I was actually thinking about this a lot but like as an add on to your humans are hylian space orcs thing. I am in ✨need✨ of reader trying potions. Like;
"This potion will restore your stamina and boost your strength"
"Buddy that's just coffee"

Even worse if when the reader tries it it's just like the most not strong coffee they've ever drank. Makes the guys wonder wtf makes humans need so much energy through out the day.

and goron spice tasted like goddamn dorito chips, so u used essence of literal lava to help make it more spicy,
ur not allowed to introduce this new spice to the gorons, Wild forbid, bc he was adventurous enough (and snuck behind Time and ur backs) to try some spice
(he literally touched the tip of his pinky finger to it, wiped it off, except for 1 like flake of spice too)
and it lowkey nearly killed him 💀
like had to use that 1/16th of ur extra strong healing potion and everything
u felt so bad, but he did do this to himself,
and Wild knew the gorons dont back down from a challenge, esp since it was originally their recipe, so he (and you) didnt wanna kill them on accident
the sleeping potion u found is just like taking a single melatonin gummy, so u ofc make that thing knock even you out after 2 sips,
needless to say, no one is trying that one, not only bc it knocked Rulie unconcious for 12 hours straight (u got him to try it after he exhausted all his magic healing, and so no nightmares)
but bc it knocked u out cold for 9. that was the scarier part to them lmao, was how affected is their human by this?
i like to think thats how they judge unknown foods and liquids too,
like "do you think this tastes unseasoned? ok should be perfect for me then" - every Link
"oh this didnt make u feel sleepy at all/barely tired? great, id love to knock out cold w/no nightmares tonight" - Sky, probably

Chain is simultaneously still lowkey terrified u need that much extra oomf, esp when u run out of stronger stuff and have to down like 5 health potions to heal a cut that needed stitches,
and also worried u need that much and also Wild/Wars/Rulie tend to work overtime to make sure they have extra potions for you
and theyre also kind of impressed, bc hey, youre unlikely to get magically poisoned/potion poisoned like them

your shading is AMAZING specially when its conveying organic forms..... do you have any tips for people who dont know wrf going on (with shading)
ok so HI. hi. my old tutorial pisses me off so i will make a new one
i made a guy whose sole purpose is to be shaded so dont worry he likes it. and his name. his name will be mr. Boob. mr boob does not have to be blue
theres probably way better explanations of how to do it but unfortunately trying to "emulate" shading does ask you to somewhat understand ur character in a 3d way. like what would the 2d shape be if you "sliced" it? mr boob is made of so many circles. his tail also does a kind of weird perspective foreshortening thing because its pointing at you. is this being conveyed
you obviuously dont have to draw a horrendous grid on your characters skin to do this . BUT it helps you put down (or at least envision) the lines of the form shading :
dont worry about cast shadows or the shading color because this is FORM SHADOW time only. think about what surfaces of the character are obviously facing away from the light source and put down the "separation line" of the shading based on that. thr most important thing is that youre trying to separate light from dark
im going to pick the first one for cast shadows bc it will be the most obvious to me
ok so. his ears and snout are blocking other surfaces of his body from the light, which means a shadow is cast!!!! bam. i saw someone describe cast shadows as what the light's pov "can't see." his entire body is putting down a cast shadow on the ground too
im impatient so i blended the form shadows now. its usually the easiest to just NOT blend cast shadows as a way of conveying that they are still cast shadows. but you can still blend them if you want to show "distance" between the obstruction and the surface its blocking. but its just a way of saying form and cast shadows should not be treated the same even if their softness coincides
im going to lump reflection and ambient light together because theyre like. similar. reflections dont just happen in mirrors
since the sky is blue, making the ambient lighting, i tinged mr. boobs existing shadow to be a bit blue. (*this is kind of important because it can help you decide a shading color, which should USUALLY be based on the environment) (unless your character is just in the transparent void then it doesnt matter)
since the ground is pink, i made pink light bounce off of him. pointed and labelled. i dont rlly know how to go more in depth than that
contact shadows are literally shadows formed from direct-touching contact. very little light can reach in there, even from how reflections disperse, which means youre free to use the darkest color available (black). in this case mr. boob is making contact with the floor. because he is sitting on the floor.
i touched him up a bit and wow!!!!!!!!!! look at mr. boob!!! he is so beautifully sculpted.
and one more thing
thats right. i made mr boob PINK. hes fucking ruined now. just kidding i would never say that to him
what im trying to convey here (its the easiest with really light colors) is a transitional color. this can also show subsurface scattering depending on how you use it which is fun to look at. the mistake i made on my last tutorial was "Just pick a warm saturated color!" which is really wrong in examples like Blue mr boob. because it would be weird to use a warm color to transition from blue to blue.
if you have a character that isn't bright enough then obviously the shadows wont be as visible. its BEST to bring more attention to highlights and reflections to reveal the form a bit. they play the biggest role with darker colors
thats all i can think of. fun things to look up:
structuralization + contour lines + foreshortening etc. 3d lingo
form shadows
cast shadows
ambient light
contact shadows
subsurface scattering
im also just speaking out of my ass otherwise. i didnt look up any of these terms until the end now im inferring and hoping i got them right
and remember every time you shade mr boob will be rooting for you

i am so sorry you caught me in the middle of vc. some of these. also i accidentally closed the fucking tab and had to rewrite all of this. i hate being a writer on tumblr.
some of these are by my friends. some of them r by me. some are funny. some are serious. Some are all and or both
i just realized these are only general steven headcanons i am so fucking sorry i was tired and it was like 4-6 am. take them anyways i'll edit like a few actual x reader ones in

