I procrastinated figuring out how to use my fancy new sewing machine SO hard i made a quilt design about it, and then started making the quilt, with the sewing machine, so i think i’m procrastinating so hard it’s coming back around into productivity? this is wayyyy too fucking ambitious for my first quilt and i have no idea what the fuck i’m doing but! that will not stop me!
originally the design was much larger and for a queen size, and then i got out a yardstick and realized that’s way too fucking big so i downsized the scale and moved things around and added more buy’cese, i’m not sold on the background color and i’m prob not going to embroider the crusader’s emblem or the vizsla emblem like i had planned bc it stands out too much, but i was thinking of stitching the mythosaur symbol down the vertical sides, but i could also do lines of “bic cuyir te ara” since i’m already gonna be hand stitching so much goddamn mando’a
i’m pretty sure i can program custom embroidery patterns into my fancy machine (which is the whole thing i’m procrastinating about so finishing all the buy’cese will force me to find out) so i want to do the resol’nare in gold, but i don’t think anything with gold filament is gonna be strong enough for that so i may do yellow and embroider a bit in gold filament just to get around that, and then i’m still sorting through what patterns i wanna do across the quilt, i was thinking random concentric squares of lines of text, that way i could do kote darasuum around where cody is and a much bigger one spreading from the taung at the bottom with a version of dha werda verda (still haven’t figured out which one to use), but then i don’t know what to do about the rest of the quilt, and like do i really want to hand stitch everything in mando’a characters (resigned)
so obviously what i’m using here is a mix of different canons with some fanon sprinkled in (sue me, canon mandalor the uniter fucking sucks, basic bitch buy’ce, so i replaced that one with the irl dude’s mandalorian oc of the same title bc quite frankly it’s more meaningful to the fandom and it looks fucking sick), some of them had very little canon material to work with so i tried my best to wing it (tarre vizsla didn’t really have a buy’ce per se so i’m still debating using matte black for that one), some i picked bc they looked cool and not because they’re relevant, some i left out purposefully
Tumblr media
i started with the darksaber, because i thought “it’s smaller and just a bunch of straight lines, how hard can it be?” but it turns out needle-point turn on all those stupid tiny corners is, in fact, a new layer of hell i had previously remained oblivious to, but i still did it, and it’s only a little wonky
Tumblr media
ok so the quality is shit, but it’ll look real nice when i fucking needle-point turn applique this shit to the top layer and then detail it all in silver when i’ve got all the sandwich together, and i’m real fucking proud of myself for getting the first bucket done, and it even mostly lays flat!
Tumblr media
i’ve got this stupid shiny black fabric i’m using for all the visors and it is definitely painful as hell to work with but god does it look nice

Trailer Park Steve AU part 3
part 1 | part 2
(tw: guns, accidental death)
Robin’s already in full panic mode by the time Steve pulls up to her place, flinging the passenger door open and throwing herself into the car with so much force that the car bounces on its wheels a little. “Drive!!”
“Jesus Christ, good morning to you, too.”
“Steve!”
Steve starts to drive.
Beside him, Robin flips the visor down to look at her reflection; groans and scrubs her hands down her face in misery at whatever she sees. Steve doesn’t really get it. He thinks she looks beautiful, with her hair gently moving in the breeze from the open window, with her freckles lit up by the early morning sun.
“Ugh,” she says, turning to look at him, “I can’t believe I look like a zombie and you’re gonna make me late to the first day of school.”
“Wow.” Fuckin’ ingrate. And when he was just being so nice to her in his head. “How about a thank you, huh? ‘Thanks for picking me up, Steve. Thanks for bringing my backpack, Steve. Sorry you almost got shanked by your neighbor, Steve.’”
“You what???”
“Doesn’t matter.”
“Um, yes it very much does matter, what the—”
“—I’m just saying, a little gratitude? Wouldn’t hurt you.”
He licks at the corner of his mouth, spritzes wiper fluid to clear the bugs off the windshield. Robin’s eyes are bulging out of her head, but he really doesn’t want to talk about how he still feels the ghost press of steel against his throat, so: “You’re not even right, by the way; I don’t know why you’re complaining.”
“Huh?”
“School started yesterday. I’m making you late for the second day of school.”
“Yesss,” she draws the word out like he’s stupid, rolling her wrist in a hurry up and get it motion, “but everyone knows that syllabus day doesn’t count. The first pep rally is the real first day of school.”
Ah, there it is.
Steve steals another peek at his best friend while they’re on a straightaway, notes the nervous twitch of her hands as she goes back to fussing at her reflection; the way she’s clumping her lashes together with seven coats too many of some drugstore brand mascara. She’s wearing lipstick. “This is about Vick—”
“—Don’t talk about—”
“—It’s about Vickie, isn’t it?”
“Ughhhhh.” Robin folds forward and thunks her head against the dash. “Fine, okay? Fine! Yes! This may have something to do with a distressingly cute fellow marching band member. Are you happy now?”
“Ecstatic.”
“Oooh, big word for you, Steven.” She swats him on the shoulder, face all twisted up in offense. “Stop laughing!”
“Stop hitting me,” he laughs. “I’ll dump your ass out on this highway.”
She gasps and narrows her eyes at him. “You wouldn’t.”
Steve eases his foot onto the brake.
“Okay, okay! Mercy! I’m being an asshole, alright? I’m sorry. I’m just— I’m stressed! Being gay is very stressful.”
The knife incident pops back into his mind. “Yeah,” he mutters, “I imagine it is.”
He catches himself slouching down into his seat a bit when they pull up to the school. Has to force himself to sit upright, hears his mother’s tutting in his ear about bad posture and the message it projects to the world.
It’s not that he’s embarrassed to be here; really, he isn’t. He’s just hoping to avoid being spotted by the nuggets now that they go here, too, lest he be accosted for evading his chauffeur duties.
God.
Dustin’s nerd shit is infecting his brain.
Robin grabs her bag out of the back seat, plants a parting peck on Steve’s cheek as she gets out of the car. “See you later?”
“Yeah, I’ll pick you up for work.”
“Love you, dingus.”
And then he’s alone again.
With Robin gone, Steve finds himself driving. Wandering and aimless, like a ghost who doesn’t know he’s gone. It’s not like he has nothing to do — he’s supposed to be out finding a second job, finding a way to support himself and his mom, because he’s the man of the house now. Because his life has turned into one of those shitty, overcomplicated word problems from math class.
If a recently widowed mother works no hours and her minimum-wage son works as many as Family Video will allow, how much mold-riddled dogshit housing can they afford?
Not much.
Inevitably, he finds himself circling the scorched bones of Starcourt, driving tired loops around the barbed wire perimeter. His ghost likes to guide him here; can’t shake the place where he shook off the mortal coil.
He didn’t know it at the time, but Steve Harrington died the day the mall burned down. Embarrassing, to not hear the death knell as his family name went up in smoke.
It was hard to hear much at all that night, between the concussion and the fireworks and the shrieking of a monster being torn apart, but the memory caresses his mind now in cruel whispers: the headrush of victory; the blood and the sweat; the relief that they’d won, they’d done it, it’s over, they won.
Steve tugs at his bad ear ‘til the ringing subsides.
Some fucking grand prize.
The thing is, you can’t go around exploding an eldritch horror without alerting the US government, and the US government can’t go around letting major investors in a hostile commie invasion keep their assets once they find out about their treasonous schemes. It happened fast: the arrest, the bail, the impending trial and the seizure of property. Richard Harrington was once a small town god on an invisible throne, making deals with devils in shadowy boardrooms, and suddenly he was looking at life in a cell.
Maybe it was a blessing he died before his reckoning was due. Maybe it was no accident at all.
The second, and perhaps more important, thing is: stray bullets don’t care about your looming court date.
Dad had a habit of cleaning his guns while he was drunk, nursing a whiskey in one hand while he polished the gleaming barrels with the other. Pointless, really, because the guns were always pristine to begin with. Dick Harrington didn’t hunt. Didn’t shoot. Claimed the pistol was for home defense, that he kept it loaded in case anyone ever tried to hurt his family, but Steve knew the truth.
His dad just liked to flirt with death. Liked to handle pretty, deadly things, stroke his fingers over ruthless metal and feel the rush of power when he walked away unscathed.
He didn’t walk away that night.
Didn’t even face death standing.
Sliced through his femoral artery and rolled right out of his chair.
They found him lying on the ground in a dark, sticky puddle, gasping like a fish as blood spurted from his thigh. Crazy how fast it happened. Steve had been in his room when the shot rang out, and he barely managed to reach the bottom of the stairs before the gurgling noises stopped. Just boom! whizz! bang! and Dick Harrington was gone.
Maybe it’s a good thing, too, that they lost the house.
The image of his mother in the hallway that night — shellshocked in the doorway, one pale hand shaking in front of her open mouth, features wide and wet with waking horror as she stared into the room — was enough to make him never want to step foot in the place again.
So now they live in a rundown piece of shit on the wrong side of town, with hideous burnt orange carpet and wood paneled walls, with cracks in the ceiling and cigarette burns in the walls, some parting gifts from whatever feral hick lived there before them, and it feels like another cruel, cosmic joke. Like the universe is delighting in the Harringtons’ comeuppance; like the blackened beams and brick rubble of Starcourt are all twisting to form one great, mocking mouth; the better to smile and laugh at their misfortune.
You bought your bed, now you have to lie in it.
He didn’t even know that the Harringtons owned Forest Hills until it was the only asset left to their name.
He’s pretty sure his dad bought it more as a joke than a genuine investment. Meant to teach Steve a lesson, like how he used to bring home Waffle House applications whenever Steve got a C on a report card. This is your future if you don’t straighten up, son.
Kill yourself, dad.
Oh, wait.
You already did.

im giggling thinkin about biker!simon finding out you haven’t ever ridden a bike before and so the first thing he does is tell you to stay put before hopping on his harley and driving away.
you stand there, blinking, still reeling over what happened. you’re quite confused if your date really just left you, before giving up on worrying as you hold onto the hopes that he’d come back. he did say he will but how many of your dates and ex-partners fooled you because, apparently, you’re too “gullible” and it’s just too “funny”?
too fucking many times, that’s what.
you amble towards an empty bench while you wait, fluffing up your skirt and dusting your sweater before fixing your hair. you itch to message your friends, anxious thoughts buzzing underneath your veins, but simon had always been such a gentleman with you. always so caring and pampering. always so honest with his affections. he isn’t like anyone you’ve ever been and so you want to trust him.
and you do. god, you do. because you trust him with your safety. with your heart.
time crawls by but the agonizing drag does end. you didn’t have to wait long, you realize with a giddy heart, as you see simon driving back. his head whips around the park, trying to find you, and you giggle as you stand up, waving your hand above your head to catch his attention.
his helmeted head snaps towards your direction and you smile as the purr of his engine becomes louder, his bike devouring the space between the two of you eagerly.
“hey, sweetheart,” he says as he snaps his visor up, his beautiful eyes crinkled as he smiles at you.
the butterflies in your stomach roar, and you almost choke on the intensity of your happiness as you whisper back, “hey there, big guy.”
simon preens like he loves the nickname and you sear his reaction to your memory, already anticipating the next opportunity where you get to call him that again.
“i‘ve got somethin’ for you,” simon announces before twisting towards the other side of his harley, reaching for something that you couldn’t see. you tilt your head, trying to act cool as you wait.
simon turns back to you with a shy smile tickling his lips, and your eyes instantly flicks towards his hands where he cradled a cute little purple helmet – one of the many things you didn’t expect him to return with.
“is that a bicycle helmet?” you blurt out.
“yeah,” he laughs, a pretty sound. “this is all they have.”
“‘they’?” you finally move close to him as you ask this, taking tentative steps on the gravel.
“the closest bike rental,” simon replies, sounding embarrassed. “you said y’ve never been on a bike and, well, this is a safe environment so i thought, ‘why not?’”
you breathe in sharply, his words curling along the crevices of your heart. “lemme get this straight,” you begin, swallowing the lump in your throat. “you heard me say i’ve never been on a bike before so your first reaction was to drive away to find a closest bike rental so you can get me a helmet because you want to give me a safe bike ride?”
“…yeah,” he whispers, hesitant. “i mean, if you don’t want to then that’s oka- are you crying?”
“shut up,” you whimper, hiding your face behind your palms.
you hear him curse, the engine of his bike shutting off, before hearing the way his feet drop on the gravel and march towards you. in a heartbeat, you are pulled in his embrace, with your face pressed on his chest, and you eagerly breathe in the scent of leather and ozone that is stuck on him. he pats your head softly, his palm dragging along your hair as he continues to comfort you.
you sniffle, unable to stop the tears because what the actual fuck.
you have never felt so loved. so adored. so revered.
you chew on your confession, your heart and mind syncing up for once. simon, i-
(later, when you’ve finally calmed down, you will let out a wet giggle and apologize for dampening the mood. simon will just smile at your adorable, tear-swollen face and tell you that you have nothing to apologize for. then, he’ll kiss your forehead before securing your helmet on your head. he’ll tighten the strap around your chin, gently knock on the shell, then pull you onto his bike. you two will spend the rest of the afternoon just making slow and gentle donuts around the park, laughing and chatting.
and then, gritting through the choking staccato of your heartbeat, you will tell simon that you want more than a flurry of dates. that you want something more official. then, you will tell him you love him and simon will buckle before you because,
“me too, sweet girl. i’m so in love with you too.”)

