"Hey Mark." You greeted with a smile as he jogged up to be by your side.

"Who's this?" He asked, pointing at (?).

"Ah! This is (?), my new friend! We've been hanging out a lot!" You exclaimed, and Mark nodded, smiling. But then, (?) locked arms with you and leaned into your side.

"Yeah, me and (Y/N) have been hanging out pretty much everyday this month, only besides the short 2 days when she was hanging out with you." (?) said, with a condescending smirk on their face as they stared down at Mark.

"..I see." He turned to look at you, "Is this the one who keeps having you cancel the hangouts?"

"I don't force (Y/N) to do anything, I think they just like a little better than you--" (?) started.

"I'm sorry? I don't like any of my friends more than the other!! You're all my friends, so I like you all equally!! Please don't pick another fight, (?).." You interjected. (?) just rolled their eyes and looked back at Mark.

"We've got somewhere to be right now, so goodbye." (?) said turning around and attempting to take you with them.

Mark grabbed you other arm softly and pulled you out of (?)'s arm lock, and silently lead you two away from (?).

jealousy is new to Cesar

he has no idea why he gets that clenching feeling in his stomach when he sees you with (?), all close and even just slightly touching

and that voice telling him to just take you away from them is getting louder and louder

so what does he do?

he listens to it.

There you were, laughing with (?). You two had just gotten back from a fun time at a carnival in the next town over, and (?) was walking you home.

"Oh! Remember how scared you were on the Ferris wheel? Your face was priceless!" You laughed, covering your mouth with your hand.

"Oh, shut up!" (?) said, nudging you with their elbow.

"You know--" You started, but then (?) stopped moving and laughing. They were staring at something straight ahead in fear; you followed their eyes to see Cesar, standing ahead, just a couple feet away. The only thing that really scared (?) was that half of his face was missing besides his eye.

𖠵𝟎𝟏: Mark didn't really initiate the relationship at first, not being all that interested in what relationships had in store.

however, he quickly grew fond of you, and Cesar highly encouraged him to ask you out! and that he did...

𖠵𝟎𝟐: he isn't a very touchy person, but he doesn't reject the idea, either. if you want to cuddle, he'll happily do so, but you have to be the one to initiate it.

𖠵𝟎𝟑: you happened to be a big stress reliever for this man! whenever he feels stressed or overwhelmed, he'll plop himself on top of you and ask if you can rant about something so he can listen to you talk.

𖠵𝟎𝟒: he's always been slightly protective over you regarding getting yourself hurt. when the idea of alternates came out, god, that was multiplied by 100,000.

he would not let you go almost anywhere by yourself. (at least out in public). he'd eye anyone you'd be talking to, trying to figure out if they were an alternate.

𖠵𝟎𝟓: he's a silent lover; he shows he loves you with smaller actions rather than big ones.

𖠵𝟎𝟔: it doesn't take much to make him happy romantically. as long as you're safe and unharmed, that's all that really matters to him.

𖠵𝟎𝟕: isn't much for PDA, but he'll hold your hand everywhere to ensure that you don't wander off anywhere.

𖠵𝟎𝟖: takes really good care of you! especially when you're sick or injured. he'll stress heavily over either one ‹/3 the boy just wants you to be healthy. he doesn't mind either, one of his favorite things to do is take care of you.

𖠵𝟎𝟗: makes sure to check on you regularly to see how you're feeling, physically and mentally; this was heightened after MAD came out.

𖠵𝟏𝟐: steal all of his hoodies!1!1 i guarantee you he has thousands. he finds you super cute in them anyways, especially if you’re smaller than him so that you drown in them. (he won't admit that, though).

𖠵𝟎𝟏: starting off with alive Cesar. he was more loud with his love! almost the complete opposite of Mark, really.

𖠵𝟎𝟐: a pretty big hopeless romantic, i'd imagine. he loved to take you out on really romantic dates. it doesn't matter if it was a big occasion or not.

𖠵𝟎𝟑: he'd boast on and on about how much he loves you to Mark ‹/3

𖠵𝟎𝟒: a big cuddle bug! he loved to be attached to your hip no matter where you went. he'd hold your hand without meaning to, LMFAO.

