8- That would be his relationship with his parents, specifically his mother. Seeing her perform such wonderful plays and songs was so strikingly beautiful to him it basically inspired all his life aspirations.

He wants to create music worthy of being sung by people as talented as his mother, and he wishes for his compositions to be as popular and engaging as his father's.

10- Uuuuuhhh 🧍‍♀️Well, I guess this truly depends on which of Paige's morals are being challenged, but knowing Paige, he's likely to choose whichever path is less likely to affect him negatively in the long run. As I've said before, Paige likes to avoid conflict. (Sorry this answer is so vague. My understanding of morals as a concept is very limited 😓)

14- heh... does this even need an explanation 😭? Well, Paige strongly expresses himself through music (I know, shocker 😱) he tends to make new lyrics daily based on whatever mood he's feeling!

Rather than having a talent for lyric writing and music composition, Paige picked up the skills from all the music he heard his dad make, which allowed for creative flow in his young mind!

Aurinelle:

8- Oof there's no way this could be anyone outside his family because haha isolation, but I think that out of all his family members, the one that impacted him (not positively) the most was with Nellie.

This one has some lore drop to it on why Aurinelle doesn't trust himself to not harm anything smaller than him so buckle up I guess 💀

There was this one time in which Aurinelle was extremely sick. Nellie, being nothing but a little baby around the age of two, swam into Aurinelle's room to play with him, unaware of how sick he was. The issue is that when he's sick, Aurinelle's senses dull and he becomes highly alert to whatever comes near him and aggressive. So when Nellie touched his sleeping form, Aurinelle instantly went into fight pr flight mode, thinking it was a predator. Unfortunately, Aurinelle never chooses flight.

He attacked without having assessed the situation yet, and accidently blinded one of Nellie's eyes. Since that they he's refused to willingly touch anything that he could potentially harm, and that includes his little sisters. While his mums have tried to reassure him that it was as accident and that no one was to blame, he still hasn't gotten rid of the unease that comes with coming into contact with others, specially small or adorable people that might activate his aggression.

10- Aurinelle would stick to his morals no matter what, so he's likely to choose whatever option does not deviate from his beliefs, regardless of future outcomes.

14- This is actually a wonderful question! Aurinelle doesn't express himself as clearly as someone like Paige does, but he does enjoy expressing himself to fashion! While Aurinelle doesn't go out much, whenever he does he tends to wear Y2k fits (yes. This man wears CROP TOPS. It's the hottest thing istg). He's got anyone he passes swooning 😖 Aurinelle does like lighter colors btw! I wouldn't say pastel and stuff like that, just like, idk, lighter colors 😭

His other form of self expression would be his gems (they glow different colors with whatever emotion he's feeling) which he takes extensive care of.

One of these days some writer’s gotta include kindling alongside forging, mentoring, constructed cold, budding, etc. If splitting sparks makes twins why not merging and begetting sparks? I just really like the idea of multiple forms of reproduction and choosing to have babies or adopting new adults. I’ve not written the mentoring system from IDW2 personally, but I do like it too. This is one of those times I wish I could sci-fi magic edit some convos I’ve had with my pals away from tumblr and twitter and post them because it doesn’t really come through in some of my fics that I combine systems in them, but I’ve talked extensively about it..... in private. 😅😂

For instance my boy Brainstorm- In everything I’ve posted with him he’s still his good ol cold constructed self- but in an AU I have with a good friend I will not name here, he’s actually a kindled mech- depending on our mood he knows that or not and gets to be reunited with his carrier. 😉

In my Vos fic (assuming anyone reading this will be minding my tags on that one lmao) It’s not explicitly stated but The Confederated clans of Vos are exclusively kindled/carried For Reasons™ and the surrounding city-states all use all the different fanon/canon ways-(Kindling, hot spots, cold construction- likely mentoring for those second two?)  and find them all normal. Brainstorm in that one was Cold-Constructed to be a guard for Harmonex, but being how brilliant he is they choose to educate him. Of course, the discrimination isn’t based on construction in that AU, it’s based on mode ability in both the flier and non-flier cultures. 