“Fuck!” You shout slamming the hood of your car down. On your way through the countryside on a road trip, your car decided to break down. You’re in a foreign country, the sun is setting, and having no one to help leaves you feeling overwhelmed and defeated. You sit back in your car and begin to cry. In your mind driving solo across Europe was going to be a piece of cake, yet here you are because you tried to save money and got a piece of shit car.
The sound of a semi-truck braking gets your attention as you look into your rear-view mirror to see a blue truck had pulled off and stopped behind you. In a hurry you pull down your visor to check yourself as you wipe tears away and try to relax your face. You close it just in time to see a massive man jump out of the cab of the semi and walk in your direction. A wave of fear rushed over you as you realized you have no items for self-defense on you.
A knock on the driver’s side window, and the tall trucker steps back and stares at you with piercing blue eyes. Taking a deep breath, you open the car door and step out. His eyes look you up and down.
“Are you stranded?” His voice is smooth with a thick Austrian accent.
“Yes, I am.” Your voice cracks from the nervousness you’re feeling. He is built like a tank and like, really fucking tall.
He gives you a small nod before extending his hand to you, “I’m König.”
“Y/n,” you grab his hand and shake it. His hand is massive and swallows yours.
“You’re not from here, are you?” He gives you a warm smile trying to be nice.
“I’m not…”
“Do you have anyone here you can call?” The question seems innocent enough.
“No, I don’t. My phone has no signal either.”
“Hm,” König looks at your car and then to you once more. “Well, I can’t possibly leave you here alone, especially with it getting dark... where were you heading?”
“I was heading to the German border.”
“Hm, that’s a six-hour drive Maus.”
“It’s okay if you can’t-”
“I can, I’m heading that way. I’ll drive you as close as I can get and help you get set up with a ride in.” He gives you such a genuinely warm smile that you feel your guard beginning to drop.
“I- I really appreciate that, König.” You turn to go to your car and open the back seat to grab two small suitcases out.
“I’ll grab those for you Fräulein.” König walks behind you and gently reaches past you to grab your bags. The sweet vanilla body lotion you’re wearing catches his attention and he tries to take a deep breath as discreetly as he possibly can.
You back away, slightly bumping him. “Oh, sorry. Thank you so much König. You’re like a God send.”
He smiles back at you while holding your bags and closing the car door, “Is this all there is?”
“Yes, that’s it.” You two begin to walk towards the semi-truck as you look around the farm land.
Once to the truck König opens the door for you and helps you climb into the cab, his hand grazing your butt seemed innocent enough so you brush it off. It was most definitely not innocent. He is simply testing your boundaries and seeing how you’d react.
You set you bag down on the floor as König walked around to the driver’s side. He walks to the back of the cab and puts your bags on his small bed back there. He finally sits in the driver seat and looks over at you.
“Are you ready to go?” He asks in a gentle voice.
“Yeah,” you look out at the car that broke down on you feeling slightly sad.
“Don’t worry about that car,” König says, noticing your sad gaze. “I will help you out, I promise. I can’t leave a young woman stranded.” His smile is so warm and genuine, but the look in his eyes shows he has different motives with you.
As he pulled back onto the road König found himself checking you out. His eyes are drawn to the curve of your breast in your tight shirt and the way your thighs look as you sit down in the seat. He was going to have fun with you.
“So, where are you originally from?” He asks, keeping his eyes straight ahead.
You answer and explain how you have always wanted to visit Europe so on impulse you decided to come.
“A bit far from home aren’t you Maus?” He asks with a sly smile on his lips. “Do you even have any friends or contacts in any of these countries?”
“No, I don’t.” You shake your head not realizing these are questions you shouldn’t be answering truthfully.
“That’s a shame, you could get hurt out here. Good thing I came across you and not some… pervert.” He turns his gaze from the road to you and looks at how your breasts bounce with every bump he hits. He couldn’t wait to see what they actually look like, but in his head, he is running through every possibility.
“Yeah…thank you so much for all of your help. Really. I was about to give up and go back home.” You giggle softly.
Your giggle was so genuine and soft. Your lips look tender and kissable. He wanted to see how your lips look wrapped around his cock or sucking on his full nut sack.
“That would have been a shame, it’s good to explore. See the world and expand your horizon.” He says it so casually as if he isn’t thinking of shoving your head down on his dick and making you give him road head. I wonder if she does anal…
You both drive while having small talk. Innocent topics like your hobbies, home life, any little question he can drop to get more information out of you. The sun was now completely set and König noticed your eyes becoming tired as the drive went on.
“If you need to rest, there’s a small bed in the back. It’s not much, but if I can sleep on it, you’ll do just fine.” There’s a friendly chuckle in his tone as his eyes look over at you. Watching as you turn in the seat and look into the dark tiny cab with the bed. His eyes trailing up and down your legs before going back up to your eyes.
“Oh,” you couldn’t explain this feeling in your gut. It was as if it were screaming at you, telling you no and that you should stay awake. You really shouldn’t even be in this truck. Shoving those feelings to the side and excusing them as anxiety, you look back at König.
“Don’t worry, y/n, I don’t bite.” König says with a big smile revealing his sharp K9s. “You’ll be safe with me.”
You nod your head as you begin to stand and walk to the back, it was dark so you used your hands to guide you back there. It was simple since it’s a small space. Taking your bags off the bed and setting them on the floor, you lay down and rest your head on the pillow. Grabbing the thin blue blanket on the bed to cover yourself, you feel so happy to be in a bed, even if its this tiny.
König turns his head slightly to look back at you. It has been ten minutes so he wanted to know if you were asleep or not.
“You settled in alright back there?” He waits to see if he hears your voice.
“No…” Your voice meek as if you feel bad you can’t fall asleep.
“Would you like a sleeping pill Maus?” Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes… “My doctor gave them to me to help with the uncomfortable sleeping situation.” He chuckles softly. That was a bold face lie, he got them from his handy dandy street dealer for a moment like this.
You know it isn’t smart to take medication from others, especially prescribed and from a stranger. You hesitate for a moment trying to think of your answer.
“Here,” he opens up a small pill organizer with one hand and holds them out for you to grab. His eyes are straight ahead still on the road.
You slowly get up and grab one, “Thank you.”
“You can take a sip of my water. I promise I have no gross germs.” He laughs, his laughs so warm and welcoming.
You take the sleeping pill and thank him again. Returning to the tiny bed in the back of the cab you try to get as comfortable as you can. You keep your eyes open for a while, looking at the little bits of König and the road you can see from the angle. By the time I wake up we should be close to the German border, and I’ll be able to continue on my way. This is just for a few hours…just…a few…more…
Twenty minutes pass as König continues to drive. There is a truck stop coming up where he can refill and where he’d usually rest. He looks over his shoulder at you again, “You still awake?” He asks rather loudly.
No response.
“Are you asleep?” He asks again at the same loudness, no response. “Perfect.”
König pulls into the truck stop as usual. He pulls up to the gas station and gets out of the semi to refill the tank and make sure all his wheels are in good condition. He buys you a drink and something to eat when you wake up from the concession area inside before you pay. He grabbed himself another water and a snack as well. Casually he got back to the truck and drove it around back to the parking lot where truckers can park and sleep for the night. He took his time setting up the window covers and making sure the doors were locked and safe. Standing in the now total darkness of the cab, he looks in your direction.
“Hey,” he said, lightly shaking your leg to see if you would wake up. You didn’t. Good.
He pulls his cell phone out of his pocket and pulls the blanket off of you. His hand caresses the curve of your waist, hip, and ass slowly taking his time to enjoy the way the curves feel. His hand wrapping around your ass and squeezing.
He turns on the light from his phone and illuminates the small cabin. He crouches down beside you and gently pushes your body back so you’re lying on your back now. His hand gently runs under your shirt and caresses the soft skin of your abdomen. His hand reaching up and cupping your breast over your bra. He lets out a soft sigh as he withdraws his hand.
“You’re so beautiful Maus, so beautiful…” He says as he slowly begins to pull your pants down. He opens the photo app on his phone and begins to take photos of your exposed body, only your panties and bra to cover you.
As he continues to shine a light on you, he pulls your bra down and records himself gently shaking your breast and caressing your nipples until they harden. He leans in and begins to suck on each nipple, making sure it’s all on camera. With his free hand he rubs the erection that is growing in his pants.
Pausing the recording he stands and undoes his belt buckle and then his pants, pulling them down to around his ankles. He releases his aching cock, a bead of precum dripping from the pinkish red tip. He picks back up the phone and points the camera back at you as he jerks off over your body.
His loud pants being picked up on the camera as he stops occasionally to rub your pussy through the fabric of your underwear, feeling a wet spot begin to form, or play with your breast before continuing to pump his fist on his cock.
You remain asleep, completely unaware of what was going on as König kneeled into the bed a little and scooped your drool up with the head of his cock, gently rubbing his tip over your soft lips. He spread your drool around the tip of his cock and used it as a lube for himself. He slapped your lips with his cock twice before gently trying to push it inside of your mouth. He moved his hand from around his cock to your jaw to hold it open as he slid himself in. His breathing shakes as he feels the wet heat of your mouth.
He slowly bucks his hips forward into you as he inches his cock in your mouth little by little. “Ja, that’s my good little Hure.” He moans out, his free hand traveling to your breast and squeezing your breast.
“Oh fuck,” König quickly moves his hand back to his cock as he begins to cum. He pulls out slightly so he can cum on your lips and in your mouth. His breathing heavy and he moans your name. Releasing his full balls completely on to you he smiles at his artwork. He slaps his cock on your lips a few more times before scooping it up with his cock and shoveling it into your mouth, making you eat all of his cum.
König stops recording once he is done and puts the phone down on the bed and he picks his pants back up. He would usually have his fun and drop the girl off somewhere safe, but you… you’re so beautiful. Your tits are perfection and he didn’t even get to try that pussy yet. You’re the type of woman that would never even give him the time of day outside of these circumstances. He’s keeping you. You’re his now.

a/n: anon i love you so much, both of your ideas were so good. i hope you love this. i cut off the second part to gatekeep it till it comes out 💕 also ik in the song, it is the boys fault but i've done a few of those so I wanted this one to be on the reader.
contains: angst, fluff, breakup to makeup, abandonment issues, happy ending, kissing, cussing, 1.3k words
Three Months Ago:
“Okay, whoa. Don’t hit the break that hard. Ease on to it.” Matt says quickly, leaning forward a bit. I roll my eyes at his dramatics. “I barely pressed it, Matt.” I continue circling the parking lot slowly since he refuses to let me go over 5 miles per hour.
When a car enters the parking lot near me, I tense up but Matt jumps in. “You got it. You’re fine. They’re just gonna pass you.” He says, calmly, his hand resting near the steering wheel, just in case he needs to grab it. The car passes me and I relax, smiling over at Matt. “See.” He says, giving me a small smile back but then gesturing back out the window. “Look at the road, babe. Not me.” I snap my eyes away and focus back in.
“Pull into this one right here.” He gestures at a spot a couple of feet away and I turn into it, barely in the lines, and put the car in park. I wince and glance over at him, expecting him to talk shit, but he just smiles. “Not bad, baby. You wanna try to get on the street?” My eyes widen and he laughs and takes off his seatbelt.
“It’s okay. Next time.” He leans over and presses two kisses to my lips before opening his door so we can trade back. He comes around the car and opens the driver’s door, leaning in. “You’re gonna be coming through to pick me up in a second. Just wait.”
*********
I look down at the floor of the DMV and shake my head, trying and failing to push down my thoughts of Matt. Today is probably the hardest day without him I've had since we first broke up two months ago. Two months since I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life and didn’t even have the strength to try and fix it. Every time I think about the look in Matt’s eyes when I told him we were done, I want to crumble. So instead, I try not to think about it at all.
The attendant calls my name sharply and it snaps me out of my impending pity party. I quickly scramble over and take my license from her, muttering a quiet thank you. As I head back to my car, I can’t take my eyes off it. I always thought this moment would be so much bigger but it just feels empty now.
When I get in my car, I drum my fingers on the steering wheel for a second trying to clear my head. I squeeze my eyes shut trying to muster up something resembling self-respect before my heart wins out and I pull out my phone. This is a bad idea. I know it and repeat it to myself as I type Matt’s name into my Instagram search bar.
This has been a hard limit I set with myself, alongside not texting him or his brothers. I don’t stalk his Instagram like some psycho ex. Except apparently, I do today. And god, he looks good. His hair is longer than the last time I saw him, the ends curling up slightly. In his most recent post, he’s got a slight smile as he looks up at the camera but it’s the glint of something around his neck that makes my breath hitch. I scroll to his next post and zoom in to confirm it’s what I think it is and my eyes begin to water. He’s still wearing the necklace I got him on our first Valentine’s Day.
I close my phone and pull down my sun visor, staring into the mirror. Does it mean he still loves me? Do I still have a chance? Or does he just really like that necklace? I shake my head and push the visor up, throwing the car into reverse. It doesn’t matter. If there’s even still a fraction of a chance, I have to try.
*********
This was a mistake. I’m an absolute freak. I’m a loser. Why would I drive to this man’s house like everything’s fine? I put my head in my hands and count to three trying to calm down. I’ve been sitting outside of the triplet’s house for two minutes trying to get my nerve back but with every passing second I feel stupider.
Okay, it’s fine. This is fine. Before I can talk myself out of it anymore, I get out of my car and march up to their door. I knock twice, deciding that if they don’t answer in ten seconds I can run back to my car and pretend this never happened. I get all the way to eight before Chris swings the door open. We stare at each other blankly for a couple of breaths before Chris turns and calls for Matt to come down. He turns back to me, hardening his eyes. But he must see something in my face that makes him take pity because he just sighs before leaning in and whispering a low, “Don’t fuck this up, kid.”
As soon as Matt starts down the stairs, Chris turns and rushes back up, tapping a hand on his brother’s shoulder when he passes him. When he sees me in the doorway, Matt freezes momentarily, recovering quickly and setting his jaw. I take an involuntary step backward at the icy look he gives me as he leans against the door frame.
“Can I help you?” He asks. His voice has way less steel than I expected but the question still guts me. It feels like I’m standing in front of a stranger and not the boy who used to hold me every night.
“I just-” I start, biting down on my bottom lip as I try not to cry. “I got my driver’s license today,” I say lamely. I cringe slightly and he furrows his brow in confusion.
“Okay?”
“I just wanted to tell you that, I guess.”
“Alright. Thanks for the headline.” He says sarcastically.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have come here.” I say, turning to retreat.
“That’s what you’re sorry for?” He demands, clearly angry now. “You’re not sorry for leaving me out of nowhere? For never answering a single one of my messages? For breaking my fucking heart?”
I swallow thickly and nod, stepping closer. “Matt. I’m sorry for all of that. I’m so sorry I hurt you. I promise you that was never my intention. I was just scared.” He laughs bitterly at that and shakes his head.
“No. You don’t get to use that excuse. Everybody’s scared. I was scared. You don’t get to just run when shit gets real.” His voice cracks a bit at the end and he runs his hand over his face. I reach out tentatively and place my hand on his arm. He locks eyes with me at the touch but doesn’t immediately snatch away.
“I wish I could take it back. I wish every day that I had just talked to you. And I understand if you can’t forgive me for that, Matt. I don’t know if I would either. But, I promise if you can, I’ll spend the rest of our lives proving that I’m all in.” His eyes search mine desperately for truth and I hold my breath waiting for his response.
“Tell me that you love me.” He says, quietly.
My heart jumps as fear floods my body. I’ve never said it out loud before. I exhale deeply, letting my eyes trail over his face. “I love you, Matt.” My voice is a little wobbly but I pour as much honesty as I can into those words, hoping he hears what he needs.
He nods, his serious demeanor still in place, and sticks out his pinky finger. I laugh wryly and lock our pinkies, sealing the promise.
Matt pulls me inside of the house and takes my face in his hands, kissing me so intensely that my body leans sideways. He pulls away, pressing another one to my lips quickly and then drawing me into his arms. I wrap myself around his waist, feeling like the weight of the world has been lifted.
“I missed you so much.” Matt’s voice grates against my ear as he kisses behind it. I slip my hands under his shirt before I pull back to look at his face and grin.
“Enough to finally let me drive you on the interstate?” I say hopefully.
“Absolutely fucking not-”

BG3 Characters Safest Driver Headcanons
I've been thinking about that poll from months ago way too much, so I've pulled this from my drafts. In this essay, I will explain why Boo is the best driver. Astarion: Terrible. Absolutely terrible driver. He is doing his makeup with the visor down, looking at the mirror more than the road. Suspend your disbelief, he's driving in this universe. He can use mirrors. ♥ You have to grab the steering wheel, regularly. Without warning, the man twists around to find his purse in the back seat because he wants a different eyeliner than what he grabbed. You are on aux duty. He hates everything you've picked. 2/10, he lawyered his way into that license Gale: You would think he would be safe, but then you remember that Gale didn't pay attention in boring classes. And how hard could driving really be?? The man knows how to drive perfectly textbook. He also thinks he knows how to do it better than everyone else. He does not adapt well to poor drivers. The roads are full of poor drivers. He is yeling "Zipper!" at the merging traffic. You spend five minutes in the parking lot so he can find just the right song for the trip.
6/10, you will probably not die Halsin: The man drives slow, I'm sorry. He's fuel efficient as you can get with the windows down. He pulls over and stops traffic for ducks crossing the road, no matter what the current road conditions are. He stops to show you the new tree the neighbor got. He is a Yellowstone Park tourist. He wants to show you the world, one traffic-stopping mid-road parking job at a time. There is no music, we are listening to nature today. 4/10, you will be rear-ended with him and not the way most people want Jaheira: I stand by what I said last time: Jaheira reminds me of so many older women I know. She drives like she wants someone to start shit with her. She's so conditioned by having 5 kids fighting in the backseat at all times that every time she's behind the wheel she's having Vietnam-level flashbacks. Her blood is pumping in her ears. There is no road, there is only the red of her vision. She won't start the road rage incident directly, but by god, she will end it. (You tried to ask about music, but the look she gave you when asked killed the question.) 5/10, you make it to your destination intact. But at what cost? Your pants are a different color at the end of the trip than they were at the beginning. Karlach: Karlach is talking with her hands while she drives. She's fiddling with the radio constantly. You've blown four red lights. Three of them were the same red light because she took a wrong turn. She will not use GPS, she's got the vibe of where she's going. She was trying to show you something on her phone at the same time. It cannot wait. It was so good you have to see it right now. The tunes are so loud she hasn't heard the sirens behind her. 4/10, the tunes almost make up for it Lae'zel: You are helping her check her mirror distance before you get in the car. You are buckled in before the car even starts. You are not allowed to touch the light in the car if it is dark out. She was taught that it's illegal to have on at night and she takes that shit seriously. You are on blindspot-watching duty at all times. You're not allowed to have music on the in car, it is a distraction. 7/10, we are efficient, but we are miserable Minsc: Minsc cannot drive. Minsc was meant to drive today, but Minsc got into the wrong seat. We are all relieved. Jaheira trained him wrong on purpose and will kill you if you correct him. 0/10, don't even try. He will survive the accident, you will not. Minthara: Minthara, light of my life. She is gremlin cackling and riding bumpers the whole time. People are pulling off constantly to get away from her. You are white-knuckling in the passenger seat and are too afraid to let go of the bitch-bar. You pray her airbags are up to date because your life has not stopped flashing before your eyes since you got onto the road. We are exclusively listening to The Flight of the Valkyries. 7/10, it is shockingly efficient when no one else is on the road anymore
Shadowheart: I have been in many a 'Shadowhearts' car. The car is more of a problem than she is. She drives the type of car that makes people go, "You live like this?" She drives a manual. She was not trained to drive a manual. Almost every single dash light is on, the ones that aren't had their bulbs die out years ago. We don't know how old that trash is, but it lives here now. She has one of those cassette players that has to hook into your phone to come out the speakers. Good luck finding the right adaptor in the mess. 4/10, girl get your shit together Wyll: Wyll is the best driver, hands down...when he is alone. Like all things in his life, his greatest flaw is being too polite. He turns his whole fucking head to look at you when you talk because that is the polite thing to do. The road is secondary to how important your conversation and companionship are to him. And you can't not talk him! He's asking you genuine questions about your day because he's interested. You get to listen to whatever you want and he's totally down for it even if it's not normally his thing. He'll find something he likes about it. Alone: 100/10, he somehow makes everyone better drivers by just being on the road With you: 5/10, Wyll, please, look at the road. ;_;
Boo: My eyes are closed. It's better this way. We made it there in record time. I don't know how it happened. I don't need to know how it happened. ?/10, it's best if you don't think about it

