pairings. kim doyoung x fem!reader genre. fluff, romance, angst warnings. explicit content, minor dni, read at your own risk. summary. from best friends to fuck buddies, and back to being just friends?
you woke up with a brush of sunlight escaping from the window, and a handsome man was sleeping beside you, but you almost forgot that you had slept with him last night. you slept with your best friend. you did bar hopping with your other friends until the two of you left, and your night went crazy when you both got home.
you slightly removed his arm, hugging your waist carefully not to wake him up, and gladly he didn’t. he just let a soft groan and hugged a pillow you put instead. and viola, you walked into the bathroom naked. your makeup was a mess last night, and you forgot to wash it off. you took a shower instead.
after an hour, you’re done, and your best friend is still asleep. a sleepy dimwit. you picked comfy clothes and went straight to the kitchen to cook for brunch because it was almost 11 am. you just cooked whatever was available in the pantry. thankfully, your best friend, doyoung, is not a picky eater. he could eat whatever is on the table, even you. you went back to your room to wake him up.
“hey, doie-donut! brunch is rea—-”
but you saw nothing on the bed; you could hear water splashing in the bathroom, and you assumed doyoung was taking a shower.
“just come out once you’re done, ’kay?”
“yep, will do! thanks, y/n!”
you prepared the table, and after a few minutes, he joined you. No one dared to speak; only the utensils were making the sound. the moment you were both done, he volunteered. “i’ll do the dishes, y/n.” you shake your head. “nope, i will do it.” but you know him, he’ll keep on bugging you if you won’t allow him. “alright, fine.” he took your plate, and he washed the dishes. at the same time, you decided to clean the living room—one of your best decision throughout the day. your clothes were on the floor—your panty was on the lampshade while your bra was hanging on the door handle. how the fuck did it go there? you try to remember, but you can’t.
doyoung was done, and he went to check on you. you didn’t feel his presence until you saw him when you turned around and went to the laundry room. “dude! what the hell?” he laughed at your reaction. “geez. calm down. it’s still morning.” you just rolled your eyes at his response, he followed you to the laundry room, and he took the basket with your clothes from your hand. “ya! i’ll do the laundry.” but you know he won’t let you protest. so he immediately put all the clothes in the washing machine.
you both are sitting on the couch, and watching netflix. “don’t you have classes today?” he asked. “it’s monday.” he added. you checked at the time, it’s 12 pm. “i do in 3 hours.”
“you?”
“nah, no classes every monday. want me to pick you up later?” he suggested while focusing on the t.v. you wanted to say no but knowing doyoung; he always brings food, so you said yes. “okay, as long as you’ll bring donuts, doie-donut.” he rolled his eyes when you said that name again. it’s not just he hates that name, but it doesn’t sound good or bad to him, so he lets you. nothing can stop you both except for one thing—your feelings for each other.
no one tried to open up about what happened last night because you’ve already been with this setup for six months. you both have rules, and you want to obey them, not break them. you are each other’s firsts for everything: your first kiss, first hug, first sex. you want to give yourself to the person who deserves it, and you can’t think of anyone except your best friend since childhood. you both want to feel how it feels until you can’t stop. whenever you need each other’s warmth, you are just one call away. you’re both adults, yet you still don’t know what to do with your feelings for the sake of your friendship. you have something to protect, but speak now or hold your peace forever—you both choose the latter.
Tumblr media
a year has passed, you have already graduated from college, and you’re still in the same setup as your best friend. he wanted to ask you how long we will be like this. how long are we going to continue being fubu? but he knew that you’d say. i don’t know, maybe once we find the one. the moment he met you, he already knew you were the one, and so did you.
you hugged his back as he kept on pounding on top of you. you bit his shoulder to suppress your moans because someone might hear you. “moan, y/n. moan my name.” he whispered to your ear. “i-i can’t. doyoung, fuck! we’re in your car.” you whispered. you scratched his back as you whimpered in ecstasy.
it’s nearly ten p.m., and you’re fucking in his car at a parking lot near his condo. you both couldn’t go to his because of the burning lust of wanting each other’s warmth. he pushed himself up and slowed his movement. “you know, no one can hear you. so, moan, y/n.” your eyes rolled as his dick reached your sweet spot. you can’t help but moan his name repeatedly. he grips your hips as he moves steadily. his head fell back as he felt the sensation building up and as you clenched your insides. he leaned to suck in your little beads. pleasure after pleasure. you were catching your breath as you both moaned each other’s name, and you reached your orgasm.
he let a few more thrusts before he pulled out in you, and you let a soft moan as your cum went down to your butthole. you're still lying in the backseat and chasing your breath from the mind-blowing sex with him. at the same time, he took the wipes from the compartment to clean you up.
he wiped your sex and sweat, tied your hair up, and clothed you before him. after he was done, he took a blanket and tucked you into the backseat. “you okay?” you closed your eyes and just hummed to respond. “let’s buy donuts?” your eyes twinkled as you heard donuts “yes, please!”
he let a laugh, “okay, y/n! got it. just stay there, hmm?” and he went to the driver's seat. he started the engine and drove to the nearest donut store. he never missed. you thought. you also thought that doyoung would be a perfect partner.
Tumblr media
after buying the donuts, he parked his car on the side of the road where you could see the city lights. you were both seated at the back of his vehicle, wrapped in the blanket. you were silently eating the donut and drinking the hot chocolate. the cold breeze touched your hair, and you knew something was coming. something unexpected.
“y/n, this setup has to be stopped,” he said while his eyes were in front of the view; that stopped you from eating. “why?” you still dumbly asked. seriously? do I have to ask him that? does he find someone already?
“i met someone two days ago. she’s pretty, yeah—I want to give it a shot. you wouldn’t mind, right?”
fuck, i do. your eyes were getting watery, but you stopped yourself. you don’t want him to see you like that. you don’t want him to see you hurting.
“no! heck no, doie-donut. it’s okay! i also wanted to say that earlier.” you tried to sound more convincing, but your eyes don’t lie, and he’s dumb to see that.
“oh? so, you found a guy?” he wanted to ask more. what kind of person is he, can he be trusted, can you be happy with him?
i need to lie, for god’s sake.
“yes, i met him at work, and he’s kind and nice,” you said as you sipped the coffee. he nodded and said nothing but felt a slight pang in his chest. you’re lowkey thankful that he stopped talking, so you could save yourself from breaking down. you don’t want to risk everything; you’re scared as hell.
you let out a happy laugh. “so, that’s our last sex? i should’ve performed much better!” but he just side-eyed you as he sips his hot chocolate.
i should’ve made most of the time while i was still in your arms.
“no, kidding aside. but seriously, donut. it’s okay, we’re still best friends, right?” you asked as you tried not to break your voice. “yes, we’re still best friends, although we did many messy things.” you can’t look at him. you don’t want to see his face thinking of the woman he met.
you just said, “okay!” as a response as you continued to finish your food. you took the last bite, you told him to send you home. after you bid goodbyes, and the moment to go inside your pad, the tears you’ve prevented earlier burst. you cried your lungs out and almost threw the vase on the wall. oops, this one is expensive, so no. you think you deserved it, you deserve the pain—you’re now facing the consequences of holding your silence, and you’re expecting the worst for the following days. you cried all night and weren’t able to get a good sleep.
on the other hand, doyoung couldn’t sleep either. he saw your eyes and your reaction to what he said in his peripheral view. he just turned a blind eye to it. he knows your hurt; he knows you very well and feels sorry for it. his feelings for you were gone for months, and you're the one who’s left having those feelings.
Tumblr media
days have passed, and you and doyoung haven’t met ever since that day happened. no one tried to reach out. you’re currently in your office working your ass off. you were loaded with papers and meetings every single day. you sighed and took a break. you reached for your phone and opened your Instagram. the first post that you saw was doyoung, he was cute in the picture, but when you swiped left, you saw the woman he was with. you assume that was the same person he talked about before. ouch, so they’re dating now? you accidentally clicked the like button. fuck!
you took a deep breath. i’m okay. i’ll be okay. i wanted this. your eyes were getting watery again, but you took a tissue and immediately put it to your eyes to absorb. speaking of the which, doyoung was calling you. you composed yourself immediately before answering.
you: hey, what’s up?
you sounded happy.
doyoung: ……
he didn’t respond, he just want to hear your voice again; it’s been a while.
you: hello? doie-donut? are you still there?
you snapped him back to his senses.
doyoung: yeah, yeah. sorry. ahm… you: why did something happen?
your brows furrowed.
doyoung: no, I just want to ask if you’re busy later at night.
he shakes his head not like you can see it. you checked the clock, it’s already 3 p.m. there’s a hint of joy when he asked that. you didn’t notice that you already smiled while talking to him.
you: nope, i’ll be out at six. why? are you planning something?
damn, i miss him so badly.
doyoung: great, let’s have a drink later at my house.
and him, inviting you to a drink? and who are you to disagree with?
you: sure, on it! i’ll bring the drinks. wait, is it just the two of us? doyoung: yes, silly. you: well, is your girlfriend fine with it? look, doie-donut, i want to respect your relationship and set some boundaries. doyoung: yep, no worries! it’s okay, eli. you: alright! see you doie-donut!
in the four corners of your office, you can only hear your heart beating so fast. you indeed have enormous feelings for him until now. i really love him. fuck.
Tumblr media
the night has come and you knocked on his door. when he opened it, you showed the drinks you bought at the convenience store, soju, and beer. he just smiled and welcomed you in. while doyoung gets the goodies from the fridge, you make yourself at home on his sofa and put the beverages on the center table. once everything was set, he joined you on the sofa; and he opened the television.
while the drama is playing, he took a sip before he speaks. “i want to be honest with you, once and for all.” while your gaze was fixed on the drama, you hummed. “i liked you before.” as you slowly turn your face to him, you're taken aback. "well, you are not alone." in anguish, you chuckled. doyoung was astounded as well.
he thought he was the only one suppressing his emotions, but you are also. everything makes sense to him. the way you act, the way you behave with him, he has no idea that you're doing much of it out of love; he thought you were fooling around, but everything is true. he didn't notice it until it was too late.
you: since when? doyoung: i liked you since childhood. you: oh.
you guys really fucked up. you just smiled in pain but when you saw his face, you can’t see the same look he used to give you; it was all gone.
you: what if one of us confessed?
i am scared. i am scared to take the risk. i don’t want to lose you.
doyoung: then, everything will change.
i know. everything. it’s a win or lose, but i chose not to lose everything. i sacrificed my love for our friendship.
you both became quiet as you finished your drinks. the awkwardness filled the room.
doyoung: but we’re good, yeah? you: yep, everything is in the past now.
you just agreed because you don’t want to continue this talk anymore. it hurts you so bad. if you’ll continue, you might tell him that you still have feelings for him. and, you know you can’t because he’s already involved with someone else. instead, you divert his attention to another topic.
you: btw, how’s your girlfriend? when will I’m going to meet her?
everything went slow. you saw his eyes twinkle when you mentioned that. while your gaze was focused on him. that was the moment he started talking about her. you saw how much he likes her because of his compliments, his smile, and his hand gestures, it was all about her. you also wish you were the reason behind those, and you saw that as a sign to stop now—to stop loving him as someone whom you can’t have.
you don’t want to ruin a good relationship. so you decide it's best to stay away for the time being—for your own good.
i almost had you; we almost had each other.

Call It A Gut Instinct
cw: none?, this was fun to write ;) it's not proofread tho || era: October 2022
❀ A wrenching feeling takes controle over Doyoung's body and it's telling him one thing, to just "get up and go"
Tumblr media
Muddied red clouds covered Doyoung’s sight. Muffled screams sounded from behind them, as if the person—possibly people—screaming, stood on the other side of a door. He couldn’t make sense of exactly what he was seeing, but he could feel it. It felt terrifying, painful, tense, heart crushing, loud, hot—
It felt insanely hot. As if the blood underneath his skin was starting to boil. The feeling started to become more and more uncomfortable. More and more unbearable, louder and louder! The ringing in his ears became insufferably loud until— until it stopped completely and behind the fog—the smoke that once burned his lungs—a figure appeared. Whether the figure was a man or a woman, he wasn’t sure. It was unclear what the figure was doing, or what he or she was feeling.
Once the smoke started to clear—painstakingly slow at that—he could see the outline of a familiar door. At least it seemed like the door should be familiar. Doyoung tried to rake his brain for an answer, an explanation, but nothing came. Still feeling uneasy, the man took a step closer to the door, but something was wrong. The place he was once standing darkened in an instant, an endless pitch black screen now in front of him, and where he was standing he could no longer see the ground. The black surrounded him and felt as if it came closer and closer and closer, until—
“JIHO!”
A loud gasp escaped from deep down in his lungs, taking out all the air he had stored. A burning sensation travelled down his throat as he inhaled again. His lungs painfully filled with oxygen again.
Thick beads of sweat dripped down from his forehead. From how he jolted awake, Doyoung could feel his shirt sticking to his body as if he had just jumped into a pool.
Quickly, he pulled the blanket of his body and as he stood from his bed, Doyoung took his sweat-drenched shirt off. His mind was hazy but his body worked on autopilot. He grabbed a long sleeve sweater, likely a size or two too big, and threw it on. He didn’t bother changing his basketball shorts. Although also drenched in sweat, it didn’t seem to bother him enough to change into something else. With a baseball cap in hand he ran down to the parking lot of his dorm and got into his manager’s car.
It probably wasn’t the smartest idea for Doyong to drive right now, but all rationality was thrown out the window as his gut was telling him that he had to go. Next to him, on the passenger’s seat, his phone—he was surprised he even brought it with him—was bussing nonstop. As he looked down he could faintly make out the caller ID of his manager, who was likely panicked by the sudden disappearance of Doyoung and his car. The dark haired male drowned out the noise of his phone and continued driving with a slightly too heavy foot on the gas pedal.
The second he arrived at his destination, he felt his heart drop. Something felt off and it was only when he really took in his environment that he realised his gut instinct had been right. He didn’t want to be right.
A few metres further along the street, a police car behind a firetruck. They were parked on the sidewalk, wheels not even straightened as if they had been in a hurry.
Doyoung pushed through a group of people. His feet felt heavy as if they didn’t want to carry him any further. Occasionally he’d bump into a person who would look back at him with a scowl. The nasty comments directed at him were drowned out. He pushed himself along until he reached an officer.
“Excuse me.” Doyoung coughed. His head felt heavy and time felt as if it was going by slower than usual. The man in uniform turned around with a distracted look in his eyes, but acknowledged Doyoung’s presence. “What’s going on here?”
“Do you live here?”
Doyoung’s eyebrows raised for a split second before he answered, “no, but—”
“Then I need to ask you to leave. We’re very busy right now.”
The man wanted to protest, but the officer had already turned his back to him. “My friend lives here…” he mumbled defeatedly. “I need to find her.”
At that point, Doyoung wasn’t talking to anyone in particular. He was crying out for help, for someone to tell him what happened, but even he could understand why no one was batting an eye at him. His body felt as if it had been hit by a truck. His voice could barely reach an audible level and he was close to not being able to hold himself up anymore.
“Doyoung!” The familiar female voice made Doyoung turn his head faster than he probably should have. He ignored the pain in the back of his neck however, to wrap his arm around her shoulder. The two thinner arms of the smaller female wrapped around his waist to hold him up, reaching him just in time before he collapsed. “Doyoung? What are you doing here?”
“Noona,” Doyoung coughed as he slowly started to regain his senses. “Are you okay?” When she nodded, Doyoung pulled her in a quick hug before pulling away again. “Where is she? Where’s JiHo?”
Before Sihyun could even answer, Doyoung turned his head to the direction of one of the entrances to the apartment building. There wasn’t a reason for him to do so, no one made a certain noise or pointed or even said anything, but his gut was telling him to do so.
Instantly, Doyoung let go of Sihyun and stumbled his way to the girl escorted by two policemen. She launched herself at the familiar face and Doyoung wrapped his arms around the girl as if he was never going to let go.
“JiHo, what happened?” Doyoung sniffled into her hair. It smelled bad. Really bad. The stench of smoke, something burnt, had penetrated her hair. He didn’t mind however. He could bear the smell as long as JiHo was in his arms. Safe.
It was quiet for a while. JiHo wasn’t crying, but her body was trembling in his hold. It was clear that she was really shaken up by whatever event had occurred. Slowly she pushed herself away from his chest, just far away enough for him to see her, but close enough to still be in his familiar arms. “Can I stay at your place for a while?”
Doyoung nodded, tears welling up in his eyes. “Of course you can.”
And JiHo smiled. He smiled at him as if nothing had happened and it was just any other day. She ignored them as the people around them started to talk. She just held on tight and pushed her face back into his chest.
“Those idols always bring trouble. I don’t even know who she is, but if it weren’t for her—” an old woman stopped herself from talking as she complained to a friend—or neighbour. “Everything was fine here until these so-called ‘famous’ people came to live here.”
“I hope she moves,” another resident of the apartment complex sneered, not caring for the hostile look she received by Sihyun.
“Hey! If—”
Sihyun stopped Doyoung from yelling at the people who had loudly spoken their mean comments by placing a hand on the idol’s shoulder. “It’s not worth it,” she mouthed.
“It seems like this is our thing.” Doyoung looked down and hummed in confusion at JiHo’s words. “Every time something happens, I can always come to you. You let me sleep over and wear my favourite sweater of yours… It’s nice.”
With a hand on the back of her head, Doyoung pulled JiHo closer to his chest and whispered a shaky “yeah it’s nice” against the top of her head before covering her ears. He didn’t want JiHo to hear any of the other mean comments some people were carelessly throwing around, even though she had heard them already.
“You two should go now,” Sihyun gave both of the idols a par on their backs. “JiHo must be tired.”
“But— can’t you tell me what happened?”
Sihyun smiled sadly. “JiHo will explain it to you later.” She looked at one of the policemen who was calling her over before looking back at Doyoung. She could already tell what he was thinking and answered his unspoken question with a reassuring smile, “you can go. It’s fine. They don’t need JiHo here anymore.”
Doyoung nodded, but the older woman was already walking to the officer. With an arm around JiHo’s shoulder he walked her back to the car and drove back to his dorm in silence. On the way he’d constantly look over to see how JiHo was doing, but she remained silent, her eyes looking at the road.
Once inside, the routine was the same as it always was.
Doyoung pulled out the sweater JiHo liked so much. She walked out of the shower into his room and dressed in the comfy clothes he had laid out for her. Wordlessly Doyoung pulled up the covers to his bed and JiHo crawled into the space next to him.
Usually this wasn’t the most comfortable part for Doyoung. The space that was left between the two caused Doyoung to always lay so close to the wall or at the edge of the bed, nearly falling off of it. This time however, like a little puppy looking for the warmth of its mother, JiHo nestled into his arms. Her head was placed against his chest as Doyoung still had his hand up, holding the blanket. The sudden closeness—not new but uncommon—took him by surprise. He quickly realised his surprise might make JiHo uncomfortable, so he pulled the blanket over her and pulled her into his arms.
“I don’t know how you knew to come, but…” JiHo pushed herself impossibly closer. “Thank you.”
“Call it a gut instinct,” Doyoung chuckled, but felt his stomach churn and head pound just like it did about an hour ago when he first woke up.
His nose could now breathe in the sweet scent of his shampoo that somehow, whenever JiHo used it, smelled ten times better than when he or any of his other members did.
With a lot of trouble Doyoung and JiHo finally fell asleep with their arms wrapped around each other, scared that when they woke up the other wouldn’t be there anymore.

S/N: istg I don't want to only write angst, it just happens. I actually had a whole fluffy post in mind with one of the younger members (younger than JiHo), but I couldn't get anything past the first paragraph.
oh also, an explanation to what happened in this fic will follow... or will it not?

