So happy to see wednesday bts posts for season two !!! I knew they were starting production but seeing it and getting a cast list is amazing!

I will say though I am sad Naomi won’t be returning as Yoko this season. I think they fully fumbled her character, they pushed her to far to the sidelines. Not to mention Yoko and Divina who didn’t get enough attention. I mean god, fanfics did a better job at giving these characters everything. I mean at this point I feel like I personally know Yoko with how much I’ve read of her and written for her. She is Enids best friend and a little part of me is devastated Enids best friend will no longer be there.

On another note it’s really sad Naomi won’t get the opportunity to be in the second season. I’m sure there are reasons like she sad scheduling and yokos story not progressing which is STUPID because she’s a vampire so they really should write more for her. Like- you know what, no, I won’t rant. We’re fine.

I wish Naomi the best and I will continue to love Yoko and write her as Enids best friend. She will live on!!!

another lovely thing about heartstopper season 2 i wanna say: i love Love LOVE that not only did they have elle find a trans friend group but one of her friends be a trans girl with a deep voice to show that that's just as valid

you know elle’s lil foot pop during her kiss with tao? i’m having thoughts about how it relates to her character development.

season 2 elle is in a very different place than season 1 elle. season 1 elle was at a transitional point in her life - she’d come out fairly recently and only just moved from truham to higgs, where everyone was a stranger and she was the only trans girl. but in season 2 she seems to be a lot more secure in her identity and a lot more confident in general. she’s reconnected with her friends, gotten more comfortable flirting with tao, been accepted to lambert, and even made trans friends who she can be herself around!

and the foot pop is a stereotypically feminine thing, a symbol of feminine happiness in a romantic context. elle gets to have similar experiences as the other girls around her - such as wearing a dress to prom, getting flowers from her crush, and this! not that traditionally gendered things are the be-all and end-all of trans joy, of course, but it’s genuinely very meaningful to see elle enjoy them 🩷

While I'm so excited for Christopher Llyod and Steve Buscemi joining S2, I am pissed that there will be no Yoko or Xavier. The only reason Percy Hynes White was written off as Xavier is because he was framed by stupid girls and ex dates framed him for something he didn't do. Bullshit. I'm 90 percent sure Wednesday's stalker was Xavier's dad. Not sure why Naomi Ogawa isn't joining but this is really annoying as the core group in season 1 was great together. Thanks to stupid people so easily getting anyone cancelled these days and every studio believes it. Unreal.
