People acting like someone who enjoys enemies-to-lovers pairings means they will then ACTIVELY seek out a relationship with a mean person on purpose have no concept of how anything works in real life. Yeah. sure, I enjoy enemies to lovers. But in real life? I don't really have much patience for anyone I don't immediately get along with.
It also ignores the reality that in real life, abusers don't PRESENT themselves as "bad people" in the first place, often they present themselves as very charming, charismatic, and likable, and don't reveal their true colors until they're sure they have their victim under their control. That's how they get people, otherwise the victim wouldn't have started into a relationship with them in the first place, to claim that they WOULD, on purpose, is really victim-blamey.
Think of all the YouTubers or e-celebs who got outed as abusers or groomers, what do people always say? "I can't believe this! They seemed so nice, I never thought they would do something like this!"