𖠵𝟎𝟓: would bring you home the biggest bouquet of flowers he could find and/or afford.

𖠵𝟎𝟔: each and every morning, you'd either wake up to: (A) Cesar literally on top of you or (B) you suffocated in his chest from him pulling you so close.

𖠵𝟎𝟕: Cesar liked to call you “baby,” “mariposa,” and “(my) love!”

𖠵𝟎𝟖: we all know he's a family man ‹/3 he was so excited to start a family and get married. starts crying

these apply to the theory/headcanon that any human who gets turned into an alternate still has their original features/personalities from their human self and has at least a silver of their dignity left. (@/hornyforgothdick headcanon.)

𖠵𝟏𝟏: he's a lot more withdrawn because he's scared he's going to hurt you accidentally.

𖠵𝟏𝟐: watches over you very intently while you sleep, making sure nothing (meaning any other alternates/intruders) gets inside your house.

𖠵𝟏𝟑: was very against the idea of affection, being incredibly not used to it (as an alternate). however, you've found out that giving him affection helps calm him down and keep his sanity intact — well... whatever's left of it anyways.

𖠵𝟏𝟒: grimaces at literally anyone else but you, given his nature of being an alternate. for that reason, you prefer he stays at home.

however, he despises the idea of you going out alone because he can't be there to protect you.

𖠵𝟏𝟓: i can't decide whether or not he'd tell Gabriel of you because he wants to make it abundantly clear that you should not, no matter the circumstances, be harmed by his or any other alternates hands or because he fears that Gabriel would purposefully try and target you.

꩜━━ADAM MURRAY, VICTIM 03. . .

𖠵𝟎𝟏: Adam is fairly similar to Mark when it comes to romance. although he more actively sought it out.

𖠵𝟎𝟐: Jonah noticed the way he kept staring at you and kept nagging him to confess because “it’s honestly sickening the way you look at them.”

Jonah was actually the one who gave you Adam’s number, LMFAO.

𖠵𝟎𝟑: he's infatuated with you and doesn't hear the end of it from Jonah and Sarah.

𖠵𝟎𝟒: you catch him staring at you with the most lovesick eyes like 24/7 and when asking why he says, “can’t a guy bask in his lover’s beauty?”

𖠵𝟎𝟓: one to hold your hand or have his on your thigh while he's driving.

𖠵𝟎𝟔: felt horrible he had to stop taking you out in public when he became wanted ‹//3

𖠵𝟎𝟑: would not shut up about you to Adam or Sarah.

𖠵𝟎𝟒: a touchy person! he loves to be holding onto you in one way or another. he's basically a koala.

Ngl I was heavily debating on whether to have Cesar be human/alive or his alternate, but....I don't see much of human ces so I went with that!

..........

Mark wasn't the most extroverted person, and certainly not experienced in dating whatsoever.

It took him ages to work up the ability to ask you out on a date...and even longer for you to realize he didn't mean that as "a friend". You genuinely thought he wanted to hangout like you did every other day.

But thanks to Cesar's intervention, that confusion was quickly cleared up before the end of the night, sparing you both from feelings of rejection and awkwardness.

Only then you realized "oh shit, we were actually on a date" and reassured him that you genuinely liked him back, offering to take him out next time to make up for your oblivious behavior.

He was a forgiving guy, so he accepted it, and from there on the relationship grew.

Of course, he sometimes struggled to express his emotions. At the end of the day, he still felt like that loner kid who always clung to his notebooks and the cross necklace he never left home without..unsure of what he should be doing now that he had a partner. He'd worry about whether he was doing the right things, so he'd often turn to Cesar for further advice.

You usually initiated most the romantic gestures, which he'd sometimes try to mimic. For instance, you'd write positive messages and his favorite psalms on sticky notes to leave in his locker; and the next day, he left notes in yours.

It was sweet, and you reassured him you appreciated them.

On the weekends, Cesar continued hanging out with you both, often tagging along as a wingman for dates. Obviously you weren't going to keep the two from being best friends, so you didn't mind it at all as long as he didn't feel like a third wheel.

However as time went on, Mark slowly began to notice that the man who helped him confess to you...

Was also the same guy he started becoming jealous of.

