It has been one week since you saw Matt Murdock on the evening news, and it feels like it has been a complete whirlwind. First, you reintroduced yourself to him and let him know he was a father, then you had a nice little outing, and to tie it all up, a trip to the doctors to confirm what you already knew.
Matthew Murdock is the father of your daughter.
It is nice to have an official statement from a doctor and now you can start the process of changing Minnie's paperwork to include his name. You have to go to the courthouse to file for an updated birth certificate. Matt has very kindly offered to take that task on for you - he goes to the courthouse often for his job and he knows the ins-and-outs of navigating legal paperwork. You just have to go and drop off the right documentation.
You had a brief call last night, after Minnie had been put down, and decided that you would visit his office today to do just that. You are going to kill two birds with one stone - hand over what needs to be filed and give Matt more time with his daughter.
To your great surprise, your timid little Mouse absolutely adores him. She was not happy to have to be at the doctor's office yesterday and was on the verge of tears before he showed up. Her whole mood shifted, and she had spent the brief time you were in the waiting room and exam room telling Matt about different things around them.
You have a feeling, when you sit down and tell her the truth, she is going to be thrilled.
You told her that you are going to visit Matt at work today, and all morning she has been hunched over her sketchbook making pictures for him while you try to get in some hours at work. Try being the key word, as you've been thoroughly distracted by today's news cycle.
You were half listening to a puff piece about something or other when breaking news flashed across the screen. A neighborhood in Connecticut has been leveled by some sort of explosion, killing hundreds. They don't know if it was an accident or some sort of attack - the epicenter of the blast was a school, so it could potentially be either. You pray it was a freak accident, some faulty pipeline or a weird meteor, because the world doesn't need any more horribleness in it.
The idea that it might have been an attack makes you nervous. You've been through two horrible attacks on New York, and you didn't realize another big event so close to home would shake you so hard.
It scares you that you have to raise Minnie in such a harsh world, where monsters of all kinds are very very real and you don't know who you can rely on. The police and government have been shown to be all kinds of corrupt and people who can shoot laser beams fight each other in the skies.
You end up clocking out and going to sit with Minnie to get yourself to stop your doom-listening. She's got a few drawings scattered around the table and you pick up the one closest to you, smiling at her handy work.
You recognize the shapes as her interpretation of people - oblongs with stick arms and noodle legs. Unknowingly, she's made her first new family portrait. There are three blob-people all holding hands: you suspect you're the big orange one with a smile, Minnie is the little pink one in the middle with what you guess are pigtails, and Matt is the black one with red eyes, who is also holding a stick. To confirm, you ask her.
"Is this one Mister Matt?"
Her head shoots up and a big grin spreads across her face, "Yeah!  And that's you and that's me and we're gonna go to the zoo!" There is a little flurry of motion and suddenly you are getting a picture show. She holds up the paper she was working on - there's another family drawing, but this time there's green scribbles all around you and a blue square with zig zags all over it. You guess that is some sort of animal.
"You want to go to the zoo with Mister Matt?" You ask, examining her masterpiece.
"Yeah!" She says, pulling over another picture that you know are her versions of flowers, even if they are all different colors. "And the park!"
"And the park? Wow, that's a lot of things to do. Do you want to ask him if he wants to go to the zoo with us when we see him today?" Minnie eagerly nods at the question and that makes you smile. "Okay, we can invite him to the zoo. When are we going to the zoo?"
The question makes her bounce in excitement, "My birthday!"
You laugh at her enthusiasm and give her a little back rub, "Exactly. We're going to go for your birthday. And get a big cake with whatever you want on it." That makes her a giggly mess and you temporarily forget all the bad things in the world.
You hand her back her drawing before kissing the top of her hair, "How about you finish this one up and we get ready to go see Mister Matt? We can only visit for a little bit, because he's working, but I bet he'll love everything you made him."
Greedy little hands take back the paper and instantly Mouse is hunched back over her zoo scene, purple crayon in hand. You get up and go to make sure that you have everything you need to bring to Matt in order. You are extremely lucky that the doctor has the ability to print out things in Braille, so you don't need to make an extra stop to get things translated.
You debate bringing Matt lunch, but ultimately decide against it. You don't want to push too much too fast, and you think it might be a little weird for his coworkers, to see a random person bring him homemade lunch. You know he hasn't told anyone yet about yourself and Minnie - he had shyly admitted it didn't feel real until the test results were given and you completely get it.
You tidy up until you spy Mouse dropping her crayons into her bucket and cleaning up her drawing area. You let her do her thing, then approach, "Let's put your drawings with the other things we need to give Mister Matt. That way they won't get lost or wrinkled."
She nods like you've just said something very wise and gathers up her stack of papers before handing them over. There's five in total; the three she showed you and two more full of colorful lines. You decide you'll listen in on her explanation to Matt on those two, as you're curious as to what goes on in her little mind.
Once everything is safe and ready to go, it's just a matter of getting shoes on. You go with your sensible sneakers while Minnie opts for her frog themed Wellingtons. The plan is for both of you to walk to the office, and after one final wallet-keys-phone check in your purse, you head out hand-in-hand.
It's mid-morning, so foot traffic is decent, but not heavy - nothing that makes Minnie too uncomfortable. Dark clouds are gathering on the horizon, and it makes you wonder if the rain that has been promised in the forecast will be coming sooner than expected and you are glad this outing is the only one you have planned. Taking Minnie around in the rain is never fun. It always seems like everything becomes more bustling in the rain and trying to navigate that with a crying toddler just makes you want to cry as well.
But the promise of her new favorite person and mild weather has her walking like the born and bred New Yorker she is - a determined little pout with no nonsense steps. No one will be trying to sell her things on the sidewalks once she gets bigger. If she had a different personality, you'd want to teach her to say "Hey, I'm walking here" just to hear a toddler say it.
As you spy the building Matt's office is in, you realize you should have sent him a text to say you were on your way. You did let him know vaguely what time you planned to stop by and he had assured you that they had no appointments - it was catch up on paperwork day - but that didn't mean walk-in clients hadn't come by. You're so close to already being there that you think the gesture is pointless, so you just keep walking until you get to the building.
"This is where we are going," you tell Minnie as you approach. You scoop her up to show her the business directory on the outside of the building. There aren't very many plaques to begin with, so it's easy to find the Nelson, Murdock, and Page one. "That is where Mister Matt works with his friends."
She leans out and feels over the embossed sign, running her fingers over the different letters. "'M'! For Minnie!" She says, pointing out the letter with a big smile.
"Exactly. Mister Matt's last name starts with M, too. That word is his last name - Murdock."
That gets her to turn back to the sign, fingers dancing over the letters, brows knitting with curiosity, "How is it spelled?"
You spell out Murdock for her and Minnie repeats each letter after you. You do this a few times until she's able to say it out loud on her own. You don't know how long she'll retain the information, as spelling isn't really on the board yet, but you're happy she's interested. You set her back down and she makes a beeline up the steps, grabbing and pulling at the door with all her three-year-old strength.
The lobby to the building is sparse, with basically only an elevator and staircase, with a door to what you suspect is a supply closet. "We're going up two staircases," you tell your daughter.
"Two!" She confirms before taking off towards the stairs. You have a brief moment of panic that she's going to zip up both sets faster than you can catch her, but to your great amusement, she grabs a hold of the banister with both hands and pretends to use it like a mountaineering rope to climb the stairs. She even adds little fake huffs and puffs. You follow behind her, ready to catch her if she slips. She doesn't, and when you get to the floor Matt's office is on, she turns to beam at you, clearly proud of herself, "We did it!"
"We did it," you parrot, offering out your hand again. She takes it and you lead her to the correct door. The same plaque that was on the exterior of the building also hangs beside their door and Minnie astutely points to it.
"Murdock!"
"That's right, it says Nelson, Murdock, and Page."
"Can I knock?" Mouse asks, raising her fist to do just that.
You hum, then gently explain, "This is business, which means work. For work, we don't have to knock. We can go in if it is open."
As soon as you say that she's opening the door and marching inside and you quickly follow her.
Matt's law partners, Foggy and Karen, are in the reception area with a man you assume is a client of theirs, talking in hushed annoyed sounding whispers. He radiates intimidation, with a huge black eye and what looks to be a makeshift cast made of duct tape around his right wrist. The three of them turn to look at you and you get the sense Minnie had the right idea in asking if she should knock first.
Your little one quickly latches onto your leg, turning timid in the space of a second and you can't really blame her. Part of you wants to turn and run.
Karen recovers first, breaking away from the two exasperated men to step towards you and going into receptionist mode, "Hi. You were here last week to meet with Matt, right?"
"Uh, yes, that's right. Is he, uh, available?" You ask, feeling like you no longer know how to speak English. The energy in the room is not a pleasant one and you very much feel like you've interrupted something important.
"He's on a call currently but I'll let him know you are here," Karen replies in a voice far kinder than what she uses to address the men behind her a beat later. She turns to them and points to the office you know is not Matt's. "In there. Now."
Foggy throws up his hands, like he's frustrated with whatever is going on and disappears into the other room. The man you don't know doesn't follow, eyes on you and your daughter as Karen crosses the room to knock on Matt's door before opening it and slipping into the office. You quickly decide you are not going to make eye contact with him, instead ducking your head and putting a comforting hand on Minnie's head. She's practically hidden herself behind your legs, clinging to your pants so tightly you fear they might rip.
"I like your boots," the man says into the quietness. You expect him to sound like gravel, but his gruff voice is rather soft, and you get the feeling he understands how to talk to children "My daughter used to have boots like those."
Part of you wants to tell the man to not talk to your daughter, but that would be rude and just because he looks like he's been through the ringer doesn't mean he's a bad man. You decide to let her determine how she wants to proceed.
You feel Minnie poke her head out from where she's hidden herself. At first, you don't think she's going to reply, as you know how she is, but she surprises you yet again by mumbling out, "They're froggies."
"Yeah? You like frogs?"
Mouse somehow tightens her grip, "I like animals." She presses her face against your leg, then admits, a little louder, "we're gonna to the zoo for my birthday."
That makes the man smile, and that changes his whole demeanor. Suddenly he looks friendly and kind and not like he's likely to stab you, "That's a good place to go for your birthday. How old are you gonna be?"
Before she can respond, the door to Matt's office swings open and Karen stalks out, followed by Matt, who seems much less agitated than everyone else. The blonde points to the unknown man, a little scowl on her face, "What did I say?"
The man holds up his hands defensively, stepping away from Karen and towards the office he was previously told to go in, "Alright, alright, I'm going. I'm going." That doesn't seem to help soothe her at all, as she grabs the man by the bicep and frog-marches him to join Foggy, closing the door behind them.
"They didn't make you wait long, did they?" Matt asks, bringing your attention back to him. There is a cut on his lip that wasn't there the last time you saw him, and your instinct is to ask if he is okay, but you don't know if you are at that level with him yet.
So instead, you address his question, "No, no, we just got here."
He motions back to his office, a smile spreading across his face, and you almost forget about the cut, "Come on back and we can review everything."
Minnie lets go of your pants only to take your hand again and you lead her into the other room. As you pass Matt, she looks up at him and gives a tiny wave.
"Hi, Mister Matt."
Matt's shoulders visibly relax at her greeting, and you can't help but start to smile, "Hi, sweetheart. How are you doing today?"
"Good! I maded you pictures," she says proudly. That causes him to pause as he starts to follow you into his office. You can tell he is surprised by the news - his voice gets a little choked up when he responds.
"You made me some pictures?"
"They are very good pictures," you advise, squeezing Minnie's hand slightly before letting go, "Do you want to tell Mister Matt what you drew for him?" She nods eagerly, so you point to one of the chairs in front of his desk. "Go sit like a big girl and you can tell him."
She makes a dash for the chair, and you take the time to address Matt, "I'm sorry, I should have called ahead."
He shakes his head, and as he walks past you to go behind the desk, he reaches out and brushes his hand along your arm. A little shiver runs up your spine at the touch and you tell yourself the action was so he could orient himself. "Not a problem, I knew you were coming. How is everything?"
"Everything is good," you reply, a little shyer than you intend to. "I, uh, have everything for you. Is there anything else I need to fill out?"
Matt shakes his head, "Just a signature and date. You've done all the work for me already. I don't think I've ever had to file where I don't need to actually do anything but sign the document. It's a refreshing change."
"Do you know how long it will take to process?" You ask as you move to join Minnie in sitting. "The website gave multiple timelines and I just want to be realistic."
Matt takes his seat with a cocky grin, "Not long at all, I know a few judges I can ask to push it through."
You flush at the idea of him asking a favor to a judge on your account, "That's not necessary, Matt, I don't mind waiting."
He shakes his head, getting that soft look again, "I don't want to wait. I want it to be official in the eyes of the government."
His words make you feel even warmer, and you distract yourself by pulling the file with all the paperwork out of your purse and pass it over to him. "Minnie's additions are at the bottom of the stack. The last five pages"
His fingers twitch slightly, and you wonder if he wants to flip right to those. You get your answer quickly.
"Minnie, is it okay if I go over the paperwork with your mom before you tell me about your pictures?"
"It's okay!" She replies, her voice much more cheerful now that you are alone with Matt. "Do you needs help?"
