i’m kinda late to this because i keep forgetting but HERE THEY ARE (some of these are stolen from my other headcanons post and also half of these are very unserious)
ian was so excited when debbie was born, he loved being a big brother. whenever anybody tried to take the newborn baby out of his arms, he would throw a fit and insist that the baby belonged to him and you can’t touch her!
the two of them have gotten drunk on mimosas at like 10 in the morning on several occasions
when debbie was in her phase where she was going on about “ginger racism” she kept sending ian photos of gingers/articles about discrimination against gingers and so he blocked her number (temporarily!)
they have a gallagher groupchat (canon) and debbie talks the most in it. ian leaves the groupchat constantly because of the spamming so she has to add him back
also kinda going off of that^ ian is horrible at responding to texts/calls and leaves debbie on read CONSTANTLY, which pisses debbie off, making her spam his messages/voicemail until he gives in and texts her back (she’s so me)
(pre-season 1) when frank and monica would fight ian would try to calm her down while fiona and lip tried to break up the fights. carl would usually be fine and just watch/go up to his room, but debbie would get scared and cry, worried about either of the parents getting hurt or leaving.
debbie used to make her siblings bracelets out of like rainbow loom and shit and she made ian the most and he, unlike lip, wore all of them (no matter how sparkly they were).
(pre-3x05) debbie would beg ian to take her with him when he went to the milkovich house to go see mandy, which was incredibly awkward for ian, considering what he was really doing going there to do.
debbie visited ian the most in prison (lip tried to also, but he was also focusing on tami and fred).
ian taught debbie how to throw a punch.
heidi runs away and devastates debbie, which leads to her crying over her loneliness and venting to ian constantly, so eventually ian and mickey come up with a way to reunite sebbie (yes i’m writing about this).
also this isn’t a headcanon but i have a question and it’s why the fuck wasn’t sandy at ian and mickey’s anniversary party if she was so important in the wedding like that could’ve been our tiny sebbie reunion we could’ve gotten like one frame of them talking and i’d be satisfied

What’s a headcanon you can’t stop thinking about? i have a very specific headcanon for a tattoo ian gets post-canon for mickey, and i hesitate to even explain it now bc i think one day i do wanna write a fic about him getting it, but whatever--my headcanon is that he gets an M tattooed on his left ring finger and it's a subtle yet sweet nod to his husband. (i could talk about this for 9 hours but i will limit myself and stop here)
What’s a fanart you love looking at? i've spent an obscene amount of time staring at this fanart by @doodlevich it just checks all my boxes (domestic, husbands, fluff, etc.) and it's so well done, i'm obsessed with this pieces

What’s an underrated trope or concept you’d like to see more of? honestly i want more s9/10 prison era gallavich fics (and/or fanart). i think it's a gold mine era with so much untapped potential, and there are very few fics/series/whatever that really get deep with it and get to the good stuff of these two boys who haven't spent any significant time together in years but still love each other like they did way back when

What line/dialogue/description from something else (a poem, a book, a tv show, a movie, or something else) do you feel describes Ian and Mickey’s relationship? can i do song lyrics? i'm gonna do song lyrics--i've always thought the song godlight by noah kahan was very gallavich, especially the chorus, and especially during s4/5/6 era and it may or may not be a piece of inspiration for my big bang canon divergent fic
What do you think is next for Ian and Mickey post-finale? i think they take a while to really settle into their new place and and make it their own, and it's a bit of an adjustment (for both of them) to fit in with this new crowd and this new environment, but they're learning how to grow and evolve together and at the end of the day that's all that really matters to the both of them

-Just happened, don't look at me like that . The " social ankward and LET'S FUCKING GOOOO " couple . Beatrice arlready had a crush on Dan when he was a nerd . He didn't notice after he became a jock . Dan truly treated her different in comparison with other nerds. Every time Beatrice does something clumsy to Dan, he has a fit because of so much tenderness, even though it doesn't show that much. Dynamic duo: they have each other's back. Once a greaser started bothering Beatrice too much, Dan spawned out of nowhere and hit him in the balls so hard that it literally made him scream like he was being killed. They often receive disapproval from their peers but they don't give a shit . For some strange reason Mandy no longer harasses Bea like before (✿☉｡☉). And even stranger, the nerds are even nicer to Dan than before (well, everyone except Earnest).