Tumblr media
you are different from them. There’s nothing common between you and them. They should hangout with each other but you are not allowed there. You are being told repeatedly that they are like the royals and you are just a commoner. But why though? Can’t you be friends with them? You didn’t mind the rich and poor before you met them but now you envy them. They get every single respect and recognition unlike you who is under shadows.
Shadows of them.
.
.
.
It all started when your father moved to this new city because he told you that this new place would be a better place for his job opportunities. You and your mother were really happy for this and it gave you hope that the future ahead of you would be a better one. Your family doesn’t need to be in poverty anymore and your days of struggle will be over. You will be living a happy life with no worry and regrets.
But you forgot one thing people said.
Everything comes with a price. If one problem gets solved then another problem rises up.
Your dad got invited to a grand hotel from his new workplace and you wondered how is he being treated like this. You are not complaining but getting surprised. You have never been to such grand and luxurious places before and deep down you are excited and wondering what it would be like to experience such things.
Will you be considered rich or you are still being treated as low class?
“Dad…”
He hummed while tightening his belt around his waist and looked at you through the mirror. He sent you a warm smile and you returned the gesture.
“Isn’t it suspicious that they are inviting you to this place when you are not even a part of the project team.”
“Y/n… I have told you that they are my friends and they are just helping me. Why are you so suspicious of them. We are having such a good life because of them and we should be grateful.” Your dad stated and turned towards you.
You nodded but still you are a bit hesitant to go to this place because of a foreign feeling lingering on your skin. You always trust your dad and if he was telling you to not think about it then you should not.
“I have never been to such places.” You whispered under your breath but your father chuckled on hearing you.
He walked towards you and sat beside you, “come on my child. Cheer up. If you have never been then atleast now you are able to attend such parties. Everything will be fine. Promise.”
Promise…
“Okay.” You and your dad smiled towards each each other.
.
.
.
“Hello Mr. Kang, Welcome to the party. I hope you have arrived safely and have you brought your daughter?” Mr. Kim greeted and your dad nudged you to come closer.
You were already anxious about the situation because of the grand spacious hall with richness and lavishness radiating everywhere even the dirts under the shoes and all the stares from people surrounding you.
You smiled and bowed towards thim, “Hello, myself Kang Y/n. Nice to meet you.”
Two other men also joined the scene and they had the same cheerful expression on their faces. Their welcoming gestures were calming your nervousness.
The other two also introduced themselves as Mr. Lee and Mr. Jung.
The three of your father’s friends had one attraction in common. Richness. The expensive suits and their great businessman aura was radiating off from them and your dad was looking like a mere corporate worker in front of them. But friends don’t let their money to come between their friendship and you should be grateful that wherever you are today, it’s because of them.
They studied in same school, they had same childhood then why your dad was the only one to suffer. It’s because he was greedy and he ran after money without working hard. But they chose patience and day by day they earned their position like this. Your dad has now learned the lesson. But are they same like before? They will still consider your dad to be that friend when they had nothing. Right?
“Hey dad…I was going upstairs and we won’t be eating here… And who is he?”
“Hey Kang, meet my son Lee Taeyong. And son this is my childhood friend I told you about, Mr. Kang.” Mr. Lee stood up from his chair from around the round table and came behind his son, patting his back he gestured him to bow.
His son rolled his eyes but still bowed to your dad in a bored expression. Your dad smiled but you didn’t. Your curious eyes watching his movements.
Rude.
His eyes locked with yours and you were expecting his bored eyes but the corner of his lips curled up. The sharp facial features were reflecting the expensive light and texture of the hall. His smooth skin and piercing eyes with the sharp jaw was a perfect combination for the grand name: LEE TAEYONG.
“Who is she?” He pointed towards you.
You were surprised that he even asked about you. You were trying to be out of spotlight but still he noticed you. Nothing. Just because you were sitting beside the man to whom his father introduced him.
“She is Mr. Kang’s daughter. Your new best friend.”
He chuckled and then laughed before glaring at you, “I don’t even know her and she is not even my friend and you are already referring her as my best friend? No way you are being serious, dad.”
“Don’t say like this. They are our guest. He is my bestfriend. Like the way you are friends with them, I hope you can be friends with her too.”
Like the way you are friends with them, you can be friends with her too.
Mr. Lee was serious and his son poked inside of the cheek with his tongue. He was annoyed but with whom.
Mr. Jung spoke up, “hey Taeyong, she is getting bored here among the dad talks so it’s better to take her upstairs with you all, I hope you all will get along well.”
Get along well with him? No way.
Mr. Kim nodded in agreement and Mr. Lee excitedly glanced at his son. His son was about to argue but his father’s stare made him shut.
Mr. Kim called you closer to Taeyong and with small steps, you stood beside him and gulped down the anger.
Did he despise you so much because you are not rich like him?
Taeyong extended his hand but as soon as you reached your hand to hold it, he smirked before pulling it to himself and said, “oh princess. I’m not here to escort you. Remember your place. You are just here because of my dad and I’m showing you the way to where we have to go.”
No one could hear him because others were already at the table and the music was atleast loud enough to make his low heavy voice inaudible to other people around him.
You just wanted to punch him but you curled your fingers into a fist by your side. He didn’t wait to see your glares but already started walking towards the fancy stairs. You were hesitating and thinking to go back to the table. But you didn’t want to give excuses to them and to have them a different impression of your dad.
.
.
Reaching a green door, he didn’t even knock but pushed open it. He looked back and gestured you with his head to enter the room. His tilted head and tongue licking the lips with the black hairs falling over his eyes was screaming at you, the most perfect man you have ever seen.
As soon as you stepped inside, the room had a strong smell of smoke and alcohol. You wanted to puke but just gulped the lump.
“What are you doing here?”
You got startled by the sudden voice and looked towards the side to see one man sitting on a sofa scrolling through the phone with a cigarette between his fingers. Everytime he was blowing in, the dimples were pointing out on his handsome face. Beside him, the one with wide eyes and a wine bottle in his hand staring at you. The one who questioned you.
“I have asked you something. No one is allowed here so get out.”
“I-i’m here—“
“Meet our little friend. Miss Kang Y/n.”
Friend? Huh!
The one who was smoking also looked up from his phone and all the stares from three of them was overwhelming you.
You started picking your nails and your hands got swatted away by the one who was smoking, he glared at you and threw the cigarette away. He was so tall that he was towering over you. You were feeling intimidated under their gaze but still you were doing your best to stray strong.
“Don’t do that. It can cause infections.”
You nodded, “it’s okay. It’s just—“
“Don’t think that I’m caring for you. We don’t want to get sick because of you.”he harshly replied before scanning you up and down.
“Oh come on. Be nice with her. Our dad told us to get along with her or this princess would complain about us to her dear daddy. Poor daddy. Can he buy a handkerchief to wipe off your tears?” Taeyong had a wide smirk across his face.
You had enough.
“Well it’s good that my dad is poor and not rich like yours. Maybe We live in poverty but atleast we have better manners and respect for others unlike you who are blinded by luxury. Actually you all can’t even differ between love and money. Emotional feelings and materialistic satisfaction are two different things. But you can’t see the real emotions because of material emotions. You all have an artificial soul built by the expenses and royalty.”
The one who was still drinking at the sofa laughed out loud. The smoker was staring down at you and Taeyong folding his hands beside you was now glaring at you.
“Do you have angel eyes to see all these? Don’t think that if you were rich then you wouldn’t have been like this. You can’t even know the air we breath because you can’t even be in our place ever. This No.1 company in this city was built by our dads, I’m the son of Mr. Kim. Everybody knows me here, Kim Doyoung and everybody looks up to me.”
The named Doyoung glared at you in the end before chugging down some alcohol.
“If you go downstairs and say my name Jung Jaehyun. Then you can see all the ladies will turn their heads to get a glimpse of me. Everyone try to marry off their daughter to me so that they can have my dad Mr. Jung as their business partner and their daughters would be happy to marry their dream guy.”
Jaehyun smirked in the end and leaned to the wall near him.
Finally Taeyong spoke up as if he was waiting for the chance, “Nothing can be more valuable than money, princess. Status can change everything. The facade of innocence that you have will be ripped off the day you will sit on the throne. But fake princesses don’t get the royalty. Only the gold ones get it.”
You scoffed and glared at each one of them.
“I would rather be a person with good morals, good reputation with others, instead of with rich material things which can be here today and gone tomorrow. Riches cannot buy you true love or true lasting happiness.”
“Riches can buy us everything, Y/n.”
Hearing your name from Taeyong shifted something inside you as if you were in a trance earlier. You licked your lips.
“If those riches can buy me true love and happiness then It’s better than gold.”you stared at them.
“Do you think you are better than gold?” Jaehyun asked you.
“Yes I am.”
You turned on your heels and bumped Taeyong’s side, you knew it would make him annoyed and it did.
Doyoung shouted, “where are you going?”
“You only said earlier that no one is allowed here then I should assume that I am un-welcomed. And if you want to take revenge for this like whatever I have said and made you angry with pointing at your attitudes then show it on me. Don’t do anything to my dad.”
Doyoung leaned back and smirked, “are you scared? Oh wait are you requesting something to me, to us? I really can’t hear you.”
You cursed under your breath because that earlier the rush of adrenaline made you lose your temper but you didn’t think of your dad at the time that it could harm your dad’s situation. They might can do any conspiracy to kick your dad out from the job.
“Oh the angel is silent now. Who was being so strong a few moments earlier?” Jaehyun’s mocking voice earning laughs from the other two and your tears were threatening to fall.
The sweet names ‘Angel’, ‘Princess’ are so lovable to be greeted by but they were calling out to you in mockery. They were having fun because you were having happy life at their mercy.
Taeyong cleared his throat, “your dad will be fine but you. The princess needs to face the consequences.”
Every good thing comes with a price.

Sinner | Kim Doyoung
Summary: You dress up as a Catholic school girl in order to spice up your sex life. How will your husband Doyoung react when he sees you?
Genre: established relationship AU, angsty
Word count: 1.2k
Tumblr media
“You can do this,” you told yourself, as you stared at your reflection in the bathroom mirror.
You barely recognised the girl looking back at you. Your hair was tied into two pigtails, and pink gloss dolled your lips. You were wearing a cropped white shirt that barely covered your breasts, and a short tartan skirt. You put on the final touch – a golden crucifix necklace.
You’d normally never resort to sexy costumes, but you and your husband Doyoung hadn’t had sex in months.
You walked to the bathroom door.
You put on your sexiest voice. “Forgive me, father, for I have sinned. I’ve been a bad bad girl… who needs to be punished.”
Doyoung didn’t reply. You frowned, but quickly plastered on a smile.
Spinning around, you came out from the bathroom.
Doyoung was nestled under the covers, his reading glasses low on his nose, buried in a book. He hadn’t noticed you walk in.
You cleared your throat.
Doyoung looked up. When he saw you, he burst out into laughter.
“What the hell are you wearing?”
Your face fell. “Do you not… like it?”
Doyoung clutched his tummy, still in fits of laughter. “Is that a fake cross?”
“No, Doyoung, I’m being - this is supposed to be - sexy.” The words died on your lips.
Doyoung sat up straight. “This isn’t a joke? Are you supposed to be some kind of… catholic schoolgirl?”
You could feel your cheeks warming. Suddenly the scratchy polyester of your shirt felt suffocating.
“Well… yeah,” you said. “I thought you’d like it.”
Doyoung’s mouth fell open.
“Why would you ever think I’d find that sexy? You look… ridiculous!”
You gasped. You dashed into the bathroom, slamming the door shut.
Yanking the cross necklace off, you slid down onto the floor and started to cry. You couldn’t believe how stupid you’d been. You wished you’d never been born.
You could hear Doyoung knock on the other side of the door.
“I’m sorry, Y/n. I didn’t realise you were being serious!”
“Go away,” you yelled.
Doyoung rattled the door handle. “I didn’t mean to be rude! I was just in shock. Please just open the door, baby.”
You let out a shaky breath. Then, you pulled the door open to face your husband.
Doyoung looked effortlessly handsome in his plain white T shirt and freshly showered hair. The sight made you angry. You wrapped your hands across your exposed chest.
Doyoung touched your cheek lovingly. “What’s gotten into you, Y/n?”
“Can’t you see? I’m trying to spice up our marriage! Doyoung, you won’t look at me anymore, let alone have sex with me. I can’t remember the last time we even kissed, not a peck, but a proper kiss, with tongues.”
Doyoung sighed. “Is that what all this is about? Y/n, I love our life, it’s comfortable. We don’t have to try around each other, we can just be… us.”
“I want that rush. Like we used to be… remember when we first got married? We could barely keep our hands off each other. I want to feel… desired.”
Doyoung stayed silent.
“Did you hear what I said?” you asked.
Doyoung bit his lip, trying to suppress his laughter. “I’m sorry, it’s really hard to take you seriously when you look like that. Can you put a robe on or something?”
You pulled off the costume and put in in the bin. Then, you pushed past Doyoung and walked towards the front door.
Doyoung followed you out into the hallway. He watched as you put on your coat and shoes. “Where are you going?”
“My sister’s place,” you snapped.
Doyoung tugged his hand through his soft hair. “Don’t be like this, Y/n. It’s the middle of the night. Just come back and we’ll talk about this.”
You shook your head. “You had your chance.”
You slammed the door behind you.
---
The next day, you expected to find dozens of missed calls and texts from Doyoung, but your phone was empty.
Your heart twinged. Not even one measly voicemail from the love of your life? You brushed aside your embarrassment and started off home.
Before you made it back to your apartment, you bumped into Doyoung in the street.
He was wearing a long brown coat, one that went down all the way to his ankles. His cheeks were flushed, and his hair was all over the place.
“What are you doing out here?”
“I came to find you. My phone died and I lost my charger,” Doyoung said, panting. “I’m really sorry about last night.”
You stared at the pavement, still too embarrassed to meet your husband’s eye. “I thought you’d like the costume… I guess I was wrong.”
Doyoung shook his head. “I don’t like the costume, I like you. I’m sorry I don’t make much of an effort, it’s not because I don’t desire you… because believe me, I do.”
You met his warm chocolate eyes. In them was nothing but love.
“I shouldn’t have laughed at you. I’m flattered that you made such an effort, for me! I’m so lucky to be your husband,” he said.
You suppressed a smile. “That doesn’t make up for the fact that you humiliated me last night.”
Doyoung sighed. “I know. That’s why I’m doing this.”
Your brows quirked up. “Doing what?”
Doyoung grinned. He flung his head towards the sky and crossed himself dramatically. Then, he unbuttoned his long coat, and pulled it off his shoulders.
When you saw what he was wearing underneath, you gasped.
Doyoung was wearing – if you could call it wearing – your outfit from last night. The tight white shirt strained over his muscled torso, and the tartan skirt sat like a belt across his hips. His legs were very, very bare. He looked absurd.
You slapped your hand across your mouth, trying not to laugh.
A passer-by wolf whistled. Doyoung stuck his tongue out at them.
You ran towards Doyoung and wrapped your arms around him, shielding his front with your body. A woman walking her dog actually tutted at you. A kid said, “Who’s the man in the skirt?” before her mum pulled her away.
“Stop sticking your arms out!” you hissed.
“Don’t put me in detention!” Doyoung yelled.
“You are absolutely mad,” you gasped, covering his mouth with your hand. “You over-the-top, eccentric, amazing man.”
Doyoung smiled, freeing his mouth and pressing his lips to your neck. “Does this mean I’m forgiven?”
You smacked Doyoung’s butt, earning a yelp.
“You Catholics,” you said, smirking. “Obsessed with forgiveness. Come back to bed and we’ll see.”

I WANNA GROW UP ONCE AGAIN [ L.MK ] : TEASER!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yes it’s based loosely (heavily) on 3 idiots 👽
★彡 In college, you and mark form a strange relationship. (you think) he hates you for competing with him for being the smartest in class, while you’re just trying to get a your degree so your parents don’t marry you off to another rich families son. Years later, an old bet gives you and his two friends a chance to look for your long-lost acquaintance, who’s existence is rather elusive.
engineering major!mark lee x engineering major!reader (fem)
★彡 academic rivals, where tf did mark go after college, readers gettin married, johnny stops a plane, haechan forgets his pants, yuta is annoying, mark is gone. reader is the college headmasters daughter sorry if it isn’t obviously lol
Tumblr media
「September 5th, Present Day, Johnny. 」 - You attack my heart, you attack my heart!
“in any case of an emergency landing, there are marked exits on either side of the plane.”
it’s days like these that johnny is reminded of how much his job absolutely sucks. it wasn’t his phobia of planes or the fact that he is thousands of feet up in the air and anything could go wrong at any time, it was the fact that he couldn’t keep any friend/relationships going as he was expected in a new country or city every week. the only thing that’s funded is the plane ride, not his entertainment, and the book infront of his face is no longer a story but instead just a bunch of letters on a page.
he often daydreams about what his life could’ve been like, you know, if he stayed with engineering and didn’t follow his passion of photography. he often thinks about college and all the great memories, along with the bad ones, he often thinks about his old friends. he often thinks about mark. mark was a strange, but a once-in-a-lifetime kind of friend, he always talked about the future and how he would love to go fishing every weekend when everybody was well in their forties. johnny feels stupid for believing that mark was right, that everyone was gonna stay friends forever. he recalls the last time he saw him, graduation. everyone was ecstatic that it was finally over, all the exams, all the stress. exactly one week after he was on a video call with haechan, complaining that mark wasn’t answering his phone. it was another week after that the messages stopped going through, and it was another month before he gave up all hope of ever seeing mark lee again.
“we kindly ask that all passengers put phones and laptops on airplane mode for the duration of this flight to new york, we wish everyone happy trave-“ , johnny feels the vibration of his phone through his pocket and the deafening ringtone follows immediately after. he bought this phone three years ago and still doesn’t know how to turn down that damn ringtone. he smiles apologetically at his neighbouring passenger as they grumpily twist and turn to get comfy again after being awaken.
“hello?”
“yeah, this is johnny..”
his face drops.
“sir, can you please put the phone away.”
“yeah, yeah, one second, please.”
he looks around frantically, he needs to get off this plane, and it’s not because he’s scared. he hastily unbuckles his seatbelt, he needs to get off this plane. he stands up quickly and wobbles, it’s about to take off.
“sir, please sit down, you could get hurt!” the flight attendant yells at him to be heard over the horribly loud plane engine.
“i-i..” he grasps his chest, trembling as if he’s in pain. all the nearby passengers shoot worried looks at the airline staff.
“i don’t- i nee-“, the plane jolts aggressively and he stumble to the ground, grip still tight on his chest.
an attendant reaches up from her seat to grab the phone next to her.
“captain, there’s is a medical emergency on board, you must stop the plane.”
~
johnny is slumped over in a wheelchair as two members of staff and an on-hand doctor rush through the terminal to get him to the hospital, he looks dead, i mean he hasn’t replied to the staff screaming in his ear to wake up. johnny slowly opens up one of his eyes, his plan worked! he’s off the plane! but how the hell was he supposed to convince the staff he’s fine and is just gonna go look for a taxi to take him home. maybe if he tells them all he needs is some rest? REST? YOU JUST FAKED A HEART ATTACK AND YOU THINK THEY’RE GONNA BELIEVE ALL YOU NEED IS REST?? johnny stops scolding himself and gets to thinking of another plan.
“wait!” suddenly, he jumps up from the wheelchair and puts his hands out to stop them. he breathes deeply a couple times, does a few jumping jacks. what is he trying to prove with this whole performance?
“i’m completely fine now! thank you! you guys carry on, i’ll handle myself from here!”
