Binged all of One Piece Live action and it exceeded my expectations!!! Like I knew I was gonna enjoy this but THIS MUCH!!!!!
First of all the casting was spot on. This is my Luffy! This is my Zoro! This is my Nami! and so on.
The soundtrack!!!! Omg the soundtrack!!! When We Are played after the barrel scene! Binks sake for Shanks crew!! PERFECT
All the strawhats backstory captured the emotions very well. Expecially Nami's 'Help Me' scene. I cried multiple times throughout the season.
BUGGY! my king Buggy, I did not know what I expected but this was not it. They did a amazing job with Buggy. He kinda stole the spotlight (hehe) whenever he was present.
Garp and Koby addition was great. I am glad we got to see that. As a matter of fact the entire Syrup village story was much better here.
NAMI and KAYA bonding was not something I knew I needed until I got it. And omg KAYA and USOPP kiss!!!!!!! That was everything.
They made my girl Nami gayer and I love that for me ♡
I definitely need as many more season as it will take to adapt all of One Piece.
Loved it!

One Piece is proof that in the end there's nothing a creator can do to stop fans from completely misunderstanding it at a base level. Like imagine being handed the most punk, anti-establishment narrative of the century where the characters all come from wildly different often marginalized backgrounds and punch tyrants all day long and then watching the live action where the cast was chosen by the og creator and going "why are there black people in this :/"

feeling wretched and accursed in the club (apartment) again tonight about repliku and his devotion to naminé. like imagine knowing your existence is a sham and you’ve never been and never will be truly your own person and knowing that the love you feel for others was just pre-programmed into you but overcoming that existential crisis and the insanity it brings just enough to say i don’t care, that doesn’t matter, i can make peace with it, my feelings are real enough i am real enough. and i will choose to love and make sacrifices for you anyway. i will give up the small sad thing that is my half-existence and through that small but very real act i will save you and maybe that’s the one and only thing i have the agency to do in this world but it matters. it matters.