he doesn't get outwardly super scared, but he DOES shiver or make discontented noises when he's scared. playing horror games with him is kinda funny. if you make him play a vr horror game he will hate you forever and ever. it's rly funny tho.
he tries way too hard. with everything. pre-incident? being a role model, being cool, being a trainer, being a champion for like one month, being stereotypically romantic, etc. post-incident? being scary, being intimidating, etc.
despite this he is still very dorky and awkward. at least pre-incident. it was common. type of guy to lean on a wall but he falls
he wears light cologne. i'd say he wears axe 3-in-1 but that'd be way too rude to both me and other stevenlikers.
pre-incident he trips over his words sometimes, sometimes his tones too flat, sometimes he speaks too loudly or quietly, etc etc. Basically. 'tism.
he's good at clue, the board game.
pronounces gif like "g.i.f" ( like it's an acronym ). please, god, make fun of him for this.
his hands are always cold for no fucking reason post-incident. if you hold his hands in the summer it kind of helps the heat go away. love wins
really wanted a guitar. he's a dork so he does air guitar sometimes when no ones looking or does guitar motions while holding a long thing that isn't a guitar. He would play guitar hero and be absolutely mid at it but blue and red think he's the coolest fucking thing ever for it. This is inspired by somebody elses hc i think(????). if u read this. ur a real one and r so true.
because of this if you actually got him a guitar i think he'd make a small genuine smile. he has executive dysfunction and depression so itd probably take a while for him to actually do anything with it, but he rlly appreciates the gesture.
also kinda has a good singing voice but is better at backing vocals.
he organizes things a bit too much, which stopped during his spiral phase, but for example his pc boxes are like. a living dex, or just by pokedex number. he prob never completed his dex tho. mike though who did/almost did, has Entirely unorganized boxes. after the incident he obviously stopped caring bc depression so like. yeah. so his rooms a little unorganized and his house in general. he will silently appreciate it if you organize it for him.
never allowed miki to have eggs bc 1; gen 1 limitations. idk how that'd work in universe but that'd probably be why it didnt happen in the pokepastas. 2; as you can tell. he's kinda overprotective of miki. also charizards aren't like. very regular pokemon you find and he wouldn't want to breed her with a ditto. and would only want to allow her to if she actually found a for-life mate.
and for the x reader-ification of this in the edit bc i misread the ask, he'd also do it if ur dating him and u have a pokemon. for example, whatever starter you have and miki would b cute. straight couple.. yuri couple.. yaoi couple... love is love and miki doesnt care. its cute and they act all cuddly and snuggly with eachother probably. kinda reminds you of u an steven too
speaking of miki is larger than normal charizards and probably is built a little different literally and figuratively. stevens tall. miki is taller though. at the very least post incident Corpse Miki is. how unique she was did not help stevens rage ( getting a new one would not be nearly the same especially due to that + he would never. ) but it was a smaller factor in everything. also i do not think that thang can lay eggs post-incident. sorry if u wanted a fucked up missingno charmander.
even if the trade incident happened but miki came out alive he'd still go on a depression spiral. he probably wouldn't kill mike in the end, but he'd be much quieter, and would be even more paranoid. would probably willingly move away from mike or separate their rooms at the least. if u were dating him during this time you could probably at least still recover him from this state since its less serious but the tension would be palpable for a while.
mike is your number 1 wingman for steven swooning. he's kind of bad at being a wingman. or he's good at it. whichevers funnier in your opinion tbh. but he knows what steven likes ( at least he hopes he does ) so he gives you tips and tricks for wooing him. or he gives steven tips and tricks on wooing you because he knows both of you n hangs out with both enough to know.
this is a headcanon with basically no basis but theres a part of me that kind of likes steven and mike being born in johto or somethin'. which is why he goes to johto in doors open after the incident. he's running away from his past + kanto + it's his home region. At least for a while. so he sometimes likes to travel around with miki and you there, or to other places.
he double-checks a lot of things way too much. like if things are locked, if things are properly in place, and if wires are properly connected and not fucked up or tangled or broken ( iykyk ). if you check for him and reassure him everythings fine he'll calm down slightly, but his paranoia goes "okay but what if they didnt check enough."
if you told s!3v3n he was being a bad boy like a fucking dog when he does smth you dont like he probably would actually look like a dejected puppy for a moment and sit in a corner ( /j. maybe. )
s!3v3n's got big fuckin shadowy hands. and claws. good for backscratching or massages oddly enough, if asked for....????
steven will try to impress you by playing a videogame and doing something cool. he probably fails or almost fails at it. but its kind of endearing and cute anyways.
he's left-handed ( definitely not projecting ). for symmetry, mike is right-handed. also miki is ambidextrous. How can a Charizard be ambidextrous you ask? You know. For fun. Daisy is also ambidextrous though which is the more normal option.
i mean... steven is probably also ambidextrous with anything other than writing/drawing ( PROJECTING HARDER ).
ultimately kind of silly ( He has murdered three )

