with no rhyme or reason for some laughs? Need a low-effort way to justify Khushi spending time with Arnav? Why not make the "mature for her age" Khushi into a childish caricature who plays at being Gopi Bahu to annoy Arnav! Need a sick Arnav for Khushi to take care of? Why not have a selfless and responsible Khushi suddenly transform into someone so selfish and irresponsible, she plots to deliberately make her diabetic husband starve.

On the one hand, they erase all of her positive qualities to give her a host of flaws (stupidity, immaturity, irresponsibility) that are never explored as flaws, but just tools for comedy, picked up and abandoned at whim. On the other hand, her actual flaws and mistakes that could have used an in-depth arc are just...left alone. In fact what even are her flaws? As per the show, she has practically none - they are only lovable quirks.

Arnav's extreme reactions often eclipse Khushi's mistakes; we nor her get the time to sit with and reflect on her errors, instead the focus immediately shifts to him. Her mistakes are so disproportionally punished, it leaves no room for her character development. Character development is best prompted by moments of reflection, regret, and redemption. We get very, very few of these with Khushi - there's simply no space for it in the narrative of the show.

Its a very subtle distinction that is hard to pinpoint at times. For example, we see Khushi's pain showcased front and center time and again - its the classic suffering heroine trope! But is her trauma from Shyam, from Arnav, heck even from her own family, EVER explored in any real meaningful and satisfying way? No - because Khushi's interiority, just like her brain power, maturity, and sense of responsibility, disappears and reappears as per the convenience of the narrative.

You might say its unfair to compare her to Arnav, who is undoubtedly the protagonist of the show. Unusually for romcoms, Arnav is our main character and Khushi is the "love interest". So perhaps we can't expect her character to be explored with the same range and nuance his is. Okay. But consistency, surely, is something we can expect from Khushi? Why is Khushi EVEN MORE inconsistently written than the villain, Shyam, and supporting characters like Anjali?

There's a lot I do love about the way Khushi is written but I HAVE to sift through the material to find the good stuff which is often in contradiction to the bad stuff. Post the elopement, we see really very little consistent characterization with Khushi and the show's overall writing quality heavily suffers as a direct result of this.

And this IS a sexist trope. It falls into the madonna-whore dichotomy where you can only write 2 types of lead female characters: a perfect angel, who is always morally right and usually suffering without much else going on internally; or the vamp, who has her flaws and her complexities with which she entertains us until she is suitably humiliated and punished by the narrative.

A woman with flaws, allowed to learn and grow from them into a more mature and evolved human being??? Who ever heard of such a thing??? Certainly not ITV writers, circa 2011 (or now).

I also saw a Genuine Hater and I have not yet recovered from the psychic damage. It's actually kind of a bummer to go through a tag for fun and be met with this level of rage and negativity over nothing. "I'd rather he be dead than see him interact with her again" alright maybe go take a nap. I feel like this person is working off more on bias and personal headcanons than anything else. I find Phee super grating but you can see Tech growing to like her throughout the show. He's not being held at gunpoint. He's fine.

Yeah, the fact that that post came across my dash because I follow the Tech hashtag was a major bummer. I don't think he'd approve, lol. We definitely saw the same post and I have now blocked that person. I'm not sure why they think Tech hates her? Feels like some big time projection going on. I found Phee grating at first, it was kind of a weird way to introduce a protagonist character, in my opinion, but I've grown to appreciate her for being confident and kind. And the writers clearly meant to show that Tech liked her, so anything else is definitely coming from people's personal biases. 🤷‍♀️ Not enough people stop and think, hey, is this what the *creators of the characters* intended?? Phee is not a real person. Everything that exists about her was written by the people that made her and they CLEARLY did not write her as a bully or a narcissist or cruel to autistic people or any of that other nonsense. She likes the Batch and they like her. That's canon, period.

And you make a good point about him not being held at gunpoint. Acting like she can bully him so easily really takes away from the completely confident and competent Tech that we see, like he's scared of her or something. He can handle himself. He'd absolutely tell her off if he didn't want her around.

Out of respect for the Mohegan tribe of the Pequot people in Connecticut, I stay away from using terms like wen**go and sk**walk** in my fanfic.

I'm not native American. It would be unwise of me to dig into things I dont have a greater understanding of. Especially when it involves things that marginalised people are still believing in and practising spiritually.

Although I research extensively; I'm not flawless in my execution. But in my years of interest in native culture, history, and contemporary issues - I have learned that those two words are often misused for shock value in stories. I don't want to contribute to that.

There is a wide smörgårdsbord of other native folklore that can be used that won't bring further mysticism onto a still existing and practising group of people, though.

