#physalis or Peruvian coqueret is a plant that offers cute, perfectly edible fruits! I never knew that #chineselantern or Japanese Lantern (#hozuki in Japanese) are one and the same. There are many different varieties of Physalis, it’s a perennial shrub. It is green while young but turns golden yellow to orange. It is also called cape gooseberry, It has a tart flavour, I am not a big fan of it! But, love to photograph it. It is known to have lot of healthy benefits - it is rich in Iron, Relief of Arthritis pain etc.., They are quite expensive to buy. Have you tried these? Did you like them? How do you eat them?

Yesterday was #nationalteaday! Which I came to know today! 🙄 so, what the heck? I can still share something I wanted to share for a long time! The high light of my visit to Amsterdam this time was this #teapot. I am an ardent fan of tea! And this girl made this amazing tea, when I first met her it was so delicious I just fell in love with it! she gave me some tea leaves as gift!! These leaves are straight from the valleys of #Kashmir her Nani sends her every year a big batch of tea leaves. This time when I visited this beautiful ( yeah really beautiful) selfless soul she gave this teapot as a gift! She is such a wonderful person I can go on and on, but I could just say this I am blessed to have friends like her ! Today's simple cooking #lemonrice or Chitranna and my all time favourite! I have lots of stories related to this you will laugh! I can eat Lemon rice any time of the day 24/7! When I was in college I nearly ate 1 Kg of lemon Rice the whole day! The most craved food I love is Lemon Rice! My mouth starts salivating when I even think about it! 🍋 It's such a simple recipe So, what do you need? Lemon/Lime -1 Cooked Rice 2 cups Coriander leaves -1/4 cup chopped finely Fistful of Groundnuts/peanuts (optional) Sprig of curry leaves Chopped green chillies 2tbsp (depending on the spiciness you like) Seasoning: Heat 2 to 3 tbsp of oil, when its warm add a tsp mustard seeds once its splutters add green chillies sauté then add tbsp of Channa dal, Urad dal and peanuts when they change colour and peanuts starts crackling add tsp of turmeric powder and curry leaves sauté add cooked Rice, salt as required and chopped coriander leaves squeeze Lemon/ Lime juice. Mix well taste and adjust the seasonings everything should balance if it is too spicy add more juice of lemon/lime then you need to adjust salt! Add freshly grated coconut around 1/4 to 1/3 cup it just takes the rice to next level. 😀!! I am not a #coffeelover I am a #chai Person! but now and then I get these moods to drink coffee especially when I smell #filtercoffee the freshly brewed coffee makes me crave for it! When I used to live in #bangalore we had this store in vishweshpuram circle called Annapoorna coffee works, they used to make fresh coffee powder with coffee beans right in front of you and we could ask them to add #chicory at what percentage as well! You can find these kind of shops in Bangalore still! Brings back nostalgic memories. Dad wouldn't wait until the whole thing got filtered he used to sneak in for that freshly filtered coffee. Amma would always wait until first few ounces to drip down then put it back again to go through the strainer so the very fine coffee wouldn't settle down when it got filtered!
