Alright so...
You're telling me that the reason why Adrien said this to Kagami in Miracle Queen after they almost kissed
Tumblr media
It's because he previously felt something in Puppeteer 2.0 when Marinette "kissed" him?
Tumblr media
And he unconsciously noticed it was just not the same????

Dear show:
S2’s Maledictator: “Oh, it's not just her— actually, I don't even care about her— it's because I have no reason to be here: nobody likes me; I have no friends. I'm… useless.”
S5’s Derision: “Forgive me? What do I care about her forgiveness? I couldn't care less about Dupain-Cheng's feelings! She and the likes of her only exist to suffer for my entertainment. Why bother having power if you can't use it against those who don't have any?”.

Girl: *is mean because of abandonment*
People: she’s a terrible person
(Well, not everyone can keep their trauma/angst to themselves like you 😅)
I truly miss the “real” Chloé before they decided a grown man was more redeemable than a 14-year old victim of neglect and emotional abuse 😭

I know how Thomas Astruc feels about Chloé, but honestly? If I didn’t, I’d still hold out a lot of hope for her eventual redemption!
The Miracle Queen plot twist did not really damage my opinion of her. In fact, it kind of makes sense to me: a 14-year-old with abandonment issues would interpret a lack of trust from her idol as rejection. If my memory serves me right, she was the first person to reject an akuma, and understandably feels hurt that her loyalty wasn’t rewarded.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(There are striking similarities between this storyline and Chat Noir’s S4 arc - it would be easy to build from that to bring her back into the light!)
And then there’s this scene in Emotion, where Chloé seems so desperate for connection! She’s surrounded by the rich and famous kids she claims to belong with, and yet she still feels alone. So when she spots what she thinks is a new face, she’s elated and immediately reaches out to her. Just look how excited she is as she grabs Marinette’s arm, compliments her, and tries to find common ground by clumsily mentioning her “underling” - the closest thing she has to an actual friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Felix, who has done much more questionable things (and who Thomas Astruc apparently also hated for a while), can be redeemed, I don’t see why she couldn’t! There’s definitely enough to work from anyways.

So, I recently got back into Panty and Stocking (I'm excited for Season 2 to be produced by Studio Trigger, the same people who did Kill la Kill) and now, I have a question:
Was Queen Barby from Episode 2 the main inspiration for Chloe?
Like, look how similar they look:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, look at their villainous forms:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not to mention, both have similar powers where they use bees to mind control people:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, I doubt Thomas Astruc ever heard of Panty and Stocking, but considering how it was release 6 years before Miraculous (Since it was most likely being produced at that time), I'm honestly seeing the connections here.
Again, don't take this post too seriously. I just thought that it was a funny coincidence.

god i just rewatched miracle queen and im so fucking sad like holy shit marinette makes one(1) mistake and things go so wrong and she gets so fucked up like god her caring so much for fu and the tear tracks on her face as she says goodbye to him and the responsibilities and stress of the guardianship being placed on her and her giving up on adrien and the sad parting at the end where he sits next to kagami and marinette sadly goes to luka and god all the parts where she like breaksdown and gets comforted by him and god
its like this is the exact moment things started going way downhill for her, the guardianship and the relationship problems leading to the ladynoir conflict in s4 all the way till marinette is forced into another devastating mistake in strikeback and god she is just constantly being fucked over its insane, s3 she loses the miracle box season four she loses the miracle box season 5 she loses the miracle.
i need s6 to like let us see more into marinette and adriens struggles and trauma.

