This image that just popped up on my Pinterest feed is a good example of New Agers spiritualizing health conditions that could be anything from regular PMS to shit you talk to a doctor or therapist about:

"High pitched sounds in the ears" - tinnitus is often harmless in and of itself, but it can be a symptom of serious illness.

Migraines can be set off for many, many reasons, none of which have anything to do with "DNA upgrades." If you suddenly start getting migraines, you shouldn't dismiss them.

Pain in the shoulders can be caused by poor posture/poor sitting position.

Bloating, tiredness, insomnia, cravings, and exhaustion are all PMS symptoms. If they cause problems for you, you shouldn't just ignore them.

Intense and vivid dreams can be brought on by stress and even trauma. If you suddenly start having a bunch of intense and vivid dreams that bother you, don't dismiss them.

To be sure, New Agers have been passing concerning health conditions off as "ascension symptoms" for many years now; they were claiming this kind of stuff was evidence that you were going to ascend to 5D on December 21st, 2012. Considering that nobody ascended to 5D back in 2012, I think it's safe to say that it won't happen this time, either.

so like. if anyone else, like me, still has the occasional fanfic they follow on fanfiction.net, and hasn't been getting the update emails for the longest time and was wondering if ti meant the site is on its last legs

you have to opt back in to getting the emails/notifications of new chapters every six months, because they automatically assume you don't want to know when the fics you followed for the updates have updated