Now, these are mainly from a Navajo perspective, but the various nations and tribes do share a lot of them.

I prefer when my sources are directly from first hand. Thankfully, there are a lot of YouTube channels like these now that make it easier.

I've bought books when I was younger that was written by outsiders looking in, and they're not always that good - I understand the irony, as I am probably in the same boat as them here (being an interested outsider, that is). But I think, what I've learned from those authors mistakes, academically speaking, are two things:

1) Be aware that you are speaking as a secondary source of information and that you are biased as an outsider. Remind people of this, and admit when you don't know something rather than start guessing.

2) Have respect. They are not some mystical group of people that once was. They are still here and practising their beliefs.

There's nothing wrong with including representation, and doing your best to be accurate and respectable about it, but the way I see it is that - do your best and don't let your ego get the best of you.

Yes, it would be fun to write Caleb encountaring dark forces of Pequot folklore, or dip into a Demon Realm lens of what those lores """really""" are (aka from the boiling isles) - but that's incredibly dismissive of the spiritual beliefs of those tribes.

I try to tread cautiously there. And so should you.

It's nice to have fun, but sometimes it's more important to be respectful. I'm against anything that snubs creativity, but if you think this limits you, then you're not seeing the opportunity for what it is. Force yourself to find something new and a bit more respectfully inclusive.

In my caleb fanfic, I've included a Mohegan man by the name Nashoba. Now, instead of using Nashoba as yet another overused trope of making a native person a mystical guide for a white guy - he's instead just some guy Caleb admires (bisexual panic, that is). So there's historical accuracy, including native people in a town like Gravesfield, without making it all about the "mysticism" of a tribe.

I also discovered that Gravesfield is pretty much based on Hartford, Wethersfield Connecticut:

So I'm getting most of my information from the official historical society website and the Pequot historical museum website. Amongst other academic sites.

Long story short, there are cooler and less disrespectful folklore to write about than that one in particular.

You could proudly tell your friends that you were Aone's girlfriend. Unfortunately, your friends were biased about your boyfriend because of Aone's outwardly scary appearance.

“No but…he looks like a bully”

"Yes. Does he treat you badly?"

“Did he do the scar on your knee?”

As usual, they managed to get on their nerves.

“What nonsense are you doing? I fell off a horse last week. Luckily I survived with only one minor scratch. He also put the tape on my knee.”

"You can’t be serious!"

“I am quite serious. He may look like a terrible bully from afar, but he is never what he seems.”

"Is he just being nice to you, then?"

“I have never seen him mistreat his teammates or anyone else. Besides…who knows? Maybe you don't deserve to see the real good side of him. So he's not really showing you how kind and bland he is."

They laughed at the answer. Obviously, no matter what you said, they wouldn't be convinced that Aone wasn't what they thought she was.

“This is crazy. Open your eyes, fool! That guy is a bully. Besides, I've heard that when he gets on the train, no one sits next to him. The team captain punched Futakuchi in the shoulder”

“Who knows what Futakuchi did? Also, Aone doesn't hit anyone for nothing. Either something happened to make him very angry or he couldn't control his power. Doesn't anyone sit next to you? Don't be funny! I'm sitting next to him. Others may fear him, but his kindness and cuteness never frighten me. You are low-thoughted people.”

“You are blinded by love. If you ask me, try to save yourself from this mental patient as soon as possible"

“Watch your tongue! That boy you call mentally ill is the strongest middle blocker on the volleyball team. He’s such an iron wall. Plus it's way better than those cool kids you're dating. Don't ever laugh at him or blab around about him!”

“It is no coincidence that we are here at the same time. My dumb classmates pissed me off again. I hate when they talk back and forth about you. They don't know that you have a loving heart. Seriously, none of them deserve to see your true personality. People are really cruel and prejudiced…that's why I don't want to make friends. Except for you of course"

Again, Aone didn't react to you. He was just listening to you. He knew that even though he didn't answer you, he could understand your feelings.

"Come on! Will I always talk to your back like this? Okay, I know you don't like to talk. But you don't like talking to me too? I'm literally taking words from your mouth with tweezers"

You sighed and smiled slightly. You turned around and sat down with your back to his

“Well okay. Let's not talk. Then show me a sign of how I can get along with you without speaking."