There’s been a recurring tread in Fandom Discouse(TM) or Fanwank for those who tell it like it is. And it revolves around Redemption Arcs.
These type of stories have been the most controversial on various levels for good reasons. It often comes down to how we may identify with or project onto the character in question and the discomfort it may bring.
Specifically in regards to characters that may hit too close to home. Characters who are very much perpetrators of conflict and violence rather than victims. They hurt others for their gain be they sociopathic or just apathetic to what they wrought.
Many have dealt with these precise people in their lives and will thus have very strong words to say when a character of similar attributes appears to be turning themselves around. There will be some deliberation over how “earned” it felt on a narrative level but either way, they are on a better path in life.
For these aforementioned fans among others, it’s a difficult pill to swallow… if not one they nearly choke on. In their eyes, this character is barely even human but a monster in every sense of the word. They’ve hurt characters they love. They’ve either enjoyed it or brushed it off in indifference.
Where does Chloe factor into this? Well… it fascinates me that we got a circle of fandom that advocates for a character, a female character no less, and their could’ve-been development from Mandy but crossing way more lines.
She’s the inciting incidents for nearly every Akuma in Season 1 and is almost intentional about it. While Season 2 would humanize her and show a likely source of her behavior, I have seen more characters get shit for far less and they would rarely mean the things they say or do when in a mood.
There’s also the, um, gender thing. It have especially been my and others observations that a female character is likely to have a borderline hate campaign against them for either exhibiting a trait that male characters will get a pass for or just… making a mistake.
My Adventures With Superman subverted the very long standing secret identity dynamic Clark had with Lois Lane by having the aspiring journalist put the pieces together fast.
Her reaction to Clark not being straight with her was hardly terribly welcoming, especially given her father being deceptive with her. The Fandom’s reaction was extra less welcoming and overlooked her possible complexes over liars in favor of her behavior.
So… why is Chloe somehow exempt? There are likely multiple factor but I think there's a large one that's gone underexamined.
Obviously there's the feeling of being cheated out of a redemption storyline that Season 2 seemed to kick start. Yet it's not like Season 3 just had her be mean again out of the blue. Chloe is still very much a brat even if Despair Bear, Zombizou and her Queen Bee trilogy had her take a good look at herself.
Old habits die hard. Hawk Moth just took the time in Season 3 to gradually give said habits a clean bill of health.
My observations of Fandom Culture at large leads me to feel like Chloe's case is about less what did happen and was undone but more like what seemed to be happening but didn't. Fandom loves the hypothetical. The theories, the speculation. A lot of it is very personalized even when fans come together to pitch their own takes.
As such, there's a personal investment factor in these malleable concepts that's distinct from engaging in the hardwared canon. It's a sandbox where the material you're working with can be molded into what suits you. Canon can be too often, "Here it is: take it or leave it." Fanon is more accomadating to those who might want to change things.
Bare in mind, I'm not trying to advocate for one or the other here. Fanon depends on canon, warts and all, and a Fandom can't flourish without it period. But sometimes we mistake Fanon for what should happen and ignore the innate placeholder status they have. Thus Canon is seen as an intrusion when, well, it's just the show itself.
Another reason may be because for all the grouching about redemption arcs, we've... rarely seen such backslide let alone one that sticks considerably. We've had our Majin Vegetas and Book 2 Finale!Zukos but rarely have we (outside of specific circumstances and specific mediums) had a redemption arc reverse course.
As such, many seem keen to ignore how organic the journey from Queen Bee to Miracle Queen really was. Her insistence of joining the fray with Ladybug, her tendency to shoot her mouth with a sharp tongue to boot returning more like in Stormy Weather 2, making a Bee Signal of all things.
The ground work was laid for Queen Wasp's return and the soil was beyond fertile. Thus her villain arc for Season 4 and 5 involves tripling down on her banal evil from brainstorming Marinette's fall, getting evilized intentionally and keeping Sabrina from sleeping (boy howdy, was Chloe lucky she didn't go to her dad, A police officer :P).
Now... nobody needs to like this or stop disliking what they dislike. It just would be nice if considering other perspectives and looking beyond one's expectations was encouraged.

So Determination has already started to sink my hopes, seeing as how Chloé literally berated Ladybug for losing the miraculous and indirectly caused another akuma out of pettiness and jealousy, but I really do hope they don't go with the predictable route and have Lila easily manipulate her now that they are supposed to be allies.
The thing is, their whole villainous team-up is a great chance to explore Chloé's character beyond the rich spoiled brat aspect of her personality the show's been reinforcing for most of its run. I'm not saying they try to redeem her—that ship has regrettably obviously sailed at this point—, but it'd be good if they went back to the characterisation she was given in seasons 2 and 3 when her time being Queen Bee proved she can actually be rather resourceful and competent when she puts her mind to it.
Tumblr media
Which are qualities she will need if we hope to see something interesting out of her little alliance with Lila.
Personally, I think it would be very compelling if Chloé never really stopped suspecting Lila after the secret formula to call Ladybug fiasco. Or at least if the writers kept that aspect of their relationship consistent and didn't sweep it under the rug now.
As @nobodyfamousposts ‘s posts have proven, I might be setting myself up for disappointment with that one.
If you think about it, after season 3 Chloé has, objectively, no reason to like or trust Lila. Nor does she have a reason to understand why she (Lila) would want to ally herself with her, of all people.
During Miraculer Chloé was about to discover Lila is a liar and a fraud and call her out on the fake secret formula she gave her. And she would have learned the truth hadn't Lila been quick enough to point out Ladybug did come to her, which was the whole point of the stupid dance she made her perform anyways.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does that tell us?
Just like everyone else, Chloé is under the impression that Lila is either best friends with Ladybug, or at least in close contact with her.
With that in mind, why should Chloé ally herself with her after the events of Miracle Queen? More importantly, everyone knows Chloé no longer stands Ladybug, so why would her supposed best friend want anything to do with her?
One could argue their alliance is actually against Marinette, someone whom Lila all but admitted to hate back in Penalteam (but let's be real, she was clearly referring to both Marinette and Ladybug). And while Chloé clearly has a bone to pick with Marinette, from her perspective...Lila has absolutely no reason to dislike her that much?
Because from Chameleon to Ladybug Lila has repeatedly made it so it appears obvious to everyone that the one holding a grudge is Marinette against her, while she seemingly acts like she respects and tries to be her friend just like everyone else in the class. With that in mind, Chloé should have no reason to believe Lila hates her too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here's where Chloé’s characterisation could benefit from!
Chloé got confirmation from Lila that she hates Marinette, meaning she's not quite the saint she makes herself out to be to their classmates. I believe it would be very interesting if Chloé were the one to realise how much of a liar she really is by pretending to be friends with her while she tries to expose her for intending to use her.
Tumblr media
I mean, there is absolutely no way Chloé would just accept the mere idea of being used by someone. Her! Chloé Bourgeois manipulated by some nobody? Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!
Who knows, it might even be satisfying and fun to watch if it's Chloé, of all people, who ends up exposing Lila for the liar she is. Because maybe Marinette will try to listen to Adrien's advice and take the high road. But Chloé? Yes, she's definitely that petty.
I don't know, maybe some less emotionally-driven, more objective analysts like @kisilinramblings will be able to come up with a more likely outcome, but I just feel that, despite of everything, Chloé’s character deserves better than to be reduced to being Lila's puppet.

