Xan: Honey, I'm bored. I need something to do. Dez: *half asleep* Make Alastor in the Sims. Xan: K. (five minutes later) Xan: Done. *beat* Honey, I'm bored. Dez: Wow. Okay. See if you can make Angel. Xan: K. (half an hour later--)
That logo and background took longer than the Sims.

Lately I've been considering a spin on morally dubious women from Greek epics, where Medea plays a role akin to Captain Nemo (foreign political exile with a grudge against the political Powers That Be and incredible expertise in sciences no mere mortal can begin to fathom) while Circe is more Dr. Moreau (sadistic researcher who experiments with castaways on her island)
@tabby-shieldmaiden, @headspace-hotel, @loki-zen: the post about expanding roles for female characters, as promised

Hotel Room - Luxor, Egypt 6:00 AM in the morning
Jotaro and Polnareff are sharing a hotel room together, sleeping in two separate beds, but something crazy happened that morning.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Polnareff: Zzzzzzzz....... *Waking up* Hm?....*Sees the lump next to him* .....Ugh, dammit, Iggy, trying to jump me while I'm sleeping huh? Well, that isn't going to work, ya litt- *Removes the covers to reveal a sleeping Medea*
Medea: Zzzzzzzzz.......
Polnareff: *Blushes in shock and embarrassment* O///O......
Medea: *Wakes up from the cold* Mmmm...Huh? *Sees Polnareff*
Medea and Polnareff:......... *Screams in panic and confusion* AHHHHHH!
Jotaro: *Wakes up, confused and tired* Huh what!? *Taking out [Star Platinum]* Is there an enemy!?
Polnareff: *Falls off his bed* OW!
Medea: *Covers herself with a blanket* What are you doing here!?
Polnareff: What am I doing here!? What are YOU doing here!?
Medea: But this is my room!
Polnareff: No it's not! It's my room! *Points at his and Jotaro's stuff in the corner of the room*
Medea: What am I doing here then!? Did you carry me!?
Jotaro: *Annoyed* SHUT THE FUCK UP! IT'S TOO EARLY FOR THIS!!!
Medea and Polnareff: *Silenced out of fear* ...................
~A few minutes later, in Joseph's room~
Joseph: *Summons [Hermit Purple], unaware of the bottle caps on his back* Alright, let's see what really happened last night.
Medea: Good, because I wanna prove to these bastards that they're perverts.
Polnareff: I'm not a pervert! I've been in my room asleep the whole time! >///<*
Jotaro: It's probably just sleepwalking, or an enemy Stand making us look like idiots.
Joseph: *Uses his Stand to hook up to the TV*
TV: *Shows some grainy footage of Medea's room and Jotaro's and Polnareff's room from their TV's POV, split into two and colored green via night vision. The three Stand users are very much asleep, the time shows that it's past midnight*
Joseph: Let's fast forward this a little. *Speeds it up*
TV: *Speeds up for a bit until something weird happened at 2:45 AM*
Joseph: Oh! *Rewinds it a bit before playing normally* There.
TV: *Shows Medea's blanket being removed by itself before Medea began to float by herself*
Polnareff: *Confused* What the hell???
TV: *The door to Jotaro and Polnareff's room opens up, showing Medea getting carried there before being placed in Polnareff's bed and they're left alone all night, the footage ends there*
Joseph: You see, Medea? It's nobody's fault but whatever carried you to the room.
Medea: Then who the hell did this though? Was it one of our Stands?
Joseph: Hm, there's only one way to find out. *He rewinds the footage back* First, I'll rewind it back a few seconds before it starts, then I'll enhance the footage so you can see ghosts. *Does so*
Avdol: I think that only works in the movies.
Joseph: I did it once when I kept finding empty bags of shredded cheese in the cooler, turns out it was [Silver Chariot] that's been taking them.
Jotaro: *Glares at Polnareff* Pol, did you know about this?
