Thank you to the lovely @kingsofeverything for her post! I saw it, so here I am posting my own. This fic was originally part of BHFF but sadly life got in the way. I’m not sure if I’ll revisit and complete it, but it’s lurking in my docs for sure. Enjoy!

“You promised me,” Harry says, wearing nothing but his pants and a lovebite on his neck.

Louis shrinks into himself as Harry stands so quickly the stool clatters behind him.

“Louis, you promised me.” Harry says again, insistent like maybe he's trying to comprehend or control his own disbelief, but all it feels like is a knife driving into Louis’s gut.

Louis finds great interest in his hands. Short thin fingers, veins webbed across the back of his knuckles, the blue tint of them a bruising purple the closer to his wrist they weave, hidden under the jumper he’d thrown on before Harry dragged himself out of bed. Louis pulls the sleeves tight over his knuckles, twisting the cuffs in a habit he's formed since it all became a little too visible. He’s been careful. Keeps to the shadows, doesn’t taunt the criminals the way he used to.

“I-” Louis starts, but the words shrivel and die before they can form. He’s been careful, just not careful enough.

There’s no excuse, no way to make up for it when he vividly remembers making that promise. Louis lied to himself as much as he’d lied to Harry, and now he’s strung up in a web of his own making. He told himself it didn't count the first few times, that Harry would understand, that he wouldn’t find out. He can’t even apologise, because maybe if he meant it he wouldn’t have done it. Wouldn’t have kept doing it.

Harry stops at the edge of the counter, keeping the corner between them like he's not sure of getting closer. After a morning of cuddling, that above all fucking hurts.

Harry’s lip wavers as he aborts saying something, licks his lips as tension grows, and pierces Louis with an aching gaze. “Were you planning on breaking up with me?”

The air knocks from Louis’s chest like a sucker punch, his knees giving out as a rush of nausea warps his vision. He clenches the edge of the counter to keep himself from falling.

“Why the fuck would you say that?” And he doesn't mean to yell, but damnit he's grasping on little self-control he has not to hyperventilate at the suggestion of them- of Harry-

“I'm trying to understand why you’ve been lying to me about something like this. How can-" Harry's voice breaks as he gestures at first angrily and then weaker as he loses strength. His eyes are wet as they struggle to stay on Louis. "How can I know there’s nothing else?”

“There is nothing else.” Louis insists, not caring if it sounds cliche or over-used because it’s true. “I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to worry, I don’t want to be the reason you feel like shit.” Harry opens his mouth to protest but Louis pins him with a glare. "I know you! I know you'd loose sleep and struggle to focus on your thesis even though your whole fucking future depends on it. I couldn't do that to you, not when it means so much."

The quiet that follows feels delicate. They're both not breathing right, and Louis's scared as his words echo in his head that for the very first time he's not sure. He knows how he feels, and what he wants, but somewhere in the last five minutes he's lost a certainty he's had for years that by the end of this day Harry's still going to go to bed and wake up in the same bed as him tomorrow and every day after.

“You think a thesis means more than...” Harry shakes his head and wipes his eyes with a weak chuckle filled with pain that Louis never, ever wants to hear again. Harry sniffs and blinks when he looks up again. “After everything-” A vacuum swallows the air in the room at Harry’s cut off noise of distress in the back of his throat.

Everything. The discovery of powers and the criminals who tried to take advantage and all the blood stains and cut lips and every single tight hug that could have been the last. The near misses and the sure wins. Young and figuring out the world and each other, Spiderman a constant presence in their life that dictated every decision.

But they aren't those people anymore. Now Harry belongs in this world, with the Louis Tomlinson who has a bachelor’s degree in the ancient and useless art of journalism. They shut the door on Spiderman years ago, they mourned the loss of all he meant and moved on.

Or they were supposed to.

Maybe Harry did, but Louis... for Louis, Spiderman still exists in the darkest part of the night, in a muted black suit Harry’s never even seen that was made to disappear in the shadows. Spiderman isn’t a hero anymore. He’s just a ghost Louis can’t shake.

