I think my favorite thing about pre-timeskip Sanuso is that they are 17/19 years old. They are. So young. Teenagers. They know nothing about love and. And they are so stupid. Don't get me wrong, they still are. But they were even MORE stupid, if that's even possible.

And I love saying they started crushing on each other around Skypiea but-- Just imagine these two idiots already giggling and kicking their feet right after. I dunno. Arlong Park. Extremely early. They literally just met. And you have this casanova-wannabe having the realization™ about maybe perhaps kind of liking boys. And the other idiot who has a type™ (rich, classy, kind blondes) and won't stop asking himself why because Sanji is annoying af. He genuinely doesn't understand why he likes Sanji. Seriously. He hates it. And Sanji's sexuality crisis lasts between like, zero seconds and absolutely nothing because he sees Usopp smiling at him and his mind goes "prettyprettyprettyprettyboy" and there's no use trying to fight his demons (bisexuality).

The funniest thing about this is that they won't stop arguing like. From the moment they see each other. Usopp understands why he likes Sanji, okay? He is a pretty boy. He is also kind when he isn't being a complete jerk. He is kind of cute when he talks about the All Blue. He helps people whenever they need to. But then Sanji says something stupid and Usopp has the "fuck he is so annoying I wanna make out with him I mean---" crisis like, three times a day. While Sanji, since he has stopped fighting his demons, is a mix between "I will get over this crush fr fr he is just a guy" and "haha maybe if I save him he will give me a kiss on the cheek haha that'd be nice hahahahahahaa *gives in to gay thoughts for an hour until he sets the kitchen on fire*"

Sanji gets Usopp's goggles back in Alabasta because he is so down bad he just wants Usopp to thank him. Usopp is burning with jealousy in Whisky Peak when all those girls flirt with Sanji. They are both like "teehee it's cold out here we should probably sleep together just for warmth right hahaha". They spend all of Alabasta being annoying and everybody hates it. Vivi thinks they are dating. Sanji explains Usopp the 'Mr.Prince' trick and puts his glasses on only because Usopp thinks it's soooo cool. And Usopp thinks it is soooo fucking stupid but he wants to hype him up because, again, he is seventeen and he wants the pretty (and very stupid) blondie to kiss him.

When they get to Skypiea it is. The fucking worst. That is peak crushing on each other. It is not even realizing they are crushing, it is extreme "if we aren't next to each other constantly I think I will die" type of thing but "we can't tell each other how we feel bc what if it's not mutual". So they sleep next to each other. They hold hands. They pretend like they don't like it. They are dying from embarrassment. Sanji tells Usopp he doesn't care if he dies because he is having an "I need to look straight" moment and Usopp is having a "fuck why did I fall for a straight guy" moment. Then Sanji saves them, because he is like that but also because he is. Head over heels. Usopp takes care of his wounds right after and they are both so. So nervous.

Like-- Sanuso but they are crushing early in the story and they are both SHAKING every time they talk to each other. Sanji tries to act sooo cool and Usopp is like "haha yeah you're sooo cool" while regretting every decision he has ever made because why the hell does he want to fuck a blond loser.

By the time they get to Water 7 everything is more like. Genuine and romantic and they are basically in love with each other at this point. So I don't need to explain anything but. But. But Usopp in Thriller Bark thinking he is so cool with his little vampire hunter outfit and Sanji being down bad for him because he is, indeed, very cool. But Usopp is also having his teenage Conan Gray 'Heather' moment because Sanji won't stop saving Nami and Usopp just really really really wants Sanji to save him instead but okay fucking blond guy I hate him I hate him I hate him---

They both have their moments of screaming btw. Sanji finds moments alone to go to the kitchen and just. Scream inside of pots. Scream inside of glasses. Scream inside of cabinets. He likes Usopp so much it's physically unbearable and Usopp won't stop spending time with mosshead so of course he is angry. And Usopp goes to the boys' quarters to scream in pillows and the lockers and he is so stressed.