yes absolutely thank you so much for asking!!! truly I was never actually expecting someone to ask me abt that so I apologize for the late response; I had to organize my thoughts in a way that would actually make sense to other people lol. and I don’t know a ton of killjoy lore anyway so this may or may not make sense but!! oh well!!
soooo this is my killjoysona :DD I have yet to actually draw and color her properly but she’s basically me with cooler hair (she dyes it any time she can find new colors), better style, a dirt bike, and a ray gun. and a cooler boyfriend. her name’s Carbon Cavity. like I said she’s me but awesomer <3
here’s a sketch I did just for you + a picrew I made a while back (that’s as close as I could get w it lol but I really need to properly draw her soon,, aah)
anyways,, so the self ship part comes in when she’s dirt biking around and comes upon an old abandoned department store or something and is like, oh hey. I’ll just pop in there and raid some shit real quick. little did she know the Fab Four got there first and already figured out the building was all locked up so ghoul rigged up a bomb to blow the doors open and uh. had already taken cover for it to go off and it went off when she was like 50ft from the door 😀 so the four came back out and lo! a body on the ground! so they’re freaking the fuck out and she gets back up like wtf just happened?? and the four are like OH GOD ARE YOU OKAY and ofc she can’t hear a thing but her ears ringing bc a fucking bomb went off in her face basically so she ends up hanging around w them in the store til her ears stop ringing quite so much.
so she’s deaf in one ear from that lmao.
but anyhow she ends up following the four back to the diner cuz she’s just been going around crashing wherever anyway, might as well right? 🤷♀️ but turns out she’s cool and they’re cool and they all like each other so much she ended up never leaving hehe,, aaaand she liked fun ghoul the best <33 even tho she still brings up him blowing up a bomb practically in her face <333 (“I DIDNT FUCKING KNOW YOU WERE THERE!!”)
like she flirts by being mean (affectionately ofc) so originally she would just keep bringing up the bomb incident to ghoul to make fun of him kinda,, like she’d volunteer for first watch one night and he’s like no carbon you had it last night, I’ll take it this time it’s fine. and she’s all like “mmmm sorry bub I can’t hear ya that well… had this close encounter with some guy’s bomb going off, see? so I’m deaf in one ear now” and he’s just like 😑 … fuck you carbon. and she just giggles but she lets him take the watch anyway. but yeah so they mess with each other a lot and somewhere along the way they started doing it more for each other’s attention and less to be funny. AND on top of that she’s really affectionate (hugs the guys regularly, has sat in jet’s lap once in the trans am and in kobra’s once on a dare, and has fallen asleep on each of the four at least once), AND has to lean really close to them to hear them better sometimes bc yk. hearing problems. and they’re both kinda stupid so party, jet, and kobra literally figured out the other two liked each other soooooo long before the two even realized it lol.
anyways it all comes to fruition one night when they’re changing watches, carbon taking over from ghoul BUT ITS LIKE RLLY AWKWARD YK BC THEY’VE BOTH FIGURED OUT THEIR FEELINGS BY NOW BUT HAVENT FIGURED OUT THE OTHER PERSON’S,, LFHSKDJFJSK— so carbon heads out to wherever ghoul’s stationed and it’s like. she says hi and he says hey, and she kind of just expected him to hug her goodnight and go after that but he doesn’t so she sits with him in silence for a good while, sorta just waiting for him to go in to bed and also just trying to enjoy this rare alone time w him without overthinking it too much. eventually he scoots a little closer to her and puts his arm around her. she lays her head on his shoulder. still neither of them say anything for another ten minutes or so.
until finally she says, “ghoul?” it comes out quieter than she expected it to.
“hm.”
“you should go in and get some sleep, I’ll be fine out here.”
“mm, yeah… I guess you’re right.” and he nods a little but doesn’t take his arm away; she hasn’t lifted her head from his shoulder either.
another minute of silence. “you cold?”
she looks up at him. “sorry?”
he leans closer and repeats the question. she shakes her head ever so slightly and tries to ignore the way her heart skipped when he leaned down. “oh. no, I’m fine.” they haven’t broken eye contact since he first asked.
“you sure?” he says it quietly on purpose this time. when she inevitably inclined her head to have him say again, he leans in and kisses her cheek instead. (!!!!)
she pulls back slightly to look at him for barely a second, then leans in and kisses him proper !! aaaaaa -
eventually ghoul does go in and sleep :’) but not before a few more kisses and a very sweet confession discussion <3
and in the morning when they all get up, carbon hugs party, kobra, and jet good morning and she gets to ghoul and he kisses her instead <33 to which party goes FUCKING FINALLY YOU GUYS.. and kobra and jet exchange bets across the table,, alrjwkdjd

some thoughts about artem, the value of work and duty, and emotional neglect

slight spoilers for details revealed in main story 6.1 and several artem card stories. obligatory disclaimer that these r just my own thoughts and interpretations
i really found bryan wing super interesting because of his SUPER OP POSITION, ON THE FRIGGING SUPREME COURT (thats the whole country, THE WHOLE!!!) but also the fact that this is Literally the first time we have ever head of him across the entire main plot and, if im not mistaken, all card stories.
like, artem's mom is mentioned here and there (in SSR Por Una Cabeza, mentioned as well in another card i cant rmr where mc says artem's mom was her thesis adviser) but artem's dad? nothing. nada. zilch. it's cuz of this, i had the impression and hc that bryan wing was just Not Really Present in artem's life, and when i read his big data lab entry this one bit explains why p well
Ever since he became part of the Supreme Court, Bryan spends most of his time at the capital, returning to Stellis only in the spring.

only coming home in the spring and most probably busy as hell even when he did come home, i suspect he didnt have much time to spend with artem. while kimberly stayed in stellis and was supposedly more present, she was also probs similarly busy. shes got a doctorate by 2030 and if im going backwards, that means she was either doing masters degree or her doctorate degree during artem's childhood. at some point, she also became ASSISTANT DEAN of the law dept at stellis uni like, maam, girlboss moves tbh. but also, again, TIME. ive got a renowned practitioner doctorate haver mother myself, and when she was working on her degree back when i was a kid, she was.....not there very much. achievements take time, and they also take some time away from family. nothing wrong with that of course, but the absence causes consequences, no matter how the parent didnt mean for it to happen.
the most present adult during artem's pre-adult (and adult) era was neil hume. how artem talks about neil and that one flashback scene we get with neil actually there rlly brought it home that these two were close, they mean a LOT to each other, and rlly imparts the impression that neil was something of father figure to artem as well. but neil wasnt perfect either. neil had to bail on artem as well for work (key detail mentioned in SSR Loving Memories) and given that neil is also renowned as hell (professor, doctoral advisor) and is noted in big data lab entry to "[travel] extensively alone for his commitments to serving the public" and also "had a history of going dark to infiltrate crime organizations" hes damn busy with work as well.
and all this sounds lonely as hell for artem. all the important adults in his development years were either largely absent or still had to go off elsewhere, all due to their respective work. this kind of stuff, i think, causes a bunch things
here are the ones clear in canon
artem seeing work, productivity, and duty as huge virtues. the important adults in his life regarded it very highly, so it's logical that he values these virtues as well.
artem then pursuing these own traits diligently in his later life because it now matters to him a lot. workaholic extraordinaire who keeps going and struggles to not think of work matters or unable to relax when hes supposed to be relaxing, sometimes to the point of frigging INSOMNIA (main conflict in SSR Dreamful Melodies, this card stressed me out so much cuz //shakes artem by the shoulders, PLS SLEEP)
here are the ones where im speculating and/or making hcs
artem pursuing those values for a secondary reason too: the rewards of work become the closest thing to emotional validation hes comfortable accepting. people are busy, people cant always make time, people cant always be paying attention to him and he understands that but emotional validation is a human need and since work has become a value, its payoff is not only more feasibly acquirable, in his eyes, but also close enough to what he wants, he thinks (spoiler: it's not! it's a completely different thing!!! AAAAA)
and lastly, artem thinking it's okay to not pay attention to him as a person. there are more important things in this world. his feelings, in the grand scheme of things, takes its place several notches under the bigger things in this world
pre-entrance-of-MC-into-his-life, it's pretty sad. what artem essentially ends up doing to himself the same thing the adults in his life did to him; focusing on duty to the point that he himself neglects his wants.
this manifests his emotional repression and hesitation (how can he be honest and forward about how he feels when time and time again, those feelings didnt get proper attention?) and vaguely low self esteem (how can he feel sure about himself as a person and the value of his inherent personality without emotional validation strengthening a good view of who he is?).
this kinda reminds me of this one post i saw once that went along the lines of "in my mind, theres a little girl yelling "UNLOVED!! UNLOVED!!!!!"" and that image feels fitting for artem too with some tweaks. in his mind, theres a younger version of himself but that kid isnt yelling. hes just sitting in his room quietly and nobody outside opens the door, not even artem himself. and artem leaves him alone.
and all of that hammers it home how important mc's presence in his life is. whether it progresses into a romantic relationship or continues as a platonic one, mc eventually sees artem under the work, duty, productivity.
she goes over to stand outside of the door of that room in artem's mind nobody enters
and she knocks, asking if it's okay for her come in.