“sir, wait a minute, you’ve just had a heart atta-“
he ran.
he ran all the way down two escalators, three sets of stairs and out the main entrance. what a shit plan. now he just needs to get home, wait.., he feels around his pockets, where the fuck is his wallet? is he supposed to walk home or something? maybe he should’ve just stayed on the damn plane.
he sees a sign held up by one of the drivers sent for important businessmen, or rich kids who study abroad and get their parents to send them a driver when they come on their annual trip back home, mr. zhong chenle.
“heyy man, long time no see! where’s the car at? i’m super tired!”
“uhh… mr. zhong? is that you?”
“yeah! why, do i look different or something?”
“a lot taller than i remember..”
“growth spurt. now, where’s the car?”
Tumblr media
“straight home, sir?” the driver asks after approximately 7 minutes of uninterrupted silence.
“yeah, but go through the downtown first, wanna see it all again, ya know.”
“whatever you say, sir.” the driver sighs, he must’ve never looked at the kids face if he thinks johnny looks anything remotely like a college student anymore. johnny picks up his phone and dials a number he’s dialled about a thousand times.
Tumblr media
incoming call, johnny, 12:08pm.
the noise of ruffling bed sheet and pillows fills the room, and a hand groggily slaps the desk to look for their phone without using their eyes.
call accepted
“yeah, johnny, what do you want.” he says while stretching. haechan doesn’t do much on his off days but sleep in until one and play video games. he knows that as soon as he leaves his room his mother is going to give him about fifteen things to do, so he decides to just lock himself up in his room for the weekend.
“get ready in five minutes, i’m coming to pick you up.”
“why, what happened.” there was nothing johnny could say to get him out of his bed.
“yuta called, remember him?”
“yeah, ‘the silencer’” he smirked, the dumb nickname still remembered by the pair even after all these years.
“yeah well, he said that..”
“what, he said what?”
“he said.. that mark’s coming.”
haechan shot up from his bed, making his head rush at the speed.
“WHAT?”
“yeah, he said come to the campus at 1, meet him on the roof.”
he looks at the time on his smartwatch. 12:46pm.
“oh shit..”
“bro, just get ready, fast.”
“yeah, yeah i will!”
he ran toward his bathroom, brushing his teeth and washing his face simultaneously. his sister watched him curiously, confused at why he’s up and out his room at 12.
“listen, i’ll be back soon, tell mom okay?, wait, shoes.” he hastily put his shoes on and wrestled a shirt over his head. “marks back!” he grinned at his sister but she just silently stared at him, biting back a smile.
“wait, but where are you going?”
“just tell mom i’m coming back, okay?”
“‘hyuck, wait!”
“can’t, johnnys here!”
“but you don’t have pants on! donghyuck!”
her shouts fell to deaf ears and haechan raced out the house, looking around for johnnys car. he waved down the car after he saw johnny through the window. the door swung open and haechan jumped in, not even giving it a chance to stop.
“now you want to go home, right, sir?” the driver asked johnny, while haechan was busy tying his laces and trying to contain his excitement.
“yeah but go via the imperial college of engineering.”
“well.. ok sir.”
“ugh, forgot my socks dude!”
“you forgot more that just your socks, hyuck.” he stifles his laughter and points down at haechans legs.
“oh my god..”
Tumblr media
the car swerves around a sharp corner and through the gates of the courtyard to the ICE, imperial college of engineering. johnny looks out the window in awe of his old college, which was probably the prime of his life.
the car stops and the boys jump out of the car, johnny goes around to the drivers window.
“thanks so much, now you can go back to the airport and pick up my brother, same last name - zhong!” johnny runs after haechan as he makes his way to the roof entrance.
they sprint up the steps, johnny taking down two at a time, all so that they can see their long-lost friend. they have so much to ask him, where the hell did he go, why’d he stop talking. johnny wanted to slap him and hug him at the same time but haechan just wanted his friend back. they were very close in college, they even shared a dorm room. haechan knows mark didn’t want to cut off contact from them, he knows there was something stopping him.
they make it to the roof right on time, and see yuta standing there with his back to them, staring off into the distance and checking his watch.
“mark?!” johnny completely ignored yuta and instead starts running around the roof after seeing no sign of his friend.
“hey yuta! where’s mark?!” haechan yelled, his eyes looking all around the roof, trying to find him.
yuta smirked and slowly pulled out his phone, still not facing them, waiting for them to realise he isn’t there and come over.
“welcome, guys, long time no see, huh?.” he was dressed up nicely, in a suit with the top button undone, sporting expensive shoes and jewellery, his hair was slicked back, a big difference from the untidy thing he had on his head in college.
“want something to drink?, isn’t this the same beer you guys used to drink up on this roof, late at night?” he forces them to think back to their college days, when they sat upon the roof of the engineering building and drank up to early morning, running to make it to their classes on time, hungover as fuck. he tosses the beer bottle toward haechan and he catches it right before it hits him in the stomach.
“where’s mark.” johnny was getting frustrated now, he stopped his plane with a fake heart attack to be here right now, all for mark.
“patience please, first, i want you guys to look at this.” he holds his phone up close to their faces. a picture of yuta shaking hands with a realtor infront of a big house was on the screen.
“check out that mansion behind me. $3.5 million.” yuta smiled with his teeth while showing off to them both. “swimming pool? heated. living room? oak wood flooring. my new 6496 cc lambourgini.” he swipes through a whole array of pictures showcasing all his luxuries.
you see, mark’s only academic rival wasn’t you, there also was yuta. he was an absolute pain the ass, annoying as fuck but too smart and good-looking for his own good. you, mark and yuta were fighting all year to earn the valedictorian title. always trying to out-do each other with project and homework for a good recommendation from your teacher. of course mark ended up getting it, he was so charming to some of the teachers but so insufferable to others.
“why’re you showing us all this, where’s mark?” haechan interrupted yuta’s spiel about his achievements, demanding to know why he went through all this just for mark to not even be here.
“you don’t remember?” yuta pulls up the date on his phone, the 5th of September.
haechan looked closely at the phone, “yeah that’s todays date, and what?”
yuta smiled and the two then pushed through them, walking up to a part of the wall around the door of the entrance to the roof, that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, covered in green stuff you could only hope was moss. yuta pulls out a handkerchief from his pocket, kicks over a ladder covering part of the wall, and starts cleaning it.
haechan and johnny following closely behind him, curious to see what his explanation was for this.
there, carved onto the wall, was a date,
Sept 5th
Tumblr media
“i bet you. ten years from now, we will meet here. same day, same place! and we will see who’s mor- who’s more successful” yuta slurred as he yelled sternly.
“d’you have the balls?! c’mon, tell me! tell me you’ll come back here!”
Tumblr media
“remember now? i made a bet with that idiot right here. i kept my promise, i’m back.”
johnny threw the beer bottle at yuta’s feet and started marching towards him.
“I made my plane land, he forgot his pants, all to meet mark, we’ve searched for five years, we don’t know if he’s alive. but you think he’ll show up for your silly bet?”
“no i knew he wouldn’t.” yuta smiled. “he’s too scared.”
“am i gonna punch him or are you?” johnny turned to haechan then turned on his heel to grab yuta’s shirt. haechan stopped even though he really wanted someone to punch yuta.
“well then why’d you make us come here if it was just a bet between you two?” haechan asked.
“to meet mark.. and to see where i’ve reached and where he is.”
“wait, so you know where mark is?”
yuta slowly started nodding and smiled. “well, yeah.”
“w-where is he?”
“he lives up in the mountains now, probably works in some rich guys house or something.”
johnny and haechan turn to each other and smile, they’re gonna go find their friend.
Tumblr media
“[name], are you ready to get the dress?!” your mother screams up the stairs even though you really aren’t that far away.
“yeah mom, just gimme a minute!” it’s been five years since you got your engineering degree. you got a good job, with good money, and a good life. but, something’s always been missing from your life, something that stops you from feeling like everything was worth it. you don’t like to think it, but it’s mark. mark was someone who you hated so much in your first year, you didn’t think you would make it to graduation. your past with mark lee is strange, to say the least. you never want to admit that you found yourself falling for him in your last year. he had you thinking your life was going to be amazing forever, that you would fill the gap that been empty this whole time.
yet, here you are, about to go pick up a dress for a wedding you really, really don’t want to be apart of.
your own.
you see, you thought that getting your degree and showing that you can take care of yourself would bypass the need to get you married off to another wealthy family like yourselves, clearly not as your father doesn’t have a son and needed someone to pass his college down to, it’s been passed down by his father and his father before that and his father bef- you get the point. but they thought the best idea was to get you married. it was supposed to be your sister, but she convinced your parents that they can try again with you after she found a man, an art student, to be precise, to marry instead of your family friends son, doyoung. the same doyoung who is going to be your husband in a few days.
you miss all of you friends and especially mark. maybe you wouldn’t feel so lonely if you had kept messaging mark. a little bit after graduation, you and mark got into a fight, something about him not spending enough time with you. you can barely remember what it was about, so clearly it wasn’t important enough to be the reason your whole life changed. the last message he ever sent you was asking for forgiveness and saying something about how you should leave with him. he said he had something to tell you. but of course, you were stubborn and didn’t even check his messages until a week after and when you tried to reply, you found out he blocked you. you don’t remember his number anymore, even though about six years ago it was one you thought you could never forget.
you think of johnny and haechan. two of the funniest guys you knew. haechan was great to study with and always had a great supply of energy drinks in his bag for those all-nighters. johnny was great for advice and pep talks before big exams, if it wasn’t for him your sure you would’ve pissed yourself during your final.
but, we’re they ever really your friends? mark’s blocked you and nobody knows if he is alive or dead, and johnny and haechan slowly but surely fell out of your grasp, the less and less the phone calls and hangouts got, the more you wanted everything to go back to the way it was. when mark was here.
your phone dings, pulling you out of your trance. it’s your sister, texting you that she’s outside waiting to go dress shopping with you, wedding dress shopping.
your phone reads 2:23pm, September 5th.
Tumblr media

(This is a long one)
MINORS DO NOT READ!!!
Enjoy :)
You currently sat in a lecture with the professor a few rows below you discussing with the class the difference between making a good investment and a bad one. You bored tapped your pen on your notebook feeling yourself doze off. It had only been fifteen minutes and you already wanted to get up and walk out of the class.
You yawned again covering your mouth. You tried to blink a few times waking yourself up. You turned back to your notebook trying to scribble down any of the professor's words you could hear.
Your note-taking paused when you heard someone pull out the chair beside you. No one ever sat beside you in this class. People were too hesitant to, scared they'd be judged for even trying to sit next to you.
You turned to see who sat beside you. You were welcome with a sight no other than Johnny.
Besides you, Johnny was the only person on campus people were hesitant to talk to. They may not have wanted the same attention they wanted from him but both of you held a high power of the school. But ever since your little plot of revenge his crown started to tilt. Johnny had to make sure the balance between you both remained.
You smirked one leg crossing over the other as you placed your pen down. You turned your body back to the professor below you.
"Johnny this is a surprise. You know this isn't your class," you said softly. You could feel his intense stare at you. Johnny's presence made most people uncomfortable. They tip-toed around him being sure to not anger him. But to you, Johnny was no different than any other man who existed.
"I'm not here to learn," he said softly just above a whisper. A few people turned around to look at the two of you. Some were annoyed with the sounds and others were interested in what the two of you were saying.
"Although there is something I came here to ask," he said softly sitting closer to you. You didn't move. You placed your chin on one hand your index finger gently tapping it. The other was placed on the table in front of you.
"What is that?" you asked.
"Have you been playing my boys?" he asked with a cock in his eyebrow. You let out a sigh a smug look on your lips. You finally turned your neck to him. "Depends. What do you mean by playing?" you asked a smirk on your lips. He smiled looking deep into your eyes. He leaned closer to you. You pursed your lips taking your finger gently and pushing him back.
"You know I know when you're lying to me," he said implying he knew you very well thanks to your history together. "Jaehyun does too," he teased. You scoffed, sneering, and turned away from him tongue licking your teeth. "You know I love it when you play with me, baby. Just I need you to leave my boys alone. Their weak, they can't handle themselves," he softly protested.
You rolled your eyes shaking your head. "You only worried about 'your boys' because you know if I take them down you and Si Cheng go too," you bit back.
"So this about Si Cheng?" he asked catching you. You felt your heart skip a quick beat but you didn't show it. "Tell me Y/n what he did and I'll take care of it," he said turning more to get a better angle of you.
You turned away again your chair moving over slightly.
"All you need to worry about is yourself," you said back. Johnny nodded sitting back an O on his lips. His leg crossed over the other. He placed his elbow on his thigh leaning his chin on his hand.
"This isn't just about Si Cheng. This is about you finally getting your big moment," he said raising his voice. Not loud enough to yell but it still caused some people to turn back at the two of you. Eventually, once the two of you died down they turned back.
"You are ridiculous Johnny. If I wanted to take Si Cheng down I would have done it already," you said annoyance in your tone. Johnny chuckled raising a brow.
"Don't you think you would have done it by now?" he asked. He stood up collecting his bag. He kneeled down to your left turning your chair to face him. He moved closer inches from your face.
"I know you are up to something Y/n and trust me when I find out"
"What? What will you do? I'm not scared of you," you said. He stood back up bag in hand.
"You should be," he warned before he walked out.
A few days had passed since Johnny’s warning. You decided that day in class you remain quiet for a couple of days. You’d avoid all contact with anyone from the house and that included Jisung.
Waiting would prove to be difficult for you. After all your entire life was handed to you. You took the time off to put more focus on life after school. The business in which your father ran. It distracted you from the drama at school. During that time you were able to convince your father about potentially letting you move forward. He took his chair once he stepped down.
You’d just have to take care of the rest of the boys by January if you really wanted to secure your spot.
A knock on your door could be heard from your bedroom. You stepped out your dog at your toes as you walked down your long hall. Your maid had stepped into the living space motioning her hand to Wendy, Jungwoo, and Ten.
She left the three of you alone heading back into the kitchen where she had the chef prepare tonight’s dinner.
You all greeted each other. Each of them removes their shoes and follows you to the living room.
You all sat on your couch another maid coming to you placing a charcuterie board down along with a few glasses of wine. Your friends all looked at one another awkwardly taking in your current state. You were dressed in a slick black dress with a tight bun. They all stared each looking away from you eyed them. You ignored their weirdness picking up your wine.
“Y/n how has everything been since you’ve taken a few days off?” Wendy asked picking up her wine and taking a sip. Jungwoo raised his brow. “Days? More like weeks. Where have you been?” He asked you unable to contain himself. You sighed placing your arm over your crossed leg wine glass still dangling in your grasp.
“I was away on business,” you responded.
“Business? You left the country!” He shouted frustrated with your short answers. He was concerned, scared even. You had left the country without a word. You told no one where you were going or who you were meeting. They were all worried sick. Afraid something had happened to you. However when you finally texted Wendy back their fears boiled into anger. Jungwoo was unable to contain himself. Ten placed a gentle hand on his calming the boy down.
“Business? What business?” asked Ten.
You sighed looking at all of them. They all kept their eyes on you waiting for your answer.
“I went to see my father. We spoke of my future,” you said. Wendy widened her eyes sitting closer to you.
“What did he say?” She asked.
“He’s thinking about handing the company over to me. Being that I won’t be getting married anytime soon,” you said slightly annoyed at his old ways. While there was no one you wanted to marry, if there was someone this would have changed everything for you.
They all nodded containing the many more questions they had. Getting answers out of you right now was like pulling teeth. They figured they’d let you settle into both they asked anything else about your secret trip.
“Well,” Ten began. “Did you all hear what happened to Haechan?” He asked the room. They all shook their heads you remained silent. Wendy perked up facing him. “What?” She asked.
“He got expelled,” he said accepting a reaction that he received. Jungwoo gasped and Wendy sat back covering her mouth with her hand. “No way,” Jungwoo said with raised brows. Ten nodded. “I found out today after he didn’t come to practice,” he said his eyes turning to you.
“You wouldn’t have anything to do with this right Y/n?” He asked with a smirk. You sighed unable to hold back your smirk. Wendy sat up lightly slapping your knee. She was both proud and upset at you. Proud because you got him expelled. Upset because you didn’t tell her. You nodded your head.
“I may have,” you said placing your glass down.
“He was just talking too much. He needed to be silenced,” you said. “Yeah but won’t he still talk?” Jungwoo asked. You shook your head. “He was sent away to some boarding school for young adolescents. You’re not allowed any technology over there,” you said.
“How did you even pull that off?” Ten asked interested in the details. “My dad knows the headmaster of the school and he owes him many favors,” you said.
“Yeah but how did you get him kicked out of school?” asked Wendy. You shrugged sipping your wine. “I told my dad he was spreading rumors about me. Rumors that could hurt me and trace all the way back to the company,” you said. Ten scoffed. “So basically Si Cheng’s story,” he retorted.
You nodded. “Yeah pretty much,”
“So what about the rest?” Wendy asked.
“Well Johnny tried to warn me a few weeks back,” you said placing your glass down and eating from the charcuterie board. “Jeno also tried to contact me but I ghosted him,” you said.
“Won’t he just try to expose you for that?” Jungwoo asked. You shook your head. “Not if he wants to be the perfect golden child in front of his and my family,” you said back dusting your hands off. You stood up walking to your room. The trio on the couch followed. You opened your bedroom door, and your dog slipped past your legs and jumped on your bed. She spun around before she found a good spot.
“So what about Johnny?” Asked Ten who sat down on your bedroom sofa. Jungwoo sat on your vanity chair checking out all your cosmetics products. Wendy sat on your bed next to your relaxed dog. She gently petted her head. You walked off into your closet only returning to let Jungwoo unzip your dress. Once you were unzipped you walked back into your pink closet.
“Well because of my silence and lack of attention to his boys, he thinks I’ve probably backed down. Which I haven’t! The time away has given me all the time I’ve needed to collect my thoughts and go over my plan again,” you said stepping out this time fully dressed in olive green silk bottoms and a tank top, paired with a pair of greenhouse slippers, a slight heel at the bottom and emerald at the top. You paired it with a nice green slip wrapping it around your body.
“Much better,” you said feeling refreshed. Wendy smiled as you walked in.
“It makes reaching Doyoung easier,” you said with a proud smile.
“But isn’t he like stalking you?” Jungwoo asked holding up one of your pink lip glosses. You walked over to him making him scout over. You picked up a makeup wipe removing the heavy brown lipstick on your lips.
“That’s how. He hasn’t really seen or heard anything. Just theories that he made everyone in that house believe were true. Trust me that boy thinks he knows everything but he doesn’t,” you said confidently.
“And Jisung? Have you spoken to him about any of this? Did he even know you left? Can we still trust him?” Ten asked sitting up. You felt your body straighten. “We haven’t spoken at all. If he knows anything is because one of you told him,” you said flatly returning back to your station.
“We can still trust him, trust me,” Wendy said standing up and sitting beside Ten. She rolled her eyes seeing you side-eye Ten. “Jisung and her are in this stupid fight,” she said annoyed.
“About what?” Jungwoo asked.
“About which one cares more about the other,” Wendy said making you slam your makeup wipe on your vanity. The bang caught everyone’s attention. Wendy just huffed unbothered by your little outburst. She loved you, she really does but you have had this issue in the past with boys you liked. You had always pushed them away afraid they’d be just like your past lovers, just like Jaehyun.
“Am I wrong?” She asked in response to your silence. She stood up to both the boys in the room taking it as their cue to leave. They ran out, your dog following behind them. Jungwoo shut the door following Ten to the living room.
You kept your eyes on the dirty makeup in your hand. You squeezed on it tightly knuckles turning red. Your lips form a tight line. Wendy scoffed rolling her eyes, shaking her head in disbelief.