Man of My Dreams - Eddie Munson x Reader
Note: I’m not sure why this formatted oddly, so I apologize.
Summary: When you friends find out you had a dirty dream, they gang up on you to find out who it was about.
Warnings: mentions of sex obviously, language, insecurity, i think that’s it?
Words: 4.5k
Tumblr media
“Ugh, I did not sleep well.” You pull down the passenger seat visor in Nancy’s car and inspect your eyes in the mirror. They look much more alert after rubbing them a few times with the heel of your hand.
“Did you make her sleep on the floor?” Nancy looks at Robin in the rearview mirror, pursing her lips at your friend. Nancy had just picked the two of you up from Robin’s house after you’d spent the night. You were all headed to Steve’s house now, you older gang of teens crashing together for a night of junk food and even junkier movies.
“No, I didn’t! She slept next to me,” Robin says. She looks down and picks at her fingernails, mumbling, “Sounded like you had a good sleep, though.”
It’s the way your face burns from pink to scarlet more than Robin’s comment that catches Nancy’s interest. She smirks at you out of the corner of her eye, and you swear Robin would be dead if there wasn’t a witness sitting right next to you.
“Ooh, what does that mean?” Nancy croons.
“What are you talking about, Robin?” you ask. You sure as hell remembered your dream, but you weren’t aware you vocalized anything to reveal the dirty nature of it.
“Oh, don’t play dumb,” Robin says. “You may not snore, but you sure were making other noises in your sleep.”
As Nancy’s smirk grows, you drop your head into your hands with a groan. Nancy reaches over and jabs her finger in your shoulder.
“Who were you dreaming of, huh?” Nancy asks.
“Not important,” you mumble into your hands.
“I think it is,” Robin chimes up.
           “Why?” you groan out.
“Because we’re your best friends and we’re nosy,” Robin answers.
“Oh, come on,” Nancy says when you shake your head. “It’s not that embarrassing. It’s happened to all of us.”
“Yeah?” you ask, peeking at her from behind your hands. “You slept next to one of your best friends and got caught having a sex dream?”
“Well, no,” Nancy admits. “But we’ve all had a dream like that!”
           “Not me,” Robin says.
You turn around in your seat to glare at her. “Then I hope you have one at the most inconvenient time possible.” She blows a kiss at you, and you wrinkle your nose at her before turning back around.
“Who was it?” Nancy asks again.
“Can’t we just drop it?” You rest your forehead against the cool glass of the window as Nancy pulls into Steve’s driveway. Your stomach was already in knots knowing you were going to see the object of your dream’s desire tonight, and this was making it worse.
“You know I’ll just bring it up in front of the guys,” Robin says.
           “Robin!”
“Oh my God,” Nancy says as she puts the car in park. “Was it about one of them?”
You unclick your seatbelt and shove the car door open. “I hate you both,” you shout at them as you slam the door behind you.
“Should we take that as a yes?” Robin asks. Nancy shrugs at her and they both climb out of the car after you.
Robin jogs to catch up to you and throws her arm over your shoulders. Your finger stabs Steve’s doorbell before you cross your arms over your chest. It wasn’t bad enough that you were completely in love with Eddie – and had been for years – but now you have to endure this from your friends with him in the same house. This wasn’t the first dream you’d had about Eddie in that manner, it just happened to be the first one you were caught having.
The dream floats back to the front of your mind as you wait for the door to open. Eddie’s hands everywhere. His mouth on your throat. His bare chest pressed right up against yours. You roll your shoulders back, knocking Robin’s arm off in the process, as you try to shake the dream back.
The door swings open and Steve greets you three with a smile that makes Robin roll her eyes.
           “Hello, ladies,” he says.
“Stop flirting,” Robin says as she passes by him and into the house.
Steve scoffs and watches Robin as she passes. “I’m not flirting.”
“It’s really only one out of two modes you have,” Robin calls back.
Nancy chuckles and follows in after Robin. Steve turns to look at you and you shrug.
“The other mode is protective, in case you were wondering,” you tell him. You pat him on the shoulder before sliding past him as well.
Music blares from the living room ahead and you feel your palms start to sweat. It’s better than what was wet last night, but you’re trying not to think about that. The blaring guitar notes floating your way can only mean the metal head of your dreams is already here. You were so focused on squabbling with your friends when you arrived that you hadn’t even noticed his van.
“Jesus Christ,” Steve says, walking up behind you. “I leave the room for ten fucking seconds, and he gets to the stereo.”
You giggle as you walk into the room, greeted by the sight of Eddie laying flat on the couch, air drumming to the beating solo at this point in whatever song this is. Steve turns down the volume and Eddie whines in protest. He rolls off the couch in classic Eddie dramatic fashion and pushes himself up to his feet. His face lights up when he sees you and it’s impossible to ignore the fluttering happening several places in your body.
“Finally!” He comes forward and throws his arms around you, tugging your body against his. His warmth seeps into you and you try to fight the blush. No need to give your friends further clues who your little dream was about. “Being here alone with Steve was awful.”
“You’ve been here ten minutes,” Steve says.
“And it was agony,” Eddie assures you, looking you straight in the eyes. You laugh and playfully shove him off you. He smirks and refuses to let you fully leave him, throwing his arm to hang around your neck.
“Where’s the pizza?” Robin asks as she drops down on the couch that Eddie just vacated.
           “On it’s way,” Steve answers.
“What movies did you manage to nab from the store?” Nancy asks.
“You make it sound like I stole from work,” Steve says. “I’ll have you know, I am a model employee.”
“That doesn’t mean you’re an employee who looks like a model,” you say with a smirk.
Steve points his finger at you as he crosses the room towards the television. “I’m taking that as a compliment.”
“Hmm,” Robin hums. “So, she thinks Steve looks like a model.”
She smirks at you, and you narrow your eyes at her. Don’t you mouth to her.
Eddie notices your glare at your friend and frowns.
“What’s going on?” he asks.
Robin raises her eyebrows at you and if looks could kill, Robin would be no more.
“Robin, don’t,” Nancy mumbles to her. But not quiet enough.
“Don’t what?” Steve asks as he goes through the collection of VHS tapes in his lap.
“Nothing.” Robin says it, but it couldn’t possibly sound less convincing.
“Oh, come on.” Eddie jostles your shoulder and pouts. “What’s going on?”
“It’s nothing,” you reiterate to him.
The doorbell rings and you breathe a sigh of relief.
“Get that for me, will you, Robin?” Steve says from the floor.
“I don’t have any money for a tip.”
“Eddie?” Steve asks.
Eddie pats his pockets with his free hand and shrugs. “Coming up empty too, man.”
“I’ve got it,” Nancy says.
“Thank you,” Steve says, pointedly looking at Robin and Eddie as Nancy leaves the room.
“Now what’s going on?” Eddie asks as he shakes you again. Knots tighten in your stomach because you know Eddie, and he’s not going to let it go.
“She just had a weird dream,” Robin says. “That’s all, dude.”
It would’ve been convincing enough to end the conversation, had Steve not kept it going.
“Like a nightmare?”
You open your mouth to answer but no sound comes out. Eddie smirks at your silence, taking it as a confession of some sort.
“Sex dream?” he asks as Nancy walks back into the room, pizza boxes in her arms.
“Robin!” She chides.
You hide your face in your hands as Nancy unintentionally confirms Eddie’s suspicion. The smirk on his face grows and he wraps both arms around you, squeezing you in his embrace.
“Oh, Nance,” you groan.
“What?” she asks innocently as she sets the pizzas down.
“Robin didn’t let that slip. You did,” Steve says with a laugh.
“I what?” Her eyes double in size as she stares at you with dread.
“Yep,” Eddie confirms as he keeps his tight grip on you. “Thank you for affirming that our innocent little friend over here had a dirty dream. Now, if you could tell us about who, I know I’d really appreciate it.”
Your face burns red, and you try to push yourself out of Eddie’s arms, to no avail. He chuckles and pulls you against his chest, laying his head on top of yours.
“Oh God, I am so sorry,” Nancy says. “And I don’t know, Eddie. But I wouldn’t tell you if I did.”
“Party pooper,” Steve complains.
“Can we eat?” you mumble against Eddie’s chest. “And just let this go? Please?”
Eddie pulls back so he can look down at you.
“You really think it’s possible for me to let it go?” he asks, raising his eyebrows.
“For me?” You pout, face still like a tomato.
“Sorry, sweetheart. Not even for you.” He presses a kiss to the top of your head, and you take advantage of his distraction to slip out of his arms.
You back up into Steve’s chest though, as he’d come up behind you. He wraps his arms around your shoulders, and you groan again. You drop your head back against his shoulder and he rocks you from side to side.
“You’re stuck with us, babe,” Steve says. “You might as well tell us and get it over with.”
The friendship you have with both guys is amazing. You love how close you are with them, and how your whole gang is able to tease and mess with each other on a daily basis. But in the rare times like this, where the two bros ganged up on you, it was mentally exhausting.
“I think I’ll walk home,” you say.
“Oh, come on,” Robin says. “We’re all friends here. Tell us who.”
In your head, you add Robin to your shit list.
“Mr. Evans?” Steve asks. “Half the girls at school have a crush on him.”
“Ew, no,” you deny. It was a mistake, because now you’re engaged in this conversation about who it is.
“Why is this so embarrassing for girls?” Steve asks. “I’ll sit here and tell you all the girls I’ve had sex dreams about.”
“Thank you, Steve, but we’d all like to keep our appetites tonight,” Robin says.
“And we’d all like to get out of here before morning,” Eddie adds.
Managing to slip out of Steve’s grip, you walk over to Nancy and stand behind her. She’s too small to hide you behind her frame, but she’s the only one you feel is on your side.
“You’re the only one I like,” you mumble in her ear.
“I’m so sorry,” she reiterates to you quietly.
“It’s okay,” you assure her. You know she never would’ve done it on purpose.
“Kevin Sanders?” Robin asks. “Because I think he likes you.”
“Ugh, you can do so much better than him,” Eddie says.
“No,” you say. Figuring this would go on for a while, you slink over to the couch opposite Robin and plop down on it.
“At least narrow it down for us,” Steve says.
“Why would I do that?” you snap back.
“Because you love us?” Eddie gives you his best puppy dog eyes and you have to avert his gaze.
“Nancy had an interesting theory in the car,” Robin says. You roll onto your stomach and hide your face in the cushions as she continues. “She thought it might’ve been about one of you guys.”
“Really?” Steve drawls. You don’t have to look at either of the guys to know they have matching self-satisfied smirks on their faces.
“I hate you all,” you call loud enough for them to hear over your face smooshed against the soft material.
Eddie’s boots clomp over to you, and he plops down on the floor in front of you.
“Sweetheart, come on,” he says. “We’re all just joking with you.”
“Are we?” Steve asks, followed by a huff of pain. Hopefully from Nancy hitting him.
“The pizza’s going to get cold,” Nancy says. “Come on, guys.”
Cardboard is shuffled around, and you hear your friends taking slices out. Except Eddie. He’s still sitting on the floor next to you. You turn your head to peak at him and he’s smiling at you. Your face flushes again as your stomach twists in excitement.
“Alright,” you hear Steve through a mouth full of pizza. “We’ve got Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Blow Out. Jesus Robin, are these all John Travolta movies?”
“I may have been bribed,” Robin answers. From where you’re laying you can see her give a pointed look to Nancy, who shrugs and gives her best innocent look.
“At least it’s not Tom Cruise again,” Steve mutters.
“Grease is a musical, but what are the others?” Robin asks.
“Saturday Night Fever is dancing. Other than that, I have no idea,” Steve says. “And it looks like Blow Out is a thriller or slasher kind of flick.”
“Slasher,” you and Eddie vote at the same time. He smirks and gives you a wink, causing the twisting of your stomach to increase tenfold.
“I’m inclined to agree,” Robin says.
“Sound good, Nance?” Steve asks.
“John Travolta is in it, so it sounds good to me,” she answers.
Steve pops the tape in the VHS player, while Eddie stands and wraps his arms around your middle. He yanks upward and you flail against his grip, unable to help the laugh that comes out. He manages to scoop you up and slide underneath you, placing you down on his lap. You huff but relax back against him anyway.
“Pizza?” Nancy asks you.
“Yes, please,” you say.
Nancy puts a slice on a plate for you and one for Eddie. She hands them to you before sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table to enjoy her own piece. Eddie rests his plate on your thighs and folds up the slice, shoving half of it in his mouth in one bite. Steve presses play before going to sit next to Robin on the couch.
You take a bite of your pizza, but your jaw stops mid-bite as you hear moaning come from the television. Your head shoots up to see scantily clad girls in lingerie, before the screen flickers to a full-on sex scene. Steve and Robin snicker across the room and you look to see them both watching you. You groan and drop your plate in your lap, knocking into Eddie’s. Face in your hands, you turn to roll off Eddie’s lap. He grips you around the waist to hold you securely on top of him.
“I hate them,” you mumble to Eddie. He laughs softly in your ear, but it’s slightly mocking. You reach back and smack his chest. “You too.”
“Aww, princess,” Eddie says. The nickname only spurs you further along and you try to escape his clutches. He’s too strong though, and keeps you pressed against him. “You know you can make this end.”
“Yeah,” Robin echoes from the other couch. “All you gotta do is give us a name.”
“With friends like you guys, who needs enemies?” you ask.
“So, was your dream like this?” Steve asks, pointing to the scene in the movie.
“Alright, Steve,” you say. It’s easier to fight back with him, since he isn’t the one your dream was about. “You wanna know?”
“I do,” he says, raising his eyebrows at you.
“Fine. Come with me.” You stand up out of Eddie’s lap, leaving him frowning behind you.
“What?” Eddie asks.
“Why does he get to know?” Robin asks.
Instead of answering anyone, you march over to the sliding glass door and glide it open. Steve’s right on your heels as you step outside. He closes the door behind you as you keep stalking forward.
“You’re not going to push me in the pool, are you?” he asks.
You spin around to face him, crossing your arms over your chest.
“You guys really aren’t going to let up, are you?” you ask.
“What’s the big deal?” Steve asks, putting his hands on his hips. “Just tell us.”
“Because he’s in there,” you snap. “And I’ve been in love with him for years.”
Steve’s face falls as he realizes this wasn’t fun and games to you like it was for them.
“Shit,” he says, hands sliding off hips. “I didn’t know.”
“That’s kind of the point of a secret,” you say.
He sighs and runs his hands over his face. He takes a step forward and opens his arms to you to offer a hug. You step into his embrace and bury your head in his neck.
“I’m sorry,” he says.
“S’okay,” you mumble against him. “Figured I’d tell you because you can make the rest of them shut up.”
“I’ll do my best,” he says. “Although Nancy is scarier than me.”
“True,” you agree with a chuckle.
“Come on,” Steve says. He presses a kiss to the side of your head and pulls back. “Pizza is going to get cold.”
Steve leads you back inside, retaking his spot next to Robin. You sit down next to Eddie and the eyes of the room are going back and forth between you and Steve. Both of you ignore them until Robin smacks Steve in the chest.
“Ow?”
“Well?” she asks.
“Just let it go, okay?” he says.
Robin frowns and looks over at you, but you don’t take your eyes off your plate. The awkwardness lasts for a few minutes before there’s an uptick in action in the movie. As everyone becomes more and more immersed in the film, the conversation starts up again, revolving around the mystery being laid out.
Pizza’s mostly gone, and leftovers are cold when the movie ends. Most of you are satisfied, but Robin keeps huffing in annoyance.
“Next time I’m picking the musical,” she says.
“Warning, Steve and y/n will duet the songs the whole time,” Nancy says.
“Hey,” Steve says.
“What? She’s right,” you say. Steve shrugs noncommittally and you chuckle.
Eddie’s brow is pinched, and you nudge him with your elbow.
“You okay?”
“Hmm?” He looks at you and shakes his head. “Yeah, I’m good. Do you want me to drive you back to your house?”
“Sure,” you say. Not only would you take any chance to be around Eddie, but your home was closer to his place than Nancy’s anyway.
Steve assures the rest of you that you don’t have to clean up, that he’s got it covered, and everyone can head out. As you say goodbye, Steve gives you an extra tight hug and you smile at him gratefully. Eddie slings his arm over your shoulders as soon as you pull away from Steve, and he leads you to his van.
You hop up in the passenger seat and Eddie starts the engine, turning up the heat to get the biting chill out of the van. He pulls out of Steve’s driveway and heads down the dark and quiet road. Music plays softly over the speakers, but it isn’t usual for Eddie to be this quiet.
“What’s wrong, Ed?”
“Nothing,” he says. It sounds rehearsed though.
“You think I buy that?” you ask. “We’re like best friends.”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought,” he mumbles, almost too low for you to hear. But not quite.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
He sighs and shakes his head. “Nothing. Forget it.”
“You really think I’m gonna do that?” You raise your eyebrows at him.
He shifts in his seat, tightening his grip on the steering wheel. Your street comes into view and Eddie takes the turn so fast it feels like the van rocked onto just two wheels.
“Jesus, Eddie!”
The van screeches into your driveway and he kills the ignition. You stare at him as he keeps his focus straight on your house in front of you. He rolls his shoulders back and his leather jacket creeks in protest.
“I’m being a jealous asshole.”
His words are so unexpected that you’re not sure if he’s done speaking or not. When he doesn’t elaborate, you venture forward.
“What do you mean?” you ask.
“You talked to Steve instead of me.”
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, you take a few deep breaths before replying.
“Is this really about that stupid dream?” you ask.
“No,” he says with a huff. “I mean…no, not really. It’s just, you brought Steve outside to talk about it. I thought we were closer.”
He shrugs and looks down at his hands on the steering wheel. His voice had gotten quieter as the sentence wound down. It ended with him sounding small and vulnerable.
“Eddie.”
You don’t know what to say after that though. That the reason you told Steve about your sex dream was because the dream was about having sex with Eddie? You’d rather have him feeling a bit jealous than never wanting to speak to you again.
When you don’t continue speaking, he looks over at you from the corner of his eye. You reach over to place your hand on his arm, not knowing what else to do.
“You and I are closer than Steve and I are. But maybe that’s why I didn’t want to tell you. Have you ever felt it easier to tell someone something that you weren’t as close to?”
Eddie turns to fully face you, face furrowed in thought.
“No.”
His deadpan response makes you laugh. You drop your head forward and a smile cracks on his face.
“You’re always so honest with me,” you say.
“Pretty much,” he says with a shrug.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you take a deep breath. It’s true. There’s not a time Eddie wasn’t honest with you. To the point of embarrassment on multiple occasions.
“Okay,” you say on an exhale. “I’ll tell you. But it’s embarrassing.”
Eddie leans forward, elbows resting on the center console. He dips his chin and raises his eyebrows at you.
“Would it help if I tell you my most embarrassing sex dream?”
You purse your lips in thought, though you both already know the answer.
“Duh.”
“Okay,” he says through a deep breath. “You want to know why, besides the obvious, I hate going to the school library?”
He looks at you expectantly for a moment before your jaw drops and your eyes widen.
“Mrs. Brady? Eddie!” You cover your face with your hands to smother your giggles. It takes a couple of seconds for you to recover enough to continue speaking. “Eddie! She’s like eighty!”
“I know!” He throws his hands in the air. “It’s not like I could help it, though. You can’t help what you dream about. Which leads us back to…” He gestures to you with a dramatic flourish.
With a deep breath, you nod your head.
“Okay. Well. At least it’s someone my age,” you say with a smirk. Eddie rolls his eyes and gently pushes you against the passenger door. You throw a crumbled-up receipt at him before continuing. “It was you, you doofus.”
“Me?” His voice raises three octaves and his eyebrows jettison into his hair.
“Yes,” you say, cheeks flaring. “Now do you understand why I didn’t tell you?”
“Well shit, sweetheart,” Eddie says with a smirk. It didn’t take him long to recover from his surprise, usual charm and charisma back in place. “Nothing to be embarrassed of there.”
“Oh, no?” you ask, arching an eyebrow at him.
“Do you know how many dreams I’ve had about you like that?”
“Me?” It’s your turn to have your voice become a different decibel.
“Yeah, you. Look at you,” he says, gesturing to you. “You’re fucking gorgeous.”
Your eyes drop to your lap, and you bite your lip to hide your grin. The burn travels up to the tips of your ears and you don’t remember the last time you felt so warm or your tummy all buzzy.
“You could’ve just told me,” Eddie says, reaching over to tilt your chin up. “I’m flattered, really. Never thought someone like you would think about me that way. Even if it came from your subconscious.”
“Someone like me?” you ask with a frown.
“Yeah, like…way out of my league,” he says.
Your frown deepens as you lean forward and press your forehead against his.
“I don’t want to ever hear you say something like that again,” you say.
“It’s true, though,” he whispers, suddenly feeling vulnerable. “You’re practically the perfect girl.”
“Hush,” you tell him as you reach up to cup his face in your hands. “Number one, you know you and I are both nerds on the same level. And you’re gorgeous, so jot that down. There’s no one out of your league, Eddie.”
He gives you a soft smile and presses his nose against yours. “You always make me feel better.”
“Yeah?” you ask. You trail your thumbs along his cheekbones, and he shudders gently under your touch.
“You drive me crazy, you know that?” Eddie whispers to you.
You close your eyes for a moment and take a deep breath.
“The feeling is very mutual, Munson.”
“Yeah?” he asks.
Reluctantly, you pull your face away from his to look up at your house.
“My parents are still away, you know,” you say. “If you want to come in?”
“Oh yeah?” he looks at you skeptically.
“Mhmm,” you hum. “Maybe I could show you what happened in my dream?”
Eddie’s eyes widen and you swear you’ve never seen him this speechless before. It makes you giggle despite the nerves rocking through your body.
“That sounds good,” he says. His pupils are blown wide open and the way he tries to make his voice sound calmer gives you all the assurance you need. You lean in and press a soft kiss to his lips. You mean for it to be quick, but as you go to pull away, Eddie cups the back of your head and sinks in against your mouth.
Just as you’re about to wrap your arms around his neck, he pulls back to whisper against your lips.
“I really hope you dreamt me cuddling the shit out of you afterwards, because that’s definitely happening.”