Sanji tells Usopp to taste his food before anybody else (please I am making this for you this food is for you love me love me love me love me) and Usopp constantly tells Sanji his stories because nobody else listens to him (do you think I'm cool please think I'm cool please please). Sanji has so many nosebleeds every day but they are not exaggerated they are. They are just there. He will constantly have nosebleeds and he lies and says it's just a weird condition because saying "please let your hair down more I am in love with you" is weird. And Usopp constantly bumps into walls and shit like that when he is trying to make Sanji look at him.

Their crushes on each other take like, at least, 80% of their time. It is insane and ridiculous and awkward and they are blushing 24/7 and kicking their feet and screaming and they like like each other. They don't say it like normal people. They like like each other. Because they're. Stupid. And young. And they make so many mistakes but they are growing up together. And I think that's beautiful and I adore them <33

WAIT WAIT WAIT EDIT: Not to mention the first time have sex. Not going into details bc. That's for another post I want to make. But they definitely had sex like. Before Sabaody. And it was the weirdest most disgusting teenage thing ever and I adore them. They were SO anxious. And it is. So cute. And I love themIlovethemwefnlwkefnln (<- normal person)

Until now, have you found any couple (canon or non canon) from any media (books, tv series, movies, anime/manga, etc) that the dynamics remind you of Neil/Andrew and Damen/Laurent?

if you're looking for dynamics specifically (as opposed to a full romance arc) the lymond chronicles, the queen's thief and empire of the vampire will scratch that damen/laurent itch.

it's common knowledge, at least in my niche circles, that cs pacat is a big fan of dorothy dunnett's work, that laurent is based on lymond and that his relationship with damen (down to specific scenes) was inspired by lymond's numerous boytoys. so reading the lymond chronicles after captive prince is constantly going aha! *leonardo dicaprio pointing meme*. what these books however don't have is a full romance arc with any of those men which is why you could say capri is, in a sense, a slash fic of the lymond chronicles. it's my favorite series of all time and i can't recommend it enough but it's also rather inaccessible in the beginning and has a steep learning curve - quite a commintment of your time and brain energy but so SO worth it!

the queen's thief is another series heavily inspired by the lymond chronicles and it has multiple ships that reminded me of damen/laurent: gen's love interest is very much a cast iron bitch and they do engage in an intense enemies to lovers romance, with some casualties. costis and kamet's story in thick as thieves is basically if the side quests laurent and damen went on were a whole separate book. and while not a canon romance like the previous two, whatever gen and costis have going on in the king of attolia is very reminiscent of the laurent/damen dynamic in book one (minus the slavery). two things to keep in mind if you decide to pick up the queen's thief: it's sort of ya (??) so the brutality and sexiness, while present, will not be on the same level as capri. and book one doesn't feature any of the above ships so, again, you gotta commit to the whole thing :)

now, while these two recs seem like no-brainers to me, i'm very excited to take this opportunity to yell about empire of the vampire from the rooftops AGAIN!! eotv is basically a story about epic quests and valiant deeds told by a jaded captive vampire hunter to his cunty vampire captor (who is blonde bc yes). jean françois is definitely inspired by anne rice's lestat (as the narrative format as a whole is inspired by interview with the vampire) but his dynamic with gabriel is just Peak Laurent/Damen Banter. "i speak your language better than you speak mine, sweetheart" and "hello, lover" galore! in fact, after i found out that pacat and jay kristoff know each other personally i became convinced that he had either read capri and borrowed the vibe OR *starts rambling about her conspiracy theory about how all australian fantasy authors drink secret australian magic juice that makes them write fun depraved sff, gets smacked on the head, passes out* where was i... ah yes, nasty gay vampires. eotv is very fun and very tropey, also very queer and sexy (esp book two) and it had my toxic yaoi needs covered however comma. jean françois/gabriel is basically them sitting in a room in the frame narrative and exchanging homoerotic barbs, while the story itself is about gabriel's past adventures (also very interesting but less homoerotic). it's unlikely that they're gonna have any sort of romance arc - unless someone reads the books and writes a fic of them. please.

alas, i still can't rec anything that comes close to what nora achieved with andreil. to me, the defining characteristics of their dynamic are two feral cats circling and sniffing each other, intricate rituals, overdramatic dialogue, aspec attraction (on neil's part). while one can attempt to find some of these elements in other stories, you cannot find all of them at once (aspec pov on relationships being particularly rare in fiction). there's just no other couple that manages to strike a perfect balance between the anime levels of drama and chaos on the one hand and the serious themes of trauma, acceptance, consent etc on the other hand. sorry, anon, ig we'll have to keep re-reading aftg until one of the aspiring authors i bet this fandom has a lot of writes their own book inspired by andreil🤷‍♀️

Caroline Polachek as a Sociological Phenomena and why it’s Important to Gatekeep Twinks.