“I tried to be nice before. Understanding why you left even though I’m pissed off at you for just leaving us, me and not saying a word. But I can’t ignore the fact that you’ve been gone for months now,” she paused collecting her next thoughts.” “These past couple of months you’ve changed. You’ve let this consume you,” she said with a shake of her head. “Jisung was right,” she said.
You turned to her confused eyes burning.
“Right about what exactly ?” You asked walking over to her. “That I’m some sort of slut? An Easy A? That boy means nothing to me and nor do his useless words,” you bit back. Wendy huffed frustrated all over again with you.
“When will you see that you are trying to look for an excuse to push him away? You did it to Ten in the past and now you’re doing it to him. Soon you’ll probably do it to me and Jungwoo. I can’t keep being the one to fix the aftermath of your giant messes,” she said a crack in her voice. Tears streamed down her face as she spoke to you. Her face was hot and red.
“Jisung isn’t useless. He is my friend and he is the man you care for, the man you like. You just have to admit it to yourself then all of this can go away then you’ll be able to successfully move on with your plan,” she said her throat beginning to hurt from her shouting. She looked away from you her eyes meeting you again puffy and full of fresh burning tears.
You felt the same feeling in your eyes.
“He doesn’t care for me that way,” you fought back feeling a pain in your chest at your confession of your dark truths. Wendy shook her head.
“So? Even if that were true he has been a great friend to you. He has been there for you every step of the way. He is risking everything to help you and a month ago you didn’t even know this boy's name. But you gave him what you gave us, hope. Hope that justice will be served. I still believe you can do it, but I know you can’t do it alone,” she said letting the tense air settle then fade before she spoke again. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand. You picked up a tissue handing it to her. She accepted it wiping her tears.
“I invited him over for dinner. Talk to him,” she said, glancing at you before leaving your room. Not giving you enough time to be upset.
When you finally left your room you found everyone was gone from the living room. Reading the confused expression on your face one of the maids walked up to you. "They are in the dining room," she said. You nodded thanking her and headed down the left hallway.
One of the servants opened the door for you. They all grew quiet when you walked into the room. All their heads turned to you standing at the end of the table where they all sat. Ten sat on the left of the table next to Jungwoo and on the right sat Wendy, next to Jisung. The head of the table was left empty except for a white plate. They all watched you as you walked in. Jisung eye's followed you but he turned away when you looked in his direction.
A servant appeared from his spot just outside the kitchen door to pull out your chair. Jungwoo decided to break the tense moment by standing to pull out your chair himself. Once you sat down he pushed it in sending you a warm smile. You all looked at each other awkwardly before Jungwoo spoke again.
"Well I'm not one to enjoy a spoiled dinner so why don't we talk about everything hm?" he suggested motioning to the rest of the table. You sighed and Wendy rolled her eyes when she saw you play with the napkin instead.
"I have nothing to say," she said sitting back in her chair crossing her arms over her chest. "It's them who need to act like adults," she said. You huffed slamming your hand on the table, causing the silverware to jump. Everyone looked at you including Jisung.
"I'm not going to talk about this right now at the dinner table. We're here to enjoy a dinner between friends right?" you formed your words into a question. You felt your body grow warm from frustration. "I agree. Wendy maybe we should let them handle it," Ten said defending you.
She scoffed shaking her head. "Of you'd say that," she threw back.
"And why is that?" you asked her face getting red. She sat up eyeing you.
"Because he's in love with you!" she shouted slamming her hands down. The minute she said it she covered her mouth, eyes widening. Everyone gasped including you. Ten's heart dropped. His eyes widened and his pulse picked up. He felt the room begin to spin seeing everyone's eyes on him all at once. In a moment of panic, he stood up making an exit for the room. Wendy stood up running after him.
"Ten wait!" she called but he didn't stop. Jungwoo looked over at you and Jisung awkwardly. "Uh," he began placing his cloth on the table. He pushed his chair back. "I'll be right back," he said following the pair out of the room.
The dining room door closed leaving just you and Jisung. The two of you awkwardly looked around the room. You rested on your eyes on your empty plate putting your focus there. You thought Ten had given up on you. All those years ago when he confessed to you but you turned him down because you simply didn't feel the same you thought he had moved on, but clearly he hadn't.
What could you even do? You couldn't run after him, he'd get the wrong idea. You would just wait for him to come to you. You didn't have time for a confession from Ten or Wendy. You needed to handle business and handling business means talking to Jisung.
You looked up at him. He was already looking at you. Confused, worried, and scared.
"Jisung I…I apologize for how I've acted during these last couple of months. I have taken advantage of your kindness and willingness to help me. I tried to kiss you and that was wrong. It's also wrong of me to ask you to go behind the backs of your friends when we both know there are some you care about like Mark," you said sincerely.
"Y/n I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have pushed you away. I should have been there for you during the time we spent apart instead of ignoring you," he said a pleading look in his eyes.
"No, you've been nothing but good to me. Which is why I'm letting you go," you said the sadness in your voice had been masked by your sternness.
Jisung's eyes widened his heart skipping a beat. He shook his head confused and hurt. "Why?" he asked. "I never wanted to leave. Y/n I want to help you," he said more sternly, you could still hear the hurt in his voice.
"Jisung don't make it difficult. Mark is more than happy to help me. As matter a of fact he's been helping me while I've been away-"
"Mark? Are you kidding me? After what he did to you," he asked.
You huffed. "All he did was spy. It's bad but I can handle it-"
"No Y/n they did more than that," he said.
You paused your brows furrowing. "What do you mean?" you asked a hint of fear in your words. Wendy slowly entered the room with Jungwoo behind her. They quietly stepped in not wanting to interrupt the sparking debate between you two.
"They showed it to everyone in that house," he said. Your eye twitched shaking your head. You eyed him as you spoke. "So what?" you asked him your voice shaking. Jungwoo stepped forward seeing you upset.
"What the hell happened?" he asked coming further into view anger in his voice.
You sneered looking away from Jisung. You crossed your arms over your chest pushing out your chair. You went to leave but Jisung was quick on your tail.
"Why are you even surprised? I thought you would figure that part out," he said back following behind you past Wendy and Jungwoo. You walked down the hallway entering your living room Ten sitting alone on your couch and in the dark. The servants caught a whiff of the argument and rushed out of the room.
Wendy and Jungwoo walked through the door behind you.
"So that makes it okay?" you asked your question catching Ten's attention. He turned around seeing everyone in the dark living space their features only shown off from the open window where the moon shined through. He stood up seeing you upset.
"That's not what I'm saying," Jisung said now frustrated. "I'm just trying to tell you Mark isn't who he claims to be. He's terrified of what you'll do to him he thinks for a second he knows that you know what he and Doyoung did. So right now he'll do anything to get your back off his, even if that means rating out his friends," he said a rise of his chest. He exhaled a sigh leaving his lips.
You shook your head feeling tears brim in the corner of your eyes.
"That video. That video could destroy me. And if they had it this whole time you should have told me," you said a crack in your throat. You choked up as you spoke. This whole time you knew the game you were playing was dangerous especially when Johnny got involved. But now they had something that would kill everything you've worked for. Not only this revenge plot but your future could be destroyed.
"Y/n I'm sorry. I didn't know how-"
"Did you see it?" you asked head down.
"Y/n I-"
"Did you see it?" you asked more sternly picking up your head. Your red eyes look into his.
His lips formed a thin line. "Only the beginning. I left before things got too graphic,"
"You didn't stop them?" you asked tears threatening to spill.
He shook his head shoulders falling along with his head in shame.
"There is no excuse," he said.
"You damn right there isn't," Ten said walking over to Jisung. He gritted his teeth. His face is angry and red as he stomps around the couch coming into Jisung's line of sight. His fist came from the back and flew across Jisung's face. Jisung fell hard to the floor You stunned fell next to Jisung seeing if he was okay. Your dog barked at the thud running around your living room.
Worried you helped him up but Ten pushed you away. You fell to the side groaning in pain hitting your tailbone hard on your wooden floor.
Jungwoo and Wendy ran over. Wendy ran to you to see if you were okay. Your dog as well sniffing you to make sure you weren't hurt.
"I'm fine," you said assuring Wendy. You turned back to the Chaos. Ten was on top of Jisung hitting him repeatedly in the face and body. Jungwoo above tried to pull Ten off him. His brows furrowed and gritted his teeth as he tried to lift him off. Ten yanked him off returning back to Jisung. Jungwoo launched forward again ripping him off Jisung.
Jisung stood up his lip busted and eye blood red. He huffed spitting to the side blood hitting the ground. Ten stood up as well in Jungwoo's arms being held back. His chest was like Jisung's heaving up and down. This wasn't the first time Jisung had gotten beaten up. He had gotten beaten up all throughout high school. Getting involved with the frat later on became his protection.
This time he'd fight back on his own.
He furrowed his brows charging at Ten. Ten put up a fight but Jisung held him down punching him hard in his neck and jaw. You screamed for Jisung to stop running over to stop the two from killing each other. Jisung's fist rose from above repeatedly coming down to meet Ten's face. You saw when Jisung's fist made contact with his nose. Wendy had too. And you all saw when it bent the other way Ten yelling in pain.
Wendy gagged throwing up on the ground. Jungwoo ran to her helping her up and holding her hair back.
You held onto Jisung trying to pry him off. He yanked you off sending you to the ground again but you got back up pulling. This time Jungwoo stepped in again making you both successful in spitting the two. Ten went to hit Jisung again but Jungwoo ran holding him back. Your dog barked at Ten's foot trying to get him to leave you alone believing you were the one in danger.
"Fuck you I'll kill you for what you did to her!" Ten shouted at Jiusng. You held Jisung back pushing him down the hallway towards your room. "I didn't do shit asshole. You're just pissed because she's not in love with you dickhead!" he spat back at Ten who tried to break free from Jungwoo. A few of your servants entered the room helping Jungwoo in removing Ten.
The others tended to Wendy on the ground. Cleaning up her mess as she walked out helping Jungwoo.
"Fuck you. You're probably only helping her to get your dick wet prick!" Ten shout from the door. You pushed Jisung into your room only letting go to shut the door stopping Jisung from exiting. Jisung huffed once the door slapped letting his bruised forehead hit your bedroom door leaning on it.
"Jisung," you said quietly dried tears mixed with blood on your face. Jisung barely turned to you. A big part of him is ashamed and embarrassed for fighting in your house and pushing you. He didn't want to look at you. Opting to look at your door instead.
"Jisung let me just help you. Let's forget about-"
"I can't forget what they did to you. And I can't forget what I didn't do," he said with a sigh holding onto your doorknob. You held onto his hand that covered the door. "Spend the night," you said with a soft smile. He turned the knob. "I'll clean up and stay in the guest bedroom," he said knowing that even if you couldn't help him, his just being here made you feel better. "Then tomorrow we can discuss Doyoung," he said opening the door. You saw him slightly limp down your hallway as the door began to close. Your dog slipped through just as it began to close.
You sat down on your bed. Your dog followed behind jumping up and laying in your lap as you cried. So many things were running through your mind. You thought sending Haechan away you taking. A temporary break would help solve things. Turns out you may have just given Johnny exactly the kind of ammunition he was searching for. You continued to cry until you finally got off your bed to take a shower.
Once the warm water hit you, you realized you were just going to have to be more careful about how you approached things. Mark may be grim but you could still use him to your advantage. You just had to play your cards right.
The next morning felt dull. The sun was shining brightly in your room. Your maid had pulled all your curtains back letting into the morning sun. You squinted checking the clock beside you and seeing the time. seven O'clock. You yawned sitting up and feeling a warm spot beside you. Your dog is asleep by your side. You smiled petting her. Normally you don't let her sleep in your bed. But this time it seemed like you both needed it.
---
You pulled the covers back heading into the bathroom. You felt less motivated than you had in the last couple of months. You step out of the bathroom walk into your closet and pick out a simple outfit, jeans, and a cute top. You didn't even feel like doing your makeup. Your maid offered to do it for you seeing visibly how unmotivated you were. You decided to let her, she enjoyed doing hair and makeup so you let her style your hair as well.
When you leave your room you walk down the hall making your way to the kitchen seeing no sign of Jisung. You looked around seeing no sign of a fight either. Everything had been cleaned up and fixed. Everything was placed back where it was. Like nothing had happened. You sat on the island of your kitchen where your chief placed a plate in front of you.
"Your favorite," he said in an attempt to cheer you up. You smiled sending him a small nod and a thank you. You weren't feeling that hungry but you'd eat. He was being kind and you also needed your strength. He walked off heading home for the rest of the day only needed to be around for the mornings most days.
You chewed on your food quietly hearing footsteps behind you. You turned around and saw Jisung walking towards the kitchen a plate set aside for him. He grabbed it pulling out the chair beside you and sitting next to you. You both remained silent chewing on the food. Jisung groaned in pain holding his stomach. You turned to ask if he was okay but he stopped you with a shake of his hand.
You nodded turning away.
"Doyoung won't be too difficult," he said he's probably the last one until things start to get hard. You nodded letting him explain everything to you.
"While you were gone they had stopped as well. Jeno got exposed for faking your relationship after he was seen at the party with another girl while you were dealing with Mark," he said taking a moment to sip his water. You nodded taking another bite of your breakfast.
"The worst damage you caused was when you got Haechan removed. How did you do that anyway?" he asked. You swallowed your food. "I called my dad," you said. Jisung nodded returning back to his explanation.
"Haechan was pissed but there was nothing he could do. They asked me if I knew anything but I said no. Yangyang and Mark are but for two different reasons paranoid. Mark things you know about the video and Yangyang is scared Si Cheng is gonna find out what the two of them did. He was so scared he left," he said nonchalantly. You widened your eyes a small smirk on your lips. "He left?" you asked.
He nodded. "He doesn't handle conflict well so he went back home. Johnny didn't even have a chance to question him about it," he said.
"What about Jaemin?" you asked. Jisung shrugged. "He could care in my opinion. He went back to his regular job although lately if someone mentions you he gets upset. I even overheard him defend you," he says honestly. You nodded taking in all his information feeling grateful to have him. "And Si Cheng?" you asked.
"He's still trying to keep up his lie. Some people are starting to disbelieve him but he's not giving up. He told everyone you fake-dated Jeno to make him jealous. They seemed to believe it," he said chewing his food. You huffed rolling your eyes annoyed at the boy. This all sparked because of his stupid lie.
"Is that all?" you asked. Jisung nodded. "Yuta doesn't really get involved and neither does Taeyong. To be honest, if I had to say there was someone higher in that house than Jaehyun it would be him," He said a clench in his jaw as he chewed his food. "Taeyong?" you asked.
He shook his head. "No Yuta," he said. "How come?" you asked.
"He's got nothing to lose. He's really cool to talk to, a real charmer but that makes him dangerous. Beside you he's really good at manipulating," he said finishing his plate. He stood up took it to the sink and washed it. After he took yours too seeing you no longer were eating. He washed it placing it to the side. "Jisung," you called as he began walking away.
He stopped but didn't turn to you. "Jisung. We have to talk about it," you said slowly approaching him. He sighed shoulders falling. "Your right I'm sorry," he said turning to your eyes and finally meeting yours. "I'm sorry," is all he said walking back to you. "Let's get you ready for Doyoung," he said.
----
You walked onto campus passing by other students. The weather had shifted again the cool late autumn air nipping at your nose. You pulled up your scarf covering your lips. You stuffed your hand in your pocket pulling out a crumbled piece of loose-leaf paper. You opened it checking the information Jisung provided you.
Doyoung is the smartest of his group in all advanced classes. You walked down the hall to one of the advanced math classes Doyoung was taking.
You saw when he entered the room. You exhaled remembering your plan in your head. You had to play dumb. Stroke his ego. Doyoung truly believed he was the smartest man in the world. You needed him to believe that someone like you could never come up with a plan to ruin an entire friend group.
Most students here took at least two of the advanced classes, some took three, and fewer took four. There were only a selected few who had been accepted to ten of the many advanced classes available. Getting into these classes was hard, like you did many had to buy their way through. However, the more difficult part came when the students had to actually take the classes. Most dropped out their first week.
There were only three students in the entire university that took five.
Michelle Garica
Huang Renjun and
Kim Doyoung who had just signed up for his sixth class.
He gloated about how he never went to parties and used the time throughout his entire school career to study. How his parents could afford to put him in amazing AP classes back in High School and how he had the opportunity to graduate at sixteen but turned it down due to personal family issues. Whatever happened during that time seemed to have humbled him, slightly.
You walked into the classroom among a small group who also was entering. You felt the students stare at you as you entered the lecture. The professor hadn't started yet. He had just stepped in taking off his coat. He eyed you from his glasses watching as you walked into one of the many rows of his class. He turned away when he saw you sit behind Doyoung.
Doyoung was held in a deep thought as he scribbled away in his notebook. The people who sat next to you tried to look at what you were looking at. You shooed them away with your hand quietly so as to not draw attention to Doyoung. They stood up and moved a few seats down.
You could hear whispers in the classroom. "Why is Y/n here?" they asked their peers. "Can't she just afford someone to take the class for her?" you heard someone ask their friends. "Maybe she just wants us to feel bad about ourselves since our parents can't buy our way in," one girl said behind you. You chose to ignore it not letting their words get to you when you had so many more important things to attend to. And besides their parents did pay their way in. You paid for yourself.
The lecture had started and Doyoung had stopped writing in his book pushing up his glasses. He took out his phone, opened it, and then placed it on the side face up. He was recording. You at first thought he was onto you but you quickly realized he was recording the professor when he pushed his phone forward to ensure he'd hear every word clearly.
You doodled in your notebook not really needing to be here for the learning part. You pouted and checked the time on your phone getting bored of the class. You didn't understand what made this class so hard until the class ended and he assigned homework.
"Okay, tonight I'm uploading a discussion that you will all respond to. Based on your response you will have to write a ten-page essay. Afterward, you will read chapters eight through eleven of the book we've been reading and write a summary all due tonight at eleven fifty-nine,”
“Oh! you also have to respond to two other people in two paragraphs or more," he said. The class had no reaction most used to the work. Everyone around started packing up and leaving. The professor stepped out of the room as well.
Doyoung had picked up his phone ending the record and that was your time to make your move. You approached him quietly and gently as more people left the classroom soon became empty.
"Doyoung," you called his name softly. He turned to you surprised. His eyes were wide, causing him to jump back. "Y/n?" he questioned. You smiled stepping closer to him holding your notebook close to your chest. You shyly looked away and then back at him. "I'm sorry I startled you I just wanted to ask you something," you said but he stood back.
"Oh no, I know what this is. You can't trick me-"
"Doyoung what trick? I don't even know you that well. I just wanted your help-" you tried to say.
"Yea sure," he said placing his hand on his hip. "I'm sure you being in the same class as me is a coincidence and you want me to help you what? Study? Just so you can manipulate me," he said with a smirk. He crossed his arms over his chest standing tall.
You sighed with a disappointed shake of your head. "Not exactly. I really was going to ask you for your help. I've always struggled in literature and assumed you would help me," you said.
"Why would I do that?" he asked. "Because I don't know," You began looking away. Your hand met your head embarrassed expression on your face. You shook your head. "I guess I heard wrong I'm sorry," you said turning to walk away.
"What did you hear?" he asked. You stopped in your tracks a smirk on your lips. You turned to Doyoung wiping it away.
“I heard a rumor you liked me. I mean if I'm being honest I don't know you very well and was a little startled at first but I figured if I asked you to help me with this assignment we would get to know each other better. You get what I'm saying?" you asked somehow managing to get closer to him. Your infamous scent touched his nose. He hummed, breath hitching in his throat.
