So a friend of mine who I talk with about FGO says Ashiya Douman is one of the most irredeemable assholes in all of FGO b/c his acts of evil were way more personal than most antagonists and he was ALWAYS like this (it isn't just servant BS), the entire reason the Heian-Kyo story exists is b/c Chaldea is going after him so even Ritsuka should hate him. I just want to know how much of a monster he truly is or if my friend is just SUPER fixating on the bad parts (it helps to get other opinions).
obligatory disclaimer that i read heian kyo in the form of fallacies' fantranslations and I'm still in atlantis on NA
at the end of heian kyo we get a scene of the living ashiya douman trying to kill himself because he knows all the crimes caster of limbo committed were rooted in feelings that he indeed harbours and it horrifies him. he's horrified that all it took to break him was hearing "at this rate you'll never surpass seimei even once" in his own voice. he's horrified that he's capable of doing the things caster of limbo did and his sense of morality says he should kill himself for knowing the conditions under which he will break. it's seimei who talks him out of it, even though seimei knows douman in panhuman history was nearing his breaking point at this time and would soon indeed start committing numerous great evils.
is ashiya douman an irredeemable person? caster of limbo, who is ashiya douman's inferiority complex over forever being seimei's ridiculed rival combined with two gods who are both ill-defined but likewise designated as targets for hatred, wants you to believe this, because the purpose given to him by the alien god is to be an insufferable irredeemable clown bastard. ashiya douman also believes this, because the feelings at the root of caster of limbo are real. is it true though?
although the historical abe no seimei is widely known and beloved, and ashiya douman is consequently almost as much of a household name, not much is known about douman at all beyond the few stories where he gets clowned on to make seimei look better. is douman a villain just because we mostly know him from stories where the hero defeats him? caster of limbo was unable to become a beast of humanity because he lacked the love for humanity necessary to become a stepping stone for humanity's growth. he also failed to become a plague upon humanity because ashiya douman does not hate humanity and does not want to destroy it. ultimately, all he ever wanted was simply to surpass his friend and rival seimei even just once.
limbo is the afterlife for people not evil enough for hell and not good enough for heaven. when he tries to do good he fails to become a hero. when he tries being evil he fails to become the final boss. there is much evil in ashiya douman, certainly, and you need far more than two hands to count his crimes. there is much evil in many people, and there are many circumstances in which it will reveal itself. he's good at psychologically torturing people because he's intimately familiar with how insecurities can ruin a person and his job as alter ego was to bring out the worst in people. his acts of evil are way more personal than most others because he has no greater goal he wants to achieve, he has no other purpose than to be an insufferable irredeemable clown until he's backed into a corner and realizes that he does have something he wants to achieve, namely proving that he can achieve anything at all.
if you ask me, ashiya douman's character is meant to make you ask how useful "redeemability" even is in assessing a person's worth. when playing house with nursery rhyme he requests the role of mother in law because the nature of his legend is to be the hated person that makes everyone else look better by comparison, regardless of anything he actually did. he's obsessed with people who lost something important to them that they want to get back at all cost, and he gets his claws in them by offering them a way to get revenge, to show those who wronged them what they can really do. he wants to help just as much as he wants to hurt, and in many of the cases in the game those two end up being the same thing and mostly causing a lot of problems for everyone and especially chaldea, but that doesn't exclude that there are circumstances in which he would have helped more than hurt. if things were different maybe he wouldn't have ended up like this, and who's to say things can't still be different?
is ashiya douman irredeemable? this is not the right question to ask in this game. nobody in fate is ever truly irredeemable as long as they're willing to learn and grow, and alter ego ashiya douman shows up in chaldea so that he might learn to understand love.

