Final Destination 2 (2003)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ .5
Tumblr media
I’m aware I am watching these films out of order, I still can’t find the first one on Criterion on Demand, but c’est la vie.
Maybe it’s because I always believe my friends, but I would never have let my friend drive onto the highway after hearing her vision. Wack. Her friends were not there for her.
I can’t help but feel like this whole series is like that text post about Apollo gifting people with Sight.
(Edit: THIS ONE!)
Tumblr media
Also very wild to say “have you noticed anything ironic?” to a person that believes they’re going to die. That’s pretty twisted.
Also, sometimes, it’s not fate coming to get you, it’s a lack of kitchen safety and WHIMS knowledge. It all gets us in the end. Regardless, the tension in each death scene is so worth it.
I think that this twist on the original narrative was compelling but sometimes the actors couldn’t sell it. See: “See what? 😐 Pigeons? 🤨” and “😃 Tim! 😐” Other actors were putting their whole pussy into their performance to the point of near camp. But I think that horror movies like this make a person like myself easier to digest the horror.
You should watch this film for:
The yearly reminder that WHIMIS safety is indeed important
Edging. You get it if you have seen a single movie in this franchise.
The mid 00s dialogue, with gems like “Suck my junk, biatch!”
Similar titles:
The rest of the Final Destination Franchise (ig)
Escape Room (2019) (deals with a lot of planned horror, and asks the question ‘who will make it out alive?’)

Lynda Boyd and Jewel Staite
We were introduced to Lynda Boyd in the episode Siren. She played Callie Snow’s evil manager, Evelyn.
Tumblr media
It was never fully detailed, but she had a sore spot with the family because Rick and Molly hired Irene to be their manager instead of her.
Tumblr media
Earlier this month when Jewel Staite made a video about her time on So Weird, her caption mentioned Lynda.
Tumblr media
As someone who saw every episode of Family Law, I couldn’t place Lynda and had to search. She looks so different now.
Tumblr media
Spoiler alert: she has a recurring role as Victor Garber’s girlfriend. Victor Garber who plays Jewel Staite’s absent-until-recently father.
The pictures doesn’t show it, but Lynda’s character - TV personality and controversial celebrity Crystal Steele - is... not nice either. Hence, Jewel calling each of her characters a psycho.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, Lynda Boyd and Jewel Staite were both on X-Files, DaVinci’s Inquest, and Higher Ground.
A lot of times their guest appearances didn’t overlap and they rarely shared the screen, but they have been in and out of contact for the past two decades.

📽️ The War Bride (2001)
My mother recommended this movie to me, and it seemed right up my alley so I watched it. It’s definitely my style of movie, but I found the main character extremely annoying. She was presumptuous and somewhat entitled and ungrateful. I’m not saying that what she goes through in the movie is easy, but her attitude and actions were also not good. The husband’s mom and sister were a bit confusing, as well as the townspeople. It was one of those movies that made me frustrated because communication would have fixed so much. All in all, I probably wouldn’t watch it again, but I would still suggest it to others because it is definitely interesting.
Sex/nudity: 4/10 (kissing/making out, almost sex, implied sex, sex scene with no nudity, topless female nudity)
Language: 1/10 (maybe a couple mild profanities)
Violence: 1/10 (war aftermath shown)
Overall rating: 6/10

AUTUMN REESER, PAOLO BERNARDINI, ALISON SWEENEY AND LACEY CHABERT ARE JOINED BY KACEY ROHL AND CARLO MARKS IN ‘THE WEDDING VEIL INSPIRATION,’ A NEW, ORIGINAL MOVIE PREMIERING JANUARY 14, ON HALLMARK CHANNEL
Part of the Network’s “New Year New Movies” Programming Event
STUDIO CITY, CA – January 10, 2023 – Autumn Reeser (“Entourage,” “The O.C.”), Paolo Bernardini (“Lost and Found in Rome”), Alison Sweeney (“Days of our Lives”) and Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls) return in “The Wedding Veil Inspiration,” a new, original movie premiering January 14, 2023 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel, as part of the network’s “New Year, New Movies” programming event. Kacey Rohl (“The Magicians”) and Carlo Marks (“Chesapeake Shores”) also star.
In the second movie of this sequel trilogy, Emma (Reeser) is sticking to her five year plan, as Paolo (Bernardini) prepares to open a lace shop in Chicago with his cousin Matteo (Marks). On track to assume a promotion to department chair, Emma feels strongly that things fall into place before she and Paolo can consider growing their family. However, Paolo worries that that day may never come. When a crisis at home calls Paolo back to Italy, the couple must navigate busy schedules to make time for each other from afar. Missing Paolo, Emma bumps heads with Nancy (Lynda Boyd, “Virgin River”), the current chair of her department and begins to question her life choices. Thankfully, she has frequent calls, texts and visits with Tracy (Sweeney) and Avery (Chabert), who seem to know her better than she knows herself. She also has a friend in her smart and quirky teacher’s aide, Lily (Rohl), who provides Emma with a novel opportunity to get people excited about art, but it might mean giving up everything she’s worked for. Meanwhile, Emma cannot help but notice a spark between Lily and Matteo – who both happened to be touching the veil when they met. As Emma tries to get Lily to trust her heart, she must find the courage to stop planning her own dream life and start living it.
“The Wedding Veil Inspiration” is from Veil Road V Productions and Front Street Pictures. Beth Grossbard, Lisa Demberg, Autumn Reeser and Harvey Kahn are executive producers. Allen Lewis is supervising producer and Charles Cooper is producer. Terry Ingram directed from a script by Betsy Morris, inspired by the book There Goes the Bride by Lori Wilde.
