A frequent refrain of the right-wing and racist is to ask why it's always healthy young men making it to our borders, and where are the pregnant women and babies and old people?
Yeah. About that.
Who makes it to the end of a dangerous journey tells you nothing about who started out.

Is it really that bad? - I ask myself as I look at my flat chest in the mirror, the first time wearing my home-made binder.
Is it really that bad? - I ask myself as I secretly try on my older brother's boxers that he doesn't wear anymore.
Is it really that bad? - I ask myself as I buy another piece of men's clothing at a thrift store.
Is it really that bad? - I ask myself as I start to use my dad's shower gel instead of the feminine scented ones.
Is it really that bad? - I ask myself as I watch another video about passing as a guy.
Is it really that bad? - I ask my friend when they tell me they see I'm changing.
Is it really that bad? - I ask my teacher who wonders why I cut my hair so short.
Is it really that bad? - I ask my mother who's yelling at me for being too masculine.
Is it really that bad? - I ask my therapist when I tell her I wish I was born a boy.
Is it really that bad? - I ask my little sister, who just looks at me and smiles
"I know you're a boy. You told me already. Will you still play with me?" - she asks back, and that's when I realize, it was never actually "that" bad.

funniest answer for "what happened during Jason's fight with Krios" is, rather than Jason having a physical one-on-one unarmed fight with Krios, Jason just tears Krios a new one re: legislation by chewing him out for unauthorized activity in a state park. Because one of Jupiter's big aspects is law!
Jason sends the entirety of the Titan Army forces in California marching out of Mt. Tam State Park with their tails between their legs with one strongly worded argument and some threats to inform San Francisco Fish & Wildlife. And he gets made praetor for it.

Bro, i was looking at some meta laws so i know what i can do to treat certain patients, and i just found out,
I do not qualify as human.
: )
I do not qualify as a sentient being, and people need to realise that that is not a good thing.
ON THE OTHER HAND THOUGH, LAWS NO LONGER CAN APPLY TO ME.
i now resonate with Anonymous M on a spiritual level lmao.

So I love the fact that Kinnporsche is a wild departure from the typical BL university storyline but...please consider, for a moment, the hysterical potential of forcing them back into a University AU.
We’ve got:
Kinn and Vegas as competing new assistant professors in the Criminology Department, with wildly diverging major lines of research, constantly trying to steal each other’s students
All the bodyguards are either grad students or postdocs. Pete is taking a literal decade to finish his degree because he’s triple majoring in crim, history, and English literature.
Korn and Gun are the Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Life Sciences and Humanities
Tankhun was a rising star doing his dissertation work as an ethnography of gang violence but ended up actually getting kidnapped and tortured and never finished his degree.
Kim jumped ship and is majoring in MUSIC of all things (Chay is an incoming freshman in the music department).
Porsche didn't even go to undergrad but he's got the real-life experience and connections needed to gain trust in the illegal underground fighting world, which is what Kinn's research centers around, so Korn pulls some strings to get him into grad school with Kinn as his major prof. (The kidnapping and forest plot happens when a focus group they’re conducting with some informants goes sideways)
And crim is such a perfect department, half of all crim profs have super sketchy criminal backgrounds and half are like...actual cops. So you’ve got the minor family branch on the criminal side and the main family branch on the cop side, but the truth is that both are equally dirty and brutal, the cop/main family side just has this veneer of legitimacy and respectability.
Vegas’ research is on deviance and violent offenders and prison abolition and the functional role of crime in society, and Kinn is trying to steer his students towards enforcement and prison 'reform' and how profiling people actually works and how if you ARE the law then you’re ABOVE the law and not only can but should break the rules to enforce what you believe is right.
Anyway tagging @yeetlegay cause this SCREAMS our Foucault conversations and @stormyoceans because I conceived of this while talking to her, true muse material.