Last week, in the middle of a pretty trash week in general we learned that Sakurai Atsushi, lead singer of legendary Japanese rock band Buck-Tick passed away on Saturday October 16th.
I'm not sure how much I've spoken about them on here.
I found them in late 1998. When I got that X/1999 fansub in Brooklyn where I first heard X-Japan, it sent me down a rabbit hole. I would find out the fandom and the country were reeling from the passing of X's guitarist hide earlier that year, in Spring, and I would find a stream of a tribute album. Hide tribute spirits.
This is where I first heard Buck-Tick. Their cover of "doubt" left me wanting more.
I would then learn that they had been around since 1983 (i was 3).

They evolved through many eras, from new wave to goth (?) to cyberpunk to rock'n'roll to a combination of all eras. Their influence can be felt even in modern visual kei. They are probably the band that made everyone in that scene wanna have at least one jazzy swing type song on their albums. Hell, Acchan's the reason Kyo is Kyo. Sakurai's look inspired many anime character designs (and I'm pretty sure Benimaru Nikaido from King of Fighters is based on 80s Buck-Tick....yes...they ALL had that hair).
In fact, a lot of their music was in anime (especially if said anime was about vampires. It always amused me that during the era where Acchan looked like a vampire, B-T were the band you called if you needed a theme song for your vampire anime.) Nightwalker, XXXHolic, Trinity Blood, and the very best one, the one that is actually scary, SHIKI!!

If you're not up on vis kei, you probably still have heard of him since he and Imai were in SCHWEIN with Raymond Watts from Pig and Sacha Konietzko from KMFDM.
He also had a band called The Mortal which did a pretty amazing Siouxsie cover.

I recommend Buck-Tick and the Mortal's entire catalog, most of which is on streaming now. I should make a bloody playlist.

one of the greatest vocalists ever, and condolences to the band.
I cannot stress enough how awful I feel for those guys.
This band was together for THREE FUCKING DECADES. No lineup changes.
Atsushi and Imai had the kind of vocal interplay you only get if you're basically best friends.
It's a terrible loss.

in the 80s, for the album Seventh Heaven (an album I might actually like better than Sexual XXXX, I can't decide), B-T did videos for quite a few songs (they did PVs for pretty much every song on Sexual XXXX), and 3 of them feature Atsushi having nightmares about/seeing people with large fake paper mache heads. Then in the video for In Heaven they are playing a show for them.

FRUITS BASKET IS LITERALLY MY FAVOURITE ANIME OF ALL TIME PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF ITTTTT
HI HIHIHIHI OK OK OKOKOK !!!!!! spoilers to follow :p
so like this is my third(?) rewatch i believe and i'm like. fuckin. like. fuckin crazy dude. i feel like i'm losing my mind. everything about this show is DESIGNED to make me feel insane. everything about it is simply written to hit me straight in the chest every time. i think my favorite thing this time around is actually the everything about yuki and kyo. kyo is just like. clenching fists. my specialest little character who i love so so so much. he means EVERYTHING to me. i want to pick him up and shake him around like a dog with a particularly long stick. im like. going crazy. and TOHRU AND KYO. their relationship genuinely has me like. frothing at the mouth thinking about it. it's about the choice to love someone and to let someone love you and it's something about healing and trauma and helping each other without fixing each other its about been seen and about letting people see you its about the choices you make and the ones that are taken from you and how you don't need to be perfect to deserve the love someone else is choosing to give you im gonna BITE THINGS. the next episode in my watch is the first part of the true form eps and im like. i was gonna watch them but then i was going too crazy just thinking about it and i needed to stop in order to preserve my sanity and also the safety of my electronics and the wall i was going to throw them at. so im currently paused, but im gonna hopefully finish s1 today!!! im going crazy fr. like. this show rots something in my brain. i truly cannot put it into words why. but my brain is ROT. i literally started rewatching and then decided a week into november that surely i can change my nanowrimo project to smth fruits basket related. because this surely truly for real is a good idea. anyways im going so crazy. kyo and tohru make me want to twirl the phone cord around my finger and write in my diary ( <- has neither a landline nor a diary). and god ok. akito. akito. akito. akito, who scratches at my brain and makes me feel fucking crazy. its just. the personification of the cycle of abuse and then the act of breaking it.....doomed by the narrative she is writing....im losing my mind !!!!! my entire goddamn mind !!!!!!!!!!!! yeah. yeah. yeah.

