You‘re the only person I‘ve ever seen who ships Link with Ruto. I don‘t even go here but still, based. More power to you op!

Thanks, I based on what I've read and seen in the games, the truth is that oot Link seems only interested in Zelda in all possible conditions 😅

And with Ruto there are some canonical foundations, which is why I think this is the most suitable choice, but they are just thoughts because we will never know if it is true

Then the most popular choice, Malon and Link as a couple, as far as I remember (correct me if I'm wrong) only in the manga Malon shows romantic interest, but Link has his mind on Zelda even in that case, I had too little on this one to choose it either

Various thoughts and we will probably never know the truth 😆

But obviously there are many possible couples, but my thought remains that Time remained alone in the end...

I think he is more a man of honor and battle than of love, but this is just my opinion, but he showed that he cares for Twilight like a son, this made me happy

This was based off of @cloudninetonine 's fanfiction called a players aid and honestly I loved it so much I started to write again so made a little fic about it in my down time if y'all got any comments or criticisms let me know.

Across time

LU/oot link x child!reader

the guide is 11/12 during the events of the story

Tw: general angst,light body dysmorphia?, Poor editing, oot spoilers.

The hero of time had a child not physically but mentally in a way he dubbed them the guide normally the child be concerned a strange small voice talking talking to them like they had known him his entire life like he was there best friend and them in return and it was quite annoying.

Until he had to leave his home behind the first time he heard them go quiet was after he left the kokiri Forest for the first time saying farewell to saria and the place you've known as a home for all his life was not an easy task maybe even worse by the silence his guide presented after saying goodbye to one of his only friends he felt them he felt there warm tender embrace he could feel there kindness and empathy radiating within him.

"I'm sorry link I know this must be hard for you, to just leave everything and go on a journey like this but hey at least you're not alone you've got me and I'll make sure we get through this together, ok." The child-like voice spouted, sounding not much similar than his own.

"Thank you" he whispered

"What's your name?"

" I'm Y/N " they replied with childlike enthusiasm.

"Do you think we will really stay together through this" he spoke silently walking into Hyrule Field.

"Yeah well we got to, I know you have navi, but who else is going to watch your back." The guide exclaimed to the child hero.

And they did, even when link had went to the master sword sealed within it's pedistle anxiety radiating within him he pulled sealing his fate.

Saria was gone

Princess Ruto was gone

Dariunia was gone

Zelda was missing

All he had was navi and his guide

Y/N had proven to be a beacon of light in his dreary adventure' not to say Navi wasn't helpful but Navi never had any helpful puzzle solving skills and the guide had an odd but unique scence of humor.

Whenever the mood got dark and whenever link let his mind wander too much he could always count on his guide to make a off-color/strange, funny joke, awful pun or even just some reassuring affirmation to keep his Spirit's up.

But then it all changed as soon as the master sword was pulled out of its pedistle it all changed the young boy had the body of a young man, but not the mind to match. And everything, was changed not just the young hero but his land castle town was decrepit, a shell of its former self,Zora's domain a frozen pit, and gororn city all but abandoned.

Hyrule had gone to "heck in a handbag" as they said the one thing stayed the same, his only constant thus far his guide.

Y/n

But things never really got better after finding all the stages but y/n remaind through every hardship trial and quest no matter how bleak it got at least he had people to rely on navi and his self proclaimed "guide".

Until the inevitable end.

Zelda was taken by gannondorf, trapped in a crystal and taken to the remains of Hyrule castle.

This was the endgame he knew it and so did y/n.

"Don't worry link we'll rescue Zelda and save the day together ' we just gotta!" They exclaimed with the typical childlike nativity.

Link on the other hand was not so sure he couldn't escape the sinking feeling that something bad was going to happen regardless of how this was going to end.

"Ok then let's finish this and bring peace to Hyrule!" Link exclaimed.

The battle and escape was grueling, every attack from Gannon hurt tenfold however this was nothing with his guide and navi by his side the two people he could depend on most.

