Lucerys Velarion as Warlock prince of Harrenhal
“ There are rumors about the boy. That at night he whispers with the ghosts of the old cursed castle and feeds a pack of local dogs with pieces of fresh human flesh. That those who ever wanted to kill him were suddenly choking on their own blood like sea water. That he is a bastard not only of the lord of these lands, but also of another, more ancient house.
Aemond doesn't care about the rumors. But he cares about the boy, the mystery he keeps behind his smile and the dark look in his eyes.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ— I can help you get the crown.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ — And what do you want in return, bastard?
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ — Your eye. ”
or au, where Rhaenyra was forced to abandon her bastards, and Lucerys was raised by Alys Rivers who also taught him magic.

Alright guys here I am back from thinking about those titles.
Before we begin; wasn’t this gonna be more than just a trilogy, didn’t cc say something about it being four books?! ah
So the one repeated word here is “Last” which I assume emphasises that this is the last series in the Shadowhunter Universe and brings everything to a close.
Kind of sad that it’s ending because despite some controversial stuff (lol) this universe for many of us holds so mich joy and fun. We all grew up reading TMI, cried in TID, had so much fun in TDA and well TLH was nice; what I mean to say is this will be the end of a great era, and I don’t think another series can ever replace what TSC is to me and I’m sure for most of you too. (got a bit emotional writing this hehe)
Now for the titles:
1. The Last King of Faerie: This no doubt refers to the one and only Kit Herondale as its written just Faerie (and its not Ash or Kieran because they belong to only one court, Seelie and Unseelie, respectively).
My theory, kinda: So now we know this, I’m thinking maybe somehow, despite Jem and Tessa’s efforts to keep it low, rumours get out and people know about Kit’s heritage and his life somehow gets threatened. I’m thinking he may have to go in hiding and then Ty probably has his own stuff going on and has a problem, has to seek Kit’s help. I’m predicting they meet about two thirds of the way through the book? Let’s see what happens.
2. The Last Prince of Hell: We all know this, not anything new. I think in this book they actually find out about the big threat (i.e. Lucifer) and band together with Dru and Ash maybe Jaime too.
3. The Last Shadowhunter: Now this is the one everyone’s freaking out about. Of course we know that the shadowhunters are to come to an end. The question is why tho. Maybe after defeating Lucifer they’ll close the doors/portal whatever (maybe not exactly defeating him but making some kinda deal w him?idk) and no demons means no need for nephilim! It’ll be a bittersweet moment for them. It’ll impact everyone differently; example for people like Jace and Emma it’ll be heartbreaking because they’re warriors and for others it’ll be beneficial like no more prejudices for people who want to do something else than just fight, like Matthew, Henry, Christopher and Ty.
I’m assuming the downworld stays the same though there are no more demons so I don’t think there’ll be more new warlocks, but werewolves and vampires can be made. I also think the doorways to Faerie will be closed. So yeah.
There’s the end. And yes Kit and Ty will be endgame and live happily ever after i just asked Cassie herself!!!

when you dislike the MC of a good series AKA Who Will Die in The Wicked Powers
damn, being petty enough to flip off the MC x canon ship in my (favorite) fandom is really kicking me in the ass--
yeah, basically I can't touch half the TSC stuff on Tumblr bc I'm so anti-Clace...(meanwhile I love literally every other character that's been in every Shadowhunter series)...& they're probably gonna have a wedding + kids in the next books (assuming Jace isn't killed)...
The Wicked Powers is most definitely gonna have the Princes of Hell as the main villains. I feel like Luke, Gwyn, or Izzy will die, since the younger Shadowhunters are supposed to be central & well...look at the couples who will be alive/extant by TWP:
SPOILERS FOR ALL SHADOWHUNTER BOOKS!!
Jace & Clary
Magnus & Alec
Simon & Izzy
Julian & Emma
Kit & Ty
Kieran/Cristina/Mark
Dru & Ash (& maybe Jaime)
Diana & Gwyn
Luke & Jocelyn
Tessa & Jem
(forgive me if I'm missing anyone!)
Jace already died once. Clary had dreams about dying, but those were shown to be visions of Thule. Based on canon events, I think they're Clare's favorite ship. SAFE.
Magnus almost gave himself to Asmodeus in CoHF. Alec almost-ish died saving Magnus in The Eldest Curses. Also, Alec almost died thanks to that poison demon in TMI (the one Magnus saved him from). Malec might end up forced to rule some region of Hell (reason unknown but I think it'll have to do with them beating/destroying Asmodeus). I feel like past events foreshadow Magnus dealing with the unfortunate sides of being a warlock. But he won't die--the "killing your gays" trope might actually save he & Alec.
Simon nearly died when the vampires attacked him (when he was a mundane), then when Valentine bled him pre-Daylighter (then Jace's blood saved him). He "sacrificed" himself to Asmodeus CoHF, in the form of his vampire immortality + memories (which he basically got back later on). Izzy...she's been through a lot psychologically & about as much as I think most Shadowhunters would physically. She lost Max & her dad. But she's a badass (I'm not faulting her for it, either). So I don't think she's safe.
Julian & Emma both lost their parents in horrible ways. Their whole series was about the parabatai curse (which, to me, was conveniently not mentioned in chronologically earlier series...probably because it wasn't invented til TDA was written, lol). They're kinda written to be the leaders of Livvy's Watch. SAFE.
Kit has his whole faerie power reveal shit to explore & he + Ty are some of the major characters in TWP. I'm pretty sure they'll spend the series healing their relationship. SAFE.
Kieran/Cristina/Mark will survive because 1) Kieran as the Unseelie King is an important Shadowhunter ally, 2) they're poly rep in YA, which is rare, and 3) killing one of them off would leave the others to mourn in such a weird way. SAFE.
I love Dru Blackthorn. She's one of the main of TWP, so I think she'll survive, plus tbh I don't think any more Blackthorns will be killed. Ash will probably end up as the Seelie King or as Clace's adopted son, to "redeem" Sebastian in a narrative sense. Jaime's sort of a main for TWP as one of Dru's love interests. SAFE.
Diana & Gwyn aren't main characters (though I like their romance). Diana also is the ONLY transgender person in all the books (unless I missed something). I don't think she'll be killed off. Gwyn might be just because I see the Wild Hunt as an important group in TWP & he might die protecting Diana (narratively, this shows strengthened faerie-Shadowhunter relations, despite the Wild Hunt being unaffiliated with either Court).
Luke & Jocelyn deserve to be endgame, but I could see Luke being killed off as one of those "MC's loved one is killed so the MC goes & avenges them" type of things. I love Luke & Jocelyn as characters, though.
Tessa & Jem deserve to be endgame, arguably, more than any couple. They were the mains in their series, then Jem survived but was sort-of-"lost" when he became a Silent Brother. Then he miraculously became a (mortal) Shadowhunter again when he was burned by heavenly fire, he just left the Clave behind to hang with Tessa (good choice!). Tessa has a baby & she's gonna suffer enough when she outlives Jem. SAFE?

Art by the wonderfully gifted @high-warlock-of-brooklyn
Read the first Chapter of my contribution to the TSC What If Bang 2022 on A03!
The prompt I was given was the following: What if Kit claimed his throne as a teenager and met Ty years later, when he’s the King of Faerie and Ty is a Centurion?
Sneak Peek:
There was chaos in King Arawn’s throne room. The Seelie Queen had barged in just as prince Ash Morgenstern had been ordered to execute the Unseelie sovereign’s youngest son, Kieran Kingson. Mostly because, unlike his father, he was loved by their people.
Why? the blond boy had asked, his lips trembling and his grip on the heavy sword as faltering as his resolve.
Whatever little choice he had in the matter was taken from him when a moment later, Annabelle Blackthorn, Shadowhunter witch, dragged him through an interdimensional Portal, dooming him to a life in a lifeless world. Thule.
The Seelie Queen’s cry as her second child was taken from her had pierced the room. The Unseelie King, shaking with rage, had ordered his Riders and guards to kill her.
And just as everyone in the room believed the most unexpected had occurred, King Arawn’s command died in his throat, replaced by gurgling noises. Blood was streaming from a gruesome gash slashed across his neck. The gathered faeries and Shadowhunters stood in horror as his head simply fell off his body to roll down the few stairs and halt in front of the crowd. The worst half exposed.
Behind the throne, a young boy - he looked no more than fifteen - was standing with a blood drenched dagger in his hand and he was wiping the weapon against his blue jeans. His mouth was set, his expression resolved, as if he had been working up the nerve to be where he was. To do what he had just done.
Who was the Kingslayer? He was a puzzle to look at. The sharp facial features of the Fair Folk, although he didn’t have pointy ears. The bearing and muscular figure of a Shadowhunter although he did not bear any Runes. Most peculiarly, he was dressed like a mundane in a plain black T-shirt with holes in it and a pair of used sneakers under his faded jeans. It was clear though that he was much, much more. It wasn’t only that, despite his attire, he looked more kingly than everyone else in the room, sovereigns included. It was in the way his authority appeared undisputable, his rule, ineluctable. In the way he exuded power.
His gaze swept the room before resting on the Queen, and locked. Her own eyes - the same blue as his - widened as she raised a trembling hand to her mouth. Auraline, she whispered in awe, but in the eerie silence, the single word carried across the room. Murmurs broke among the fair ones who now all wore masks of shock. The First Heir. Auraline’s child looks just like her. The First Heir’s alive. The Unifier. The Peace bringer. The news seemed to elicit equal terror and joy among the Seelie and Unseelie subjects.
The boy’s expression was unreadable as he moved to sit on the now deserted throne, his bare elbows gracefully positioned on the armrests. He extended one leg and tilted his head to rest a cheek on his left fist.
“The King is dead…” He proclaimed in a cool voice.
As one, the fey assembled in the stone room dropped to their knees. The boy’s lips curled into a crooked smile.
“Long live the King,” he concluded.

since yall need to see it
i have a coroika fantasy/dnd au (it has some dnd elements but its not directly a dnd au) so have this
Goggles: Chaotic neutral human rouge
Noble background
thief
he a stealy boi
but he’s got a heart of gold
back when he was a noble he saw that there was a lot of people that needed help that his family didn’t even think about helping
so goggles took to stealing from his family and other’s riches and giving them to the poor.