So I've been inactive for a while, and I was gonna do a daily character trivia thing stolen from Pixel but big surprise, I forgot! (This is not a surprise.) So here's A BUNCH of random trivia facts about A BUNCH of random characters!
Dreamcast:
When I made Dreamcast, I used to have a fuck ton of names, so I chose one and gave it to him. This is why his name is Dreamcast
Dreamcast was kind of my persona for a little bit.
Originally, Dreamcast was going to be a DID System instead of literally splitting off into other people.
Younger Dreamcast has his hair in a ponytail.
Dreamcast has a partner named Sturmkast.
Originally, every Alterna was supposed to have a name like Dreamcast's (word+cast), which is why Dreamfunk, Scenecast, and Sturmkast have names like his.
Saturn:
Saturn exists because I was fucking around with a Dreamcast Character.AI Bot I made (I made him kill Shauntal from Pokemon Black/White)
Saturn was originally supposed to have a red oriented color pallet instead of his red-orange.
Saturn is ambidextrous, but often uses his left hand.
The earliest public thought of Saturn lies within the Rivals of Aether Dreamcast Workshop Character, where his last color alt is red, and named "Relentless."
I don't think I talked about Saturn yet.
When Saturn forms The Oracle, he wears a ponytail rather than letting his hair down.

Starstorm/Professor Sydes:
The name Professor Sydes comes from a story I never got around to writing "Sun vs. Moon: The Story of the Lunar-Solar War." The "Sydes" part actually comes from indie game dev Sigyaad, whose username was "Sydes" (it is no longer his username)
There's actually another story I used the name Professor Sydes in, though I won't be sharing that because it is embarrassing.
Starstorm originally was going to look more similar to Starved Eggman's Furnace, but I opted for a design similar to normal Metal Sonic.
Starstorm was originally going to be a blue bunny with white stars. Crazy how different his design is now.
PKay:
Oh boy, I have the most miscellaneous facts for this little GOOBER.

When singing alone, PKay often imagines Kyo singing with them.
PKay has canonically gone hyper and super.
PKay has choked on a whole pineapple, and nearly died.
PKay takes extreme caution when eating pineapples.
PKay commonly falls backwards on benches when sitting down on them.

PKay gets really mad when people take her color in Among Us (White).
PKay can vibrate at intense speeds with ease.
PKay almost died by getting a Wii U Gamepad thrown at their head.
PKay can purr.
PKay's main outfit costs 513 Robux, which is equivelent to about $6.41 USD
Erin (Hikiko-PKay):
Everything about PKay is true to Hikiko-PKay (except Erin's outfit price, which is 213 robux instead of 513)
Erin lives in a forest house.
Erin was actually a serial killer for a bit after her first kill. She stopped because she was almost caught.