Her sweetness makes Matt smile more and he shakes his head, "Not right now, sweetheart. I need to read, and I can do that with my fingers, but after that you can help with some other things."
"Okay," she says happily, kicking her feet a little bit.
You catch her attention and motion to your purse, "Do you want a toy while you wait?"
She shakes her head and beams up at you, "No thank you, I'm a big girl!"
Both you and Matt chuckle at her declaration and he moves to open the file.
"There's multiple copies of everything," you tell him as you move onto business, "One printed text and one in Braille for the courts and the same for you. I have the same at home, as well. They are bundled in packets. The court papers are on top, Braille first."
He thanks you then begins to read the forms. Mouse sits up straighter in her chair to try and see what he is doing. She can just peek over the edge, and she watches in fascination as his fingers move over the pages. You wait quietly, not wanting to distract in any way.
"Everything appears to be in order. We will just need a signature," Matt says after a minute.
"Should I do that now?" You ask. The response is him offering you a pen, so you lean in to sign the various forms. As you set each document aside, Matt adds his own signature. It is silly how giddy you feel just having the forms finally completed. You don't know how long you've had just blank copies, waiting to be filed.
"And done," Matt says with a final flick of his pen on the last page. "I'm going to the courthouse on Tuesday, so I'll get it processed then. I'll push to get an updated certificate as quickly as possible."
You have to bite your lip to keep from smiling like a crazy person. This isn't some dream or far off fantasy. Matt isn't just saying he wants to be Minnie's father. He is following through, with urgency. This is something he wants and it's almost surreal for you - you are so used to promises being broken and no one being on the same page as you in your desires. Even if this is all for Minnie and not for you, it is still on the edge of overwhelming for you.
You never thought you'd be so happy over paperwork.
"Thank you, Matt," you whisper, leaning back into your seat to sit properly.
Immediately, Minnie parrots you, thanking Matt even though she has no idea what is going on.
"No, thank you. Thank you both," he says, and you wonder if he is also holding back from smiling. He gathers the papers and sets them aside before running his fingers over the folder you gave him and addressing his daughter. "Okay, sweetheart. Do you want to come tell me what you drew?"
You expect Minnie to stand on the chair and even prepare yourself to balance her, but that does not happen. She hops down and scurries around the desk to be at Matt's side and a moment later, he is pushing his chair back and she is climbing up into his lap. Embarrassment rushes through you - she's only ever behaved like this with you. She actually used to fuss and cry if anyone else tried to hold her. You haven't seen her sit in anyone else's lap since she had a say in who gets to hold her.
"Minnie!" You scold but Matt quickly shakes his head as he helps her up.
"It's okay, I don't mind," he tells you even though he looks completely shocked. If he wasn't her father, you wouldn't allow this, especially with someone so new to her, but he is her father, even if she doesn't know, so you don't tell her to get down.
Instead, you give a stern frown, "Minnie, you still need to ask before climbing on anyone, okay? Can you apologize?"
Your little girl nods, then looks up at him, "I'm sorry, Mister Matt."
"It's okay, sweetheart. Like I said, I don't mind, but your Mommy is right, and you should ask so I know you are there. Next time, you'll know. Now, your Mommy said there were five pictures. Which do you want to start with?" He asks, scooting his chair back to the desk while wrapping one arm around Minnie's waist to keep her secure.
Once she's able to, she leans in and picks up the first drawing in the stack. It is the family portrait, and you quickly get your phone out so you can record this interaction as Minnie lays out the picture. She then takes Matt's free hand and guides it to the paper before letting go to point at the circle that represents him.
"This is you," she tells him. He quickly finds where she is pointing and begins to trace the figure.
"That's me?" And there is definitely more than a little bit of emotion in his voice.
"Uh-huh, and that is me and Mommy and we're gonna go to see the duckies. Mommy said we can go again. But we're gonna get ice cream too. And a balloon," she says, moving her little finger all over the page.
You watch Matt's finger follow hers - first over the doodle of himself, then Minnie's, and finally yours. Then, he traces back to the center figure. "We're holding hands?" He asks tentatively.
"Yup!" She answers, popping the p. "Mommy says we gotta hold hands if we go outside."
Matt licks his lips a little and you see his muscles flex under his jacket as he holds Minnie a little more firmly to his chest, like he doesn't want to let go of her. "That's a good rule."
"Mommy makes good rules," your little one replies wisely. That makes your ego sing a little. Mouse has always been good at doing what she's told, and you are proud that she understands your rules keep her safe.
Before she moves onto the next picture, you gently prompt her. "Sweetie, was there something you wanted to ask Mister Matt?"
Matt's head jerks up at that, looking right to you with brows slightly knit. Minnie bounces in his lap just a little, squirming so she can turn to look up at him, "I'm gonna go to the zoo! For my birthday! Do you wanna go?"
His lips part in surprise at the question and before you know it, he has both his arms wrapped around Mouse, hugging her to him. She instantly responds, looping her little arms around his neck and squeezing back. He rests his cheek against her head, and you see him slightly rock her from side to side. "I would love to go with you to the zoo, sweetheart."
Minnie giggles into his neck and you one hundred percent know that the transition to suddenly having two parents is not going to be hard for her at all. It might be confusing because Matt won't be living with you, but you have never seen her so comfortable with someone who isn't you. You know it's not just because he gave her a toy. They just click together so well.
You switch from video to your camera so you can sneak as many pictures as you can of Matt and Minnie hugging. They've completely forgotten about you and that is a-okay.
In this moment, nothing else matters to you - not the strange man in the other office or the devastation a few states over or all the other trivial things that nag you and make your stomach turn.
Your world is right in front of you and for the first time in a very, very long time, you really, truly believe everything is going to be just fine.

Whumptober Day 4: Shock, “I see the danger, it’s written there in your eyes”
We had to get to the bloody ones eventually—
This was originally going to be standalone, but one thing led to another and I think there’s going to be another part at some point. I couldn’t make it longer and I’m very stuck on the idea hehe
Warnings: blood & injury, specifically a stab wound, and just general battle violence and injuries
Read it on ao3
————————————————————
“Ugh, wizzrobes again?” Legend grumbled as he slid under a bolt of electricity. “We just fought some of these clowns yesterday! Did the Shadow just give up on originality?”
“Less complaining, more fighting!” Warriors shouted at him from nearby, and Legend rolled his eyes.
“Less criticism and more fighting!” Hyrule called back with a mischievous look, and Legend almost laughed, though it turned into a yelp when he dodged another bolt of magic.
Wizzrobes were such a pain.
Especially Wild’s.
Warriors shouted at him again, but this time it was a warning, and Legend deftly jumped away from a blast of ice that would have frozen him solid. He nodded a thanks at the captain, and went back to trying to defeat the wizzrobes, which was nearly impossible with how crazily they moved.
Legend dodged a fireball, and quickly turned and shot a blast of ice at the offending monster. It shrieked, and disappeared into a puff of smoke, and Legend swapped out his ice rod for a fire rod, and did the same to another.
The different rods seemed to work well, and along with the others all fighting together, soon there was only one wizzrobe left. It was in a color Legend hadn’t seen before though, and he looked at it suspiciously.
“Yours come in purple now?” he called behind him towards where he knew Wild was sniping.
“I’ve never seen one like that before!” Wild called back, voice uncertain. “I don’t know what it—”
As he spoke, the wizzrobe grinned, letting out a deranged cackle as it shot a huge burst of magic into the sky. Purple lights flashed, and a glowing ball fell from them, dropping down into the clearing and exploding into blinding light before anyone could do a thing.
Legend yelped and covered his face with his shield, but the magic still knocked him off his feet and onto the ground. It shook into his limbs and up to his face, his vision going white and spotty. It didn’t... hurt, exactly, but something about it felt all mixed up inside of him, jolting through his body and limbs, and he felt rather discombobulated.
“Legend!”
The sensation abruptly faded, and he felt arms tugging at him. Legend gingerly opened his eyes, almost surprised he could see at all, and looked up, meeting Hyrule’s worried gaze. The traveler was looking down at him with wide eyes, and Legend blinked a few times to get the last few spots of white out of his vision.
“Are you okay?” Hyrule asked, looking him over worriedly, “you were closest to that beam, it felt like an explosion went off.”
“Fine, fine,” Legend coughed, then gingerly pulled himself up to a sitting position. “Think it was just... magic. I don’t even think it did anything to me.”
“Nothing?” Hyrule asked suspiciously, and Legend shook his head.
“No. Is everyone else okay? Where’d that wizzrobe go?”
“I haven’t checked yet, but since you’re fine I would guess they’ll be—”
An arrow slammed into the ground right between Legend’s feet.
He jumped, and in one swift movement was on his feet with his shield out, back to back with Hyrule as he looked for the enemy who’d shot. He scanned the field as he looked for where his sword had gone to, then he froze, and stared at who had fired the arrow.
Wild stood across the clearing, his bow drawn with an arrow nocked in Legend’s direction. His brows were lowered as he stared at the veteran, stance unusually firm, and something about the way he held himself just screamed danger.
Legend flicked his eyes around, and felt his breath leave him as he saw Warriors and Sky both staring at him as well, swords drawn and angled towards him in a threatening gesture. Time stood on Legend’s other side, claymore raised as he stared silently at the veteran, and Legend’s heart skipped a beat.
He and Hyrule were surrounded. By their own teammates.
No, Legend realized with a dawning horror, sunlight glinting proudly off Time and Warriors’ armor, no not my teammates.
Knights.
“Captain? What’s going on?” Twilight asked nearby, Wind and Four looking equally confused next to him.
“Traitor to the crown,” Warriors said in a low voice, eyes never blinking.
“You kidnapped the princess,” Wild added in a growl.
“We have our orders,” Sky said in a smooth voice, and raised the Master Sword accusingly. “Dead or alive.”
Legend couldn’t breathe.
“Don’t be crazy!” Wind said in disbelief, looking at Time and Warriors with a shocked expression. “Legend didn’t do anything! What’s wrong with you guys?!”
“The wizzrobe,” Four said with a sharp inhale. “That attack must have done something to make them think he’s the enemy.”
“Time, please, you know Legend, he hasn’t done anything wrong,” Twilight said gently, inching towards him. But Time stopped him with a firm glare, his sword never lowering. The knights all took a step closer to Legend, and he felt Hyrule stiffen at his back.
“Legend, you need to run,” Hyrule whispered. “Now.”
Legend couldn’t move.
Suddenly he was eleven again, staring at a wanted poster with his face on it, wondering why the reward was so high. He was eleven, screamed at by the townsfolk, and surrounded by guards just for trying to walk into the village to buy food on his quest. He was eleven, chased down by brainwashed knights and forced to fight them, some of them people he knew, his uncle’s friends, raise his uncle’s sword against them and hurt them—
“Legend RUN!”
He snapped back into himself just in time to avoid a thrust from Warriors, and Hyrule grabbed his wrist when he merely stared at the weapon that had almost killed him, pulling him away.
“Come back you traitor!” Warriors shouted, and Legend blinked, able only to watch in numb shock as Four and Twilight leapt to defend him, Hyrule still dragging him away.
Sky leapt forward, then cried out as the Master Sword fell from his grip, sparking as she was about to be used against one of her own. Wind took the opportunity to tackle him, and Legend watched blankly as the sailor wrestled Sky’s pouch away from him so he couldn’t grab any more weapons.
“Don’t hurt them!” Wind cried out, still struggling with Sky, “they’re not themselves!”
“Keep them away from Legend!” Twilight shouted as he crossed swords with Warriors, the captain swinging his blade with fierce strokes.
Hyrule nodded, and blocked a slew of arrows from plunging into Legend’s chest, then yanked him behind his back as he avoided a huge swing from Time.
“You’ve betrayed us all!” Time spat, and Hyrule crossed blades with him, nearly driven to his knees by the force of it. “You’re nothing but a false hero, poisoning the land with your lies!”
The words were like a knife, and Legend could only watch in blank shock, stunned as Hyrule struggled against Time, as Twilight and Warriors still fought against each other, Wind nearly getting punched in the face by Sky while Four tried desperately to get close enough to Wild to stop him from sniping them all down—
“Legend! Snap out of it!” Hyrule shouted as he somehow managed not to be lopped in two by another of Time’s swings. “You’re going to get killed, wake up!”
He wasn’t sure if it was the phrase or the desperation in Hyrule’s voice, but Legend finally snapped into action, firmly shaking himself. You can freak out later when half of your team isn’t trying to kill you!
Legend dove for his gilded sword, but hissed at the warning spark he felt as he grabbed it. Sometimes he forgot his blade was another version of the Master Sword, upgraded and changed, but at times like these it was impossible.
I’m not going to hurt them, I’m only defending myself, he begged as it got hotter, still stubbornly holding on even as his hands began to burn. Please, you know I’m not!
The hilt scorched his hands, and Legend was forced to shove it into its sheathe, grabbing in his pouch for a backup sword. Before he could though, something swung towards him, and he only barely got his shield up in time to block it.
The strike threw him to the ground for the second time today, and Legend nearly had the breath knocked out of him. His eyes widened as Wild raised a claymore of some kind to strike him with, and he just barely managed to roll out of the way of another hit.