So there I was (picture unrelated) waiting for the train at 10:30 PM on a Sunday so I can go take some extra estradiol from a generous friend at a gay bar, full incognito, wearing a fucking hoodie, I’m so tired I spent all day working on the flier for my new absurdist drag bingo because I and everyone I know are walking parodies of bushwick transexuals.

Train is taking forever so I have some time to kill, and I decide (d? Should I care about continuity? I am not a writer, I’m an author.)

Anyway I decided to put the recent Caroline Polachek album on, which is big for me because I have been a bit of a Caroline Polachek denier. I listened to Chairlift very casually when I was a teenager but I was far from die hard and since then I’ve kind of just thought of her as an unfortunate but all too common case of a talented musician being so aggressively HAIM-Pilled that it’s practically deafening. I say this as a dyke with love for all dykes❤️

Also the “new queen of artpop” claims coming from the exact type of 5’8 naturally dirty blonde he/they’s I’ve made it my life goal to disagree with at all times are really not helping her case for me.

Because here’s my thing. I’m a Kate Bush ride or die, surprising I know. I have I’ve always been a coward tattooed below my collarbones like the only 1% I’ll ever be a part of is her Spotify listeners.

But here’s the tea, if you’re not ready and willing to hee haw like a fucking donkey on a song that’s probably about some form of domestic abuse you just aren’t the new queen of artpop. I do make the rules and to be honest the only people in pop music right now not named lady fucking gaga who has the panache, the gaul, the unwavering commitment to pull stunts and shenanigans on that level are Ethel Cain and Lingua Ignota, especially since FKA Twigs decided she wanted to live a happy and fulfilling life (and good for her, thank you for all the good times queen)

And Caroline is simply not there, she’s too squeaky clean and widely appealing to go to those absurd and ugly places that make a Bjork.

Now my personal cocomelon/surrogate father figure Anthony Fantano the Internet’s Busiest Music Nerd did love her album, and I usually agree with his takes (mbdtf is mid you just love it because it was baby’s first concept album and you have a deep yearning to return to a time in your life where you first realized music could be art) BUT WHILE I AGREE WITH MANY OF HIS TAKES (sorry) my one glaring exception is that he never takes how cunt something is into consideration while evaluating a piece of music, and by that I do mean that he said gaga peaked at fame monster and 212 is the only good azealia banks song. He doesn’t have the tools to engage with music in a fag like manor, so when we’re dealing with music for gays, I don’t trust him.

And then last night I saw a Drag Queen named The Illustrious Pearl perform welcome to my island as a showgirl vampire wearing rhinestoned knee pads and frankly if Caroline is good enough for her she’s certainly good enough for me.

And I’m gonna be really vulnerable here, I really enjoyed the album. Like, there’s about as much art in it’s pop as cranberry in a gay bar vodka cran but it’s damn good pop and the art adds a nice little aftertaste.

I believe is definetely my favorite, those Rhythm Nation/Mortal Kombat ass synth hits always make me convulse (America Has A Problem is my favorite track off Renaissance) (it took me a whole 2 minutes to spell renaissance right) but I also like welcome to my island a lot and I at least liked everything else except for Billions which sounds like a song that was rejected from The Sensual World because Kate would never release a song that non-violent.

But it was cute. I have a meeting with a literal church upstate that is trying to book me for their pride drag show tomorrow and one of them just texted me “Brainstorming with the Holy Spirit is so exciting and so fruitful ✝️💜✝️) and I believe those synth hits on I Believe will carry me through my challenges tomorrow. Love Down.

6. Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to?

Totally, a lot of stuff. Some of the books that are waiting home for me are Ursula K. Le Guin's Left Hand of Darkness or Dawnshard & Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson.

