remembering fondly when i witnessed someone claim in all apparent seriousness that david mckay's elevation to lds prophet was groundbreaking for mormonism's presence in the mainstream because he was the first prophet to have neither plural wives nor...a beard.

I’m european but I did a year abroad as a teenager to the US and I lived in the south of Idaho for a year and we went to utah a lot and honestly the national parks in the area are really nice (yellowstone, grand teton and arches were my favorites) and the people were nice enough (I’m white and european and they didn’t know I was queer) but given the absolute vitriol people were comfortable spewing in public I would not recommend for anyone to move there. also mormons not drinking doesn’t mean they’re normal about alcohol at all, they still bring it up all the time to seemingly feel superior to people around them. also I knew multiple families took in foreign exchange students and then tried to push them to mormonism to the point where the organisation we travelled with said the students aren’t allowed to convert religions while they’re there (these were 16 year old kids in a foreign country living with people they don’t know super well so they’re in very vulnerable postions). Overall how pushy they were about their religion was incredibly uncomfortable to experience. that paired with the casual bigotry I saw there every day was really eye opening and there’s a reason why I’ve only kept in touch with a handful of people, none of whom are practising mormons

that doesn't really surprise me with what I know about mormonism, definitely seems like the kind of place that's nice for a visit to see some sights but I really could not imagine living somewhere that the religion is really ingrained into the culture, especially any religion with an emphasis on proselytising

I never tried a deep fried oreo but they sound like a summer jam for the tastebuds! I did have some chocolate dipped oreos once and they were like heaven

i don’t tend to get jealous or angry at stuff, especially when it has to do with people just kind of existing.

for example, being poly was fairly easy for me to do, i’m aware that i’m not the only thing in a partner’s life, even if i want to be a big part of it.

i also don’t believe in astrology, the way i conceive of myself and carry myself through my life is kinda incompatible with it. but at the same time, i’m not exactly gonna go picking fights about it, what good would that do me?

Believe and repent of your sins and God will forgive you and cleanse you by Jesus blood from all your sins and unrighteousness and then make you born again by His Holy Spirit ( John 3).
