i think it also helps if you feel confident in your grasp on shading and lighting ! ! ! its hard to describe it until im literally watching myself draw but you can see how even with just 5 colors you can achieve a lot ! ! the way sapnaps hair isnt really a dark red, but for this drawing it works because it contrasts with the color of his skin and same as his shirt and bandana. theyre both white but you probably wouldnt usually draw sapnap as white as you would his clothes, though with a limited palette accuracy doesnt matter so much as conveying that contrast of dark/light. light shirt dark hoodie ! ! and you can understand at least i hope what it conveys in the drawing x D ! ! again thanks for letting me ramble nonsense about my process and thoughts, but i really do hope this can help you out and motivate you to give limited palettes a try ! ! ! theres always a ton of beautiful ones you can find just abt anywhere artsy online and ofc you can always curate your own : ) good luck and all my love : DDD ! ! ! !