11. What was your favorite book that has been out for a while, but you just now read?

I read The Faded Sun trilogy, which originally came out in the 70s. It's an old school political sci-fi that was written by a (gay) woman, so you get all the cool ideas and world-building without having to deal with awful sexism on every page lol.

Also The Vampire Lestat, but I think Lestat and his awesome blond hair and rocking hot bod need no introduction.

16. What is the most over-hyped book you read this year?

Not sure what I would consider over-hyped, I tend to avoid Booktok type things. Hm, maybe Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor? That was one of the worst books I've read in my life. If I ate a bowl of alphabet soup and then threw up on my shoes, the pasta letters floating amidst my vomit would form a better story.

14. assign a fashion aesthetic to this character

loooove cozy/preppy stuff for him, with a bit of a dramatic flair. light academia maybe? also scrunchie. obviously

22. what are some things you like in fics for this character? something you don’t like?

big fan of fics acknowledging how murky his morals actually are, and how questionable his actions in the manga objectively were. i also love when his “dark” leanings and weirder urges are actually empowered by the narrative—not excused or fixed, but rather posed as a valid (while flawed) counterpoint to what other characters and the reader are likely to believe is Right. in general i like the idea of his story being less about good and bad, and more about being himself, in all his ugliest and most beautiful ways, and finding peace in relationships and on his own. considering the specific way he was metaphysically created, and my personal interpretation of him as gay, those themes just hit even harder.

uhhhh i guess i don’t love overly simple depictions of him as all good or all bad, or when people ignore the fact that he had a clear internal conflict about his plan. like to play it as if he’s not uniquely affected by what happened with shadow, and also to not have the others call him on how he treated them, feels like a cop out. but like, that happens most often in fics that aren’t even about him in particular, so it makes sense!

also i’m not a huge fan of interpretations that mistake logical intelligence for emotional intelligence. vio is smart, but when it comes to feelings he’s probably the least likely person to understand what’s going on. (unless considerable development has been established during or prior to the fic)

24. what other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?

OH this is fun. these are more based on my personal interpretation and fic than the funny little man in the manga, but

buffy summers - blonde, chosen one, likes bad boys way more than they should, complicated relationship with vampires (fanon for vio), morally inconsistent and emotionally dishonest, wears a lot of purple

veronica sawyer - pretentious misanthrope with a superiority and god complex, really likes bad boys, like maybe a little too much, like they both probably should have stopped being permissive of said bad boys’ actions a while before they did, ultimately chooses to fight against unhinged partner obviously infatuated with them for Moral Reasons while still leaving a lot of unanswered questions about the dubiousness of their own morals, all of their friends have the same names, scrunchies

I wanted to not only establish that he’s peacocking himself and intentionally drawing the mc’s attention, but also the greater implications of that as you mentioned! It also insinuates that in this situation he does not see himself as the hunter, but rather he’s trying to make himself a noticeable target for his prospective lover. He’s essentially brandishing his own vulnerability- again it’s that silent begging aspect, like a deal that can’t be spoken aloud until signed into effect. His vulnerability is the ultimate bargaining chip- he’ll go so far as to bare his throat and see what the mc will do. <3

Day 9: Past

This challenge is making me realize i barely have characters, just pretty designs LOL.

Was only able to do some sketches today of what these two might look like/do in the future.

I wrote two pages about their future. And its pretty confusing, their story line isn't pinned down yet. So I imagine their stories ending in two different ways. Either dramatic death by police "Everybody dies" ending. Or the good ending, they live in a cabin in the woods together for the rest of their days.

I'll talk about the change in their looks first. Jeremiah finds confidence in his vampire identity, he shaves his snake tendrils, he's not afraid to show off his vampire ears. He gains a little bit of weight, grows an inch or two. I really like his jet black eyes, but I'm not too sure about the vampire lore in this universe, so his eyes could also be a fun color like purple or some. He's gotta have a face scar from their adventures i just don't know where, hehe. As for jack, I'm still unsure whether he's a natural blonde, or if he dyes his hair blonde so he doesn't look like his father. Either he dyes his hair black, or he lets his natural brown hair grow out. He also has a little stubble, because again he's less afraid of looking like his father. Another thing I'm unsure about in his design is his lip ring, hes supposed to be this macho guy so I don't think he could justify the lip ring. He also has a lot of punk influence though, so maybe thats how he justifies it? Its not gay because its cool and edgy punk. But maybe he gets one at the end of the story. IDK!!! see what i mean when I saw i barely have ocs LMAO nothing is figured out with these two and Ive had them for like 2 and half years now.

