The funny thing about getting your body crushed under a boulder is that it happens so suddenly you barely have the chance to realize it before it's over. There's one single, agonizing moment where you feel all of your bones crack and splint as your soft, squishy body folds under the weight of the rock and then boom. Nothing.
Sweet, blissful nothing.
Followed by a tug in your stomach and then you're sitting up so fast you almost flip yourself over with the force of it, which doesn't really make sense because you know. Boulder. pain beyond comprehension. Siffrin pancake.
And yet here you are! Still alive! Somehow! And for some reason you're not in the House anymore but you can' t focus on that right now because you died!! You somehow missed a trap and got crushed and! You!! Died!!!
Your stomach churns and before you know it you're hunched over, fighting down the tears as what little food you'd managed to eat this morning splatters on the ground beside you.
(Just like your body probably did, all mangled and mushed in a mess of blood and flesh and bones.)

There’s a misconception running wild among mortals, on the topic of Life and Death.
They say Death is cruel, inescapable. They say She lurks in the darkness of every crevice, every nook, waiting and watching for the opportunity to strike. They say She’s heartless, that She has no care for the mortals She reaps, the bonds She destroys with the fall of Her scythe.
They say Life is kind, beautiful. They say He’s generous, for He created their world and all that it contains. The power of Life flows in them, and so they are Life, and so He must be good to his core because that is what humanity is.
The Universe watches. The Universe listens, and chuckles at the foolishness of mortals.
They do not know that Death is kind. They do not know that She only takes those whose time has come, gentle and soothing only like a Mother can be. They do not know of Her smile, of Her eyes, of Her reign made of peace and stars and constellations in the far beyond. They remain clueless of the countless souls She has reunited, through space, through time, of the people who look up at her and see the end of all pains, and the promise for rest, finally fulfilled.
And Life? Life hides behind a curtain, an illusion of greatness. Because Life is cruel, heartless, takes what He wants, and cares not for the mortals He created. Life drifts by and watches in amusement, makes of the world His chessboard and the humans He encounters His Pawns.
Life is a child and the world is His playground. Death is a mother who wishes she could do more, and makes of her reign a safe haven for the souls Life discards.
Death is kind, and Life is heartless. The Universe watches, uncaring, and just like that, unchanged, unbothered, it goes on.

Hc that I couldn’t fit in: limbo is a prison Life creates for the mortals he favors the most, a place where he can keep “playing” with them even after death. Mumza is not happy at all about it but there isn’t much she can do if DreamXD gets a hold of their souls first, not unless she wants to risk destroying the fbric of reality with the fight that would inevitably follow.

Anthony J. Crawly is very familiar with the concept of soulmates -but honestly, who isn't?
The idea of there being someone, one specific person somewhere in the universe who's meant to complete you and understand you in ways no one else could ever achieve… why wouldn't people love it?
The words written on his forearm itch under the long sleeves of his jacket, almost as if they were trying to make him take it off and let the world see them.
"W-what?" His soulmark reads, the first words he'll ever hear his soulmate pronounce.
During his younger years -when he still didn't cover his soulmark 24/7, when Crowley still answered to his full name because "it's ancient, Crawly, and a symbol of power. Why wouldn't you want to use it?”- people used to wonder what exactly might cause them.
(He heard quite a lot of assumptions during those years, some less nice than others. If Crowley has to be honest, that's probably one of the reasons he started covering his arms more in the first place.)

Summary:
Dream doesn't die in a blinding burst of light. There's no explosion, no noble death, no purpose. One moment, he stands proud in the middle of the battlefield, shining brighter than the sun with his bow cocked and ready to shoot. From desert heat to cobbled streets

The Intergalactic Trading Market of Ktolos. One of the biggest trading centers in the universe, with its doors always open and where money never seemed to stop flowing. If you were in search of something, chances were you'd find it there -as some say, if it's not sold on Ktolos, it must not exist.
There was another layer to it, too, one that could go so deep and dark not many were brave enough to dip their metaphorical feet in it. Illegal weapon trading, trafficking, mercenaries, if you knew where to go and who to ask, you could find anything hidden in the dark alcoves of the market. That was, if you dared to search for it.
"Of course you have contacts in one of the biggest and most dangerous black markets of the known universe," Technoblade let out a small grunt of protest as Phil secured yet another scarf-like thing around his face. "Why am I not surpri- oi, tighten that a little more and I'll just collapse three breaths in for lack of oxygen."
(Or, in which Technoblade and Philza get a new mission, Wilbur and Tommy spot a new target, and kidnapping starts to become a trend in Techno's life that he's not very fond of.)

There's a peculiar statue, standing at the center of the village. It depicts a young boy, barely an adult, grinning proudly as he salutes the air. He looks happy, carefree, with a bow held securely in his hand and small flowers littering his wild curls.
Tubbo has felt drawn to it from the second he stepped foot in this tiny, quaint village, something tugging at his chest every time his gaze falls on it. It feels like the statue holds all the answers he could ever search for, all the secrets of the universe right at the tip of the boy's fingertips.
The locals believe the statue to be cursed, haunted by the ghost of a young boy whose life had been stolen too soon. The more he lingers, Tubbo can't help but agree with them. Something weird is going on with the statue, and he doesn't think he'll be able to leave until he figures it out.
Heyyyyy look who finally wrote a new fic!! This was a very late gift for a Secret Santa event we did on my server, and I had an absolute blast coming up with the plot!