I need a smutty fic based on this photo
!! logan weekend requests are now closed !!
warnings: !! CONTAINS SMUT, MINORS DNI !! unprotected p in v
dear god that photo is hot, also this is the last blurb for logan weekend, regularly scheduled writing will continue tomorrow
Logan felt like he could finally breathe again after signing his Williams contract extension. He hated that he was the last driver to be signed for the next season, but was relieved when he was asked to come back for another year.
You leapt into his arms when he told you, pressing kisses all over his face. “I’m so so so proud of you Lo, you deserve that seat.” You tell him in between kisses.
You spend the night doting on him, making him his favorite meal, watching his favorite show, you do everything you can to make him feel good, all leading up to where you currently have him laying down on your bed as you kiss him, grinding your hips against his.
You pull his shirt off of him and let your hands run down his chest. You trace his v line then fiddle with the waistband of his jeans. He nudges your thigh, and tugs his pants and boxers off as you take your clothes off.
Your eyes spot his blue helmet sitting on the shelf against the wall. You turn back to your boyfriend with a small smile on your face.
“What?” He asks, as he lays back down on the bed.
You walk over to the shelf and pick the helmet up, examining it in your hands. The smooth carbon fiber is cool against your skin.
“Will you wear it?” You ask Logan.
“Wear it?” He laughs. “You want me to wear my helmet while we have sex? Do you think I’m going to get a head injury?” His tone is teasing.
“No. I want you to wear it while I ride you. Some girls wanna ride a Ferrari, but I want to ride a Williams.” You say holding up the helmet that brandishes the Williams team logo.
He stares at you silently, his mouth hanging open. You take his silence as an answer. You shake your head, putting the helmet back on the shelf.
“I’m sorry, it was a stupid idea.”
“Give me the helmet.” Logan holds his hands out.
You take the helmet and slowly place it in his hands. He gives you a smirk before pulling it over his head. He flips the visor down, then lays back with his hands behind his head.
“Come on. You wanted to ride a Williams.” He says. His voice is a little muffled from the helmet, but god it’s so hot.
You climb on top of him and slowly sink yourself down onto his cock, taking him inch by inch. You sigh when you’re fully seated on him and look down at him. He’s unmoving, clearly not planning on helping you do any of the work.
You slowly lift yourself up and down his cock. It feels different, more intense than usual, the fact that you can’t see his face adds a new type of thrill.
He watches from behind the visor as you ride him. He watches as you drop a hand down to play with your clit, and feels you getting tighter around him.
It’s getting harder to see, the visor fogging up from his warm breaths. He knows you’re close, as is he, so he uses a hand to lift the visor up.
You see the green eyes that you fell in love with just as you reach your peak. You ride him through your orgasm, coaxing one out of him too.
He pulls the helmet off as you lift yourself off of him. He drops the helmet to the floor next to the bed, deciding he’d rather put it back on the shelf tomorrow and just hold you close right now.
He does, tracing lazy patterns on your back as you do the same on his chest.
“Did you like that?” You ask him softly.
“Oh, we are definitely doing that again.” He laughs.

After Trevor texted you inviting you golfing. You got up from your bed quickly pulling your hair up into a claw clip. You headed over to your dresser pulling out a white golf skirt. You slipped it on heading over to your closet pulling out your grey nike tee. You slipped that on as well heading to that bathroom.
You threw on some light make-up and then brushed out your hair pulling it into a pony. You grabbed your visor and sun glasses heading to the living space to grab you keys.
You hoped in your car heading over to the valley club.
You pulled in beside a black range rover, the car Trevor told you he would be pulling up into the club with.
You hopped out of your car opening the trunk looking over to see the boys doing the same.
"Hey," Trevor greeted pulling you into a hug.
"Hey Trev! How have you been doing?" You asked with a smile on your face as you pulled back from the hug.
"Been doing great! Glad to be back in Michigan though," He smiled. You and Trevor had been friends for years. Playing golf together being one of your favorite past times.
Jack soon ran over pulling you into a hug greeting you. You greeted the rest of the boys, your eyes landing on one you hadn't met before.
"Hey, I'm y/n it's nice to meet you!" You greeted, as you pulled your clubs out of your car.
"I- uhm hey, It's nice to meet you!" The boy spoke as he cheeks flushed a pale shade of pink.
You smiled, "Your name?"
"Oh right, Luke," He spoke smiling back at you his cheeks continuing to blush.
You shook your head, heading over to Trevor and Jack.
"Seems, like my little brother has a crush on you," Jack laughed as you sat beside Trevor on the Cart.
"He's cute," You shrugged.
"Please dear god play with the little shits head," Trevor spoke laughing," We haven't beat him in weeks."
"Oh, game on, but I'll be winning," You smiled over at the boy.
-
As you drove up to the final hole, Luke was beating you only by 1. You decided now was you chance to win.
As he stood set preparing to send the ball off.
"You gonna hit the ball pretty boy?" You smirked as you leaned agains the golf cart.
You could see Lukes face flush, his eyes going wide, his cheeks now red.
He hit shook it away lining his shot, missing by a landslide.
Jack walked up to his brother asa you set up your shot.
"Look's like you have a little crushy crush," Jack teased his younger brother.
"I do not," He defended.
-
As you all made your way back to the cars, Jack invited you to come to the Lake house for a boat ride, dinner, and bonfire. You agreed.
Trevor and Jack were giggling as they walked over to the back of the truck.
"Lukey, you don't mind driving with y/n do you? The cars a little cramped," Jack said patting his brother on the back.
"I- uhm," He attempted but couldn't so he just nodded.
You smiled at the conversation closing the trunk as you walked over to the drivers side.
Luke got into the passenger side.
"I'm stopping at my apartment first," You informed, " loosen up Luke, I don't bite, unless you ask me too," You smirked looking over at the boy.
His cheeks flashing shades of pink for the third time today.
"Your cute when your flustered," You smiled over at him as you pulled into your parking spot.
"You wanna come in?" You asked to which he nodded following you up to your apartment.
You entered your room as Luke waited in the living area. You quickly changed into some more comfortable clothes before grabbing your back packing some extra clothes. You had your bikini on underneath your outfit.
You exited your room, "You okay?"
"Yeah, you're just really pretty," He smiled over at you.
"thank you, Luke," You smiled back.
"Can I take you out to dinner? before I head back to New Jersey?"
"I think that would be really nice," You smiled.

The winter vacation wraps around and you're the only one at the office or... this is what you thought. Sukuna, your most gruffy co-worker is here too. You're not really surprised, the whole office is away in their family and him. Well, he doesn't really look like a family kind of guy. In your case you simply don't want to see your family and these weeks where everybody is away are very slow so it's a vacation itself. For the three years that you worked here you've been doing this, but you were always alone... When you came in and Sukuna was sitting on his desk you froze. He glanced at you before returning his focus to his monitor. You made your way to your desk, which is right next to his and you greeted him lightly. He didn't answer back of course, why would he ? You sheepishly sat next to him, scared to make any noise that would get on his nerves.
The morning rolls around without a word being exchanged, the area is filled with keyboard and mouse noises, it feels awkward to the point you apologized when your pen fell on the ground interrupting the silence. He let out another sigh not even bothering looking your way. You drowned in embarrassment and resumed your task. When lunch break comes you decide to take matters in your hands. You can not possibly spend a week with him in complete awkward silence.
"Sukuna, do you want to have lunch with me? I mean since there's only us and there's this new place i want to try, so feel free to join, i mean if you want to of course i'm not forcing you or anything" you say laughing nervously. Thinking about it, it's probably the longest sentence you ever said to him, he must think you stupid stumbling over your words like that. Without a word he got up and put his coat on. Well at least you tried. Laying back in your chair defeated when his voice interrupts you.
"So are you getting up or do you expect me to deliver your food?" His voice is deep, and he's looking at you now, the shade of his eyes is so unique you want to get lost in it, but he words hit you now. Is that a yes? Did he actually agree? You instantly rise from your seat grabbing your purse and coat rushing to the elevator.
To no one's surprise you did most of the talking during lunch, he actively listened and answered from time to time. You learned he has a cat named Uraume but when you asked for pictures of it he told you he didn't have any in his phone. What type of cat owner does that ? You proudly did a slideshow of your own cat, he told you he was fat and you just shut him off. Once back at the office, the atmosphere is way more light, you can finally relax. Thanks to you working the problem out, the afternoon went fast. At 16:57 you're turning off the computer and packing your things.
"It's 3 minutes early," his deep voice warns. You scoff "Sue me please" When you walk past him you notice his monitor already turned off. He was playing on his phone.
"Oh you're scandalous, picking on me when you're not even working."
He laughs a bit, a deep gravelly song coming from his chest. You blush thinking that it's attractive before you make your way to the elevator. The two of you are making the long way down to the parking lot. and you engage conversation once again.
"So do you drive here ?"
"Yeah I have a bike"
"Oh that's why your thighs so muscular" you nod your head.
He looks at you curiously,a sly smirk in the corner of his mouth before he raises a helmet, one with a shade visor. Of course he rides a motorbike, for god's sake this man has tattoos all over his face and lord knows elsewhere. Why would he pedal to work every morning? You close your eyes realising that you probably sound like an idiot and a pervert at the same time. The elevator dings saving you from an awkward interaction, you bid your farewell quickly rushing to hide in your car.
The next morning you stand awkwardly in front of the open space, thinking about how embarrassing the whole day is going to be, but you can't back down. You also wonder why he's here, you're dying to ask him. HR asked you to be here during this beat weak because she knows you don't care about this holiday particularly and also because she waiting for some late christmas gift that are to be delivered at the office. Most people would think that this is abuse but you both agreed that she would raise your rate during this week, so easy money. But why would he be here? Is it the same for him ?
"You're blocking the way" Sukuna's deep voice snaps you out of your reverie. You turn around pushing on his (very firm) chest.
"Did you just call me fat ?" you say rushing to your desk, feeling embarrassed to see him again.
You hear him chuckle behind you and your ears get hot. You're sitting at your desk while he slowly unpack his belongings, with a smile on the corner of his lips. You roll your eyes, focusing your attention on your computer. You've been debating with yourself all morning whether to ask him or not about his presence. You steal glances in his way from time to time. Until he finally snaps, dragging your chair in front of him, encasing your knees with his own.
"Tell me what's wrong before I bite you." he grits through his teeth. You gasp in shock feeling your cheeks heat up. You wonder how his teeth would feel on your flesh, but right now is not the time you're about to have your much wanted answer.
"Why are you here?" "I have a deal with HR but what about you ?" you blurt out feeling stupid saying it out loud.
His eyes squint looking at you "That's what you want to know? This is why you've  been fidgeting all morning ?" You nod your head avoiding his gaze.
"Well you're not the only one with a secret deal here" He says with a serious expression letting go of your knees.
Your mouth opens a bit, so this is what it is ? You rack your brain thinking what Sukuna's one could be. And then it clicks.
"Oh my god she asked you to spy on me!! I knew it she doesn't trust me, you know she's really a bitch bec-"
Your sentence is interrupted by Sukuna ripping your shirt open, He gives you a stern look at the fact that you're not wearing a bra and dip his face between your tits he licks and bites at your skin, and you can't help but moan.
"What the hell are you doing?" you say pushing on his head
"You talk too much, and I could see your damn nipples from my fucking seat" Your face heat at his remark, you never bother to wear one when you'e alone at the office, but you not really are this time. Before you can answer he cuts you off.
"Do you want this ?" he says, biting at your skin, never breaking eye contact.
You bite your lip and nod. A wolfish grin spreads across his face as he pushes his head in your chest once again. Sukuna takes one of your tits in his mouth nursing it while he groans. He's kneeling on the floor between your legs and none of it seems real to you. How the broody scary guy is now worshipping you ? It doesn't really matter when you haven't been touched in so long, sure you know how to satisfy yourself but his warm hands on your hips and the flick of his tongue feels amazing at the moment. Locking your legs behind his back you let your head fall backward in pleasure.
Sukuna alternate his sweet torture between both your breasts and you're a moaning mess, eyes shut closed, you grind against the chair. Soon enough you can't take it anymore, needing to touch him too, you break his hold on you.
"Let me suck your cock" you purr out loud. His eyes go wide a bit, but he quickly gets on his feet unbuckling his belt, letting his pants slide off his thighs. It's your turn to kneel before him. The heel you're wearing allows you to be at his crotch level while staying balanced. The bulge in his boxer makes your mouth water, you plant kisses over it, getting rid of the last piece of clothes separating you from the object of your desire. His cock spring free slapping against his lower abdomen, it's already so hard, your lips part in awe. Taking his length in your hand, you stroke it a few times before putting it in your mouth. Sukuna grunts at the warmth of your wet mouth.
"I didn't know you were such a dirty girl" he chuckles, running one of his hands in your hair.
You moan at his words, slobbering all over his cock while you take more and more of his member in your mouth. His girth is impressive and you feel a familiar tingle in your pussy, the situation excites you so much, having sex in your workplace has always been your dream but you never thought it would literally happen at your desk. One of your hands snakes under your tights to touch yourself, you collect arousal from your entrance to rub at your clit.Pleasuring yourself, you moan around his cock, sending vibration to it. Sukuna hiss at the sensation guiding your head even deeper on his dick. You choke a bit propping your free hand on his thigh to warn him.
"Put your fingers inside" he grunt looking at your hand that is buried between your thighs
You happily oblige, curling them in a way you like, you hump against your own hand still wanting to feel your pressure on your clitoris.
"You sure know how to pleasure yourself, huh? little pervert." he taunts.
You nod your head looking him in the eyes. His precum and your drool are mixing on your chin, he's close and you hollow your cheeks to make him crumble faster. He moans behind his teeth and with a few more strokes his seed fills your mouth, you swallow it all to the last drop. You free his cock from the confine of your mouth out of breath. Sukuna let himself fall against the chair laughing off his high, one of his hands arms covering his eyes. Feeling hungrier than ever you straddle him sliding his now limp cock inside of you as you lock your arms behind the headrest.  He looks at you with shock in his eyes, you smile at him.
"Don't worry I'll go slow. I want to feel you get hard inside of me."  you say in a sweet voice.
He scoffs not believing how dirty you really are, it's the first time for him to be with a woman this deciding. You wanted to suck his cock and now you're riding him. He doesn't hate it, he's just not used to it. He captures your lips with his own, tasting himself on your tongue. You go up and down a few times and can already feel his cock harden inside your cunt. You moan in the kiss boucing on his cock harder and harder. Suddenly Sukuna pushes you off him, spinning you around, placing both your hands flat on the desk. You chuckle knowing where he wants this to go, you hike one of your knees on the desk spreading your holes with your hands.
"You want me like that don't you?" you giggle looking back at him, your cheek is flush against the desk.
He fist himself angrily a few times before entering his whole length inside of you.
"Oh fuck" you moan out loud at the force he did it with.
He wastes no time ramming into you grunting like a beast, his roughness fills your every need and you let your voice fill the space with a loud moan. The desk rocks under his powerful thrust, his cock hits your spongy spot and you feel the pleasure rise inside of you, you didn't cum on your finger wanting to do so on his cock.
"I'm going to fill your cunt this time" he grunts
"Please Sukuna, Yes!" you cry mouth wide open
His grip on your hips keeps you in place as he never slows down his pace, you can only take and take while he pistons inside of you.
" S-sukuna" you stutter, feeling your orgasm approaching.
He slows his pace giving hard thrusts to fuck you as far as possible, you cum undone shaking over your desk. Your walls tighten around him and he hiss fucking into you until he cums deep inside of you. Both your heavy breaths fill the silence, Sukuna slowly pulls out of you grunting at the sight of his spunk leaking out of your pussy to the desk and finally on the floor. Quickly taking his phone from the pocket of his pants he snaps a picture the clicking noise makes you open your eyes.
"Hey!" you scold him "Send it to me" you whisper. A deep laugh escapes him and he sits back down on the chair easing you on his cock. you furrow your brows not ready for another round yet but he shuts you off.
"Just keeping it warm" he wink at you. You chuckle letting your head rest on his shoulder and you close your eyes. After a moment Sukuna breaks the silence.
"I want to try something new" he state
"You can fuck my ass later i just need to rest a bit" you mutter agaisnt his skin
"I was talking about lunch" he coos
You're way too tired to feel the shame take over you so you just laugh.
"I can't exactly go out since you ripped my shirt" you bite his skin
"I'll go buy you one, get cleaned up, i'll bring food too" he says spanking your ass.
You laugh, haven't even noticed lunch break has ended more than an hour ago.