I explored the cabin option, bc i love my gay boys and want them happy. They live in this nice isolated cabin, since Jeremiah is the son of the vampire ruler they are living on the border of human land and vampire territory. Jeremiah probably gets delivers of blood from his father, and his father is the one who gave them the cabin. They've adopted three cats, more so jack adopted three cats. I drew up the cats designs, they would have 2 black cats, and one calico. They have batty, who is deaf but has huge ears. Hubert who is older and really beat up. He is missing an eye and an ear. Hubert's like the ring leader of the kitty trio. And then lily who is missing a leg. Jack is reconciling his past by taking care of these messed up creatures. He feels reflected in them, they are broken but he loves and takes care of them. Hubert is his favorite, he has a really rumbling purr.

I imagine their relationship is much better then the early years, falling into a dynamic thats good for the both of them. No more fighting and trying to kill each other, just a symbiotic relationship of Jeremiah drinking jacks blood and jack eating Jeremiah's arms occasionally LOL. Thats what I'm really struggling with, how do u give a happy ending to a delusional psycho cannibal. Jeremiah is very motherly to jack near the end, holds him a lot, kissed his fore head. They've almost switched power dynamics, jack no longer being the lead in the relationship.

I think jack has started to make peace with his homosexuality, he would never say it aloud, but his internal voices have reached an understanding. And by starting the process of dealing with that internalized hatred, he's opened the flood gates to processing all the traumas he been through. I think it would be SO funny if he saw a zoom therapist from their cabin, to understand his childhood trauma. He never tells the therapist about the murders, he still a vigilante about being caught by authorities. Jack spends a lot of time in the woods building those strange forest sculptures. He just spends hours everyday, in pure silence collecting sticks and assembling these huge sculptures. He's stopped popping pills and drinking, but still smokes pretty heavily. He's depressed because he's realizing what he's done to the peoples he's killed. I feel like he wouldn't feel bad about all of them, he still believes he had a right to kill the old men. He doesn't feel bad for the hooker, but the random kid, and the gay men he murdered. His father hurt him and his family so bad, and he's realizing that he wasn't taking power back from the universe he was just doing the exact same thing his father was. Jeremiah keeps him as stable as he can, but he breaks down a couple times, probably tries to commit. Probably tries to turn himself in. But Jeremiah doesn't let him. The story of the cannibal killer stays in news for a long time after. The police are still looking for the culprit. Jack tries not to watch the news, but he does. When he sees the family members talking about how much they want to find the bodies of their loved ones,, he cant handle it. He donates so much money to gofundmes for these familys. I feel like this is such a downer end to their story tho, so its still being work shopped. Like these two boys go on this epic coming of age story, and it ends with major depression hello. I think they could also both just stay delusional and murderous together, and like hunt down the occasional hiker. But IDK.

They still be kissin n shit, they are probably super comfortable with each other since they've spent so much time together. I think it would also be interesting if jack becomes sort of a famous sculpture, and in his old age reveals that he was the cannibal killer. He gets taken into custody, but they don't have any evidence to prove that he he truly is and he gets let go. A homosexual famous sculpture claims he was the cannibal killer from 30 years ago. Jeremiah doesn't age obviously becauses he a vampire. I don't really care about their story after this, I dont want to think about them growing old together and jack eventually dying. That is just sad and uninteresting!