"Where did you hear this rumor?" he asked. You stepped closer to him. He stepped back legs hitting his chair. "Girl talk," you said as his bottom hit the chair. He just nodded not uttering a word to you. You got closer this time placing your book on the side on top of the desk. He gulped as you sat on his lap legs hanging over his. He didn't push you away instead his veiny hand reached up and held your side. You took his other hand and held it in your placing it on your waist. You felt him exhale heavily breath fanning your neck.
"So will you help me?" you asked with pleading eyes. He knew it was wrong. Everything in his mind was screaming at him that it would be wrong. You were number one on Johnny's list of people he hated. If Johnny found out he'd kill him for sure. He couldn't do it. Part of him knew it wasn't real. He knew it was fake that you were lying for whatever reasons you had. He wanted to trust his friend was telling him the truth about you.
But the other part of him had been dreaming of this since the moment he met you at that party. He became obsessed with you. He never stalked you or made you uncomfortable. He never went near you. He always acted like you were no one. But his fantasies like his friends were always filled with you. So he stole the video. He stole it for himself so he could watch it. He didn't mean for Mark to see, but he had and he threatened to tell. Then Haechan found it and used it. But you could never know.
You still didn't know right?
There is no way you could know and that's why you approached him. You had to have been telling the truth he thought. Maybe it was just girl talk. Maybe one of his friends told one of your friends about how he liked you. How he always stared at you when he saw you and pictured being your husband taking over your father's company. If you were with him now, he could have both. His mind ran a thousand miles before he gave you your answer. He held you tighter and felt his throat and lips become dry.
"How about tonight?" he asked.
"Tonight is perfect. I'll rent us a study room," you responded with a smile pushing up his glasses for him. You placed a kiss on his cheek then stood up grabbing your notebook as you left. He remained in the seat face hot and the tip of his ears red. You stepped out of the classroom the professor standing just outside. You handed him the notebook as you walked away. When he opened it briefly he saw the cash laid out for him. He smirked closed the book and stepped back into the classroom.
---
You had rented out a private room in the very large library of the school. You had rented a smaller room, made for about four people to fit. You sat inside the room waiting for Doyoung to arrive. You laid out your laptop with your
unwritten essay on it. You sat at the table In front of it waiting. A few minutes had passed and he still hadn't arrived. You looked out the window of the study room seeing students walk around the library with their friends some alone studying. You sighed head falling on your chin thankfully the tinted windows could cover the pathetic look on your face.
You were ready to give up. Sending Jisung a text asking if he knew where Doyoung was. He responded with a simple 'I don't know'. Frustrated you packed up your things. As you packed away your laptop you heard a knock on the door. You placed your bag down and walked over. You opened it exposing Doyoung. You huffed going to shut the door but he placed his hand on top of it.
"Wait," he said. "What?" you asked looking away from him, your arms crossed over your chest. He sighed "I didn't mean to come late. I was stuck in a lecture. The professor went on like he usually does for more than he should have," he said. You nodded understanding.
You stepped aside allowing him inside closing the door behind him. He walked further into the room seeing your bag fully packed. You quickly locked the door without him noticing.
"Good thing I got you before you left," he said bringing a chair beside the one with the bag placed on it. You smiled walking over to your chair and taking out your computer. "I'm glad too," you said leaning forward and placing a gentle kiss on his cheek. "I wanted to see you," you whispered to him seeing a light shade of pink dust on his cheeks.
"Did you?" he asked turning his face to yours. You nodded lips inches from his pulling his glasses down his nose and placing them on the table behind you. Your hands moved to his hair pulling back his black locks exposing his forehead to you.
This was it. This was the moment he had been waiting for, dreaming of. He finally had what no one could ever touch. He had you right here lips inches away from his. He wasted no time in living out his fantasy. His lips met yours his hands reaching up and pulling you deeper into the kiss.
An airy moan escaped your lips and slipped past his. He felt his body heat up at the sound of your voice. The blood rushed from his head and to his cock as you kissed him.
You climbed onto his lap straddling his waist. The pleated skirt you were wearing rode up your plush thighs and hugged his waist. Doyoung's veiny hands reached grabbing and kneading your flesh making sure his hands touched every part of your body and as he touched you he begged God that this was real. His kiss became more passionate teeth sinking into your bottom lip and pulling you closer to him.
With lips and eyes full of hunger he released you kissing his way down your neck and grabbing hold of your waist. You could feel how hard he was in his slacks. The thin martial barely concealed the length of his cock. You felt him rub against your panties your wetness seeping through the silk cloth getting a stain on his dark pants. He could feel you. He cursed under his breath muttering words for only you to hear.
"Y/n I can feel how wet you are," he said to you hands gliding down and holding onto your waist. One of his hands moving and pulling the skin that inch closer to your pussy. He pulled back gently and you could feel your folds spread apart the stickiness of your core feeling the cool air in the room. He let the skin fall back causing it to flick your clit. You gasped both falling slightly open. He brought up a finger placing it in your mouth you sucked on his fingers.
"That's it," he said as he watched your eyes water the further he went back. "Take it all," he said. He pulled his soaked fingers out of your mouth. Bringing them down past the hem of your skirt. He slipped them through your panties. His index and middle finger spread your folds tracing the outlines of your pussy. He brought his curious index finger to your clit rubbing it in small circles.
"Please," you begged eyes half open, dazed. He smirked placing a kiss on your lips. "Okay baby," he said placing another kiss on your lips as he slipped his finger past your entrance. You moaned quietly being cautious of the fact that even though people couldn't see you but could still hear you.
"Shhh baby we don't want them to hear," he whispered eyeing the door. He took your chin in his hands pointing it in the direction of the window showing you the students that past nearby some eyeing the window as they passed by.
He fucked his fingers into you increasing his past once he added his second finger bringing your attention back to him. You thrust your hips forward head falling back as his fingers curled inside you. You squeezed your eyes shut feeling his other hand come up from the small of your back and undo your navy blue cardigan. He unbuttoned every button letting it fall to the ground exposing your baby pink bra. His mouth attached the hills of your breast kissing and biting the soft skin.
He successfully unclasped your bra which surprised you considering he is a virgin. The truth was he had seen your video too many times and knew exactly what you liked.
His hand brought itself up to your neck squeezing tightly you bit back your moan grinding onto his longer fingers. "Fuck Y/n cum all over my fingers," he said letting out his own groan from how tight you felt. He could watch you like this for hours. Sweaty, on top of him and lips spread apart creating sounds only for him to hear. He tried to hold back his own groans but a few slipped out into your ear making you rock hard against him.
You felt in your stomach burst releasing all over his fingers. He breathed with you as you came down from your high helping you to ride it out. Once your body relaxed he lifted you up placing your laptop to the side and laid you flat on the table. He took off his own shirt throwing it to the side. Undoing his pants he whipped them away with his shirt pulling down his underwear and stroking his cock.
"I have condoms in my purse," you said. He walked over to your purse opening it not even paying attention to the crumbled loose leaf paper that fell out. He pulled out a condom from your beauty bag and ripped the package open. He threw the golden package away sliding it on his angry hard cock. He came to you spreading your legs apart watching as your pussy glistened in the study room.
He let out an earthy groan at the sight seeing you clenching around nothing. You sat up on your elbows pressing your hand against his lower stomach. His dazed expression faded and changed to worry. "Are you okay?" he asked. You nodded, "Is this your first time?" you asked and he nodded. "How did you know?" he asked. You shrugged. "I've never seen you with a girl. I figured you were a virgin," you said back nonchalantly.
"Oh. Is that okay?" he asked feeling a little insecure. You nodded, "It's okay Doyoung. I'm glad I'm your first," you said back causing the biggest grin to form on his lips. He leaned down and placed a soft and passionate kiss on your lips. You laid back down allowing his dick to aline at your entrance. You moan and bit back moans as his cock slowly slides threw your hole.
You clenched around him. Doyoung wasn't supper thick but he was long, you knew he'd go far into you. He launched forward holding onto the table to break his fall. The added tightness made him feel so close to cumming but he held it in. He couldn't cum yet, not now. That would be too quick.
When finally pushed himself all the way in he moved slowly. By the look on his face, you could tell he was enjoying it, unfortunately, you weren't. You started to feel bored by how slow he was going. This is when you truly remember he was a virgin. You tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he was just going to slow. He finally opened his eyes seeing the look on your face. He saw the bored expression on your face and quickly tried to think of something.
He pulled you forward spinning you around and laying your stomach flat on the table. He held onto your hips and slid himself back in. This time he exhaled hard before he pludged inside you rutting his hips quickly into yours. That's when you felt it click for you Doyoung's quickly snapped into yours causing you to let out low moans hiding your face in the table. You held onto the sides of the table as Doyoung fucked into you fast and hard. You were finally getting what you wanted.
You felt the sweat drip down your body and his heat raiding off of him to you. Your eyes rolled back as his hand reached back and smacked your ass watching the skin jiggle. He grunted as he moved fast bringing his hand to circle your clit. He spread your ass cheeks apart spitting on the skin. Everything was so messy and you loved it. You loved having your hair and makeup get fucked up. You loved the salvia that fell from your lips and pooled onto the table.
"Fuck baby you like that?" he asked gritting his teeth as he watched his dick disappear inside you. You nodded feeling his hand reach down and grab onto your hair pulling it back tightly. You ignored the stretch you felt in your back. Closing your eyes and enjoying the delicious burn he created throughout every muscle in your body.
Doyoung's long fingers reach down to circle your clit bringing you closer to your high. You even loved the fact that he was fucking you in a library with hundreds of students. Everything about it is so dirty and messy. Too bad it was about to end.
You squeezed around his cock as you felt your climax approach your cum dripped down his cock coaxing his length and the rest of it dripping onto the carpet. Doyoung groaned out loud spilling his cum into the condom.
He slowly pulled out tying a knot on the condom. He threw it away and watched as you got dressed. He walked over to you putting on his boxers and slacks. "Running away so soon?" he asked in the form of a question as he went to place a kiss on your lips.
You stopped him placing your finger on his mouth. He froze widening his eyes. He pulled back confused.
"Did you really think I liked you?" you asked. He stood back stunned a scoff leaving his lips. "I knew it," he stated barely even shocked. You raised a brow crossing your arms over your chest. You were now fully dressed and standing in front of him. "Did you? Tell me what is it exactly that you know. Because I'll tell you what I know," you said pressing your hands on the table and propping yourself up.
"I know you aren't going to tell a single person what happened here today. I also know you're going to get Johnny off my back and turn a blind eye to what you think I'm doing," you said confidently your chin held high.
"And why is that?" he asked a known smirk on his cocky lips.
"Because I know your little secret video of me that you took," you said a purse of your lips and arms crossed over your chest. You watched his eyes wide for a moment, you even heard his heart skip a beat. He tried to play it off with a scoff. "What are you talking about?" he asked. "Really? That's the best you can do?" you asked annoyance in your tone. You jumped off the table walking over to him. He remained silent.
"I'm giving you a chance here Doyoung to do the right thing," you said. "By what blackmailing me?" he asked with an annoyed scoff.
"Who's fault is that?" you asked. "What good have you done to me?" you asked him seeing his gaze turn. You started to see the worry in his eyes and you hoped that you could convince him to listen to you. He sighed with a shake of his head. "Give me the video and get him off my back. You know it's the right thing to do," you pleaded.
"But they're my friends," he began but you didn't let him continue.
"Are they? They were all willing to give something up. Break the bond you all have when they all thought they had a chance with me. They all thought at one point I'd choose them and they'd get the seat at the table they all so desperately want," you said silently begging him to cooperate. He sighed his chest was now red along with his ears. He shook his head in disbelief. He knew a part of you was playing on his emotions but he wasn't angry because he knew deep down you were right.
"Doyoung, please. Help me and all is forgiven. You know what will happen if my father is involved," you said the last part more stern than how you spoke before. He hesitated but ultimately he caved pulling his shirt over his head. He reached for his phone handing it to you. "Put your number in. I'll send you the video and delete it after. I'll make sure it's deleted everywhere no one will ever see it. Not even Jaehyun," he said the last part catching your attention.
"Jaehyun didn't watch it?" you asked.
"He doesn't even know it exists," he said. You felt your heart squeeze in your chest. All this time you thought he knew. Apart from you was happy he had no clue, the other part ashamed that the lie had lived on for so long.
"Don't worry about my number. Have Mark deliver the video to me," you said turning away from his phone. You grabbed your coat and put it on. "Mark is working with you?" he asked surprised. "Sort of. Unlike you he has no choice," you said placing your purse around your shoulder and stepping out of the library. You ignored the stares and left heading home.
When you arrived home you waited for Mark to deliver your package. You didn't bother dressing up or getting ready at all. You just waited for your package. When you finally heard the ring of your doorbell you ran straight to the door. Not even bothering to check you opened it exposing it to Yuta.
----
You sat inside your living room Jungwoo, Wendy, and Jisung were present.
"No word from Ten?" Wendy asked you and Jungwoo. Jungwoo shook his head. You nodded, "Only an apology in text. I told him we'd talk when we're both ready too," you said. Everyone nodded Jisung sitting closer to you. A few beats of silence past before Jungwoo spoke.
"What's in the box?" he asked. You picked up the small brown box moving it around in your hand. "It's the video," you said. "It's the only copy," you said. Wendy stood up coming to your side. She wrapped her arms around you holding you tightly. "You tell us when you ready," she said placing a gentle kiss on your temple. You held onto her arm tears slipping past your eyes.
"You know," you began feeling Wendy's grip loosen. She sat beside you on the floor leaning her back on the couch. "Mark didn't even bring this to me like I asked Doyoung to have him do. Yuta did," you said causing Jisung to perk up. Wendy and Jungwoo were both stunned and raised their brows confused. "Yuta? Yuta Nakamoto?" Jungwoo asked shocked. You nodded confirming what they heard was real.
"But he doesn't even go to school here anymore," he said.
"Yeah, I thought he left. Traveled the world blowing his father's money," Wendy said. You shook your head Jisung as well. "He did that during the summer," Jisung began. You all turned to him. "He dropped out after expressing how the parties were getting too boring for him. He said he wanted to live a little, even travel. So he did. He took all the money his dad gave him for school, even asked for more, and set off to Japan. And then Brazil, followed by Greece, Mexico, Los Angeles, South Korea, and more. He just came back a few weeks ago," he said.
You nodded. "He delivered the box to me and asked me on a date," you said. Wendy stunned raised a brow. "A date? The man who is notorious for sleeping with every girl asked you out on a date?" she asked surprised. "I mean don't get me wrong Y/n your beautiful it's just he's a player, like a big-time player," she said concerned for you. You chuckled. "I'm not in it for love remember? Besides he's making my job easy," you said with a satisfied sigh.
"Honestly I thought he'd be harder," Jisung said. "Maybe Taeyong will be your hardest," he said jokingly. Jungwoo squinted confused. "Who's that?" he asked.
"Who Taeyong?" he asked back. You nodded in agreement. "Yeah not for nothing I don't know too much about him," you said honestly. Jisung shrugged leaning his arm over his leg. "There isn't much to know about him. He's just the oldest. He just looks after us in a different way than Johnny does," he said.
"How so?" Wendy asked. "He takes care of our food and keeps track of our grades. He makes sure our laundry he clean and the house is kept. He does everything around the house, well he hires people who but still," he said.
"So he's like your mom?" Wendy asked. He nodded from side to side. "Kind of if you want to see it that way," you said. "I'd say he's a loser," Jungwoo said.
"That way too," said Jisung.
Jungwoo and Wendy had taken off for the night leaving just you and Jisung on your couch, alone.
"Y/n remember Yuta is very charismatic. Don't fall under his spell," he warned you again. You nodded with a smile. "I won't," you swear eyes moving from Jisung's and back to the brown box on your coffee table. Your smile fell as you looked at the box.
"Y/n do you want to talk about it?" he asked eyes watching as you picked up the box.
"Why didn't you tell me Jaehyun didn't see this?" you asked his eyes on the sealed box. Jisung shrugged unknowingly. "I thought it didn't matter," he said honestly. You sighed how could he have known? You had only become his friend a few months ago. "Do you want to know what happened?" you asked him. He nodded, "Only if you want to tell me," he said.
"I didn't know they were recording. He told Mark he was taking me upstairs. Mark told Doyoung, so he had left his phone hidden in his room with the camera on and recording. I had just started school and me and Jaehyun were trying again,” you paused.
“I thought we would be better but I saw with laughing and dancing with another girl at that part and I got angry and jealous so I did something so stupid," you said pausing for a moment to think. Jisung patted your shoulder rubbing it gently letting you know he was there for you.
"You said you only saw the beginning. How much did you see?" you asked him.
"The part when you walk in. I could see your face but not Jaehyun's" he said.
"It's not Jaehyun in the video Jisung," you said a lump in your throat as the truth started to spill out of you. Jisung confused asked. "Then who is it?"
"It's Johnny," you said a tear streaming down your face.
"Johnny?" he asked.
"That's why it was so important I get this. With this, he could have ruined everything," you said holding the box in your hands as you spoke. "He could have destroyed me," you said your lips forming a smile full of hope. "But now he has nothing," you said. "All he can hope for is luck being on his side," you said. Jisung as much as you worried him was proud of you in this moment.
"What are you gonna do with the video?" he asked.
You sighed with a shrug. "I'll watch it. Then burn it. Tomorrow is a new day," you said with a smile.

——————————
"The things I'm about to tell you, aren't so you change what's already on your mind."
He looked through his bag, searching for the letter he'd been given earlier in the day. They'd had a fan meet for their newest comeback, something they were used to by now. Getting presents and letters was nothing new, but there was something about this one he couldn't quite put his finger on. It felt familiar - like a home of some kind. The writing seemed familiar to him and the person in front of him, despite not being able to clearly make them out, was someone he'd known - he was sure of it. He pulled the letter out, wasting no time in opening it to read it.
"It's just that I keep thinking about all the melodies you made asleep at night."
He got up carefully, not wanting to disturb you too much. A lovestruck smile on his face as he looked at your figure next to him, taking in your peaceful expression and how the sun lightly shone on your face, making you look like an angel. Doyoung leaned down, placing a gentle kiss upon your forehead, thumb softly caressing your cheek. He got up and stretched, about to head into the bathroom when he heard a tired yawn and eyes peering over at him. "Good luck today. I love you." you murmured, a sleepy smile on your face as you battled sleep to stay awake. "I love you too, sunshine. I'll see you later." he promised, pressing a delicate kiss to your lips and watching you for a few seconds before heading into the bathroom to get ready for practice. He could always get through the day if it meant coming home to you.
"I keep trying to forget but you were beautiful."
He thought back on it, remembering the way the pair of you would look at each other with absolute love. It was clear to anyone who saw you two how deep the connection truly ran. They'd been celebrating one of the comebacks, throwing a party to congratulate them. He'd come over when you were watching Jungwoo and Haechan drunkenly sing along to songs on the karaoke machine, wrapping his arms around your waist and pressing fragile kisses to your neck. "Hey Doie." you grinned, turning around and wrapping your arms around his neck.
"You alright?" he muttered, brushing hair out of your face while his other hand gently ran circles across your hip. You let out a hum of content, nuzzling into his chest. "I'm so proud of you." you whispered, looking up at him with complete admiration and love, his face mirroring the same. "I couldn't have done it without you." he admitted, kissing your forehead. The way you looked at him made him never want to leave, always needing to either be next to you or have you close by. The way you called his name and how addictive he found it. You felt like home.
"I keep thinking about how we used to be. God, I just hate this part."
You'd known something was off the minute he'd walked through the door. He had said nothing, having a shower and getting into his pyjamas before curling up in bed, silent. You'd crawled in beside him, simply holding him and rubbing his back as his tears escaped, your embrace tight and not letting go of him. "You're okay. I've got you, love." you whispered, your head on top of his as you rubbed his back. You didn't force him to talk, simply letting him take his time and if he didn't want to talk about it at all, you never pushed him to. You stayed with him all night, comforting him in the morning as you caressed and planted kisses all over his tear-stained face, not making a deal or pressing on the issue. Just wanting to be there for him to soothe him.