You rested the back of your head on his back and took a deep breath. Then you turn yourself to the right, face her back, and wrap your arms around her waist. You put your cheek on his back. You could hear her breathing and heartbeat

"Do you know?…I love you. No matter what they say. I'm not ashamed to be with you. Quite the contrary, I'm proud to be your girlfriend. If you're just with me, that's enough for me. I don't want anything else. I don't need any friends but you anyway. Lovers are also like each other's best friend"

You wouldn't fall off the horse like last time. But it didn't turn out the way you think. You lost control of the horse, just as the horse jumped over the obstacle, the reins slipped from your hand and you were blown up.

The last thing you remember was being in the air. You couldn't remember how you hit the ground and what happened after that

You opened your eyes in the infirmary. He was surrounded by your trainer, your fellow riders, and a few doctors.

“How did this happen?”

“Suddenly he lost control of the reins and fell down instantly”

“She walked away from accident. She's conscious. No cracks or cracks anywhere. Just let her rest.”

Luck wasn't really smiling in your face. Just two weeks ago you fell off your horse and injured your knee, and now you're covered in bruises.

This was normal for your trainer. You were still a beginner and you were going to learn by hovering

You're alone with your trainer after everyone leaves

“Yes y/n-chan. Falling off the horse is normal, but you need to be a little more careful. You heard the doctor, rest well. Is there someone to take you home? Do you want me to inform your family?"

You weren't fully sober yet. You had difficulty speaking. It occurred to him to call Aone. must have wondered about you

"No. I hafta call my boyfriend. He can take me home. I don't want to worry my family for nothing"

"Ok. Wait, I'll get your bag"

When he looked outside, it was getting dark. You knew Aone's temper. If he couldn't reach you, he was going crazy with curiosity.

You answered your phone as soon as your coach brought your bag. You saw the screen full of missed calls and messages from Aone.

Y/n…where are you?

Pick up that phone!

Are you gonna make me worried sick?

If you don't response it I'm really going to the police

You immediately called Aone. He picked up the phone instantly. There was fear and anxiety in his voice. Anger stemming from some fear

“Y/n! Finally! Why don't you pick your phone up! I've been calling you for hours! I thought something happened to you, i went through hell and back”

"I am sorry. I didn't want to worry you. But unfortunately I fell off the horse again. This time is worse than before”

"What did you say? Are you ok? I'll come and get you"

You tried to get off the stretcher

“That's why I called you. Please come get me Aone"

“I'm coming right now. I'll be there in a short while" and hung up the phone.

You got dressed and waited outside the training ground. Aone arrived within minutes. You stood up as soon as you saw him.

“Aone…so you got here”

He took her face in his hands and examined the scars on his face.

“God! Don't you ever pay attention y/n?"

He kissed you on the forehead

“It happened in an instant. The reins slipped out of my hands.”

You were dizzy and almost lost your balance.

"Are you ok?" ' she asked, holding her shoulders.

"I feel dizzy. I am not able to stand”

He took you in his arms and hugged you tightly. You lay your head on his chest

“Get some rest. I will call a taxi. Then I'll drop you home"

Hi Anon,

In a way, I get why Taehyung in particular gets under the skin of people who bias Jimin mostly, and the same in reverse. Taehyung is a very different person from Jimin, and they've both explicitly said so.

There are common themes in the sorts of clashes Vmin have. For example, I remember during their earlier years (circa 2013 or so) when Jimin and V had a fight over bunk beds and the reaction Jimin and V-biased people overall had to it. The top bunk was preferred by both, Vmin are chingu so there's no hierarchy (which normally would have settled this issue), though technically Jimin is older. Jimin offered the top bunk to Taehyung initially, perhaps to be polite and considerate, but later got upset with Taehyung when V refused to switch with him, which is something that they all did from time to time but not always.

I remember Jimin-biased people viewed the cause of the dispute as Jimin being considerate and simply wanting consideration in return, and so V’s behaviour was selfish; while V-biased people viewed it as Jimin people-pleasing, where if Jimin wanted the top bunk in the first place he should have simply done what he wanted, instead of 'saying one thing and meaning another'. And that Tae had simply taken Jimin at his word, assuming the bottom bunk is what he wanted, and so Tae did what he wanted too, which was to take the top bunk.

Lol.

I see the same themes in their infamous dumpling fight. Their personalities are fundamentally different. It doesn't mean one is right or wrong, just different. So if you bias a member because you see yourself in them, your natural nemesis will be someone whose personality clashes with yours more.

From that standpoint, I get it, but like, clearly they're their own people, they certainly have found a way to make their personality differences work for them, and both Jimin and V have said they've gained a deeper love and appreciation for each other by acknowledging their differences. It's also true that over the years, Jimin, like the rest of the members, has developed a more honest and balanced mix of doing what he actually wants vs considering the other members' needs. Jimin knows how and when to assert himself so he's never a pushover, and Tae has developed a better awareness of other people's needs. So whatever vibes you're feeling, Vmin can both handle themselves.