I do also hope that whatever comes next for TF comics it’s interesting and Well done. I like how it’s been done in TF Earthspark, with the Malto family growing but the new Terrans needing more time to grow into themselves than classic canon tf babies in the past. :3c 

I’ll deff have to think about this more, I’ve not really done any lore posts for my Aus in a long time or lore that includes how wide stuff goes for me as a writer myself. It’s aaaaalll in the chatlogs. Thanks for the ask! ♥

ETA: I’m honestly still whacked on cold meds from this whatever it is so I completely forgot to mention ATUE- my soap opera lmfao. That’s also one where it’s different. but I’ve been going back and forth on changing it because the initial ideas for it were written when IDW was going on and a lot of the canon rules for it were less solid. the only reasons I’ve not is because it’s kinda cool and also I know there’s some folks who get squicked by a human analog for tf reproduction. 

that being said, it’s been so long that who knows if those folks have gone on to other fandom pastures? we will see.

IKR!? That would be the coolest thing ever--TS2 has aged extraordinarily well, considering it’s a 20+ year old game. All it needs is modern meshes/textures and graphics, and updated pop culture references--the gameplay is arguably better than TS3; its neighborhoods are pretty great; the lore is iconic, and the TS2 community is still thriving to this day. A TS1/TS2 remake would be the best thing for The Sims franchise, rather than making TS5. The Resident Evil 2 remake was outstanding. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 7′s remake wasn’t all it was hyped up to be, and they took it in what many feel is the WRONG direction. So simmers would have to hope EAxis wouldn’t eff up and like, remove any of TS2′s features; just add to what’s already there (TS3′s CASt & Story Progression, TS4′s build mode, Freeplay’s venues, etc).

PREACH! Greenplumboblover singlehandedly proved that simmers can create whatever the heck we want, given the know-how. I can’t wait to see what else the community comes up with (I want peacocks, just saying 🦚). It just goes to show that EA is lazy AF--ONE PERSON created a farm animal from scratch in their free time, for free, and I bet it didn’t take GPL 6 whole years to make them, the way it took EA 6 years to convert the chickens and cows from TS3 to TS4 for $40. 🙄 #EAYouSuck

Maybe try making custom made bird cages to fit their bodies? Maybe that solve the size issue? Cool idea regardless tho.

This is actually a neat solution, thank you! Using even the regular log-perch would definitely look better, agreed. My main concern is the clipping when sims interact with the dragons though. They’re huge when sims hold them, and constantly clip right through their heads.

Granted, even my bunny rabbits clip through heads when sims snuggle them, but it’s not 100% of the time (more like 75%, pfft).

But my dragons are downright unplayable at the size they are, which makes no sense, cuz I didn’t resize the meshes at all! They snap back to their regular size in-between every animation, and I have no clue why, cuz all I did was swap the meshes/textures--this makes no frikkin sense. 😩

Ed and Mari lore

Some very important lore for Ed and Mari, the RexCoatl babies.....

So imma drop a little lore about Ed and Mari. Some of you may already be familiar with some of this, but for the most part I think most should be kinda in the dark...

Something very important to remember is who exactly their mother is...

Quetzalcoatl is a goddess from mesoamerican mythology. So, it's pretty easy to imagine.... that the kids will be divine aswell. (Rex too, but that's for another time)

So! I will expand on that a bit here!

First off for Ed! He's a deity of water, storms, rain, lightning and the like. He has some control over water and the weather and the like, but not much yet. He's still a young lad.

He can kind of summon storms and the like, but he needs focus to do so and it takes a bit of energy.

Then for Mari! She's a deity of death, rebirth, toxins and flowers. She's actually able to drain the life out of any lifeform, but everytime she does so, they're "reborn" in some way. Usually not through a proper reincarnation but new life will come about.

She can also produce toxins from her own body, usually in the form of a noxious cloud of gas from her mouth.

These divine abilities didn't show up for them until they were about 13 yrs of age, as it comes with puberty. They'll take a while to develop to their fullest, but eventually they will get there and they'll become formidable gods.

oneus: ooooooof this is a hard question. i’d say ‘to be or not to be’ - i love all the dark, symbolic imagery, the incorporation of the dance shots, and just in general how cinematic it all was. except i hate the guns part and i wish it didn’t exist, it’s so upsetting every time, especially for an mv that came out in 2 0 2 0 :/ otherwise it’s gotta be ‘lit’ loona: yves ‘new’. in case anyone hasn’t figured this out, i’m a lore fiend. and ‘new’ has so much lore in it via symbolism and visual language, which i LOVE. cignature: ‘arisong’ is so colorful and pretty and over the top, plus it has that weird tangerine tree made of hands WHAT.