-I love it I love it please be eternal my dear god's . Hair and clothes combo , chaotic neutral bf's . Chances are, their friends and other students have seen them kiss or get too affectionate at some point, but most of them doesn't surprise or even cared very much because they saw it come in some point ( the first time was just "oh u are dating ? Cool now let me go back to my ordinary life" thing ) . Fruity in equallity , but Gord it's the blushingboys Maschine n° 9000 for Excellence . Vance has to stand on tiptoe to kiss Gord , It's small but tremendous. Gord definitely punched an old karen in the face just for a discount jacket as a gift for Vance. His greaser boyfriend had to defend him and end up saying: " Babe I love you and all that but you gotta admit even I have limits " . ( Ok he whould never say that but whatever ) .

54. Mickey’s mom is alive
56. Ian is close to Clayton
So I had to do a lot of thinking on this one. Ultimately, what I came up with is this: An AU where Monica and Clayton’s affair was exposed very early on and in response, Clayton decided to gain custody of Ian as a baby. (I know the idea of Ian not growing up with the other Gallagher siblings hurts but hear me out).
So Clayton raises Ian on the richy north side. And on the surface, Ian’s life is pretty great. He loves his father, his half-siblings, and even his stepmother treats him like one of her own despite the messiness of how he was conceived. But deep down, Ian grows up thinking there’s something different about him…like he doesn’t quite fit in with the very normal (and kind of boring) lifestyle that his family leads. He knows about Monica’s existence and that he has half siblings that live on the south side, but Clayton is pretty cagey with details about Monica and keeps Ian sheltered from that side of his family. But that doesn’t stop Ian from being curious about it.
Everything comes into a head when a new family moves in across the street from them when Ian is around fourteen.
Laura Milkovich returns to Chicago when Mickey and Mandy are around sixteen and fourteen respectively. (I have a HC that Mickey and Mandy are full siblings that look like their mother with their dark hair/blue eye coloring while the rest of the Milkoviches had a different mother). Finally clean from having completed years of rehab and now happily engaged to a wealthy man. Using her fiancé’s money, she fights to obtain an official divorce from Terry and to gain custody of Mickey and Mandy, eventually succeeding. She and her fiancé marry and move with Mickey and Mandy to the north side.
Mickey and Mandy’s relationship with Laura is initially complicated. They still resent her for leaving them with Terry for as long as she did. And they now feel like fish out of water in this new north side life she’s put them in. As fucked up as it was, they miss the south side in a way because it was all they knew.
And then they meet the kid across the street.
Mickey, Mandy, and Ian surprisingly become fast friends. There’s something rough and adventurous about Ian that makes him more fun for Mickey and Mandy to be around than any of the other yuppies in their north side neighborhood. And Mickey and Mandy represent the excitement that Ian has always secretly longed for. They go on misadventures together and grow closer. (Ian and Mickey obviously eventually realizing that their feelings for each other aren’t just platonic). Mickey and Mandy eventually help Ian sneak out and finally meet the other Gallaghers. Ian helps Mickey and Mandy grow to understand Laura better (and that she was a victim of Terry in her own way too). Along with the Gallavich romance, there’d also be a lot of family and friendship angst and exploration in this idea.

It’s under a read more bc it’s kinda a big post lmao, also not particularly ordered because my brain combusted just trying to think of 9 (ended up with 8 but why not it’s my favourite number) and a bit on why they’re there bc it was a fun revisit tbh.
Oh this is going to be a great getting to know me exercise 🥲
1. Rick Prime (Rick and Morty)
The current favourite little goblin. Could never explain why he was a fave but after unmortricken and the subtext threaded throughout s7 I think it's finally coming together especially when I think of other faves in this post (I have a bad habit with faves with seeing them for 0.5 seconds and deciding they're a fave and only later realising why as more about their character is revealed)
To avoid sharing more of my thoughts about his character (and clowning harder than I've already let slip and bc it's mostly interpretation and hc) Let's just say I think there's so much about Prime that is not fully understood yet and I can't wait to see how they address it (also pour one out for another victim of the curse of many of my faves dying in horrible brutal ways with unresolved emotional conflict)

Can’t explain this one too much either yet tbh. Another on sight fave. Precious little goblin who cares immensely for his family and seems to want to have friends/an adventurous life but is distanced by how he's wrapped up in conflict and chaos ever since he fell into the abyss as a child.