"Think I've cried more than I had imagined."
The scene taunted him constantly whenever he couldn't fall asleep. The look on your face when he'd uttered the cursed six words. Doyoung was almost convinced he'd heard your heart shatter at his words. He wasn't sure what had broken him more between your desperate pleas to not leave or the tears that streamed down your face. “Please don’t cry.” he pleaded, his own tears falling. He wanted to tell you he was joking or he'd changed his mind, but he couldn't. He wanted to stay but knew it wasn't possible.
Not with him being an idol. He couldn't. He laid awake that night, your face and his actions constantly haunting him, knowing the pain he'd caused which he tried to ignore, convincing himself it was for the better. He'd give anything to go back to how you two were before, his heart hurting more as he read over the letter, realising you'd forgiven him despite the damage he'd caused you.
"'Cause the last time that you looked at me, I did all I could, I watched you leave."
He refused. He got up, and quickly headed to the entrance of the dorm, pulling his coat on and tying his shoes on. "Doyoung? Where are you going?" Taeyong questioned, looking at his phone which read eleven o'clock. "The letter." he murmured once his shoes were done, Taeyong looking at him in confusion as he pushed the letter into his best friend's hands. "They were there. They gave it to me today at the fan meet." he hurriedly explained. Taeyong skimmed through, the end of the letter catching his eye. Besides the “I love you. Never forget that, okay?” was a scrawled sunshine. The nickname Doyoung always referred to you as. Taeyong looked back up, a small smile on his face as he knew what he was doing. He nodded, squeezing Doyoung's shoulder before he left, bidding him a gentle 'good luck'.
"All the things you gave to stay with me."
Once he'd gotten there, he anxiously knocked on the door. He prayed you hadn't moved otherwise he'd look like an absolute idiot - not that he wouldn't already. His breath hitched as the door to the familiar apartment opened, words escaping him as he took in your look in front of him. You were in your pyjamas, your hair slightly messy with your natural beauty. "You look beautiful." he got out, hesitantly stepping forward, afraid of your reaction. Relief consumed him as he felt you step forward, resting your head on his chest, soaking his shirt with your tears. He gently caressed the back of your head, the other resting on your back as he gripped you tightly, almost trying to assure himself he wasn't dreaming and he was actually here.
"I'm sorry. It doesn't feel right without you. I miss you. I miss the way you looked at me. I miss the way you called my name. I miss your smiles when we'd disagree, I-" he rambled, eyes widening as he felt you lean up, kissing him quickly yet lovingly. “Please, just stay a little longer.” you whispered a sad smile on your face. He cupped your face, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
"I'm not leaving this time."

[10:20 PM]
“You’re smoking.”
“Yeah. I never quit.” Doyoung pulled out a box of Marlboro Red's from his coat pocket, picking up what seemed to be his 5th cigarette based on the ashtray. He placed the stick between his lips and reached for his zippo lighter. The one you gave him for your 2nd anniversary.
The sound of the end of the cigarette beginning to burn made you roll your eyes. “Why am I not surprised. You haven’t changed at all.”
“You say that like you’ve kept in touch with me these past 9 months” Doyoung's zippo lighter made a satisfying click as he swiped it shut and tossed it back into his pocket. He took a long drag of his cigarette, then exhaled in the opposite direction, remembering how you said you hated the smell of cigarettes.
“We broke up. I wasn’t exactly obliged to.”
“Fair point.” He admitted, taking another drag from his cigarette. He glanced at you for a moment, uneasy with your silence. “You're not gonna nag me? You hated when I smoked."
“Its not my business anymore, Doyoung.”
You were right, he knew that. So why did that sentence stab at his heart the way it did? He bit his lip, holding the smoke in his lungs for a little longer that time. When you were together, he found your nagging at him to quit smoking as probably one of your most annoying habits. Yet now he wanted to desperately to hear you nagging him again. He wanted to hear you care about him.
This meeting place had become bittersweet for the two of you. 2 years ago this is where Doyoung had asked you to be his girlfriend. Now, it's the place where you first met each other after one of the nastiest breakups either of you have ever faced. Doyoung had never felt you so close to him yet so far, but really he only had himself to blame.
“How have you been?” Doyoung's hand flicked the spent ashes into the tray as he spoke.
“Seriously?”
“Can’t I ask?”
Something about him pissed you off, maybe you hadn’t fully moved on. Seeing him still hurt and irritated you, but at least not as much as before. “I’m fine.”
“You seeing someone new?”
“No.” Saying this almost felt like an admission of defeat to you. Like saying "no, you had too much of an effect on me to meet other people". It made you feel weak. Especially when you'd been hearing rumors of Doyoung fucking a new girl practically every day since your breakup.
“I see…”
“You?”
“Nah…”
“Hm, that’s unexpected.”
“What?” Doyoung blinked and turned to face you, grinding his cigarette out on the ashtray in the process.
“You didn’t really seem to care about me all that much so I thought picking up another chick would be a piece of cake for you. Actually, my bad, you picked up multiple chicks. I guess none of them stuck, manwhore.”You hissed
Doyoung’s eyebrows crashed together and his mouth cracked slightly open in disbelief “Are you kidding me right now?” Doyoung raised his voice, heat rising to his head.
“Don’t raise your voice at me! Am I wrong?! You know damn well you've been seeing new girls every night!” You knew you had no right to be upset about that. But that didn't take away how worthless his actions made you feel.
“Y/n! I'm not upset about you calling me a manwhore, I'm upset you're denying the fact that I loved you.“ He wanted to say more. When you broke up he thought of all the things he’d say to you. He’d apologize, plead, explain, everything. But now you were actually infront of him he could barely get any words out. "I love you, Y/n."
You took a deep breath, calming your nerves “Well apparently not enough.”
Doyoung felt his heart sink down to his feet. It wasn’t the truth. He loved you more than himself, more than life itself, but he was still guilty. He was guilty of loving you more than he was willing to admit and lying to himself and you that he didn't. Maybe he was selfish for wanting you back, knowing how much he hurt you, but that didn’t make him want you any less. It shattered him when he lost you —the person who cared about him most in the world.
“Listen, Doyoung. I don’t want to fight you anymore, can we just put this past us?” Your expression softened, taking yet another deep breath. “Officially.”
Doyoung paused for a moment. “I don’t want to fight with you either…" He sighed "Deal.” He pursed his lips and nodded eventually, still unable to say anything. That made you smile. You always found the way he bit his lips cute. You used to tease him and say he looked like a bunny for it. Oh and how he loved it. How you’d cup his cheeks and kiss his nose. How you’d cuddle his head into your chest, how you’d talk to him. He loved everything you did. And he still did. Doyoung froze. God, when was the last time he had made you smile? He found himself mesmerized, unable to look away from your face. He missed your smile, he missed this, he missed you.
For you, that moment lasted only seconds, yet for Doyoung, an eternity had already passed before you pat his arm and turned to leave.
“Hey y/n!” He blurted out, making you stop in your tracks. You turned to face him, and in that moment he could have sworn time stopped. You were beautiful, it was just when he saw you for the first time. He had fallen in love all over again. “For what it's worth, I really did love you. You made me the happiest person I'd been in years. I would have crossed the ocean for you, and I still would. I'm sorry I never found a way to let you know that."
“Thank you for saying that, Doyoung.”
"I'm sorry I didn't say more. Please believe me."
Maybe it was something about the way his eyes turned glassy, or the way he had an expression on his face you've only seen once in your entire time knowing him. But for the first time in a long time, you saw the Doyoung you fell in love with. "I believe you."
"Goodbye, Doyoung."
"Goodbye, Y/n."
(this may or may be part of a draft im currently writing ok bye)

1 month late birthday gift to @mymoodwriting sorry🥀
Network: @kvanity-main
🎀 Your anniversary was supposed to be held in a month.
The excitement was brightly visible on your face and you had a lot of arrangements to make. Going out to different stores and contacting some very important people who all are of potential help in some urgent scenarios. It's been five years since you were in a relationship with the mafia gang, NCT. Yeah, some people won't believe you if you say that you are the secret girlfriend, because your appearance and attitude is far from the ruthless behavior of the bosses--- your boyfriends.
The first one to notice that you were busy was Jungwoo, as he is the one who doesn't go out of the house often. His hacking job lets you both to spend more time with each other and well, this makes him throw cocky looks to others. You have told him repeatedly not to tease others because of that, but who is he to listen to?
You have almost planned everything for the upcoming day, obviously keeping it a secret from them. And this made Jungwoo suspicious of you. Earlier he was ignoring your weird attitudes and your now and then excuses to go out but one day when you were out for a long time, he followed your location. Well, he tried to but he couldn't track it.
How the hell is that even possible?
Now, he can't obviously charge you for messing up with the tracking device as you aren't aware of any of these. So, he decided to talk this out with his gang members.
"Are you sure of the suspicion?" Taeyong asked with a dark look. He was already tired with the day and now one of his members is sitting in front of him with a doubt. He glanced at the rest of the members across the room but they all were pretty much similar attentive to the hacker like him. He sighed and urged him to speak more.
The hacker nodded and proceeded, "she is acting differently and when I asked her last week. She was in a hurry to reply as if she would spill secrets if she spoke more than necessary."
"Maybe she is tired. You know her café has a lot of work." Mark stated and Jaehyun nodded his head in agreement. They know very well how dedicated you are to your work and something that might be keeping you busy these days.
Jungwoo shook his head, "No. The surprising fact is that she is barely available at the cafe."
"Then where is she going every morning?" Winwin asked and glanced at him from the corner of the room. And this caught everyone's attention.
Jaehyun remembered his interaction with you from two days back over the call.
"When I asked to pick her up from the cafe, she denied and told me about having extra hours but ended up coming home by riding someone else's car. As far as I know no one from her cafe owns that car." he stated and looked around.
"What? And you are telling me now?" Taeyong banged the table with his fist making the ones sitting near to him to flinch. Doyoung licked his lower lips and ran his fingers through the hairs. He was still putting in the pieces together and hoping that whatever they were thinking should not be the actual case.
Are you hiding something from them?
Or are you planning for something to destroy them?
Mark put his phone beside him on the sofa, "Dude, don't think like that. We must be wrong somewhere. Don't doubt her for anything."
"You are not suspecting her for anything right?" Winwin looked at his leader expectantly who in return just poked his cheek with the tongue and turned towards Doyoung.
"Tell everyone to keep a closer look on her." he said and looked at everyone, "all of you will see what's the matter with her. If she is not going to the cafe and not talking with us that much. Then we should find out what's the matter that she is suddenly acting so differently."
"But-"
"Mark, don't argue with me now."
No one spoke anything after that. Four of them left the room, leaving the leader with Doyoung. The latter's eyes followed how frustratingly the leader was brushing his hairs back and sighing.
"I know, you are not doubting her like the way you are showing your anger."
The leader rested his elbows on the table and held his head with his palms, "I don't want to blame her for anything. I trust her so much but I want to know what's up with her. I love her so much, Doyoung."
Doyoung walked towards him and patted his back comfortingly, "we all love her, Taeyong. If she ever betrays us then nothing can hurt us more than that."
"I don't want to hurt her. She is precious to me. I want all these to be just a misunderstanding."
"She is not betraying us. We will just find out what's the matter with her and then everything will be fine."
The latter just nodded and tears fell from his eyes similarly like the one standing.
.
.
"Where are you going?" Jungwoo asked as he saw you hurrying towards the door. You were smiling all the way down the stairs while looking at the phone. His eyes were staring at you with curiosity and adoration. When he repeated the question again, you glanced at him away from your phone and raised your brows.
"Uh..I..somewhere...do you need something?"
"No. But where? Do you want me to go with you?"
"No!".
He was taken aback by your sudden scream, "what? Why are you shouting?"
You awkwardly laughed and brushed your hairs, "I'll be off to the place and will return quickly. Don't worry."
As soon as you took a turn, someone grabbed your forearm and made you turn around. The turn was so sudden that you almost lost your balance on your heels, "What the hell! Jaehyun?"
"It's late afternoon. I don't think you are going to the cafe right now. Your workers told me that you will be there in the evening. So where to now?" His tone was low and demanding.
His grip was firm and you glanced at the hold then at his face. He had just showered after returning home. The others were not there yet and these two were only at the house so you decided to leave without them noticing you but it's not the case now.
"Hey, I'm just going to meet someone." you smiled at the end of the sentence.
"Who? Let me take you there."
You held his wrist to take off his hand from yours, "No, it's okay. I can go there alone. He will be just a few blocks away and......and then everything is fine."
"he? Y/n, who is this person? Do I know him? Have any of us seen him before?"
"Oh my jealous baby, Jae. Come on, don't think like I am a child. And you don't have to know everyone."
He stepped closer to you, tugging your hairs behind your ears before holding your hands and smiling down at you with a soft look, "I just care for you too much, Y/n. I don't want anyone to hurt you. Please be safe out there as you know your life is always at risk because of us...and dont hide anything from us."
You couldn't hear the last words but you smiled at him, "I will be safe. I promise."
He leaned forward to peck your lips and then planted a soft kiss on your temple. Jungwoo came up behind you and hugged you, nuzzling his nose in your neck inhaling the recently applied perfume, you smiled at the tingling sensation. He whispered, "if you can't keep yourself safe. Then I will kill everyone who will hurt you."
You grabbed one of his hands and brought it to your lips, planting a kiss, "I know. I am always safe with you all."
.
.
.
You were safe. Your preparations and secrets, everything was safe. Only two weeks left and you couldn't contain your excitement. Skipping steps towards the flower shop, you were greeted by the familiar man holding a rose in his hold and smiling endearingly at you. Your smile widened brightly and a soft laugh escaped your throat when he kneeled down in front of you, "A rose for my queen." He extended his hand towards you and you took the flower from his hand.
"Oh please shut up, Wooyoung."
He again stood in front of you and smoothed his blazer and pants. The look was stating that he was on his way for the meeting but still his playful nature and his childish laugh was not setting right with his appearance.
"Why? I can call you anything."
"Just wait until I tell this to my boyfriend." you chuckled while looking around the flower shop, "Where is the owner?"
You never used your boyfriend's name in front of anyone, always referring to some silly names or simply 'my boyfriend'. No one has ever seen your so-called boyfriend but they know you always have the adoration while speaking of him—- of them.
"I don't know about him. Hey! Why are you asking for the owner when I'm here?" He whined and you shook your head in disbelief with the attitude.
"How old are you? And I need him to choose some exact flowers for the decoration and a perfect perfume to give my boyfriend." you smiled at the thought of surprising them with everything. He nodded with a pout and stood by your side while you were staring at some beautiful bouquets, "Is your boyfriend nice? You can tell me if you have any problems. You have said he lives outside this country but if he turns out as a cheater. I will show him hell."
"Of course, Wooyuong. There's nothing to worry about. I am fine and he is a very nice man. Maybe someday you can meet him and also, I'm doing all these preparations for our anniversary."
The owner just entered the door and greeted you both when the other one smiled at you before exiting the door.
.
.
.
One week left for your anniversary.
"So, I was right. She is going to this shop almost every day and according to Winwin, our enemy's last location was this shop."
They couldn't believe the pictures and the tracking location of the devices that were showing on the very big screen displayed in front of them. The undercover spy has clicked the pictures of you meeting with a young man well dressed up in a suit and you were hugging him with a smile, also in another picture, you were receiving flowers. The different gestures between you both were assuming that there was a deeper bonding than they can think of. Everything was pretty much fine until the call list and tracking device of yours and their enemy matches exactly.
"Jungwoo, have you gone to this shop before?" Taeyong asked when he placed himself on the sofa.
The hacker shook his head, "no, I never bought anything from there. I thought she knew the owner of the shop, that's why she is going there but it turned out she is meeting the owner of the device who is apparently our enemy. We need to find who is the owner. Winwin even followed her one day and guess what? They were planning for a big event and also went on a date."
"A date?" Mark had a confused look on his face.
Jungwoo nodded and Jaehyun continued, "yeah, she is meeting these certain people every often and that's why you can't find her in the cafe. And this one person is very common."
"That's Wooyoung, a member of the gang, Ateez. the shop owner is his best friend, just for cover." Winwin started from beside Doyoung who quickly turned towards him in surprise.
Taeyong scoffed in irritation, "So that's him? He blew our basement? I was so sure that somebody leaked our plan when we were having the mission in a different state and look, he took that advantage to attack on our base."
"And you think?" Doyoung raised a brow.
"She...she told him?" Taeyong didn't even want to say it but still he did. He blamed you. He doubted you. There was no other option left other than suspecting you with their recent events going on around them. He curled his fingers into a fist, suppressing the anger and hurt.
Mark leaned back into his chair, "we must be wrong somewhere. Or things have not been placed in the correct way."
"No. When I told Jungwoo for the first time, neither me nor him believed this but after one week of research. We are sure that she is involved with this." Winwin himself didn't want to believe what he was voicing out.
His own voice was betraying him. Was your love for them just a facade to destroy them in the end? Were you playing with their feelings? What? NO! This can't be, you are not like that. He couldn't convince anyone, maybe he was not even trying to convince anyone. No one was ready to believe that you were planning something worse behind their back, just to destroy them to get in with a man. The man who is apparently their enemy's gang member.
Mark stood up. A sad look visible on his face, fighting back the urge to cry in front of them. He couldn't hear more about suspecting you. Even if you are wrong, he still wants to see you and love you. His gaze shifted from the leader towards the large wide window, the setting of the sun was visible, "our anniversary is in almost 10 days. I hope we won't be doing something to ruin the day."
The words hit them altogether. Anniversary...they have bought a lot of gifts for you and they have arranged a trip for all of you to spend time together.
He turned around and Taeyong closed his eyes, heaving a sigh. Everyone was in disbelief and fighting whether they should blame you or...or what? There's nothing to think about anymore.
"Hey!  you all here?" your cheerful voice broke the silence. The atmosphere was already tense inside the house but your presence was making it worse. To your oblivion, they shared glances between them when Jaehyun noticed some things in your hold. His jaw clenched at the sight and he stepped towards you.
"Who gave you this?"
You furrowed your brows before looking down and then a smile cracked on your face. Everyone noticed the shift in expression when you held the flowers tightly, "Um...someone. A friend?"
"Friend." he scoffed and glared at you. His expression surprised you and then when you looked around the room, you noticed others were looking at you with no emotions visible. It felt so distant as if you were missing something. But what's even the matter? Mark was standing on the first step of the stairs, when you caught his eyes, there was a hurt look— the look of betrayal.
"Mark-" the young boy didn't wait to hear you when he abruptly turned around and ascended the stairs, without even looking back at you. What happened?
"Where were you?" Doyoung asked with folded hands above his chest, supporting himself against the table. His dark and sharp eyes staring at you, waiting for a quick reply.
"I...I went to the cafe."
"You were not there. Don't lie. Just tell me exactly, where were you?"
Taeyong darkly chuckled, "of course to meet her friend. Right? So, had fun on the date?"
"Date?"
Jaehyun turned to him, "don't pretend that you don't know. You went on a date with your little friend, right?"
You shook your head when Jungwoo pointed at your large plastic bag, "what's all these?"
You tried to hide it behind your back only to get yanked away, "why are you hiding it?" He glared at your action.
"What's wrong with you all?"
"What's wrong with you? Are you planning something behind our back?" His words hurt you. No, it shocked you. Are they doubting you for something?
The phone in your pocket started ringing and when Jaehyun didn't loosen his grip on you, you snatched your arm away and glared at him. Fishing out the phone, you held it to your ear and greeted the person. Before walking towards your room, you snatched away the plastic bag from him and no one protested but watched you going away.