The day started out dreadfully, but fate had something different in store for Louis that day. A chance encounter between a famous pop star and an everyday lad, gave way to an evening that neither of them would ever forget. Prompt 74. Louis is Christmas shopping for his little sisters who currently only care about one thing: the world’s biggest boy band, that one Harry Styles happens to be a member of (maybe the other guys are in it too??). Louis heads to the store to buy all of their albums, shirts, posters, dolls, and whatnot to gift to his sisters. What happens when he (literally) bumps into Harry while pushing a shopping cart filled with items with his face on them?

Of course a good Christmas fic will end up including Louis' birthday too. This is an adorable fic with two boys who are trying very hard to communicate and continually almost-failing. But love is in the air and it's Christmas (eve)! Enjoy this adorable fic with a nice tin of baklava to give the season some sweetness.

My main priority is TMWYB and this was simply just something on the side. I have always been insanely fascinated and intrigued by anything that has something to do with the Titanic, hence why I picked the Titanic storyline as an AU for my Larry fanfic.

Hymn To The Sea

How he did it, Louis Tomlinson did not know. He managed to get his hands on a ticket to board the Titanic in a game of Bridge. He was lucky, he truly was. Louis had wished to visit the United States of America but never had he ever thought he would be able to go. Especially not sailing on a ship as grand and luxurious as the Titanic.

The male hurried to the harbour to board the ship. There were a lot of people present, and all had come to see the Unsinkable ship sail off. It was a magical sight, one that Louis only dared to dream. But he was living it now, he was genuinely experiencing an event such as magical as this one. He was running around making sure to get to the vast ship in time. After all, the vessel was about to leave in less than thirty minutes. Louis had a ticket for the third-class, he would be sharing his compartment with three other people, and honestly, he couldn’t care less. All he ever wanted was to see the land of dreams with his own eyes. The young male was awestruck as he approached the large ship. He had found his way to the line and waited until he was allowed to board. It was extremely crowded, people were pushing and pulling at each other. Most were trying to get on board as soon as possible, but not Louis. He was already lucky enough to be able to sail on the gigantic ship, he could definitely wait his turn. It was a good day at the haven after all.

Cars were honking and Louis looked up to see a few gorgeous automobiles arrive. The rich. They would be travelling first-class, something that Louis could only ever dream of—and at times he didn’t even dare to dream it. He didn’t know what it was like to be rich, or even to have a stable amount of money. Louis made his way selling his poems, writing for papers, and occasionally he sketched a few drawings. He watched as the rich stepped out of the car, they had servants unpacking their bags for them as they moved towards the ship with their heads high. Louis watched as more elitist people waited until they could board the ship, and his eyes fell on one very particular soul. It was a male with long brown curls. Louis couldn’t see much, only the male’s silhouette, but he knew in his heart that the other was gorgeous. A poem started forming in his head, the words just came to him and he wanted to write them down, but he couldn’t. Not with this many people around. Louis watched the tall male with the brown curls, behind the seemingly young Adonis stood a slightly older chap—gentleman, apologies—he had his arms on the curly-haired’s waist, holding him almost possessively. It kind of disgusted Louis, the way the older gentleman was holding the young god-like male. Louis tried to study the green-eyed’s face, he couldn’t properly read the other as the two of them were distanced from each other and the sun shining in his eyes really did not make it any easier. But Louis thought to recognise agony and despair, like the curly-haired needed a way to escape. He looked like he was suffocating and Louis wanted to help him. But he could never. They would not allow him even near the first-class passengers.

The hierarchy in the world made Louis mad. It was unfair, life was unfair. Why was his life worth less than the life of someone rich? He had never felt sorry for himself, he had felt unlucky at times, that was most certain, but he had never seen someone look as unhappy as the male with the brown and curly locks. Louis was still watching the rich as they boarded, but he was being cut off when he felt a push in his back.

‘Keep on walking, will you lad?’ A voice behind him sounded. Louis looked over his shoulder and muttered a soft apology. He kept on moving, not looking back. He was ready to start this new chapter of his life, and before he knew it, he was in line to officially board R.M.S. Titanic. When he looked up the gorgeous male and his seemingly possessive companion had disappeared.