He could see how often Cesar's jokes made you laugh, or when his friendly teasing caused you to playfully slap his shoulder, unable to hide the grin on your face.

And for some reason..it stung.

Sure, he was one of the popular kids, the most charismatic, the guy everybody in school wanted to be friends with. This was how he always acted around him and you.

But to Mark, it felt like a thorn was permanently stuck in his side, wishing he was the one who made you laugh and joke around the most.

It was easy for Cesar, yet difficult for him somehow.

Some nights, he'd lie awake wondering what he could do differently...or if you're better off dating him instead.

Of course he wasn't going to tell you this and tried pushing down those envious feelings, thinking they'll go away in their own.

Yet it only got worse after the Alternates became more of a prevalent threat.

Stricter curfews were set in place throughout several counties, and more people were urged to stay inside their homes and keep their television usage down to a minimum.

This meant that you, Mark, and Cesar spent a lot more time together, staying at each other's homes and never leaving a single person alone for too long. If you absolutely had to go out, it'll be as a group.

For tonight, though, you were all spending it at Mark's place, trying to find ways to pass the time.

Cesar, being not too concerned about the Alternates, suggested watching a horror movie, popping the VHS into the cassette player while you got some popcorn before joining him on the sofa. You liked the idea and believed it to be a good escape from reality.

Mark, on the other hand, thought you two lost your minds.

"Did you guys just..forget that entire broadcast?" He bluntly asked when you invited him over. "We shouldn't even be having the TV on..let alone a scary movie. Turn it off."

"Mark, relax. It's fine." Cesar waved his hand, brushing off his friend's concerns. "It's a cheesy monster movie. Nothing's gonna crawl out of the TV and get us."

The brunette just frowned back at him, not liking how close he was to you yet being unable to do anything about it. "You don't know that."

"Just c'mon over here, dude." He sighed, noticing that your gaze was fixated on the screen, watching the monster stalk its first victim. "Who else is gonna protect [y/n] when the scariest part-?"

As if on cue, the shrill scream of the victim and the monster's horrific roars startled you. It made you jump and instinctively cling to the closest person.

Who happened to be Cesar.

Moments later, you realized your mistake and immediately shuffled away, bashful as he laughed at your reaction. "S-Sorry. That just..really got me. I didn't expect that!"

"It's all good. Now Mark, you can-"

However, when you both looked at Mark, you could see he was fuming, as though on the verge of screaming in rage. But then he closed his eyes and took several deep breaths, before mumbling something under his breath.

"What's up, hun?" You tilted your head, wondering what was wrong.

"I said I'm going to bed. You and Torres can do whatever the hell you want. I'm done trying."

"Wait, we can find another movie!" You tried calling out to him, but your words fell on deaf ears as he stormed out of the living room, disappearing down the corridor.

Seconds later you heard the door slam shut, and Cesar became tense, feeling his heart drop.

He was only trying to help Mark become a more confident boyfriend, but it seems he just made things ten times worse. He never called him by his last name unless he was extremely pissed off.

Maybe he went too far.

"You should go talk to him.."

"About what?" You looked at him, confused. "Is he mad we didn't listen to the broadcast?"

"...I feel like it's more than that."

Although your friend sounded quite vague, you decided to take his advice and leave for Mark's bedroom, telling him that he can keep the movie going.

After you reached your boyfriend's door, you knocked a few times, stepping back as it swung open and revealed an angry-looking Mark. But upon seeing you, his gaze softened. "Why aren't you with Cesar?"

"I was worried about you." You pointed out.

"...really? I'm surprised." He averted his eyes, swallowing the lump in his throat.

"Can we just talk? I wanna know what I did wrong."

He was silent for a moment, forgetting that you were very dense and didn't see the obvious signs.

But he invited you inside, and after shutting the door you sat down on the bed together. Mark was still quiet as he tried to figure out what to say, wringing his hands together in an anxious manner.

You, on the other hand, decided to list out everything that could've possibly upset him this much. No matter what, you're not leaving until you wrestle the truth out of him.

"If..it's about us not listening to the broadcast-"

"No..no..it's..not that. I want us to stay safe but..that's not why I left. It's a stupid reason, now that I think about it..." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"Did it...have anything to do with Cesar?"

Finally, you hit the nail on the head.