“It still disturbs me how Master Fu's whole speech in Miracle Queen was pushing the lesson that everybody makes mistakes, but then the show still hammers in the idea that Chloe is incapable of change. I understand that the writers are trying to teach us that some people don't change, but both Marinette and Chloe are literal children (older children, but still are children). Just the fact that the writers/creators can give literal terrorist sympathetic moments but call a 14-year-old girl evil is massively disturbing. But there’s “nothing wrong with the show” if you let others tell you.”

Instead of Chloe getting thrown in a trashcan they could have made her the William Dunbar of Miraculous or something
THIS GIVES ME AN IDEA
You can leave all they wrote until season 3 , I have an AU idea which is one season long of Chloe going missing after Hawkmoth makes her an akumatized fallen hero, and she acts as the season's main villain instead clashing with Ladybug

Hi I'm new here, and some people recommend me your feralnette au, but when it start? And what the au is about?
the feralnette au starts just after the season 3 finale, somewhat after miracle queen. Reaching a mental breaking point, Marinette can't handle her social life, her grades, being ladybug and being the guardian without giving up one of them. in an act of incredible sacrifice and self sabotage, she cuts herself off from the class to focus more on investigating hawkmoth, and to distance herself from her friends, believing some part of herself is the problem with akumatizations.
After such a change, the Marinette we have is much more jaded and much more tired, and in order to change her reputation of "everyday ladybug," to further distance her civilian persona and her ladybug persona, she begins changing her interactions with people in her daily lives - resorting to violence or sarcasm when in the past she would've been the first to talk things out. (thus, the "feral" part of feralnette)
shit happens. stuff gets wildin. we get a little blasphemous, a little heretical, and a little eldritched. talk about edgy. keep in mind I started this a few years ago (oh god) so some stuff isn't going to align with the new seasons of mlb.
Chapter One
Chapter Two
Chapter Three (ongoing.)
the pacing in the first chapter is a bit funky, as I actually wasn't planning on making it a full fledged comic, but something-something i have no self control lmao.

MLB MQ Boop
It was impossible. Of all people, it shouldn't have been her. The streaming rain couldn't hide the truth though. Cat Noir had tried. He had fought tooth and nail. Dragonbug could see him, struggling to rise even now as the sky cried their defeat.
Three shapes strode through the rain towards her, others stood impassively behind. The two tall shapes resolved first, purple and blue. Enemies to the core. Mayura wore a grim smile.
The third resolved last, the grey resolved to black through the rain, and yellow highlights follows. Miracle Queen. Chloé.
Hawkmoth didn't even bother to hide his fiendish glee, "Now Miracle Queen, take her Miraculous. Give me the Ladybug and the Cat. The rest are yours. You will be the only hero in all of Paris."
Miracle Queen stepped forward, box held under one arm. Her glowing wasps formed an aura around her, even in the rain. Purple within blue eyes stared down at Dragonbug's bent form. Dragonbug struggled to rise. She could still fight, she would still fight. She had two miraculouses. Seven on one? It didn't matter. Broken body? It didn't matter. She-
"You see Ladybug? Even Hawkmoth knows it. Once a hero, always a hero. Too dangerous? Ha. You should know I never let anyone get in my way." Miracle Queen leaned down. She reached out with one hand. Dragonbug's world shrank to those spread fingers. She saw the end and her racing mind turned completely blank. "Boop." Miracle Queen's finger touched the end of Dragonbug's nose. The stolen Miracle Box fell into her numb hands.
"Now, let's get these ridiculous losers."
Despair turned to disbelief.
The impassive silhouettes advanced, resolving into the other mind-blanked heroes. They encircled Hawkmoth and Mayura from behind.
"Ha, looks like the fur's about to fly, now." Cat Noir had pushed himself up on his baton.
Disbelief turned to hope.
Pain fell away. A yellow and black grip helped Dragonbug rise as the others closed in.
Miracle Queen ducked under Dragonbug's arm and supported her with a shoulder. "I promised I wouldn't disappoint you."