But there's more. Taehyung in general can appear more detached from everyone else in the group, for various reasons. One reason is that many times he does act more like a co-worker to other members than anything else. I remember during the Japanese NYE interview they did in 2020, when they were asked if they feel more like co-workers or peers/classmates, Taehyung was one of only two members in the group who selected co-workers (Jin was the other member who chose that option).

This too isn’t a big deal, it doesn’t mean Tae and Jin don’t love the members or want to remain in BTS for as long as that’s viable, but there’s also no denying that’s a vibe that comes across sometimes. He can be detached and we’ve seen the culmination of that before, such as in Taekook’s SOOP conversation where they both admitted they’d drifted apart. Here, ironically considering the ask, Vmin seemed closer and Tae relied on Jimin to arrange isolated access to Jungkook to have that conversation. And in the years since then it’s clear Tae has made concerted effort to strengthen his relationship with Jungkook again. I’ve talked about this before but this is very natural for any friend group. Like it feels weird for me to even write this all out, because it should be common sense for anyone who actually keeps up with BTS and has had friends before.

Right now Tae appears closer to Hobi (he’s had a man crush on him since debut lol, IMO) and Jungkook, than other members. The reality could be different but that’s what it seems like to me. Is there a soulmate bond between Vmin? They say there is, but I don’t see it. I don't think I've ever seen it. Chingu relationships in general are a bit odd. In Korea your chingu is like your designated friend, the person you’re supposed to like and spend time with more than anyone else, except maybe your spouse. But in reality, it takes on many different forms, obviously, and Vmin’s to me seems like they have an implicit understanding to be there if the other needs it, but not much beyond that.

Which brings me to the ‘him not posting’ part of your ask.

So what?

So what if Tae didn’t post for Jimin?

Seriously, what do you think Tae thinks is most important for Jimin? Because that's what actually matters here. Do you think Tae feels that Jimin would be more hurt to not receive a public acknowledgement from him? Or that a private dismissal/un-acknowledgement would be more hurtful to Jimin? Because that's the end goal of what you're implying in your ask Anon. If Tae really wanted to hurt Jimin or if he felt some type of way about Jimin's Billboard Hot 100 win or FACE, he'd ignore Jimin's accomplishment privately in his everyday dealings with Jimin. You and I would never know. Whatever he posts or doesn't post publicly is entirely irrelevant.

There's also this thing a few jikookers are dropping in my inbox about Tae's behaviour with Jungkook relative to jikook. Your asks remind me of a comment about Jimin's behaviour from a taekooker I read somewhere, who said they think Vmin are frenemies and/or only co-workers at best (because that's essentially what you're describing their relationship to be too, Anon).

They said and I quote:

"Jimin is doing it really brilliantly. Uses ambiguous answers to questions, doesn't miss the opportunity to mention Jungkook's name, makes him feel like he always knows best what Jungkook does and what he likes best.

It's a little irritating. More annoying than making sure the jikook is a relationship. It seems to me that this is how Jimin gets the audience's attention."

I've got asks sitting in my inbox that sound very identical to that, just switch out Jimin for Tae. It's weird.

The sort of questions about who posted for what at which time, also remind me of taekookers breaking out the stopwatch to determine if Jimin was indeed with Jungkook at 4 AM when the Billboard Hot 100 news broke, when Jimin seemed to have been with / talking to other members at the time too. We can rationalize how none of their comments contradicted each other and that Jimin was indeed with Jungkook simply by taking all their comments at face value. And yet, I've got a joker in my inbox debating comments about hair lengths for Vmin to prove a theory about jikook being together on Vhopekook's live...

Shippers across the board tend to think the same way, that's why they're shippers after all. But jikookers generally have a good deal of sense to take what's there at face value because jikook are literally always jikooking. You don't have to contort your mind into pretzels to convince yourself Jimin is in a room with Vhope therefore they are fine. Because even if he wasn't, jikook would still be fine.

You're free to feel however you feel, but when I see jikookers run on with this line of thinking, it bores me ngl, so the next time you send this sort of ask I'll likely ignore it. You're better off going to other blogs if this is something you feel the need to constantly talk about.

Thanks for the ask! I’m not sure whether to answer for the Silmarillion or LOTR, so maybe I’ll do both?