“Champion I don’t want to have to hurt you,” he gritted out, but Wild didn’t reply.
His face was eerily closed-off as he tried to hit him, strikes almost clinically precise. Legend had to dodge all over the place, and he still got a shallow cut on his arm. Not to mention his hands were smarting from trying to use the gilded sword, and every time a hit rang out against his shield, he had to bite his lip to keep from crying out.
Wild swung again, and Legend gritted his teeth and used his backup sword to shove the champion backwards, then grabbed for his ice rod again. His aching fingers closed around it, but then he felt his entire body freeze in place, yellow shining in his vision.
He couldn’t move. He couldn’t defend himself. He couldn’t do anything, and he suddenly realized that Wild must have used the stasis rune on his slate on him.
No, no no no no no—
Before he could panic too much, the magic broke, and Legend stumbled, thrown off-balance. He looked around in surprise, then saw Four standing next to him, having frozen Wild’s feet to the ground with Legend’s own dropped ice rod.
He could only stare at him for a second, and startled as Four yanked him behind his shield, blocking the arrows Wild was shooting at them again.
“Should have gotten his arms too,” he cursed, then turned towards Legend. “Vet, they’re all after you, you need to go find that wizzrobe and beat it. That should break the magic, I think it’s our best bet. We can keep them all busy while you go.”
“But— you’re outnumbered,” Legend said a bit hysterically, his panic over the whole situation starting to come back, “not in numbers but skill, have you ever seen Sky and the captain duel? Not to mention the old man, he could probably take on all of you at once—”
Four put a hand on his arm, and gave him a small smile as he raised his sword.
“I can get us some more help. But you need to go.”
Legend swallowed, but he knew Four was right, and gave him a nod as he grabbed his ice rod and bolted in the direction he’d last seen the wizzrobe.
He suddenly felt like he was eleven again.
He caught sight of Hyrule as he ran, the traveler using his magic to stay away from Time’s deadly swings. He had blood on his leg, but his face was as determined as ever, and he firmly blocked Time from following when the older hero saw Legend running away.
“Coward!” he heard shouted behind him, but Legend kept running despite the sting it left in his chest.
He bolted past Twilight, who had an arrow in his arm and multiple other injuries, but was continuing to fight anyway, blocking Warriors’ strikes with a grieved look, almost like he’d been forced to do this before. Wind was still wrestling with Sky, fists flying as the Skyloftian tried desperately to get his weapons back, but Wind was determined to keep him down.
Every instinct of Legend’s was screaming at him to turn around and fight, help his friends, his brothers, he had so many items that could help them— but he forced himself to continue, ignoring a pained cry when he heard it.
Legend was smart enough to realize the only way they would all get out of this alive would be if he broke the curse. They couldn’t stand against some of the best fighters of their group forever— it was only a matter of time before someone was seriously hurt.
But no matter how many times he told himself that, it still felt like he was abandoning them.
This is the only way to help right now. You’re not leaving them, you’re doing what needs to be done.
If you stayed here, you would only make their job more difficult.
Legend searched desperately through the trees for a flash of purple, hoping desperately the wizzrobe was still in the area.
He had no way of knowing if he was looking in the right spot or not. For all he knew, the wizzrobe was long gone, but he kept looking, even as the clashing of swords still rang in his ears, and a scream that sounded a bit like Four echoed nearby.
Legend bit down on his lip so hard he tasted blood, and ignored the stinging that had started up in his eyes as he searched.
The others were back there somewhere, fighting against their brothers, risking their lives, all for him, to keep him safe, and he’d frozen and barely helped them and now he couldn’t even find the stupid wizzrobe.
“Come on! Come out and fight me!” he screamed, voice breaking a little. “Are you afraid? Because you better be!”
A giggle flitted through the trees, and Legend shot a blast of ice out, the laughter only growing.
Purple weaved through the foliage, and Legend shot another blast out, obviously missing due to the giggle he overheard. He knew his emotions were making him sloppy, and Legend forced himself to steady his hand. He breathed out, lowering his weapon and acting as if he was unaware of where the wizzrobe was.
Come on, take the bait...
A giggle erupted in his face, and Legend thrust out his ice rod, making the wizzrobe scream as it was launched backwards. It fell to the ground, stuck solidly in a chunk of ice, and Legend pulled out his fire rod, prepared to burn it to a crisp.
Then something hit him in the side, and he went flying, crying out as he fell to the grass.
His side ached where he’d been hit, and before he could move, what felt like a foot stepped down on his chest, pressing against his doubtlessly bruised ribs and stopping him from getting up. Legend opened his eyes and saw Warriors staring silently down at him, sword raised to pierce him through.
Somehow he’d gotten past the others.
“Wars— Warriors don’t,” Legend choked out, struggling to catch his breath. “Link, please I’m not your enemy!”
“You’re a traitor,” Warriors said in a cold voice, still not blinking. He had blood running down his face from a cut over his eye, but his face showed no sign of pain. “My orders are clear.”
“Captain wake up!” Legend shouted, terror rising in his throat. “You’re not yourself, you’d never hurt any of us, snap out of it!”
Warriors didn’t react in the slightest, and raised his sword.
Legend felt a burst of panic, and he shot his arm out, feeling desperately for where he’d dropped his fire rod. If he could just kill the wizzrobe, Warriors would wake up, the spell would break—
Warriors’ sword went down as Legend’s fingers closed around his rod, and he shot a desperate plume of flame towards the dazed wizzrobe.
The fire hit it right as Warriors’ sword buried itself in his middle, and Legend’s scream mixed with the wizzrobe’s, hot agony slicing into his chest. The sword was pulled out again only seconds later, but then Warriors stumbled back, the weapon dropping from his hands.
Legend barely noticed, trying not to scream again as the sword fell to the ground beside him, already feeling blood start to dampen his tunic.
Okay, okay okay easy, you’ve been stabbed before, no big deal. Just because Warriors was who did it doesn’t change a thing, put pressure on it, you need to put pressure—
His chest burned and Legend couldn’t hold back a cry, taking thick breaths through his nose.
Goddesses please, not like this, he’ll never forgive himself.
“L-Legend?” Warriors said dizzily, shaking his head as he tried to clear it. He put a hand to his forehead, and blinked several times, wiping blood from his face with a confused look. “Vet, what...”
Then his eyes focused, and he noticed the stab wound in his chest.
“LEGEND!”
Warriors dropped to his knees beside him, and Legend couldn’t help but jerk away from him, nearly shrieking as the captain immediately pressed his hands to his middle, trying to stem the flow.
“Legend don’t move, what happened how did this...”
Warriors trailed off as his gaze landed on his bloodied sword, and every bit of color drained from his face as he recognized it as his own.
“Legend?” he said shakily, and Legend swallowed, unable to stop himself from meeting his eyes.
A sword was abruptly pressed to Warriors’ neck, and Legend watched dizzily as Twilight forced the captain back, the look in his eyes equally furious and horrified. Warriors jerked like he wanted to go back to Legend, but he raised his arms in surrender, and moved back as Hyrule dropped to his side. More of the Links rushed into the clearing around Legend, but Warriors only had eyes for him, confusion and horror shining bright.
Hyrule’s hands pressed against his middle, and Legend sucked in another trembling breath.
“It— it’s gone,” he stuttered, and felt something warm slip past his lips. Oh that’s not good. “Wizzrobe— he’s not— not g-gonna—”
“Don’t talk Legend, you’ll be fine,” Hyrule said firmly, and Legend wasn’t sure if he imagined the tremble in his voice or not. “Just stay awake, okay? I’m gonna fix you up.”
Hyrule moved a careful hand around his chest, feeling at the injury, and Legend tensed, hissing through his teeth. Someone’s hand touched his head, and he flinched, choking as something moved in his middle.
The cold he’d been trying to ignore was growing closer now, nipping at his extremities, trying to suck him down. Legend firmly ignored the feeling, despite how easy it would be to sink into it, and focused on Hyrule’s face, blearily realizing there was blood on his shoulder. He wondered who had done that to him.
The pressure on his chest abruptly increased, and Legend couldn’t muffle his scream, so many sensations hitting him that his brain couldn’t even process it.
Then something began to trickle through his middle, something that warmed the cold that had been falling over him. Warmth blossomed in his chest, different from the hot blood that had been trickling across it, and Legend exhaled, relaxing slightly as Hyrule’s magic wove through him.
Once he could focus enough to realize Hyrule was still healing him, he reached down and grabbed his wrist, giving him a look.
“I’m good, don’t overextend yourself,” he said a little shakily, and he cut Hyrule off when he went to argue. “You already used a lot of magic, I saw you.”
“You lost a lot of blood,” Hyrule retorted.
“Well I’m not the only one who’s going to need healing,” Legend said more quietly, and Hyrule stopped, the glow fading from his hands.
Twilight appeared in his vision then, arrow still jutting from his arm, and he scanned Legend’s bloodstained middle in silence. Then he met Legend’s gaze, looking much older then he normally did.
“You definitely got the wizzrobe?” he asked seriously, and Legend nodded, his eyes suddenly heavy with exhaustion.
“It’s dead. The spell broke the moment I got it,” he said in a quiet voice. “They won’t... they’re safe.”
Oh gods I hope they are.
Twilight exhaled, and nodded, putting a hand on Legend’s arm.
“Okay. Try and get some rest, Veteran. We’ll handle things.”
“Take the literal arrow out of your arm first,” he muttered back, and a faint smile pulled at Twilight’s lips.
“We’re working on fixing everyone up. Rest. We can... we’ll figure all of this out later,” Twilight said quietly, glancing behind him at something. Legend followed his gaze, and saw Warriors sitting on a log, staring silently at the blood on his hands.
The others who’d been affected by the wizzrobe were nearby, and Sky looked like he was trying to talk to the captain, but Legend looked away as Hyrule began to bandage his middle.
Traitor!
Legend closed his eyes, and tried not to listen to any of the voices that still rang around his head, or focus on the horrified look of Warriors’ that was still seared into his mind.
He didn’t want to think about it. Any of it.

sooo.... anyone else ever wondered how different ATLA would have been if aang had been frozen at age 16 instead of age 12?
yeah... me too 😌 my new fanfic "the teenager in the iceberg" follows the events of the show, but with only aang aged up, while everyone else remains their canon age.
also...cmon....how funny is it to switch zuko and aang's iconic dialogue to "you're just a teenager!" "...so are you?"
this idea was originally inspired by the talented @allgremlinart's aged up aang drawings, so please go show them some love!!:)<3
enjoy the excerpts from chapters one and two!
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
Aang chuckled, pushing himself up with his hands on his knees. He was… taller than Katara had realised, taller than Sokka. He rubbed a hand on the back of his neck, turning to look over his shoulder at the remains of the boulder-sized chunk of ice he had just been blasted out of.  “Aang. My name’s Aang.” He hesitated, momentarily seeming to puzzle something over. “And honestly? No clue. Don’t remember how me and…Appa!” He yelped, suddenly scrambling back over the hill of ice and snow. Katara followed him without thinking, and Sokka, grumbling under his breath, followed moments later.
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
“So, you’ve brought a monster to invade the village, then? You’re some incognito Fire Nation soldier sent in as an undercover scout? Well, I’ll have you know that I’m the village’s strongest warrior, a-”
“The only warrior,” Katara chimed in, lightly elbowing Sokka’s side, earning herself a responding glare.
“The strongest warrior.” Sokka reiterated. “And I don’t much like firebenders.” He added the words pointedly.
“Ah.” Aang titled his head. “That’s a shame. Some of my closest friends are Fire Nation.”
“Of course they are,” Sokka glared, hunching over into a defensive position and adjusting his fishing spear until it pointed directly at Aang.
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
Katara still wasn’t quite sure what to make of Aang. The Water Tribe boys had always been all flashy muscles, seal-jerky breath, and overconfidence, so Katara had never seen someone move, carry themself, the way Aang did.
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
Katara had admittedly forgotten how much fun penguin sledding was. “Spirits, I haven’t done this since I was a kid!” she called to Aang as he raced past her, surprisingly skilled considering that he’d never even seen a penguin until half an hour before.
“You still are a kid!” He called back over his shoulder. “A kid who’s losing this race, badly !”
Katara’s competitive streak reared its head, her eyes narrowing as Aang stuck out his tongue. She sat up slightly, no longer gripping the penguin’s fur as tightly. “You wish!” She shouted back the words as she raised her hands, breathing deeply. Her hands moved through the positions she had practised from the few bending scrolls the tribe still held on to, and before Aang knew it, the snow in front of Katara turned to ice, and she shot past him as his own ice trail suddenly became dry snow with too much friction to slide on.
She made it to the bottom of the hill, beaming, breathing heavily. The wind had whipped her hair out of her bun, and she knew without checking that her hair must have looked like a lion-turtle’s mane. She watched as Aang made a show of drying himself off with a gust of wind that he then redirected at her, messing up her curls even more.
“You’re a cheater !” Aang gasped, mockingly clutching imaginary pearls at his throat. “I demand a rematch.”
Katara strode past him, only turning her head to cast him a smug smirk. “Maybe you’re just not as good of a penguin sledder as you thought .”