Thank god.

Mark was eventually able to admit how much he disliked the closeness you two shared even though it was Cesar who pushed him to ask you out. It was hard for him not to sound like a possessive asshole, but he felt like that's the impression he was getting when he saw your frown.

Great. Now you're probably gonna argue with him about much he was overreacting and how he didn't need to storm off like a child.

But instead, you hugged him..much to his shock.

"I'm so, so sorry, hun. I..I never even noticed until now." You pulled away and looked at him, feeling guilty that you never realized this. "But you know I'll always choose you over him, right? I'm sure he didn't mean to act that way."

"I know, I know. It's how he is." He sighed, his shoulders slightly relaxing. "I just...I wish I could be as confident as him. I hate being so uptight and paranoid all the time...and when I see him making the better jokes and moves, I.....l-like I said, it's stupid-"

"It's not stupid. I promise." You took one of his hands into yours, squeezing it gently. "I'll admit, it's kinda cute seeing you get jealous. I never thought you had that in you."

A blush formed on his face. "....m-me neither. So..are you sure that-?"

"Mark. I love you, and you alone. Cesar's a funny guy, but you're protective, polite, and honest. And I admire that. You don't have to be like him or anybody else, okay?" Smiling, you kissed him on the cheek. "We can go watch something else if you want, or if you wanna stay here."

"No, I'll..go watch that movie with you. But I'm gonna be the one protecting you from now on." He huffed, gaining some newfound confidence.

You just chuckled softly, taking his hands and pulling him up to his feet.

"Now that's the Mark I know and love."

How did this all begin?

You and Mark were friends since childhood and had always cared for each other.

You both met at some form of daycare Center and ever since became inseparable.

Although it seems that mark had started to grow feelings for you quite close to the end of secondary school and he had asked you out just before the invasion begun.

Needless to say you accepted your dear friends confession and started dating him!

Although when the invasion had finally started he had changed.. not much! But he wasn’t the same, he seemed more paranoid and scared than ever before.

He was constantly begging for you to stay at his for the night in fear that something bad would happen to you, and whenever you wasn’t there with him he was constantly trying to call you and praying to God that you and him would be safe.

It was a Saturday afternoon and you was trying to relax in your room, you had finally come back home from staying at your boyfriends house for a couple of nights, but just as you had sat down on your bed you heard the house phone ring. You slowly ascended from your bed and walked over to the phone, picking it up expecting it to be a family member or someone who had called the wrong number but was surprised to find that it was your boyfriend, Mark! “Hey babe, I know that you literally just arrived back at yours but I just wanted to make sure nothing happened!” Mark said with a weary voice “yeah I’m fine honey, don’t worry about me!” you replied honestly, happy that he wanted to make sure you were doing alright. That was only the first call.

Every time you got home from anywhere, you’d revive a call from your boyfriend and it slowly became a problem as he wanted for you to stay at his house or always call him. He worried too much for you too keep up with and you could never seem to convince him that nothing bad would happen and that you’d be fine, and you just felt so bad that your sweet boyfriend was driving himself half mad with thoughts of what could happen. You didn’t want to break up with him but soon felt hopeless at your inability to help him and keep him carefree so you decided it just had to happen.

After the break up.

You had told him that you’d love to stay friends with him and continue to hang out with him, to which he seemed quite content with.

After a while he had introduced you to his best friend; Cesar Torres, you had seen him around before but never thought that you’d ever get to know him.

You found that Cesar was quite extroverted and loved to talk to you and mark, he had a fondness of suits and whenever he came round to yours or Mark’s he would always be wearing one, he was also quite the gentleman and he’d always bring you a nice bouquet of flowers whenever he came to visit you.

You had soon became good friends with Cesar and he visited you often!

Soon enough friendship moved onto a relationship and you had found yourself spending less and less time with your childhood friend, Mark, and spending more time with your new boyfriend.

It worried Mark as he thought that he was no longer worthy of your love, no longer needed. And so, the phone calls started up again.

It was nothing but sweet short casual chats.

During one of those chats he mentioned that he still liked you, although he had no idea you and Cesar were dating.

So you had to carefully drop the bombshell on him.