ok character ranking for Y:the last man worst to best
Fucking roxanne: Stupid svu homicide detective wanna be cult leading psycho stalking gaslight gatekeep girlboss ass bitch got what she deserved. Finally.
Idk that bitch that was supposed to be president but fell out of a plane: A lot of what made her unlikeable was her politics she was the walking conspiracy redneck dont let them steal our jobs ass bitch however what really makes her unlikeable is her hubris. even during an organized coup where they are actively asking and threatening to kill the president she wouldn't just sit there and shut up. like she had to follow around and beg for the very soldiers that were trying to dismantle the government to take her seriously and then she died like damn
Presidents wife: I dont even remember her name shes just not very relevant to me. Her story was heartbreaking and sad to watch though so i cant say im completely apathetic to her
presidents daughter: her storyline is one of the more interesting ones to watch true but shes not ver likeable obviously. Shes too man obsessed to really be of any use to anyone but she lost her entire family over the span of the show so i cant really blame her for losing her shit
Byorik’s Girlfriend: That stupid bitch was an anarchist or something idk. then look where that got her. i cant really believe she loved byorick when the first thing she said when she rejected his proposal was how she wanted to see other people
Hero: One hand i feel bad for her one hand I dont. Like she was an asshole I cant lie and say she wasn’t. She was forking a married guy she was like an addict she didnt have a lot going for her and her mom was a total buzzkill most of her life. The way she treated sam was pretty shitty though. I want to be more sympathetic to her falling into the cult of the amazons but I can’t because she had so many chances to not be a fuck up and she was still out there, fucking up.
sam: I dont wanna say sam so soon but I’m gonna say sam. he was defenseless and passive the entire season and while he’s supposed to be one of the more sympathetic characters,, and he had to deal with hero most of the time so i do feel bad for him,, he’s also very self pitying. part of this take is my own biases sure I’ll admit when the first thing sam says after the mandemic™(made it myself haha) was how he didnt have enough testosterone I was like,,, people are dying kim. how the show tackled the isolation and treatment of trans men however was compelling. as for sam the character he himself he was too codependent for most of the season for me to root for him. Following hero around begging hero to stay feeling bad for himself most of the time as if he was the only one with problems. that and he did my girl nora dirty ngl. Like i totally get why he wouldn't trust nora or wanna go off with her to escape the amazonian cult but also, come on man.
Jennifer Brown: she was struggling throughout the entire season I can’t help but feel bad for her. Did she lie? Yes. Did she lie again? yes. Did she lie more? yes. she lied her ass off with her back against the wall because she was trying to keep the country from collapsing.
Nora: the bitch was angry omg I totally support and respect the deterioration of her sanity tbh. I feel like I’m biased towards her because weren’t a lot of us pushovers in our lives. Whether its quiet, or being victimized, or simply doing all of the work to clean up other peoples messes. Then when push comes to shove when the world literally fucking ends even though you did everything right, gt the job the degree the money the family it all goes to shit again, and you’re left to start over,,, again. She wasn’t just angry she was strategic. she always had the brain she just had to use it. when she burned down that shopping center it was one of my favorite scenes.
Agent 355: Did she have to kill those pilots tho. like really? okokok that aside she is rlly carrying the show with dr.mann and byorick. Her whole blackwidow redroom traumas rlly need to be addressed. and her story arc of vehemently denying help at the risk of her health was soooo hard to watch. Like u dum dum byorick just wanted you to get some sleep?! and now look at u!! u crashed into a tree. the way she and byorick were ON EACHOTHERS NECKS In the first half of the season though. ol girl was exhausted. however iliked her ever since she told byorick “your father named you after a dead clown”
Byorick: [lmao my fingers r cramping lemme finish this later... ] ok im back while byorick is flawed like every damn character hes not as inherently shitty. i hate to be all uwu soft white boi with long curly hair and sad eyes can do no wrong and all but really the worst thing about him is his terrible jokes and tendency to run off. other than that hes completely down for helping people and taking action to make sure he’s not (any more of ) a burden to the people around him *cough* sam *cough again*. see sam can learn a few things from byorick. im glad he also takes initiative to learn to protect his own damn self at the end.
Dr.Mann: honestly a baddie, she rlly doesnt need an explanation but I will try. from jump when shes introduced shes quirky shes colorful shes competent shes intellectual and for all intents and purposes,,, she IS the moment. shes thinking of the endgame through and through. the whole entire ecosystems genetic diversity animals men women intersex trans her mind is so powerful i cant not stan? she too has flaws dont get me wrong shes individualistic and sarcastic and somewhat snobby in a “i dont know how you quantify genius” kind of way but, we must stan anyways like come on now