What made it all worse was that it hadn’t even been such a bad day.
Classes had been fine, finals had come and gone without a hitch and the practice game their coach had planned for that afternoon had gone rather well.
Then why was Kenma sitting outside at almost one in the morning on a Friday night, not-so-subtly hiding from his teammates as they happily enjoyed not having classes in the morning?
He honestly wished he had an actual answer for that.
Kenma shivered, hugging his knees closer to his chest as he kept looking forward.

David’s Fic-Rec Friday: 2020/04/10
Hey guys. Sorry about missing last week, and being so late this week. Definitely going to try more at getting this done early and efficiently.
But I still managed to get six new entries for you all for this week. So then, let’s get cracking.
Learned it from the pizza man by TalesoftheEnchantedForest (Tumblr Account Unknown)
Our first entry is a Human AU featuring Prinxiety. Virgil is trying his best to get through his shift delivering pizzas. But on the last delivery of the night, he ends up getting kissed without warning by the handsome man who placed the order. Even if he feels like dying of embarrassment, he figures he can just move on with his life so long as he never sees him again. Unfortunately, he ends up having to go back less than a week later. But the man, Roman, explains that his brother dared him to do it, and apologizes profusely for violating the sanctity of consent. Virgil accepts the apology, and when he points out that he actually rather enjoyed the kiss, other than it being completely unexpected, Roman offers him his phone number, and Virgil vows to always be the one delivering to Roman’s apartment.
This does feature nonconsensual kissing and both Remus and Deceit in roles that aren’t quite unsympathetic but would certainly qualify as chaotic or morally neutral. But if you can get past those, it’s a wonderful story with a sweet conclusion.
Admiration and Calculation by Volumes_Too_Logan (aka @volumes2lo-gan)
Our second entry is a nice Logicality oneshot. Logan has taken note of how Patton becomes flustered whenever he is complimented by the other sides. And he’s a little startled to discover his own emotional reaction to seeing the father figure figment’s response. As part of an experiment, he asks Patton to put together a puzzle with him one day, and the carefully worded responses he gives not only turn Patton into a frazzled blushing mess, but manage to fill his whole body with a warmth that, while strange and unusual to the logical side, is absolutely not unwelcome. With only some minor angsty mentions, this is a wonderful story of a nerd falling in love with a dad, and using science to prove how adorable said father can be.
Smiling Up At Me by MagpieMorality (aka @magpiemorality)
Another Logicality story, this one set in a High School AU. Patton and Logan have already been through the whole “I like you, you like me” conversation. But Patton’s still unsure if that means they’re actually a couple. That is, until he discovers that Logan has set a picture of Patton as his phone’s lockscreen. Logan is embarrassed for Patton to see this, but Patton responds by showing him that he’s already made Logan his own lockscreen. And maybe that’s really all the confirmation the two young men need. A very sweet story with just the slightest hint of angst, so no worries there.
Breakfast by fandomsandanythingelse (aka @fandomsandanythingelse)
Breaking out of this week’s unintended pattern, here’s a Human AU featuring the Sunshine Gays. Roman is always so grateful for his husband Patton. And one morning he hopes to show his love with a surprise of french toast in bed. Unfortunately for him, Patton wakes up and comes looking for him, only to spoil the surprise. But not even that can spoil a wonderfully perfect breakfast with the man you love. Nothing to worry about here, just pure unadulterated fluff.
Be There For You by MagpieMorality (again)
The darkest entry in this week’s list, this High School AU sees Roman attempting to ask his crush to the homecoming dance with a fresh bouquet of roses, only to be rejected in front of the entire school. While the rest of his fellow students simply whisper at his distress, his best friends Patton, Logan, and Virgil all do what they can to hold him together as he deals with a broken heart. And in the end, the three friends are a much better recipient of such a loving gift.
This story does feature rejection, unrequited love, and public humiliation. But its message of the true love of friendship more than makes up for its darker tones.
Light to my Dark by bisexualpicklewierdo (aka @bisexualpicklewierdo)
Finally, to close out the list this week. we’ve got a very sweet Prinxiety story that hits rather close to home for me. In this human AU, Virgil has finally worked up the courage to tell his crush Roman how he feels, and with some encouragement from Patton, he decides to do so through Patton’s coffee shop’s Open Mic Night. But his hopes seem dashed when Roman starts spending a lot of time with Valerie to prepare his own entry for the event. Anxious thoughts plague Virgil as he begins to fear that Roman might not only not return his feelings but might have also already be in a relationship. But then, Logan will always remind us how dangerous it can be when you jump to conclusions without all the facts.
Other than some anxious thoughts and a mention of unrequited love, this story is truly heartfelt and wonderful and most definitely deserving of your time.