“Oh, not so fast!” Aang grabbed her wrist, tugging her back towards him, and she internally questioned why the momentary brush of their skin made her heart flip. He tried to trip her, she tried to flip him, and they both ended up on their backs in the snow, giggling, cheeks and noses bright pink from the cold.
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
“Trouble sleeping too, huh?” Aang cocked a grin, tilting his head to Katara. She kept her eyes fixed upwards, trained on the moon and the stars, worried that if she looked away, she’d end up staring into his eyes like a weirdo.
“I always feel so awake with the moon’s light on me. Sleeping under the stars has never really been a thing that works. It’s too energising, too… too much. It’s hard to explain.”
“No, no… I get it. I feel the same way in a windstorm, all those breezes and gusts of wind, it feels… exhilarating.” She watched through her peripheral vision as he looked up at the moon. “In times of war, I think we all tend to forget how spiritual bending is at its core. I’d say it’s a good thing that you’re in touch enough with the origins of your abilities to feel the moon’s pull tug at you just as much as it does on the ocean.”
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
Aang smiled back. “Now is our time to try to make up for that. I can’t bring back everyone who was hurt in this war, and you can’t bring back your mother, but together, the two-, three of us can make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.”
“I’d like that,” Katara exhaled, her breath calming down and tears dissipating. The two spent hours talking back and forth, exchanging the stories of their respective childhoods. Katara learned that Aang had invented several new bending moves and had been a big fan of fruit pies, while Aang learned that Katara had always been the bossier one between her and Sokka and that she had almost chipped a tooth on seal jerky when she was six. They continued talking back and forth in increasingly hushed tones until the world faded away under the cover of clouds and sleep.
Katara awoke to the loud shout of her brother.
“Wakey wakey, lovebirds!” he yelped, chucking a rock-hard stick of seal jerky at both of them.
“Ouch, Sokka !” Katara snapped at him, rubbing her head at the spot where she had been hit, before realising that she was leaning against Aang and immediately jumping away, blushing furiously.

As she pointed at luffy, you pulled luffy out of the ground, and you finally pulled luffy head out. And then luffy flies out, you still held on luffy. Turns to his original small size.
"This is like a comic strip." Said kaido, you both hit the ground. "Ow, ow, ow..." said luffy, "luffy! Are you alright? Ah..." Then you were stop.
When you see luffy snoring, "it was an interesting show, but aren't you couples reaching your limit after all? No?! You can't take me down." Said kaido.
Luffy breathing, "Shut up! I'm nowhere near my limit!" He said, but luffy started turning his himself and became a old man.
"Luffy!' You yelled, and you also turned back yourself, and you just passed out. "(- (Y/N)... I'm tired." Said luffy.
"Who the hell are you two?!" Kaido yelled, then kaido fell on his knee. He felt weak, luffy hits on the ground.
"Oh yeah... I was on death's door... This thing really wears us out..." he said, "Die in peace. The story of the battle you two and your crews fought will be passed down by someone." Said kaido.
"I... don't want that..." said luffy as he got up, "after we killed you, " you said, get up as well. "All that is left is bones... heheh, " luffy laughed.
You got up standing, coming next to luffy and giving him a hand. Yamato and Momonosake watch you two, "it really is (Y/N) and luffy!" Said yamato.
"Luffy hair and his clothes turned white, and (Y/N) hair turned pruple with tiny stars, her clothes turned white too. So they looked like a different person..." said yamato.
"But... their voice is fading away!" Momonosake said. (Oh yeah, I forgot to show you what outfit you're wearing, here it is)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
(It is the same that I drew, now back to the story!)
"But it's not over yet." Said luffy, "we can't put an end to it yet, right?" He said, looking at you.
You nodded your head, "momo!" You yelled. Momonosake looks at you and luffy. Remember his flashback.
"Mhm!" He said, luffy putting his fist on the ground. "Tama!" Luffy hair begins turn white,"kin'emon!" Your eyes turn red.
"Pedro!" Luffy clothes turned to white, and your turn to pruple with stars like a galaxy. Kaido smiled and laughed, "Hey, you'll die." He said.
"Do you think we are afraid of that?!" Said luffy
Then, a luffy heart began to beating to drums, and your heart began to sound like shamisen. "Beat loudly, heartbeat!" He said, "it's sound beautiful," you said as you listened to your heart.
Luffy stretches his arm so as you did, then clap your hands, making an epic sound. The ground turned to rubber, "Bring it on!" Kaido yelled.
You transform your shadows' bats, luffy do a standing crouch and run, making the ground behind him slip away.
"Yes, this is the beat I wanted!" Luffy yelled, "Look out, luffy!" Yamato yelled. Kaido hit back of head of luffy.
Tumblr media
"What?!" Yamato and Momonosake yelled, kaido was shocked. "Ouch!" Luffy screamed, "now, nightshade!" You yelled, your eyes turn to pruple and shoot out.
Nightshade:
Tumblr media
Kaido turned around and got hit, and kaido followed you. And try to hit you, but he missed, "air slash!" A bunch of wind slash came towards kaido.
Airslash:
Tumblr media
But he also got hit too, "(Y/N)! You're amazing!" Luffy yelled, smiling at you. You smiled back, then kaido behind Luffy.
And was about to smash him, but you snatched Luffy, "Oh! Thank you (Y/N)!" Luffy said, blushing.
Luffy got off, and as he came towards kaido, he stopped and kissed you onto your lips.
You got mad, "luffy! Don't tease me!" You yelled, luffy laughed. "Love you!" He yelled back.
You blush, luffy laughed. Luffy runs around kaido, 'What wrong of these love birds? Turning themselves freaks and using both colors of arms and colors of the Supreme king and queen, they're fighting so freely, affecting things other their own body.' kaido thought
'I've never seen something like this!' He thought. "Follow me! Come follow me!" Luffy yelled, kaido follows luffy.
Luffy turned around and screamed, jumping out when kaido almost smashed him. Kaido pulled ground and pulled back up.
"That’s an interesting attack!" Said luffy, luffy stretch his arm, "Gum-gum counterblow!" He yelled. Luffy pulled the ground down, and it's hit behind kaido back.
Kaido looked up and saw luffy Bounce back and forth. Luffy hits kaido stomach, and they hit behind the wal and pull back.
Luffy backs away, and his feet touch the back of the rock. "Playing games with a two love couple is really... tiresome!" Kaido yelled.
Luffy pulled himself back all the way back. "Three! Two! One! Zero!" Luffy launched himself, he swing around his arm.
Kaido pulled his hassaikai like a baseball bat. Luffy punch kaido face and through his face.
Yamato and Momonosake were surprise to see. Kaido was launched back fast and got hit by a rock. Luffy huff and turned around you.
"This is fun, isn't it? Kaido (Y/N)! You see what I just did?!" Luffy yelled, you smiled. "Yes! I did! You were amazing!" You yelled back as you came down and transformed back your human self.
Luffy smiles, "That means you're gonna kiss me!" Luffy screamed. You pause, "Huh!?" You scream.
luffy looked at you. "You know you save me from kaido, and I kiss you as reward. Then I save you, and that means you have to kiss me!" Said luffy.
You laughed at luffy, "What so funny!" Luffy question. "Nothing! Haha, just you make me so happy! Haha!" You said.
Luffy pouted at you, then you grabbed Luffy shirt and kissed him. You pulled back and luffy look at you with wide eye.
"Do that again!" Luffy yelled, you smiled. "I will till we defeat kaido," you said, luffy still pout.
"This is pretty powerfully and amusing, too! Isn't it right (Y/N)?" Luffy yelled. You fly up and luffy follow you with his arm around like a helicopter.
Yamato and Momonosake were still surprised at that point.
Luffy stopped swinging his arm and pounces on the ground. "(Y/N)! Come join me, it fun!" He yelled.
You did, "I can't make up my mind... what should I call the technique gum-gum what? Mhm... do you have any idea (Y/N)?" Luffy asked.
You think a moment, you shrug. Kaido was surprised. He is still alive. He gets up and sees you and luffy jumping.
"Gum-gum... Gum-gum..." said luffy as thinking to call his Gum-gum technique. "Who are you?" Kaido ask.
You and luffy look at kaido with a confused look. "Who the hell are you both?" He asked again, "we're us!" Luffy answered.
Zunesha looks at the kaido temple, "it's been a while... this rhythm... joyboy, lunala." Said zunesha.
Everybody was shocked, "Hey, joyboy, lunala. It's as if you're guys actually here. I'm excited. This all feels like fate. I can't help counting on them!" Said zunesha.
"Who are we?" You said, "Monkey D. Luffy!" He said, "(L/N) D. (Y/N)!" You said, too. "We'll surpass you, and i become the king of the pirates!"
THE END
HEY, GUYS! THANK YOU FOR WAITING FOR THIS. IT TOOK ME LOT OF TIME WRITING THIS.

The group never gets to hear why Sky’s beamos aren’t bad, because the Guardian is scuttling back and catches sight of them.
“Run!” The beeping has them moving, but not fast enough. Sky is only trotting and they are all clumped together—an easy target.
The beeping of the Guardian speeds up.
“I said run!” With a backward glance at the approaching machine, Wild taps his slate to shrug out a shield. He spins to face the Guardian, but Twilight is pulling on his arm.
“C’mon, leave it be!”
They…they don’t know. They don’t understand the damage these things can do. The champion sucks in a frantic breath and glances between the Guardian and the Chain, still not moving fast enough. Shit. It’s going to fire any second.
He makes his choice.
Rather than unwinding, Wild drops all barriers hard and fast. His aura snaps out, lashing at the inanimate metal monster uselessly. It rolls away from him and slams into the Chain.
Someone screams and they run. Legend’s Pegasus boots kick into gear and he quickly outstrips the others. Twilight’s face twists in discomfort and then he’s turning and running as well, grabbing Wind’s hand to pull him along.
The Guardian, tired of being ignored, finishes its charge up and fires. The blue beam has all of Wild’s senses on red alert and he can barely brace himself in time to deflect it. It goes off course, striking a leg rather than an eye.
The guardian tips, rights itself, and advances. The beeping resumes as it lines up for the next shot. Why can’t he scare these things into submission? Why can’t he do anything? Before, now—it doesn’t matter who or what he is, the champion will never win against them.
Wild brings his shield up as it fires again, but he’s off-balance and too slow. The bolt lands just to the left of the eye. The force of the reflected blast rocks the metal creature backwards and Wild pushes forward. He taps at his slate to pull out a sword, slamming it into the legs as hard as he can. If he can just–get it–to die–!
A leg comes off, but it’s not enough. The guardian rights itself and charges again. His aura lashes and snaps at the machine to little avail. It’s charging too fast and he steps back, trying to lift his shield in time to parry and–
He trips over the broken leg.
Wild falls.
The guardian fires.

Your Lips, My Lips, Apocalypse 💕
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wing Beifong x Airbender Daughter of Tenzin!Reader ~ Where in the Battle with Kuvira, the reader saves Wing from falling to his death. And when she asks him if he is okay, he just kisses her while the whole place is going to shit. Based on the song Apocalypse - Cigarettes After Sex. 🎧
Little thing to know - I HAVE REQUESTED THIS TO OTHER BLOGS BEFORE BUT DECIDED TO WRITE IT MYSELF. So no one better be accusing me of coping 😟, Thank you 🌷
ALSO THIS CHARACTER WILL NOT BE WEARING THOSE TIGHT RED AIRBENDING SUITS (just no 😀), just pretend you have something else on and a glider or you can fly or something 😭
The world was collapsing around us, dust and ash swirling in an insane dance as we fought for our lives against Kuvira. The ground trembled violently, as if it were writhing in anguish beneath them. All I could think about is if Wing is okay, if he is injured or dead. My mind filled with horrific thoughts, but what if they came true? The first time I witnessed the force of that cannon, I felt horrified.
Here we are, sprinting throughout Republic City, fighting that metal monstrosity head on. The fight left every road flooded with the wreckage of buildings, and the surrounding air was filled with gas, dust, and pandemonium.
Korra launched rock missiles, and the other airbenders and I flew about Kuvira's robot like flies, hearing the giant's screeching attempts to hit us. Abruptly, the metal giant raised its hand and pointed the cannon straight toward Korra.
"Create a tornado and attack from the top! RIGHT NOW!" I quickly ordered.
We all moved fast to get into position, whirling about and aiming at the giant's hand.
We delivered our blow. When the monster lost its balance, the explosion destroyed the surrounding ground and its body fell onto a building. Laughing to myself, I quickly took off along with the others, watching as my brother Meelo disappear into the cloud of dust. I was about to tell him to get out until I realized it was Meelo. He can handle himself.
The dust cloud disappeared and revealed the giant reaching to it's face to crush Meelo. He flew fast past us and in our direction.
I saw the cannon pointed at us out of the corner of my eye. It was going to fire on my sister Jinora and me. I swiftly launched myself forward.
"JINORA, LOOK OUT!" I let out a scream and hurriedly moved forward to grab my sister.
Ikki and Meelo arrived to assist us as we began to descend. When the two of them realized they couldn't support our weight. I quickly grabbed the three of them before bending the air below us to form an air cushion and lowering us gently onto the hard pavement.