chicory is a good game and you should play it (MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD)
this is just going to be a semi organized ramble/analysis of the game . cleaned up but mostly copy pasted from the discord convo @leftistaco and i had last night :P
core themes of the ending
I will never never never NEVER get over chicory saying "when I said you could have the brush, you were already holding it." like. thats why the game ends if you don't pick up the brush at the start. in the brushflower field, chicory saying They must have been a VERY creative person and after the whole game of pizza saying they're NOT a wielder they ONLY got it cuz they were there they're JUST A JANITOR and THEY'RE the one who made a new brush. they were the most capable. they were already holding it. like. aurgh . art is meant for everyone even if you don't think it is . like its a thing that everyone can share . you could be dropped into a room with a complete stranger and a pad of paper and pencils and you could still draw together . art is so personal and yet it's everyones but everyone's is different and part of a whole . ripping and tearing my books to shreds with my bare teeth and crying and rolling around everywhere. ART IS EVERYONES THERE IS NO LEGACY YOU MUST FOLLOW THERE IS NO BURDEN YOU MUST BARE. IT IS ART THAT IS THE MOST HUMAN THING OF ALL.
not to say it again but "you were already holding it". I dont think any line ever has affected me more. God. all of them kind of want it. every godamn person you talk to kinda wants to try it out. you give it to pickle. they all say it. God. ohhhhh were all so human were so fucking human it is killing me. you would take it. I would take it. everyone would take the brush. we all want to color in our world don't we.
the final battle
first off, the repeated bringing back of the up on the mountaintop's motif was SO good. the way chicory fights is so awesome too. all her flourishes. and th e way you can feel all thr wielders even if techincally they arent there. I remeber someone saying that the wielder before cardamom was abstract. you know that Shapes attack it does ? they're really there.
AND THE . FIGHTING THE INSTITUTION ITSELF THROUGH THE BRUSH WITH THEIR OWN BRUSHES THEY MADE . THE CYMBAL ISM................. the fact that. the connection with the brush manifests your darkest feelings physical and its SEEN in the boss fights like like like like. chicory sees herself as imperfect and not worth it so she manifests as a hideous shriveled rabbit head . blackberry feels remorse for the way she's lived and mentored and feels like a monster so she MANIFESTS AS A MONSTER . PIZZA FIGHTS A LITERAL MANIFESTATION OF THEMSELF WHO IS COMPLETELY LOST AND ANCHORED TO THE BRUSH LIKE ITS A LIFELINE. AURGH. the fact that the first boss fight is disembodied eyes . because pizza feels like theyre being watched in the first time in their life after being a "nobody" and it's scary!!!! its fucking terrifying feeling like you're being scrutinized for everything you do by everyone and its not just pizza!!!! chicory feels like it too!!! i bet every fuckin wielder was freaked about those eyes because its scary and it's a burden to be that hypervisible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as someone who kinda looked rlly similar to chicory when Twas Bad like...her being Like that is so accurate it hurts. when you're that deep you want to dig your fucking claws in and drag it down with you. the depiction of both chicory and pizzas struggles with mental health and self worth are so. God it fucking HURT like ive BEEN THERE iv e had days where i didnt even want to feed myself. it feels very, very heavy, and very, very real.
The FUCKING Brush Wars
im also thinking about like. the fact that there were canonically brush wars. the power to make color being institutionalized made people so mad for power that there were wars . like . people died for the brush just because there was only one and the importance placed upon it ended up being false because you literally can just grow one with the right mindset!!!!! like. the importance on tradition is such a fucking burden that its prevented people from making color basically opens source for years and years. so many people were hurt by it, physically & mentally and GOD!!! game makes me feel emotions

TGKDN Ch 20.5-22 Thoughts & Spoilers
I didn’t want to spam post so I’m going to shorten these 3 chapters (20.5 is literally almost the same length as a regular chapter sooo)
context: TGKDN is a jjkxoc (additional add-ons: dad!gojoxoc, yutaxoc, megumixoc) fic called Tsuki Ga Kirei Desu Ne. It’s linked in my bio in case anyone wants to read it. I don’t own TGKDN or take credit for the story/OCs! I’m just a fan!

- Imma be organized for once and split them into chapters cuz there’s so much to uncover for each of the three chapters (all the ppl who have been following since my old acc gasping cuz Cali’s gonna be organized for once lmaooo) anyways.....
Chapter 20.5
- HIYORI POV LETS GOOO
-why is it that Hiyori POVs are the rarest when she’s literally the main character of this story ????
- the jars symbolism was just *chef’s kiss*
- honestly highlights one of the main differences between old TGKDN and rewrite TGKDN cuz there’s more in-depth talk about Hiyori’s struggles now to better paint that image of how she’s perfect at the surface
-p sure this is the gojo and hiyori parallel cuz they’re both strong and “perfect” in almost every way but they’re actually not
- whole chapter made me tear up a lil ngl like it hit where it hurt cuz it was relatable like the struggle of being responsible and doing what u believe is ur duty (my tsukuyo hiyori analysis rlly on point thooo wooooooo)
-author frames a lot of stuff in a pretty tasteful manner like the darker/heavier chapters involving mental struggle (i.e Jars + Under the Surface chapters) which honestly props to her cuz i could never
- the only problem is that she does it too well and it rlly hits (my eyes be swollen too much cuz of this story) where it hurts every time
-yuta coming in to help my our precious bean (im writing a hiyorixreader fic for my own satisfaction afanfiosa) just at the right moment
-when he ate the salad aodinasioda she was so surprised
- i had to google wtf a mousse cake was cuz im uncultured lol
- him opening the jar without saying anything and having no clue how his literal presence just makes her feel better
- she literally says he’s amazing which mirrors what he said about her in one of the earlier chapters (i forgot which one ooops) DONT THINK I DIDNT CATCH THAT AUTHOR
-mans out here thinking its one-sided but she’s just as down bad as he is
-they’re so cute together

- ok tsuki is still mega sus but im starting to wonder if her disappearances for long periods of time in the story are just hiyori getting her to investigate stuff