5: if you could only listen to one of their songs for the rest of your life, which would it be?

oneus: ‘blue sky’, i could not imagine life without ‘blue sky’ loona: ‘hi high’ cignature: probably ‘assa’

6: who would you want to see them collab with?

i’m gonna go off the rails here and throw out some ideas that aren’t even remotely within the realm of possibility oneus: steve lacy (i would love to hear one of his funky guitar licks on a oneus track) loona: phoebe bridgers cignature: not really a collab, but i would love to see them get a track produced by mark ronson. 

7: what (mv) concept do you want to see them do?

oneus: weird but very, very aesthetic, i’m thinking exo ‘ko ko bop’/shinee ‘married to the music’ sort of vibes, or even red velvet’s ice cream cone/dumb dumb eras. they were going there with ‘no diggity’, but i really want them to lean into weird aesthetic choices just to keep everyone on their toes. also keep giving me lore MY GOD. loona: this is weird to answer for loona because they’ve tried almost everything, so i think i’d like to see them do something like a trippy dreamscape with no connection to reality whatsoever. i’m talking mind-bending mc escher stuff. cignature: they should start developing their group characters soon, and i’d like to see them go with something (not to invoke rv again) perfect velvet-esque to do that. I think they’d really fit that vibe.

8: have you ever had a dream with any of the members in it?

okay one time i had a dream that there was a oneus concert at the mall but that’s it

9: if you could spend the day with one member, who would it be and what would you do?

oneus: youngjo and we’re going shopping boooooiiiiiiiii. i want to steal his look. also i’d just like to hang out and talk about art or something. loona: kim lip. during the fansign call i was in, she was just the coolest and i could have kept talking to her for a while longer. things felt chill and friendly. going to an amusement park with kimberly lippington. cignature: god they are all so sweet alskdjalkdj i’d want to hang out with yeah and practice dancing or just goof off. either way i would be in full Protecc mode with all of them because these are BABIES to me. except youngjo, i might fight him.

10: which member do you think you would get on with best?

oneus: probably xion because we’re both goblins. perhaps seoho because we both have to say weird stuff or we’ll die.

loona: probably hyunjin because we’re both goblins who make animal noises randomly and love bread.

cignature: probably yeah because we’re both goblins who do our best to make people around us laugh.

11: which member do you think you would argue with?

oneus: leedo, oh undoubtedly. it’s amusing to me how clearly i can imagine our personalities running counter to one another.

loona: choerry and i cannot possibly explain this other than to say she gives me little sister energy (love her)

the only answer for all three groups is youngjo because i figure he wouldn’t even register half of what was going on anyway but might occasionally be like “cool picture”

Blogging my Bravely Default II Playthrough

Since I’ve been pretty involved in the fandom on this blog in the past years (you can check my 'bravely series' tag) I figured I would go an journal my playthrough of the long awaited sequel.

I will journal from chapter to chapter and I’m going abolutely blind (I played the two demos, and didn’t look at any media), so you will only get spoiled up to where I’m at each time.

Without further ado, here are my thoughts on the prologue chapter under the read more

Obviously, this will contain spoilers up to the end of the prologue. Please refrain from adding spoilers to this post, I wish to experience the game blind.

Overall opinion: It’s a positive surprise. I remember the miffed reactions to the demo and was myself not that much impressed, but I did hear the reviews had been mostly positive this past week. As this is only the prologue, I’m staying cautious, but the game was full of good surprises and looks promising.

Gameplay: Very fun to play, dare I say on par with the original, even maybe better. I will miss the old turn order, but this one work just as well, albeit differently. A lot more focus on the strategy and job synergy, and even right now, bosses demand a lot more diverse strategies, and it’s usually near impossible to know what to expect when you start a new fight.

I love how mure more rich the overworld is, instead of a badly textured world map, we now have actual terrain to explore, with hidden treasures (but like, better hidden than in BSel), and a lot of interesting, diverse and fun sidequests. Picking up the game, I actually need to ask myself “alright, what am I going to do this session?” instead of just blindly following the story. The addition of overworld monsters also encourage strategy (I’m literally beating a boss just with poison right now, because it just seemed to have way too high of a defense in both physical and magical) and will probably prove a precious ressource when grinding is needed.

There is a lot of variety in the common mobs, even in the very first area, which is a nice touch as well. If the rest of the game isn’t just recolors, we’ll be looking at a nice rich ecosystem.

I also like that the weaknesses aren’t as obvious as usual, and that not every flower is weak to fire for example. It mixes it up.