As a result he was disowned and cast out from his family and earned the name “Blue Bandit” due to his thieving habits and his blue hair
Rider: Neutral good human barbarian
Soldier background
Basically Rider was born into a magic-using family but was known as the family disappointment by his parents and extended family since he had none of his own (his siblings were chill about it)
So he thought that he could make them proud by joining the military and becoming a hero of his village
And he did but his parent’s still hated him simply because he had no magic
So, Rider left his village to find something else to do
Army: True Neutral half-elf warlock
Noble background
Patron: Actually one I came up with named Phyria. She’s a fiend patron but she give extra fire spells
anyways, Army comes from a line of kings, each worshipping Phyria, known as the Blaze Kings.
Army’s father was the first to act as a Tyrant. He wanted to rule the world and groomed Army to do the same.
Basically, Army was manipulated to believe that he was the only one who was “pure”. Everyone else were filthy wrongdoers.
When Army’s dad died, it wasn’t made public, and Army ruled as The Blaze King with people still believing his father was the ruler
He got news of a rebellion (basically the gang having decided to go and stop him) and decided to go down and masquerade as...well, himself kind of.
As he traveled with them he began to question all he was taught to believe.
So basically the gang lead him through an unintentional redemption arc.
Aloha: Chaotic good human bard
Entertainer background
of course aloha’s a bard
anyways, his parents died when he was 5 and he was taken in by his uncle, who ran a tavern.
As he grew up he learned how to make food, serve drinks, and became pretty well-liked in the town
But what Aloha really liked was the traveling bards that came and went at the tavern. He’d learn their songs by ear and sing along.
It came to the point where he was gifted a lute by one of them and his uncle sent him off to learn how to be a proper bard
And when Aloha came back ten years later his town had been burned down. Literally no one was left, and everything was just in ashes
Other than this one knife that had the tavern’s symbol on it.
So, Aloha took it with him in his travels.
He still has it and he still uses the lute given to him by the bard so long ago.
Mask: Chaotic neutral undead drow necromancer
hermit background
“Dude you made him an accidental lich” -My DM friend when I was explaining my idea to them
Basically Mask always had a close connection to the dead
He’d be mourning people he didn’t even know, he would talk to seemingly the void whenever at a grave, and he was always pretty close to death himself, being a pretty sickly person
So when he became an adult he hid himself in a cave, practicing his craft of necromancy
He brought back a sick cat he named Ash who decided to follow him around
Anyways as for the undead part
One day Mask got a nasty infection and he went to the market to get a cure
and he was scammed, getting a nasty poison instead
so Mask drank it and died, but somehow he came back as an undead himself
he decided “fuck it” and went off adventuring along with Ash
Skull: Lawful good Drow-Wood elf ranger
Urchin background
So basically Skull was born to two moms; a drow huntress and a wood elf archer.
He tends to look more like a drow though
anyways, he learned how to fight, hunt, gather, and shoot a bow and arrow thanks to his moms
he was also raised in a really pretty forest
his parents do be living the cottagecore dream...
anyways one day skull came back home after hunting (he had caught a raven all by himself and wanted to show his moms) when he found-suprise suprise-that his house had burnt down
his moms were alright and sent him to live in the city with his grandparents, while they go on a mission to find out who did this
problem is his grandparents hadn’t seen him before and don’t really like drow
so they kicked him-a 12 year old in elf years btw-on the streets
he taught himself to survive in the city-he didn’t know the way back to the forest-and after a few years of begging on the streets, and occasionally stealing, he finally had enough for a bow, quiver, and arrows. And he knew he could sustain himself by hunting for his own food and selling what he didn’t need
so he did just that
he commissioned a bow, arrows, and quiver and in the process met aviators- a wood elf who really loved crafting of any kind-who took on the job and made him a beautiful bow
as thanks, even though he payed, skull always made sure to give avi and his family extra food he collects.
and as time went on he and avi fell in love because aviskull supremacy
But later avi was relocated to a different city, so Skull and him made a promise to get married when they next saw each other
since then, skull joined the gang, took down a tyrant, and is now just searching for avi along the gang’s adventures
Prince: Lawful good High elf cleric
Acolyte background
basically-this is also emp’s backstory too-prince, emp, and prince’s twin regent are royals of a magic-based kingdom
but you see regent didn’t really like non magics, and thought they should be slaves under his rule
Prince and Emperor didn’t like that, so Emperor challenged Regent to a duel
you see, in the case of multiple heirs to the throne, the strongest one would ascend to become the ruler.
it would be prince, seeing as in addition to being a healer, his patron had given him a spellbook, filled with plenty of dark and powerful spells
but clerics and priests are forbidden to take on positions of political power.
so regent and emperor fought in battle and regent won, becoming king and his first act was exiling prince and emperor on the spot, not even letting them take the things in their rooms.
regent thought that, since prince had left his spellbook in his room, that he could now have access to the power his twin had, but prince was clever
when he had received the book, he placed a curse on it so only he may use it without repercussions. Anyone who even so much touched it would get a nasty curse only Prince or his patron can lift
anyways so now regent’s paranoid that prince would somehow return, take the spellbook, and kill regent
also prince has a familiar with him; his kitten, kia.
Emperor: Lawful neutral High Elf Sorceror
Noble background
basically same backstory as prince tbh not much to say
Gloves: Chaotic Good halfling Druid
Outlander background
Basically, in the village they lived in, pink eyes are considered bad luck. so when gloves opened their eyes to show pink, their parents left them to die in the woods
jokes on them
Gloves was found and literally raised by wolves until they were 10 in halfling years
Then they got found by two human hunters and was taken in
Gloves just. ran away from them. They hated being constrained and punished for even mentioning that they missed the pack
They never found the pack again, but after years in the woods, they learned how to transform into a wolf themselves.
Nothing too big after that, just the bab joins the group and now the gang has a wolf enby!!!
And i dont have anything for Vintage...suggestions are welcome!!!!

From the Ashes
Summary: It wasn't supposed to end like this. Merlin was supposed to protect Arthur until he united all of Albion, not be burned at the stake by his sadistic father. He was supposed to serve him until the day both men died. How did it end up like this?
___________________________________________
The twisted look on his father’s face just made his stomach swoop.
Arthur was no stranger to executions of magic users. They were almost routine now, and he couldn’t remember a time more than two months passed in between a pyre being lit. As he grew older he felt more numb watching the events than anything else, even if before and after his heart clenched in sorrow.
This time, however, numbness refused to take him. How could it when Merlin was being led to the stake?
The goofy moronic servant had gotten close to Arthur over the last four years, always standing by him, always lending an ear when he needed it, never afraid to offer up a quip or insult when the royal needed to be brought back to reality. It wasn’t always a welcomed truth but Arthur found he grew fond of the unhesitant words of rebuttal and clumsy actions of the other man.
He may not always be the nicest to Merlin, berating him and throwing things at him when he’s mad but he never wanted him dead. Let alone burned.
But Merlin had magic, it was undeniable the way his eyes had lit up a blazing soul-piercing gold as the assassin was pulled from the rafters after nearly taking Arthur’s head off.
Anyone with eyes could see that he had only been protecting his prince, but as the gold faded Arthur could see his servant pale and begin to shake as he realized what he had just done, trying to sputter out apologies even as Uther yelled for the guards to seize Merlin.
There was no exception to the ban on Magic after all, not even for saving the crowned prince.
He was let frozen as Merlin begged not to be taken, vows that he only ever used his magic to help Camelot, to help Arthur, how he had been born with the spark, using magic before he could even speak, how he had no choice in the art, begging for Arthur to understand, to not hate him.
He struggled to remain in the throne room, to beg at Arthur’s feet, but he didn’t attempt to escape from the guards hold, didn’t attempt to flee.
He didn’t want to be saved, Arthur realized later, as he threw up near the stables. The only thing Merlin had wanted was for Arthur not to hate him.
Arthur couldn’t even give him that much as the guards caught him trying to sneak down to the cells that night. His father had been worried he had been enchanted, and now that Arthur had done what his father would only expect from an enchanted prince. He had been confined to his rooms until the execution.
He heard from a haunted-looking Leon who was ordered to stand guard on the Prince that Gwaine had been arrested for attempting to break Merlin out of the cells along with Lancelot. Eylan and Percival visited Arthur, uncertainty weaving through their words and movements.
Magic was hated by them all for its corrupting quality, they had seen how Morgona had been twisted so easily, but Merlin was… Merlin. He was The Round Table’s younger brother, a kind and loving friend to all. They protected him with a ferocity that only was matched in the intensity that they teased him with. He, in turn, treated the knights as equals, caring for them passed what was appropriate for a servant to do, but he just rolled his eyes at them with a sarcastic “Of course, sir knight,” before returning to his normal behavior.
But they had seen the good in Magic, hadn’t they? The light that had guided Arthur when Merlin was poisoned, Merlin’s friend Will saving them all from the invaders, and recently Dragoon the Great had healed Uther, pulling him back from the brink of death, though he had almost killed him before finding the charm placed on him that changed healing energy into harm. Arthur had been relieved each time, even when Uther had screamed for the guards the moment he opened his eyes.
Gaius also visited, grief and sorrow making the old physician look frail. Arthur accepted his gruff words about not knowing his ward had been practicing magic under his nose, even though he knew from the way his eyes teared up and his hands shook that he was lying. He was already losing his best friend, he wasn’t risking losing Gaius as well.
Now here he stood on the balcony overlooking the courtyard next to his father, he wished he had tried harder to get to Merlin. He was the only member of the Round Table here, the only one to see the hollow look on Merlin’s face. He was moving stiffly as if a puppet being pulled along against its will. Even from where he stood Arthur could see the dried tear tracks on his face and the red around his eyes.
He felt like he couldn’t breathe as his father’s speech bounced around the silent crowd, not hearing a word of it as the fire was lit. He wanted to yell at Merlin to fight, to use his magic to break free and run, but his tongue was stuck to the roof of his mouth. His father had warned him harshly as he pulled him to the balcony that if he tried calling out to Merlin, to encourage him to escape, that Uther would have the man tortured before being burned. Arthur refused to cause his friend any more pain.
Merlin didn’t move as the fire licked higher,  didn’t even cough as the smoke overtook his form. Arthur could tell that he was burning, his best friend was burning, but he was as lifeless as a doll, but Arthur knew he wasn’t dead yet. It took at least an hour before the fire would die down and Uther would allow for the guards to put out the fire, certain the sorcerer was dead. At thirty minutes the cries were usually the loudest, but still nothing from Merlin.