Tingly.
That’s the state of my body this morning, the state of my mind.
Not only am I riding an emotional high from our conversation this weekend, but my dream last night… Good lord, that dream.
I can feel the echoes of his fingers on my skin, the coolness of his lips, the wet trail they would’ve left behind… the solid weight of what surely his body would feel like, pressed against mine. I can imagine all of what it would be like vividly, to be under him, to get carried away, to just explore-
“You alright, darlin’?”
His voice jolts me from the day dreaming stare I had on the locker before me, caught red handed. To make matters worse, that deep southern tenor questioned me inches from my ear, causing a blush to heat my cheeks to an almost uncomfortable degree.
“Perfectly fine, why?” I immediately busy myself within my locker so that I don’t have to face him right away.
“You do remember that I can feel you, right?” His voice is low and his hands find my hips tenderly, but the air changes around us.
My heart rate skyrockets, this is dangerous. His fingers flex against me and the death grip I have on this book in my hands turns my knuckles white.
“Jasper-” his name is a whispered warning, but also a plea.
“I know.” Instantly a cooling, soothing balm blankets our tension and I release the tightness in my chest. Leaning backwards into him I just feel tired all of a sudden, like I had run a marathon. “Let’s get out of here.”
His request sounds more like a demand and I twist in his arms, “Is that a good idea?”
“Darlin’, I don’t have many of those these days.” His mouth quirks up in a lopsided grin as he shoves all of my school supplies back in my locker, shutting it and tugging me along behind him towards the student parking lot.

Jasper
Something is on her mind, something dangerous. Something I absolutely want to know, something I’m not sure I have the strength for, but I can’t help it - it’s her.
I’ve never been more thankful for an overcast day with no rain: perfect motorcycle weather. Come to think of it, my sister had a knowing look in her eyes as my siblings all piled into their respective vehicles as I straddled my bike this morning. A decision that currently led me to now: Y/n and I leaving school before midday.
Those thoughts I interrupted earlier have her quiet, but her emotions are raging and it is driving me insane. Curiosity, need, nervousness - a dangerous concoction begging to overtake my rational mind. Separating myself from her feelings is almost impossible at this point, she is so well ingrained in me.
Finally arriving at my thankfully empty home, I shut my motorcycle off and offer a steady hand to help her dismount. Swinging my own leg over, I turn towards her and lean against it, observing her for a moment with crossed arms.
“What?” She makes eye contact as she struggles with the chin strap of my helmet.
Grabbing the helmet by the chin piece, I gently tug her forward between my legs, “Tell me.” I lace the command with neediness to encourage her to be pliant.
And judging by the way her lips part behind the dark visor, the immediate dilation of her eyes, and the weight of her hands settling on my thighs gently, I might’ve laid it on a little too thick.
Chuckling, I free her from my helmet and riding jacket. By the time I finish, she seems to snap from the daze and her hands clench on top of my legs.
“Not fair, Hale.” Feisty this morning.
I lean forward towards her ear with a grin as I stand from my bike to put away the gear, “All’s fair in love and war, sweetheart.”
Reaching to swat my chest, I grab her hand gently before she could injure herself.
Pausing as I hang my jacket up, her teasing response sends excitement through me, “Two can play at that game, baby.”
Tumblr media
Stepping into my room, I realize too late what has her curiosity: my desk. Well, the art that occupies every inch, my art.
“What is all this?” Leafing through pencil sketches of my favorite hunting spots and pen etchings of my family at random moments, she gets to the important ones hidden below. Her breathing hitches and I know she’s found them, the ones of her.
Some are in pencil, some are in random felt-tip pens, but my favorites? Those are charcoal. A decently basic medium, but I feel like it captures so much more than anything else ever could. Maybe it’s because I use my fingers to smudge and shape her perfect curves and lines, but it radiates emotion in sweeping gestures and subtle shading - something that’s hard to capture with anything else.
“There’s-” awe, shock, surprise, they all shuffle through her and I’m on edge, waiting to hear her thoughts. “There’s so many…”
I watch her carefully examine each one and I smile when she chuckles at a few - some of her at school, some of her here in my home, moments I not only committed to memory, but to paper.
“Now you know what I do with my free time.” I smile through the minuscule anxiety that bubbles up at her seeing my secret hobby. Everyone in my family knows I draw, but they haven’t seen my drawings.
“Jasper…” I can tell she’s getting emotional, but a part of me is excited for her to see my innermost thoughts on paper, to see herself through my eyes - the unaltered beauty she contains.
“You haven’t even seen the ones I cherish the most.” Opening a familiar sketchbook buried under many other drawings, I reveal my favorites. “The very first ones.”
Her breath hitches, running a reverent finger down the first page. It’s the very first moment I saw her, crouched, scooping up papers on her first day of high school in Forks - absolutely radiant.
“You were a vision that day. A beautiful tornado that wrecked my world, I tried to capture every detail from memory because I never want to forget-”
Her hand finding my cheek breaks me from my explanation and my eyes find her watery ones, mouth open, searching for words clearly hard to get out, “Jasper…”
“I love you.” My confession steals her breath completely this time, the first time I’ve uttered these words aloud and it feels absolutely right. “I’ve loved you since the moment you hit me with that door. I knew I was absolutely ruined for anyone else and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Tilting her chin up with the tip of my finger as it wobbles at my confession, I smile, “Say something, darlin’.”
“I love you, too.” Now it’s my turn to go wholly still. “I knew from the moment I saw you I’d never be the same, I was yours-”
I couldn’t wait another second, I closed the minuscule gap between our mouths to seal these confessions. I love her and she loves me. Me.
Tilting her head back slightly as I cradle her, I take my cue to deepen the kiss, to pull her closer carefully. Groaning into her mouth, fuck I can’t get enough of her. Trailing kisses down her jawline as she tips her head to the side for much needed air, her gasps drive me to lift her onto my desk.
“Jaz…” her breathy plea of my nickname freezes me, panic seizing my actions.
“I am a gentleman, but only just barely.” My voice is gravel in my own ears, breathed down the slender column of her throat.
A shiver from her causes me to clench my jaw and attempt to gather myself.
“Maybe I don’t want a gentleman right now.” Her whisper damns me, it fucking sets me on fire.
A slamming door downstairs straightens my spine and my hands abandon the exploration of her. Fuck, my family’s timing couldn’t be better, but also worse.
“Honey, we’re home!” Emmett’s booming voice echoes up the stairs and immediately I know he knows, he can probably smell it.
Huffing, I help her regain her footing and straighten her clothes from the rumpled mess my hands made of it. I also take half a thought to smooth her arousal, a damn shame-but a necessity if we’re to face my siblings for the rest of the evening.
“Fucking Emmett.” Her frustration draws a chuckle from me as we make our way downstairs.
“I heard that!” My brother’s response causes her to roll her eyes at me playfully and I shake my head, my heart weighing much fuller in my chest as she plucks its invisible strings with her shit-eating grin.

🎵🎵 Oh, woe-oh-woah is me, the first time that you touched me 🎵🎵
pet·ri·chor /ˈpetrīˌkôr/ (noun)
definition: a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.
Waking to the sound of rain falling steadily on the roof, you blearily pry an eye open to check the time. The sheets beside you on the bed are cool, Steve having made good on his promise to let you sleep in. The clock informs you of the late hour, 1 PM, as your stomach begs for sustenance.
Scrubbing a hand across your face, you roll over and rummage around for a shirt to cover throw on before trotting downstairs. Bub is off with her aunts for one final summer weekend, and there’s a slight chill in the air. Enough to warrant slipping on your husband’s discarded gray sweatshirt.
Aside from the rain against the eaves and windows, the house is silent. Grabbing your favorite mug from the cabinet, you busy yourself making a cup of coffee before you see the post-it stuck to the fridge.
Hope you got to sleep in, your majesty. Grabbing groceries in town, see you soon. xxx - Steve
Grabbing a cinnamon bagel and your coffee you settle in the window seat of the breakfast nook to watch the rain, free of distractions and responsibilities. It’s rare that you get a moment like this, no pressing deadlines, drop-off or pick-up lanes, hosting dinners for friends, or attending a birthday party.
Eyes following the drag of raindrops on the windowpane, your hand falls to the nearly imperceptible swell of your stomach. Early days yet, but you knew the signs: nausea, exhaustion, all the usual suspects. Finishing your coffee, you trekked upstairs in search of a rogue pregnancy test— would it have expired by now?
After checking the date and deeming it worthy, you took the test and checked the time. Deciding it best to go back downstairs to ease your anxiety, you settled back in the window seat with a second cup of coffee.
_
“Couldn’t find a shirt?”
He laughs, shaking off the water droplets like a dog in the foyer. “It wasn’t raining when I left,” Steve says, as if that’s explanation enough. Not that you’re necessarily complaining, his hair and skin damp, tank top doing fuck all being as soaked as it is. “And I couldn’t find my—”
Catching sight of his sweatshirt grazing the tops of your thighs he smiles. “Nevermind, looks better on you anyway.” He kicks the door closed, shoes squelching against the floor as he makes his way into the kitchen.
“Baaaabe,” you whine, catching a whiff of tobacco on him, “Please tell me you didn’t smoke in my car.”
He scoffs and rolls his eyes, sunglasses resting against the visor of his ball cap as he sets the tote bags on the counter. “Trader Joe’s was insane,” he says setting the keys on the counter, “It was an emergency cigarette, I swear.”
A roll of your eyes as you begin to put away the groceries. “If you bothered to wake me, I could’ve told you Trader Joes on a Friday was a bad idea.”
Steve quirks a brow in interest, grabbing a few items to shove in the freezer.
“Flower delivery is Friday, brings all the Lululemon moms to the yard.”
“Huh,” he grunts, “Explains all the spandex and lycra then.” Damp fingers trail against your thigh before wrapping an arm around your hip to draw you close. “Besides,” he breathes against your neck, “If I remember correctly, you requested to be left to sleep in.”
Failing to stifle a yawn, you eek out, “Because I’m fuckin’ exhausted, Harrington.” Setting your mug in the sink, you turn in his grasp and drape an arm across his shoulders. “Raising your daughter and dealing with your sorry ass.”
“Oh,” he pulls you closer, hips flush against one another, “So she’s my daughter now?”
“When she’s having sleep regression, yes.”
“Poor thing.”
“Yes,” you huff, “Me, I’m the poor thing because she insisted on crawling into our bed and kept kicking me in the ribs all night.”
“Hmm,” he hums, resting his chin against your head, “Explains the post-it stuck to my face this morning. ‘Help me Steve Harrington, you’re my only hope! Can you get Bub off to Aunt Nancy & Robin’s and please (for the love of god) let me sleep in? xxx —the love of your life & bearer of your child.”
“Hey,” you grouse into his chest, “I am clever and cute and you love me.”
Steve pulls back to get a better look at you— sleep mused, hair askew, barely dressed in a sweatshirt that had seen better days, and bare feet. He reaches down to link his fingers through yours. It feels so good, and warm, and you sigh almost contentedly.
“Course I do.” He takes a breath, “How could I not?”
“Steve Harrington,” you whisper against his lips, “You sweet talkin’ me?”
And with that, you crash your lips over his, sliding your tongue—sweet and heavy with promise into the space of his mouth.
He tastes like a stolen cigarette and coffee, cinnamon dancing on his tongue from the Big Red he’d swiped from the car. Kisses you slow and deep, easing you back against the counter. Chest pressed flush to yours, you let out an involuntary hiss.
“Somethin’ wrong?”
A shake of your head as your pepper his cheeks with kisses, bristles of five o’clock shadow catching against your lips.
“My tits just really hurt.”
“Huh,” he tuts, leaning back to look you over. “That’s uh… new.”
Quirking your brow, you level him with a look. “And how would you know?”
Steve’s lips curl in a slow smile, “I notice things.”
Glancing to the green numbers illuminated on the microwave, you grab his hand and make for the staircase. “Sure you do, big guy,” you toss over your shoulder playfully.
Settling him on the bed, you trot back into the en suite and return with the white plastic test in your hand. Handing it to him without fanfare, you watch as his face turns from one of mild curiosity to that of astonishment. Shock.
There was a cautious longing in your eyes and your face was measured. The air was weighted in silence, desire crystallizing as he leaned towards you, a pull he allowed himself to fall toward, closing the space between, choosing not to think, blocking out any hesitation and he was kissing you.
You were trying not to rush this, trying to savor this, slowly, carefully, tormented with the scent of his skin, all warm and washed linen, comfort laced in a simmering heat that he kept tempered somewhere deep within his soul.
Your face was cradled in his hands, pulling you closer, skin hot against palms, lips hotter still against his own when he realised the rain had stopped.
You crawl into his lap, straddle his waist, and his breath is punched out of his lungs in awe of your beauty. You undress him with deft fingers, yanking his clothes, hissing when he pulls away to peel the shirt off— as if not touching him pains you. The sweatshirt comes off— thrown carelessly landing somewhere on the floor— Steve revels in the exposure your chest—soft, heaving with love and agony.
Steve. Stevie. I love you. I love you. I love you so much.
Desperate, again.
You tug his hair, grip his chest and back, kiss him until his head spins. The bed creaks softly, as if it doesn’t want to interrupt the sounds that your bodies create together.
His kisses were deliberate towards one destination as his hands moved toward another, caressing you soft on the skin of your hips, slowly, sweetly up your sides and arching your back where you perched, a way to kiss you harder, reach you further to rediscover all his favorite parts of you.
The moan started low in your throat as he eased himself into you, sinking all the way to the hilt, delicious and easy, because he couldn’t wait and neither could you. You in all your love and splendor, always ready, always open for him, legs widening and gripping him as he began to move, slowly and agonizingly sweet.
Steve was trying to restrain himself, slow it down, revel in the feel of you, warm and wet and wonderful around him. He wanted to make it go slow, try not to lose himself through your soft sounds, the little breaths that told him the how, the when, the yes, please, right there, yes as you dissolved into moans that had him aching.
It was less deliberate now, more messy, a stuttered rhythm that had his legs feeling shaky, chasing his release, the push and pull of desire tightening, closer, hotter, tighter, and then an instant hardness that had him seeing stars, mouth tucked into the curve of your neck, your fingers threaded, gripping his locks, spilling feeling from his cock through your cunt.
He makes love to you, and even though he is bone tired from the hectic morning, he doesn’t feel it until you tremble in his arms and slump against his chest.
Your breath caught in your throat when he drew back to look at you, half-embarrassed, half a smile awash in his flushed face, hazel eyes full and wanting – utterly beautiful. Steve kissed your nose, your mouth, lingering sweetness on your lips, and you groaned as he picked you up, still buried inside you, his hands strong beneath your ass, fingers itching to trail the familiar paths of faded stretch marks. To praise the skin that grew to house you and your daughter, knew instinctively what to do, even if you were less than pleased with their sudden arrival.
Steve can’t help it - he loves your body for that, for keeping you and Bub safe. It’s something he won’t ever experience, but each time he happens to catch sight of you, pregnant or not, he can’t help but feel that he’s witnessing something sacred. Something holy.
The bed now, a comfort beneath your back, sheets scrambled beneath his palms as he balanced himself above you, then a stuttered breath as he slipped out, your muscles already missing the fullness of him. His pretty head moved lower now, your pretty hands still stroking through his pretty hair, sending pretty shivers through his spine.
The gasp was low in your throat when Steve pushed his fingers inside you, slow and agonizing, damp with you and him, all melded together and you almost winced when he dipped his mouth between your thighs, his tongue careful and deliberate, tasting you, tasting him, his mouth warm and licking you from core to clit.
This time, your legs were shaking, skin like fire and you were already too wound up, too high on just the feel on him, his hair brushing skin, beard soft on your thighs. Your fingers were fisted still through his hair, and god, he loved the way he knew how to drive you by the tension in your hands, the scrabbled grip through his locks as you got closer, more breathless, a groan and then an arch of toes before you were wrung out and writhing beneath him.
A clap of thunder sounded out as you collapsed, loose limbs and shivery skin as he came up to kiss you, shared joy and wonder, near awe that he could still bring you over the edge this way.
Steve's hair was something else now, wild and beautiful – definitely overdue for a trim and you were laughing now, face sparkling with glee.
“You look awful,” you told him, bringing your lips up to kiss him, all giggly with delight.
“Thank you,” he replied, nosing you close and drawing new breaths from your tongue as your hands drifted to the velvet skin beneath his thighs, working him slow and sweet.
“Oh, I will,” you answered, tempered smile in that face he adored so well, and shifted your body, drawing Steve onto his back as you dipped lower and he tried to hold the groan as you took him in your mouth.
He had to look away, some way to regather himself, the rushing blood through his skin, shooting straight to his cock, the warmth of your mouth on him, your tongue stroking him, the push and drag of your lips along that sensitive skin.
Steve focused on the feeling of you surrounding him, your warmth, your light, but even so, it was too much after a while and he had to change it, change the way you felt on him before he got too eager, too earnest. He lifted you, a giggle escaping your lips as you pulled off him with one last, deliberate drag of your mouth and this time, he couldn’t help the moan from his lips.
It was heaven, warm and sweet, when he pushed into you for the second time, your knees almost matched high at your chest, grazing your aching nipples as he found that special part of you that drew his most favorite sounds. You were keening, moving slowly together, trying not to lose control, trying to savor this for as long as you possibly could in this delicious bubble of time and space. _
Hours later and the pair of you had yet to leave the house. Rain pouring on and off throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
A tentative look at your belly, still smooth and firm. His hand finds the plane of it, fingers brushing the skin and over newly forming goosebumps. A surprising amount of excitement flutters in his own at the thought. It’d be good.
Steve insisted on throwing something together for dinner and made his way downstairs. He’s excited at the prospect of another baby, especially if they continued to take after you like Bub had. And she’d be adorable big sister, his heart swells at the thought.
He grabs the plates and heads back upstairs, the creak of the trick-step signalling his ascent. Nudging the door open with his hip, he pauses to take in the sight of you, and sets the plates on the nightstand.
Steve doesn’t know how someone can light up a room like you, just sitting there in his sweatshirt, doing nothing but smile. “Honey,” he says quietly, like he doesn’t want to disturb the moment but can’t help himself. He just wants to see you looking at him.
“Yeah?” You turn your head ever so slightly, peek up under flared lashes— sleepy eyes struggling to stay awake— still sparkling. “What is it?”
“Honey, I love you.” Is all he can manage. Everything else seems to fade away.
And then you smile, a slow curling of your soft lips, cupid’s bow catching a moonbeam. You smile so sweetly his heart stops in his chest. The world comes rushing back with your tired sigh and your hand linking itself with his. One beat, two beats, steadily, heavily, his blood pulses again when you kiss his cheek and murmur,
“I love you, too.”

