thinking about how i’m a real sucker for what i’m calling the “straight man-funny man” couple type (where one person’s serious and the other is a goofball and they’re best friends and the flirting is top notch)

this is my comprehensive list thus far [i’d like further input please and thank you]

Did I watch 12 episodes of Virgin River in basically 24 hours? Why yes, yes I did. This season trumps last season without any thought at all.  Spoilers under the cut

- The Baby is Jack’s! I was so relieved. I really didn’t want to go down the route of having a law case with crazy ex mother in law.  - Paige coming back was a bit of a shock - but it kinda seems like that Vince storyline might be done? (Please be done) - Ricky leaving was so sad! Him and Lizzie are definitely meant to be. - Denny was a weird character. I kind of went from liking him to not liking him and switching between at regular intervals. - Cameron! What an idiot. Look, have your opinion on Jack (because he was a dick in this season) but leaving because you disagree on someone elses partner? And then Mel leaving the practice because of it? Craziness! - Brady and Brie are adorable! I love their relationship. That creep wanting her to sign a Disclosure agreement. Here’s hoping Brady has a lid on that rage 😑 - I KNEW IT. (I also expect everybody knew it. Worst secret ever kept) Those btwins not being Jack’s finally being confirmed. Charmaine must be the most hated character ever I swear. - I can’t believe Charmaine was only 5 months pregnant and Mel was only 8 weeks?! Such a short amount of time for so much to happen! Wondering if they’ll time jump for next season. Seems like they could pretty easily. Then again, they might just make Mel pregnant for another season. - Mel kept hugging her ‘baby bump’ so many times this season. Hahaha. Probably unintentional, but wow. Nobody really suspected a thing. - Let’s not discuss creepy grandma lady. Wiped Calvin off the earth like nothing.  Scream about Virgin River with me 😁

It is great to just watch a show with expressions and evolutions of healthy relationships where they grow individually and together, dealing with grief, loss, the past, deeply buried guilt and just being human.

Loving the other person the way they want and how they understand love, for example, Mel camping out at night with Jack.

Soothing with the calming sound of the waves, the trees dancing, blooming flowers, sunrise, sunset, the beams of sunlight doing peekaboo through the leaves casting shadows of different shapes, brooks, mountains, rocks, and rich expanse of land.

The rich sense of community with open communication, vulnerability, and emotional nudity.

I love how they delve into each person's mental state like Hope's need for solitude, to make sense out of this loss, anger, empty spaces, and passive aggressiveness.

How do you help a loved one that needs help and yet refuses that help, while you watch them unraveling before your eyes grappling with so much hurt?

Sometimes the toughest people to seek forgiveness from is the one we behold in the mirror.

The guilt is unforgiving, crushing, drowning. We try to come up for air and with each attempt, its heavy boots push us back in.

Everyone has grown tremendously from Mel who is more forthcoming about how she feels, especially with Jack, and more accepting of help.

Doc is more patient and now has delegating duties on lock.

Lizzie takes up responsibilities now without fuss and gets along with her grandma better and has come to love this place she despised so much.

Brady has evolved too. He is less impulsive and considers the consequences of his actions now before making decisions, learning how best to support his loved one.

Jack admitting he needs help and getting it. It's a brave thing ti rise to the occasion of dealing with one's inner demons.

Hope's story arc this season sure challenges her and pushes her to grow too, to be more willing to compromise.

Friends with an intimate knowledge of you, allow you the freedom to be you and hold your hands through the good, the bad, and the crispy.

The finale stressed me out so much and also confirmed what I had suspected all along.

"I'm not wild about throwing up or waddling, but I sure love carrying around a little piece of you. You're right--you make excellent babies."

Finding this clip out of context while looking for the soundtrack felt like a fever dream.

After watching nearly the entirety of Doctor Who in the past two and a half months, I've noticed some archetypes for companions:

Hyper-competent, and extremely intelligent young woman who the Doctor treats as a daughter

Disaster bisexual who the Doctor treats as a daughter

Companion romantic interest who the Doctor treats like crap, including calling them the wrong name and talking down to them

Someone the Doctor considers "primitive" and incompetent, though they are far more competent than they appear despite being prone to violence

Legendary musician Jack White of the White Stripes excoriated Trump-loving celebrities by name for buddying up to Donald Trump in public at a UFC fight in Las Vegas over the weekend. Trump was spotted glad-handing and chatting with Joe Rogan, Guy Fieri, Mark Wahlberg, and noted antisemite Mel Gibson. Jack White took to Instagram to share his thoughts:

"Anybody who ‘normalizes’ or treats this disgusting fascist, racist, con man, disgusting piece of shit Trump with any level of respect is ALSO disgusting in my book.