Cesar was around at your house just paying you a ‘small’ visit as he usually did, he was sorting out dinner ‘as a gift from him to you’ is what he’d say whenever you asked why. And you couldn’t lie, he was a really good cook. You was just about to waltz over to the kitchen until- *ring,,,ring* the house phone. You knew it was probably mark and decided that he could wait a few seconds. Uh oh, bad decision [name]!

As you were watching Cesar cook you heard abrupt knocking on your door, it wasn’t aggressive, no. It just sounded a bit… desperate? So you slowly trotted over to the door to find Mark stood outside, a worried expression worn on his face. But as soon as he saw you his face lit up as if he was glad to see you. You opened the door and was about to greet him but he cut you off.

“[Name]! I’m so glad you’re alright, what happened? Why didn’t you answer the phone?! Is something wrong??” He rambled on, sounding scared and sad at the same time. “I- no, no, everything is fine Mark! Nothing bad happened I promise!” You smiled at him, hoping it’d calm his nerves. But out of nowhere Cesar called out to you. “Mi amor~! Dinners ready!!” Crap. Mark looked at you, confused for a second, but his face soon became one of surprise and sadness. “[name].. you and Cesar are dating?” His voice filled with sorrow as he spoke. “Yeah.. I wanted to tell you earlier but I didn’t know how..” you looked away, feeling guilty. Guilty of what? You didn’t know.

How Cesar reacts to finding out mark still likes [name].

At first he’s shocked, not much but still shocked.

He doesn’t know how to react, knowing that his best friend still likes his girlfriend.

He honestly doesn’t mind it, as long as you stay loyal to him that is.

(There isn’t much for me to write about his reaction because I honestly think that he’d be chill with it)

Bringing up the idea of a love triangle/polyamorous relationship with them both!

Now this could go one of two ways, number 1; you bring it up and they agree on sharing you, the two of them staying friends. Or number 2; them agreeing and also becoming romantic partners!

Either way it’d be a happy relationship between the three of you, and you all liked happily after🥳

Mandela catalogue short scenarios ✨ angsty ✨

"ah! Mother fuck- you fucking ass!!" Jonah yelled, jumping around in pain.

Adam is just giving Jonah a look as if Jonah is crazy, "come on, it wasn't that bad.."

Jonah glares at Adam, "you broke my fucking rib!"

"stop being dramatic, the worst you'll get is a bruise." Adam says annoyed.

"you're so damn weak, Jonah." Adam follows up his words with an annoyed sigh.

Jonah walks over to Adam, a harsh pained look on his face, "you're a real dick, you know that?"

Adam responds by letting out a sarcastic chuckle, elbowing Jonah in the ribs again. This prompts Jonah to whine in pain and clutch his midsection.

"why the fuck would you do it again!?" Jonah yelled, tears in his eyes.

Adam responds, "because you look funny when you're in pain" he snickers a bit.

Jonah just lets out a defeated sigh, falling to the floor with a thud and laying there, groaning in pain. Adam just laughs some more before calming himself and smirking at Jonah.

Jonah glares at Adam from his spot on the floor, "quit staring, creep."

"don't think I will." Adam responds in a snarky manner, enjoying bothering Jonah.

Cesar is sitting on a bench with Mark, the two are just chatting when Cesar's mother walks by.

"watch out for balls, mark!!" She says, continuing on past them.

Hearing this prompts Cesar to start laughing, mark blushes in embarrassment.

"what was that about? Ahaha!" Cesar laughs, having not noticed how embarrassed his friend is.

Mark responds quietly, "quit laughing you ass..."

Cesar starts trying to calm himself but can't completely quell his laughter, calming it to a quiet snicker.

"okay! Okay...tell me..." Cesar gets out between little giggles.

Mark sighs, the blush on his face subsiding a little, "well...you know how I have this black eye..?" Mark turns to look at Cesar.

Cesar looks back at him and nods, "it's pretty nasty, hard to miss." Cesar is a bit more serious now as it is true, the black eye is a lot more than just Mark's eye, it's a quarter of his face.

Mark continues, now looking away from Cesar, "well...you remember that ass? Ronald? Well...he..uh.." Mark sighs, some tears forming in his eyes, prompting him to further hide his face from Cesar by putting his hands over his face.