The character everyone gets wrong:

For LOTR, I answered this one way here, but there are a lot of other ways to answer it! I also think people get Elladan and Elrohir wrong. This may be a weird hill to die on because they’re small characters in the book, but I HATE how they’re represented in fanon. They’re made into carbon copies of the Harry Potter twins, who I already don’t like (ugh, I hate even mentioning Harry Potter here). I’m a twin myself, and I’m sick of twin characters being shoehorned into the goofy prankster role. It feels like a cheap attempt at comic relief because people don’t know how to write anything else. Especially when it’s just not how Elladan and Elrohir are represented in the book.

For the Silmarillion, I answered this one way here. I think the Weasley twin treatment also gets applied to Amrod and Amras, which is particularly nonsensical because the lives of all the Fëanorians are all extremely dark and tragic (the whole Silmarillion is tragic!). I get that sometimes people want to write happy, funny fanfiction, but can we please let go of the twins-as-wacky-pranksters trope?

Description of the worst take you’ve seen on tumblr:

For LOTR, I answered this another way here. But I wasn’t even thinking of another worst take, which is so bad that I’d erased it from my mind… the idea that the LOTR movies were an improvement on the books. "But nobody thinks this!" you will say. They do, and I’ve seen this take here on tumblr. WE HATES IT! There are good things about the movies (music, sets, acting, costumes, etc.) but literally nothing can come close to the beauty of the books. And besides, the movies deviated from them in many inexcusable ways—it would take to long to even list them all.

For the Silmarillion, one of the worst takes I’ve seen is the idea that Maeglin was really an innocent victim all along who was unfairly slandered by a supposedly biased history. I understand that sometimes it’s interesting to deconstruct the story, but at a certain point you’re just throwing it out the window. I’m not saying you can’t sympathize with him to a degree—he was clearly abused by his father as a child. But then he internalized those lessons—of his father’s possessiveness and violence towards women—and that was how he treated Idril.

I also know there’s a discussion among fans about Maeglin’s race, because earlier drafts described him as swarthy—and it’s certainly problematic for the dark-skinned male character to be the creepy one—but Tolkien’s later drafts described him as pale. So do with that what you will.

Which ships are the most annoying?

I don’t like the prevalence of Thorin/Bilbo. That’s partly because I hate the Hobbit movies, where the pairing mostly comes from, and it’s just not my cup of tea. People should write what they want, of course. I just don’t see the appeal.

For the Silmarillion, Sauron/Celebrimbor. It’s just everywhere, and I’m tired of it. Also, I get that some people are into darker relationships, but a lot of what I’ve seen of the pairing (even though I actively avoid it) is bizarrely romanticized. Like you guys do realize Sauron is evil, right? Even if he literally seduced Celebrimbor, I don’t think he’d be wracked with guilt about anything. People say they like this pairing because it’s dark, but then they turn Sauron into a poor little meow meow full of romantic longing and riddled with guilt because he tortures and kills his lover, and it’s just weird. I don’t think Sauron had romantic feelings for anyone, and I really don’t think he felt bad about torture and murder.

Worst part of fanon:

LOTR: I’m not even sure what LOTR fanon is anymore, probably because I try to ignore it. I guess I don’t like how the movie versions of characters and events have taken over. You know who also gets Weasleyified? Merry and Pippin, and it’s the movies’ fault. It’s not that I don’t enjoy them in the movies to a degree—but some of their best moments in the books were cut out.

The Silmarillion: I don’t even know if I could choose the worst part of fanon. I find Silmarillion fanon particularly frustrating, because in a fanbase where a lot of people don’t know the Silmarillion well, fan interpretations often get passed off as canon. People absorb fanon thinking that it’s canon, and that’s why you get so many posts that say things like, “Wait, I just realized Maglor ISN’T the nice Fëanorian.” (To be clear, I’m not judging people who say this. They’re unlearning fanon, which is good. It’s just a sign that fanon interpretations are taking over too much when you end up with a lot of people having to revise these big misconceptions.)

Ultimately, it’s just frustrating to me that fanon is so prevalent in either the LOTR or the Silmarillion fandom, because the source material is WAY more interesting. I might be swinging a bat at a hornet’s nest by saying all of this—but the asks were meant to be controversial!

You can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc):

For both LOTR and the Silmarillion, I don’t understand why people think Sauron can mind-read. That’s not a thing, but it’s astonishingly prevalent in fan interpretations. The worst part is, I don’t think people realize that mind-reading Sauron is a fan-invented concept.

Interpersonal Aftermath, Abigail and Patrick Edition

Ben and Patrick | Ben and Abigail | Ben and Riley | Riley and Abigail

"I don’t think there’s whole articles worth of material here (I hope) but let’s spend a few minutes with each these."

