i honest to god love flipped. like i've watched it a couple of times it's just one of those ones that i can watch again and again but no one ever talks about it so i'm thrilled that you've seen it! at least there's like one other person out there lol

Juli Baker and Bryce Loski grew up in a small town in Indiana. Juli was a kind-hearted girl, known for her compassion and her love of trees. Bryce was a quiet boy, who often kept to himself, but when he spoke up, his opinions were strong.
Juli had been infatuated with Bryce since the first time she saw him in second grade. She admired his good looks and his athletic ability, but what drew her to him most was his mind. He was the smartest boy in their class, and even when he was quiet, Juli could tell that his mind was always working.
Bryce, on the other hand, had always been aware of Juli's crush on him, but he didn't know how to react to it. He appreciated her friendship, but he didn't see her in the same way she saw him.
As they grew older, Juli's feelings for Bryce only grew stronger, but she never acted on them. She didn't want to make things awkward between them or risk losing his friendship.
Bryce, meanwhile, had become more opinionated as he grew older. He was a member of a local boys' club, and he often debated with his friends about politics and social issues.
One day, when Bryce was 18 and Juli was 17, they found themselves alone in the schoolyard after the last bell had rung. Juli was admiring a tree when Bryce approached her.
"Hey Juli, what are you doing here all alone?" he asked.
"Just admiring this tree. Don't you think it's beautiful?"
Bryce looked at the tree skeptically. "It's just a tree, Juli. What's so special about it?"
Juli smiled. "I don't know. I just think it's amazing that something so small can grow into something so big and beautiful."
Bryce nodded, and they fell into a comfortable silence. After a few minutes, he spoke up again.
"Juli, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Do you still have a crush on me?"
Juli felt her face turn red. "I don't know what you're talking about," she said, but she knew that Bryce could see right through her.
"It's okay, Juli. I'm not mad or anything. I just wanted to know."
Juli sighed. "Yes, Bryce, I do still have a crush on you. I probably always will."
Bryce looked at her for a moment, and then he smiled. "You know, Juli, I've always admired you too. You're one of the kindest people I know, and you always stand up for what you believe in."
Juli's heart skipped a beat. Could it be possible that Bryce had feelings for her too?
"Bryce, what are you saying?" she asked.
"I'm saying that I want to be with you, Juli. I want to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you."
Juli's eyes widened in shock, and then she smiled. "Yes, Bryce. Yes, I'll marry you!”
And so, they were married in a small ceremony at the local church, surrounded by their family and friends. Bryce continued to voice his opinions, but now he did it with a newfound respect for Juli's views. And Juli continued to be the kind-hearted person that she had always been, supporting Bryce through his successes and his failures.
They built a life together, full of love and laughter. They had children and raised them with the same values that they had been taught as children. And through it all, they remained best friends, partners, and the loves of each other's lives.