He could take on anything, right?

"Right, Y/n......"

"Y/n"

" I'm sorry link The adventures over it's time for me to go" they sniffled.

Were they crying?

"Please I already lost navi I don't want to lose you too' don't go please." He sobbed did everything they went through together.

"I,m so sorry I don't want to go but the adventures over I wish I could stay longer but I cant"

"I'm sorry link, goodbye."

And then as if he felt his soul leave his body they left.

Just like that.

There warmth and tenderness he felt all throughout his very being was gone.

"Y/n"

"Please come back."

Aww no problem, I love these two together!

Well I didn't actually say that they are together, because Time believed that his true love was for Zelda, but they respected each other a lot, and yes we can say that there was something romantic between them

Ruto has always supported Time's choices except that of war, she wanted to keep him safe and in the end she failed to do so

But we'll definitely talk about it later!

Day Four- Prince Sidon

500 Follower Event, 30 Day Writing Prompts Prompt: Blood, Vivid, Cardamom, Prince Sidon (LOZ) Pairing: Prince Sidon x Link Tags: Fluff, Pining, Kisses Word Count: 1,049

Sidon glides through the secluded pond, red fin cresting the surface, crystal water sliding with ease off his slick skin. A piece of him feels guilty for taking this time to himself, especially so soon after a crisis. But with the defeat of Vah Ruta and a return to balance for the Zora people, King Dorephan gave Sidon permission to rest. Actually, he commanded it, knowing full well that it would take more than a gentle suggestion to get the prince to take a day off.

“Link, already you’ve provided great aid to the Zora people. But if you will allow me, I have one final request,” Dorephan’s voice had boomed through the royal court just one day earlier. Hyrule’s greatest warrior, weary but resolute, stood at the ready for the Zora King’s next command.

“My son has been working tirelessly,” Dorephan went on, gaze flicking towards Sidon standing at attention beside him, “Please, if you will, make sure he takes a day of rest. He will not listen to me, but seeing as you are a dear friend to him, I think he will be more inclined to heed your suggestion.”

“Father-” Sidon had protested, mortified that the King would make such a personal demand of Link. But, as is his nature, Link made no complaints and eagerly awaited the prince the following morning. They met on the bridge, Sidon free of any royal accessories and Link dressed in a simple tunic and trousers. The sight of Hyrule’s greatest warrior in casualwear brought heat to Sidon’s cheeks. It felt almost intimate to see Link relaxed, in garb that would not betray the accolades or acclaim he has earned over the years. That paired with Link’s gentle beam of greeting was practically enough to stop the Zora prince’s heart then and there.

“Where are we going?” Sidon had questioned, trailing along behind the tiny Hylian.

“I know a place,” is all Link had uttered, bounding off towards the Ruto Mountains. After some climbing, Link came to a pause in front of a small opening in the cliffside. Wordlessly, he crouched and disappeared into the hole, leaving Sidon to wonder if he ought to follow (if he could even fit, that is). The prince minced about for a moment, debating what to do, before giving into curiosity and following Link’s path. The opening was narrow, but wide enough for the Zora prince to cautiously inch through. Whatever fear he had of getting stuck swiftly dissipated when Sidon emerged from the cavern and was met with perhaps the most beautiful swimming spot he’d ever laid eyes on. Lush greenery surrounded a pond with water clear as glass. Lotus flowers floated languidly on the surface and hot-footed frogs darted in and out of the pool. Sidon, in awe, caught a triumphant Link’s gaze.

“However did you find this place?” the Prince questioned, marveling at the sheer beauty of it all. Link merely shrugged, explaining he’d stumbled across it on his journeys, and that was that.