"And the clashing of steel shall ever accompany you."
He has a constant desire for battle and proving himself (likely because it’s how he learned to survive/possibly because it keeps him occupied and it is a horrible cycle). He’s likely also addicted to the thrill of winning/surviving/overcoming due to this as well.
I constantly worry he's going to die. Pleasantly surprised that he hasn't so far. I want to see him develop. I want to see him peel away from the Fatui (bc he’s clearly unhappy and he dislikes a majority of the other harbingers but they’re a means of both keeping his family supported and seeking challenging battle). I want to see him do well and realise he's more than just “a weapon” to serve the tsaritsa’s purpose but the whole abyss thing is a LOT of unresolved trauma that he has never properly been addressed. And boy oh boy does he have a lot of death flags.
3. Amanda Young (Saw)
Ohhh Mandy. She's so, disaster. She has this depth of compassion and raging conflict inside her. Following John just because he gave her a hint of purpose while still regretting what she's become to some extent (secretly continuing harm/trying to kill Adam/wanting to help the fellow addict and being visibly distressed when they died etc) and making unwinnable traps as she thinks they didn’t deserve a second chance.
Likely because she harbors the fact she both doesn't feel worthy of a second chance herself and knows what this "second chance" has made her become, she doesn’t feel that purpose, doesn’t feel like she is grateful for living as John claims. The whole scene where she’s pointing the gun at Lynn and the “nobody fucking changes, it’s all bullshit, it’s all a fucking lie and I’m just a pawn in your stupid game. I don’t mean anything to you.” “So help me. Fix me. Fix me motherfucker, I’m standing right here.” Haunts me a little. Ahhh mandy 😭 I cry every time at that fucking scene.
It hurts to see her devotion to John (and he refuses to give up on her to the point of his death, he believed in her most of all, because she was the example of his ideology) while also seeing her so fundamentally disagree with his principles through her own struggles. She's just pain, pain, agony. Pain. (Another victim of the unresolved emotional conflict deaths 👏)
4. Danny “Jed Olsen” Johnson (Dead by Daylight Ghostface)
Idk why but the dbd ghostface is just so so good. Like I love the Scream movies sure but Danny is a special case. (Also I was a ghostface/stealth killer main back in my dbd days lmao) Danny's story and persona is great, from the Roseville murders, to how he writes/visualises the crimes before they happen, the way he wears certain perfumes during special kills. He’s just so interesting as a ghostface. He seems obsessed with the horror; the unexpected, the atmosphere, the anticipation, the thrill, the reverence of his stories and legacy. He seems to almost feed off of the human response, the fear and resulting chaos when people read his stories in the paper after each kill.
The local police were confounded: the murders were carried with fury akin to a crime of passion yet coldly premeditated.
The scarier the story, the more he appreciated his life. The truth of the stories made them far more potent.
He’s so in love with making a carefully constructed, terrifying story come to life. Yet he’s still impulsive and hot headed when something in his design falls apart. Ah reminds me on the days I’d write paragraphs on analysing his character based on the small background we had before the archive tome 🥰
And I will always adore how well his gameplay in dbd lines up with him as a character.
5. Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)
Listen I have such a soft spot for Gintama and by extension Gintoki himself. He acts lazy, aloof/sarcastic, unattached and a bit "not my problem, don't care, glhf with that"/selfish but he always has a good heart in the end. Often putting himself in danger to help others and going the extra mile for them when they're at the end of their rope. Notably from memory for broken families and people desperate for reconciliation/a second chance.
This anime had so many emotional beats for how silly it looks on the surface. I remember crying from emotional impact into crying from laughter in the same episode when I first watched the series. Also a lot of heartfelt moments of advice and commentary on the human condition. He’s so adorable. Parfait king.
6. Kokichi Oma (DRV3)
Here we go. Not my proudest one (was honestly a little scared to mention him because of the fandom/character perception etc but DR series was a huge part of my teen years along with RPG horrors so rip) but man does this kid mess me up. It hurts so much how he was just trying to investigate and end the killing game in his own way (trust issues so he refused to openly team up). And the way he spirals so hard in the trial after getting Gonta (who, I think he did consider a friend) killed as self defence against Miu is just 💔
The way he considered them all friends and in an attempt to end the killing game, he died slowly and painfully, while knowing they all hated him.💔 Yes his means/the way he went about it were fucked, yes I understand why people hate him. But jesus christ does understanding his motives and his emotions during the game fucking hurt. (another unresolved emotional conflict death let’s gooo)
7. Tiffany Valentine (Child's play series/chucky tv show)
Oh I love her so much. She gets two gifs bc I can’t choose. She was like the highlight of s2 especially. I love her energy, her swings, her endless obsession with/pursuit of knowing true, all consuming love; the way she will not be devoid of all humanity and loves her kids and will realise some things Chucky does are awful while still conversely doing absolutely abhorrent things herself (the Nica incident perhaps?). Will never argue with seeing more of her. I'm so glad the show delivers. (I still need to catch up on s3 though). I would honestly love a little more of her formative story, how she became Valentine.
8. Michael Myers (Halloween)
Another showing my love of horror here but this big guy is a classic. Actually what got me into horror so intensely tbh. I love his little arts and crafts. The way he'll string up a whole scene just to get the most screams and fear. The way he panics when his mask is removed. I do always wonder about him. I mean we're told he's evil in human form but I can't help but feel Loomis gave up on him. Everyone did. I don't doubt it's as basic as him being the shape of evil and that's fine but I like how ambiguous it has always been. There is no clear cut answer on why Michael is what or who he is and I love it.
Wow love the recurring themes here. I’m sure I probably forgot a few older faves too but oh well. Time to not analyse those and go sleep.