Chapter two

JULI BAKER POV
I can't believe Mrs. Smith did this.
It's unbelievable. Unbelievable.
So far, I had done a pretty good job of ignoring Bryce Loski. A rather great job, I would say. Until this damn project came along and ruined everything.
Annoyed, I lean back in my chair, trying to control my frown as I stare at the book in front of me. I am in the library, sitting at a table near the window. It is a comfortable place, and quiet enough to work. I like it here.
Too bad I won't be alone.
As if listening to my thoughts, I hear footsteps approaching, hurrying across the marble floor. I don't turn around. Instead, I pretend to concentrate on reading the book. I keep my head down, even as he sits down in front of me and settles on the chair.
I can notice his fearful gaze on me, even though I do not face him. This irritates me deeply. I want to scream at him to get out of here, to scream at him to stop looking at me and leave me alone. But of course I don't do that.
“Um... hi”, Bryce says, looking somewhat shy.
I look at him only for a moment, forcing my face to show the coldest expression I'm capable of.
“Hi.”
Then I go back to concentrating on my reading. But it is hard to pay attention to the text with Bryce's presence, fidgeting on the bench, clearing his throat, and demonstrating that he is here every two seconds. As much as I try to ignore it, it is unavoidable. As if every instinct in my body, every fiber of my being, warns me of this constant threat. A silent vibration in my brain: Bryce Loski, Bryce Loski, Bryce Loski.
I will not stand for this.
Desperate, I grab the book in front of me and practically throw it at Bryce, on the table surface. He is startled, pulling away minimally and looking at the object with confusion.
“Read it starting on page 5. It's the content we have to study for the project”, I announce, firmly and nonchalantly. “I'll... be right back.”
Before he can answer, I duck out of his way and make my way as quickly as possible between the shelves, the comfortable smell of books calming my nerves. Once I'm far enough away, I stop walking and try to control my breathing.
Damn, damn, damn. How am I going to do this without having a seizure?
I stand here for a few seconds, the past events returning to my mind. Bryce standing by the lockers. The letter I made shaking in my hands. Everyone laughing around me. Laughing at me.
I push the memory away as fast as it came. I close my eyes, forcing myself to stop thinking about it. Then I open them again and return to where Bryce is.
He seems to be reading the contents of the book, but looks at me as soon as he sees me return. I ignore him, returning to my seat and grabbing the nearest pen. With precision, I begin to jot down the planning ideas I have had for the project on a sheet of paper. Then I will make a copy and give it to Bryce. That way he will know about everything we have to do, without the need for a conversation.
Fortunately, he doesn't disturb me while I'm writing, nor does he ask questions. So I continue with the notes, and only stop when I finish them. Satisfied, I look at what I have written and get up again, walking to the nearest printer.
When I return to the desk, Bryce is staring at me. Staring. It bothers me, that familiar feeling wanting to show itself again. Desperate, I throw the extra sheet of paper on the table and grab my backpack.
“Here is the plan I made," I say. “Read it all and start your part.”
I'm turning and running away from the situation, my backpack over my shoulder, when a warm hand takes my wrist, inviting me to stop. I recognize the touch. Bryce.
“Juli, wait”. His voice sounds a bit desperate.
My mind goes silent. Everything in my body seems to paralyze. Against my will, I turn to him.
Bryce's eyes, those almond eyes that I used to love so much, display a unique concern, as if crying out for an explanation. A look that I'm sure would make everyone give in to his desires. A look that is dangerous and mean and cruel.
“Juli, please...”, Bryce speaks again, in that melodious voice that only he possesses. “Forgive me. I'm really sorry for what happened that day.”
No, you're not sorry, I think about shouting at him. You're never was.
The hurt comes back over me, and I take a deep breath; forcing myself to keep my posture in front of him.
“Let me go, Bryce”, I say with difficulty, my voice breaking. “I have to go.”
When I make mention of leaving, he moves closer, holding me tighter.
“Juli, please.”
His eyes shine so brightly that I almost believe that his regret is real. I almost believe that he is really concerned, that he is really sorry for what happened that day.
Almost.
I disengage myself from his touch.
“See you, Bryce", I muttle, turning and running away.
But this time, Bryce doesn't stop me.

500 days is not a long journey, isn't it?
I still remember something we have done on the day when you asked me out. It was a rainy day in my place, yet you told me something that makes me feel warm and cozy as if the said words could be a home for homeless people.
"Thank you for reading my mixed signals when I clearly didn't show it from the start."
I was confused at first but then I realized.. Oh, he thanked me for something I didn't know I do. He thanked me for something he clearly knows that I did that so I gave you a short answer because I truly didn't know that was your way to deliver the confession since we both have did all the lovey-dovey things on the day you asked my permission to have a date with me.
The clock keeps ticking, days and months has passed, you decided to do something more bigger than before -- things I never imagined before that you'd ask me since it's a little bit crucial for some people in here.
We were too young for that, or so I thought. My mind keeps telling me something bad but that was my midnight thoughts, I know, every piece of midnight thoughts will never be real unless I am too manifest for it.
So, I answered his question with YES. A yes for everything, for living my life under the same roof, for letting me laying his body on the same bed with me, for fulfilling my thoughts of him but still managed to meet him everyday. And now, we have reached the 500 days of our journey. It is surely not a short journey to take and I am aware of the fact that we'll always encounter the big waves but I know we always can get through of it. I believe in you, always.
Higher than the heights and deeper than the depths is my love for you, for everything we have done together and we will do in the future. Us, against the world.