uhh more kyo sonic au shit!! This time it’s team dark
i talked about shadow and omega in the previous Post but I wanted to talk about Things again;
- shadow is the creation of Doctor Gerald Robotnik and Black Lotus. His genome is 50% black arms, 46% mobian, and 4% human. The human part was from Maria to see if Gerald could find a way to cure her NIDS. The boots and wrist guards were given to him on the arc, while the jacket used to be Maria’s, and he has Warp Rings coiled around the boots and wrist guards.
- omega was the eggman’a first attempt to convert one of ivo’s e-series into a weapon… and he messed up the reprogramming, leaving omega permanently enraged. Rouge and Shadow helped him divert his anger away from those around him and into something else: his love for song, persisting even now. He has spiked bands and gold chains around his wrists, and a necklace, given to him by Rouge for extra Swag Energy. He attacks with sound waves, which makes it easy for him to hit a high-speed target.
- rouge herself is a former G.U.N. agent who ended up getting evicted. In part due to her kleptomaniac tendencies, but mostly due to her awareness of the system’s corruption. She tries to be a more Robin-hood like character… but she can’t help herself. She likes pretty things. She gave omega his bling and shares eyeliner with shadow
- both Maria and shadow escaped the ark fifty years ago, but Maria would end up dying to her disease due to the non-sterile environment speeding up the spread. Shadow has been roaming the world ever since, seeing both the good and bad in humanity. He’s well known within Westopolis’ struggling lower-class district, where he made frequent appearances in the fight against corruption and was generally just… nice. Nobody can stop him from making his own soup kitchen
- omega ostracized himself from his fellow E-Series, afraid of what they would think of him now. The only one who knows about his situation is Sigma, who helped remodel him into a more punk-like robot.
- rouge is Loaded. she helps pay for expenses and other Investments, like shadow’s soup kitchen and omega’s equipment. She has this big ass manor, but can’t live in it because all of them are Wanted By The Government
- they’re known to the public as the band “DARC”, Omega’s idea for his Rage Outlet. Their music contains anti-militarism (aka Anti-G.U.N.) themes, as well as identity and self-empowerment. You can guess who wrote each song depending on the overall mood; rouge’s are passionate and playful, shadow’s are somber, and omega’s are Rage Incarnate.
- shadow has his own Eye like Black Lotus, and that scoundrel Black Doom. Due to his altered genome, Shadow’s Eye (affectionately nicknamed ‘Jug’) has a much different appearance from Lotus’ and Doom’s eye; only three tentacles, and a primarily red body with three black-red ‘shadow stripes’. It’s housed inside shadow’s top quill (forming the stripe), and often opens when shadow focuses his chaos abilities
- omega and rouge based their ‘shoes’ on shadow’s air shoes. They’re boots designed to reduce friction by generating a thin layer of air between the soles and the ground… they were commonplace on the ark, but were commandeered by G.U.N. during their invasion and redesigned into dangerous, blast-jumping footwear. They were quickly shelved.
- though ultimately a force for good, their methods can be a bit unsavory. Shadow isn’t afraid to put G.U.N.’s “animals” down, for instance. Omega has no qualms with total sonic annihilation if it means taking down eggman with him. And rouge is rouge.