Random collection of my headcanons bc I can’t have a cohesive thought and idk what to expand upon

Skull has a very complicated and confusing intimate history. At least.. Nowadays! He woke up from being an ice pop and suddenly all these new villains think he’s the hottest shit they’ve ever seen! He isn’t.. used to it, nor does he have any idea where it comes from. Some, he humors. Others, he ignores. Maybe it is to protect his empire.. Perhaps, it is to protect himself.. Like it or not, various villains chase his tail. He tolerates it. For now.

cOUGH COUGH HACK HACK— Okay so Imma rip off the bandage immediately.. Hawkeye and Red Skull would be very cute. hEAR ME OUT,, Just,, Snarky, Smartass Avengers Assemble Hawkeye getting wrapped up in Calculating, Cunning Skull’s plans? PEAK IDEA!! JUST P E A K!! I’m not one for Skull to venture far from Steve, however their history is.. complicated. Hawkeye.. He’s not Captain America, sure. He’s not the pinnacle of health (being deaf). He’s just a guy with arrows.. But.. that’s intriguing. Hawkeye is just a man with arrows, yet he’s an Avenger? Iron Man is a guy in a tin can, but he at least has money! Hawkeye.. is broke.. He’s snarky, he sasses Skull during most missions. He creates a back and forth with Johann only Steve really tries.. The other heroes? They don’t take things.. personally. Hawkeye does. Besides, he’s a blonde.. Skull is soft for blondes..

Red Skull and Captain America are each other’s comfort zones. They both woke in a changed world, one that shifts constantly. Sure, Skull is better at adapting than Steve. It’s his strong suit.. But, the world is still alien to him.. Steve feels this comfort more than Skull. The world changed, the one he knew is gone. His old friends? They all died.. The tech changed, the war is over, it’s all.. different. However, one thing remains the same. Red Skull. He’s the same Skull Cap remembers from the glory days. The accent remains, those piercing yellow eyes still glow, and his laugh is as evil as ever. Sure, Skull’s got a few new scars, but he’s still Cap’s same Skull. Steve is thankful for it.

Skull has various plots, sort of a plot A and plot B. Everyone sees plot A, rule the world, destroy the avengers, yadda yadda.. However, plot B is more.. selfish desires. Personal plans to satisfy a sense of.. longing in Skull. They’re more.. in tune with his heart, and he refuses to share them with most. Zola, Viper, and Night see the most of it. They’re his core support.. They’re granted access.. His B plans of course include his mother. He longs to bring her back, to at least meet her once.. Curiosity will always drive Johann and he longs to truly know.. Who she was. Does she like tea? Is her favorite color yellow? Can she sing? How will she feel about Hydra? So many questions he longs to answer.. Yet, his mother isn’t the only plan. He wants to create a daughter, one of science. He’d rather choke on his own blood then pursue a woman (as a gay man), so science will have to do. Though, he isn’t sure which candidate to use.. Him, definitely. Though, what other man is worthy to help create the new heir of Hydra?..

Skull gets bitches, okay. He’s got so many bitches trying to hit him up, it’s ridiculous. His army has grown beyond mere foot soldiers for this very reason. He has mechanical aid, thanks to his loyal lapdog Justin Hammer. He has technical aid, due to M.O.D.O.K’s.. strange devotion.. Vampires swarm Johann, thanks to the fact the Vampire King has set his eyes upon the Hydra leader.. At this point, Skull wouldn’t bat an eye if aliens become at his beck and call. Suppose he’s just that attractive..

Everyone agrees Skull is a fine piece of ass. Captain America will admit it, Hawkeye keeps pestering everyone about it, of course all of Hydra thinks so— Even Tony has to agree just so people stop bringing it up. The only one who’s too stubborn to address it is Widow, for she’s an aro/ace!!

Black Widow ACTUALLY has a Russian accent bc I’m upset they never give her one!! I also like the idea of her having spider features, bc she’s a BLACK WIDOW.. she’s also Hawkeye’s best friend bc I’d rather die than have another classic boy x girl love story.. cHRIST WOMEN AND MEN CAN JUST BE FRIENDS!!

Hawkeye is iconic, enough said. He is bisexual (male leaning), and is sort of a flirt. He flirts to take villains off guard, but if anyone offers to hit him up he wouldn’t object.. Also he’s deaf bc they need to stop taking away disabled representation!! He was practically raised in the circus of crime and has a big love for dance!! He’s better comic relief than Tony any day, and he’s super underrated. We stan AA Hawkeye!!

Mother Night and Viper are pillars of the Hydra empire and are very important in Skull’s life. Not only are they heads of his army, but they’re the female support he needs. Red Skull needs friends, he could truly thrive with a support system. He needs Viper’s level-headedness to keep him on the ground. While, Mother Night’s concern and affection for him allow Skull to know when he’s safe. We need more females within the Hydra army, and more women in general. Besides, they’re super cool and have awesome capes!!