No one moved from their places but only Winwin followed you behind.
.
.
.
Three days have already passed since that day.
You didn't talk with anyone normally. Everytime, they would be looking at you accusingly or asking you some weird questions about why you were hiding things from them.
but , there was nothing to hide in the first place---- except for the celebration.
Only one week left and when you just wanted to go out finally to arrange the last things of the preparation. Doyoung blocked your way.
"You are not going anywhere."
"Huh?"
Jaehyun came up behind you and harshly pulled you to a particular direction, "your game is over, y/n. Just give up now. You can't hide anything from us now."
The other one walked just closely behind you, gun in his hand. "I can't believe you that after the things we did, only for you to betray us."
"Please Jaehyun...Trust me. you must be wrong somewhere. I am not hiding anything. I promise." Your voice was broken yet he was not glancing at you but dragging you towards the stairs. The grip on your wrist tightened when you tried to pull your hand away. The wrist was burning from his harsh grip.
There were two uncoordinated footsteps from behind you both and when the youngest of them spoke up, you glanced at them. Mark was trying to stop the leader from stepping forward but the latter was just fuming and when he caught your glistening eyes, he sent a glare at you.
"please..." you whimpered when he took the turn and stopped at the first step of the stairs. He inhaled sharply and glared at you before glancing at the leader.
"take her downstairs." He simply ordered and the latter nodded.
Mark held Jaehyun's other hand, "No. Don't. Please, we should listen to her. We must be wrong somewhere. Please don't take her there."
But he dragged you down, stumbling over a few places but he didn't care. No one cared at the moment. As if your voice was not even audible to their ears.
You have never been to this place before and the dark, dimly lit room with a damp smell was making churn in your stomach. The others were already present inside the room and their focus was on you— the helpless figure. He harshly pulled you towards the chair behind the interrogating desk and made you sit on it. Your head turned towards each one of them, no one was having any sympathy for you. Maybe they had but trying not to show it.
"Why are you doing this? Please get me out of here." tears were flowing down your cheek. Before you could wipe off your tears, Jungwoo gripped your wrist and tied them to the armrest. Winwin took away the phone from you and placed it on the table. Taeyong placed himself on the chair across from you and stared at your tied up form. Doyoung stood beside him, palm resting on the head of the leather chair.
"So, from where should we begin?"
You remained quiet. Not because you didn't want to talk but because you didn't know what to say. Mind still processing the situation and why they all were keeping you tied up like a criminal. Do they not trust you?
You stared at him with silent tears falling from your eyes. Jaehyun and Jungwoo stood beside you on both sides, neither of them speaking anything and not even looking at you. Only glancing now and then.
"How do you know Wooyoung?" the leader asked the first question and leaned forward on the table.
"Wooyoung?"
Doyoung tilted his head to the side, "yes. Even that day he gave you those flowers. Having good times with the enemy. Right, y/n?"
"Enemy? He is my old friend from university."
The leader was not buying your words, "our enemy is your friend now. Since when are you against us?"
"What are you saying, Taeyong? I would never. I..." you were almost spilling the secrets but held back the words that were about to come out from your lips, "we just recently reunited at the flower shop. He was just...helping me out with something."
"Helping you out to chalk out a plan to kill us?" Winwin offered you an option for your choice of words. You shook your head at him and returned to face the leader. He didn't have any emotions for you. No more those endearing smiles and caring eyes looking at you but a strong and accusing eyes blaming you for everything.
"No, it's not like that."
"There's no point in you lying on our face. You can't fight back, y/n. There's six of us and only, you alone."
You parted your lips and tried to shift forward when Jungwoo held you back. You raised your head to look at him but he just avoided your eyes. Does he hate me so much?  "You all should understand this. I am alone, I can't do anything to harm you all and... I can never think of hurting any of you."
"Don't pretend to be the innocent one like always." Jaehyun spat at you. "It was all a facade to make us trust you. To make us weak for you so that you can easily break into our life and destroy us from the core."
"Jaehyun..." you whispered his name but a long silence followed your longing gaze on him. How could he blame you like this? They never used such a tone with you.
"He is correct. It was only you who knew about our absence for a whole week from the city and during that exact time, Ateez attacked our warehouse. Isn't this a coordinated plan?" Taeyong was irritated with each word coming out of his mouth.
"And you think I told him?"
Winwin caught your attention, "of course. The enemy whom we were tracking has his every location around you. His every location was colliding with yours. The flower shop belongs to them and it's just undercover to hide their spies in that busy street. Your activity was very frequent during the time of the blast."
"It must be a coincidence...I am not aware of all these." you plead to them for mercy but none of them were convinced. It all seemed as an act to break away from them and to run to their enemy for help.
"We thought that too but you have a deep connection with him. Even keeping your meet-ups a secret from us. Don't think of us like fools."
"Mark, you are a fool. All of you are foolish to think of me going against you. He is just my friend and we were just hanging out after some arrangements and if I knew he was the menber of a gang, I would never have spoken to him. But...but he won't hurt me or any of you. He doesn't even know you all are my boyfriends."
"Because for your benefit. So that you can go on dates with him." Jaehyun scoffed at the end of the sentence.
Taeyong slammed his hand to gain your attention back on him. His eyes were raging and he was fuming with anger. You flinched at the sound and scaredly turned towards him when he spoke up, "Now tell me, what do you want from us?"
You shook your head and bit your lips to prevent yourself breaking down more.
"I said speak up, y/n!"
Your broken voice and hiccups echoed the room, "I...I want n-nothing. I just want......your love."
"Shut up!"
"Jaehyun, keep quiet." Doyoung shushed the tall man beside you but you were already hurt too much. You were exhausted after crying so much, the unfamiliar and confined environment was suffocating you. You just wanted to get out of the place and run away, far away and hide from them. You were scared to say anything anymore or they could have done something more.
"You are going to stay here unless you are willing to tell the truth." Taeyong said and stood up to turn towards the door.
You shook your head frantically to not to leave you there. But no one minded your scared form. You were nothing more than a liar to them.
"Please listen to me..."
Jaehyun grabbed your cheeks, his fingers digging into your flesh, "you are only going to speak the truth or else shut your mouth." he harshly jerked your head to the side.
One by one everyone left the room except the one who was almost standing silently since he came here. He stayed back inside the room. When you noticed his gaze on you, there was a hurt look like that day.
"Why did you do this?"
"I did nothing."
He looked up at the ceiling and then at you, "then please confess the truth. I can't see you like this."
"I'm telling you the truth, Mark. he is just my friend. I didn't help him with anything."
Doyoung came back to the room to find the younger one standing at the door. He informed the younger one to stay with you, not to leave you alone down in the basement. He nodded his head in acceptance. You don’t know if It was because they told him to stay behind out of love or they think you could try to run away from them.
Mark actually wanted to stay with you though. He just can't leave you alone.
Doyoung stepped inside the room to take the phone from the table. When he came in sight of your vision, you looked away to avoid him. He waited for a moment but left the room eventually when you didn't look at him.
"Mark, don't get swayed by her?"
They had some whispering conversation outside the door and you zoned out to think about the day, how you were so excited to finally wrap the different gifts for them and then prepare the last arrangement because this last week was supposed to be spending time with them together. But everything went down the hill.
When Mark returned inside the room, he saw you sleeping on the chair uncomfortably. He stepped forward and tugged your hairs behind the ears to have a clear look of your face. You looked so peaceful but your face was stained with sweat and tears. He caressed your soft skin and tears fell from his eyes, he was sorry to you. He untied your wrists and pulled you on his lap on the floor. Resting your head against his chest, his fingers stroked you and he lulled you to sleep.
"I'm sorry, y/n."
.
.
.
The next two days were just you refusing all the foods they offered and you were getting weak. Even if they didn't hurt you physically, but their words, their hatred looks and their harsh and hurtful touches with their accusing tone was enough to break your every inch.
Doyoung didn't let you stay in the basement but kept you locked in his room. He promised his leader that he won't let you escape the house.
Just before the two days of your anniversary, they got an email from someone. It was labeled with a secret code so when they clicked on it, they found out that it was from someone unknown. They have sent some confidential documents. Jungwoo didn't waste any time before clicking open it only to get a shock. Everyone scooted closer to him.
'How is Y/n? Suspecting her now? Oh, poor girl. Don't worry. I will kill her soon anyways. '
There were all the details under the small links. Whatever they saw was right but the actual explanation to their assumption was what you were saying, not how they interpreted earlier. Wooyoung was just your friend, nothing more and he didn't have any intention to harm you or others. Ateez didn't even attack their base.
Then who is this person?
Is he alive?
Jaehyun threw the glass away in frustration.
"Where is this shit? I will kill him."
Winwin quickly followed some images, "the dreamies are trying to track the id. Hyuck is currently scanning the codes. but... I don't know why this person wants to kill her."
"I'm not leaving her alone for any more second."
Doyoung jogged towards the room only to find you sleeping beside the window stool. Taeyong followed him closely behind and he noticed the dried tears on your face and the other one was quick to pick you up in his arms, "y/n, look at me. You don't have to be here anymore. I'm taking you out of this place. I'm so sorry."
Your breathing was so faint and it scared him.
He peppered your face with kisses, you were so weak and exhausted. There was no reply from you and he shook your body again.
"She must be unconscious. Let's clean her up and let her rest for a while. When she wakes up, I will feed her." Taeyong offered him.
They both nodded and exited the room. Promising to themselves that they won't ever let you be in this sort of situation again.
When they appeared in front of the others, they saw your unconscious body in his hold. Their hearts clenched at the sight, the pain striking through their body.
How could they just blame you and act deaf ears to your pleadings?
"I'm coming with you." Mark approached him and took you in his arms before going towards his room with Doyoung trailing behind him.
Taeyong ordered Jungwoo and Winwin to contact Dreamies for further discussions about the situation and let others disperse to their respective activities.
No one was willing to leave your side but they had no option other than waiting for you to get consciousness. But Jaehyun quietly walked towards your room to take a glimpse of you.
He was hesitating to enter the room but eventually stepped inside and found them inside the bathroom. They were carefully looking after you.
"Is she okay?"
His sudden voice made the two males turn their head towards him, "of course she is. We are here to keep her safe."
After a while, you were dressed in a pair of comfortable top and loose pants. Mark carefully tugged you in the bed before sitting beside your sleeping figure and caressing the hairs, Doyoung sat near your legs and Jaehyun kept his distance from the bed.
"Let her rest for a while. Taeyong will bring her the food."
They all left the room but Jaehyun went near to you and caressed your head, kissing your temple he whispered, “I’m so sorry, love.”
After a while when you woke up, only to find Taeyong sitting by your side with medicines and food placed on the table that he pulled beside the bed. Your head was spinning a bit but still he helped you sit up and placed the pillow behind you to make you comfortable. Before you could say anything, he caressed your head and smiled at you, following a kiss to the side of your head.
"I'm sorry, Y/n. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I was so wrong about you."
You remained quiet and just observed how he lifted the bowl from the table and stirred the soup, tasting a spoonful and turning towards you with a spoon.
"Why?"
"What do you mean?"
"y-you are not mad at me anymore? Please trust me-"
He put the spoon back into the bowl and placed a finger on your lips, "I trust you. Y/n, I love you. I'm regretting treating you like that. It hurts you a lot to see us blaming you for something you didn't do. But I promise you, you will never have to be like this again. I will make this up to you."
"Really? And others...Are they?"
"they are equally sorry, y/n. we just couldn't help but think all that......why were you at the shop though?" he quickly asked you the thing that was still bugging his mind.
"Um...you will know soon. It's a secret." You expectantly stared at him to see his reaction but he just smiled when he brought the spoon to your lips. You quickly parted open your lips to taste the spoon and hummed in the wonderful warm taste. It melted on your tongue like you were melting under his touch.
"I won't ever hurt you."
"I know, Taeyong. You have so much responsibility but I think I made you scared going out here and there. But trust me it's a good secret, nothing to worry about."
"Can't you tell me now?" he pouted and blinked at you.
"No. Then what's the point of the secret?"
"Is this about-"
Someone entered the room and he was quick to sit on your other side and hugged you from the side.
"I'm so sorry baby. Please forgive me. I don't want you to stay away from me." he nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck and your fingers entangled with his hairs when he leaned to your body more. Taeyong was still making sure to finish the soup and shook his head at the boy clinging onto you.
"Hey, Mark. It's okay. I was just shocked with you all behaving like that." You said slowly and he nodded, muttering a flow of apologies. The leader wiped your mouth when you finished the food and handed you the medicine to take but when you refused it. Both of them tickled you and joked around and ended up with Mark holding you down on the bed and the oldest one putting inside the medicine and handing you the glass.
Three of you spent some time together before Taeyong left when he caught a call from Jungwoo and he hugged you before pressing a long and soft kiss on your temple then hurrying to take the call. Where you and Mark ended up cuddling together.
"That night..." he was spooning you while your back was pressed against his chest and his one leg was flung upon yours. His fingers were playing with yours when you both were watching the screen displaying a movie.
You hummed in response, "you made me sleep on your lap. I woke up from a nightmare but I felt so secure with you. Thank you."
"I love you. I love you so much baby."
"I love you more, mark." You turned around and cupped his face. Your eyes searched for a particular emotion before pressing your lips to his. He was surprised by your move but when you tried to pull away your face, he held the back of your neck and pulled you closer, making the kiss rough and passionate. Both fighting for dominance but still enjoying the power of each other. You smiled and squirmed when he slid his hand under your tee. His kisses traveled down to your jaw and sloppily kissed your cheek. Admiringly, watching each other, he dipped his head down and bit the soft flesh of your neck, he groaned when you moaned his name. When he hooked a finger with the band of your shorts, you held his wrist.
He quickly stopped his actions and looked at you, cupping your cheeks and shock visible on his face. You chuckled at his reaction and he worriedly asked you, "Is there something wrong?"
It's not like you haven't done this before with him but there was something for which you wanted to wait.
"Can you wait for one more day?"
"Before our anniversary?"
You nodded and he smiled before pecking your lips.
"Of course, I can."
.
.
.
The day before the celebration. You asked them if you could go out. They felt as if they did something wrong that you were taking permission like a child. You bit your lips and stared at them when they were all similarly staring back at you.
Taeyong broke the awkward moment, "I think someone should speak."
"You did just now."
He glared at Jaehyun, who looked away holding back his laugh. The others snickered and you laughed loudly. All of their attention turned back at your standing figure in an elegant knee length dress.
"You all can go with me."
"We?" Winwin asked you and you quickly nodded.
"So?"
They all looked at each other before agreeing and stood up. The one that was hesitant to come near you was Jaehyun. When they all walked towards the door, conversing and joking among them, he remained at the same place. He felt someone entangled a hand with his and when he looked down at his side, you were smiling brightly at him.
"Let's go, my prince."
"Y/n...you.."
You pulled him towards the door. But he was staring at you like a lost man, who knew nothing other than the directions you would give him. He smiled when he noticed the dress you were wearing was the one he gave you on your birthday last time.
"I'm trying to forget about that day so please don't remind me."
He stopped in his track and you turned towards him, "what happe-"
He pressed his lips to yours. He was laughing between the kisses when you were trying to say something. He pulled apart and you glared at him before looking at your appearance on the phone screen.
"you ruined my lipstick."
"I would have ruined you but it's okay coz it's just the lipstick for now."
"Jae..." you groaned but he grabbed your chin softly and other hand quickly went up , a finger wiping away the smudged out portion and then patted your cheek with the clean fingers.
"you look beautiful like always."
Doyoung came back and pulled you both towards the car.
The car ride was fun. Except for Jungwoo clinging onto your side ans asking you the same question repeatedly, "why can't we know the secret now? Please, y/n."
"I am surprised all of you are in a gang."
Taeyong chuckled, "don't add him. He doesn't do anything other than hacking and intruding other's business from his private place."
He scoffed in reply, "at least I keep company with our girl. Right?"
You nodded. It's not like they were not serious with their job. When the work mode is on, you wouldn't even match the people who are the same with the ones you are currently laughing with. Even you get scared. Okay, last time you really got.
Arriving at the mall, you quickly got out of the car to make a quick call with your friend. You told her to receive the perfumes and flowers from the shop tomorrow morning and keep them in the café. You wanted to celebrate your anniversary at the café and your friend was helping you to get all the orders ready for tomorrow so that today, you can spend your day with the boys.
You bought a lot of things, some necessary and some unnecessary. Jungwoo was with you and others went off to other places.
"you are buying us gifts but not letting us buy for you."
"tomorrow."
"Why? I can buy it today. Wait, I can buy for you everyday."
"Don't show off." You turned around to look at the dress when he picked one from the other row and handed it to you, "wear this tomorrow. This is so perfect."
"are you serious? Do you know my size?"
He smirked and bent to whisper in your ears, "I know every inch and curves how they would fit them and how it would be easy to rip off."
Your eyes went round and you hit his arm when he burst out laughing, "Jungwoo!"
You snatched the dress and walked towards the trial room and when you put on the dress, it seemed like it was the one for you. As if They will marry you tomorrow. Marriage...
Jungwoo knocked at the door and when you opened it, he pushed you inside and locked the door behind.
"what happened?"
"I don't want others to get to see you before me." his gaze moved and his breath hitched. You were looking more beautiful than he projected an imagery picture of you in the dress in his mind.
He pecked your lips and then your temple, "you look like mine. I love you, y/n."
"Always yours. I love you so much Jungwoo."
Done with the things you wanted to buy. Jungwoo went to where Jaehyun was and you were alone walking through the newborn section and smiling. You picked up a pink baby wrap towel and someone back hugged you.
"why are you buying this?" his deep voice sent a shiver down your body.
"I am not buying...just watching... they are so cute. Look at this, Taeyong."
He pressed a kiss on your cheek, "We can someday when we will have a baby."
You turned around when his arms dropped down, "it will be soon."
He smirked to see the excitement on your face, he tugged your hairs before raising a brow, "so am I getting the hint to spend some time with me and then we can expand our family. You and I and our daughter."
"you want a girl?"
"I'm fine with both but to have a girl. I love the idea of mini you running around the house and us all chasing her around."
You hugged him tightly, "I love you, Taeyong."
"I love you too, my princess."
"Wait for tomorrow, please."
"Of course."
.
.
You all went home after almost buying the whole mall and Jaehyun was casually showing off and showing smirks that he brought the costliest items. Oh boy! How wrong he is. He should just see the expenses of Taeyong. Winwin whispered to you that he would be sleeping with you because both of you haven't spent a night together. You agreed quickly.
After the dinner when you were going towards the room, Winwin asked you to go with him to the garden and of course, you would.
"So why are we here?" you were staring up at the sky while sitting on the outdoor swing with him by your side.
"I'm sorry." He muttered quietly.
"I know."
He turned towards you and shook his head, "don't forgive us so easily, y/n. we don't deserve it."
"Then don't say sorry. Stop reminding me about that. Think about tomorrow and let us enjoy the night."
He caressed your head, " you are the sweetest one. The innocent one in our life and I don't want to hurt you but still I did."
"And I forgive you."
He sadly chuckled and pulled you closer, "Can you tell me the secret for tomorrow?"
You stared at him and waited if he wanted to say something but when he didn't, you kissed his cheek and smiled, "No. You have to wait."
"Are you planning a surprise? For us?"
"Maybe...or something more than you can expect."
He furrowed his brows when you caressed his cheek softly, "see...you are the innocent one now."
"really?" he grabbed your neck and pulled you in for a hungry and deep kiss. You were laughing and clutching his shirt. His other hand was caressing your back and hands, melting you under his control. He pulled apart and started panting for air.
"And now?"
"still the innocent." As the words left your mouth, he swept you in his arms and turned round and round. Both of your laughs echoed in the garden.