i will do you one better and give you both. my three best beloveds:
sometimes having amanda around isn't good for adam, because even if they're close now, she was still his kidnapper and attacker and it's hard to separate that from the present when he's having an episode. so she makes herself scarce, but when adam is doing better they snuggle on the couch together and amanda whispers that she's sorry (because she is, she regrets hurting adam more than she regrets hurting most), and adam's like. i know. it's not quite forgiveness but he loves her and he understands, and that's more than enough.
adam and lawrence are often all over each other in some capacity but i do think hand touching is a big thing for them specifically (something about how they thought the first time they touched would also be their last). they're always holding hands or one of them is resting his hand on the other's thigh/neck/shoulder/whatever or lawrence is kissing adam's fingertips. it helps ground them both and they both just...crave any kind of normal romance and domesticity given how abnormal the rest of their life is.
adam is sometimes (often) annoying just for the hell of it and lawrence likes to pretend he’s not stupidly endeared by it and adam will just be like you LOVE me you SAVED me you share a bed with me every night i’m your baby and your sweetheart and your honey and-- while kissing all over his face and lawrence pretends not to be so stupidly endeared by it but he is.
amanda takes john’s death the hardest and even though adam is secretly glad the old fraud is dead, he lets mandy cry on his shoulder and she smokes through an entire pack of his cigarettes and kisses her head and lets her sleep with him and lawrence that night in one huge cuddle pile.
i've said before that adam is the one with the garden at casa de jigsquad, and to help it thrive but also to quell amanda's issues around food being wasted, he's very diligent about making compost from all the scraps. they briefly considered getting a chicken but they took one look at bastard eating a pigeon alive and decided not to risk it.
adam has generally gone through life thinking that he's stupid and won't ever accomplish much. plenty of people have told him as much, and he's well aware that high school dropout slash freelance photographer slash unwilling serial killer isn't the thing that looks good on a resume. so he's down on himself about it a lot, but lawrence takes his hand and is like. hey. stop that. you're a lot smarter than you give yourself credit for, adam. you could go back to school, you know. get your GED, and college if you wanted. or you could take your photography to the next level, or find a new avenue that you want to pursue. you have a lot to offer the world. and adam doesn't really know what to say at first, because if it was anyone else it'd feel like an insult or mockery, because adam isn't actually capable of any of that. but this is lawrence. and well. lawrence would't lie to him.
sometimes lawrence gets upset about his amputation, thinks his stump looks ugly and feels embarrassed about having to put on his prosthetic and use the cane. he’s been raised to believe he’s only worthy if he’s perfect (or appears perfect and keeps everything else hidden), and the amputated foot makes him feel anything but. he doesn’t like sharing his own pain, isn’t used to it and thinks adam’s is more valid, but adam is always able to pry it out of him. holds lawrence close and reassures him that he’s worthy of so much even if he isn’t always perfect, and he’s not ruined because he’s now disabled, and the reason why he lost it is because he had to save his family. adam doesn’t want him to feel any shame in that
adam and amanda like to go on long drives together. they don't ever have a destination in mind, and sometimes they don't even talk or listen to music. just being in each other's company is enough. wherever they end up, they'll end up together.
okay. fine. here's one nsfw one: people obviously make a lot of assumptions about adam and lawrence’s relationship (dishevelled younger man/wealthy older man) and even though they are genuinely together and in love. they both kind of get off on the idea of playing into those assumptions. like they go to a fancy hotel for a weekend and do weird roleplay surrounding the idea that they’re having an illicit affair and adam is just a toy lawrence uses to get his dick wet and forget about his marital problems for the night. it's a little weird but they're happy and not hurting anyone. so.
one day, adam and lawrence are cuddling on the couch, playing with each other's hands, and lawrenceslips a ring onto adam's finger. and adam freezes and stares at lawrence who kisses his forehead and says that can signify whatever you want. but i need you to know that...you're it for me. you're my future. whatever you want, i'm willing to offer it to you. i love you, adam. you're my life. and adam starts laughing and crying at the same time and pins lawrence down on the couch to kiss him and says yes yes i'll marry you the ring means we're engaged yes yes i'll become your trophy wife you ridiculous old man and it'll dawn on him as lawrence grins and kisses him back, that maybe, there's a way out of this. a happy life for them away from the jigsaw legacy. whatever he wants, lawrence is all in. forever.

