You know, when we British people complain about the heat, British heat of 24+ degrees easily feels like 31+ degrees. It just hits different. We normally have awful weather, we are not built for withstanding heat. Our houses are built for keeping heat in since our weather is normally quite chilly. I’ll repeat this for anyone who’s currently laughing at us ( I will admit it is quite funny how much we complain about the heat) Our houses are built with the prime purpose of keeping heat *in*. So when it’s the lovely temperature of 27-29 degrees, even with the windows open, it feels like it’s 35 degrees. I’ve been to Spain and I’ve experienced heat over there of 35 degrees being a mild and even sometimes referred to as a cooler temperature for certain days but Spain is a warm country, so the villas and housing over there allow the air to flow and the houses do not trap heat. We british people took one look at the rainy and cold weather we normally have in summer and went ‘oh hell no if this is summer, winter is going to be worse and we’re not gonna freeze in the winters’ so now when the weather is lovely and seen as mild everywhere else in the world, we’re over here chugging water and sweating so many buckets, we might as well of set up camp in the Sahara Desert.