- ik gojo in the actual manga/anime pays mei mei 10 million at one point to help him with something so maybe it’s another parallel but i don’t think so at the same time
- what’s hiyori planning?? like why tell mei mei of all ppl to do it and not someone like nanami or something??
- moving on, what did Tsuki mean by “nothing on Hokkaido”?
- maybe the mei mei thing + whatever is going on in Hokkaido is connected??
- we know hiyori is from hokkaido since that was where gojo found her soooo i feel like maybe she’s doing some investigation on what happened to her sister?
-back when her profile was up (pre-rewrite) it said that her main cause of stress was her missing sister so ig it makes sense
-im interested on how this subplot goes cuz even in the regular jjk anime/manga there’s a lot up with hokkaido like it just happened to be left out of Kenjaku’s culling games too
- i keep forgetting hiyori is rlly intuitive like ms. ma’am figured out something was up and got the investigation done
- ok ok so yall know how tsuki says “if this gets out, you know what they’ll try to do since they’ve been trying to make you a more official part of the family for years now” after hiyori finds out that yuta is related to gojo?
- i think it’s implying a forced marriage cuz we know that even tho hiyori is ADOPTED she’s still gojo’s heir AND we know that there’s a lot of attention and stuff placed on blood relations for the three big clans (like zenin, kamo, and gojo) cuz they’re old-fashioned like that (p sure there’s probably old-fashioned ppl in the gojo clan but not as bad as zenin and kamo cuz gojo satoru is the head of the clan)
- if yuta and hiyori were to get married then she would be marrying someone of technical gojo blood cuz yuta is related to gojo thru a common ancestor even tho its distant WHICH would probably strengthen her claim as the next head of the gojo clan after satoru since that would make her an actual part of the gojo clan
- that’s definitely gonna be brought up again i can feel it in my bones
- i think this is where u can see that hiyori, even tho she cares about doing what is most beneficial for the world and stuff along with how she mentioned she was down for an arranged marriage (not to yuta but in general) if that was most beneficiary, cares more about her loved ones cuz she’s not willing to subject yuta to an arranged marriage at all
- so ig i was wrong before and she places her loved ones and their happiness first over the world basically (aot eren yeager flashbacks oop)
-hiyori valuing yuta and rika’s relationship speaks volumes about her character because even tho yea it was probably superficial and like one of those kindergarten playground marriages type beat...it was still love
- this is one of the reasons why i like hiyori’s character so much cuz never once does she even attempt to stand between rika and yuta’s relationship even tho she obviously has feelings for yuta
- she knows how important rika is to yuta and vice versa so she’s willing to give up and leave her feelings for yuta unrecipocated if that’s what makes both of them happy
- like this along with 20.5 emphasize how hiyori truly sees rika as a FRIEND even tho rika’s a murderous cursed spirit
- maki is headstrong and obviously cares alot about hiyori so im glad that maki was the one who gave yuta the push he needed
Chapter 22
- rika is so adorable going for the hello kitty plush aghhh
- it’s nice that yuta went to tell rika first that he liked hiyori and even went thru the whole process of apologizing and stuff
- it emphasizes how yuta does love rika but he’s moving on now which most yutaxreader and yutaxoc writers don’t do like they undermine rika and yuta’s relationship in favor of the yutaxoc or yutaxreader relationship
- the author of tgkdn never once does this and emphasizes how yuta, even tho hes in love with hiyori, did love rika and still does and she’ll always have a place in his heart no matter what
- its made clear that rika will always be his childhood love and he will always love her but he also loves hiyori and he’s moving on from his past which is probably one of my favorite aspects about this book
- yuta doesn’t suddenly stop loving rika or decide he’s not gonna love her anymore. he still loves rika and he always will but he loves hiyori too and sure that love is probably greater than his love for rika cuz when ur younger u exaggerate a lot but rika will always remain as a part of his past/heart and that’s what matters
- he chooses hiyori but its made clear that he will always care and love rika
- props to the author for doing that cuz that takes a lot of courage especially when ur own OC is involved (ik hiyori isn’t a self-insert oc but it still requires a lot of courage to pull something like this) to deal with a situation like this
- back to hiyori, she never oversteps the boundary between her and yuta. she’s made it clear that she won’t pursue her feelings for yuta out of the respect she has for yuta, rika, and their relationships
- that’s what makes her so likeable as an oc cuz she never does something extremely stupid that can hurt other ppl just cuz she’s in love
- her relationship with rika is one of my favorites cuz hiyori doesnt see rika as a cursed spirit but as who rika is as a person even tho hiyori has NEVER met human rika
- yuta finding out that hiyori has been visiting rika’s grave broke my heart cuz that’s probably the moment he realized just how much of a kind soul hiyori is to go above and beyond for other people
- like the moment he made the connection between the hello kitty stuffed animal and the hello kitty bracelet rika had was just perfect
- the flashbacks of what maki told him combined with him talking to rika is just a work of art in my opinion
- i think this was probably one of the main points of yuta moving on and getting the closure he needs now all that’s left is rika to be freed then he finally has the closure he needs
- her waiting out in the cold for him was so wholesome
- when hiyori wrapped the scarf around yuta my heartttt ahhhh
- red scarves are the epitome of romance (look at eren and mikasa)
- him helping her with her coat while she takes his scarf off without either of them saying anything like its the most natural thing in the world 😌
- making sure he gets his favorite food in the bento cuz she knows he’s probably gonna be hungry
- him eating the sour plum thing for her and her moving the bento so his favorite food is in front of him is just so mfing cute
- maki and the others thinking hiyori is crazy for specifically requesting cabbage salad in her dinner even tho hiyori doesnt even like cabbage salad
- she doesnt even like cabbage salad and yet she asks for it just cuz she knows yuta likes it (the amount of serotonin i get from these two is just ✨)
Summary
- i think that hiyori and yuta are both stuck in the past to varying degrees
- it’s p obvious especially from “It May Be the Last” and “Under the Surface” that
- the difference between yuta and hiyori is that they handle what happened to them in different ways like yuta ended up isolating himself and becoming depressed while hiyori continues on with her life and tries to do better
- she strives to do better, to get stronger, so it won’t happen again and bottles up her emotions so they dont get in the way of that while yuta doesn’t bottle his emotions up
- its obvious that she’s improving and doing it less thanks to yuta, maki, and the others as seen mainly in “Rika’s Love” and “Jars”
- i hope they can learn from each other and move on from their traumatic pasts together
- they both have a lot to unpack until they’re finally free of the past but they’re helping each other with it even if they themselves don’t know it
- the fact that they’re both unintentionally/unknowingly helping each other thru tough times and dealing with their pasts is what makes their relationship so likeable
- ik i talk about liking hiyori a lot and that’s just because she’s a likeable OC. she’s not the type that needs saving from anyone and she’s independent
-she’s strong and knows she is
- i just like strong female characters
- she’s not dumb like a lot of other OCs/reader-inserts (i get that having a dumb oc/reader-insert is supposed to make them relatable but it just gets rlly annoying sometimes cuz it’s just one bad decision after another)
- it’s not like she’s perfect either tho
- it’s shown that she still has moments where she fails (and boy does she fail like she literally almost died cuz of it) and she’s flawed but her flaws enhance her character rather than make her hateable.
- another big reason is that hiyori is nice and basically a ray of sunshine unlike most OCs/reader-inserts who act cool/cold (tsunderes and kuuderes).
- she doesn’t try to act cold towards other ppl or try to push them away like what most OCs/reader-inserts do either
- she’s not toxic
- there’s no her trying to deny her feelings for yuta or anything.
- she just accepts it.
- she doesn’t cry in front of everyone but she DOES cry in front of those closes to her. she has breakdowns and she cries which makes her human.
- sorry now im just going on a tangent but yea i rlly like hiyori’s character and props to the author for doing out-of-the-box wild stuff