Skull has complex feelings when it comes to parental.. things. He recalls his own father, and is envious of anyone who’s been graced with a mother. This all hits him when he decides to create an heir for Hydra.. Seeing baby Sin.. He’s conflicted, almost scared but won’t admit it. He doesn’t want to be like his father. He doesn’t want to live up to that.. However, he isn’t too sure how to properly parent either. At first, he is convinced he doesn’t want to raise a child. He’d rather have Zola age the baby up immediately, but.. Once he sees his little girl, he wants to hold her.. Carry her around and show her all of Hydra.. He’s lost in his head, and doesn’t know what to do.

Skull will always fixate on Captain America, that’s never going away! Though, his eyes have started to wander.. What if there truly is no hope for the Captain? He will never succumb to Johann’s wishes.. Perhaps, modern men aren’t so bad? Mr. Hammer practically begs Skull for the time of day.. He already has a loyal blonde at his feet. Besides, Hawkeye is a more.. receptive hero.. Sometimes, Skull believes it’s time to broaden his horizons. Let go of the past, only then can you prosper fully..

Red Skull is extremely starved and he doesn’t know it at all. He’s pent up, and the fucking idiot has no idea. He doesn’t know how much he longs for romantic and sexual attention. No fucking clue that he often day dreams about a proper Hydra wedding.. Does he stare at the male heroes? He can’t tell.. He doesn’t get lost in eyes, nor get flushed within certain arms. His heart refuses to flutter at many voices.. Skull doesn’t.. desire to dance with someone.. after a delightful dinner.. under the moon.. He doesn’t realize how lonely he truly is.

Skull did indeed freeze in the ice with Steve. Both crashed during that flight, and both were frozen staring at each other for years.. According to Steve, it was a very intimate encounter..

I really like Johann with the Tesseract, soooo I’m keeping it! It acts sort of like Jarvis, but it doesn’t speak. All it does it glow and display images for Skull. The Tesseract can hint at the future and give Skull advice. It’s a very friendly artifact! Though, has a bias towards Johann due to the very kind treatment Skull gives it!

Halloween Movie viewings, 2022

I started with Dracula. I actually watched Coppola's film in September, and have been receiving my Dracula Daily emails. I also started in on the Dracula TV series from 2013. Here are my thoughts for Dracula Week:

The Coppola film still holds up.

All the effects are in-camera and gorgeous.

Whole scenes are straight out of the book and a large amount of the dialogue is, as well.

Everyone is *so young* in it.

Oh dear God, is this why everyone since then goes galloping for the "Tragic romance" angle?

Dracula's Brides are still my favorite part.

Dracula, the series 2013-14, is the one we call "Sexy Dracula" in my house. So pretty! So fanfic worthy!

Jonathan Rhys gets my vote for New Tony Stark. (Looked him up on Wikipedia; alcoholic. Oh dear)

Weird, wild take on the whole story. Makes no bones about the fact that they're doing an AU.

COSTUME POOOOOHHHRRNN

This is also far and away my favorite take on Renfield.

Like, for real, watch The Renfield Show because they should have just went with that.

Renfield is better written and performed than Van Helsing.

And he's a huge, lovely black man in exquisitely tailored Victorian suits.

Studied law in ST. LOUIS, met Dracula in the wild west.

The balls on this guy.

Lucy is played by Morgana and I love her.

First scene she's wearing a Rose Petal dress: white with a red bodice and falling rose petals scattered down the white skirts.

She looks like she's bleeding out and it's fucking amazing.

Mina is studying Medicine.

They've conflated her father with Seward, again. Why do they do this?

Never mind, there's a blonde woman who is a legit Vampire Slayer.

Who Dracula keeps distracting with his dick

The ending is... Weird. All the hallmarks of having it cut short.

I will write a better ending.

Reading Dracula Daily, it brings into sharp focus how no one ever gets Jonathan Harker right. Jesus, he needs to be a damn action star. (Coppola! You had KEANU REEVES and you insisted on a milquetoast performance!?!)

I want to see Jonathan with both The Shovel, and the Kukri knife. Goddamn it.