Now, Link perches on a nearby rock, dangling his feet in the water while Sidon gracefully drifts through the clear pond. Little is said between them for a while, each enjoying the solitude and tranquility after days of chaos and battle. Link looks haggard, dark circles under his eyes and an exhausted slump in his shoulders. But when Sidon meets his gaze, the vivid blue of the Hylian’s irises is as bright as ever. Link smiles softly, gesturing for the prince to come closer. Sidon gently paddles nearer, surfacing once he reaches the edge of the pond. From his pack, Link pulls out something wrapped in parchment paper. He unravels it to reveal a heavenly scented loaf of spiced bread. A burst of cardamom hits Sidon’s nose as Link slices into it, quietly offering up a piece to the prince. It almost melts on his tongue, fluffy, delicate, and deliciously moist.

Sidon lingers at the edge of the pond for a while, sharing cardamom bread with Link and chit-chatting about anything and everything. The prince had been impressed by the Hylian from the beginning, but is even more so when he hears about all the other foes he’s had to do battle with. As Link weaves tale after tale, Sidon finds himself wondering something he’s been wondering for a while: what it might be like to steal a kiss from the blonde warrior before him. He has resigned this thought to fantasy, however, knowing it could never be. So he simply absorbs Link’s words, listening with intent as the normally reticent Hylian opens up to him about the struggles he’s faced.

Sidon wonders if Link can see the wonderment in his eyes, the admiration. He wonders if Link can sense the way his heart flutters when their hands brush against one another or if he can hear the very blood rushing through his veins. Lost in this thought, he’s hardly aware of what Link says next, until he repeats it.

“You’ve got some crumbs here,” the Hylian says again, brushing his own lip with his thumb. Sidon, wrenched from his daydreaming, sputters a, “thank you,” before attempting to brush away the pieces of cake that have stuck themselves to his lower lip.

“Is it gone?” Sidon questions, staring expectantly up at Link, who gives him a patient smile in return.

“Here,” the Hylian offers, tenderly brushing his thumb over Sidon’s lower lip, sending the poor prince into a tizzy. The tension is palpable, the world around them suddenly silent. Sidon could swear his heart has halted in his chest. He holds his breath as Link’s thumb rests against the corner of his mouth. The Hylian’s cheeks are dusted pink. Maybe it’s the heat of the sun or the strenuous climb up the mountain that has him flushed. Surely, it must be that, Sidon thinks.

Until Link bends ever so slightly, his face mere centimeters from Sidon, whose breath hitches in his throat. Time seems to slow to a crawl, the Zora prince’s hand reaching up to cup Link’s cheek as Link passes his thumb once more over Sidon’s lip. Sidon wonders if he’s dreaming when the Hylian’s lips press against his own, soft and sweet, tasting of cardamom and sending elated shivers down the Zora prince’s spine.

A/N: I meant to keep these between 500 and 800 words, but I got a little carried away with this one... And I had to cut it down! I planned for even more, goodness gracious. Anyway, I haven't written a Sidlink fic before and I really enjoyed writing this little one! Maybe some more in the future? Possibly even Sidon x Link x OC? Thank you for reading! My Thoughts on the Zelda Timeline and Tears of the Kingdom

Given how the Imprisoning War mentioned in Tears of the Kingdom contradicts the one mentioned in the prolouge of Link to the Past, Rauru and Sonia forming the Kingdom of Hyrule and being the first King and Queen (despite Ocarina of Time coming before) and the Ganondorf in this game seemingly having no recollection of past Links/Heroes and Zeldas or connection to the Ganondorf of past games...it's my guess that they reset the series lore starting with Breath of the Wild and the ten thousand years between it and the era of Myth.

The only other game that stills seems to have any relevant unchanged and non-contradicted canon seems to be Skyward Sword but that's mostly due to it being a starting point, the game's director being the same as BOTW and TOTK, and the Forgotten Temple. Honestly it seems like that because they reintroduced and make allusions to key moments and figures in the series in this game like the Sages (particularly King Rauru) and Imprisoning War from LttP, and Ganondorf and him being welcomed by the King and distrusted by Zelda like he was in Ocarina of Time. I should also point out that the original Imprisoning War happens right before the Fallen Timeline which takes place after OoT, and in that Ganondorf has permanently transformed into pig Ganon after killing Time Link and attaining the full Triforce.

