Tonight’s breakdown comes from finding my old drawing supplies in their handmade pouches that I’d put away after graduating and haven’t touched in six years. I’d spent 20 years of my life fine tuning my selection, carefully decided what goes where and why. Then I got burnt out and put it away. I can’t believe I forgot about them. I don’t remember why I used these particular pens. I’ve never felt more like I’ve wasted my life.

are you doing alright? My cats not doing very well either right now.

It’s been rough. Today I emailed my vet to tell them it’s time to put Chloe down. She’s been sick in some way or another for several years now, so it feels a bit like I’ve been mourning her death a long time coming. I know it’ll be agony to bring her in and go through with it, but I’m trying to hold on to the fact that she’s in a lot of pain and it will only get much worse.

I hope your cat feels better, and if not, I hope you can cherish the time you have left and feel at peace with any decision you make. While discussing next steps with my vet, she suggested I think of three things my cat enjoys doing, and days where she cannot do 2/3 constituted a bad day. Weeks when the bad days outweigh the good indicates she’s suffering and it’s time to consider euthanasia. That and a quality of life form she supplied really helped me feel more comfortable coming to this decision. Perhaps it could help you as well.

the fact that Stardew Valley is a $15 indie game that came out almost a decade ago with zero microtransactions and is still receiving free DLC updates to this day is absolutely bonkers. There are $50-60 AAA games with paid DLC that have come out more recently and aren’t nearly as actively supported or updated.