There was sudden movement as they neared the hour mark, and through the haze, Arthur had let himself fall into he saw his father’s eyes narrow.
A crack sounded from the pyre and the crowd gasped as lightning struck the center of the fire. The intensity of the blast jarred Arthur to the very bone as the castle shook around him, knocking him to his knees. By the time he scrambled to his feet the fire had been extinguished, faster than should be possible by ordinary means.
In the center of the smoldering remains was Merlin, clothes singed badly and ash covering his skin but he was there and seemed unharmed, and he didn't quite fight back relieved laughter. Suddenly Merlin’s face snaps up to him and his father, revealing the blazing golden eyes that were burned into his memory. The sorcerer's face was unnaturally blank as Uther barked to the guards to seize him.
They didn’t get the option as Merlin lifted into the air without a word, floating elegantly to land on the railing of the balcony, looming over the Pendragons with an unrivaled authority Arthur never would have paired with Merlin but seemed so natural.
“What sort of trick is this, Sorcerer?” Uther barked, fury rolling off of him in waves.
“Oh Uther,” Merlin sighed, words echoing unnaturally through the courtyard, “You truly don’t see how ignorant you’ve become of Magic, and how hypocritical.”
“Merlin was no Sorcerer,” Merlin told them, “He was a Warlock. you know the difference, Uther, but for your son’s benefit, I will explain. Warlocks are blessed with their gifts from birth and they develop somewhere between their early teens and twenty years old as Morgana did, but Merlin was special, he’s been using magic since the moment he drew his first breath. No, that it mattered, you had him burned for something he couldn’t control any more then you could decide what color your hair is. ”
Arthur felt his heart squeeze, “Why are you referring to yourself like that Merlin?”
The golden gaze turned to him, and almost seemed to soften as it spoke the words that sent ice through his veins, “I’m sorry Arthur, but Merlin is dead.”
Uther raised a brow, “Who are you then?”
“I am a being of legend,” Mer-The thing wearing Merlin’s skin explained, “Magic coursed through Merlin since the moment he was conceived, been at his disposal since he drew his first breath, using magic for him was instinctual as breathing and blinking is for you. His destiny laid out a path that magic had carved for him, he was to be the most powerful magic user that ever was. I was his magic, the connection he shared with the Old Religion that would allow him to protect the Once and Future King. I was meant to just be an aspect of him, but now that he’s gone Magic refuses to let the Once and Future King remain unprotected before his destiny can be fulfilled. So I have been awoken, and will remain at Arthur’s side until the day comes that he no longer needs a protector, or until Magic can convince Merlin to return from Avalon.”
“I’ll have you put to death if you get near my son,”
The being let out an ungodly laugh that sent fear down the spines of those gathered.
“Poor Poor Uther,” It cried, edging on pity, “You never learned your lesson. You can kill as many magic users as you wish, you can hunt them for sport, but you can’t rid the world of Magic, and you can’t avenge your wife because it’s not Magic’s fault that you did not heed the warnings.”
Arthur sucked in a startled breath, eyes flying to his father, “Morgause spoke the truth. You used magic so that I could be born, even though you were warned that someone must die.”
“Yes,” The being confirmed, “Your father ignored the warnings about how balance must be kept, he believed that the one that died would be a peasant or knight, someone with whose life he saw as forfeit compared to a prince’s. Only when it was Ygraine did he realize the true nature of what he asked, and chose to blame Magic and Nimih instead of his own choices. The only thing the vision lied to you about is that your Mother would never have blamed Uther for her death, nor would she have wanted for you to slay him in vengeance.”
“Why lie?” Arthur whispered, fists clenching, “Why not tell me the truth?”
“Because Merlin did not want to see you hurt in such a way,” The being explained, “He cared for you enough that he would allow your hatred of magic to remain so that you would not slay your own father in cold blood. It’s why Merlin broke the enchantment between your father and the troll, why he had Excalibur made, why he took the form of Dragoon and healed your father. It is also the reason I will not lay him to rest myself, even should you request it. Even so, he can not harm nor kill me.”
“Don’t be so cocky,” Uther seethed.
“Against you, Uther?” The being said, face blank as a slate, but full of promises, “It’s not being cocky, it’s stating fact.”
The being stepped down to the balcony and walked through the door behind them, not even flinching as Uther pulled his sword and tried to stab it through the being. The sword didn’t even make it close to it as a golden shield appeared and shattered the steel blade like it was an icicle.
Arthur took off after ignoring the calls from his father. He caught up to it after it had run into Percival outside Arthur’s chambers. The bear of a man was trembling, white as a sheet, staring at the golden-eyed being with fear that seemed more befitting a young maiden. Arthur would have found it comical if it had been any other circumstance, but right now he just felt empathy.
“Merlin…” The man spoke, “You’ve…”
“Merlin is dead,” Arthur spoke up before the being could, “This isn’t Merlin.”
The knight stared at him as if he had grown three heads, “But sire, it’s clearly-”
“Gather the Table, Sir Percival,” Arthur ordered, voice low and harsh, “I- We’ll explain once we have everyone. Break Lancelot and Gwaine out of jail if you have to, just get everyone here as soon as you can.”
The knight sprinted off with speed uncharacteristic of the large knight.
“What should I call you?” Arthur asked once the door shut behind him, “If you’re not Merlin if you’re simply his magic or whatever else you are…”
The being gazed at him in confusion, his eternal golden eyes, “I suppose Emrys is the best name for me. It was the name the druids created for the protector of the Once and Future King.”
“Alright, Emrys then. You’ll need to explain more about that Once and Future King business once the others arrive.”
“Of course, Sire.”
Arthur felt odd stripping from his court clothing with the be- Emrys simply stood like a statue by the bed, seeming to not even breathe, but he had a feeling that this was going to be a long talk.
The door crashed open unexpectedly before Arthur could finish changing, a sober and pissed off looking Gwaine, followed closely by the other knights, Percival hanging back, eyes vacant with fear. Gwen and Gaius were hanging near the back, tear streaks still evident on their faces.
Gwaine let out a sob as he saw Emrys standing there, crossing the room instantly to pull the being into a tight hug, “Thank the gods! How did you manage to escape?”
“I am not Merlin,”
Gwaine pulled back and stared at the being in confusion, “What do you-”
“Gwaine,” Arthur said as he pulled on his shirt, “We all need to sit down while Emrys and I explain… explain what happened at Merlin’s execution.”
Leon let out a slight gasp looking to the being for the first time since he entered the room, and Gauis looked like he might be sick, but no one could muster up a word as they tensely circled the room.
Arthur turned to the still statue-like Emrys, “Tell them everything you told my father and I at the execution site.”
The being didn’t move even as Gwaine pulled back uncertainty, didn’t even seem to acknowledge the others in the room as they slowly formed a circle around the room, but after being prompted he quickly started to recount the events of the morning. Arthur wasn’t sure listening to the emotionless factual retelling was better or worse than the real events. Everything was so... detached from Emrys as if the being could care less about Merlin's death outside of what it meant for it existing. A completely blank expression and a dull monotone didn't fit Merlin's face and voice, least of all when telling them about how the licking flames and suffocating smoke had driven the very essence of the man they all called a friend from his body, leaving a corpse behind before magic decided to create its own consciousness to stand-in.
“So Emrys,” Gwaine pushed, anger boiling just below the surface, “Why don’t you tell us everything Merlin did for Camelot? All the things that he did for Arthur that the princess couldn’t even be bothered to save him for?”
“Oh really?” Arthur snapped, “You want to say I did nothing? I argued and fought with my father but he was convinced the only reason I would still care for a magic user is that he enchanted me and reassured me that once Arthur was dead I would see reason. Then I couldn’t even speak up at the execution because my father warned me that if I even spoke a single word before the hour was up that he would burn all of Merlin’s friends. After all, clearly, one of them was also a magic-user and keeping the enchantment up! I was already losing my best friend, I didn’t want to lose any of you as well!”
“Stop this now,” Gauis cried, looking worn and tired, “None of this fighting is going to bring back Merlin, we’ve all failed him!”
The knights fell silent, frustration and sorrow oozing from all as they gazed around the room at each other, daring someone to speak.
“Odd,” Emrys said after a long moment, head cocking slightly to the side, the first real movement he made since entering the room.
“What?” Arthur snapped, glaring at the golden eyes that should be blue. Emrys simply looked between the knights before gazing back at Arthur.
“You really do care for him," Emrys stated with the barest hint of wonderment in his voice that caused Arthur's heart to wither, "even though Merlin left this plane believing that you despised him. Even Magic didn’t account for all of the knights siding with Merlin when Uther was still alive. Gaius, Lancelot, and Gwen were always going to stand by him but the rest of you...You all are very odd.”

Dedue/That Duscur NPC you mentioned from the non-AM route he survives, Blue from Pokemon
You mean the ginger warlock? He’s not from Duscur, but he just happens to have been the only person in the monastery keeping tabs on what became of Dedue after the battle in Enbarr.
when I started shipping it if I did:
When I saw GW’s line of dialogue in VW, he stands out as the only person there to comment at all on Dedue (unless you recruit Ashe, which I hadn’t in my first VW run) and the line delivery sounds so concerned.
my thoughts:
As implied by the above, this “ship” is somewhat passed over by Dedue/Ashe in the event that you recruit the latter (twice, because he defects) to VW or SS in that Ashe is an actual named character who also worries about Dedue and hopes to see him again. Nevertheless, it’s a sweet thought that not all these memorable NPCs are as heterosexual as Gatekeeper. Note also that this observation predates the introduction of Abysskeeper.
What makes me happy about them:
That Dedue has a choice of companionship in his otherwise solitary mourning for his dead prince, which is more than Finn over in Jugdral gets in the long term.
What makes me sad about them:
SS floats the possibility that Dimitri also survived Gronder but thinks that Dedue is dead, so if my headcanon that they find each other again in Duscur comes to pass GW is just out of luck. Dimitri’s loving gay harem is something that could realistically come out of AM where he’s king of the known world and can do whatever he pleases in his very large bed. SS Dimidue, such as it is, will be even more about coping with trauma and less about raunchy sex than this pairing already was.
things done in fanfic that annoys me:
things I look for in fanfic:
Doesn’t exist, most likely never will.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Dedue is obvious. GW could always make a heartfelt plea for Abysskeeper’s affections as in VW (and SS I think?) he’s resolved to marry Mr. Backup’s sister otherwise.
