This review is going to be half in real time and half after I finished reading.

Damn that first meeting in the bar started out so awkward! LOL They were just skirting around the elephant in the room with all this small talk. They can't ask the questions they really want to ask. But let's be real, how can you ask the "important" questions to your ex without seeming like you're still hung up on them? Once they started to joke about the drinking it felt a bit more natural. And even their goodbye felt a little less awkward.

I love these lines: "The real question was—did he want to be with you again after all this time? The answer was yes—it has always been yes. You’re it. You’ve ruined him—it will always be you." It's totally believable for JK. He spent his youth pining for her. And then he had her. And then he lost her. So how can he possibly ever get over her when he's spent the majority of his life loving her?

Ugh, that executive was a pig! I feel bad that her business trip was a bust. She stirred up all these feelings for JK again for nothing. Plus now without that job, what will she do when she goes back to Korea for work?

Even them going back to his place was a bit awkward. I think you nailed that aspect of them seeing each other again. It had to be awkward at first, but then as they remember how to be comfortable around each other again, that's when it should get more natural. You segued into that comfort sweet spot really well in both scenes.

Ohhh!!!!! And there it is! “No girlfriend or anything?” She decided to break the ice! I definitely like that you had her do it. I mean, she's the one who broke up with him, she should be the one to initiate the line of hard questions.

“Yeah, I had to stay in, just in case an old lady needed me.” LOL So he purposely stayed home in hopes that she'd call him. I love that! That's adorable. He would have been crushed all over again if she didn't call him.

"Should you just be completely honest and bare your soul? You were halfway there. Maybe it was time to grow up and just say what the fuck you wanted." Yes!!! Finally!! An actual honest conversation between the two of them.

I loved everything about how they reunited. Their conversation was perfect! I'm so happy she was finally honest with him about her feelings. I loved the ring scene because it gave him the opportunity to express his feelings to her too. The kiss scene was hot too. I liked how they started slow, but then she'd had enough with the teasing. I'm happy that she took the initiative on the important things. She really needed to prove how much she wanted him. If she let him take the initiative, there wouldn't have been much growth from her. It had to come from her.

I love what you did with my word pick! It was perfect, and it had a bit of humor in it too! Exactly what I needed out of this chapter. And I'm pretty sure if you look at your word list, you can figure out which word I picked. I mentioned it a few times to you, and it was really the main thing I needed to see in this chapter.

HAHA--it *had* to be awkward!! they couldn't just pick up right where they left off, not that quickly anyway. they had to ease their way into it. It's always the initial convo that is weird, and I hoped I played into it well w/ their dialogue.

The question of having a significant other was definitely the first thing on their minds! oc didn't want to cross boundaries if he was seeing anyone--so she had to be the first one to say it lol.

I think JK really meant it as a joke since he's not really a party kinda guy. It's not mentioned anywhere, but he's a homebody (and maybe secretly wanted oc to call).

Ah, I'm so glad you liked it! I was so nervous bc I had written/read over it so many times that I almost wanted to scrap it and start over, but I'm glad I stuck with what I had.

There definitely needed to be some light-hearted moments with all the heavy conversations going on 😂

Hinata isn't as innocent as everyone sees him, he's in tune with his own feelings and knows when he's feeling something intense

That doesn't always mean he knows what that feeling is. He knows he's feeling something but he doesn't have a word to describe it

So he does the next best thing, asking someone he thinks knows better than him

Now this can go 3 ways, either he actually asks someone who understands what he's feeling even with his terrible description of what it feels like, someone like Daichi, or even Tanaka (cause let's be honest this boy would know how love feels like)

He asks someone who's equally clueless at what he's feeling, someone like Kageyama or Kiyoko

Or worst case scenario he gets teased about it and the person doesn't even tell him what it is, someone like Tsukishima or Nishinoya (who probably would tell him after Hinata begs him, but he'd probably tease him a lot beforehand)

If Hinata doesn't get an answer he'd confront you about it

He would tell you that whenever he sees you he can't help but smile brightly, not to mention whenever someone mentions you he can't help but immediately join into the conversation

