there's too much animosity towards queer people who want to practice their faith/spirituality, both within their respective religions and within the LGBTQIA+ community.
we need to protect and lift up our queer siblings of faith.
our queer Christians.
our queer Jews.
our queer Muslims.
our queer Hindus.
our queer Buddhists.
our queer Sikhs.
our queer Baháʼís.
our queer Wiccans/Pagans.
our queer Shintos.
our queer siblings of indigenous/folk faiths.
our queer SBNR siblings.
our queer siblings of whatever religion/spiritual systems they observe.
you're all beautiful and valid and loved and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 💖

A little snippet from my story, St Benezet’s Basement, Tintin and Chang’s first case together since Chang came around to Belgium to study!
It’s their first night going undercover at St Benezet’s, a Catholic boy’s school that has had four students go missing. Chang experiences a bit of culture shock, and Tintin opens up a little about his upbringing.

I saw the children of God As they walked on slovenly by
this is concept art for a pmv, i am not sure yet if I’ll make it but if you guys like this then I’ll try! The idea is that mothwing will be drawn in water, and cats that believe in starclan can walk on water. There would be a few scenes of hawkfrost, probably trying to drag Mothwing into the water deeper, and things like that. I want to focus a bit on the broken code and starless clan mothwings too, like with willowshine’s death. anyway! let me know what you think ;__; !

BadBoyHalo's Prayers
Holy Father, God of Abraham and Isaac, grant me mercy that to love Your creation is to love You
Jesus Christ, Lamb of God, only Son of the Father, perfect sacrifice for the whole world, forgive my hunger, for a Lamb is very small and I need to eat more.
Holy Spirit, who entangles all our lives and all our deaths, cling to me as to the ram and let it be sacrifice enough to sate You.
Heavenly Father, Lover of Justice, place your thumb on the scales.
Most Merciful God, take me instead, but not away from my children.

I just learned that they're making new Chick tracts with a new artist and they are indescribable. Their aesthetic appears to be "a 90s clipart CD-ROM full of Wojak memes"

He. He is a meme isn't he? That's a meme right. It's at least trying to be meme-y right
It's called Trust The Science & I was guessing it'd be some anti-vax thing but instead it's about a lady (who in a twist turns out to be a doctor too, bc the people at Jack Chick Industries (TM) have begrudgingly accepted lady doctors exist) arguing with a scientist who uses carbon dating on some skeletons about how there were witnesses to Jesus, which also makes the Bible scientific since indirect after-the-fact accounts of eyewitnesses are the same thing as carbon dating, and all the other scientists magically appear in the room and convert on the spot and everyone claps, which is a weirdly low-key and confused story arc for Jack Chick Incorporated Inc. Where's the deranged energy of "Halloween is a cover for human sacrifice" and "D&D is a Satanic plot to teach real magic" and "the Catholic church employs one-eyed Vatican assassins"?
I never thought I'd say this, but I pine for the artistry of Jack Chick

i feel like there aren't nearly enough resources for people who leave a high-controlling religious environment and still want to seek God/spirituality in their own way without the toxicity of their previous religion.
most of the stuff out there is "your new life without God," "leaving God behind," etc...
people act like the natural next step from leaving a controlling religion is staunch atheism.
that might be the most common outcome, considering the trauma associated with God that such an upbringing can result in. and if that's the path you choose, that's perfectly valid. you process your trauma however you need to, as long as you're not hurting anyone.
but it's not the only possible outcome, and it doesn't work for everyone.
some people still feel the need to seek spirituality and feel as though they're not alone on a cosmic scale. (i'm one of those people.)
i feel like people fail to acknowledge this sometimes.

“Four disappearances, all students from the same college... and the police found nothing. Perhaps we should go undercover...”
@onabikaa sent me a message asking for more stuff on my “cult in a boarding school” idea! I was considering making a full post for it and your ask finally pushed me over to do it.
Story details under the Read More! This is already a long post. There’s some pretty dark themes so please let me know if you wish me to tag anything, cw for mentions of death, religion and cults:
This is one of the first cases Chang helps out with since coming over to Belgium. Four students from the same Catholic boy’s college go missing and the police are seemingly reluctant to investigate. They enrol into the school under false names to go undercover. Haddock has a lot of fun mocking the weird upper class culture that looked down upon him before he became wealthy, posing as their aristocratic father.
Tintin initially finds it easy to blend in, as this school is very similar to the one he attended as a child. However, these similarities start bringing back some deep childhood and religious traumas, which he first tries to push aside to focus on the case.
Chang immediately stands out, being one of the only non white students. He is quickly targeted. Tintin stands up for him, quickly leading to the school separating them.
The school tries to drive a wedge between them. Despite the school’s efforts they manage to meet at night, exchanging new information and making plans. With Chang’s encouragement, Tintin starts to open up about his own school trauma and touches on his past.
Chang later discovers documents detailing sales of precious metals - he is caught and captured by some students, who are all secretly a part of a cult. The cult is headed by the school administration who are exploiting their labour to mine metals in the deposits that were discovered around the school grounds.
I had the idea that the cult is broken up through empathy and compassion, leading to the surviving boys working together to escape the underground mine and reporting the school administration. I wanted to explore stuff like power structures and how they are maintained - basically I was thinking this would be a situation Tintin can’t punch his way out of, and a way to showcase Chang’s strengths as a character.
