My Three Most Important Rights

Human Rights guarantee people to satisfy their basic needs, such as food, expression, housing, safety and education. It protect people against abuse and slavery by those who are more powerful.

One of my most important rights includes under the article 10 of civil rights which is the Freedom of opinion and information. At this time of pandemic, information, facts, opinions and point of views are very important in the view of the Filipino citizens. They have to be updated from time to time on what are the important events or issue happening in the country. That is why media reporters and respective channels exist, not only for entertainment but also for delivering such important news and reports to the viewers on television, listeners to the radio and netizens on the social media. The performance of the government and the status of the Covid19 is the hottest news everyday and many opinions are received from the Filipinos either criticizing or applauding the issue. I think we indeed have a right in participating in such issues wherein our opinion really matter in order to improve the performance of the government in handling such issues. The saying always goes, there is always a room for improvement, and I think we are indeed part of that what so called room.

Second with my most important rights includes under the article 26 of social rights which is the Right to Education. As we all know, in the Philippine allocation proposed budget for 2021, the education sector rank first in the list. Education has been the main foundation of development especially with the children and students, as they were the pillar of development in our country someday or somehow. Each and everyone who are born as a Filipino citizen possessed this right to education as well as me, either enrolled in private or public school. If we talk about these two types of school, private encompasses a tuition fee and another miscellaneous fee, while public schools are scope of the government in paying such fees. Everyone is entitled to have education, but not just simply education, quality education as well for everyone.

Last and third with my most important rights includes under the article 24 of social rights which is the right to leisure and peace. I think all people deserved this kind of right, wherein they need a break on problematic issues and their personal problems. This is also very important to me because of the exhaustion I experienced, attending school works and family obligations inside our house. Not to mention the emptiness we may feel inside when we are alone and no one to talk to, this right exercised our right to feel alive again after a long and tiring day of our life. That is why day off and leave are also granted to employees, and weekends or vacation to the students.