Polnareff: *Holding a bag of shredded cheese*.......*Hides it behind his back* I'm not on trial here... >_>
Joseph: That being said, here we go. *Resumes footage*
TV: *Now enhanced, the same footage plays the same way as before, only this time a Stand showed up.*
Medea: Hm?
TV: *The Stand looked strangely feminine in stature, has long hair, and covered in belts, it was [Flogging Molly] carrying Medea to Polnareff's bed, they then disappeared after tucking her in*
Joseph: Oh good, it wasn't an enemy Stand at all, just [Flogging Molly] wanting to move her to a different bed. *Smirks* That's oddly sweet of them doing that for her XD
Avdol: *Snickering* X3
Polnareff: Why me though!?
Medea: *She manifests her Stand just to glare at her* [Mollyyyyyyyyyy].... <_<***
[Flogging Molly]: *Back towards them, pressing forefingers* 👉👈.........
Medea: What do you have to say for yourself?
[Flogging Molly]: *Turns to her, shyly* Kiru kiru...
Medea: Who the hell ask you to do that to me? You trying to make me look bad?
[Flogging Molly]: Kiru... kiru kiru... kiru...
Polnareff: That's why you reached out to me?
Avdol: Hm, it seems whatever your Stand's doing is a cry for help.
Medea: *Irritated* I need help!? I don't need help from these wankers! We're DIO's Agents, not Crusaders!
[Flogging Molly]: Kiru kiru, kiru...
Medea: Whose side are ya on!? >o<***
[Flogging Molly]: *Chops her forehead* Kiru!
Medea: Ow! >_<
Jotaro: Good grief...
Joseph: .....Sooooo who's wants breakfast? *Feels an ashtray hit his back* What the????
- [Flogging Molly] causes a ruckus in the morning trying to get Medea to reach out for help.
I finished the drawing I promised, this took longer than it should've because I've drawn Polnareff fully before nor have I've drawn Avdol, I worked really hard trying to get these two accurate, that and I got distracted by the internet again. That being said, onto the story(I think I created a "Pulp Fiction" scenario with it).
This drawing is a prequel to this: Link, which fully explains how she ended up in the hospital as seen here: Link The drawing here also takes place after this: Link ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After their run in with Mariah and Alessi, the Crusaders and Medea drive back to Aswan from Luxor to rest and tell the hospitalized Kakyoin about their experiences(and poke fun at Medea for her plans backfiring).
During their down time, Medea returns to the hotel to take a shower and get some fresh clothes because she got dirtied up when Jotaro dropped kicked her during the fight in Luxor, with Avdol and Polnareff keeping her company since she's not allowed to be alone(what with being an agent of DIO and all). While in the shower, the body foundation Medea's been using on herself got washed off, revealing a bunch of bite-like welts on her back and her neck, which hurts every time she showers in hot water.
During which, Medea starts getting a bad feeling that something isn't right, she can't explain it but she feels like something bad is about to happen to her, and [Flogging Molly] urges her to get help, but she refuses to...
It wasn't until she started feeling hot and tired that the feeling start growing worse, and it only escalated further when she starting feeling dizzy, breathless, and cold to the touch, as well as [Flogging Molly] starting to fizz out. That's when she got out of the shower and looked herself in the mirror, she sees that her skin's becoming mottled and pale, and the area around her welts have become redder and darker, she panicked when she realized that these are signs of Blood Poisoning.
Medea started screaming for help until Polnareff overheard her and was shocked to find her in such a state, Avdol even saw the welts and identified them as Vampire bites. They took her back to the hospital and once inside, Avdol told the others that Medea's sick and needs help.
While examining the infection, they found out that this was caused by DIO(thanks to the SPW Doctors testing the blood and Iggy smelling the bites) as it has Vampiric properties, so Joseph and the SPW Doctors started taking care of this problem until about an hour later, they were able to remove the Vampiric properties with Hamon and stabilize the infection so now it can be treated normally, saving Medea's life. Afterwards, the Crusaders came together and theorized how did this happen and why DIO gave her Blood Poisoning, eventually coming to the conclusion that he infected her with it as a fail safe in case she fails her Mission similar to a fleshbud, and that someone must've ratted her out about her failure(Spoiler Alert: it was Hol Horse but it wasn't his fault), meaning she's no longer useful to DIO.