Flipped es mayor que la suma de sus partes.
Con este post inauguro el blog, y qué mejor que hacerlo con el mejor libro y la mejor película de todos los tiempos (subjetivamente hablando): "Flipped". Podrían pensar que exagero, que no hay manera de que un libro originariamente pensado para niños de primaria sea el mejor de todos. Pero no, leyeron bien, es lo mejor que leí y que vi, y ahora les explico porqué.
Podríamos decir que Flipped es una historia de amor, pero nos quedaríamos cortos. A lo largo de la obra, leemos las perspectivas de ambos protagonistas: Bryce Loski y July Baker. Con tan sólo siete años, July está perdidamente enamorada de Bryce: "One look at Bryce Loski and I became a lunatic". Sin embargo, su amor no es correspondido "All I've ever wanted is for Juli Baker to leave me alone".
Comienza como una historia de amor, pero se convierte en una historia de vida, en la historia de nuestras vidas. Con el pasar de los capítulos, los vemos equivocarse, cuestionarse, desaprender, aprender y crecer.
Bryce es parte de una familia tradicional de clase media. Su hogar, en apariencia pulcro y perfecto, se deshace por dentro. Su padre es machista y prejuicioso. Su madre está resignada a la vida en un matrimonio con la persona que en algún momento fue el amor de su vida, pero que con los años, se convirtió en un extraño. July es parte de una familia poco tradicional de clase baja. Su hogar, en apariencia desaliñado y abandonado, se fortalece cada vez más con el amor de sus integrantes. Su padre, albañil, pintor y soñador, le enseña a apreciar los pequeños detalles y a reflexionar sobre la vida y las personas. Su madre ama profundamente a su familia, pero es atormentada por las expectativas de una vida que soñó tener, pero no pudo obtener (reminder de que ninguna familia es perfecta). Sus hermanos, futuros músicos que cuentan con el apoyo incondicional de sus padres. Y ella, en plena constitución de su personalidad e identidad, defensora de sus principios y valores, sin miedo a sentir, cuestionando su forma de ver el mundo y a las personas, preguntándose si el todo es mayor que la suma de sus partes o no.
Es muy fácil, como humanos que somos, prejuzgar y encasillar a Bryce al comienzo de la novela. La forma en la que es descrito hace que sea difícil creer en el cambio, en el crecimiento. También es muy fácil victimizar a July, sentir empatía hacia ella y antipatía hacia él. Es más simple caer en el discurso del bien vs el mal, el blanco vs el negro, y olvidar la existencia de los grises, que al final, son los que nos conforman como seres humanos.
Y eso es lo que me fascina de esta novela (y película), que nos lleva por el camino de lo que estamos acostumbrados, del prejuicio, de la bipolaridad como única posibilidad de existencia. Pero luego nos fuerza a replantearnos por completo nuestro sistema de valores, ayudándonos a entender finalmente que somos humanos, que no somos valores absolutos o perfectos, que estamos compuestos por matices. Abre la puerta a la posibilidad del cambio y al entendimiento, y nos ayuda a comprender que somos instantes en constante aprendizaje, ni mejores ni peores.
Y es por ello que considero que todo el mundo merece la oportunidad de leer —y mirar— esta obra de arte, tan sencilla y profunda a la vez. Porque todxs merecemos la oportunidad de mirar la vida en todos sus colores.

Loski and Digga D Surfaced With A New Dispute
Bullyrag? that's Loski right here. The rapper has not been on good terms with Digga D for a long time now. The ongoing dispute between him and Digga D aka Rhys Angelo Emile Herbert surfaced recently with him throwing shades at the latter new single.
Reasons for their feud
The British rapper posted his new track this month titled "S###" which was released on the 7th of July. His first verse included a replication of Loski's 2022 GRM Daily Duppy where he goes on to say:
"If you never went jail, you will be on a mill, but I have been in jail too, and I ran through a few.''
Sounds very similar to Loski's line:
''If I didn’t go jail in ‘019, then I woulda had a mil.''
Not all kinds of imitation can be seen as flattery, for some, it can create feud. Furthermore, Digga D has been targeting the 22-year-old rapper in his lyrics, for instance, has said:'' your mother used to visit me and I got the letters from her bro''. At this time, he tried to make it clear that this was the reason behind the dawn of their enmity. Additionally, he revealed another reason that spiked their conflict and that was the picture Loski took alongside the singer Fredo.
Loski's response to the situation
The rapper announced his new songs (which he recorded during the curfew) coming soon on social media with the caption :
"Why yu so obsessed wit me I just wanna know? ''
He no doubt was pointing to Digga D as he posted a screenshot of the latter sending him a friend request on Snapchat. Besides that, he's been passing comments such as why Digga is lying to fans about his girl. Not only that but he sent a straight message to his target by rapping: ''Rap boy from Rap boy from West love to talk too bad, Took a pic’ with Fred’ and they got upset'. That's a burning one! Moreover, the British man referred to Digga's old twerk video and commented on it saying if I twerk and rap, Harlem definitely has to de-recruit. Say no more.
To conclude, rap is not totally violent and many rappers' disagreements are born from many causes. Some conflicts are petty while some are serious but it's always somewhat present.