going on a tolerance break, feel free to read more or ignore as you wish, but as always do not. r.b.
so im gonna give up a few of my vices for a good while. ive been at a place w some of my habits where im not rlly getting the result im wanting from them and its kinda just dragging me down. like if im gonna be feeling dissatisfied and irritable with it i can very well just deal with feeling dissatisfied and irritable without it. ive been watching a lot of stuff lately about general drug use, even stuff that i have not and will never knowingly mess with, and w all this info on what separates good experiences from bad ones really comes a lot down to the chemical reactions to the stimulus and mindset. like basically any behavior has the potential to become addictive if it causes a particularly strong reaction with the dopamine receptors. and the whole developing tolerance thing sucks. and itll happen whether its a substance or a behavior (though strong chemical addiction moves beyond problematic to genuinely dangerous in terms of withdrawal - thankfully not for anything ive got issues with - so itll suck but i dont have to worry that doing a tolerance break will like. kill me or fuck up my organs. honestly my lungs will be a lot happier if i also pause on the cbd bud as well, depending on how i tackle this. i have a tincture but i know it also contains a small amount of thc. its only like 1.3mg/serving and generally im only taking that or 1.5 servings which would still be like 2mg/serving but part of me still feels like id need to cut the thc out more than that idk. ik the cbd flower has a very negligible amount of thc so if im just missing the habit i think id do alright w switching over to cbd flower since that was actually going rlly well for me for a while (not in a trying to quit way, just in a mental health management way) so for a while there i was getting real strong into the cbd aspect, then i did some blends w some more thc heavy strains, had a few notable experiences and now im here. it sucks bc i KNOW that if i were literally just living on my own i wouldnt be having the problems im having with this stuff. like so much of the drive w my maladaptive behaviors (which im absolutely not saying these things Definitively Are, All The Time bc they really arent, but rn im not doing them bc i enjoy them, im doing them bc 1 im chasing the dragon and 2 its a way to get away from my family bc the way ive been living has been driving me out of my mind. truly the only reason i didnt lose it sooner was bc there was a long stretch of time (aside from the points where my sleep schedule was super fucked up, largely in part due to trying to figure out what way i could behave in my situation to make myself feel safe + i was out of the house for most of the day p much every day for months and months, which obviously helped. honestly if the weather werent what it has been right now id honestly be fine being outside just reading but its been wet and cold and now its getting super dark too so its a lot harder for me to find affordable ways to be somewhere that doesnt make me go fucking insane. and at least if im smoking weed it feels like i have a reason to be out in those conditions and it does make me feel better about them to a certain degree (aka barely enough lol) like literally if i just had my own tiny shack (properly weatherproof) in the middle of [redacted local nature area, and if u know me irl no it isnt the one youd be guessing]. enough for a bed Only or chair Only id be better off than i am right now. and i would absolutely be able to maintain healthier habits. i finally applied for housing but i havent got any notice of being pre-approved yet so i guess i still have to wait on that. i really hope i get to the top of that list sooner rather than later cuz i really am losing my fuckign mind. if youve read this far tell me about ur day or something cool uve been wanting to share but feels too weird/random to bring up normally idk lol. ily <3

yeah all that trauma and kidnapping stuff was something i really wanted to explore in this story. not only to make it more meaningful but also to test my limits as a writer. there are a bunch of little details ive written throughout the story tht serves as an indication for specific side effects of reader having gone thru…. well... All That. i did my best with it! do i think it could be better? probably. 😩😩 but ill leave it how it is instead of picking at it as i tend to do LMAO

Forming a secret organization [Dream SMP] liveblog and summary!
Good laugh times: 7:40, 1:18:15, 1:19:25