I welcome the return of sleep-mode play as well, even in this different form (although it seems we’ve all been naming Seth “Seth”, which looks goofy in the reports)

For now, I’m training everyone in every classes, but in general I try to avoid the “expected” roles (like, making Gloria into the white mage. I wanted to resist it for Agnès, I will resist it for Gloria). I would also like to avoid making a carbon copy of my BD team as well.

Writing: Nothing much happened in the prologue, I did hear the beginning would be slow paced, but I feel like the bases are there, and the writing seems more solid than the previous games. It’s hard to shake the feeling that it’s just the og_team.02, but I enjoy the characters for now, and they don’t seem to be slapped-on tropes like some other JRPGs

I really liked how the last cutscene of the prologue played (more on that lower). Even though it was obvious that it would happen sooner rather than later (op mentor can’t be babying us the whole game), I felt it was written well enough.

I am playing with japanese dubs, and I rather like it for now, especially Gloria.

Somehow, the dialogue and interactions reminds me of Bravely’s old universe, even though it’s a new one. In the themes and the vocabulary, it just feels Bravely still.

Writing - Theories: (Yes I will theorise the heck out of that game as I go).

Calling it now that Sloan isn’t actually dead. No body, no dead, no sirree.

From Dag and Selene’s redeeming blurb in the enemy sheets, I’m also expecting the usual twist where the asterisk holders are more of a grey area, and even turn nice guys at some point. After all, this time they do not always die after you beat them, and they even get their own freelancer design (which is an addition I LOVED in the demo already and that Bravely Asterisk’ lore needed), hinting that they will probably be reused in the story.

However, they *did* kill Horten on screen, so this time we might actually see the evil ones being punished, and the good ones being redeemed, instead of an “all or nothing” approach.

I WILL mention that I tried letting myself die during the Crystal Choice, and it just gave me a game over screen. Kind of ruins the “true” cutscene and shatters the illusion of choice, here. I’m expecting something like that to play into the 4th wall twist, if this game is anything like the previous two.

Graphics: Ah, the infamous graphics. To be fair, I have grown used to them by now, and I quite enjoy them. It is also to be commended that they’re doing way crazier cutscenes now, and the fact you can see your outfits at all time is such a nice touch. It feels a lot more dynamic, and as of now, it hasn’t looked ridiculous or uncanny.

The hand-drawn cities look beautiful and more complex (albeit slightly) than the old ones, which is also good.

Performance: (playing on a lite) Kind of surprised of how the game runs: the game struggle before each party chat and most cutscenes. Nothing game breaking or anything yet, but I do hope it gets patched eventually. It can also be very slow to load after a game over, or entering a town.

Music: I’m not quite as sold on the music as I was on Bravely 1 or Octopath, but I do like what I’m hearing for now. There’s no criticism here to be making, the tracks are good. I’m just kind of lamenting that they don’t stick to my brain quite as much.

Wow, this story just grabbed me and didn't let me go and now it's the end of a full day and I have no excuse for abandoning everything except that I was really involved and enjoying the plot.  //  Stiles is such a fucking badass, I love this, he's super-smart and strategizes and handles everything that comes up like a pro and it's totally easy to see why they have such a large and powerful pack. 'College Derek', meanwhile, is a complete sexist asshole (with the whole Alpha/omega thing) who says some super hurtful things in the first half out of sheer ignorance mostly -- although occasionally it's spite. Stiles handles it as well as he can, trying to hide that it hurts and striking back because he has backbone for god's sake... but his bondmark is slowly fading and that's terrifying and tragic.  //  Meanwhile, the Silva pack is due to arrive with some manifest bad intentions, and Peter is lurking around stirring up trouble, and it's a really fucking bad time for Derek to not remember who he is, because it makes their pack vulnerable.  //  Great story.

Bottom Stiles, Like Whoa,  

 Whoa, that was an intense climax, I'm kinda breathless. Great story. Stiles is earnest and funny (and sooo hot for the giant, hairy, handsome man -- when author says size difference they are not messing around and it's mentioned frequently) and Derek is monosyllabic and awkward. They figure it out eventually, and there is hot sex (did I say size difference and hirsuteness?). Laura's a great werewolf-sister (Derek is the only werewolf) and her son Seth is a cutie. The cast of characters (Chris, Jordon, Finstock, Angus, Gladys and the two First People Miriam and Jonah) are interesting and fleshed-out. Love the plot, and the take on Derek's werewolf (not Teen Wolf style), love the First People lore and rituals, love the setting waaay up in Alaska on this tiny island.  //  (Don't let Major Character Death tag scare you, you're gonna be just fine.)