My dumb ass really did think I was going to fit three different duos into this article and be done with this little series because there "wasn't much to say" about them.

I have found some things to say.

So anyway, now we get into the tertiary relationships. These are duos that don't directly interact much in the movie, but will find themselves increasingly in each others' orbits at the post-movie relationships progress.

Abigail and Patrick

Abigail and Patrick have an interesting dynamic because although they don’t interact on screen very much, their positions relative to Ben also put them in relationship with each other, and they have pretty far to go between the events of the film and the months after the treasure is found.

Patrick and Abigail’s meeting is both iconic (in the National Treasure loving world anyway) and pretty hostile.

PATRICK Is she pregnant? BEN Well, if she is, are you gonna leave the woman carrying your grandchild standing out in the cold? ABIGAIL (to Riley) I look pregnant?

Granted, that hostility is directed toward Ben, and Abigail just happens to be caught in the crossfire.

Patrick’s first assumptions about Abigail are that:

she’s some floozy Ben got involved with (bad)

she’s a fellow treasure hunter (worse)

He might soften towards her a little when he learns that she doesn’t actually want to be here.

PATRICK And he dragged you two into this nonsense? ABIGAIL Literally.

However, it’s like three minutes of screen time later when Abigail makes the decision to actively involve herself in the treasure hunt (which she does by insisting that she be the one to put lemon juice on the Declaration).

Patrick is mostly focused on Ben and the fact that his son has gone from ‘ruined his life treasure hunting’ to Ruined His Life Treasure Hunting™. But Abigail is there and she is involved and he probably doesn’t need any more that that to dislike her.

Abigail, for her part, gets kidnapped, flung from a speeding van, and semi-re-kidnapped before insisting she come along to make sure these clowns don’t destroy a priceless artifact and now the guy who she was kinda flirting with before she knew he was trying to rob her museum’s dad is yelling at her? I mean he’s not yelling. He’s not even talking to her directly, but the disappointment is palpable. She just stepped in the middle of what’s clearly a big family drama and she can’t help but feel she’s on the wrong side of it, no matter where she positions herself.

And obviously Patrick’s comment is weird enough that she makes a point to ask Ben about it later.

So the footing their start out on is not exactly great.

They survive the Trinity stair sequence together, and there’s nothing like shared trauma to bond a squad, but they’re really both bonding with Ben, not each other. As we discussed in the Ben and Patrick and Ben and Abigail articles, these two relationships are the emotional pivots that a lot of the movie hinges on.

As Ben and Abigail get closer, Abigail and Patrick are going to have to get over the hurdle of awkwardness they started out on. Patrick especially has some biases to overcome about Abigail. Of course, all he has to do is talk to her for a few minutes to see that she is basically the opposite of the person he thought she was when she showed up at his door:

not a floozy

not a treasure hunter

not just a fling for Ben

not just enamored with Ben’s Indiana Jones shtick*

(*Patrick would know, he’s was Ben before Ben was)

Actually, pretty must as soon as they start talking Abigail and Patrick realize they have a lot in common. They could debate Revolutionary War history until even Ben gets bored. Abigail and Patrick both have a taste for the detail and nuance in a way that Ben doesn’t. Or, I should say, in a different way than Ben does.

Ben is necessarily obsessive about details relating to the treasure, but I don’t see him being quite as detail-oriented with topics that don’t touch the treasure. Ben is a big picture person. He sees the connections between disparate events and people, the threads that tie it all together. Abigail, and Patrick in his post-treasure hunting years, are more depth people. They can focus in on a very specific topic not because it connects to something else, but simply because it interests them.

Ben, for example, would probably not read a 400 page book about 18th century textiles cover to cover if he didn’t anticipate some kind of connection to the treasure. Abigail absolutely would and has read several 400 page books about 18th century textiles cover to cover long before she knew the treasure existed.

However, the question is, when do Abigail and Patrick have that first conversation?

I imagine it’s not right away. Too much is going on with the treasure and with both of them re/building their relationships with Ben. So that awkwardness between them festers for a little too long. It isn’t until after a few museum exhibit openings and more than a few uncomfortable non-conversations when they actually start talking to each other.

By the time Ben and Abigail start officially dating a few months later though, I imagine Patrick is Team Abigail all the way.

And, though I do love to ignore the existence of Book of Secrets, I do like how much Patrick is still on Team Abigail after the breakup.

BEN Temporary till I find a new place. PATRICK Find the old one. I like her.

He can tell that Ben's being an idiot. Everyone can tell that Ben's being an idiot.