A Kind of Demon
Kinktober Day 3: Monster AU
Tags: Din Djarin x Reader, Incubus!Din Djarin, afab!fem!reader, unprotected piv, Din has a demon dick lol, force sex? yeah pretty much, fingering, overstimulation, making up my own demon lore as I go (w/c: 1.7K)
A/N: SO I have never, ever written something like this so this was way way out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to try it out! I really like incubus!Din, so I might come back to him again, who knows. Din does have like "force powers" in this, but since it's not the Star Wars universe, it's just like demon magic lol. (I am using prompts from this list by flightlessangelwings!)
Tumblr media
You should be terrified of the power he has over you.
You’d hadn’t meant to summon someone like him, something other. He looks vaguely human, or is just human-shaped, but he’s covered in a dark, metallic armor that makes him seem more mythical than man. And the power he exudes cannot be explained as anything other than supernatural.
He calls himself a Mandalorian, a word that seems made up, not of this world. It’s a type of demon, he tells you, his sentences controlled and short, the type that you’d summoned. A kind of incubus.
“I didn’t summon a fucking demon!” you yell, throwing object after object at him, anything you can find. They bounce off of his dark armor, and he stands stock still, unfeeling and utterly monstrous. He says your name in a way that has your knees buckling on the spot, from fear, of course.
“I have been summoned to you, whether intentional, or unintentional. Your unconscious needs have brought me to you, and I cannot leave until my duty has been fulfilled.” His voice is clear and deep through the metal helmet shielding his face, and try as you might to peer into the dark visor, all you can see is nothingness.
“What does an incubus even do?” you shout, throwing your hands into the air. He chuckles in a truly demonic way, terrifying and somehow endlessly charming.
“Are you lonely, little one?” he said, stepping forward and looming over you like a fucking predator. You don’t answer, staring straight ahead into his armored chest, lips pursed. Why the fuck would he have to know that? Your, frankly terrible, sex life is none of his business.
His gloved hand reaches forward to nudge your chin up, forcing you to meet his gaze, even though you can’t see his eyes.
“All of these needs, trapped in your pretty little head, I can feel them. I can see them. Fantasizing in the dark night after night with your fingers in your pussy, desperate for someone to take care of you. I can see everything you want, and I can do it for you. I can take care of you, little one.” You swallow, harsh and painful, like sandpaper down your throat.
Your pussy soaks through your panties as he murmurs darkly into your ear. “You only need to say yes, girl, and I will make you feel so, so good.”
Your head swims, your knees weak and your body aching as you whisper a yes.
God, you should be terrified. Terrified of the way he takes control so easily. How, with only a touch, he makes your clothes vanish like nothing, leaving you bare to his invisible eyes. You should be scared for your life at the way you can feel his power all around you, touching every inch of your shaking body, pressing you backward to lay on your bed. Instead, your pussy leaks between your quaking thighs. A force, his force, you realize, invisible and yet so solid it might as well be his hands, strokes across your body, against your throbbing clit. A choked moan rips its way out of your throat.
“That’s right girl, let me take care of you,” he murmurs, looming over you as he steps forward to kneel on the bed. “I can take any form you want, just tell me. Is there someone you desire?”
Oh. You’d hadn’t realized it was an option, for him to take the shape of someone else. He could be anything, you realized, a crush, a celebrity, even yourself. The realization makes you stock still, wracking your brain for someone, anyone. But looking up at him, with his dark visor and broad chest, God, you don’t want him to be anyone else. Just the sheer sight of him has you desperate enough.
“No,” you breathe, a little too eagerly. “No, this- this is fine.”
He pauses. All of him, his chest, his mouth, the force he has enveloping you. You both stare at each other, stock still and silent. And then, he moves.
He’s got you turned over on your sheets in seconds, your face pressed into the mattress as he hikes your hips up. You clutch desperately at the sheets as he sinks two thick fingers into you, gloriously human but somehow not human at all. There’s no way he could be human when he finds that spot so deep inside, the spot that you can barely reach half the time, immediately.
“Holy- holy fucking shit, oh fuck,” you choke on your moans as he grinds the pads of his fingers into you, sending lightning ricocheting up your spine. Your hips twitch back into his hand without your permission, desperate for the kind of touch you haven’t experienced in so long.
“That’s it, girl, take what you need from me,” he growls, fucking his fingers into you at a pace that is truly obscene. His force surrounds you, a warmth that cannot be explained in earthly terms. It ghosts across your nipples, surrounding them and pulling on them in a way that brings tears to your eyes. It moves down and presses hard on your clit, flicking across it in a way that feels like a fucking tongue. You can’t hold back the way you scream.
He sinks another finger into you, stretching you out more than you have been in months, years. Maybe I have needed this, you think. Maybe I did summon him.
He leans over you, close enough that he is able to murmur directly into your ear, “Think you can take my cock, little one?”
The whine you let out is downright embarrassing. “Please.”
You glance behind yourself, to where the Mandalorian has his thick fingers buried deep in your cunt, to where he’s pulling out his cock with the other hand. That, for the first time, is distinctly inhuman. His cock is huge, so big that you have a brief thought about it splitting you in two, right down the middle. Rigid bumps run down his length, and the tip is thick, leaking, and oh shit, you want him in your mouth, you want him in your pussy, you want him fucking everywhere.
“Fuck me,” you whine, and the demon chuckles.
“Do you really think you can take me, girl?” He growls.
“I wanna try, oh please, please, I need it, ah-” he cuts off your whining by ripping his fingers out of you, leaving you empty and gaping. It doesn’t last very long before he notches the head of his cock against your entrance and pushes.
The stretch seems fucking endless. You can only clutch the pillows and sob as he breaks you apart on his thick cock, reaching so deep you swear you can feel him in your fucking lungs. It should hurt, God it should hurt, but his force only makes you relax as he pulls you back onto him. You feel dizzy with it, the way that force keeps licking maddeningly at your clit, pulling at your nipples while the biggest cock you’ve ever had settles deep inside.
You cum. Just from the way he sinks into you, fills you like you’ve always been empty, and you’ve only been missing him all your life. You writhe against the sheets, clutching at your pillow as you convulse around his cock. It’s debilitating, destructive, and all you can think of is how much you need more.
“It’s- oh fuck, it’s- I can’t,” you sob over your words, tears leaking down your cheeks, but you can’t help but press back into his body, trying to get him as deep as possible.
The demon snarls, using a thick hand to reach forward and grab your wrists together, pinning them to the small of your back. He pulls his hips back, slowly, so slow that you can feel every bump drag endlessly over your walls, before he drives back into you so hard the breath is knocked out of your lungs, the tip grinding deep into that spot he’s able to find so easily.
Then, the Mandalorian fucks you. No, fucking is too gentle. There is no earthly term to describe how he destroys you in a way that is so pure, so primal. He holds onto your wrists and drags you back onto his cock with every thrust, keeping you at his mercy while you can only moan and cry as he rips you apart into a million little pieces. You feel like a bitch in heat, getting fucked like that is all you’re meant to do. The demon uses you like a fucking toy, his force sucking at your abused little clit endlessly.
You can hear little grunts escaping his mouth with every thrust, tiny uh, uh, uhs that have your head spinning. You’re pretty sure you’re drooling, but you can’t bring yourself to care, not when this man, this demon, is fucking you within an inch of your life, ruining you for anyone, anything else.
Your pussy makes obscene noises around him, echoing throughout the room as your headboard smacks hard against the wall. You can barely even make a noise anymore, overwhelmed sobs forcing their way out of your throat every time he reaches deep, deep into your body.
“I can feel you clenching for me. Are you going to cum for me again?” He growls. “Go on then, little girl, make a mess of yourself.”
Your mouth opens in a silent scream as you squeeze tight around his cock, your body trembling in his hold. He fucks you through it, prolonging it, and it’s too much, it’s too fucking much. Your vision blurs, your head light and fuzzy, and you can only gasp wetly as the world blinks into darkness.
As your eyes blink open again, you’re warm. Your sheets feel clean, smelling of lavender and chamomile, and your room is blissfully, astonishingly quiet. You sit up in bed, a twinge going through your arms, and you nearly scream as you look across the room to see the Mandalorian standing still in your doorway, unmoving.
“Are you alright, girl?” he says, like he hadn’t just ripped you apart in every way that matters.
“Uh,” you cross your arms over yourself, feeling strangely vulnerable. “Yeah, I’m alright.”
He nods, once. “Good. My duties have been fulfilled.” He doesn’t let you get a word in.
You blink, and the Mandalorian is gone.

ajax’s head turns when he hears the short honk from logan, the other whirling past the speeding sedan to trail beside ajax’s bike. he watches as logan brings his hand up, two fingers jutted out, and makes a pointing motion somewhere in front.
ajax follows logan’s signal, sitting up on his bike to see past the hoods of the cars, before catching sight of the infamous ‘ghost rider’ – a funny name given that the bike doesn’t remotely look like the harley that was used in the film, but one that stuck anyways. it was dubbed by a fan after seeing ghost in his first ever rally and ghost, with his sleek black skull mask and extra flare, took upon the name with pride.
but that’s not what logan was pointing at, ajax’s sure, because perched behind ghost’s bulk is a smaller figure, one whom ajax remembers hearing about – ghost’s darling girl. the man’s other half even when they’re polars of each other; sun and moon, or however else the two are described.
ajax isn’t really sure who started the rumour that the two are opposites because last time they all met, simon and his girl were equally… grossly in love.
finishing each other’s sentences, actions matching up even when they’re not looking at each other, defending each other’s honours type of grossly in love.
simon pulling his girl’s chair towards him because – and ajax thanks the otherman’s tact – it would have been too much if he just plucked her from her seat and plopped her on his lap type of grossly in love.
but ajax understands why – you’re simply such a beautiful person.
ajax’s not a shy guy – he’s sure shyness naturally gets replaced the moment one begins trusting themselves with their lives as they take on a bike – but there he had been, stuttering when talking to you. you had asked him how he knew of ghost and ajax swears it was like he almost forgot anything about himself. even how to ride a bike.
but you were so genuine with your interest in getting to know him that he felt so relaxed being around you; stutters getting replaced by the sureness in his voice, previous embarrassment getting trampled and replaced with comfort. ajax left that night feeling like he’s just been adopted as your older brother, lack of blood relations be damned.
logan’s light honking snaps ajax from his thoughts again and he turns to his friend, sending him a nod, before the two are revving their bikes to catch up to ghost rider.
when the two are close, logan splits from ajax until they’re flanking ghost on either side. it’s ajax who presses his horn button to catch ghost’s attention.
it’s laughably endearing how both you and ghost whirl your heads to turn to ajax, and while ajax can’t see ghost’s expression he’s blessed to see the way your glare melts away the moment you make eye contact with him.
one of your arm untangles from ghost’s waist to offer ajax an excitable wave. ajax raises his hand and points two fingers to the ground – ride safe! – hoping that you understand what it means, let alone know that it means anything.
ajax’s eyes flit towards ghost’s head and even though the other man is all visored up, ajax sees him nod back before returning the gesture.
logan honks on the other side of the pair and ajax watches as the interaction was mimicked. you give logan a happy wave as well and logan, the bastard, replies with a flying kiss.

“You’re in pain.”
For a man that doesn’t like droids, the voice that floats through The Mandalorians modulator sure sounds droid-esque. His tone is flat, devoid of emotion as he tries to ascertain the reason for your scrunched-up brows.
“I’m fine,” you dismiss awkwardly. The Mandalorian would have to set you alight with his flamethrower vambrace if he wanted to pry the information out of you.
Your period has started, settling a creeping pain across your lower back that kicks into what you can only describe as cramp-hyperspace. You’re both irritable and needy simultaneously, desperate for his attention yet frustrated by his presence all at once. Besides, you couldn’t call what you and The Mandalorian had a ‘relationship’. Sharing a cot every once in a while to ease the frustration built in a tin can in hyperspace wasn’t exactly marriage, was it?
A leather-clad hand gently finds its way onto the small of your back, rubbing slowly against the tight muscles there and soothing the ache that’s so intense it feels like it may pull away the flesh from your spine.
“I heard…” The Mandalorian hesitates for a moment, a twang of nervousness sounding from the tip of his tongue. “I heard that release is… is good for the pain.”
Your heart plummets into your stomach when his visor tilts to you, taking in your expression. His hand slides along the curve of your ass ever so gently, a ghost of a touch that feels more likely to be a figment of the force than something the big, burly Mandalorian could muster.
“Mando-“
He’s on you in a second, grabbing underneath your ass and hoisting you upwards in a strong lift that makes your head spin. You push your forehead to the smooth, cold metal of his helmet as he struggles to pull your pants down. He doesn’t get them past your knees, pushing your back against the wall and groaning as he works at his flight suit.
“I-I’m bleeding, Man-“
“I don’t care,” he rasps, voice dripping with arousal as he pulls his cock out from his pants. You can hear him work at it for a moment, his breath picking up as you whimper. “If you want me to fuck you- if that’s what you need- stars- I’ll give it to you, pretty baby, give you anything you need.”
He’s babbling, pushing your panties to the side and swiping his gloved fingers through your folds until the leather catches on your clit. You gasp loudly, the slight friction enough for your hips to jump off the wall.
Mando doesn’t hesitate, lining the head of his cock against your entrance before pushing into you with such ease. You take him so well, your body desperate to be filled by him that it offers no resistance at all. A groan tears from his throat like someone had punched him straight in the gut, wheezing slightly when he feels the head of his dick bitch against your cervix.
It should hurt, and it does, but stars, it feels so good, too. Your back is arching against the cool durasteel, tears welling in your eyes as he rolls his hips impossibly deeper. The coarse hair on his pubic bone grinds just right against your clit, and your walls clamp around his cock while you whine out his name.
“I know, Baby Girl, I know,” he breathes, his hips starting a languid, steady pace that has you digging your fingernails into the pauldrons on his shoulders. It stretches you out just right, your hips raising to meet each thrust as you sigh out his name in what could only be described as some kind of prayer.
“MmmMando,” you moan, head tilting back until your crown hits the wall behind you. Eyes cast to the heavens, they tear up as tendrils of pleasure work their way up your spine, Mando’s hips already working you towards bliss in a way only he could.
“Close your eyes, Pretty Baby,” you hear him groan, his voice gravelly. You do so without question, eyelids heavy already with the intensity of the pleasure building between your thighs.
There’s a shift, a mumble of ‘keep ‘em closed’ that sounds too loud to be him, and then his lips are on your neck. Nando’s lips are on your neck, kissing and sucking at your skin as he ruts into you at a blinding pace.
“Ohmy- Mando-“ you choke out, tears streaming down your cheeks at the overwhelming rush of adrenaline, of emotions. The coarse hair of a trimmed beard you didn’t know he had bristles your skin, and he whispers a moan against the junction of your shoulder.
“Fuck, Baby,” he chokes out, his hand gripping at the flesh just beneath the curve of your ass where he holds you up. “So fucking wet, so tight for me, Baby. That’s it, I know, I know, I can feel it-“
You’re arching into him, moaning louder. The sound of your keens bounces off the walls of the hanger, ricocheting back into your ears as you feel your orgasm work its claws into your abdomen.
“I’ve got you,” Mando soothes you, even with the strain in his voice, “I’ve got you, m’here.”
It sends you dropping through space, plummeting past the stars and the planets as he hits something vital inside you. You’re cumming, bliss spilling through your body and momentarily blinding you as everything blurs before your eyes. It roils through you, tears you apart at the seams like you’ve been stretched and ripped open in the best way.
You must be screaming, must be wailing and sobbing his name, because Mando is offering you a chorus of ‘I know I know I know’. You’re so tight around him, gushing on his cock and his hips stutter, spitting out your name against the column of your throat in a voice that’s unmodulated and crystal clear as he cums, filling you up when he spills inside of you.
You’re both panting heavily, legs like jelly and bodies buzzing with a burning afterglow that could compete with the twin suns of Tatooine.
“M-Must have made a mess,” you whimper, voice cracking. Your eyes stay firmly shut, even when you hear him chuckle and feel him press a kiss to your jaw.
“That’s what a shower is for, isn’t it?”
You share the shower, share a cot in your moments of frustration on this tin can in hyperspace. Mando takes his helmet off for you, kissing and whispering utter bantha-shite while he smoothes your discomfort… Maybe it is a marriage proposal, after all.

