I did not expect such bold beauty in this sophisticated 1922 Neo-Classical brick stunner in Washington, DC. 5bd 4ba, listed for $4.2M.
Tumblr media
Small foyer is before the entrance hall- by the harlequin tile, silver patterned ceiling and gray tones, you can see that the decor will be bold, but mostly neutral.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To the right of the entrance is this classy sitting room with a fireplace flanked by 2 lighted display areas and a sleek, shiny black floor.
Tumblr media
To the left is room that appears to be an office or den.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The dining room is next to the sitting room and has a wonderful columned entrance, checkered tile floor and a stunning mural on the ceiling. Glass walls and doors provide views and access to the patio, bringing the outside in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is a nice silver, blac & white kitchen.
Tumblr media
Beautiful guest powder room.
Tumblr media
The kitchen is open to the hallway with stairs leading to the 2nd level.
Tumblr media
Beautiful large main b. has a fireplace flanked by closets.
Tumblr media
The room extends to this lovely sitting area.
Tumblr media
Gorgeous marble en-suite bath.
Tumblr media
This could be another bd. that’s being used as a sitting room.
Tumblr media
The 2nd bath has beautiful modern/vintage plumbing fixtures.
Tumblr media
The secondary bds are generously sized.
Tumblr media
Stairs and landing hall to the uppermost floor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Love the finished attic. This is so cool.
Tumblr media
There’s a bathroom up here.
Tumblr media
This looks like fun, comfy space.
Tumblr media
From the attic, we go down to the lower level where there’s a table for crafts and laundry facilities.
Tumblr media
There’s half bath down here. Very stylish.
Tumblr media
This lounging room has a ping pong table, some chairs to hang out in, and a big fridge, plus access to the patio. (Plus a snowblower against the wall, there.)
Tumblr media
And, finally, this is one patio.
Tumblr media
And, this is a second patio.
Tumblr media
Stairs lead further down the property to a lovely garden.

Kedleston Hall, Kedleston, Derbyshire, United Kingdom,
The marble hall with its elaborate plasterwork executed to the designs of Robert Adam. The fluting of the alabaster columns was carried out in situ.

Unique, colorful Sphinx Hill was built in 1999 by architect John Outram in Oxfordshire, in the village of Moulsford,  England and it has frontage on the River Thames. It’s a post-modern home done in Egyptian style that features bold colors and geometrics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It isn’t just the exterior that’s colorful, it’s the interior, also. At first I thought that the kitchen was part of the living room, but it’s actually an art display area.
Tumblr media
The furnishings also have Egyptian style.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Colorfully painted cabinetry in the kitchen.
Tumblr media
The main bedroom has a deck, and most of the rooms have access to a patio.
Tumblr media
Nice home office- look at the round windows in the door.
Tumblr media
A guest bedroom.
Tumblr media
And, check out the bath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The indoor pool is so luxurious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gardens are stunning. Sphinx statues guard the waterway on the property.
Tumblr media
Close proximity to the river. For $2.5M, it’s not a bad price.