I wrote a fic but I got so fed up with it and hated how it turned out. TANGERINE MEETING MANDY’S FUTURE BF.
bc he's her dad, he knows nothing about her boyfriend. only bits you've told him (repeating encounters you were told as her mother)
initially, he tries to be intimidating, but his twenty-some years of fatherhood have essentially turned him to mush. he still has his intimidation tactics for when he needs it, but he's nowhere near 'scary' like he used to be
her bf brings flowers for you and shakes tan's hand when you all first meet. it makes a great impression on him!!!
maybe he wants to hate his daughters bf, but the more they talk, he can't find a fault. he appreciates how interested in conversation he is, and how he makes efforts to engage. he notices how the bf seems like a genuine, nice guy and very clearly loves mandy
the bf helps clean the table after, offering his help and it all just ticks off boxes in tan's brain. maybe tan and the bf clean up and they talk for a bit in the kitchen. and the bf shares his interests and they're mostly all things tan enjoys too. goes into a conversation about how tans fixing up a car in his spare time (he retired early, so he's finding new hobbies) and the bf says he's just got done finishing one with his dad. tan offers if he wants to come over and help sometime (it's like he's got a new little friend, but he's trying not to be so keen)
tan doesn't want to outright say he approves, so he says it subtly to be picked up in context clues. like "you'll have to come over for dinner again sometime" or "we're having a bbq at the weekend, you're welcome to join"
before mandy and the bf leaves, he tells mandy she picked a good one. and then she's super happy that she's got her dads approval as it means a lot to her. especially bc he hates most people

✶ teared up when he found out you guys were gonna have a girl cause it reminded him of him and his older sister
✶ always holds her close to his body 24/7 and ends up falling asleep with her in his arms
✶ during the early weeks and months of your daughter's life, he dreads leaving you two and always wants to be with his girls
✶ when he carries/holds her, he feels as if he's looking in the mirror as she looked exactly like him but with your hair (first born girls tend to look more like their fathers when they're younger)
✶ hamzah is always the one to make you and your daughter food
✶ if she happens to wake up in the middle of the night, he's quick to make her a bottle of milk if she's hungry or he rocks her to sleep (especially the first weeks after her birth so you could rest well)
"it's okay i got this covered, go sleep." he tells you, pecking your forehead before leaving to go to the baby room
✶ spoils her and it gets even worse when she's older!!!
✶ he loves to watch cartoons and play dolls with her, even roleplays when she asks him to

so it's not remotely a perfect 1:1 or anything, but @stranger-rants talking about Shameless and Billy - Karen Jackson parallels has got me thinking about a harringroveson let's say 'shameless inspired' au with Karen!Billy, Mandy!Eddie, and Lip!Steve, but with waaaaay less out of left field character assassination, and eventual poly instead of dumb bullshit.
Eddie doesn't have as sharp an edge as Mandy, but he does have a familiarity and facility with crime, and I can see him with a big chip on his shoulder about how other people see him but leaning into it nonetheless. (personally I hc his dad as being a kind of Frank type, a lifetime, but largely petty, criminal)
Steve’s not an academic genius, but he’s certainly starved for stable love and slick like Lip, and I think it would be interesting to explore that in a context where he wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
