Dust hated going out in public. They hated it. They didn't want to hate it (although they also wouldn't mind never showing their face to the world again; clashing feelings.) but they did.

Whenever they went out somewhere other than an open park or something like that, it felt like thousands of little needles were stabbing their bones -- and then there was the Papyrus problem. Papyrus didn't appear often, but due to how often he'd been around before, there was the lingering feeling of being watched and judged.

So being in a clothing store with Killer right now was not fun for them. At all.

"Hey, what d'ya think of this?" Killer grins that stupid grin and holds up a shirt or something. Dust isn't paying much attention, but as soon as Killer talks, they try to focus every particle of their body and soul onto that shirt, hoping it'll get the watching feeling to leave.

"You good?" Killer says when Dust doesn't respond.

Dust gives a thumbs up and grits their teeth, pulling their hood down lower. "M'fine."

"I call bullshit," Killer responds. "What's going on?"

"Nothin."

"Shut up." Killer tugs on Dust's sleeve that goes down past their hands and pulls them outside, dropping the shirt. "Is your Papyrus bugging you, that fucker?"

"Maybe." Dust avoids Killer's eyes.

Killer wraps Dust up in his arms, trying to cover as much body as possible.

"That dumbass can't mess with you now. Not when I'm covering you - what's there to see?"

Dust snorts at the sudden attempt to help them. "..."

"Is it working?"

"No."

"Are you telling me the truth?"

"No." Dust blinks. "Fuck, I mean - yeah, it is-wait, no, I mean no-"

Killer punches them (gently) on the shoulder. "Shut up."

They go about with their day, avoiding the store, and Killer is pretty sure - at least 70% sure - that he saw Dust sign a small 'thanks'.

Dust is 100% sure that they gave Killer thanks.

(yeah can u tell I got lazy at the end :sob)

(self indulgent as in I get weird n prickly in public, especially stores)

(feels like my own eyes are judging myself and shtuff)

Drew Inkmare instead of doing important schoolwork... worth it.

I recently have started to read fanfiction, and there's this one called "I Found You My Dear Inkmare Fanfic" on wattpad where Ink and Nightmare got to know each other before Nightmare's corruption, and i just loved that idea. Love seeing soft Nightmare.

So i imagine that Nightmare would have loved hearing Ink's stories as passive, and still love hearing them after the corruption. Having a soft spot for Ink's energy, even tho it can be too much at times.

(the fan fic was good, if i remember correctly. a bit chaotic and small details got changed through out the story, but it was interesting seeing Dream as evil and Nightmare as good. Dream got a bit too much, in my opinion, tho)