"I love you...I love you...I love you, My innocent girl."
"I love you too, my innocent boy."
Your teasing made him tickle you in his hold and you laughed out more.
Taeyong was watching you from his balcony with the wine in his hand. He was smiling ear to ear seeing you so happy.
He would keep you safe till the end.
.
.
.
Finally THE DAY.
Winwin woke you up, calling out your name lightly and keeping you close to him. He peppered your face with kisses and you were giggling all the way when he scooped you in his arms and took you to the bathroom to get ready. You looked at the mirror and felt so happy, quickly did your morning routine before running down the stairs to greet your boys. But you could only find Doyoung at the table preparing the plates and decorating it with the final touch.
The house looked amazing.
"Don't tell me you all did this within a night."
"Then What do you think? You were blind to not notice it till yesterday?"
You reached near the table and when you went to pick up a pancake, he swatted your hand away and you whined.
"Let others come. No eating before greeting."
"No greetings to you."
You turned around and folded your hands above your chest, he chuckled and with slow steps went behind you and snaked his arms around, resting his head on your shoulder.
"Happy Anniversary, My love." He kissed your shoulder, the deep round neckline of the dress gave him access to your soft flesh. Your hairs were tied up and he kissed the crook of your neck and his teeth grazing the skin and licking the jaw, "I love you, y/n."
"Doyoung, I love you. Happy Anniversary."
He turned you around to kiss you. His kisses are always soft and takes his whole time to devour the moment. Just like now, he didn't care what others will see but he just wanted to show you his love for you.
You were smiling all the while but the sweet moment got interrupted by the one who could enter the place without any sound but to disturb you both, he purposely made sounds.
"Did I interrupt something?"
"Yes. My love life." Doyoung spat at him and groaned but didn't let you go when the other one laughed and came near you.
You pulled apart from the kiss and looked at Taeyong. The other one was back hugging you and nuzzling his nose into your neck.
Taeyong cupped your cheek, "happy anniversary, princess."
"Happy anniversary girl's dad."
"Huh?"
"Nothing." You laughed out and noticed Jungwoo and Winwin entering the place when one of them muttered a quiet happy anniversary to you because he was always shy in front of others but the other one had to make it dramatic.
"Everyone. Present here. Wait two are missing."
All of you were watching his stupid act, standing on the chair. He craned his neck to look at the stairs and waited for a few seconds before Mark and Jaehyun walked down with bright smiles on their faces.
"Okay here we have Mark and Jaehyun. Then We have Winwin at the table. Mr. Taeyong and Doyoung with our special girl, y/n." He stepped forward to you and took out a flower and kissed it before extending it to you, " a token of love for my precious soul."
"Thank you. Happy Anniversary to my dramatic love."
"Happy Anniversary, y/n." He pulled you away from the one hugging you and stepped towards the table.
You sat between Jaehyun and Mark and they both greeted you following with a smile and soft kiss. Doyoung cut a piece of the pancake and brought it to your lips. You chuckled and quickly ate it.
"Are these all for me?"you asked them.
"Yes. All for the special one." Mark excitedly said and kissed your cheek.
Winwin cleared his throat from across the table, "so what should we do today?"
"Give her the gifts."Mark proposed the idea but you quickly shook your head.
"No not now. My surprise is still left."
"Wait. Yeah, the secret. So tell me." Winwin happily nodded and stared at you.
"No. Get dressed. We are going to my cafe and then everything will be revealed."
"Promise?"
"Of course, Doyoung."
They all quickly dressed up in some denims or leathers but of course they were looking fine individually. You couldn't take your eyes from one of them. Are you even matching with them?
You looked down at your dress and Jungwoo grabbed your shoulders to face them.
"How is she looking?"
The moment their gaze fell on you, everyone stopped, everything was still, a look of adoration and love painted across their faces. They approached where you were shyly looking away when Jungwoo was keeping you in place.
"You look like my queen, love." Taeyong took your hand and kissed the back of your hand. Jaehyun kissed the side of your head and pulled you towards him, "well, we have something more to say but let's go to the cafe first."
"Then let's go."
It didn't take much time to reach the destination but as soon as you stepped inside the door. You started to feel nervous and that did get noticed by them. They were mesmerized by the wonderful decoration that you did and planned for the day. Somewhere, they felt sorry to even blame you for keeping secrets for this. Doyoung didn't leave your hand when you were showing around the details you organized which perfectly matched all six of their likings but the moment they came across the pink box with a letter on top of it. You stopped them.
"Wait!"
They all turned towards you.
"There's something I want to tell you."
Taeyong smiled at you, "go ahead."
"No. First you gave me the surprise and then I did so now it's your turn to tell me first and then I will. How about this?"
Mark smiled and approached you, hugging you from behind and then you noticed Taeyong pulling out a box from his leather jacket.
"Woah! What's that?"
"It's-"
“Y/n!”
“Y/n!”
"Y/n!"
You knew your friend's voice and when you heard her screaming from outside, you ran towards the door and pushed it open.
The boys shouted out your name but you didn't listen and searched for your friend outside the cafe.
There was no one.
No one on the silent and peaceful afternoon street. You felt weird because you were so sure that you heard your friend call out for you so many times.
Are you hearing things?
You felt someone watching you. You looked in each direction but you couldn't see anyone. The boys already exited the cafe.
"Who was there?" Winwin asked while looking around.
"I heard my friend calling for me."
"Then where is she?"
"I don't know."
Doyoung stepped in front of you and held your wrist, "let's go inside. Maybe she was fooling around."
You nodded and turned around with them.
But the moment you took a step.
All of you heard a gunshot.
What happened?
"Ah...D-doyoung."
"Y/n!"
As soon as they saw you, blood was flowing out of your chest. You got shot? Who shot you? They frantically looked around but there was no one in their sight. Doyoung sat on his knees when he felt your limp body leaning on him.
"It's okay, y/n. I will save you. Just wait for a while. We will take you to the hospital soon."
He held your hand when Mark was searching for a way to stop the flow of blood. But his mind was not working and processing the things to do.
The day started with so much joy and love but suddenly what just happened?
Both of the men by your side were scared. Scared to lose you. You were fighting back the urge to seep into sleep but clutched his hand tightly to stay awake. Mark was repeatedly telling you to keep your eyes open.
"Baring the car. Do it fast." Taeyong pushed Jaehyun towards the car but you weakly called out their names and asked them to come to you.
"Just take her to the hospital. Now!"
"Mark. No...I-i don't think I can make it."
"No no y/n. You can." He pressed your hand, which was clutching your chest.
"Taeyong, tell me what you wanted to say. Please"
"Let's go to the hospital."
you shook your head and looked at Winwin, "Can you bring me the pink box? please..." you coughed. Jaehyun already went to bring the car and you were clutching Doyoung's hand tightly. tears escaping your eyes even though you didn't want to cry. Winwin jogged inside the cafe and quickly he picked up the note and the box and wasting no more time, he went towards you.
"Get inside." Jaehyun opened the door for you all.
"Taeyong, tell me please."
he was hesitant to tell you at that moment but wasting unnecessary time means risking your life more. your breath was heaving and Mark was trying his best to keep you awake. Winwin approached the scene and when you noticed him, you weakly smiled at him.
But Taeyong pulled out the black box from his jacket and opened it. your glistening eyes blinked slowly, everything was blur, you could feel a small thing placed on your palm. Taeyong took your hand away from Doyoung's shirt.
you brought the thing closer to you.
It's a ring.
before you could say anything. you all entered the care. you were still looking at the ring. When Jungwoo noticed your fixed gaze on the ring and your grip was about to loosen. He curled your fingers and held your fist tightly.
Taeyong held back his tears and weakly said from the passenger seat, "we were going to ask you to marry us. A proposal ring."
you heard them. you wanted to say a lot of things but you couldn't. you wanted to say something else at the moment.
"Winwin, give the box to Taeyong." he was quick to follow your words. Jaehyun was often glancing at you from the rear mirror and to the front. their base hospital is a bit far away and they couldn't risk you reaching there so whatever problem they have to face, they were going to if they had to go to the city hospital.
Winwin kept the note in his hand and it was shaking in his hold.
"trust me...i love you......" you weakly whispered but the one holding you heard it.
"Y/n...y/n...don't close your eyes...please..hey stay awake."
you didn't open your eyes.
nor you were clutching his hand.
"y/n..."
"drive faster!" Taeyong almost shouted at him.
Mark hesitatingly asked, "what's inside the box?"
Taeyong stared at it for a while and then when he opened it. A tear dropped inside the box. Jaehyun's breath hitched and looked at you but your eyes were closed.
"Y/n...baby..."
aren't you going to smile at him? atleast for the last time.
Congratulations! It's a girl.'
Mark snatched the box from him and his eyes went wide. he urged the other to open the note and there it was, you have ranted everything like always and in the end,
'I collected some flowers for each day after I got the news of pregnancy. I could tell you earlier but I wanted to say it on a special day. I am not hiding anything from you except this. Just trust me. I want to give it to you all as a surprise.'
Jungwoo brought your hand to his lips to plant a kiss.
Doyoung pressed a kiss on your temple, "I trust you."
Are you just going to leave them now?
They won’t trust anything anymore when you didn’t even say the final goodbye.

Shotgun Fiancé | Kim Doyoung
Summary: Your boyfriend tells his parents you’re engaged. You have to play along….
Genre: Established relationship AU, angsty, suggestive at the end
Word Count: 0.7k
Tumblr media
KNOCK KNOCK
You stand in front of Doyoung's door, heart racing.
It's Doyoung's family reunion, and as his girlfriend of three years, you are expected to attend.
Doyoung pulls the door open. You twirl, expecting him to compliment your outfit, and maybe kiss away your nerves.
But he doesn't compliment you. He doesn't even smile. Doyoung just grabs your arm and pulls you into the house.
"Just play along," Doyoung said through gritted teeth. You had just arrived to meet his family.
"What do you m-"
"Y/n, darling, you're here!"  Doyoung’s mother pulled you in for a tight hug, her perfume sickly sweet.
"Congratulations!" she said, pinching your cheeks.
You glance at Doyoung, confused, but he's gnawing at his fingernail and avoiding your gaze.
"Congratulations for what?"
Doyoung's mother shook her head, laughing. "For your engagement, silly!"
Your mouth fell open.
Doyoung laughed loudly and swung his arm over your shoulder. "And that's the face she made when I proposed!"
When his mother was out of earshot, you turned to him.
"Engaged? What the hell?"
Doyoung rolled his eyes. "I needed something. My brother made partner at his law firm. And ran a marathon for some stupid orphan charity." Doyoung scowled. "Brown noser."
"And you had to get engaged?"
Doyoung shrugged. "My parents are eating it up. Plus, a girlfriend is like the one thing Johnny doesn’t have. Just fake it.”
Despite how petty Doyoung was being, your heart fluttered at the thought of being Doyoung's fiancé… even a fake one.
"And when we're you going to tell me about this?"
"I just thought of it an hour ago!" Doyoung whined. "Come on, baby. You can fake it, can't you?"
You winked. "I guess I have some experience in faking it."
Doyoung shot you a look. "One more thing." He grabbed your left hand and slid a diamond ring on your fourth finger. It fit perfectly.
You gasped. "Where did you get this?"
"Some great aunt – while Miracle Child got the 24 karat gold ring from my mother, I was stuck with this one. No surprises there.”
Linking your arms together, you walked into the living room and faced your audience.
---
At the end of the night, you were exhausted.
You and Doyoung slumped side by side on his bed, too tired to change out of your fancy clothes.
You'd just spent the last three hours being congratulated by virtual strangers. You'd had to make up stories about how he proposed, how your family reacted, what wedding China you would pick out…
A single tear trickled down your cheek. You sniffed.
Doyoung, who was lying with his eyes closed, turned towards you.
"Hey, what’s wrong?"
"I don't know," you said, roughly swiping away your tears.
Doyoung touched your arm lightly, but you shrugged him off and jumped off the bed.
"This is a bit... much, Doyoung. I’m going to stay at mine tonight."
You twisted the ring on your finger, trying to pull it off. But it wouldn't budge. A burst of pain shot up your hand.
"Fuck!"
Doyoung jumped off the bed and took your hands in his. Gently, he pulled the ring off your finger.
Your breaths slowed.
Doyoung pressed his forehead against yours and shut his eyes. "I'm sorry I sprung that fake engagement on you. It wasn't cool."
You hummed in agreement.
"I love you, Y/n. And you know… I want it all. Two kids, the little cottage on the edge of town, the minivan…”
You couldn't help but smile. "I want that too.  Just… leave the proposal to me next time, alright?”
Doyoung grinned "Hell yeah. I want to be pampered. Flowers, chocolates, candles… treat me like a princess."
"That there - is why I love you."
You pulled Doyoung in for a kiss, still laughing as your lips met.
Doyoung would make the perfect husband.

Tumblr media
Your boyfriend prided himself in learning and knowing everything about you; he knew you better than anyone, and even you couldn’t deny that.
Jaehyun had memorized your endearing quirks and habits, learned to appease your unique sense of humor, mentally noted your list of pet peeves, watched warily for signs of your stressors. He knew these things about you practically better than he knew himself. He was observant, patient, a good listener. All of the qualities that made you so very sure that you were in love with him, and he with you, because who else would make the time and effort to know you so well, if they weren’t.
A few months into the relationship, Jaehyun noticed the slight mood changes you would go through, where for a month or so, you would feel fine, happy, whole. Then, out of nowhere and entirely unannounced, a wave of stress would hit you. You had a sensitive soul, one prone to be affected by the external factors that were out of your control, and when too many things went wrong all at once, you would break down.
His heart ached every time he realized that he couldn’t always make it better, but nonetheless, he never stopped trying.
Today was one of those days. Your really, really shitty days.
Earlier in the week, you and one of your long term friends had a fight and stopped talking. A mere two hours later, you got stuck in the middle of a rainstorm waiting for the train home. The rain caused you to get sick with migraines, nausea, and fever galore, which you had to endure every day of class for the remainder of the week. Your sleep schedule was suffering, since you were in a constant battle with your illness which wore you down. The medication you needed barely aided your symptoms, only serving to make you drowsy, and the countless stacks of notes you needed to study for today’s midterm were relentlessly packed with information. A midterm worth a considerable, significant amount of your grade, which you failed with a 47%.
The front door slammed behind you, bag crashing to the floor as you stepped inside your apartment. You kicked your shoes off to the side, disregarding where they may have landed, keys flying onto the couch. With your lip caught between your teeth, which you were convinced was the only thing keeping you from crying out of pure frustration, you shuffled down the hall and straight into your bedroom.
As you stepped inside, Jaehyun’s head snapped up, eyes momentarily lighting up at the sight of you until he took note of your expression.
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” he cooed, arms pushing himself off the mattress. He hurried over to you, ready to pull you into his arms, but your outstretched hand halted him and kept him at a distance.
With the most docile tone you could muster, you muttered out a single phrase, “I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Jaehyun gave you a curt nod and watched, frozen in his spot, as you stormed around the room, grabbing the clothes you would wear after your shower. His eyes followed you, seeing as you drop them on the corner of the bed. In one motion, you yanked the tie out of your hair and left it on your nightstand, fingers scratching at your scalp to soothe the soreness of having it tied back for so many hours.
Your gaze landed on the desk in the corner of the room, where all your study guides, notes, and cheat sheets laid sprawled out, mocking you. Maybe if you had studied harder, if you had stayed up later. Unable to look at them any longer, you ran over, piling each stack one on top of the other and slamming the papers face down against the wooden surface. You shut the textbook with a boom, and picked up the now useless notes you had made, crumbling them up within your fists, hoping you’d find some relief by crushing them into nothing.
It wasn’t until Jaehyun came up behind you, placing his hand ever so carefully on your shoulder and uttering a small “Babe?” that you noticed the hot, angry tears pooling at your eyes.
“What?” You snapped, turning around, “I’m not in the fucking mood, Jae. I already told you I don’t wanna talk about it right now.”
His lips pursed, taking in your words. “Okay.” was all he managed to say.
You continued on your track without sparing him a second glance, grabbing your clothes and going straight into the bathroom.
You spun the shower handle to the highest degree and began to peel your clothes off your body, discarding them in the hamper. For the first few seconds that the hot water hit your skin, you felt relief, as if just for a moment, everything terrible that had happened this past week was not real, like it was not hurting you. You squeezed your eyes shut, basking in the blissful feeling, until your ears pick up the sound of your front door closing and your heart dropped.
Your hand flies to shut off the water, and you wait for a moment in silence, yearning, pleading with yourself that you had only imagined the click of the door.
Timidly, you call out, “Babe?”
There was no response.
“Jae?” Your second call is louder, although somehow weaker and tainted with guilt.
Jaehyun had stormed out, undoubtedly because of the way you spoke to him.
“Fuck,”
Finally, for the first time this week, your tears come spilling out as you switch the water back on. It muffled your sobs, but it no longer soothed the hurt in your chest.
You can’t remember how long you stood there, pouring out all your pent up emotions; you had no defined measure of time, but you were there long enough for the water to start going cold, leaving you no choice but to step out.
Your tears eventually stopped as you finished dressing yourself, and you wanted nothing more than to wrap yourself in your blanket and go to sleep.
Truthfully, you wanted to be in your boyfriend’s arms, to feel held and loved by him as you rambled on about all the things that had upset you, knowing he would not only listen to you, but hear you.
The bathroom door opened and shut behind you, and as you turn to your bed, just about ready to collapse into it, your feet skid to a stop.
Sat on the edge of the bed was Jaehyun, a bouquet of the prettiest pink tulips in one hand, an iPad in the other. Organized on the bed was an assortment of your favorite snacks and comfort foods. You take a look around, mouth agape, as you notice the white sheet hung up on the wall opposite of the bed.
A projector illuminated the opening credits of your favorite movie, the one you had been begging him to watch with you for forever, onto the smooth surface. The room light had been dimmed, replaced by fairy lights that glowed a light shade of purple. The pillows and blankets had been propped up into the shape of a fort. Your nightstand was full of your favorite skin care masks and creams, along with a new and neatly folded silk pajama set and white slippers that matched the exact outfit Jaehyun was wearing.
“Are you insane-“
“I know you said you didn’t want to talk about what happened and I’m sorry for pushing it earlier, but I couldn’t just let you be-“ he cut you off, but you were quick to interrupt him, kneeling in front of him where he sat on the bed.
“No, no, no. I’m sorry,” you shook your head, “I’m so sorry, I shouldn’t have snapped at you, it was just misdirected anger and I know that’s not an excuse,” You rambled, bringing a hand up to cup his face, “Baby, you didn’t have to do all this,”
“I don’t care about earlier. You’ve been so upset all week, I couldn’t stand to see you like that anymore.” he explained. Jaehyun sets aside the two gifts in his hands, pulling you onto his lap and wrapping his arms around you.
“I thought you stormed out,” you confessed, “I heard the door close and I thought-“
“I would never, love,” he pressed a soft kiss to your lips and gestured around, “I only went out to get all this,”
“I can see that,” you giggle, “You really didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.”
His fingers came up to brush your wet hair behind your ear and he kissed you again, moving his mouth smoothly against yours. The feeling of bliss returned, and you swore you could’ve melted right then and there in his arms. The comfort you felt in his hold was incomparable.
When you pulled away for a breath, you looked around once more, taking in the sight of the room and gifts.
“An iPad?” you raised a brow.
“I was tired of seeing you scribble in those notebooks every day.”
Your head tilts back in laughter as you hold him close, thanking him. He started going on about the matching PJ’s, urging you to put yours on so the two of you could match, and you sighed, just about ready to get off his lap and change. Admittedly, you were anticipating his reaction to the movie and the night ahead. Before you get up, however, you remind him of a simple fact.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
