Having watched all of UK Shameless and most of the US one, I was thinking about some of the characters.

So for example, Steve.

Obviously, the US Shameless is basically the exact same as the original for the first series, some of the second, and what bugged me about US Steve was that he was an absolutely shit version of the UK one. His delivery of some of UK Steve's quotes had me rolling my eyes, he has none of the charm that McAvoy's version does. Also, the way he treats her family. The appeal of UK Steve was rooted in the fact he actually wanted to be there, with her AND her family, not despite them. He starts off strong in this regard, but he poorly tanks out and you can see that he actually holds them in disdain and is there despite them.

Fiona, however, is both different and the same. I love them both equally, and the US Fiona just reminds me of how much I wish we got more of UK Fiona.

However, I really can't stand US Frank, he has its moments that are funny, but he absolutely has no redeeming qualities imo. UK Frank just does it better, it's hard to follow up his act. Plus, UK Frank definitely held more affection for his family, he was just not willing to put in the work. I also feel like his delivery for most of the jokes US Frank repeats were better, funnier.

Lip is definitely different too, and I like both versions a lot. His relationship with Mandy is better in the UK one. Ian is a mixed bag for me, I like them both, but UK Ian is very different. So, it's a bit weird to compare.

I prefer US Carl, but UK Carl is pretty fun too. Debbie, imo, is much better in the UK version. I don't dislike US Debbie, she definitely has some great storylines in the US one, but as a whole, I just prefer the UK one.

Kev and Vee had a very short run in the UK series, disappearing around Season 4? Which was a crying shame, because I absolutely loved them. I also absolutely love the US version of them, they are amazing. I actually can't choose a fav, because I love both so much.

I really wish the Maguires had been translated better into the US version, US Mickey is far better than UK, but I really hated Terry, and I think a version of Paddy would have been better. I absolutely loved Paddy and Mimi, and I wish there had been a US Mimi.

So here’s the thing, Ryan was cleared of the charges with the minor by the FBI. So stop reposting that. And honestly, exactly ZERO of her fans know her or Ryan or Mandy Moore or Phoebe Bridges. So it’s not anyone’s business. YOU ALL (myself included) have no clue what the details are.

She created that post tell you all to stop bullying her. She called attention to it to stop it. She can do what she wants with her life. She can post whatever she wants to post. She can date or be friends with or sleep with whoever she wants because she is an adult and does not need anyone’s permission for anything in her personal life. She left social media last time because y’all bullied her into it. You bashed her for messing up wording on a live because she was overwhelmed but so happy to talk. Then you got upset when she didn’t post for a while. Y’all bullied her because she is friends with Sean Maguire who said some not nice shit but SHE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER PEOPLES ACTIONS! This has got to stop.

Quite literally, your opinion does not matter. She is a real life human being with feelings. She is intelligent and you all support her when she does shit for you but when she does shit for her or defends herself, you get up in arms. Be a fan, but mind your own damn business!

Okay, let's talk for a moment. It's been a minute since I have done an OG post because I mainly just browse and don't tend to post my own stuff. I like to just repost.

I am almost 24 years old and shouldn't have to defend my interest in Fandom.

Youtube: I have been watching Mark since late 2013 and watching Jack since early 2014. I was part of Mark's channel when he was just starting out but didn't subscribe til late 2013.

Criminal Minds: I have been watching and enjoying Criminal minds since 2006. (I was 7 at the time.) At this time, Mandy Patinkin was still in his role as Jason Gideon, had Elle instead of Emily, and episodes were just coming out and still new. I did stop watching for a minute when I got super depressed and only cared for music, but do love it to the point where I do occasionally make posts about it.

Stranger Things: I did come into this Fandom very late. My friend told me that in Season 4, there would be someone I enjoyed. (She knew my type to be long haired, bad boy type, who is actually not a bad boy but looks the part.) I did start watching mid 2022. That does not make me any less of a fan.

Marvel: I started watching Marvel when I was younger. I remember going to the theaters and watching Iron Man when I was 9. I remember falling in love with Spiderman because of Tobey Maguire. I remember going to the theaters with an ex girlfriend to watch Thor the first time, (we were just friends at the time, became girlfriends later cause yes. I was only 12, and hadn't come out of the closet yet), I remember going to the theaters and seeing Deadpool with my ex boyfriend as a date night. I also remember my favorite memory with one of my friends is going to see Captain America: Civil War and then us going out to eat and shop at the mall afterwards. I fell in love with Loki very early on, and did get pretty obsessed with him cause he was a character I could relate to.

Supernatural: I fell in love the first time I heard "Dads on a hunting trip and he hasnt been home in a few days." I was only 12 when I first heard about the series, and while that was about 6 years after it began, I did find myself obsessing and buying the seasons as they came out on DVD. (We didn't have Netflix til I bought it when I was an Adult).

Man, I don't even know what else I repost the most on here anymore but that's just the gist.

I may not be as articulate as some trying to explain things and all that fun shit.

I don't really like gatekeepers. I think that everyone should be allowed to like what they like, and they can say shit to their own liking. Can some people be wrong and misinterpret information? Entirely! But they should be able to be kindly talked to on a correct interpretation.

Don't know, Fandoms seem to be getting more and more toxic, and it's kinda crap.