There are too many timeline contradictions yet intentional references in the game's story to past games that it seems like a reboot is the most credible idea.

However at the same time, there are too many connections to previous games that take place after Skyward Sword that even the idea of a series reboot is questionable like the Temple of Time, old OoT Castle Town ruins, the sages from OoT being referenced by the stones surrounding the Master Sword and the Sheikah monks' poses during the Master Sword Trials, the Koroks and Deku Tree, the mural about Ruto's love for Time Link, Rauru sharing the name of one of the sages from OoT, and Darmani. Also, what are the chances of there being another event in Zelda lore referred to as the Imprisoning War that involves an incarnation of Ganon, sages, sealing Ganon, and one of the sages being named Rauru like the Sage of Light?

Are the games during the Era of Myth just that, mythology? Fairy tales? Is there even a Triforce anymore? The symbol is shown but its not referred to as such and Ganondorf in this game shows no interest or knowledge of the Triforce like every other character. On the opposite end of this is Skyward Sword which they reinforce is connected to the latest games with Fi, the Forgotten Temple and Sealed Temple connections, the tree growing out the wall and the fact the Hylia statue gives you the Goddess Sword:

It's so weird everytime Tears of the Kingdom's story made a reference to past games (that aren't Skyward Sword), when you think they are trying to connect them (like I initially thought), it turns around and makes it self-contained and isolated incident exclusive from any game that came before BOTW and Skyward Sword. With all the trouble Nintendo's had making sense of and reworking the Zelda timeline the past few decades for the fans and the success of Breath of the Wild, may be they wanted to wipe the slate clean (with Skyward Sword being the start of that initiative).

At first maybe they were hesistant which is why they stated the timelines converge into BOTW, but I guess they decided during TOTK's development or before and, again, may be due to the massive success of BOTW they just said screw it and just do it with the latest game's story showing the beginning of the Kingdom of Hyrule. These are just my messy thoughts based on my basic understanding of the timeline and theories I've heard and I welcome any other explanations.

EDIT(6/19/23)

So it's been brought to my attention that the Imprisoning War in TOTK may possibly be a second Imprisoning War (thanks @ghoul--chan ). The implications and can of worms that opens is shocking. Since Zelda was transported to the beginning of Hyrule as a kingdom and the start of the Royal Family, that would mean that she was transported to before Minish Cap. If that is true...dear goddess.... that would mean the Ganondorf in this game is one that existed before Ocarina of Time.

That also implies that two incarnations of Ganondorf had been somehow co-existing at the same time during the Era of Myth with one being sealed underground. This also mean that the Imprisoning War in Link to the Past is now retroactively a callback to this hypothetical first Imprisoning War; both involve sages, both involve a sage of Light named Rauru, and both involve sealing an incarnation of Ganon. Also, this means the Rito existed before Wind Waker making this mural from Twilight Princess HD reference to that!!

Impa and Linebeck II slowly climb out of the boat that fell from the sky while dave flys down and lands on Linebeck head

Linebeck II: I’m alive?

Impa: Both you shut up I’m trying not to-

Groose: IMPA!

Impa: Great now I’m hearing Groose, how hard did I hit my head

Dave: Well we did fall from the sky *Bird sound*

Groose is running towards them

Groose: IMPA!

Impa: Great now I’m seeing him

Linebeck:Oh I see him too

Impa: Wait what? GROOSE?

Groose: Impa! 🥰

Impa: GROOSE! 😅

Impa starts running to groose

Groose: IMPA! 🥹

Impa: Groose! 😤

Groose: Impa? 🥺

Impa: GROOSE! 😡

When they collide impa decks Groose in the face then flips him over her shoulder and straddles on-top of him