My happily ever after for them:
A long, slow healing process for Dedue where he whiles away his days on a farm in Duscur and slowly learns to love again thanks to GW’s quiet devotion and wicked tongue (he is a warlock).
who is the big spoon/little spoon:
I’m not sure Dedue is physically capable of being a little spoon, especially not for a skinny caster guy.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity:
Dedue tends his garden (shirtless, like Dimitri liked), then comes in and they make dinner together while he tries to guess GW’s name.
Now Blue.
How I feel about this character:
Annoying in the Gen 1 games although I suppose that was intentional, didn’t really grow on me until Gen 7 where he’s still a cocky asshole but is a bit more likeable about it. Note that I haven’t watched the anime or read any of the mangas so I going strictly off the games here.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Red, but not too seriously and not until the Alola games. I don’t really do shipping in Pokémon.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
...Is there anybody?
My unpopular opinion about this character:
His appearance in the Let’s Go games is kind of weird since it’s a partial retcon thanks to the Pokédex. Yeah, I know Red and Green are both in the game too.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
Confirmation about the dead Raticate theory maybe? That would have been cool, since that’s what the Pokémon Tower is all about and it’s not like the games talk about Pokémon dying very often at all.
my OTP:
Red, by virtue of there being no one else to ship him with that I can think of.
my cross over ship:
I almost never do crossover ships, and certainly not for someone from Pokémon.
a headcanon fact:
Not really a headcanon, but since I prefer Squirtle I usually see him with Bulbasaur as his starter. Eevee (from Yellow) is just odd now that the Let’s Go games exist.

Tales of the Brazen Sword
Prompt: Classic mode, Blue Lion route where Felix died during the war, and Dimitri raises his children on stories of Felix’s conquests before admitting that he knew him first hand.
Note: Somewhat angst… but with a surprising and happy ending
Ever since Lambert was young, he had heard stories of Felix: The Brazen Sword. Felix was, as his father claimed, a brilliant swordsman with brash tendencies who preferred action over “idle chatter.” In fact, he was the man that Lambert’s middle namesake had been taken from. The man was swift on the battlefield and could cut down dozens of enemy troops within mere minutes-- something he knew not many men could do. He was, as the King described him, a flurry of different shades of blue and glinting silver, when in combat. His single goal in life was to defeat any foe who dared to stand before him and to be the best swordsman in all of Fodlan.
But, despite his obvious skill in battle and his stoic nature, Felix was also a loyal friend. Despite all the trouble his prince had caused him, Felix had remained loyal to the royal’s cause-- never straying from the path that his highness had paved. He wore a mask of cold indifference and insisted on doing nothing but honing his skills with the blade-- Dimitri swore. Though, the naive prince would later find out that the hardened swordsman only did so in an effort to protect his people and his highness from any harm. And that the prince would soon come to realize his reasonings when it was far too late-- for it was these reasons that caused the vigilant swordsman’s fall.
One night, after a long and taxing day, Dimitri coaxed his thirteen year old son to bed with promises of a bedtime story.
“Tonight Lambert, I will tell you of Felix’s final conquest. In fact I think you are quite familiar with the tale- however, I have never told you my account of it.” The king told his son softly, a fond smile on his face as he stroked the childs blonde hair. “It was a hectic afternoon, the sun was beating down among the troops and everyone was tired from storming the streets of Enbarr.” Lambert gasped-- he did indeed recognize the tale. “We could taste victory on the tip of our tongue-- morale was high and we realized the long and bloody war was coming to a close,” he licked his chapped lips before continuing. “I hadn’t lost anyone incredibly dear to me-- not since the former Lord Fraldarius’s death; so I was confident that we would all make it through.” The man laughed bitterly, tears welling up within his sole eye, he gripped Lambert’s hand tightly. “How foolish I was.” Forgetting his status, the young prince ripped off his covers and clambered onto his father’s lap, wiping the tears from his eyes.
“It’s alright father, you needn’t tell me this story-- I do not wish to see you cry.” Lambert consoled.
“No, no; I will tell you this tale son, you deserve to hear it.” Dimitri took in a deep, rattling breath. “As I was saying, Byleth-- that is the Archbishop-- had ordered Felix and I, (Lambert gasped at the revelation), to lead the charge.” Dimitri took a moment to blink away his tears. “It was absolute chaos, your Uncle Sylvain and Uncle Ashe were supposed to be watching our backs. But we had underestimated the number of reinforcements the Emperor had waiting. The plan had failed-- it became a free for all. Felix… oh Felix.”
“Father… it’s alright, I think Mr. Felix would be glad to hear you speaking of him in such a way.” This statement did nothing to console the grieving king, instead it made him weep more.
“If it had gone as planned… you would be addressing Felix as ‘Uncle’ not Mr.” he confessed, “but it all went awry.” After a few more moments of sniffled filled silence, the story continued.
“I’ve always been particularly vulnerable to mages-- barely fast enough to dodge their most basic spells, let alone their more advanced ones. But Felix had a much leaner figure than me and thus had an easier time avoiding them.” Dimitri explained, once again taking in a slow, shuddering breath.
“We were both doing so well, most of the mages had been defeated, though it proved to be incredibly taxing on our bodies. Our foes were incredibly quick on their feet-- practically dodging our every swing, we had to work thrice as hard as usual to just defeat one of them.” His father gulped as he prepared to retell his childhood friends death. “Even… even Felix, who worked five times as hard as anyone in the army- even harder than me, had been exhausted. And he could tell I was too.  So… so when the third wave of reinforcements came he… he told me to jump on Ashe’s wyvern. He told me to end the terrible, pointless war. He said that he could handle the next wave of soldiers-- that Sylvain would come to aid him if he needed it.”
A river of tears spilled from his father’s eye and Lambert couldn’t do anything but watch and offer his silent comfort.
“I could see it all from the wyvern’s back. Felix fighting tiredly, desperately; pouring his heart and soul into each skillful swing, the blade a silver blur as he slashed furiously. His pale skin was flushed red and he was stained with blood-- from both himself and from the Imperial soldiers. And I- I watched as this warlock-- I can remember her expression vividly, she had this insane, blood thirsty look in her eye as she cast her darkest spell. She summoned hundreds of large, violet spikes, ones that I’ve only ever seen dark mages use, and in an instant she had impaled Felix with them. Oh Seiros-- I can still hear his screams.”
Lambert was horrified at his father’s gruesome description of Felix’s death-- though he could not deny his absurd fascination at the topic.
“I-I jumped from the wyverns back and rushed to him-- it must have taken half a minute or so, but he was still alive. I slaughtered the bitch-- ahem, pardon me-- the witch who had dared harm him and knelt beside him. He had so many puncture wounds-- even Mercedes would not have been able to heal him. I could do nothing but beg him for forgiveness-- for not mending our relationship when I had the chance… do you know what he told me?”
The thirteen year old heir lifted his head, silently inquiring what it was that Felix had said.
“It’s pathetic really,” he had said, “that only now you apologize for all your wrongdoings.” Brushing a tear from his eye, Dimitri continued with his recount. “But… I forgave you a long time ago so it’s pointless really. Since I won’t get the chance to say it again… I’m sorry Dimitri. It’s a shame that my old man had to die, that the Fraldarius line can’t protect the royal family anymore. So take our relic… so at least… even after death we can serve you.”
“What! He gave you House Fraldarius’s hero’s relic?” The king chuckled and nodded. “Wait… so what is their relic anyway? Oh, is it his blade? Or another lance like yours?”
“No, it’s not a weapon like the other lines, in fact… it’s a shield, the Aegis Shield.” Dimitri discarded his regal cape and revealed a shining golden shield from beneath it. “In the distant past, the Fraldarius and Blaiddyd line were connected through marriage… from that union a royal child was born, so we carry the Fraldarius crest within our bloodline.” He gently set the shield onto the bedding, encouraging his son to inspect it closely. “Now Lambert… when you were born we had you checked for a crest-- as is royal protocol. Surely you can imagine our surprise when you ended up with the major Fraldarius crest over the minor Blaiddyd one-- especially after we had added Felix’s name to your own.”
Lambert let out an audible ‘huh’ at his father’s words before narrowing his eyes in concentration.
“Is- is that why I’m not heir to the throne?” He questioned, a calculating shine overtaking his warm brown eyes. His father nodded, averting his gaze as if he was ashamed.
“I know you must be upset--” Dimitri began before he was abruptly interrupted.
“Upset?” Lambert declared incredulously, “why would I be upset? This explains so much! That’s why all my tutors teach minor politics and the inner workings of territory government! Why, I have such frequent field assignments to Fraldarius territory… Heck, it even explains why I’ve had to meet with the heirs of House’s Galatea and Gautier so often… But what does that mean for House Blaiddyd? What of the Kingdom?”
King Dimitri cracked a smile, seemingly relieved that his son was taking the news so easily.
“Well, your brother, Rodren, will be taking the throne; yes, he has a Crest of Blaiddyd, so you needn’t trouble yourself with worry.” His words struck a chord within his son, who blinked his bleary eyes and scooted off his father’s lap. “Ah, have you grown bored of our conversation already?” The newly realized Fraldarius heir nodded and smiled tiredly.
“Thank you for telling me father…”
“Of course it was your right to know as Fraldarius heir.”
“No, I meant, thank you for telling me Uncle Felix’s story… and for the shield. I hope I can live up to his legacy…” With those last words exchanged, Lambert fell into a deep slumber, leaving Dimitri to stare at his son in awe. He brushed the blondes hair back and pressed a kiss to his forehead, picking up the Aegis Shield and placing it on a nearby chair. He stood up and made to leave the room before freezing in the arched doorway and looked back towards his son.
“I’m sure you will, Lambert, I’m sure you will.” And for a mere moment, Dimitri could have sworn he had heard Felix’s voice say “he already has.”