I hugged my siblings, not wanting to let go.
"Are you three okay?" I asked, while clinging on.
"Yeah, don't worry Y/N we are," Ikki smiled in return.
"Where's your boyfriend?" Meelo interrupted.
"I don't know." I heard my voice hurting, and my vision turned blurry.
I looked up and watched a large chunk of a building fall upon the giant. Wait, Wing could be there.
"Jinora, bring them back to dad please. I'm going to go find my boyfriend." I instructed her, bending a tornado under me to hurry to Wing.
Behind me, I heard my siblings cheering me on. I chucked to myself. Seeing that the tornado wasn't moving fast enough, I propelled myself forward by bending the air below me.
I hurried up to Korra as soon as I arrived. Taking hold of her and turning her to face me, I tried to figure out her feelings through her blue eyes.
"Korra, please tell me Wing is okay- where is he!?" I questioned as I recovered my breath from running so fast.
Wing was attempting to knock down a structure. However, the cannon was then aimed at him. I understood the cannon was about to release. My heart was pounding and my stomach fell. And it let off a blast at that very instant.
A violet ray of light blasted out. I couldn't tell if the beam struck Wing or his rope. No. NO. Please be fine, please be fine.
A few seconds later, a figure in green and gray falls from the sky. Wing.
I leapt into action. I used my bending to launch myself to Wing. My body crashed against his, the impact sending shockwaves through my system as I wrapped my arms around him. We rolled along the ground.
Now that Wing is in my arms, he is safe. I lifted him up and allowed him to steady himself with my arms. I touched his face to see if there were injuries.
“Wing, are you okay? Are you hurt? We have to ge-”
Wing's fingertips found my chin, luring me into a gentle kiss. His hands traveled down to my waist and mine moved down to his chest. Wing's lips were soft and warm against mine, his hands tightened around my waist out of protectiveness. Even though we've kissed before, it always feels like our first. Our breathing synchronized, both of us clearly reluctant to let go. I felt the blast's scorching wind, knowing that we would die if we stayed any longer, but I didn't really care.
He softened his features and grinned a little as we both released our grips and stared into each other's eyes. His smile, his olive green eyes, my sweet Wing... He would have left me.
"Yeah, I'm alright, sweet pea."
"Are you sure? Nothing's hurt?
"Yes, my dear... You know you're adorable when you're worried. How your eyebrows knit together and how your eyes soften."
When he proposed the idea, he grinned. I felt a slight heat on my face. I'm not sure if it was his gorgeous smile or the fact that he thought I was cute.
"Wing, please don't." I answered.
With a smile on his face, he threw up his hands. I couldn't resist grinning as well. This man.
His hands gripped mine.
"Now we gotta go before that thing blasts another beam at us." He states, looking at the metal giant.
"Oh right, right, right, lets go." I reply

AN: hello enjoy this full story for the monster AU! I love @/bluegiragi au and all this steams back to their universe. I justed wanted to put a twist on it in my way heheh enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sun shines down through the heavy clouds. Bright white eyes linger up as the pale woman stared in awe.
She rarely saw the morning sun rise. Not like she used to. When she was alive.
Well... Technically alive?
She tilted her head as she waved her transparent hands through. Sun beam shore through her
Soft mumbles of 'awe' or 'oo' left her lips.
But she was so distracted. She didn't noticed the crunch of leaves behind her. Nor the many crunches of several people approaching her.
Last minute she whipped her head around 360. Her hand still rose. Her hair whispy and floating behind her as she stared
Four men. All monsters. Slowly creeping towards her.
Her white eyes flicker back to her normal brown eyes. She stopped her floating, being transparent. Having a soft glow to her now. Her pale tan skin shined as she seemed 'normal'
Landing on her feet, her long skirt flowing under her as she started to approach towards them.
"Who goes there?"
Her curly hair covered her figure. Hiding parts of her face. She seemed so lost. Her clothes were tatter, faded of color, blood stains litter her attire. It seemed period attire even.
"Just a lad looking for a lass." A deep voice echoed. The scent of cigar? Her eyes adjusted as the fog grew back in.
She stopped as she held her skirt firm in her hands. Getting ready to blow as she noticed the wings.
A dragon?
Then she noticed the others...
A Harpy?
Werewolf?
And...
Her eyes landed to the skull masked man. Feeling her soul tug towards him. She flinched back as she sighs a bit.
"I... I'm no lass?" She said, her voice cracked in broken English. She heard the deep laugh from the dragon. Her eyes widen as she scoffed
"You're a woman yes?"
"Sí."
"You're a lass..." He chuckled as he stopped before her. His cigar illuminated his face as he crossed his large arms. Noticing one wing on him even.
"What do you... Want?" She hesitated as she glared to the others.
Each man keeping a distance. Seeming ready to assist their leader it appeared.
The woman stalked forward as they got a better view of her.
She looked so young...
"I heard a myth of these woods..."
Myth?...
Her eyes soften as she knew what he meant. It was about her...
"A banshee...a crying woman. One that hasn't been able to rest..." The dragon stopped as he guaged her reaction.
She seemed so sad. Her eyes glancing down as she let him continue the myth.
"How long you've been here?"
"...as long I known..." Her voice was somber as she sighs. Her chest heaved as she didn't wanna continue this conversation. Getting herself ready to scream for them to leave.
But the whoosh of black mass covered her mouth before she could try. Her eyes flutter to the skull masked man as she glared. Her eyebrows knit as he returned the same glare.
"Dear.. give me a chance to explain why I'm here." The dragon spoke up as he realized her reluctance towards them.
"My name is John Price..." He said as he inched closer. His one wing flutter as he noticed the fear in her eyes
"Simon! Let her go." Price stated as he shot the large man a stare.
"Sir that wouldn't be wise" He stated back as he met his leaders stare.
"She's scared, it makes sense."
"Sir we need to be careful. The lass could attack-" the Harpy spoke up as he met her gaze
Ximena was getting overwhelmed as they bickered with themselves. Her hair floated up as she started to panic, eyes flickering white as she let out a high pitch screech.
Breaking through Simon's black mass as her vocal range kicked them back. The sound wave broke through the silence as the monsters were flung back.
Well the werewolf and Harpy were. The skull man and Price stood strong. Clinging to their surroundings as they tried to fight back the blast wave.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Her voice roared as she finished off the wave. Her hair a mess as it coated her face. Her breathing was labored as she felt a bit faint. Trying to stand strong as she watched Simon and Price getting back to their feet.
"Come on Lass... Hear us out." Price spoke up as he watched her sway. Her eyes flickering white to brown as she was enraged.
"No! I wanna...be alone." She spoke out as she tried to step back. But as she tried, her body succumbed as she went limp. Hair falling in spills around her as she fell
Price rushed over as he caught the woman. His cigar fell in the process as he cursed under his breath.
"Well we got the package.... Let's hope she'll adjust to whatever comes her way." He voiced as Ghost came behind him. His eyes glaring as he sighs
"What's so special about her anyways?"
"She killed multiple soldiers a month again half a team wiped out. Multiple generals wanted her capture... To test on her or convince her to join."
"What the fuck is wrong with them..."
"You know as much as I do. Everything."
Soap and Gaz huffed as they finally returned. Their eyes sore as they were tossed into the cold river behind the forest. A good few miles away.
"Sir can we leave now?" Gaz asked as his feathers flicker from water.
Soap whined as he shook off his fur. A bit panting as he stared to the woman.
"Wee thing tuckered out... Good for us right?"
"For how long...?"
"Let's hope a while." Ghost spoke up as he scooped the woman into his arm. Tossing her over his shoulder.
Ximena whined as she eased up finally. Her hair covering her face, her dainty hands clung to his shoulders.
Ghost froze as he didn't wanna give away the interaction as they started to trudge back through the misty forest. Well the mist vanished once she was knocked out.
The lads a bit impressed she was able to control so much at once.
She ended up being out for three days. And when she came to. Locked in a glass cell. Her eyes looking around as she missed something. A warmth.
"Hello...?" She called out as she pressed her hands against the glass. Not being able to look out.
But everyone could see in. The fear on her eyes. The way her hair was freaking out, smashing against the glass wanting to let her out.
And eventually. Just mist filled the cell. Blocking out their view in.
Who knew what else was in store for their team with this new element to their team.

Tumblr media
You’re just sitting down on the picnic blanket beside Steven when a familiar tingle dances along your skin. “What do you sense, little witch?”
You don’t even flinch at the deep voice anymore, simply sighing in annoyance. One date night is all you want, one date without annoying gods or last minute missions. “What is he talking about?” Steven asks in confusion. You focus on the bird behind him. “Have you been following us?”
“I have better things to do.”
You've been feeling off for a few hours now but you can't detect why. Ignoring the god as usual, you reach out your powers but you run into a mental wall. Whatever is targeting you has psychic abilities too and is fortifying their mind. They’re good, but they can’t hide from you entirely.
Well at least the park is practically empty at this hour (you came here for stargazing after all.) “You might want to summon the suit, babe,” you tell him casually.
Steven tilts his head, sure he misheard you. “You want the soup?”
Then suddenly a F/C force field is around you both, deflecting a laser blast. The beam ricochets, ripping through the shooter. You hear an exclaim as a kree flickers into vision. They’re wearing an elaborate suit that kept them invisible before, but is now damaged, soaked with blue blood. You’ve never dealt with a telepathic kree before but you know they love to experiment on each other so you aren’t terribly surprised.
You get into a kneeling position as your clothes transform into your own suit. “Don’t freak out. Just a few aliens,” you attempt to soothe him. He looks even more overwhelmed then suddenly his eyes flutter. When they open Jake is fronting. You sense two more Kree. Realizing their mission is failing, their shield’s have started to weaken. “Get the shooter. I’ll handle his friends,” you order Jake.
You easily control both of the aliens, making them deactivate their invisibility suits and surrender. You put one in a comatose state but the other is doing everything to fight against your influence.
“Who’s your lover?” It manages to choke out. How dare this monster even mention your boyfriends. Your magic boils inside of you. Your eyes burn F/C as the kree wails in pain, clutching their head. You approach their crumpled form.
“Let me explain something to you. Your powers require focus, right? When you get upset they weaken. But chaos magic is the opposite. You make me mad, or hurt someone I love, I lose control.”
Their body sags. You take the time to look through their mind, sickened by what you see. Although you’re relieved to find the kree have no large scale plans of invading earth, they deem it too guarded. The three idiots who attacked you disagreed. They stupidly thought their psychic abilities would be enough to defeat you.
“Cariño, look at this gun!”
You turn around to see your boyfriend donned in his black and white armor. His uncovered face goes from excitement to concern when he notices your shaken state. “Are you alright? Did they hurt you?” He disregards the weapon he was so excited about to hold your face in his hands.
“I’m fine, baby. Are you?”
“Yeah, I’m good. It wasn’t exactly a struggle considering he already shot himself.”
You flash a small, relieved smile but then you notice the blue splatters staining Jake’s suit. “Did you kill him?”
He raises his brow. “Was I not supposed to?” He gestures to blue figures by your feet. “Are they not dead?”
You shake your head no. “Just unconsciousness. I needed to get some information from them.”
Jake suddenly looks nervous, afraid you’re going to judge him for being too violent. Too dark for you. You’re quick to reassure him. “Hey, these guys are terrorists. When I looked in their minds there was so much bloodshed. There’s no telling how many they’ve killed.”
He’s silent for a moment. “So can I shoot them with this?”
Despite the gruesome circumstances a faint smirk graces your mouth. “Yes, Jake. You can use the outer space gun.”
You choose to look at the pond as he sends a laser through each alien’s head. It’s a painless death. Much more merciful than the way they slaughtered their victims. With a flick of your wrist the bodies and their weapons evaporate into nothing.
When you look back at your boyfriends you're greeted with puppy dog eyes. “Let us keep it,” Marc pleads, clutching the stolen gun in his hands. You sigh in defeat. “Fine, but don’t let Steven use it. He’ll blow off a finger. And that counts as your Hanukah presents!"
“Hah! I get a blaster!”
“Wait, is that why you want it? Because it looks like a blaster from Star Wars?”
“... No.”