When they told Medea this theory, she finally breaks down crying and admits to them how she truly feels about DIO:
She only joined his side just to get revenge on Jason and because she felt bad for him being hurt by Jonathan, but she's more scared of him than she is loyal to him, she never wanted to be involved with his century long grudge nor witness the horrors caused by him and his agents in the first place.
She also admits to losing her chastity to him months prior, which explains the Vampire bites and why she has to hide them with makeup, she didn't want anyone to find out and calls herself a filthy slut(Polnareff: Don't say that! You're not a slut!).
After hearing this, the group realized that Medea is in serious danger and in pain, so they have to admit her to the hospital with Kakyoin. While Jotaro commented that they now don't have a mole, Avdol mentions that her safety and recovery is the highest priority right now, they would have to find DIO's Mansion by themselves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Medea King belongs to me
why there's no problem with me opening up grimm's law & verner's law next to a mando'a phrases page because there's no way i actually will go through with it.
of course not.
just because the original dha werda verda was created with the instruction of "make the language Germanic" doesn't mean.
why do i do this.
because i would do this in real life. i have done this in real life because my brain goes 'oh, default greek pronunciation, c. 1390 bce, obviously' before 'ohhhhh, it's modern'. because i'm not even in classical greek, i'm in mycenaean greek, nearly a millennia prior, where there's qa/gwa instead of b.
i just think it would be hilarious if two people were speaking mando'a to each other, but they were each speaking different chronolects (which i discovered was an actual word today, not something i would have to make up!), like that story about the latin professor only speaking ancient greek and using a copy of medea to explain he needed to stay an extra night in his hotel in this post.
like, me’vaar ti gar [meh-VAR tee-GAR] could have formerly been:
me’vaar di ɣar [high germanic consonant shift reversed]
me’véyér dey ɣér [late proto-germanic shifts reversed]
me’phéyér dhey hér [some early proto-germanic shifts reversed]
Crimes of Impulse - Murders of Jealousy and Rage
Impulse crimes are commonly referred to as ‘crimes of passion’ or acts carried out in the ‘heat of the moment’. Often the ‘passion’ concerns a romantic or sexual relationship, or may simply mean no more than any strong emotion one is experiencing such as rage or anger.
Broadly speaking, crimes can often be broken up into two defined categories: expressive and instrumental. Expressive crimes, or our crimes of impulse, are contrasted by instrumental crimes; those preceded by planning, and carried out with malice aforethought. Certain motives behind crimes are judged as more understandable and forgivable; others as vile or inhuman.
When things go wrong in the sphere of love, we may find jealousy - and where we find jealousy, to an extreme enough degree, serious crimes including murder can occur, many as acts of spontaneity and in the heat of ‘passion’. Jealousy can be understood as an extreme emotional state, hardwired in our brains over centuries of evolution, to safeguard what we consider to be most precious to us. Our susceptibility to jealousy is shared by near all of us, and is why we so often find it in the works of art and literature - from Shakespeare’s Othello to Euripides‘ Medea. Of course, not all spontaneous violence and murder relates to jealousy - violence during brawls or in the course of an argument are often spurred by feelings of intense anger and rage.
Jealousy Murders
George Skiadopoulos
In 1999, George Skiadopoulos was convicted of the murder of 31-year old Julie Scully. A former model, Julie met George, a Greek sailor, while on a cruise in the Caribbean. Bored in her marriage to her current husband, Julie and George began an affair, following which Julie divorced her husband and began to live with George. An intensely jealous man, George often spied on Julie’s private phone calls and became increasingly argumentative, in one instance going so far as to choke Julie’s mother. After charges forced him to return to Greece, Julie, who had returned with him and grown weary of both George and her new life, insisted on returning to the United States. George lured Julie to a remote spot and strangled her, before proceeding to dismember the body and dispose of it in the Aegean Sea.