Ty needs Magnus’s help (Pt 6)
(Part one) (Part two) (Part three) (Part four) (Part five)
Magnus put the phone down on the table and looked at Ty who was intently reading a book that Magnus hadn’t read for a hundred years, but with the look of serious concentration on his face Magnus wondered if he should have read it more recently. He wasn’t looking forward to Mark and Cristina arriving and spooking Ty, or the accusatory look that Magnus himself would receive, but he also couldn’t bring himself to burst the bubble and tell him. So instead, Magnus waited, albeit twiddling his thumbs as he did so. It wouldn’t take Mark and his girlfriend very long to get to the apartment from their own, so when he heard knocking ten minutes after hanging up he wasn’t overly surprised. What was surprising was the Kieran was with them, dressed in the regalia of the King of Unseelie, and wearing a look on his face that suggested he knew Magnus wanted some of his blood. “Good afternoon,” Magnus said wearily.
“Where’s Ty?” Mark demanded and Cristina put a steadying hand on his shoulder. Magnus stepped aside and gestured for them to come in and they crowded into the entrance way of the apartment. They stood together in the way that those in love did, close and familiar without concern of crowding one another. Magnus had always been intrigued by the way that lovers worked together, their dynamics, and it was clear to anyone that in that moment Cristina was the one keeping the lid on her two boyfriends who were close to snapping at Magnus.
“Ty is in the living room reading, but he can’t hear you as I have him in a bubble of sorts.” Magnus explained, pointing in the direction he had come from. “He is safe and okay for the moment, I think we should talk first.”
“About what it is that you need my blood for.” Kieran said and Magnus nodded.
“I hadn’t been expecting you to be here, but yes that is what we need to discuss.” He agreed.
“We felt Kieran should be present for this.” Cristina said, “We snuck him away from General Winter, but we don’t have long.”
“Then follow me.” Magnus said, leading the way to the dining room. The three followed and draped themselves on chairs across from Magnus, with Mark in the middle. Magnus, who never sat with his back to doors after many long years of life and learning, felt uncomfortable with the fact that he was in fact, sitting with his back to the door.
“What is going on Magnus?” Mark asked, his palms flat on the table between them and a look of barely controlled anxiety and a wildness that Magnus associated with the Hunt. Magnus took a deep breath and, as he had been thinking about his words since hanging up the phone, began talking in a smooth and even tone he had always taken when discussing sensitive topics that he wasn’t being entirely honest about.
“Ty is haunted, there are a number of… let’s say angry souls… who are attached to Ty’s life force. They are tormenting him to the extreme and he came to me for help.” Magnus explained and Cristina’s hand fluttered to her mouth and Mark slumped backwards as if in shock or perhaps in despair. Kieran had an eyebrow raised and his hair had gone an indigo colour.
“Poor Ty, he wouldn’t be handling that well at all. He likes silence and not crowded places and… poor Ty.” Cristina murmured, repeating herself as if everyone needed to be reminded that Tiberius was in a terrible situation.
“Hence why you have put him in a bubble,” Mark realised, “But how did this happen?”
“And,” Kieran added, “What does this have to do with my blood?”
“Quite a lot…” Magnus said carefully, “The ghosts are getting stronger and soon enough they will be able to physically hurt Ty or drain his life force and yes I have a way to sever them from him, but if I use that spell all it does is give the spirits opportunity to hurt or even kill him without destroying themselves too. I need to make him a potion that will not only protect him, but will actually repel and banish the ghosts to where they came.”
“And the potion needs faerie blood?” Cristina asked.
“Not exactly,” Magnus said, “It needs blood from the Seelie and Unseelie royal family.”
Mark let out a low whistle, Cristina covered her eyes and Kieran templed his fingers on the table in front of him. Magnus waited with bated breath for some kind of response.
“How much blood?” Kieran asked, which  Magnus decided was a step in the right direction.
“Enough that you may feel weak and dizzy, enough that would kill a mortal, but you would survive.” Magnus replied honestly.
“Then I do not have a problem with that, as long as I will survive the process I will give some of my blood for the wellbeing of any of the Blackthorns.” Kieran replied. Mark gaped at his boyfriend and Cristina smiled behind her hands. Magnus, on the other hand, felt an immense amount of relief.
“Thank you, on behalf of Ty.” Magnus said and Kieran inclined his head regally in response.
“You don’t have to…” Mark began, but Kieran very gently touched Mark’s lips with his index and middle finger, and Cristina took Mark’s hand.
“I have offered myself sacrificially before Mark, this is just some blood and a process I will survive. Tiberius is in danger, and even worse than that he is suffering in a way that we cannot imagine. I will do this for him, for you and your family.” Kieran said softly and Mark nodded, kissing the fingers on his lips. Kieran smiled and looked back at Magnus, but before he could ask what would happen next Cristina interrupted.
“You need the blood of Seelie too don’t you?” She asked and Magnus supressed the urge to wince.
“Yes, I do.” He confirmed, “I was hoping Kieran may know of perhaps a princess or prince of Seelie who would be willing to help?” He added hopefully. Kieran scratched his nose as he thought, but there was doubt in his eyes.
“Nene, Mark’s aunt, is related to the Seelie Queen, but I am not sure where she is or where to contact her. And she is not a direct descendant of the Queen, which I am assuming is what you are after.” Kieran explained, “I fear you may be out of luck, and that the Queen may be the only living direct descendant of the royal line apart from her son Ash who is in Edom somewhere last we heard.”
“No sons or daughters?” Magnus asked, feeling a little bit of hope wilt in him.
“Oh of course she has sons and daughters, but none of which are alive or accessible, you would have more luck finding Ash Morgenstern in Edom.” Kieran replied, sounding a little more airily than the statement probably warranted. Magnus covered his eyes and rested his elbows on the table; he wasn’t sure what to do about the Seelie Queen, but he was a little relived he had the King of Unseelie on his team.
“You could always try to find the descendant of the First Heir.” Cristina whispered and Magnus picked his head up.
“The Riders of Manan killed them all.” Kieran replied, but Mark shook his head slowly.
“No she’s right, there have been rumours that one is alive, that there is a descendant of the First Heir alive. They would have Royal Seelie and Unseelie blood!”
“They would also be mortal and this would kill them, I need too much blood.” Magnus explained, “We cannot ask a stranger to sacrifice themselves for T-“ Magnus was cut off by Mark sitting to attention.
“Ty.” He whispered. Magnus turned in his seat to see the younger Blackthorn in his bubble standing in the doorway. He had the accusatory glare on his face that Magnus had been expecting, looking up at the warlock from under his extraordinarily long and dark eyelashes.
What are they doing here? Ty’s lips formed the words, and it was clear to anyone who knew him, that he was furious.
I didn’t tell them about Livvy, just that you were haunted. We need their help okay? Magnus mouthed and after a pause, Ty’s face smoothed out and although he still looked uneasy he no longer looked angry, now more so just curious. Magnus snapped his fingers and the bubble dissolved.
“Are you going to be okay outside of the bubble?” Mark asked immediately and Ty shrugged with one shoulder.
“There are only three ghosts here right now and they are being reasonably quiet, just keeping to themselves.” Ty replied simply and then sat down next to Magnus, “What do we need their help with?” He asked. Finally, Magnus explained about the blood and the spell and the potion. Ty looked disgruntled at the fact that he had been left in the dark, but he seemed more intrigued about the fact that Kieran had agreed to donate.
“Why?” He asked and Kieran the King of Unseelie, smiled tenderly at the younger boy.
“Because, for all intents and purposes, the Blackthorns are family to me, and I love your brother very much. Besides, you were always kind to me and I feel this is a way to be kind in turn.” Kieran explained.
“Why do people think love is a reason to do anything?” Ty wondered, as if the concept was not logical. This amused, and also frustrated, Magnus, who wanted to remind him that they were only in this situation because Ty loved his twin sister enough to try and raise her from the dead.
“Because some people act on feeling or instinct more than they act on logic and thought,” Mark explained and smiled at his brother, “Love has kept a lot of us alive.” He added. Ty looked as if he was going to revoke this, but he thought better of it and turned his attention to the air between Magnus and Kieran.
“So do you have to take his blood now?” He asked. Magnus shook his head.
“No, Kieran is more than welcome to draw his own blood and have it sent to me here.” Magnus said and then confirmed with Kieran how much blood he needed.
“I will arrange that as soon as possible, but for now I must go back.” He said and rose from the table. Magnus, Ty, Mark and Cristina rose too, but Mark seemed the only one reluctant to do so.
“Do you want me to stay?” Mark asked, his voice low and speaking directly to Ty. Magnus was definitely not the only one to notice the hesitation and conflicting emotions on Ty’s face, but he shook his head anyway.
“No, I think it would be best and safest if you went home with Cristina and Kieran,” Ty replied, his voice soft and raw, “But I am glad that you are close by if I need you.” He added. Mark, carefully, took Ty’s hands and pressed them between his own as a sign of affection for his little brother.
“Be safe little brother, and I will see you soon.” He said and then looked hard at Magnus, “And you help him and keep him safe.”
“Of course, and if any of you can think of a way to get Seelie blood let me know.” He added. They all nodded earnestly and then Cristina and Kieran took hold of Mark and they blinked out of existence without much more of a goodbye.
“Where did they go?” Ty asked.
“I would assume to take Kieran back to his kingdom.” He said and then looked down at Ty, “Do you want your bubble back for another few hours?” He asked reluctantly and Ty nodded. Magnus sighed and snapped his fingers for the bubble to return and after a moment, he followed Ty back into the living room to do more research, although this time he was examining an old family tree of the Seelie lands, but it wasn’t answering his question on how exactly to get what he needed.
After making sure Ty was settled in reading and distracted, Magnus picked up his phone and rang Tessa without even checking to see what the time was in Devon. He wanted to update her on Kieran’s agreement, as well as see if she had any idea at all on how to procure a large amount of royal Seelie blood.
(Part seven is gonna be super angsty between Magnus and Tessa who’s ready?)

So being able to make magic, that makes Ash a warlock? And not only that, he is a prince, a nephillim and has angel blood on his veins (more than his uncles). He is so powerful.
