Whenever I see viral posts about making more queer art that "isn't about suffering" I feel kind of bitter ngl. So many wholesome and diverse queer pieces of media come and go and get lambasted online for basically nothing just like the edgy stuff does so I think actually none of you know what you want.

they weren't kidding in the post that's like "me reading my own fic: wow this caters to all of my specific needs" because i keep rereading my own writing and giggling for this exact reason

#they also weren't kidding when they said that creating things with your own hands and brains #really does bring joy incomparable to mindless media consumption!#anyway back to business i do actually have a longer odazai fic that's been brewing for months but that one takes more planning and research #i only have a 1k draft of the introduction written down so the rest will have to be a post-exams summer holiday project #it's the long goodbye AU i've mentioned before #i think i'll make it vaguely historical (either 1930s like the original book or 1970s like the movie adaptation)#although that would be purely for aesthetic and not really affect the plot in any way. i just want to have some raymond chandler references #in there especially when i'm not skilled enough to emulate his writing style #wait no actually the lack of mobile phones and high tech surveillance could actually work in my favour #well anyway not now. i need to study for exams first jhjfdhkjdhg