i'm holding every breath for you
steve harrington x nextdoor neighbour!reader {8.2k} based on the song i’d lie by taylor swift. friends-to-lovers. lots of pining, a bit of angst, steve being oblivious to reader’s feelings. reader uses she/her pronouns. no use of y/n. not proofread
You root through the glove compartment of Steve’s car, bent over at the waist to peer into the small space trying to find the lip balm you swore you left there the last time he gave you a ride.
“Why d’you have so much crap in here? How am I meant to find anything?” You pull out random scraps of paper, food wrappers and notes scribbled in a hurry that were barely legible.
“You wouldn’t have to look through it if you didn’t forget something every time you’re in here.”
You shoot him a glare, no malice really behind it because he was right, you did have a bad habit of constantly leaving your stuff in his car. Though to be fair, you were constantly leaving things behind in the places you’d been, it wasn’t exclusive to his car.
“S’not my fault, I just forget.” You’ve got a pile of rubbish on your lap now, the glove box empty enough for you to actually see its contents. When you finally see the plastic tube you’ve been searching for you let out a small ah!, inhaling quickly as you pull it out with a victorious smile on your face. “Got it.”
“Best put it somewhere safe, god forbid you have to root through my stuff again.” Steve’s eyebrows were raised, a sarcastic twang to his voice, but you know he’s not really mad. He was never mad, not at you anyway.
“I know, sorry, could have all sorts of secrets in here.”
You put all the rubbish you’ve accumulated back into the compartment, really you should keep hold of it to throw it all out. But the thought doesn’t cross your mind until you’re back home in your room.
“Think you know all of my secrets anyway, I’ll let it slide.”
You sit back in your seat, pulling down the sun visor to shield your eyes from the summer evening sun that was hanging low in the sky. You have your own car, and were perfectly capable of driving it, but Steve insisted on driving you around because your car was old and rickety and ‘should not be allowed on the road’. He was at least a little bit right, and you can't say you mind him picking you up from your shifts at the grocery store. His passenger seat had always felt a bit like home, even through high school and the girlfriends that would come and go, your presence up front was a constant.
You undo a few of the buttons on your work shirt, the sticky heat of the day clinging to the fabric and your skin. The air conditioning near the checkouts in work was temperamental at best, and today it had decided to pretty much pack in altogether. The first thing you’d done when you got into Steve’s car was crank the AC up to try and lower your body temperature from feverish to just plain old hot.
“You coming to the lake this weekend?” You pick at your chipped nail varnish, Steve finally able to actually start the drive home now you’ve dug through his mess successfully. It was a Hawkin’s summer tradition to spend at least one day down by the lake, drinking and smoking a bit too much and getting a little dizzy from a full day of sun exposure.
Steve hums, nodding in response as he pulls out of the parking lot. “You’ll never guess who asked me that at work today.”
“At work? Robin?” You look away from your nails, brows furrowed and nose scrunched with confusion.
“No, not Robin.” Steve chuckles, your response typical of your mind, always a little ditzy and in your own world. It was endearing in a way, your world view simple and honest and good. “Tammy Thompson.”
Your mouth opens to a small ‘O’, head nodding slowly. “You gonna go with her?”
“No, absolutely not. Couldn’t pay me to go with her.”
“She’s not so bad, in the grand scheme of Hawkin’s.”
“If my best option is Tammy Thompson, I think I’ll just stay single forever.”
You press your lips together, nodding again. You were overly familiar with Steve’s dating woes, both throughout school and now into adulthood. Maybe if you were bolder, with less to lose than your best friend, you’d just tell him to date you. Bite the bullet and take the leap and just give it a try. But you weren’t bold, you were safe and comfortable in the familiar and not ready to jeopardise that by confessing some big feelings that Steve was oblivious to.
“You just gonna hide from her the whole time then?”
“Maybe, use you as a human shield.” He grins at you, watching as you scrunch up your nose again. It was one of those mannerisms that you did all the time, whenever something confused you or if he teased you a little. It was a dead giveaway for your emotions, even if you were unaware of it.
“But you’re bigger than me, I don’t think I’d be very good at it.”
“Y’not even gonna try? I’d do it for you.” He pouts at you, you’re sure he’s doing his best puppy dog eyes behind his sunglasses too.
“Sure, I’ll try. But don’t blame me when she spots you, I can’t grow like 3 feet taller in a few days.”
“Don’t think you’d need to grow 3 feet, honey.”
“To do a proper job I would.”
Steve just nods, smiling to himself as he pulls into the street you’ve both grown up on. Carpooling was pretty easy when you only had to make one stop, though he’d take you to the other side of the world if you asked him to.
“You gonna need a lift to work tomorrow?” Steve parks up in his driveway, turning the ignition off and cutting off the AC you’ve been basking in, a small sigh coming from your lips as the cool air stops fanning on your skin.
“S’okay, I start at like 6am so I can drive.” You pick your backpack up out of the footwell, corduroy straps held tightly in your hand.
“You’re not driving that death trap when you’re half asleep, you know I don’t mind dropping you off.” Steve’s car keys dangle from his pointer finger, the collection of keyrings you’d gotten him over the years from every holiday you’d been on jingling against one another. “Just bang on my door if I don’t knock before you need to leave.”
“You’re silly for doing this, y’know that?”
“Only for you, sweetheart.”
Steve leans over to ruffle your hair, earning him a huff from you as you try to move your head away. You smooth out the mess as you climb out the passenger side, slinging your bag over one shoulder as you start to make your way over to your own house.
“You forgetting something?” Steve calls after you, and as you turn you see him holding out the same lip balm you’d left behind before.
“Oh, thanks Stevie.” You hurry back over to take the tube out of his hand, giving him a sweet smile before heading back home again.
You’re used to early mornings, pretty good at pushing past the grogginess after having to work so many opening shifts and be alert when the sun is still climbing in the sky, but being jostled about the back of Eddie’s van with the rest of your friends when you’re all still half asleep hurt your head a little bit.
It was the easiest option, meaning you could all make your way to the lake together and only have one designated driver, but you did miss seatbelts.
The heat was still yet to break, the air thick and clammy despite only wearing a tank top and some jean shorts over your bikini. You’re already slathered in sunscreen, the artificial coconut smell a bit overwhelming in the enclosed space and it doesn’t seem to lessen even once you’re out in the fresh air.
“I wish we had one of those big umbrellas.” You stand with your hands on your hips, watching the boys lug the bags filled with snacks and the cooler of beer and soda out of the van. “It’s so hot.”
“That’s what the lakes for, cools you right down.” Eddie smiles, shaking his curls out of his eyes as he stands up straight.
You shrug, staring out at the glistening water. “I don’t wanna get my hair wet.”
“It’s gonna get wet.”
“Shame.” You chew the inside of your cheek and hold your arms out to take one of the picnic blankets that’d been brought along.
It took you about fifteen minutes to all settle on a spot along the shore, Eddie and Robin wanting to be as close to the pier as possible so they can dive-bomb into the water but Nancy saying there’ll be too much foot traffic there and nobody will be able to relax. You stand back, letting your friends argue it out and laying down your blanket once the issue had been resolved.
The sun feels nice on your skin, the lake having more of a breeze than the rest of town making it bearable to lay out in. It doesn’t take too long for the midday heat to have you peeling off your tank top, shorts unbuttoned and rolled down a little so you can feel the heat on your stomach.
Eddie hands out one of the joints he pre-rolled for the occasion, something about needing to start early so he can sober up before he drives you all home. The smoke has your head feeling a little fuzzy, mixing with the beer you’ve been sipping slowly and slowing your mind down.
“You’re going pink.” Steve sits down next to you, cross legged and shoulders almost brushing.
“I thought it was green?” You tilt your head to one side, putting the back of your hand to your head to feel your temperature. “I feel okay.”
“No, not that, your shoulders.”
You lift your sunglasses onto the top of your head, looking down to your shoulders which were turning a little pink. Your freckles coming out where the sun had kissed your skin. “Oh, right, I am.”
“C’mere.” Steve leans over to reach for the sunscreen, not moving from his seat next to you as he stretches his arm over the blanket. “Your mom will be mad if I let you get burnt.”
You shake your head, shuffling around so Steve can get to your shoulders easier. “You’re her favourite, she’d just tell me to be more careful.”
The sunscreen feels cold, even as Steve rubs it in carefully against the hot patches of skin on your shoulders, being careful to get it under the straps of your bikini. You’re used to his gentle touches, him always looking after you ever since you were kids, but now you’re older and you’re more aware of the way his hands move and how he treats you like you’re precious and it makes your heart skip a little.
He moves a hand away to take the joint off Robin, inhaling as he keeps massaging the sunscreen in with his other hand. He can feel the heat radiating off your skin, not yet in the sunburn territory, just a little warm. Your skin always feels soft, he’s not sure if it’s some moisturiser you use or if it’s just how you are. He leans his arm over your shoulder, holding the joint out to you as you take it between your fingers.
You inhale, careful not to press your lips against the roach too hard in case your lipgloss transfers too much. Steve finally finishes rubbing the cream into your shoulders, and you shuffle again so that you’re facing him. “Is my face pink too? My nose feels kinda warm.”
Steve lifts his own sunglasses up so he can look at you clearer, hair pushed back by the frames and his hand shielding his eyes from the sun's glare. “A little, you want sunscreen on there too?”
You nod your head, closing your eyes. Your eyelashes cast little shadows on your cheeks, something Steve hasn’t really noticed before but he likes it. Likes seeing you up close, even after all these years. His movements are careful as he brushes the cream across your nose and over your cheeks, just using one finger to rub it into your skin.
You enjoy the sweet moments, but sometimes they’re too easy to get lost in. It's easy to pretend you don’t harbour all these feelings for Steve when you’re apart, even when you’re just hanging out at a safe distance. But when he’s close, your mind gets a bit carried away. Dreaming up scenarios where he might press a kiss to your lips whilst your eyes are still closed, hold your hand once he’s done and keep it there for the rest of the day. You’ve got a big imagination, it’s a real bother sometimes.
Steve finishes his careful application, and sets his hand down in his lap to look over your face once more to check he hasn’t missed anywhere. He takes a moment to just watch how you breath steady, a small smile on your lips that always seems to be there without you even knowing. “Okay, you’re done.”
You open your eyes, instantly squinting from the bright sunlight. You quickly bring your sunglasses back over your eyes, the red heart shaped frames contrasting against your complexion. “Thanks Steve, you’re the best.”
“I know, s’why you love me.”
If only you knew, you think. You have to force your face not to react to his words, simply giving him a smile as you lay back down to sunbathe some more.
The heat and the smoke and the alcohol makes you clingy. They always do, even on their own, so mixing all three was sure to have you craving closeness.
The boys had all been in the lake, splashing and tackling each other and making enough noise to draw attention from most of the people on the lake. When Steve walks back to the blanket, you hold out your arms to him as if to summon him.
“Hey, honey. You good?” He sits in that same spot next to you, you instantly lean your head on his shoulder and hum a response. His body is still wet, but you suddenly don’t mind your hair getting a little damp. Steve knows what you’re like when you’re high, having spent enough nights on his back porch sharing a joint when his parents were out of town. Knows how you like to be close to him, he doesn’t mind it so much either.
“M’good.” You mumble, pushing your face further into his neck. He smells like the fresh water, that same strong sunscreen but somehow still like Steve. You wish you could bottle it up, it's probably your favourite smell in the world.
Steve puts his arm around your waist, head resting on top of yours. If it was anyone else the close contact in the heat would probably be too much, but it’s okay if it’s you. You’re like an extension of him at this point. “You had enough water today? Don’t want you going loopy.”
“Yeah, drank like two bottles.” You nudge your head in the direction of the empty water bottles discarded next to you, keeping them in a pile to collect at the end of the day.
“Oh, must just be loopy anyway then.” He teases, giving your side a gentle squeeze. It feels like his hand has an electric current running through it and each movement sends shockwaves through you.
“Thought you already knew that.”
“I do, it’s cute.”
“So you’ll visit me in the loony bin then?” You shift your head slightly so you can look up at him through your sunglasses, everything tinged some muddy colour from the lenses.
“Every day, if they don’t lock me up with you.”
“God, can you two get a room? Even Robin and Vickie aren’t this bad and they’re actually together.” Eddie shouts over from the other end of the mismatched collection of blankets, your cheeks heat up more than they already are with his words. The sun at least gives you an excuse for the flush of colour.
“Can it, Munson.” Steve flips him off with the hand that isn’t still on your waist, the other boy returning the signal with a smug grin on his lips.
You kind of want the ground to swallow you, suddenly aware that everyone probably knows you’re in love with your best friend. You don’t want the pity smiles or the sorry stares, but then if everyone else knows, why doesn’t Steve? Surely someone must have let something slip by now. Hopefully they haven’t. It’s even worse to think he knows and is ignoring it to save you from the rejection. You squeeze your eyes hard to try and push the thoughts away.
You lean further into Steve’s side, the cool water on his skin feels soothing against your own. His hand finally moves from your waist up to stroke your hair. His thumb brushing slowly over and over.
“You seen Tammy Thompson yet?” You want to put the question back inside your head as soon as you’ve said it.
“Yeah, think you did a pretty good job at being my shield though. Took one look at us and turned on her heel.”
You smile to yourself, a small laugh coming out as you put your arms around Steve. “That’s good. Maybe I’ll get a job as a bodyguard.”
Steve chuckles and you can feel the movement against your body, the vibrations making your hairs stand on end. “Don’t think they usually let bodyguards do this sorta thing.”
“Oh.” You hold your bottom lip under your teeth and exhale. “Maybe not then.”
You’re wallowing. It’s maybe overdramatic, and you’re glad nobody else is there to see it, but you are. You have the house to yourself again, and the whole day off work, but you’ve spent most of it laid out on your lawn with a book trying to distract yourself from the fact that Steve is on a date.
He told you yesterday, as he was dropping you off from work again, that some pretty girl had been in Family Video and he’d asked her out and she’d said yes. You’d smiled, told him you were happy for him, because he was your best friend and you wanted him to be happy more than anything else in the world. But it hasn't stopped you from moping about the entire day.
The grass tickles the skin on your back that’s exposed from where your shirt is riding up, the feeling irritating you more than it usually would. You’d managed to read about twenty pages in the past hour, having to re-read each paragraph at least three times because your mind keeps wandering.
Your book is left at your side, defeated by the words that jumbled in your brain, your arm over your eyes to block out the last of the day's light.
“Hey, you.” Steve chimes from over the shared fence, you hadn’t heard his car pulling up and his voice spooks you a bit as you quickly sit up.
“Steve, you’re here.” You furrow your brow, confused by his presence. You were no expert on dating, but you had assumed he’d be out much later than this.
“Can I come over?”
“Stupid question.”
He smiles at your response, giving you a nod as he walks down the fence and back around into your back garden. “You been out here all day?”
“Almost. I had to go inside for a bit because it was too hot.” Your legs stretch out in front of you as you lean back on your palms, head tilted up to look at Steve who’s still standing over you. His body blocks the sun, his shadow gives you some relief from it.
“It was pretty hot today.” Steve agrees, lingering in his spot for a minute before he finally takes a seat next to you mirroring your posture.
“How was your date?” You try to sound interested, like you’re hoping he had the best time and was going to see her again and maybe she was the one. The thought really made you want to die a bit.
“Bit of a bust.” Steve shrugs, he doesn’t sound too phased by it. You curse yourself for wanting to smile.
“That’s a shame.” You say, shifting your weight off your palms so you can sit up straight and pick at the grass under your hands. “Not gonna see her again?”
“Probably not, just didn’t have much to say to each other.”
“But you can talk anyone’s ear off.” You tease, looking at him with your eyes squinted a little, corners of your mouth turned up. Your features look soft in the evening sun, shadows rounding out your cheeks and the little bump on your nose bridge.
“I can talk your ear off.” Steve corrects you, and gives your shoulder a light shove. The light reflecting off his hair has it turning the colour of honey, the same with his eyes. You wish he wasn’t so pretty, his face was far too easy to look at.
“Sorry it didn’t go well.” You twist your mouth to the side, eyes all apologetic because you do want him to be happy even if it does hurt your heart.
“Don’t be. It was nice enough, just not second-date nice.”
“Y’want to watch a movie? We can watch A Nightmare on Elm Street, might make you feel better.”
“Why would it make me feel better?”
“Because you’re not getting chopped up in your sleep.” You say it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Touche. Okay, let’s do it.” Steve pushes himself up off the lawn, holding his hand out to you to help you up. You put your hand in his, his grip solid but still gentle as he pulls you up from the grass.
You brush your legs off, little indents from the grass left in the bare skin of your calves. “I’ve got the good popcorn too.”
You walk into your house through the patio doors, the laminate floor cold underfoot as you pad your way into the kitchen. You root through the cupboards, pulling out the various tins and boxes of health food your mom had stocked up on until you finally find the popcorn.
“See, cinema quality.” You hold the packet out to Steve, pointing at the words printed on it.
“You’re too good to me.”
“Tell me about it.” You roll your eyes, all affection and sweetness really. You turn the stove on, placing the biggest pan you can find on the hob and letting it heat a little before tipping the kernels into it and putting the lid on top.
You hop onto the counter beside the cooker, legs dangling and ankles hitting the cupboard below you as you swing them a little. “Now we wait.”
Steve’s leaning against the island in the middle of your kitchen, hands in the front pockets of his jeans as he looks at you. You’re suddenly very aware of the fact you’ve been lazing around in the sticky heat all day, hair probably a mess and skin a little dewy and definitely not looking your best.
“Can I ask you something?” He asks, head tilted a little as his eyes stay locked on you.
You shrug your shoulders, trying your best to keep your breathing steady and not give away the fact that such a simple question has your throat drying up and your stomach twisting into a knot. “Sure, ask away.”
“Do people ever just, like, assume we’re dating?” He asks the question so casually, like he was just asking how your day had been. “Like, when you’re trying to date, do they ever say that?”