Cesar looks worried, gently putting a hand on Mark's shoulder, "what did he do to you..?" Cesar sounds concerned and angry, he's worried about his best friend, but he needs to know what happened before he does anything.

"its not like it was intentional...its just...the way he acted after...that's what the problem was..." Mark says, sounding like he's about to cry.

Cesar prompts Mark to continue, "it's okay ..keep going buddy...im here..." comfortingly squeezing his best friend's shoulder.

Mark continues his story through a broken voice, holding back tears, "well, he hit me in the head with a base ball, which wasn't his fault, it was just bad circumstances, wrong spot wrong time kinda thing...but after...he...when he saw me in pain he laughed...he said 'finally, that dream's suffering', he laughed and said he hopes my brain is bleeding so I'll die..." Mark finally just gives up, letting himself cry.

Cesar holds mark tightly in a hug, rubbing his back and telling him everything will be okay.

"oh..ah...its okay...well...its not...everything will be okay...its gonna get better ..okay..? Cry all you need to...im here for you...ill be here...okay..?" Cesar says as Mark cries on his shoulder.

Jonah's sitting in math class, they have a test, Jonah hates tests. He's one of those people that is great at everything until he has to take a test then he loses everything, can't even remember 2+2.

Jonah's sitting there at his desk, staring at the paper, he hasn't even answered the first question and it's already been 10 minutes. He starts sweating, getting stressed. All he can think about is how stupid he is, how his mother will tell at him for getting a bad mark on his test, how he'll be sent to his room and not given dinner.

Jonah starts to breathe heavily, his vision blurring a little. He knows exactly what's happening, he's having a panic attack. He hates when this happens, he hates feeling so powerless over his emotions. Jonah sits there, slowly breaking down more and more as tears finally begin to fall, making the test paper wet and smearing what little ink was on it.

Jonah starts to get more upset seeing this, thinking about how pathetic he is for crying over something other people find so easy. Why was he so stupid? Why'd he have to freeze up? Why's he crying? These thoughts raced through Jonah's mind, putting more pressure on his already distressed mind.

Adam is sitting beside Jonah, Adam finds tests easy, having finished this one in record time, 20 minutes. Adam hears Jonah sniffling and looks over at him, seeing Jonah shaking and the tears on his paper he makes a weird face at the side of Jonah's head, not understanding why Jonah was crying.

Adam may not know how to express he cares or like to express it, but he is a bit worried seeing Jonah has only written his name and the date on the paper. Adam wonders why Jonah's got nothing done and why he's crying. As Adam's thinking he's making a face, it looks like he's glaring at Jonah, like he's annoyed with Jonah for crying, but he's not, he's just not sure what to make of this.

Jonah looks over at Adam, seeing that look on Adam's face Jonah assumes he pissed Adam off and starts whining his tears, trying to make the crying stop. Adam sees this and realizes the face he's making, relaxing his face and giving Jonah a concerned look. Jonah doesn't see this look though, only telling himself off mentally for assumedly bothering Adam.

Adam raises his hand, calling the teacher over. Adam asks to go to the cafeteria and get something to eat since he's done with his test. The teacher gives him the okay and Adam leaves.

Seeing Adam leave so quickly after him seeing Jonah's tears solidifies for Jonah that he'd bothered Adam with his crying, making Jonah insult himself further.

Adam walks down to the cafeteria with the intent of getting something to make Jonah feel better. Adam isn't good with words and given they're in a test he wouldn't be able to use them even if he knew how, so instead he's using his actions.

When Adam gets the the cafeteria he asks what they have available. The lunch ladies give him the list, when Adam hears there's jelly filled cookies he buys two and quickly rushes back to class. Jonah loves jelly cookies, how could Adam not get him one? He of course bought himself one two, he's got a while until the class is over and snacking may make the time pass quicker.

Adam gets back to class and sets a cookie on Jonah's desk before sitting down in his desk and munching on his cookie, no longer paying attention to Jonah and just zoning out from pure boredom.

Jonah seems Adam set the cookie on his desk and stops crying for a second, shocked Adam wasn't upset with him but had in fact gotten him a cookie presumably to make him feel better, or maybe just to shut him up? Either way it's a cookie from Adam rather than an insult or an annoyed scowl so Jonah will happily take it.