UNDERTALE YELLOW MERCILESS ROUTE SPOILERS
ive seen a couple people here and there be upset over how the route ends, but i want to give my two cents on why i actually really like it
(btw this is not at all me saying people HAVE to enjoy it, or arent allowed to dislike it, just sharing my own take on it)
if youve clicked the read more im going to assume youve played through the merciless route and seen its ending, or dont care about spoilers for it
otherwise what the heck are you doing here
but basically, what ive seen people get upset over a lot, is the fact that clover kills asgore and flowey instantly, takes the human souls, and then just waltzes out of the underground and beyond the players reach (which is my personal take on why resetting goes back to floweys control, and clover forgetting, instead of to when clover unlocks the save ability, is its not clover or flowey resetting, but us. the player IS a distinctly separate entity in ut/dr after all)
but honestly?? what else COULD have happened?? asgore couldnt handle frisk at level ONE. he didnt stand even a FRACTION of a chance against an lv 20 clover, who might i add, has a giant laser beam, a degree of soul magic not even frisk obtains. you COULD argue chara uses soul magic to "kill" our save file at the end of undertales merciless route though, i could see that, but still, clovers laser is a much more direct and obvious show of it. (and just to be safe, before anyone tries to say humans dont have magic, no, thats literally the entire premise of the setting is humans used magic to create the barrier, its just less present in humans than it is in monsters, who are made of the stuff)
and undertale yellows merciless route goes the route of deciding that undertales version already said everything there is to say on the meta aspects and the whole "you can so you need to" mindset, so instead it just calls it what it is: its a power trip. its mindless slaughter for the sake of getting stronger, whether its the player demanding a different ending (like deltarunes coldhearted route(im not calling it snowgrave, but this is entirely personal preference)), or again just wanting to see whatll happen. but either way its to feel strong.
and what happens at the end of that power trip? youve reached level 20. youve surpassed floweys control. you have as much power as you could ever hope to achieve. so, realistically:
whats stopping you from just killing asgore and leaving.
nothing. so you do.
and it leaves you wondering: was the power trip worth it. was the pain and suffering you caused worth it to get such a blatantly, not just non-canon, but ANTI-CANON ending? (EDIT: and i mean this in a positive way, its the same kind of self-reflection over your actions that undertale pulls, just communicated in a more indirect way)
and it being so anti-canon is part of why its such a haunting ending for me.
there really wasnt any other possible way for it to end. lv 20 itself and the way undertale and deltarune characterize that increase in power, in retrospect it feels obvious that it would be anti-canon in a prequel. monster souls are weaker than human souls, even at lv 1. so against a human whos lv 20, and who got there by constantly persisting and trying over and over to get past whatever obstacle is in front of them, and refuses to give up on their conquest, theres nothing anyone can do, and that alone rips the canon of undertale into shreds.
even SANS realizes theres nothing that can actually stop you, not even him, so the best he can hope for is that he puts up enough of a fight to make the player give up and/or reset, same reason his final attack is a turn that never ends.
and having to face that by helplessly watching clover blast an asgore-shaped hole in the story is TERRIFYING to me, in a way i really love the yellow team for doing. idk if its actually intentional or if im reading too much into it, but either way,

"Fairness" One Piece x Saitama reader, Nine.
Tumblr media
"Just a Normal girl looking for an everyday life. At least, if you call sailing across the seas with idiots with useless dreams a simple task, then you might wanna see a doctor. Seriously."
Warnings: Blood, gore, mentions of Luekimia, and heaps amount of blood and strength. It might be a little cursing, but not bad, and maybe some flirting in there, but it's mostly clean.
Other things:
-You didn't get bald due to your powers; you got bald to an extreme illness.
-You part of the straw hat crew, but others are interested in you and your power.
-Everyone that is a male is taller than you.
-Monsters from the OPM world will appear in One Piece, and I'll make some new monsters you will fight.
Enjoy the Ninth chapter, everyone!! :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"CU-A-AH-CUTIE!!!!!"
The ground below you exploded as you landed in front of the admirals and a Giant orc whose head was bleeding.
Your eyes were darkened, your wig nowhere to be found, as your bald head was revealed, to the world, a new world.
Everyone around you was shocked, as your face didn't change a shade, as the dust finally calmed down, as your eyes and face looked up at the three men, your mouth son forming a snarl shape.
It seemed like Luffy made it as well, as he was smiling, his body all wet thanks to Jimbei helping him. I didn't have time to chit-chat; instead, I teleported from my spot, somewhat closer to the three admirals, as my leg returned. "DISTRACTING WIND KICK!" I yelled, kicking the air right in front of them as a blast of wind came from the impact, but Aokiji froze the air somehow, which made my eyes widen, as the three bolted to me.
I was able to teleport away, didn't know Luffy had a plan as when I teleported, a large log was thrown at them.
Stopping, Aokiji froze the log as well, forcing it back to Luffy, who broke it into millions of Pieces, using the gatling attack, but with his foot to send the pieces back to them.
That destracted the three, as I grabbed Luffy's hand. "Come on!" I zoomed quickly behind them, both of us flying to the execution platform Until Kizaru caught up to us, about to kick Luffy. "Too Slow, Mugiwara..." My eyes widened when he kicked Luffy far, my head whipping that way. "Luffy!" I yelled, blocking Kizaru's kick to my easily, as my head looked to him. "You made it this far little one, I'm surprised....especially with that injury of yours..." I smirked to him. "Do you think I'd let a sharp stick take the best of me? Think again!" I pushed his leg of, both of us going back as I slid on the floor, as he just simply landed as well. "Your strong. Guess I won't back down when facing you this time..."
But, as he was saying that, the men were about to execute Ace, which I saw, as my eyes widened. "ACE!!" I yelled, the weapons about to go down on him as Kizaru saw a chance to leave, not bothered to fight me which pissed me off, but I bolted, faster to Ace, not wanting him to die yet.
I was far away, I needed to move faster, but, time had different plans, as the weapons were already almost to the kill points.
'SHIT! NO! THIS IS NOT HOW FAIRNESS WORKS! HE CAN'T DIE! NOT LIKE THIS!' I thought, moving even faster, but, it was too late, as I was just too far away from him.
Or so I thought.
Sand erupted under the platform boards, killing the two guards before the blades could poke Ace, as mine, and everyone else's eyes widened, as Sengoku's teeth gritted with annoyance, looking for the coraprate.
My face turned releifed, a smile plastering my face as Crocodile strood firm in the crowed, his cloak blowing in the wind, sand swirling around him as the marines pointed guns at him, as he didnt' hesitate.
"I thought that it was to our advantage to have you since you hold a grudge against whitebeard. Crocodile." He finished, Luffy's eyes widened in surprise, hopping out of the debree, ignoring the marines surrounding him as well, as Marco landed on a metal beam above, while Jimbei was still in the water. I smirked, as I look straight at garp. "He still wanted to kill the old man. But he and the waters have changed. Do you think he's stupid to let the Marines get what they want?"
Crocodile looked to me, landing beside him as I touched his hook. "Are you alright?" He looked down at me. "I should be asking you that." I smiled. "Ah, right, just a scratch, I'll pull through, thanks for Saving Ace." He nodded, and looked back at Sengoku. "Don't think I switched dramatically, I can kill the old man later, like Y/n-san said....I won't let the mairnes have this win...or a taste of victory.." His words sent shivers down your spine, as you saw a white line go to his neck. Curious, my head tilted, as I simply grabbed the white line, which only scratched me. "Huh? What's this?" Crocodiles eyes widened, as he recognised the white line, as he looked to hear a familiar laugh, Doflamingo walking to the two of us. "Hey, you, gator guy! You turned me down and now, you wanna team up with Whitebeard and this cutie? It makes me Jealous." He smirked, his power leaving my hands, as I glared to him, as crocodile did as well. "I'm not gonna team up with anybody. I'll make an accepting arrangement to Y/n....she earns my respect..." Corcodile spoke, Doflamigno's smirk growing wider. "So that means your still giving me the cold shoulder, even taking the cutie with you, how fair is that?" "Looks like it's fair to me...I ain't taking her no where bird brain....think of it as being fair." I smile up at him when he looked to me, as Doflamingo let out anouth laugh. "I see then, let's see how this fairness deal plays out!" He attacked as well as Crocodile, as both of them clashed together, knocking some marines back.
My eyes widened with surprise, worried, but saw this as a helping opportunity, Luffy did as well, as we bolted away, heading back towards the platform.
We scattered everyone, clearing a pathway like bowling pins, as I was able to catch up to him.
My eyes looked up at Ace, who was looking down, not at us as I knew how he felt, which made me want to push forwards, to not loose.
As we kept fighting, dodging, trying to survive, as got closer and closer, until Luffy got hit with an Ice shard, as my eyes widened. "LUFFY!" He flung back, his back slamming and sliding on the floor,
Admrial Aokiji stood before him, taking the ice weapon out of his arm, towering over Luffy. "I owed a favor to your grandfather.." He lifted the weapon again. "But I have no choice! Because you chose to risk your life!" But, before he could stab Luffy again, I bolted, standing in front of Luffy, which made his eyes widened,until Marco kicked his side, sending Aokiji flying.
My eyes widened, eyes locking to the man, as Luffy did as well. "Y-Y/n." He spoke, as I just look up at Marco with admiration. "Thank you, for saving my tail.." He smirked down at me. "No problem Miss, Yoi, don't get your cute but in danger again ok?" He winked, turning to fight again as my heart raced, my mouth soon letting out a snort as I turned to Luffy. "Are you alright?!" He nodded, but winced when he leaned on his bad arm, as I held it gently. "Hang on." I ripped both of my pant leg fabrics, exposing my rather large thighs, as marines started to blush, as I wasn't bothered with the stairs, as I kneeled down, wrapping Luffy's arm with the fabric. "So no dirt or debree will get into it." His face watched me with awe, the sunlight shining on the battlefield behind me, as his heart raced, a small smile forming his lips. "Thank you, Y/n-san. What would I do without you?" I sighed. "Probably be dead." He chuckled. "Your right, but, that's not who I am. I came here fighting, for a purpose, for a reason, and that's to save Ace, so you can join my crew." My eyes widened. "Why would saving Ace make me join your crew?" He smiled. "So I can prove to you how good of a captain I can be, even if everyone is separated. Yet again, I'm not just saving Ace to get what I want, I'm saving him because he's my brother-" He pause when we heard explosions, as the giant Orc that helped a ship to land, got shot down, as mine and his eyes widened.
"N-No.." I whispered, as the Orc was an innocent soul, which was falling down to his death.
As he was falling, I saw him look to whitebeard, who held a face of remorse and sadness, as he looked back up to Sengoku.
The action made the old man pissed, as he clenched the weapon in his hand, as he began to walk, towards the edge of his own ship.
Everyone was watching, as he jumped over, right on the ground below.
"WHITEBEARD HAS DECENDED TO THE PLAZA!!" A marine yelled, as the man stood back up, Marines pointing their guns as him. "Stay back, my sons!" he ordered, looking ahead as he lifted up his two handed weapon, a white ball of energy coming out of it while he yelled swinging it to the left.
Cracks were made in the air, which caused your eyes to widen, which broke, a large amount of energy escaping as a shit tone of marines scattered everywhere, like an invisible bomb went off.
As i held onto Luffy as the wind picked up, soon it died down, as whitbeards face was lined with black, as he was angry, his own main grew hopping down with him before he held up his fist. "GUYS! RESCUE ACE AND DESTROY THE NAVY!!!" His words made me smirk, as I was done with Luffy's injuring, both of us hopping up, as we joined them, both of us bolting.
'Don't worry Ace.' I thought, as me and Luffy looked up at him, who's eyes were filled with water.
'We're on our way!'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was tragic. Oars death.
It affected ace, as of the whitebeard crew, as Marco stood in front of him, with a blank face. "Thank you, Oars." He spoke, turning, to seek out the battle, as it was pure an utter chaos, more chaotic than before.
Whitebeard was walking, preparing energy on his weapon again. "Clear the way for me!" He ordered, his crew following orders as they ran, whitebeard about to do his main attack again, until Aokiji went up in the air, putting his hands together. "ICE BALL!" I large amount of ice spread throughout, heading to whitebeard to enclose him, as I turned, looking that way. "OLD MAN!" I yelled, telling Luffy to go ahead, as I bolted, Aokiji landing, as some marines though he was trapped.
But oh boy, where they wrong.
The ice suddenly broke, as I simply punched it, freeing the Yonko, as the Admrials eyes widened. "Ah! The kid is on his side! How could I forgotten!" Getting his powers ready again, as he jumped, about to attack me. "ICE..." I turned, Whitebeard growling with annoyance as his weapon came up, stabbing the Admiral straight through, protecting me.
My eyes widened from his actions, time stopped, as whitebeards large hand was shielding me from some shards, his hand bleeding. "O-Old man!" I yeld, as he glared down at me. "Don't be reckless next time brat.....your lucky it was just my hand and not your heart.." I gulped, as Aokiji's hand grabbed his weapon, Ice forming on it, as my eyes widened. "Pops!" I yelled, him not changing a shade, until Aokiji was hit, spread apart while he turned himself into snow.
A gaint man, his arm lined with Dimon projectect whitebeard, as he landed in front of him and me. "Pops! Move forwards!"
Whitebeard nodded. "Right, I leave him to you. Don't fail me." Whitebeard moved forwards, as I followed after, going ahead of him, as Aokiji was left with the Dimond dude, as the battle and war continued.
Luffy was way ahead, looking up at Ace, as Garp noticed this, his body shaking with sadness and fear for Luffy's life, as Sengoku just simply looked to him not saying anything.
But, as Luffy continued to run, he got slashed down, by a navy Vice admiral, as my eyes widened again. "LUFFY!!!" He slid on the floor, face first, his breaths more tired and heavy. "Vie admiral? The same rank as G-Grandpa?" He asked, slowly getting up, he tried to fight him off, but another Vice admrial came to help, Knocking Luffy down again, which made me run faster. "DON'T GET UP! I'M COMING LUFFY!!" I ran even faster, when Kizaru sent an explosion his way, as I teleported behind kizaru, kicking him easily out of the way, into the nearest building, as I was beside Luffy once more. "Luffy! Fuck, Luffy can you hear me?!" I was worried, until Kizaru came back. "Why don't you both just go away?" I dodged him, but he kicked Luffy away, making him fly to whitebeard, who caught him like a doll.