You scrunch your nose up, tongue pressing against the inside of your cheek as you try to come up with an answer, try to pull words out of your brain that currently feels like it’s been scrambled. “I d’know, I don’t date much, so I guess not.”
Steve pauses, just nodding at your response. He knew you didn’t really date, not after high school anyway. He’d never given it much thought, you’d always come away from dates complaining they were boring or got too handsy or didn’t laugh at your jokes and he’d always thought that those guys must be crazy. Because you were great, the best person he knew if he was being honest.
“Why?” You force the question out, hoping your voice doesn’t audibly crack from how much effort it's taken to say just one word.
“I was just wondering. Heard it a couple times now, and I was just curious if you had too.”
Heard it a couple times now. The words echo in your brain, bouncing around over and over to the point it was making you a bit dizzy. Your hands grip the counter beneath you to try and ground yourself.
The sound of the kernels popping against the lid of the pan breaks the silence before you have to, a silent prayer of thanks to whatever God is watching over you in the moment. You hop down off the counter to get a proper look at the pan, watching as the kernels expand and pop until the little bangs slow and you can turn the stove off.
You stand on your tiptoes to reach the cupboard above your head, fishing out the largest bowl in there and carefully tipping the popcorn into it. You finally turn back to Steve, bowl held close to your chest with both hands so you won’t drop it. “Okay, let’s go watch some people get slashed up.”
Steve laughs, the little creases at the corners of his eyes deepening with his smile. “You’re morbid.”
“No, I’m creative.” You say the words bluntly, but your eyes are still full of warmth for the boy in front of you. Even the coldest words wouldn’t be able to take away from the way you always look at him, a bit like a lovesick puppy.
You put the bowl of popcorn on the table in the middle of your living room before trying to find the tape you need from the stack around the television set. You have to check a few cases, because most of them weren’t in the right one and there was no point trying to logically work out which one it’d be in.
“Didn’t you loan this from Family Video like, two months ago?” Steve asks, already in his usual spot on your couch as he watches you open your fifth case to no avail.
“Probably, yeah.” You don’t sound too bothered by it, the late fee something you’ve never had to pay thanks to Steve always wiping it for you. Finally, on your eighth try, you pull the correct tape out and hold it up to Steve with a grin. “Got it.”
You eject the tape that’s currently in the VCR player, putting it into the case that you’d found A Nightmare on Elm Street in without checking if it was the right one, and push the right tape into the player before you stand up.
“That seems like a flawed sorting system.” Steve nods towards the scattered cases on the carpet as you sit down next to him.
You shrug. “It works for me. We don’t all work in a video store, Steve.”
“You’re right, my bad.” He holds his hands up in defeat.
You lean forward to grab the popcorn bowl and pass it to Steve. “Try it, I need an unbiased opinion on it.”
“Why would you be biased?” His question is muffled by him throwing some popcorn into his mouth.
“I bought it, I want it to be good.”
“Makes sense.” Steve nods and takes another handful of popcorn. “It’s good, but not cinema good.”
You sigh, taking a handful for yourself now that Steve had given his review. “They always lie on the packets.”
You and Steve had watched this film about ten times, including when it was in the theatre and you made him go twice. Knowing the plot back to front was really not helping to distract you from how close Steve is sitting to you, you didn’t have to pay attention because you know what’s about to happen so instead your brain is entirely focused on the fact you can feel Steve’s body heat, his leg pressing against your own and his arm resting on the back of the couch behind you.
You’re really trying to keep your mind on the movie, eyes stuck to the screen barely blinking, but your brain just won’t cooperate. It’s not like Steve doesn’t always sit this close to you, because he does. But you’re still reeling from what he said in the kitchen and your thoughts show no sign of slowing.
Steve sits up to put the half eaten bowl of popcorn back on the table, his movements making your breath hitch in your chest and your muscles tense. You think you must look crazy.
“You feelin’ okay?” He puts a hand on your shoulder, which only makes you tense up more.
“Mhm.” You hum, turning just a little to glance at him and give him your most convincing smile. “Probably just got sun sickness y’know? Brains been cooked all day.”
“You mean heat stroke?” He rubs his thumb over the curve of your shoulder, the feeling comforting in a sickly sort of way.
“Nah, different things.”
“You wanna go to bed? We don’t have to watch the movie.”
You shake your head, eyes focusing back on the gory scene on the tv in front of you. “I’m okay, I think it’s helping.”
“Watching people get chopped up?”
“Exactly.”
—-
The Hideout is dark and loud and warm, and you’re a bit out of place. You promised Eddie months ago you would come and watch his band play, always meaning to do so but things never lining up the right way, but tonight you were making good on that promise.
You try to dress the part, at least to the extent your wardrobe allows, a strappy black top and a short skirt - that definitely used to fit fine but was now bordering on indecent - all covered up by a big denim jacket that you thrifted a couple years back. A bit of eyeliner smudged across your lids, messy and already creasing with the heat of the venue.
Steve is at your side, obviously. Because he heard you were planning to go to The Hideout and there was no way he was letting you go alone, not when you look like that and the place would no doubt be crawling with creepy guys. Not that he told you all this, he just said he wanted to come along. He was always protective over you, but this felt different to him for some reason. Like, he didn’t want creepy guys to bother you, but maybe he didn’t want any guy to bother you? Those were thoughts he’d have to unpack later.
You pull at the hem of your skirt as you linger near the outskirts of the room, shuffling from one foot to another in your doc martens that aren’t quite broken in yet. You look up at Steve through your mascara coated lashes, eyes wide a bit like a deer caught in headlights, mouth open a little with your tongue pressing against the back of your teeth.
“You all good?” Steve has to shout a little to be heard over the music thumping through the venue, the old sound system struggling to keep up with the heavy bass.
You nod, eyes darting between Steve and the bustling space around you. Your hands stay at the hem of your skirt, finding a loose stitch to pick and pull at as a distraction. “I think I need a drink.”
“Yeah? What d’you want? I’ll get it for you.” Steve could see the way you were staring at the bar, it’s at least two deep the whole way along and you’re definitely smaller than at least 90% of the people waiting. It just made more sense for him to be the one to try and fight his way through.
“Just a lemonade. Unless they don’t card, then I’ll have a beer. But lemonade's totally fine.” The words fall out of your mouth quickly, the heat of the room suddenly sticking to your chest and making you feel flushed.
“Okay, just wait here and I’ll be back.” Steve steps away, but turns back to put his hands on your arms. He locks his eyes with yours, your pupils still blown from the dim lighting. “Right here.”
“Right here.” You look down at your shoes and then back up to Steve, giving him a reassuring smile that you weren’t going to move.
You watch Steve make his way to the bar, feeling a bit exposed now you’re standing alone. He turns back to you from his spot in the queue - if you could even call it that - only briefly, just to check you’re okay and haven’t moved.
It doesn’t take Steve that long to get served, probably about ten minutes from him leaving you to actually having the drinks in his hands. He tried to keep an eye on you, but the closer he got to the bar the more people crowded behind him and blocked his view. So he curses himself a little when he finally breaks through the mass of bodies to see you talking to some guy. Some guy who is definitely at least ten years older than you, and is definitely drunk.
“Um yeah, my friend is in one of the bands playing tonight.” You try to be polite, making small talk has never been your strong suit but you don’t want to be rude. Especially not when you’re on your own.
“Oh right, cool.” The guy - you think his name is Mark? He did tell you but you didn’t really listen - nods enthusiastically. “Just a friend, though? No boyfriend?”
“I, erm -“ You laugh awkwardly, not really sure what to say. You want to lie, it’d be the easiest way to end this conversation. But you’re even worse at thinking fast than you are at small talk.
You don’t have to lie though, or say anything at all, because Steve is back at your side and standing so close your body’s are practically pressed together. He holds out a cup for you to take without a word, and as soon as you take hold of it his arm snakes around your waist to hold you to him.
“Hey, honey. Who’s this?” Steve looks between you and the other man who’s now looking much less interested in talking and much more interested in leaving.
“Oh, I was just telling him that we know Eddie.” You dodge the question of who he is, because you can’t give a real answer.
“Right, and that’s it?” Steve sips his drink, not taking his eyes off the guy in front of you.
“Relax dude, I get it. I don’t want your girl.” Mark, or maybe it was Matt, holds his hands up before he skulks off back into the crowd, most likely to find his friends or another girl to try and hit on.
Hearing the phrase your girl makes your head spin, especially with Steve’s arm so tight around your waist and his body pressing into yours. You take a deep breath and a shaky sip of your drink as you try to calm yourself, because everything is fine. Steve is here and people think you’re together and it’s so fine.
“You alright?” Steve finally breaks the silence, squeezing you somehow closer to him as he speaks.
“Yeah, thanks Stevie.” You grin up at him, the low lighting doing you a favour by covering up the pink that was spreading over your cheeks.
“You didn’t wanna speak to that guy, right? Because you can totally speak to any guy you want, he just looked a bit…” He trails off, scrunching his face a little and shrugging in place of words.
You laugh, shaking your head. “I don’t want to, I’m here with you.” The words come out before you really think about them, your eyes widening a little as soon as you realise what you’ve said.
Steve doesn’t seem to react, if he heard what you said - or more so what you meant - he doesn’t show it. “Okay, good. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.”
You just smile at him, enough confirmation that you are happy. Perfectly content just in his presence. Even if the room is too close and the beer is kinda warm and you feel like you’re dressed up in a costume instead of your clothes.
When you see Eddie walk out onto the stage you step away from Steve, tugging on his hand to pull him closer so you can actually watch your friend and hopefully get his attention to prove that you held up your promise and came out to a show.
Even when you settle in a spot close to the stage, you don’t drop Steve’s hand, and he doesn’t drop yours. Your plastic cup in one hand and Steve in the other, it all feels a bit surreal. Maybe it’s the heat making your brain a little mushy.
You manage to catch Eddie's eye at some point, grinning and holding your drink up at him. He looks between you and Steve, down at your conjoined hands, and nods dramatically with a wide smile. You’re going to have to tell him it’s not what it looks like later, not sure how to articulate that with just one hand and facial expressions.
It’s nice seeing your friend so in his element, the energy of the room lifted by the band's energy on stage. You feel bad for waiting so long to come and watch, even if it was always out of your control.
Their set isn’t too long, only five songs, but they really make the most of their slot. The whole place seemed to get involved, everyone cheering when they finally finished up and headed off the small stage.
“You wanna get some air?” Steve asks, some loose hairs falling into his face as he looks down to you.
“Yeah, s’pretty hot in here.”
Steve leads you through the crowd, still holding onto your hand, and out through the venue doors into the parking lot. There’s a few people outside smoking, little groups gathered together all talking and drinking and looking like they belonged. It made you laugh a little to think about what you and Steve must look like here.
“That was fun, Eddie is so good.” You look down at the almost empty cup in your hand, swirling the remaining liquid around in it til it nearly splashes over the sides.
“Yeah, it was. Don’t think I’ll become a regular here though.” Steve laughs, giving your hand a squeeze as if to acknowledge that he is still holding it. You try not to read into it.
“Yeah, the place doesn’t really scream ‘Steve Harrington’.” You shrug, finally drinking the last of your beer. If it wasn’t warm when you first got it, it definitely was now.
You see Eddie walk outside and finally release Steve’s hand to skip over and hug him, already wishing you hadn’t let go because what if he doesn’t hold it again. You push the thought out of your head and try to focus on Eddie. “That was so good Ed’s, you looked so cool.”
“Thanks short stack.” Eddie leans back to pat you on your head. “‘Bout time you finally came.”
“I know, I don’t break promises.” You speak matter-of-factly, face all serious as you cross your arms over your chest.
Steve was beside you again, though not so close this time. “Good job, Munson. Guess you’re not all talk.” He teases, Eddie giving his shoulder a playful
shove in response.
“It’s good to see you two together. About time.” Eddie points between you and Steve, and your chest tightens as you process what he’s said.
“Oh, no, we’re not-“ You laugh, but it comes out awkward and forced and you look between Steve and Eddie and the floor and try to bargain with the powers that be to strike you down.
“Oh, shit, my bad.” Eddie looks around the parking lot, pressing his lips together as he sighs. “Better hurry it up Harrington, or someone else’ll snap her up.” He pats Steve on the back, and you look at him like he’s gone absolutely insane.
Steve nods, a weak laugh at Eddie's comment giving nothing away about how he feels about it.
You take a deep breath through your nose, hoping the cool night air might stop you from passing out on the spot.
“I better get back inside, have a good night kids. Stay safe.” Eddie waves you off as he walks back inside, disappearing into the dark room and leaving you outside with all the tension and awkwardness in the air that he’d put there. You’d be mad at him if he wasn’t such a nice guy.
You and Steve are both quiet for a minute, and you think this is finally it. You’d managed to keep your friendship untouched by your feelings for so long but it’d finally come crashing down.
“Reckon we head home?” Steve cocks his head as he looks down at you, you must look a sorry state given the pity filled smile he’s giving you.
“Yeah, probably for the best.” Your voice is quiet, and you drag your feet along as you walk to Steve’s car. You toss your cups away in a bin along the way, all over dramatic and woeful as you sigh with the movement.
The drive home was quiet. Steve would try and spark up a conversation but your brain was whirring and everything felt like too much and you could barely force a coherent sentence out.
When you finally arrive at Steve’s house, and your house respectively, you feel frozen in your seat. Because what if you get out and go home and that’s that? Steve stops giving you rides to work and stops watching movies with you and stops letting you stay in his bed when you drink a little too much and don’t want to be alone.
Steve says your name, and you force yourself to stop spiralling in your own thoughts to look over at him. “I had a really nice time tonight.”
“Really? You didn’t think the place was a bit gross?” You pulled the sleeves of your jacket down over your hands, holding them in your lap.
Steve laughs, shaking his head at you. “The Hideouts always been gross. I had a really nice time with you.” Even under the dim street lights Steve can see your puzzled expression, brows pinched together and a little pout on your lips.
“Well, yeah, we always have a nice time Stevie. S’why we’re friends.”
Steve sighed, because you were right. But it’s not what he was trying to say. He was never all that good with his words, and he also didn’t really know exactly what he wanted to say. “Y’know what Eddie said?”
“We don’t have to talk about it, it’s just Eddie, he just says stuff.” You can’t make eye contact as you speak, in half a mind to just bolt from the car, hop your fence and lock yourself in your house for the rest of your days.
“Well, yeah, he does. But I guess lately I’ve been thinking about it, about us.”
You swear your heart was moments away from actually bursting from your chest it was beating so hard, your hands feeling clammy as they gripped tightly onto the denim of your jacket sleeves. “What about us?”
“Just that we’re so close, you know? You’re my best friend, but then sometimes, lately, I look at you and it feels different.” Steve tries to gauge your reaction to his words, but your eyes are staring down at your hands in your lap and your hair is falling so that it covers your face. Maybe he’s got this majorly wrong, completely misread things between the two of you.
“Different how?” All you can manage is stupid questions pushing him for more, for him to just be clear and concise and put you out of your misery.
“Different like sometimes I think I want to kiss you.”
You stop fiddling with your jacket then. The words hitting you in the chest like a semi-truck. You’re not sure you actually heard him right, because you’ve been so certain all this time that your feelings were one sided. A hopeless crush that would just burn in your chest forever, longing for more but never getting it.
“You think you want to? Or you want to?” You finally look up at Steve, turning slightly in the passenger seat so you’re facing him. Seeing the way he’s looking at you, so full of affection and like you put the stars in the sky, makes your stomach flutter like there’s a hoard of butterflies in there waiting to be set free.
“I want to.” Steve breathes the words out, soft spoken like if he says them too loud it’ll scare you away. “If you want me to.”
Your mouth hangs open a little as you try to speak, words failing you completely. So you just nod, blinking quick a few times to make sure you’re actually awake and this isn’t just a cruel dream. “Yeah, I want you to.” You eventually manage, your voice cracking a little.
Steve moves carefully, his hand cupping your cheek so softly it’s almost as if he’s not touching you at all. You breathe in deep through your nose, closing your eyes in anticipation. You’re still not entirely convinced it’s happening until you feel his lips press against yours.
It’s slow and shy at first, a little unsure of what’s allowed when you’re kissing your best friend, when you finally cross that boundary. You tilt your head into his hand some more, as if to say it’s okay, permission to kiss you the way you’ve been dreaming about.
Your hand moves to Steve’s jaw, thumb running along his cheek against the stubble that was there after a couple of days of not shaving. You part your lips a little, and Steve takes your movements as a green light. He kisses you a little harder now, still gentle but with more behind it. His tongue brushes against your bottom lip making your breath hitch in your throat.
It’s a simple kiss, nothing crazy or wild but it’s just what you want. Because it was Steve, and he wants you.
When he finally pulls his mouth away from yours, he rests his forehead against your own. “Was that okay?”
You can’t help but giggle, because it’s such a ridiculous question to you. Of course it was okay, God, it was so much more than okay. “Yeah, Stevie, it’s okay.”
“So I can do it again?”
You’re both whispering, faces still so close that you don’t need to speak any louder. “Yeah, any time.”
Steve presses another gentle kiss to your lips, just a quick one this time but still as full of affection as first. You have to blink hard when he properly pulls away from you to try and stop your head from spinning.
“I wanna do this properly, y’know. Not just kiss you in my car. I wanna take you on a real date, wine and dine you.” Steve nudges your chin with his finger, head cocked to the side as he looks at you.
“I don’t really like wine.” You shrug. “I’ll give it a try though.”
“You’re a real trooper.”
“Anything for you.” You smile sweetly, and you mean it. You think you’d do absolutely anything for Steve Harrington. But it’s fine, because he’d do absolutely anything for you, too.