Jonah eats the cookie, calming down enough to try again with his test, he's got 30 minutes left, maybe he can do it. Jonah looks over at Adam hoping for reassurance but Adam's just staring into space. Jonah sighs and smiles to himself, it's just like Adam to be staring into space when done his work, he can do literally anything else, like draw or listen to music, hell, he could even leave the class, yet every time he chooses to just sit and wait for Jonah.

Jonah begins his test, still not confident he can do it, but feeling better knowing his best friend will still be there when it's over.

this went on for a while until you finally caved.

"It's just what?" He asked, curiosity getting the best of him after a while.

"Something is... wrong, or no, will be wrong. I don't know what or when, but I just know it." You said, gripping onto your (shorts/pants.) He looked at you and then away, scratching the back of his head.

"I could... sleep in the room with you... if you'd like... Not on the bed, just next to it, on the floor.." He offered, a light blush dusting his face.

Ough augh uhm uh. Any of the mandela catalogue victims (you can pick!!) with a long-distance friend reader who keeps an eye on them and opens their home up to them and their family they would want to evacuate? They just want to help in anyway they can :(

Yeah! Also in terms of "long distance" we'll say Reader lives in a different county with no Alternates or Alternate activity reported (but they're still aware of the invasion bc they keep up with the news).

Adam

As much as he appreciates you keeping in touch, he's dead set on staying where he is and and investigating Alternates.

He refuses to leave. Like ever.

After hearing about Jonah's death your concern over his safety only grows, and you even tell him he can bring Evelin should he change his mind-

Only to quickly learn they broke up a while ago, with him not even caring about her either..

Still, you insist that it's not too late for him to leave, though part of you fears that M.A.D already got to him (or you weren't actually speaking to Adam anymore).

His "obsession" with the Alternates has gone too far and you even threaten to drive down to Mandela yourself to convince him.

But he snaps that he doesn't want to be found by anybody before hanging up.

You haven't heard from him since, as he ignores your phone calls and PMs. You presume he's dead.

Cesar

He trusts you a lot despite the long distance and would 100% take you up on that offer.

But only if his mom is allowed to come along, of course. Though you assure him there's plenty of room for them both!

As much as he hates to leave the town and school, it's simply too dangerous for them to stay any longer.

He thought the broadcasts were just fear-mongering tactics if anything, but if you believe they're serious enough to warrant an evacuation...he'll take it seriously too

He hoped Mark would come with them, but unfortunately he doesn't trust you, an online "stranger", 100%. You understand though.

So he's left behind in Mandela.

And Vol 1 plays out as normal.

If Cesar ever learned that his friend died to an Alternate...he's gonna hold onto that guilt for a while, wishing he could have convinced him more.

Jonah

Your late night texts/calls have stopped him from having one too many panic attacks about everything that's been going on in Mandela.

He confides in you about the pressure he feels running from the law and BPS missions, and you simply listen. You reassure him he doesn't have to keep doing this.

If he ever wanted to leave, you'll let him and his dad stay with you; you give him your address and tell him just to consider it.

Let's say he survives Vol 2 by destroying the radio so Six stopped talking, before driving nonstop until he reaches your place, frantically knocking on your door.

When he finally sees you face-to-face for the first time....he immediately cries into your arms, exhausted.

It takes him a while to calm down, and even longer for him to confess that he abandoned Adam.

He's torn whether he was selfish or not for leaving, but just like always you're on Team Jonah, reassuring him that he did the right thing.

Adam, on the other hand, was like a lost cause. He could've gotten both of them killed.

Mark

Besides Cesar, you became a good friend of his despite only ever hearing your voice through calls and online chats.

You sound like a genuinely kind person, always looking out for him and up for talking into the late hours whenever he felt stressed or depressed.

When broadcasts of the Alternate invasion came out, you invited him to stay with you in your county--which was completely free of those "demons", as he called them.

He jumps at the first opportunity, not caring about school or anything anymore, packing whatever he needed.

Poor guy's far too paranoid to live in Mandela anymore.

He feels kinda awkward staying in your guest room, often asking you if it's alright for him to pray.

Whether you're religious or not, you reassure him it is. He's safe.