Clara Harris
Clara Suarez Harris, the only child of an affluent family, lived an upscale and flourished life in Houston, Texas with her husband, David Harris, both of whom shared in the profession of dentistry. Busy with both motherhood and a successful practice, David felt sidelined by Clara, and soon began an affair with his receptionist, Gail Bridges. However, the affair soon become known to Clara, who, after hiring a private investigator, traveled to the hotel David and Gail were staying in. Upon them emerging from the lobby, Clara proceeded to mow down her husband with her car, driving over him a further two times in order to kill him.
Jeremy Akers
Born to a working-class family in Mississippi, Jeremy Akers was the typical all-American overachiever - a straight-A student, bodybuilder and highly competitive individual; graduating law school before serving in Vietnam. Upon his return, Jeremy married Nancy Richards, to whom he was brash, domineering, jealous and possessive. The marriage soon began to deteriorate. Depressed after the birth of her third child and feeling unappreciated by her husband, Nancy struck up an acquaintance with truck driver, Jim Lemke. The pair shared an appreciation of writing and soon became lovers. Having already suspected the two’s infidelity, Jeremy’s feelings only escalated upon Nancy suing for divorce. Using the pretext of discussing divorce details, Jeremy lured Nancy back to their house, where he shot her to death with a .38 before turning the gun on himself.
Impulse Murders: Emphasis on Rage
Robert Rowe
Robert was born one of two brothers raised in a Protestant family. Married to a Catholic woman (despite the protests of his mother) to whom he had two sons with: Bobby and Chris, who was born blind and deaf due to his wife’s early contraction of rubella during pregnancy. Robert was described as unusually stoic in the face of his son’s condition, forming a support group for other couples in similar situations. When he was forty, he and his wife adopted a young girl. Three years later, Robert’s mother passed away, but not before humiliating him by admitting she wished she had aborted him before he was born, as she had with her first two pregnancies. She considered Robert as nothing more than a lowly bureaucrat and a fake, and disinherited him in a final act of spite. Robert soon became seriously depressed, suffering recurrent dreams in which his mother urged him to kill his family. Receiving psychiatric treatment for his depression, Robert was unable to continue work as an attorney and took up a job as a New York cab driver. However, not long after, his cab was stolen and Robert was unwillingly reduced to a house husband while Mary worked. Upon discovering his other child, Bobby, had developed a congenital hip disease that may render him wheelchair bound, Robert ceased taking his medication and slipped further into depression. The suggestion to place Chris in the care of an institution was raised by Robert, but ultimately dismissed by his wife, further deteriorating the situation. The culmination of these events came about in 1978, wherein Robert took a baseball bat to his three children, bludgeoning them to death. Upon her return home, Robert instructed his wife to put on a blindfold as he had a ‘surprise’ for her - the surprise being him proceeding to bludgeon her to death with the bat as well. Robert then attempted suicide by way of the gas from his oven, but was rescued by a neighbor.
Susan Wright
Susan Wyche worked as a go-go dancer at the local discotheque, where she met her soon-to-be husband, Jeff Wright. An affair soon ensued, the result of which was Susan falling pregnant to Jeff, who, to Susan’s irritation, delayed in marrying her until she was eight months along in her pregnancy. While Jeff’s job as a fairly successful salesman afforded them the ability to live in relative comfort, he was addicted to both cocaine and other women - avocations ruinous to both their finances and their marriage. In 2003, Susan’s anger having reached a tipping point, she enticed Jeff into their bedroom under the pretext of engaging in bondage activities, allowing himself to be restrained to the four corner-posts of their bed. In a burst of rage, Susan mutilated his genitals and stabbed Jeff near two hundred times. Panicked, Susan dragged the body to their yard before disposing of it in a pit, dug earlier by Jeff for an unknown reason. Susan had planned to tell people Jeff had simply ‘disappeared’, however this would prove to be in vain, as their dog dug up the body only a few days later.