I wouldn't say warlock but he is able to do some magic, I think it is faerie magicWe don't know for sure why some faeries have magical powers(unseelie king Arawn, Seelie Queen and some others) and other faeries like Kieran don't haveBut due to magics put on him Ash is capable of doing faerie magic Who are said to be angels children with demons But he has angel blood from Sebastian and the experiments his parents did on him with angels blood He also has Lilith's blood (and maybe even more demon blood I am sure what lengths Sebastian was willing to Only hoping it is much less than the angel blood)Yes he is VERY VERY powerful in a way "his ever increasing powers" as Cassie addressed them makes him dangerous to himself and others around him if they aren't controlled carefully..Which is really sad 😔 I care about my sons well being a lot more than him being powerful 👀Shame on you Seelie Queen👀And I still think Kit maybe even more powerful than Ash because I believe Unseelie king or Seelie Queen somehow managed to get Black Volume and imbuied Auraline with "the dark artifices" as king called themThat's why there is a creepy prophecy about The First Heir which I am sure to be Kit because they didn't have enough time to finish what they want with Ash. I believe Auraline's spells were completed. This is why I believe we will see a Dark Kit at some point in TWP but he'll be saved by love 💕Thank you for sharing anon 😊

QoAaD theories on Ash, Kit, and Shade.
Ash: Ash is essentially confirmed to be the son of the Seelie Queen and Sebastian Morgenstern - he has green eyes, pale white hair, wears a crown ('a pale band of metal encircled it [his hair] at his brow'), and believed that his mother had sent someone to rescue him. The Seelie Queen mentioned in Lord of Shadows that she wants the Black Volume of the Dead because it contains a spell that she wants to use in order to get back someone who is close to her at the court that the Unseelie King is holding captive. This gives me a strong reason to believe that the  Ash is held captive by the Unseelie King:
'There were weapons in the room. . . of all sorts of metal except iron.' '"I'm called Ash," he said. "Did my mother send you?" He sounded hopeful. "Is she worried about me?"' [references from pages 561 to 562 of Lord of Shadows]
I'm not exactly sure why the King would want to hold Ash captive, but it could be because he is aware that he is a potential weapon, as he is half Nephilim and half fey. The King may want to keep him so that he could use him as a weapon, or to ensure that the Seelie Court doesn't ally itself with the Shadowhunters if a war breaks out. He may even want to use him as bait for Shadowhunters, though I doubt Ash is too fond of Shadowhunters in the first place. However, when he realised that Dru was a Shadowhunter, he was still hopeful of a rescue so perhaps he is aware of his heritage.
Kit Herondale: Kit is the only known descendant of the First Heir, Auraline,  who was the child of the Unseelie King and the Seelie Queen, thus having legitimate rights over both thrones. Could Kit be perhaps entangled in a plot where he is entitled over either or one of the thrones? "There is great power in their blood, and there is great danger too" (LoS, I didn't get down the page number sorry y'all).
Depending on what his special power is (apparently he has some that will be revealed in QoAaD), Kit could be a powerful weapon. As he is distantly related to Ash and all fifty Unseelie Princes, something interesting could happen between them and him.
On page 536, one of the Seven Riders of Mannan recognised Kit when they attacked him, Ty and Livvy: 'Eochaid stood arrested, his eyes glittering behind the holes of his mask. The irises, too, were bronze-colored. "I know you", he said. "I know your face."'
As the Riders were employed by the Unseelie King as searchers, (I feel like they were once used to search for the First Heir and I'm not sure if that was ever mentioned or if I made it up-) they could pop up again and want to capture Kit. The Unseelie King would be itching to get his hands on him if he finds out Kit is a related to the First Heir.
John Shade: To make it clear, the only reason I think John Shade is the warlock Ty, Livvia, and Kit encountered in the Shadow Market is because they both are warlocks who have green skin and go by the nickname 'Shade'. I think it's a bit of a stretch to assume they are the same person since John Shade (the adoptive father of Mortmain from The Infernal Devices) was killed in 1815 by Aloysius Starkweather and some other Shadowhunters but one thing the Seelie Queen said to Julian made me think that a comeback would be possible [ page 273 of Lord of Shadows]:
'"It is a weakness of your king, to regard death as so final," said the Queen with glee, "especially when it comes to warlocks."
Now that was in context to Malcolm returning but who knows? Maybe it's applicable to Shade as well since he didn't show the trio his face and wore a hood, perhaps because in 1815 he was decapitated. If he was decapitated, his head was probably kept as 'spoils' from battle, which Aloysius Starkweather showed Tessa in TID and perhaps Shade doesn't have a head right now? I'm aware that it's a stretch but who knows at this point.
I've had these ideas in my head since the second time I re-read the series in August 2018 but I am posting them on November 4th 2018 - a month before the release of QoAaD wowie! Okay, I'm done now I'll go watch emmmabooks video on her theories of what will happen see y'all!

Analyse of Daenerys’ chapter in “A Clash of Kings”
P. 388: “The Dothraki sacked cities and plundered kingdoms, they did not rule them. Dany had no wish to reduce King’s Landing to a blackened ruin full of unquiet ghoss. She had supped enough on tears. I want to make my kingdom beautiful, to fill it with fat men and pretty maids and laughing children. I want my people to smile when they see me ride by, the way Viserys said they smiled for my father. But before she could do that she must conquer. → Forshadowing. (So take that Dumb & Dumber)
P. 527: “To go north (Jon?), you must journey south (dragonstone?). To reach the west (Westeros?), you must go east (Essos?). To go forward you must go back, and to touch the light you must pass beneath the shadow (Asshai?=truth).” → ?
P. 529: “Sellswords have their uses,” Ser Jorah admitted, “but you will not win your father’s throne with sweepings from the Free Cities. Nothing knits a broken realm together so quick as an invading army on its soil.” (…) “You are a stranger who means to land on their shores with an army of outlanders who cannot even speak the Common Tongue. The lords of Westeros do no know you, and have every reason to fear and mistrust you. You must win them over before you sail. A few at least. → Foreshadowing?
The house of the Undying: P. 630: “By no means,” Pyat Pree said. “Leaving and coming, it is the same. Always up. Always the door to your right. Other doors may open to you. Within, you will see many things that disturb you. Visions of loveliness and visions of horror, wonders and terrors. Sights and sounds of days gone by and days to come and days that never were. Dwellers and servitors may speak to you as you go. Answer or ignore them as you choose, but enter no room until you reach the audience chamber.” (…) Shade of the evening, the wine of warlocks. “Take and drink,” urged Pyat Pree. “One draught will serve only to unstop your ears and dissolve the caul from off your eyes, so that you may hear and see the truths that will be laid before you.”
P. 631: “Not all the doors were closed. I will not look, Dany told herself, but the temptation was too strong. 1) In one room, a beautiful woman sprawled naked on the floor while four little men crawled over her. They had rattish pointed faces and tiny pink hands, like the servitor who had brought her the glass of shade. One was pumping between her thighs. Another savaged her breasts, worrying at the nipple with his wet red mouth, tearing and chewing. → Westeros against four kings (Balon Greyjoy, Robb Stark, Joffrey and Stannis Baratheon. =Present ⇒ P. 798, fulfilment of the prophecy: “The Seven Kingdoms have need of you. Robert the Usurper is dead, and the realm bleeds. When we set sail from Pentos there were four kings in the land, and no justice to be had.”
2) Further on she came upon a feast of corpses. Savagely slaughtered, the feasters lay strewn across overturned chairs and hacked trestle tables, asprawl in pools of congealing blood. Some had lost limbs, even heads. Severed hands clutched bloody cups, wooden spoons, roast fowl, heels of bread. In a throne above them sat a dead man with the head of a wolf. He wore an iron crown and held a leg of lamb in one hand as a king might hold a sceptre, and his eyes followed Dany with mute appeal. → The red wedding = Future 3) She fled from him, but only as far as the next open door. I know this room, she thought. She remembered those great wooden beams and the carved animal faces that adorned them. And there outside the window, a lemon tree! The sight of it made her heart ache with longing. It is the house with the red door, the house in Braavos. No sooner had she thought it than old Ser Willem came into the room, leaning heavily on his stick. “Little princess, there you are,” he said in his gruff kind voice. “Come,” he said, “come to me, my lady, you’re home now, you’re safe now.” His big wrinkled hand reached for her, soft as old leather and Dany wanted to take it and hold it and kiss it, she wanted that as much as she had ever wanted everything. Her foot edged forward, and then she thoughts. He’s dead, he’s dead, the sweet old bear, he died a long time ago. She backed away and ran. → Visions of loveliness or Days that never were ?? 4) Finally, a great pair of bronze doors appeared to her left, grander than the rest. They swung open as she neared, and she had to stop and look. Beyond loomed a cavernous stone hall, the largest she had ever seen. The skulls of dead dragons looked down from its walls. Upon a towering barbed throne sat an old man in rich robes, an old man with dark eyes and long silver-grey hair. “Let him be king over charred bones and cooked meat,” he said to a man below him. “Let him be the kings of ashes.” Drogon shrieked, his claws digging through silk and skin, but the king on his throne never heard, and Dany moved on. → The red keep – the throne room with Aerys speaking of Rhaegar to Varys. = Past 5) Viserys, was her first thought the next time she paused, but a second glance told her otherwise. The man had her brother’s hair, but he was taller, and his eyes were a dark indigo rather than lilac. “Aegon,” he said to a woman nursing a newborn babe in a great wooden bed. “What better name for a king?” “Will you make a song for him?” the woman asked. “He has a song,” the man replied. “He is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire.” He looked up when he said it and his eyes met Dany’s, and it seemed as if he saw her standing there beyond the door. “There must be one more,” he said, though whether he was speaking to her or the woman in the bed she could not say. “The dragon has three heads.” He went to the window seat, picked up a harp, and ran his fingers lightly over its silvery strings. Sweet sadness filled the room as man and wife and babe faded like the morning mist, only the music lingering behind to speed her on her way. → Rhaegar and Elia Martell, or is it a foreshadowing of the Jon’s birth? And the foreshadowing of there relationship. Past and future?
P. 634: “Our little lives are no more than a flicker of a moth’s wing to them (the Undying Ones),” Dany said, remembering. → Can be applied to god.