Derek says, “Oh my god, Laura,” and grabs for Prin just as Prin launches herself out of Laura's arms toward him. He swings her up in a practiced movement and settles her on his hip and Laura grins so wide her fangs are showing.

“The pack wanted to meet her, even Mom's here,” she says, gesturing toward a big black wolf that looks almost exactly like Derek in wolf form – the wolf lifts her head and sneezes at them, then goes back to nosing through Stiles's DVD collection.

“Mom,” Derek says, and holds Prin up so she hides his face. Prin tugs at his hair and knees him in the eye and giggles when he shoves her up so her tummy is balanced on the top of his head, it's so cute Stiles can hardly stand it, his life is insane.

“Okay,” Stiles says, clapping his hands together, “I'll make tea.”

Fire, Fury, and Flame by IAmAVeronica  E, 125k, Complete.  Stiles Stilinski was never going to be the omega who got knocked up right after high school, and then he's accidentally artificially inseminated with a stranger's sperm.  //  Awesome.  //  And the father of Stiles's baby just so happens to be Derek Hale. Half-feral, quite possibly a murderer, and pursued by a gleefully sadistic band of hunters who are only too eager to use Stiles and his baby to hit Derek right where it hurts.  //  Joy.

Omega Stiles, Alpha Derek, Mpreg, Kidnapping, Stalking, cultural ramifications of a/b/o

So, Stiles, the omega-rights activist who never wants anything to do with an Alpha and wants to avoid any of that biological imperative bullshit, winds up pregnant a la Jane the Virgin. BUT. Derek is unwilling to commit, or even to have Stiles tell anyone who the baby-Daddy is. This could be because a complete psychopath has him in her targets.

Kate is one fuck-scary villain, just, crazy as a bag of cats and vicious with it, and the filth that comes out of her mouth is truly chilling.

Stiles gets kidnapped pretty early on, which is frightening enough, and then she's back for another try. At that point, he's kidnapped again, this time by Derek, who whisks him across the country to the Preserve, a werewolf compound in Maine. Here, Stiles is the only human, pregnant and vulnerable and trying to make a temporary life until the baby is born. But will it only be temporary?

There's love, sociopolitical musings, lots of angst, lots of danger. The baby is born about 3/4 of the way through the story, and then Kate comes around to terrorize everyone again. Even though Derek and Stiles are living in a house that's reinforced with bars and a panic room, she still manages to nearly burn Stiles and the baby…

 Rescue Me (& Take Me In Your Arms) by tumtatumtum  E, 34k, Complete (series is 37k so far).  Just when Stiles is starting to reach panic-attack levels of stress, a leather jacket and firm thigh are pressed right up next to him, and an arm is casually thrown over his shoulder. Stiles looks up to thank this kind person who is saving his life, and suddenly forgets what air is.  //  Because HOT. DAMN. Call the police and the fire-man, this guy is smoking.  //  Or the AU where Derek helps save Stiles from an ex, and a steamy BDSM relationship ensues- with feelings all over the place.

Pretty fucking phenomenal. Lots of world-building and political intrigue. If you're in it for the tropes, you'll be disappointed, but otherwise it's intense and dense and lovely.

Oh, the angst, the pining, the guilt, the blame, the anger. Total pain-fest while we watch Stiles nearly die from the burden of the pregnancy. Lovely sweet ending, of course.

34. would you say your wol is fundamentally a good person? or are they a bad person that's been persuaded to do the right thing?

i would say i don't believe in fundamentally good people and that's probably? hopefully? abundantly clear through the lens of my characters, lmao. HOWEVER, for the sake of the question i'd say ilya is a fundamentally young person. he's frankly still learning what he thinks good means, and a lot of that learning is happening in insanely high-risk situations where the risk is. like. everything. how is a person supposed to process concepts like right and wrong and bad and good when the stakes are that fucking high and everything's riding on your shoulders? it's not fair and it's not right but it is what it is and he's doing... idk, the best he can. sometimes his best is selfishly selfless and i don't know that that's any better than sacrifice for the right reasons.

he's just some guy who should probably be living his days out stabbing himself recklessly with embroidery needles, but instead he's got more blood on his hands and his heart than he's ever gonna know what to do with, and almost none of it felt like the right thing to do. like at the heart of it i don't think if you asked him he'd say he's a good person. i don't think he has the space to believe that, but like. you make sacrifices. you get by, and everyone and everything you care about gets to go on.