I sighed with releif, but still felt worried as Luffy was gravely injured, whitebeard glaring to him, as Luffy was upside down. Kizaru smirked at the sight. "OOOH! Whitebeard's command has dulled. You could've done better than that. I can't belive that you let that piece of crap...who is so reckless, take the lead!" His words made me angry, though they were meant to whitebeard who was holding Luffy, as my face lined with Anger. Soon enough, I stepped in front of him, and Luffy, my arms holding out widem my face serious. "I won't let you hurt either of them!" Kizaru's eyes slightly widened. "Oh really? That's a bold move coming from you Little one..." He readied his devil fruit again, as Whitebeards crew stepped in front of him also, ready to protect pops at all cost. "Oh how touching! A family reunion....let's see how all of you can survive this-" "THERE THEY ARE! Y/N-GIRL AND STRAW BOY!" A familiar voice spoke, as I turned and smiled, everyone else did as well, as Ivanka grew in size, herself like a giant as some pirates and marines spit their Saliva out. "I KNEW IT! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT WAS HAPPENING!" she told Jimbei, who was standing beside her large head. JImebi jumped down, worried for Luffy as Ivanka looked to me. "IS HE DEAD Y/N GIRL?!" My brows furrowed, looking down. "He's badly injured..." Ivanka called, Luffy struggling in whitebeards hold, as he tossed him to some crew members to get checked out and treated, as I bolted, running that way. Luffy struggled against their hold, getting out as he pleaded to let him go and save Ace, as everyone heard his hurtful cries and please, but as he left and tried to run, he just tumbled to the floor again, as I rushed to his side. "Luffy!" I spoke, worried, as Jimbei went beside me, as I shook him, trying to get him to wake up, but nothing was happening, as he was passed out.
"Shit..! Surgeon you have to do something, please! He needs to save Ace!" The doctor reasurred me he will do his work, as Jimbie looked back, as whitebeard and Aukini clashed, large amounts of Whit/red energy clashing each other, as I never seen so much power in my life. "Y/n-San! Let's leave Luffy with the surgeon! We need to move forwards!" I didn't like his statement, but understood as all Luffy wants to do is rescue Ace. I turned to look at him, my face gently caressing his face. "Don't worry Luffy...we'll rescue Ace...you'll recover...I have faith...." Before i left, I pecked his cheek gently, yet lovingly, before running with Jimbei, advancing to the battle.
Marco seemed to be coming with us, as many allies of the whitebeard pirates joined as well, all of us heading to Ace's direction. Looking to Marco through the smoke, I yelled to him. "Try to see is you can get to Ace by air!" Liking my statement, he already thought of that plan as he advanced high in the air, which the admirals saw.
Sengoku, annoyed, spoke in the snail thing. "WHAT ARE YOU IDIOTS DOING!? SHOOT HIM DOWN ALREADY!!" As some of the marines tried to shoot Marco, but didn't work. "W-WE CAN'T" They replied as Marco got closer, until Garp got up from his seat, bolting to Marco, who easily got knocked back by him.
But, for Marco to do an areal attack was all apart of your plan, as you looked to Jimbei. "Give me a boost!" I spoke, Stopping a little ways from him as he knew what I was doing, and nodded..
Once Jimbei bended down a little, I ran to him, his large hands getting stepped on by my feet as he used his strength to push me up high in the sky, as I used my incredible speed to get even closer, right up to Sengoku's face. "You think that was the only move he thought of!? Think again!"
I puched Sengoku, away from Ace as he stumbled off the platform, his teeth gritting with annoyance, looking up as I landed on the platform, my eyes dark.
Ace was shocked, looking up at me, as I didn't let my guard down, as I simply sat down, as I knew Luffy was going to get up. "Ace.." I spoke, himself still not believing I'm right next to him, as my head turned to face him. "Are you ready to be rescued?" My words were almost a myth, as he just looked down at me, as I simply blankly looked at him, as I scooted closer.
But, as I got coser, Garp, Sengoku, and some of the Admrials surrounded the two of us, as his eyes widened. "Get out of the way!!" I didn't change a shade of emotion, instead, I looked to the four, before my eyes slightly widened. "Die." Energy came out of me, a unique sound going throughout everywhere, as the energy spread through the adrmials, pushing them back, as their eyes widened, recognizing the power.
All of them landed to the floor, some other marines and pirates unable to stand, as tinted yellow electricity and light came out of me, as if the energy is destructive.
'I-It can't be...' Ace thought, looking to me with utter shock, as did garp and the admrials.
Ivankove and Jimbei where shocked as well, Marco and pops smirking, as of Doflamingo, who him and Crocodile paused their fighting, looking my way, as did Mihawk, whoput his sword away. A small smile formed his lips, as he finally understood me, as I was just like Luffy, not wanting to back down. "Looks like you evolved, little rabbit...." He spoke, his heart racing wildly, as Whitebeard's smirk was still on his face. "The brat........"
"Has conquerer's Haki..."

Febuwhump day 29: not allowed to die
Whumpees: the Chain
Whump Rating: 10/10
TWs: major character death (of sorts. it's complicated), blood & injury
Time seemed to slow down as Hyrule glanced over at his teammates.
Time and Warriors were holding their ground, as were Sky and Twilight. Wild was in the trees somewhere, picking off monsters with his bow, and Legend was blasting monsters with his fire rod.
Wind was down for the count. He would be fine, but he couldn’t fight in his current state, so he was sitting on the sidelines woozily. Wild was close enough to keep an eye on him, at least.
Which left Four. He had been fighting alongside Wind, but now with the sailor out of commission, monsters were beginning to gang up on the smithy. He slashed furiously at Bokoblins and Moblins as they surrounded him, finding their smallest member to be an easy target. Four was strong and a capable fighter for sure, but there were only so many monsters that one person could reasonably manage at one time, and the smith was reaching that limit.
Hyrule watched with horror as a Moblin raised a spiked club, swinging it with incredible speed and dexterity for a beast of that size.
“Four!” Hyrule called, alarmed.
It was too late.
The traveler watched with horror as Four turned to look, eyes widening for a split second before the club made contact with his chest, creating the most terrible cracking sound. The smithy flew backward into a sturdy tree, crumpling into a pile on the ground.
“FOUR!” Hyrule screamed, sending a sword beam through a Lizalfos’ throat before running to his friend. The monsters had dispersed already, assuming the smithy to be dead.
Hyrule desperately hoped they were wrong. They had to be wrong.
Legend, who had also seen the events, came running as well. Hyrule skidded to his knees next to Four, frantically searching for a pulse or breathing or something. He couldn’t be dead. He had to be alive. He had to be.
“I’ll guard you!” The Veteran yelled, falling into a defensive stance as more monsters approached the fallen smithy.
Hyrule didn’t bother replying, too focused on finding a pulse. Four’s body– so small, so vulnerable like this– was mangled, especially in the chest area. But there was a faint movement there, a strained breath. Four was alive, but only just. He would have to heal this quickly if the smith was going to continue to live.
Focusing, Hyrule shut his eyes, puffing out his cheeks. Magic pooled in his hands, and he slammed a ton of it into Four all at once, crying out. Green tendrils poured from the traveler, sinking into the smithy’s broken body. Four shuddered and choked, quickly going silent. Tears leaked from the corners of Hyrule’s closed eyes as he continued pressing everything he had into Four in hopes of healing him.
“Oh…” Twilight murmured breathlessly. Hyrule didn’t dare turn around as more presences made themselves known around him. One got close, grabbing Four’s wrist, then pressing fingers against his neck.
“Four…” Sky whispered, voice breaking.
A gentle hand laid itself on the traveler’s shoulder. “Hyrule…” It was Twilight. “Hyrule, stop.”
Stop? Why would he stop? Four needed to be healed, and that’s what he was doing! If he stopped, then…
“Hyrule,” Twilight repeated, firmer this time. “Link. You need to stop. You can’t do anything.”
Hyrule froze. What? No, no, he could do something… the only way his magic wouldn’t help was if Four was already dead, and that couldn’t… no. He couldn’t be. Four wasn’t allowed to die, he wasn’t allowed to die! Nobody could die, no, none of them could die…
Heart pounding, Hyrule peeked his eyes open. Warriors was sitting on the smith’s other side, eyes solemn as he shook his head. Four was lying perfectly still, partially healed but not quite enough. It hadn’t been enough. He couldn’t save Four. Four was dead.
Hyrule screamed.
He screamed, sobbing as he collapsed onto the smithy’s still– too still – body. No, not body– Four’s corpse. Because Four was dead and Hyrule couldn’t save him and it just wasn’t enough no matter what he did. Maybe if he hadn’t wasted time searching for a pulse, maybe if his magic was stronger, maybe if Four hadn’t been cornered in the first place-
“Hyrule.” Twilight’s strong arms wrapped around him, holding him in a tight hug. “You did everything you could. It’s okay.”
It’s okay? It’s okay?! How could anything be okay?! One of them was dead on the ground and it was okay? Nothing was okay! How were they supposed to move on from this?
All that came out was a choked sob as Hyrule crumpled against Twilight’s chest, shaking with each pained cry. The rancher held him gently, rubbing the traveler’s back.
Time, Warriors, and Sky carefully wrapped up Four’s body, treating him with the utmost care and respect. Sky cried softly as he helped, and Time and Warriors’ eyes were misty as well. Wild and Legend had both disappeared somewhere, and Wind was just coming to.
“Here, Hyrule,” Twilight murmured, petting the brunette’s hair comfortingly. “Why don’t you help the sailor? Do you have enough magic left?”
Hyrule nodded miserably, hands glowing as he sobbed brokenly. Wind’s dazed expression dissipated as the magic flowed, healing his head injury with ease. At least he could do that… but it was too late for Four. The smithy was dead, wrapped up in his favorite blanket with all those colors on it. Almost like his tunic, Hyrule thought, sobbing weakly.
“Ughhh,” Wind groaned, holding a hand to his head. “What happened?”
Twilight stood up, leaving Hyrule to usher their youngest away. “Let’s talk,” the rancher said to Wind, dragging him away from the scene.
Now it was only Hyrule, Sky, Time, and Warriors. Well, and Four. But Four was-
“‘Rulie,” Sky sniffled, wrapping the traveler in a hug. “I’m so sorry, I wish I could’ve been here to help. You did your best… I’m so sorry!” The Skyloftian knight held Hyrule close as they cried together, wrapped up in each other’s arms.
“I…” Warriors sighed, clearly upset despite his attempts to conceal it. “I guess I’ll go look for Champ and Vet.”
“Someone should stay here with…” Time grimaced, gesturing to the blanket wrap that held the smithy’s corpse. “You go on ahead, try to find them. We’ll search for a gravesite when all of us are together.”
“...Right.” Warriors ran off without another word, but his sobs were loud enough to hear anyway. Sky and Hyrule remained on the ground, clutching each other like their life depended on it. Time stood over Four’s body, closing his eye as he hung his head. It was clear the loss was taking a toll on all eight of them, but Hyrule was easily the most upset. He blamed himself, after all.
“You did your best…” Sky repeated, sniffling. “It’s not your fault.”
“It’s not any of our faults,” Time agreed. Sky and Hyrule glanced up at him with teary eyes. “We couldn’t have known. We… there was nothing we could do to stop it.” The Old Man sighed, shaking his head. “I never wanted to bury one of our own.”
“None of us do,” Twilight replied, expression solemn. Wind followed behind him, sniffling as he laid eyes on the small wrapped body.
“Four,” he whispered, jaw dropping as he stared, wide-eyed. “No, I- no.”
Sky opened his arm, scooting so there was more space. “C’mere.”
Wind fell to his knees, sobbing as he leaned into Sky and Hyrule. The three of them cried together while Twilight joined Time’s vigil over Four’s body. Warriors returned soon after with Wild and Legend, bringing their number back up to nine eight. Wild took one look at the blanket wrap before breaking down, sobbing into Twilight’s arms. Legend just stared numbly, expression unreadable.
“We should find somewhere to bury him,” Time murmured after a few minutes.
Warriors nodded. “We’ll have ourselves a little funeral. A… proper sendoff.”
“He wouldn’t’ve wanted anything fancy,” Wild added, voice breaking as he tried not to cry.
“I found a place.” Everyone turned to look at Legend, save for the three on the ground. The Vet’s expression remained emotionless as he stared at the body of his friend. “South from here. Bunch’a mushrooms and shit around.”
He would've liked it there went unsaid.
Time nodded, for once not bothering to correct the language. “We’ll check it out.”
They gathered their things, and Time carefully lifted Four’s body, draping him over his shoulder. Twilight carried Wild, and Warriors carried Wind. Sky helped Hyrule to his feet, offering a ride to the traveler as well. The kid was small enough to carry without much difficulty anyway, and he was extremely distraught by the day’s events (as the rest of them were).