P. 635: “…. Mother of dragons… came a voice, part whisper and part moan. … dragons… dragons… dragons… other voices echoed in the gloom. Some were male and some female. One spoke with the timber of a child. The floating heart pulsed from dimness to darkness. It was hard to summon the will to speak, to recall the words she had practiced so assiduously. “I am Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.” Do they hear me? Why don’t they move? She sat, folding her hands in her lap. “Grant me your counsel, and speak to me with the wisdom of those who have conquered death.” (…) P. 636: “I have come for the gift of truth,” Dany said. “In the long hall, the things I saw… were they true visions, or lies? Past things, or things to come? What did they mean?” … the shape of shadows…morrows not yet made… drink from the cup of ice…drink from the cup of fire… (Jon?) …mother of dragons…child of three… (Rhaegar, Viserys, Daenerys?) “Three?” She did not understand. …three heads has the dragon… (Daenerys, Jon and ?) the ghost chorus yammered inside her skull with never a lip moving, never a breath stirring the still blue air… mother of dragons… child of storm… (Daenerys?) The whispers became a swirling song… three fires must you light… one for life and one for death and one to love… (for her dragons, the slavers? And Jon?) It’s almost time for Queen and I just wanted to share the theories I have. This is going to be long, so I’ll divide it into paragraphs. I also have a somewhat wild theory about Annabel and the Unseelie King that I kind of hope is true, which is probably not the case (who knows though).
Ash as Sebastian Morgenstern & the Seelie Queen's son
When the theory first came up, I was rolling my eyes because, really? ANOTHER Morgenstern? But with all the information we have at this point, what else would he be? I think the question we should ask ourselves is less “Is Ash a Morgenstern?” and more “Is he the weapon Clary and Jace were looking for and if so, why?”
I think he is, but I doubt he’s evil. Not only would that be too predictable to have another evil Morgenstern, but he’s also introduced in a way that sets him up to be Dru’s love interest for TWP. I believe he’s either a total cinnamon roll (which would be so ironic and amazing) or a morally ambiguous character.
But why could he be a weapon? Even if he were evil, that wouldn’t automatically make him a weapon. He could be one in the traditional sense that he can do something special. It’s not unlikely, considering he’s the son of one of the most powerful faeries alive and a demon-blooded Shadowhunter. But it could also be in the sense that as the Seelie Queen’s son, having him under your control means having power over her, which is probably why the Unseelie King has him.
What I don’t see, however, is Clary and Jace trying to kidnap a child to have power over the Seelie Queen. But the mission came from the Clave and they would definitely do something like that and maybe Clary and Jace don’t know the true reason or they do and are trying to save Ash. Especially if he truly has special powers, they would want to prevent him from using them for evil.
Also, one of my theories is that the Seelie Queen won’t survive or at least won’t stay a queen in QoAaD (more on that later), so I don’t think he’ll go back to her or maybe he does but not as a prince. I definitely don’t think he’ll stay in the Unseelie Court. But will he be with the Shadowhunters (as he could be trained as one, like Mark and Helen) or stay in Faerie? I have a lot of theories about Faerie (again, more on that later), so it’s difficult to guess what might happen. There are a lot of possible outcomes when it comes to Ash, he has the potential to be a villain, a love interest, a friend, an ally, or something in between.
The Unseelie Queen
I believe Annabel either is or will be the Unseelie Queen. This is the last book in a trilogy and yet the Unseelie Queen was never mentioned before, except for a drawing in the Shadowhunter Codex. Would Cassie introduce an important character in the last book of a series? I don’t think so. Also, I’ve read on here a while ago (but sadly don’t remember who made that post) that apparently Queen of Air and Darkness is another name for the Unseelie Queen in folklore, which I googled to check if it’s true and it did come up, though it doesn’t seem that common. And the Queen of Air and Darkness has, according to Cassie, already been introduced. Which makes it quite obvious to me that the Queen of Air and Darkness has to be Annabel, which should mean that Annabel has to be the Unseelie Queen.
And this is how we come to my somewhat wild theory: I think that maybe things are completely different than we think and Annabel has been evil all along and was always, even before her death, in league with the Unseelie King!
I know, I know, but hear me out: Annabel could have met the Unseelie King through Malcolm, which means they could’ve fallen in love. Maybe they even got married, and the Unseelie Queen depicted in the Shadowhunter Codex is actually Annabel Blackthorn! Perhaps that’s why nobody has ever mentioned or seen the Unseelie Queen, at least not ever since Annabel’s death: because for centuries, she was dead.
How did I come up with that? There’s a scene in LoS that I can’t find a reasonable explanation for unless the Unseelie King loves Annabel: Annabel tells the Riders of Mannan that she knows the Unseelie King’s true name. Now, it could’ve been a bluff, but the Riders are ancient beings, so I doubt they’d be easy to trick. Which is why I think she wasn’t bluffing and they knew, maybe they recognised her and knew she was in league with the Unseelie King, so they left because they thought whatever she was doing was a ploy in favour of the fae. Besides, Cassie never reveals such things randomly. If a character says they know the Unseelie King’s name, it’s likely that they do and that we will eventually hear it too.
So how would Annabel, a Shadowhunter, know it? I assume the only people that ever knew the King’s true name would be close family members (maybe only his parents) or considering how deeply faeries love, someone he genuinely loves and trusts. I also assume that as soon as he feels like someone who knows his name is posing a threat, the King would make sure they’re killed. Which means the only way Annabel could know the Unseelie King’s name would be if someone told her. Who would tell her, she’s a random Shadowhunter! Unless the Unseelie King told her himself because he truly loves her.
“But Malcolm and Annabel were in love!”, I hear you say. Well, we know Malcolm loved Annabel but who’s to say she truly loved him? She did kill him when he resurrected her and yes, it was explained by her being angry and mad and suffering all these years, so her love turned into hate, but even so it would’ve been a lot easier to kill him if she truly didn’t care for him at all. She could’ve pretended to be in love with him because the Unseelie King needed the Black Volume of the Dead and she needed Malcolm to steal it.
“But why didn’t the Unseelie King save Annabel if he loved her?”, you may argue. If I understood correctly, Malcolm and Annabel weren’t held at the same place. I assume the Unseelie King either couldn’t find Annabel or his magic couldn’t save her. After all, Downworlders are often held and brought to different places because Shadowhunters don’t want to “taint” their special places with their “Downworlder filth”, which was likely even more the case in the 19th century. So, the Unseelie King saved Malcolm instead and tried to use him to find Annabel. I’m not sure when and how he found out about her death but if he loved her, he probably wanted her resurrected. But if he didn’t know how to raise Annabel from the dead or couldn’t do it himself, he would’ve needed someone he could trust to want her back as much as he does—Malcolm Fade.
And now you may say, “Okay, but wasn’t the Unseelie King after the Black Volume and not Annabel?” Hm, if the Unseelie King was after the Black Volume alone, he wouldn’t have needed Annabel and therefore why would he let Malcolm even attempt to resurrect her? Especially once he died and it fell in the water, he could’ve easily retrieved it. Why allow him to keep it and resurrect some random Shadowhunter? Unless said Shadowhunter was important to the Unseelie King too. Maybe he even used his magic to help Malcolm put himself together to complete the ritual.
Now, I’m not sure what I believe Annabel’s motives were after being resurrected. Maybe she was still in love with the Unseelie King and everything she did was in partnership with him. Maybe she was genuinely mad at the King, so she hid the Black Volume not just from the Shadowhunters but also from him, hurt that he let her suffer for so long. Maybe she was angry with him at first but later started working with him, either before or after the mess that was the last scene of LoS.
Possibility One: Annabel took the Black Volume and went right to the Unseelie King with it upon being resurrected. I find it interesting that she was communicating with faeries. Why would faeries talk to a Shadowhunter? Why would a former Shadowhunter talk to faeries? Would she not stay away from Shadowhunters, warlocks AND faeries considering they were the ones that caused her suffering? I couldn’t figure out whether piskies are Seelie or Unseelie but if they are both and especially if they are Unseelie, the interactions would make a lot of sense. And considering they sent Julian and Emma to a place where a demon was waiting for them, it makes you think about her/their true motives … Yes, later Annabel saved them from the Riders of Mannan and went along with them to Idris but perhaps they wanted to stop the Cohort or there was another ploy going on, possibly to do with the Blight or something we don’t know about yet, so she went along and it was the plan all along that she acted all mad. Or they planned to do something, but she went genuinely mad, triggered by the Cohort. It would explain how the Unseelie King knew Annabel was in Idris and saved her.
Possibility Two: Annabel was furious with both Malcolm and the Shadowhunters AND the Unseelie King and wanted to hide from the world. When there was a chance of redemption, she, knowing the Unseelie King wouldn’t give up on her and everyone would keep hunting for her since she had the Black Volume, tried to get it to finally be left alone and be accepted back into Shadowhunter society and live out her life in peace. Her threats to the Unseelie King were genuine in that case and she genuinely went mad too. The Unseelie King spirited her away out of love in this scenario as well and I think they made amends after that. Or he’s now mad his Queen acted against him.
Either way, Annabel ends up back with the Unseelie King as his Queen. If this admittedly wild theory is correct, I assume the first version of it is more likely and Annabel always acted in collaboration with the Unseelie King. Cassie also said there’s a reason Annabel’s runes aren’t on the cover and her finger isn’t missing. Maybe by wearing the Unseelie crown (again?), she changes physically? I mean, we don’t know much about faerie magic, but we do know objects often hold certain powers, like Gwyn’s cloak for example.
Cassie described Annabel as a villain. Unless my theory is correct, she hasn’t been one so far. Sure, she killed Livvy, but that was because she went mad. It wasn’t really a villainous action. Besides, I’m certain she either is or will be the Unseelie Queen. And if she’s just mad, how will that happen? The King manipulating her? It’s not impossible but what would he have to gain with her as the Unseelie Queen? That would certainly give her power. Would he really give a mad Shadowhunter power? I don’t think so. Besides, I kind of like the idea of Annabel being in league with the Unseelie King, it would be an amazing plot twist and let everything shine in a new light while still making sense and making it even more plausible to have her be the Unseelie Queen aka Queen of Air and Darkness aka the ultimate villain.
Ty, necromancy & why Kitty is doomed
I definitely think Ty is going to attempt to resurrect Livvy and I definitely think it’s going to somehow put him in a situation that by the end of Queen will separate him from Kit. Unless they truly start out as a couple in TWP (which would be awesome too, but Cassie is all about angst, so unlikely), they have to be separated somehow. It’s clear they’re attracted to each other, there’s no way over the course of three years they won’t start dating unless something happens in Queen that changes things. Maybe Ty has to go on the run from the Clave because of his attempted necromancy, maybe Kit has to go on the run because he’s still hunted for being the descendant of the First Heir, or maybe Kit tries to stop Ty and they end up fighting and separating that way. I worry about the latter coming true because we’ve seen snippets that hint at Kit sabotaging Ty’s attempts. If they loved each other but were physically separated, I could live with that more than a Kitty fallout.