He'd tell you how much it hurts him whenever he saw you sad, how much he wanted to cheer you up

He tells you the weird feeling in his chest every time you'd talk to him, though his words to describe it are probably weird, you'd get the general gist of it

Hinata wouldn't be embarrassed about it, once he knows exactly what it is he was feeling, he'd confess a second time, even if you don't feel the same, he'd just smile and say that it was okay

Cause truly, it was okay, he doesn't mind letting the feeling disappear on its own. But if you felt the same way? This boy would feel that intense love tenfold, never forgetting to show you how much you meant to him

Kageyama Tobio

Kageyama is TERRIBLE at feelings, not only would he be clueless at what the weird feeling in his stomach whenever he heard you laugh, but he'd also NEVER tell anyone about it

He doesn't know why when he looks at you everything seems to get quieter, all he can hear and see is you and your voice, it was distracting

He'd try and ignore it with all his might, you being in the same room as he would distract him so much that he wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything

It frustrated him, not only did he hate the unfamiliar feeling, but he hated that he knew you were the root cause of it

He didn't want to seem mean or cold to you, since he wanted to be someone kinder than he was

Though the final straw was when he missed a ball he wanted to set, all because you slipped and almost fell down

He would confront you and tell you to never come to his practices and not to bother going to his matches, telling your existence is a bother to him

Yes he knew those words were extremely harsh but he couldn't let a single person distract him from his life, this life being volleyball

Then he noticed something even more infuriating, your absence made a different feeling come out, a more intense, painful, and distracting feeling

At this point, I feel like either Daichi or even Ukai would notice the change in his behavior, which would lead to one of them confronting him and asking what was happening

After listening to him, they'd urge him to apologize to you and instead explain with his words why he didn't want you around, hoping to whatever god was up there that you'd understand his feelings enough to explain that he was in love

When he did that, he quickly realized the feeling at the start was a burden, he felt burdened at the fact that he couldn't confess, when he finally did and you accepted, all of those burdens were replaced with a new feeling

A feeling once again, he could not describe nor would ask people about it, all he understood was the feeling helped him, it helped him be better, and because the source of the feeling was you

He realized, you helped him be better

Tsukishima Kei

Now when it comes to our lovely salty beanstalk Tsuki, he, unlike Hinata or Kageyama knows exactly what it was

He's knowledgeable enough to know that the reason he wouldn't mind as much when you were annoying him, was because he loved you

Though at first, he'd very much disregard the fact that he loved you, to him love was such a strong word and such an intense feeling that he was a bit scared about it

It overwhelmed him and just like Kageyama, it distracted him

In the end, he would always tell himself that he'll just confess to you in the most natural and casual way just to get it over with

But when the time comes, he always backs out

He doesn't know why he backs out

Maybe it was because of the look of anticipation in your eyes that made the fear bubble up all over again, or maybe it was the way you stayed silent waiting for him to continue that made him feel unworthy of you

He's not dumb, he knows how mean he actually is, he's actually quite proud at the fact that he can come up with sarcastic and demeaning remarks to you

But at the same time he's smart enough to know that someone like you don't deserve someone like him, he's scared to be rejected of course, but he's more scared to be accepted

He doesn't want to see you with someone like him, he doesn't want you to be hurt just because you love him

But of course just like Kageyama that feeling will bubble up to the point where it's unbearable, and one day in a fit of rage whilst arguing with you

He straight-up confesses, and when he sees you frozen in the spot with nothing to say, he regrets it

He laughs demeaningly and insults you to cover his regret, leaving you just like that

You'd have to be the one to come to him the next day and tell him whether or not you feel the same.

If you didn't feel the same, Tsuki would again, insult you, demean you, embarrass you, that's just how he copes, you'd have to be patient and listen to all of his insults

If you did feel the same, Tsuki would pity you, he'd pity you for loving someone like him, but he's selfish enough to keep you for himself. He tries to be better, but he's again, too selfish to let you go whenever he goes a little too far

Either way, you'd have to be patient with him, it's his personality to be mean and salty, you can't change him just because you make him feel a more intense feeling other than annoyance, you'll have to fall in love with that part of his personality too