Frosty Ruins Where Is Anne Frank

I have to admit going into this one I have my biases against it. First of all it was made in 2022 and nothing produced in the last 5-6 years has been good. Also because it's about nazis and jewish people I can't imagine it's going to be a faithful or accurate movie in the slightest because nobody in hollywood understands even the first thing about what a nazi is. Other than that I'm going into this movie totally blind, never heard of it before, never saw a trailer and am not even aware of the premise beyond the title.

The movie opens with text on a black screen and starts with a typo saying "the diary is one of the famous books ever written" I think you might be missing a word or two there pal. This is the opening sequence...you didn't bother to proof read the first ten seconds of your movie? It's two sentences and you fucked it up.

I don't know who made this but the art style is like if studio ghibli was tumblrized. It's like a weird combo of cheap netflix cartoon character designs but done in the style of an expensive japanese anime. It looks weird and I don't like it but it's not as cancerous to look at, the art itself is not off putting enough to discard it based on look alone.

What is off putting is the premise, the imaginary girl that Anne Frank is writing to comes to life and goes looking for Anne. The words of the diary magically swirl into life...there's just something that feels off ethically with this one. Like that it's exploitive in some way but I can't quite put my finger on it yet.

Our first look at the nazis is as I feared...absurd. The nazis march down the street in all black cloaks like they're the fucking nazgul, and they don't look human, their eyes are totally black and their faces are ghostly white and expressionless. It's actually a perfect representation of what demonizing something is. Now I'm not saying they weren't bad guys...but they were human. That should be the primary lesson people take away from nazi Germany...the horrors and retarded nonsense that thinking people were convinced to do. That's the horror of the story of the holocaust, that people who were once friends and neighbours are now hunting each other like animals, stripping them of their basic rights and dignity and doing so in the full belief that they were doing the right thing. When you turn a nazi into this snarling inhuman demon you unlearn that lesson.

Now I've never read Anne Franks diary but I am aware of the backstory and that there are multiple versions. There are multiple versions because when they realized they would be submitting the diary for publication there were a number of things Anne had written that the father edited it out because it made them look bad. The movie claims that never happened but they say a lot of stuff that's lies. Remember this is a child stuck in a room with people in a terrible situation so not everything she wrote would have been very nice, I understand there was some nasty things said about some of the people they were hiding with or something like that. And maybe that's what bothers me about the movie, it's not reality...it's taking a traumatic experience a child had...cleaning it up to fit a narrative and packaging it for entertainment purposes.

There's also a point in her description of the persecution of the jews that annoyed me, she claims the reason they were targetted was because societies always find a minority group to blame. But that's not what happened and again this is another major history lesson we should all have taken from nazi germany that everybody has forgotten. It wasn't because they were a minority, nobody just says I'm going to hate this minority group for no reason Germany was a society built on minority groups, there were many different minority groups. The reason they chose the jews and the reason many societies have always chosen the jews...and the reason they so effectively villified the jews was because they were seen as a privileged class of people. Because so many of the societies doctors, lawyers, bankers, were jewish. Jews are an insular community that looks out for each, because of their strong sense of family nationality and faith coupled with a desire to do well and to train their kids to do well, they tend to be overrepresented in many powerful and profitable industries. This was why they were targetted, this is why they were scapegoated...it's the same rhetoric that goes into any generic 1%er or eat the rich diatribe. It was the socialist part of national socialism, only the capitalists hoarding all the wealth were jews rather than just "the rich"

The reason this rationale is forgotten about, glossed over and rebranded is because it describes the behaviour and worldview of modern progressive politics perfectly. They ignore that part of it because they themselves are guilty of it. Hitlers speeches and writings about the jews were rewritten to be about white people or about men and have been published in progressive university journals. So they have to pretend it's just because they were minorities because to understand the reality would mean cognitive dissonance.

All that aside the movie also has this boring artsy movie vibe to it I'm not interested in. I don't need to sit here and watch a little girl play cats cradle in a police station while a soft mandolin plays in the background, or listen to melancholic indie vocals over images of an imaginary girl ice skating before dissolving into inky wisps.

There's also a fairly blasphemous part I don't think a lot of jews or any religious people would appreciate where they both imply that God's existence is ridiculous while also implying that Anne Frank is like God because she's everywhere...because a lot of things are named after her. There's a lot of moments like that which scream "non practicing jew." They really go out of their way to literally deify her and at one point call her diary a sacred object.

The whole premise of the movie is bizarre and it only gets more bizarre. The idea is you see flashbacks to Anne Franks life and they are mixed in with parts of the movie that take place in the modern world...where this imaginary friend is looking for her long gone friend. The movie is incomprehensible because parts of it play like a fever dream and the rest of it is people behaving strangely and saying things that are so out of left field and are not believable.