Dr. Bruce Rowan
Idaho-born to a large family, of which he was the youngest, Bruce Rowan was depressed for most of his life, grappling with feelings of unworthiness and suicidal idealisation. During the course of his academic studies as a medical student, Bruce continued to suffer from suicidal thoughts, for which he was temporarily hospitalised. Debbie, Bruce’s girlfriend, stood by him during this time, partly due to her love for him, partly out of the fearful belief that were she to leave, he would attempt to kill himself. The pair married and spent considerable time traveling the world and doing charitable work in various countries before returning to the United States to settle down. Bruce was still determined to travel, to provide aid to the needy, in hopes this would alleviate his continual feelings of unworthiness. Following their adoption of a young girl, Debbie was often preoccupied with caring for their baby, and Bruce, saddled with chores and finding himself with less quality time with Debbie, began to grow resentful. In 1998, Bruce’s resentment turned to rage, and he murdered Debbie using an axe. Bruce then placed the body in their car before pushing it down a hill in an attempt to convey the appearance of an unfortunate accident. At trial, Bruce was ultimately found not guilty by way of mental illness.
“ this was all they had, ” joni says as she throws the packets of instant noodles on the bed next to medea. she doesn't add ‘ that i could find in the area before the storm gets worse, ’ or ‘ that we can afford, ’ because it goes without saying. her hair and socks are already sopping wet because she didn't think to pack anything but her stupid suede loafers when she was originally forced to run away. the shabby hotel in the middle of nowhere is paid in cash that she withdrew from her credit card back in california. just the thought of the nutrinionless dinner makes joni wish she could use it again, fuck a credit score, but they could track them like that so they have to find another way. her stomach is rumbling bad, so she fills up a bowl with water and puts it in the microwave on the micro-kitchen counter to start making their delicious meal. the wind is picking up outside and rattling their window, which is not a good sign, and the sky lights up for the fraction of a second, @lightningstruck. “ these lightning storms have been following us, ” it's hard not to sound tense, not with so much boiling under the surface. “ this isn't you, right? do you think they're watching? ”
@delphine-st-clair Dated: 3/5/23. Location: The Empire Hotel.
What the French had done was unforgivable.
They mourned the loss of a leader whilst glossing over the fact she would’ve still been with them if they hadn’t shit the bed quite so publicly. It might’ve been the Russians who had started the shooting, the ones who’d hung the near-dead Commandant like a butchered animal for all to see, but it was her men who had escalated the situation to the point where the Vorshevskys felt cornered enough to snap. And now he was gone.
It wasn’t the time or the place. Konstantin deserved everything coming his way, but in that moment, the French had been no better than their enemy; arrogant, reckless, and irrational. All for a few lower level Russian brutes. Was it worth it?
The Rutherford had grieved so intensely in the weeks that’d followed, now she didn’t feel much of anything at all. Anger was the only thing that scratched the numbed surface, and when her eyes met the blonde from across the room, it peaked so brutally, she’d almost turned on her heels and left. Lara would do whatever it took to make sure the Russians paid for what they’d taken. But so would she.
All that was stopping her from calling Medea was that she needed the French for this.
And they needed her, too. Delphine knew it.
“I have terms.”
It probably says something about my, uh, interests that the characters I'm writing about include Circe, Calypso, Medea, Morgan le Fay, Elle Driver, and a serial-numbers-filed-off version of Jennifer Check, and only the first two are actually antagonistic while the rest are just morally ambiguous in an Edgy Misunderstood way
Note
God, seeing Alastor and Oberon interact in Hazbin Hotel would be amazing.
Gudako is so happy she is no longer the only buffer between her dad and uncle, lol.
If Alastor is still on someone’s leash, Gudako’s gonna ask Medea if she can borrow Rule Breaker.
it will 100% be a wild ride without a doubt, even without the other Servants, Gudako definitely adds a new dynamic to the Hotel