So Time, Twilight, Warriors, Sky, and Legend walked south until they found a nice spot, setting their stuff up for the night. Hyrule and Wind were sent to bed (neither of them could sleep, but some rest would do them some good), Legend sat and stared at the campfire, and Wild made a spot for himself up in a tree. Sky sat near Legend, carving something, and Time, Warriors, and Twilight dug a hole.
As dusk approached, all eight of them gathered around the hole in the ground, around six feet deep but around four feet in length. No words passed between the eight remaining Links as Four’s body was lowered into the ground, buried with dirt until a small lump of raised ground was the only sign of their fallen comrade’s grave.
Wild approached silently, jamming a row of tied sticks in the dirt over Four’s head. He bowed his head, pressing a hand into the dirt sadly. When Wild retreated, Sky took his place, kneeling to the side of the grave to lay a small, wooden sword, carved by his own hand. It resembled Four’s weapon but with a small feather carved in the handle, nearly identical to the one the smithy had worn as an earring.
“We’ll miss you,” Sky whispered, closing his eyes as he lifted his face to the darkened sky. “Rest in peace, Link.”
Hyrule and Wind both wore miserable expressions, faces stained with tear tracks matching their red, puffy eyes. The pair clung to each other, doing their best to stifle any sobs. Legend’s facade had finally cracked, and his eyes were rimmed red as tears slipped silently down his cheeks. Warriors had shed a few tears as well, and Twilight was sniffling as he hugged Wild close. Time’s head was bowed, but a stray tear or two dripped off into the dirt below.
None of them could believe Four was really gone. They buried him, they mourned him, but it hadn’t actually set in yet. Denial hit hard among the remaining Heroes of Courage as they said their final goodbyes to one of their own.
They say it gets worse before it gets better, but it was hard to imagine things getting worse than this. Maybe they would never fully recover from losing Four. They would be forced to move on nevertheless. Fate was cruel in that way.
None of them slept a wink that night. Those who tried were quickly awoken by nightmares, forced to relive the death of their friend. The death of their brother. And, once sunrise was upon them, a portal appeared, forcing them to move on against their will. And once the last Link passed through, it closed, sealing Four away from them forever. The smithy was really, truly gone, and there was nothing any of them could do about it.
Wind and Hyrule both blamed themselves. If Wind hadn’t gotten knocked out, if Hyrule had been faster, if someone had just been there to look out for Four-
There was no use dwelling on the past, no matter how painful it was. You can’t change the past. Nobody could change the past. Whatever happens happens and there’s nothing anyone can do to fix it.
Time pulled out his ocarina, smoothing his hand over it.
He covered the holes with his fingers, preparing for that first note.
He held the instrument up to his lips…
…and played the Song of Time.

Just Get It Over With
Warnings: captivity, torture, restraints, blood, self sacrifice, death, mcd, grief, hurt/no comfort
Sidekick sat in the med bay in Lair. They had stayed there since they were brought back from Base and Superhero's clutches. Stayed there since they had failed the most important person in their life. Stayed there since they had to leave what was left of Villain behind.
Sidekick couldn't shake the memories of their last few hours with Villain. Couldn't shake the memories of the pain they had, and the pain they witnessed. Couldn't shake the pain of being held captive by Superhero. And they couldn't shake the memories of Villain dying.
"Just get it over with already," Villain wheezed as they struggled to remain standing in the standing cuffs. Superhero had been beating them for hours and their body was battered and bruised. "You've been wanting to kill me ever since I left here. Ever since I broke free of your control." They spat a gob of blood at Superhero's feet.
Superhero frowned. They stepped around the blood. "It is true I've been waiting a long time for this. But why would I waste my time now, when I can enjoy your pain for so much longer?"
Superhero turned to where Sidekick was chained to the wall across from Villain. Sidekick had a front row seat to Villain's torture. They were relatively unharmed aside from the few scrapes and bruises that happened when they tried to escape Superhero's grasp. "Maybe I should give you a break and turn my attentions to your mentee. You could learn a thing or two from your old mentor, Villain." Sidekick's heart threatened to beat out of their chest at the mere suggestion of Superhero torturing them. They didn't think they could endure it.
"I cannot learn anything from you. You're a monster. Pure evil." Villain's voice was full of venom and rage. And it was enough to distract Superhero from attacking Sidekick.
"And yet the people love me and hate you," Superhero hissed as they raised a fist towards Villain."
"Only because they don't know the truth. But I know--"
Villain's words were cut off by Superhero releasing a beam of light into their chest. Blood poured from the giant hole in Villain's ruined chest. Villain sagged in the chains, their legs no longer able to hold them up. Their head lolled forward as blood dripped from their lips in a steady stream.
"NO!" Sidekick shrieked. Villain was still alive. They had to be alive.
"Not so tough now, are you, Villain," Superhero said as they blasted Villain one more, this time in the stomach.
Villain's body jerked, but they didn't cry out. Blood pooled around their feet. Sidekick couldn't breathe. Villain had to be alive. They wouldn't last long without Villain. Right Hand and the others should be almost here. Villain had to be alive so they could all go home.
"There's no point in talking to them, little one," Superhero said to Sidekick as they grabbed Villain's head by the hair. "They can't hear you anymore." And they lifted Villain's head.
Villain's jaw was slack, blood and saliva dripping in a steady stream from their open mouth. Their eyes were half lidded and empty as they stared out at nothing.
"NOOOOOO!" Sidekick screamed as they began to sob. Villain couldn't be dead. They needed Villain. They had so much still to learn from Villain. Villain had protected them from Superhero. Had drawn Superhero to attack them instead of Sidekick. Had died instead of Sidekick.
"More's they pity," Superhero released their grip on Villain's hair, "I would have liked to enjoy more time with them." They blasted the cuffs keeping Villain upright. Villain's body dropped into the pool of blood on the ground, landing in a heap. Superhero kicked at Villain. Kicked and kicked until Villain's face was visible once more.
Supervillain knelt down, their face inches from Villain's. "I will make sure the people see your broken body. See what happens when you defy me. And they shall dance and rejoice over your grave while singing my praises. And everything you stood for will end."
"NO! They can't be dead. They're not dead. You can't kill them! They're a champion against everything you aren't. They're going to restore peace and freedom. They're not dead!" Sidekick sobbed hysterically.
Superhero sighed. "It seems I've broken you, too, without even touching you." They grabbed Villain's hair once more and began to drag them towards Sidekick. "Behold your champion." They tossed Villain's limp body like a doll at Sidekick.
Sidekick's knees buckled as they tried to keep Villain upright. They ended up on their back with Villain on top of them. The chains pulled Sidekick's arms up and around Villain making it such that they hugged Villain to them.
Sidekick let out a loud keening cry as they stared into Villain's lifeless eyes, mere inches from their own. Blood dripped from Villain's mouth onto Sidekick's face. Sidekick could feel their clothes become saturated and coated with blood from Villain's chest and gut wounds. Sidekick knew the hole in Villain's chest was over their heart. They knew because their own heart was covered with blood. Anyone would have been killed instantly with that kind of wound. Villain was dead.
"I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. Please. Don't be dead. Please. Villain. Villain. I need you. Please. Villain. Come back."
"Ah, ah," Superhero yanked Villain out of Sidekick's arms, "can't let you have them too long, little one. I have to ensure to give the people what they want." They looked into Villain's sightless eyes. "And they have been wanting your death for a long time."
They began to drag Villain towards the door. "Wait, please," Sidekick begged, "leave Villain's.....Villain's body with me. I....I need to honor them."
Superhero chuckled darkly as they turned and faced Sidekick. They lifted Villain high and shoved their hand through the gaping hole in Villain's chest. "There's nothing left to honor, little one. I destroyed their heart. This is just a broken husk." They turned once more to the door. "But don't worry. You'll be joining them in the after life soon."
Sidekick's memories became fuzzy after that. They didn't know how long it took Right Hand to find them. They didn't know where Villain's body was. They didn't know how to find them. What they did know was that they were back in Lair and in the med bay.
And they hadn't been able to leave since. Villain was dead. Villain was dead and the chance for freedom was dead. Villain was dead and it was all their fault.

ok so. morrison is a monster Thang who was not always a monster. that also means there are Other monsters and also magic so thats important to note
morrison, as a child, was raised by his family for a good bit of his life. he was well off and happy, though as he got a bit older his parents left for more and more things, leaving him alone for longer periods of time. at some point he causes such a mess while theyre gone that they decide to hire a sitter.
said sitter was Not a good person. she was a practicing magic user at the time and used morrison as part of her 'practice' (she used him as a human target, though thankfully nothing was enough to leave permanent damage). his parents didn't really believe him when he told them bc they knew he was played rough and bruised himself before, plus the sitter would act all nice and behaved when they came back so it OBVIOUSLY couldn't be her.
it did all come to a head when she decided to get ambitious and try a form changing spell on him. one thing leads to another and morrison is now. The Beast. but obv child sized beast bc he Was A Child when he got blasted by the beast beam. hes sobbing and trying to walk on new legs and the sitter does feel a little bad but after having to deal with her for so long he just gets fed up and runs away. this is the last time he sees his family.
years go by (he's a young adult now) and he's living off whatever he can find in garbage and just lying around. hes constantly on the move, scared that if someone sees a monster they'll try and kill him. he settles into one backyard for the night, hoping he's hidden away, but a young girl finds him as shes playing outside. instead of violence, she offers him kindness and some proper food. her parents come out to find her and they also don't try to kill him and instead allow him to stay until he feels he needs to leave (on the condition he doesn't leave the property which he agrees to). for a while everything is good and he finally feels like he has a place again.
but UH OH something has to get fucked up. while hes playing with the young girl she gets injured and the parents run out and immediately assume it was him. they grab whatever they can to attack him and grab a nasty looking garden tool that manages to gouge his eye out, giving him his scar. he runs away in a panic and is back to scavenging for whatever he can find.
a few more years pass by (he's an adult now) eventually he just. gets So tired. he stumbles into a snowy forest and collapses against the trunk of one of them, ready to just. give up. but thats when Owl (another oc of mine) finds him and offers him a second (though to be fair its' probably more like third) chance of comfort :)
thats about it for all his major plot stuff, but if you'd like me to go into him and Owl's relationship and story i would be more than hapy to :D

Note
I dunno what au you're making something for but hit me
Go off
Blast me with the idea beam i wanna hear it
OK SO
Side order
Tumblr media
But
1: agent 8 is alone
2: the monsters/enemies represent diffirent kinda of trauma and mistreatment and all that that 8 went through
TW FOR BODY HORROR
I already have one of the major enemies down. This AU's Parallel Canon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are a slimy entity that posseses 5 diffirent mangled bodies throughout the duration of the game, each with.. varying degrees of of damage and mangling.
AHEM
Now for the lore of the Canon. Here there is only one entity instead of a hivemind(from what i can tell of actual parallel. Unless they're just a quintet.), like i said, it is an entity that simply switches between diffirent mutilated bodies and puppets them accordingly to their weapon. Mechanically each of the Canon's bodies are diffirent. Some more stealthy some more dirrect. All the creatures as a representation of Agent 8's past trauma. Their worst experiences and actions. And the Canon is a good example.
It represents manipulation. Specifically through the propaganda that the higher up octarians spread to keep their people loyal and obedient. And the fear of whatever happened to those who tried to speak out. Hence why it taunts Agent 8 and spouts the falsities that Agent 8 had probably listened to for years. This causes damage to Agent 8's sanity meter, so it's best to scare away or distract Canon with a ink mine, suction bomb or toxic mist. (These i chose specifically to relate to trench warfare. As bombs and gas canisters were thrown into the trenches and mines laid out on the battlefield. And Canon represents manipulation from higher powers of a civilization that is highly militaristic.)
Allso take to mind I AM UNEXPERIENCED IN WRITING SO THIS WHOLE THING MIGHT BE SHIT LOL
Another thing i have down is the theme. Obviously.. trauma.
And this is where the Lost in Vivo inspiration for this AU kicks in.
Ilarily to the actual side order.. this is a simulation of sorts. Likely created by Marina. And it is meant to act as a form of exposure therapy similarly to the world of Lost in Vivo. All the environments and monsters represent 8's insecurities, fears and trauma. And by defeating them, 8 gets stronger and all that.
The monsters allso hhave a ranking system seperated into cattergories.
Mental (how much damage they do to 8's sanity meter), Physical (their damage from hitting you obviously), their danger (how advanced and adaptive their AI would be aswell as how much of a threat they are overall), Gimmicks and Effects.
For example.
Parallel Canon #1
Mental: -5
Physical: 8 to 20 (or more.)
Danger: 45
Gimmick: They adapt and copy you. To the point where you can barely attack them. However throwing a bomb or toxic mist right as they're attacking distracts and disorients them.
Effect: They cause agent 8 to take mental damage continuosly until knocked out. So get rid of them quick.
ALLSO no pearl drone in this AU. 8 is completely helpless and alone.
Edit: forgot to mention!! Parallel Canon, despite how bloodied they seem, is actually fairly clean when it comes to infections and such. As they obsessively disinfect their diffirent bodies over and over to seem presentable to their imaginary squadron. So yes, for anyone who wants to know because i know SOMEONE does, this version of Canon is still kissable aslong as you don't mind touching a mangled machine infested with dead coral and boils of jelleton flesh.