Summary:
Techno started the stream in the Nether. He quickly went back to the overworld and to his house, where he meets up with Phil and Ranboo. He mentions that the house smells like gunpowder, and Phil quickly ushers them outside and they continue their conversation.
Techno nudges Ranboo away from the conversation, and he leaves the call. Phil and Techno watch as Ranboo leaves the house, and then Techno tells Phil his news. He talks about how taking down L’Manburg wasn’t the greatest plan, especially as he’s only one person. He wants to bring other people to their anarchist ways.
Phil agrees to form a secret organization for anarchists, because they can’t fight ten to one.
Techno and Phil go to Ranboos house, asking for a feather, and Ranboo asks if he’s getting kicked out. They say no, and then Ranboo says that he has something that might get him kicked out.
He talks about how he sometimes doesn’t remember what he does, and that he was the person who blew up the community house.
Techno asks why, and Ranboo says he doesn’t know.
Phil and Techno agree that they don’t really care about the community house, and Ranboo continues, saying that he has one of the discs. Phil and Techno agree again that they don’t care about the discs at all.
Techno and Phil leave.
Techno leads Phil to a stronghold, which he calls a ‘structure,’ and they cover it with gravel to hide it. They enter the structure, and they find a library, some useless doors, and keep exploring, finding nothing. Techno is confused, thinking that there had to have been a reason for the stronghold's existence.
While looking at a connected Abandoned Mineshaft, Techno finds an enchanted golden apple.
They go into the lower parts of the stronghold, and they find a prison. Techno mentions that the bread he found earlier tasted around 2,000 years old, which gives us a rough (and joking) estimate of when the stronghold was made.
Phil finds a strange portal, and they talk about how advanced the previous civilization must had been, to be able to make unbreakable blocks. They hear a villager writing, and dig up to a strange room.
It ends up being the igluu where Orphans parents lived, and they start laughing, but then, DreamXD logs in. He breaks the portal, and then leaves. Techno begs dream to put the portal back, because it would’ve added to the lore, and that their characters didn’t know what it was, and were going to use it as a table.
Dream logs in again, and puts one (1) portal frame block down, and then leaves again. Phil tells Dream how to place the blocks incorrectly so they wouldn’t form a portal, and he logs in to place them back.
DreamXD hears Techno joking about going to the end, logs in, and then logs out when Techno says he’s joking. Then, Techno explains the difference between DreamXD and Dream, saying that DreamXD has canonical access to creative mode, and is like God, but Dream is just some homeless teletubby. DreamXD logs in, says ‘they actually are I am the protector,” and logs out.
In chat, Techno asks ‘who was that dram fanboy, how did he get whitelisted,’ and DreamXD logs in again, hits Techno with a sword a few times, and logs out.
Techno and Phil decorate the meeting room a bit, and they start talking about what the association should be called. Techno says that he wants it to be the ‘[blank] Syndicate,’ and before they can agree on anything, Ranboos nametag is spotted, and they agree to kill him if he comes into the meeting room.
Techno puts down a sign with the organization's motto, which is ‘Sic semper tyrannis,’ which means ‘thus always to tyrants.’
He starts writing in the manifesto.
“This syndicate is formed to promote anarchy and fight tyranny in all its forms.
“We shall have no Leader; no member shall be compelled to act if they do not choose to.
“No member shall reveal information about the Syndicate to outsiders.
“Technoblade shall serve as the Recruiter to induce new members into the Syndicate with Approval from a Majority of members.”
Phil and Techno leave the Stronghold, and realize that the Igluu wasn’t actually Orphans parents, but instead a different Igluu that Ranboo had been using for Cartographers. They go back to the house, planning to meet with Ranboo, but on the way, they find a strange tower made of stone. Its hollow, but theres no chests or anything inside. They continue and meet with Ranboo, who has gifts for them. Techno gets a Netherite shovel with Efficiency V, Mending, Silk Touch, and Unbreaking III.
He brings them under his house, and we find he has a ‘comfort room,’ made of netherrack, that has several mob heads on the walls, an extra set of armor, and pets sitting next to the ladder. They talk about the map on the wall, and Techno seems concerned, or a bit scared.
Techno and Phil leave the call, and talk about how extremely strange the room, and Ranboo, was. They recount their adventure, and move the villagers into a more efficient layout. Ranboo joins them after a few minutes, at 1:38:00, and they work on curing the zombie villagers and giving them jobs

How do like,, android bodies work in your android au? You mentioned, I think, that Poison has a warm body temperature— is that intentional on BLI’s part, or as a result of mechanisms and stuff running? Do they need to breathe/can they breathe? How easily would one be able to tell someone’s an android? How common is it for androids to defect from BLI? Is Poison’s hair red by choice, or is it naturally red? Do they know how much I love them? /j on the last one :)
!!!!! okay SO (keep in mind ive done no research and i like to pretend i know shit about mechanics)
to my knowledge, all contained mechanical things need to be cooled somehow, either with a fan (like a laptop or a video game system) or a coolant system (like uhhh cars (which also have fans shhh)). androids in this verse have fan systems to keep from overheating and like, frying their boards, but they dont rlly work well bc there isnt a lot of venting for the heat to escape. (why dont they have coolant then, you may ask, bc i dont want them to). so its not an intentional thing but jsut a byproduct of mechanisms running, but i like to use it as a way to show emotions. anytime im like “there was a whirring sound” odds are the person whirring is doing some like, intense thinking. Might be modeled after how my computer sounds like a jet trying to take off anytime im in a zoom lecture (dont tell anyone)
they can breath! but they dont need to. however, the way i picture their like, voiceboxes/vocal cords working is that they need some kind of airflow to create the sounds so while they dont need to breathe, they do if they want to talk/make noise.
it depends!! for things like android girls (pornodroids but i feel like thats not how they like to be called yknow?) and patrol/security droids its more important that they look organic because of the emotional response they need to draw from citizens. like in canon, other droids can totally look robotic but then theyre less considered droids and more considered robots (by BL/ind at least, i think its a bit of a self-identification thing to them if they prefer being robots/droids. android specifically refers to the ones that look organic tho) (you didnt ask for a tangent about naming conventions but its my post)
HOWEVER! desert patrol droids are easier to tell that they are droids because after long enough in the sun, they start to fade (you know how fences need to be repainted?) and they fade unevenly. access panels fade faster than regular ‘skin’ so an old desert patrol droid (like poison) will have patches of skin that r way more washed out than the rest of them. (also they fade, not lighten)
i dont think it’s super common for droids to defect :/ poison was a rare case bc he literally got abandoned and ghoul was right there when he woke up, but if ghoul hadn’t been then they probably would have just made their way back to the city. the better treated a droid is (BLi standards of droid treatment apply) the less likely they are to defect, and treatment is kinda tied to how organic a droid looks, (think abt like, headless preacher droid from the comics)
GOOD QUESTION! i havent fully fleshed this out yet. im caught somewhere between droids arent given hair vs they are given hair but its all standard issue vs somehow BLI made it possible for droids to actually grow hair. but i think regardless, poisons hair wasnt RED the way it is in the zones. that was a them-reclaiming-their-body thing
