why aren't there more mysteries that take place in nursing homes & retirement communities. i want to watch a group of deranged retirees-cum-amateur-detectives combine their powers of:
decades of life experience
boredom-fueled busybody shamelessness
access to the most gossipy next-door-neighbors in existence
"I am too old to be arrested and/or give a shit" attitude
and solve crimes. this should be an enormous subgenre.

“Äiti itki. Isä lähti huoneesta. Vivian istui nurkassa ja kuunteli vaiti. Kissamme Minni hyppäsi vuoteelle ja käpertyi jalkojeni päälle ja kehräsi, sillä kehräämällä parannetaan sairaita.”
— Emmi Itäranta. Kuunpäivän kirjeet
“Mom cried. Dad left the room. Vivian sat in the corner and listened quietly. Our cat Minni jumped on the bed and curled up on my legs and purred, for through purring the sick are healed.”
— Emmi Itäranta. The Moonday Letters. Quote tranlated by me (unofficial)

Feeling weirdly emotional that we're going from this:
to this
idk maybe this is just a me thing, maybe this is just from rewatching S1 last night, but going from Blackbeard, shrouded in mystery, where at that point the viewers still think he's going to be a Big Baddie, and we meet him at night surrounded by dark shadows and bloodshed with a big beard and his hair partially shielding his face...
and now we have Ed. Out and about in broad daylight, running some errands, as you do. Still has a beard but we see so much more of his face. And he's irritated and fed up and hurt and in love but also... a lil goofy. He's Ed. He's in love. We're still peeling off the layers to learn more about him but he's so, so real.
I'm just so excited to have him back.

The thing I can't get over about Lord of the Rings and the perfection it presents, is that it all feels... dreamy, but genuine? You feel like you were there. The props, scenery, decoration, clothing, animals, are 99 percent real... crafted with creative hands. Directed with passion. They were careful not to use the green screen and CGI effects too much, which has been greatly praised for since the Hobbit came out, and it definitely aged well. However, this is different - you feel the emotions that everyone has. You feel the cool breeze at the top of Rohan's peak. You can feel the anguish Gandalf has when Faramir is sent to his death. You feel the exhaustion Sam and Frodo have on Mount Doom. You feel the love the characters have for one another. Then when it's all over, and Sam closes his door followed by that final note from the Shire flute, you feel complete emptiness as you have to go back into reality.
It's bittersweet, but it's why I love LotR so much. You don't get many movies like that anymore.

*SQUEE!*
The first two episodes of Love for Love's Sake are perfect.
He is perfect.
He's gonna be perfect.
These two are perfect.
And I think there is color coding when they are together.
Cha Yeo Woon wears a white undershirt with his white backpack and white phone, and Tae Myung Ha wears a black undershirt with a dark backpack and has a dark phone (which I think are actually blue!).
I already love ALL of them.
They are perfect, but Ahn Kyung Hun is the most perfect.
LOOK AT HIM!
Perfect.

what about some sort of buddy cop, same age, enemies to lovers au where obi-wan is a jedi and anakin is a coruscanti detective and they literally hate each other and have no respect for the other (obi-wan thinks anakin is a waste of the coruscant budget and a jedi wannabe; anakin thinks obi-wan is a pretentious space monk asshole)
(anakin has personally arrested obi-wan for speeding three times, drinking in public spaces 4 times -- the public space was a bar btw -- and indecent public exposure once. that last one was, tbh, fair cause obi-wan had his dick out in an alley way lol)
(obi-wan has literally stalked this asshole coruscanti cop off planet before and arrested him in his capacity as Jedi Knight for not using his turn signal when changing hyperspace lanes (once), for podracing betting (3 times), and for possession of a galacticly banned substance (twice))
it's not that they're obsessed with each other, it's just that something keeps forcing them together in the wildest, most unpredictable situations, and it's annoying as hell because they're completely fed up with each other
then the senate moves to have a new task force stood up to solve a series of Force-related crimes in the Coruscanti underworld. the task force would include a representative from the Jedi Temple and one from the Coruscanti guards, obviously. and really, obi-wan and anakin are the perfect choices! they're both highly intelligent, dedicated, trustworthy, and incorruptible.
if only they'd stop trying to push each other off the 51st story of coruscant and actually put their heads together to solve the crime
