Spent the last two days furiously crocheting a bag (not pictured, still blocking) and then had to leave for work before I could put the handles on and finish it so instead I started a second crochet bag. Sometimes this just happens to me.
Yarn is... I think Lopi Léttlopi in color 1706. I'm so out of practice reading yarn labels (and using millspun) and the label is entirely in icelandic so I'm not sure if Lopi is the brand or just more yarn info. Can always post the label if anyone is particularly interested. I got this last year for nålbinding practice but frankly I should have known better. I'm really liking this yarn; the guard hairs annoy me less in singles I think. Also every time I work with singles I say "man I should really spin some singles. I love working with them." And then I don't. But maybe next time.

hi its meeeee again i took this picture yesterday of my first yoke try on it looks good! its longer now though i'm almost through with the first flower motif i only have 15 rows of colorwork left actually! also i start my job at the library january 3rd and jake has assured me i shouldnt even have to buy a car, every time i brought up some scheduling problem that might arise he had an answer for it, and scheduling problems will disappear entirely when spring comes again and he can use the crown or his bikes to get around. so i dont have to be making a car payment! yay! he also said he wants to teach me to ride motorcycles when it gets warm again and keeps offering me use of the crown but im too nervous to use the crown bc its a 34 year old car and if i scratched it we would never be able to find the paint color and i would cry. it is very tempting though because the crown looks fucking sick you feel so awesome driving that thing around...1990 toyota crown royal saloon yes god. this has kind of made me want an all-black vip car from the 90s like maye a nissan gloria or smth...his is two-tone beige though and still looks super good. anyway what was i talking about. this sweater is going to rule.

Blanket! Gifting this to my aunt this Crimbus. Whee
Made with some Léttlopi yarn.
My mom had this unfinished knitted sweater (...I think it was supposed to be a sweater...) in the purple maroon and between me not knowing how to finish it (there were some wonky ass cables in it and the torso was not completed) and knowing full well I don't even like this color... I chose to frog the thing to repurpose the yarn.
Like it felt a little bad to do, but if I didn't do that then I was going to throw out the project entirely, because there was nothing else I'd do with it, and I'm not gonna waste perfectly good yarn man
And hey, this was a good amount of yarn (I know I did weight how much yarn this actually was but I can't remember for the life of me anymore, sorry) (Just believe me when I say that ball was heavy as fuck)
Not enough for a whole blanket but definitely a good start. I bought like 18 more balls of yarn (white and more of the purple maroon, though more white since I already had a ton of the poiple mawoon), and eventually got to working
Not gonna lie though, working with Léttlopi kinda sucks. Like it is a good quality 100% wool yarn (and it's not superwashed with plastic, amazing, love that), it's just that the yarn is so scratchy it was kind of painful to work with. Like to the point even the blanket was kind of unpleasant to touch because of the fibers sticking out
Thankfully the yarn softened A TON when I washed and blocked the blanket, kinda wish I had tried softening the yarn before even working with it but ehhhh it be like that, and I'm sure it'll soften even more with additional washes (but that's up to my aunt to deal with lmao)
But yeah, it sure is a blanket.
I've done so many granny square blankets by this point I thought it'd be fun to do a different type of crochet blanket, especially one where I wouldn't have to sew the damn thing together at the end for once. And it was fun, would do that again
My only regret was making the stripes of the blanket a bit too thin. There's two rows of granny clusters with a row of single crochet between them (just to add a bit more bulk to the rows). But, in hindsight, I wish I had done four granny cluster rows for each stripe, IDK I think thicker stripes would have looked better. But, it is what it is, just a good reminder for myself if I ever make another blanket like this (for myself) (in different colors)

Patient A is stuck inside a system the government vowed to fix in 2011, after the abuse of adults with autism and severe learning disabilities was exposed by the BBC’s flagship investigations programme, Panorama...
In 2015 NHS England launched its Transforming Care programme, which aimed to reduce the number of autistic people and those with learning disabilities in mental health hospitals. But while the number of people with learning difficulties in hospitals has fallen, the number of autistic people in mental health hospitals has risen by 59 per cent since 2015 to 700 (autistic people only), according to NHS figures. When taking into account autistic people with and without learning difficulties, the figures have risen from 1,100 in 2015 to 1,215 today.
“People can deteriorate because the environment is not right for them and that can make their behaviour worse,” said Dan Scorer, Mencap’s policy expert...
Experts say that for those with autism, being confined in a unit such as Patient A’s exacerbates aggressive behaviour. As a result they become trapped in a vicious cycle of overmedication and ever more draconian restrictions on their liberty.
“People with autism can have sensory problems. They need the right space to live in. A nice garden. The correct lighting. A comfortable home,” says Alicia Wood, who has studied the effects of long-term segregation on people with autism and learning disabilities for the government’s oversight panel, led by Baroness Hollins.
Some are left “traumatised” after long-term inpatient care. Moving out can initiate a period of three to six months in which “their behaviour can be extremely challenging.”