The most disgusting part of the movie is the ending, where they use the emotional manipulation of the holocaust stories and try to tie it to other political agendas that have nothing to do with the holocaust. At the end she threatens to burn Annes diary if the country doesn't let in all the refugees and let them all stay for as long as they want. The movie is just one long attempt to use jewish people as props to advance a political agenda and the whole movie reeks of it. I hated this movie a lot but I feel like I'd have a much more visceral hatred of it if I was jewish.

The movie ends with this white text that makes the completely baseless assertion that antisemitism, violent racism and persecution of minorities is on the rise.

Sonic Underground 07: Underground Masquerade

I’m watching Sonic Underground in search of inspiration to finish a fic I’ve been writing forever. It’s a sad state of affairs. See the recap of the first three episodes here, if you're interested!

The plot (for want of a better word): The Sonic Underground takes a pack of thieving urchins under the wing to try and bring them to the right path. But surrounded by the life he left behind, can Manic truly let go of his past?

This episode showcases some unhelpful biases and terrible optics. Parental Guidance is advised.

This show really goes out of its way to act like Manic is constantly at risk of betraying Sonic and Sonia in the name of thievery. He’s literally never done anything to even put them at risk, but Sonia (and Aleena’s voice over) act like he’s always a risk. It’s… telling.

So an interesting thing in Sonic Underground: the alignments of the three siblings. In most media, Sonic is Chaotic Good. Sometimes even Chaotic Neutral, because ultimately he only cares about what he considers the right thing to do, and sometimes other people don’t agree. But because here he has siblings, he’s the Neutral Good between Sonia’s Lawful and Manic’s Chaotic. The reason I mention this is because he says the most True Neutral thing ever in this episode: “Any particular reason why we should care?” Which I love. He looks at this kid, and the gold in his hand, and immediately pegs him as bad news on the run from the law. And his response is to not give a single damn until he is given a reason. I just appreciate that bit of characterisation.

And then we have Sonia being a snob, and Sonic being even more practical. They have a musical show to do and their new thief friend has musical ability. Sonic wants the help. Manic wants the fun. Sonia wants to get away from the unwashed and unclean. This is actually a great episode to set up the triplets’ mindsets actually…

Buuuut just as I’m getting impressed, the show screws up the order of its scenes. There’s a scene in the van that clearly should have happened BEFORE thief kid introduces them to his friends, but it happens after. Nice continuity show, well done.

Ah hah… another nice world building bit, with the urchins all saying “yeah, I’ll stop stealing. Just give me another option.” Which is like… yes! Exactly! And… Sonia’s response is “oh, the rich will find a home for you!” which is… so naïve. And no sweet. And so dumb. God DAMN this show and its world! It’s just so good when you look for it!

Except the thing is, the show isn’t trying to make a point, which it proves by having absolutely no sympathy for Manic showing off his skills to the kids, and getting Sonia to lecture him about how she and Sonic are worried he’s slipping back to old tricks.

Which I don’t actually think is Sonic’s concern (he's on mission tunnel vision duty this episode), but whatever. He doesn’t correct her and it doesn’t matter. Moving on!

In contrast to Mindy and her father, the rich guy in this episode is using his wealth and power to smuggle secrets to the Resistance. Y’know. Just to be subtle about the gap between rich and poor in this episode. Skeevy.

Especially when Dingo convinces Manic and the urchins to steal from the rich to fund the resistance. OH NO THE MORAL DILEMMA.

Oh Manic. Oh, you silly, insecure boy. You were my favourite character once.

The SONG: Down on the Bayou… which is not only not appropriate for a ball, but is also super gross in context. Singing about how you’ll do things just like they do in the bayou while Manic is stealing from someone who trusts him… yeah… Optics are a thing, writers.

But at least now Manic appears to have given Sonia a reason for all her ‘Manic’s thievery is A Problem’ nonsense. Though uh, it seems kind of weird that Sonic and Sonia are just letting someone slap cuffs on him for stealing when they usually will get everyone out for a reason. Apparently life and death risks are fine but stealing is the one thing Sonic and Sonia will not tolerate.

And the rich guy immediately turns on them. Of course.

Though you will note that this time their medallions don’t need charging after their song. Consistency? Who needs that?

And luckily! Sleet and Dingo are scheming in a convenient alley and the thief kid can prove himself useful and good in the end!

Ooh, hey, Aleena not only showing up but making herself useful! Who knew she was capable?

Yeah… yeah. Nice world building. Kind of… awkward though. Yeah…