I don't think Livvy will be back completely, probably shortly as a ghost. So far, all necromancy in the books had horrible consequences and I think except for Jace, nobody stayed alive (Annabel still is but she surely won’t survive Queen). The books are basically teaching us that the dead should stay dead and if they don't, there's a price to pay. Cassie can't use the same Jace plot again with Livvy and I don't think she'll make her death even more painful by necromancy turning Livvy into a monster or zombie of some sort. I think it'll just be a way for the Blackthorns or just Ty to get closure and speak to Livvy one last time. Or maybe for Livvy to finish what she attempted to say when she died. Bringing her back completely would be way too easy and take away the pain her death caused.
Off-topic, but the only thing I don't like about Cassie's books is all the necromancy and dead characters turning out to not be dead after all because it makes death less of a final thing. You never know if a bad or good character may end up returning a few chapters or books later and that's something I hate. Cassie has been using this kind of thing as a plot device way too often already. I love Livvy and her death broke my heart, but can’t she just stay dead? We know she does come back in some way, maybe temporarily, but ugh, it’s so boring at this point. Jace and Sebastian were actually dead and resurrected, Malcolm was sort of resurrected for a short while, Annabel was resurrected, Jesse might be resurrected in TLH, Shade is most likely a character we thought was dead (more on that later), several dead characters appeared as ghosts and one of them is still sort of around by guarding the London Institute. It’s a little too much dead characters coming back and if it’s just to have a bittersweet moment of goodbye. Challenge for Cassie in TWP: no necromancy, no character thought dead returns, no new ghosts appearing. Can she do it? I’m not getting my hopes up.
Kierarktina aka Hot Faerie Threesome
I wasn't convinced this would be a thing at first but re-reading the first scenes with all three of them in Lady Midnight there are hints already with Cristina feeling desire when she sees Kieran and Mark kiss. And that continues throughout LoS and the snippets we’ve been getting from Queen. With every other author I'd call it teasing but Cassie has never done things like that and always delivered when it comes to hints at representation, so I can't imagine her teasing a threeway relationship like that and not making it canon. I worry it may only last for a short while though and one of them dies, but I really hope not. I just have this feeling it’ll be canon and I really hope I’m right.
Shade as Ragnor Fell
There are only two green warlocks that we know of and Cassie has confirmed we’ve already met Shade. The fact alone that he calls himself Shade makes it obvious to me that he isn't John Shade because how stupid would that be? It also makes no sense that he would appear and especially not that he'd help Shadowhunters because he fucking hated them. Ragnor, on the other hand, makes a lot of sense.
I think it was in "Son of Dawn", where Ragnor is one of the warlocks Jem asks for information about the Lost Herondale, it links Ragnor to the current plot in TDA. I even came up with a theory as to how and why he could've faked his death without Magnus knowing (we know Magnus doesn’t know because he literally thinks and talks about his grief for Ragnor with Catarina).
Remember how Jem was attacked in "A Deeper Love" by faeries for knowing too much? If Ragnor truly had information, it would make him a target too. Which is why I think, Ragnor may have been hiding in Idris and eventually the fey were too close and he knew he had to do something drastic. He probably didn't want to endanger his friends or asked only one of them to help him (Raphael?), so he made himself appear dead somehow, even to a warlock like Magnus. He made sure he could still get the information about the cure for Jocelyn out there, knowing one of his warlock friends would eventually check on him, so he passed the information on via enchanted message.  When the fey arrived, they found him already “dead” and left. Then Sebastian arrived, found him “dead” as well and claimed it was him (making it even easier for Ragnor to hide from the faeries because they would believe Sebastian had killed him). Why would Sebastian lie about it? Easy, he didn’t want to admit to his father or anyone that he’d been too late and Ragnor was already dead. Literally why wouldn't Sebastian lie? Or Sebastian was actually WITH the faeries that wanted Ragnor dead since they did have an alliance later on. In that case they would’ve collectively decided Sebastian would take the blame (or glory depending on who you ask), so they would not raise any suspicion to Jem. Though in this case I wonder who they suspected to be Ragnor’s actual killer.
Parabatai bond resolved
I think all bonds will break. What else could change the Shadow World forever? A law could always be changed back but we know if the parabatai bonds are broken, they’re going to stay broken. And it is a thing that makes Shadowhunters stronger, so it’s likely it’ll change the dynamics.
After the snippet with Julian worrying about Emma’s marks, a lot of people are worried Emma will be stripped of her runes, but it was already said that she couldn’t live not being a Shadowhunter. So, unless she’s going to die, I don’t think it’ll happen and I have a feeling she won’t die. It’s also too obvious. I don’t think Cassie would’ve shared a snippet like that if Emma was going to be deruned.
I think maybe it isn’t Julian but Emma who breaks the parabatai bonds (there’s a moment where she wonders if the bond could be evil, maybe she finds out that’s the case and decides to break all the bonds because of it) and maybe that’s the scene where Julian finds out. Though it does strike me as odd that he says “marks”. Maybe by breaking the parabatai bonds, something happens to runes in general or because Emma is the one, something happens to her? Or the scene has nothing to do with that and her marks change because of the curse that her loving Julian puts on them.
Cristina as the Seelie Queen
I’m leaning even more towards this after reading Cassie’s answer about the Seelie Queen narrating the epilogue. It’s the series finale, it’s not going to end in a cliff hanger, even if as Cassie has said not all fates are great, the story has to be complete. If we think of TMI, the ending was a true ending without any sort of cliff hanger, the main characters were all safe and okay. But there were still the fates of the TDA characters that weren’t great and hinted at more story to come (with Helen in exile, Mark in the Wild Hunt, Emma and Julian in love but on the path of becoming parabatai, etc.). Which is how I think TDA will end too. How does the epilogue being narrated by the Seelie Queen fit into that?
And I’ve actually been thinking about Cristina as the Seelie Queen before because all her interest in and ties to faeries have to have a deeper meaning than her being in a love triangle with two faeries. Cristina hasn’t been in a significant plot outside of her love triangle so far but she’s a main character and she knows enough about Faerie to survive there. So what if she snatches the Queen’s crown and by default becomes the Seelie Queen? Makes me wonder how the faeries are going to react when a Shadowhunter seizes the position of their queen but do they have a choice but to follow her? As I said earlier, certain faerie objects tend to give people powers, so there might not be anything the fey could do but try and trick Cristina back. Or maybe they come to like and appreciate her as their queen because she doesn’t act like an entitled Shadowhunter but actually tries to live by their rules and their ways (without compromising her own morals of course). It could also mean the epilogue takes place in the Seelie Court and may be some celebration held by Cristina, maybe even her crowning ceremony (my friend suggested that btw).
Kieran as the Unseelie King
Now ever since that revelation about Kit being the descendant of the Unseelie King AND Seelie Queen, I’ve been doubting whether Kieran would actually end up as the Unseelie King but since Cassie said that Kit’s heritage will affect him more in TWP, I doubt he’s going to become the Unseelie King or King of all Faeries in QoAaD. That would mean he’d start out as a powerful King when TWP starts, which is an unlikely position for a protagonist.
So either the Unseelie King simply stays in power or it’s Kieran who replaces him. We know how much he was liked in the Unseelie Court, so he probably would have enough support for it to work. And he has no place to go at the moment, so unless Cassie plans on killing him, which I still worry about, but I also assume she’ll make the hot faerie threesome canon, he pretty much has to become the Unseelie King. He can’t stay with the Shadowhunters, but he’d face execution in Faerie if the Unseelie King stayed in power. Well, I guess if Cristina becomes the Seelie Queen, Kieran would live with her in the Seelie Court and be safe there …
Connecting this theory with Cristina being the Seelie Queen and Kierarktina being canon (or even just Kiertina), they might end up reuniting the Courts. There was a snippet in which it happens, so maybe it’s not Kieran and Cristina that are reuniting them, unless that snippet somehow is closer to the end of QoAaD. Either way, it would be cool having Kieran as the Unseelie King, Cristina as the Seelie Queen, Mark as, well, Mark—living together and loving each other and ruling over all of Faerie. It would also make them conveniently absent in TWP. But maybe this is would be too good to be true.
Death predictions
(Probably) Won't die: the TMI main characters, Jem and Tessa, and the confirmed TWP characters (if Cassie plans on killing main characters from other series, it’s going to happen in TWP, not TDA); Diana (she's the only trans character, Cassie won't kill her); Helen and Aline (she won’t kill them as they just came back and are the only f/f couple); Tavvy (he almost died in LM already, it would mean yet another Blackthorn dies and it would be Max 2.0, way too predictable), Emma (I genuinely don't think she'll die, it's a gut feeling)
(Probably) Will die: Diego (I'm sure of this, he’s just the kind of character that is destined to die and after a certain snippet, I assume he’s the one that’s going to be executed); Annabel (I just don't see a version where she comes out of this alive)
On the fence about it: Jia (because of the scene where Jace nominates Alec for Consul but maybe she just steps down voluntarily, after all, Cassie has killed so many Consuls already), Julian (I used to believe he would die, possibly executed for breaking the parabatai bonds but now I’m leaning more toward Emma breaking them and Diego being executed and it just seems more and more unlikely he’ll die but who knows); Mark, Cristina or Kieran (I do believe Kierarktina will be canon but it might be short lived and I really wouldn’t rule out that one of them dies but I’m certain at least two of them will live and I’m hoping they all survive); Cameron (he’s not very liked and since he was behind a plot point, it could lead to his death because that would mean he’s more involved than we thought he was); Zara or Horace (I think it’s likely only one of them dies, I’m leaning toward Zara because having a bigot as the Inquisitor for TWP would certainly make it harder for everyone, especially if he’s getting even worse out of grief and Zara could die because she’s just not that good of a Shadowhunter and way too horrible to continue doing what she does); Gwyn (I don’t really think Cassie will kill the love interest of the only trans character but she doesn’t reveal information that Gwyn’s power is in his cloak for no reason and it makes me believe that at the very least he won’t stay the leader of the Wild Hunt for much longer), the Seelie Queen and/or the Unseelie King (I feel like at least one of them will die if not both and if they both live, I think at least one of them will lose their position as monarch)
And that’s it! Did anyone actually read this? I don’t even care, I just needed to write down my thoughts and after spending so much time doing it, I really felt like it would be a waste not to post them.