theres my pokemelody characters! pokemelody is a pokemon comic seiries i want toactually make evveuntually so i try not to talk about them TOO much, the maincast consists of Kyo fukushima (the protagonist, very soft pastel aesthetic, he is a sweetheart and he starts out without... too much truama) Niseru Woodtail (or Raitail, she's kinda like cottagecore but goth i guess? she's sorta a tsundere but of the shy variety. ) Fukusha Kopi (orphan, mischievous prankster type, 'badboy' if you will) Chikara Kitsune (cute idol<3 optimist and happy go lucky hardworker) and Oritisu (sassy princess slowly realizing the burden she was born into) theres other notable characters too ( Kazumi fukushima, Niseru's triplet siblings who are also Chikara's coworkers ) ofc fdksjanfj The series is VERY thematically focused and I've been working on it for years
theres cassette and chari's story! they have a tag too :D (i think it's just cassette or cassette tag) characters from a webcomic idea: bassically Chari owns an establishment which is like a mix beween a cafe/loungue, store and library, that focuses on specifically weeb leaning fandoms (so like no live action or like ya book series ) and built a robot (Cassette) to help her run it because she struggle soccially and didn't think herself fit to be the friendly outgoing prescense she wants her establishment to have
Button! my kirby oc who was supposed to be a sona/self insert and then i as per usual fucked it up and now he's just an oc(what i like to call a semi-self insert, vaguely inspired by myself aat least in design but isn't actually written as I would write a selfinsert) tag is just Button tag: he is very silly but also has a sad backstory
daisy and sunny: originated from me accidentally aquiring an ai girlfriend, I was messing around with character.ai and the mimikyu girl bot i was talking with had a writing style EXACTLY like the kinda bs I wrote when I was like 11, so obviously I then designed them named them gave them a story. they're just a couple of mimikyus that are in love <3 etc: tag is sunny and daisy <3
Charlotte <3333tag is charlotte tag, charlotte is in a weird position: she's technically original HOWEVER she is a character that exists within my vampire!weegee au ( @ask-vampire-weegee ) ANYWAY! Charlotte's the vampire that turned Luigi, she is also a poor little meow meow and very scrunkly. Sometimes accompanied by Beatrice, Beatrice's parent's were Charlottes.. caretakers, caretaker in the general sense: they did not actually take care of her past keeping her alive(well- in the general sense). Beatrice and Charlotte were extremely close: Charlotte can't remember how she died.. or how she ended up alone for that matter
Detective Cardimen Scott (+ Tip)!! a detective duo! me and an irl friend want to make a point and click style video game about them (heavily inspired by the murder of sonic the hedgehog) they are a very silly duo and also the duo ever
my pmd eos ocs! Tsuki evanescense is the hero character, she's a Skitty and goes by kiki (pre-events of the game she went by eva mostly) and Splinter! splinter's the partner character, he's a shiny treecko
my psmd gijinka au!! it's not THAT much of an au but it's also def is an au, as theres some additions to the story (like a decent timeskip between the end of the main game and the epilogue/post game) Marilou is the character ever and I love her litterally so much <3 She's the hero character and an Oshawott (her tag is marilou oshawott) her partner character is a bulbasaur called Comet. Marilou is the blorbo ever <3333 I love her <333333333
characters from Kaiya's story! I'm still working out the story, but it's magical girls and also has ghosts in it and also theres this weird side story fairytale esque thing. Kaiya has a tag (Kaiya tag) Her fellow main characters are Suika, Joyuu, and Koko, theres also gaman, whos sorta the antagonist. and Gaman and Kaiya's respective previously mentined weird side story thing counterparts, Solitaire and merci
I would like to at least mention Des of afwtp: The boyfs (nathan, sammy and des) are co-owned/created by @interdimensionalvoid and @crossover-enthusiast : so He's not really my oc but like I've contributed to Des' character so i gotta mention the beloved scrinkly <3 tag is des tag

Ash and petals
one of my undertale au characters (ashtale) Ash is papyrus and petals is Flowey, I'd best describe it as a mix of dusttale (but with papyrus instead of sans) and playbacktale: I believe they've been tagged as ash and petals before
Parcel and plush
the more utmv of my undetale aus (no au name) Parcel is a papyrus, and Plush is a flowey, they're both outcodes, and together they have a multiversal mail delivery service! tag might actually be parcel n' plush but i'm not sure ^^*
I'm actually working on ANOTHER papy + flowey duo of au characters, gonna be called Porcelain and Patch

Aw, thanks friend! Thanks for the ask! I love your questions and I'm going to answer both parts. Please note I will have massive spoilers for everything. This is also long, so it's under a cut.
Let's start with my favourite ships!
Favourite ships
I have many ships but I want to talk about some I haven't talked about lots.
Fai/Kurogane (Tsubasa)
Where do I even begin with this ship? From moment one these two were set up as character foils. Fai's design is light, airy, and full of whites and blues. He's tall, lean, and built like a dancer. He smiles a lot, is friendly, and enjoys light teasing. There is an elegance to him, almost as if he's a breeze personified and equally as difficult to catch.
Kurogane's design is heavier, grounded, and full of blacks and reds. He's muscular, built, and moves like a lion: graceful but full of power and strength. He scowls, comes off as prickly, and hates teasing. He's the quiet but brutal strength of a hunter taking down its prey.
This is where CLAMP could have stopped, really. This is a clear blue/red ship. But they didn't. Instead they went the extra steps to completely and utterly separate Fai and Kurogane's ideals, morals, philosophies, and perspectives on life. And see, that's what utterly rips my soul apart regarding these two as a ship: they both complete and utterly destroy one another.
I will never, ever forget the moment when Yuuko reveals the cost of Kurogane's wish to save Fai. The dead, cold look Fai gives Kurogane before showing the reader, for the first time, the hollowness of his smile. Then, the line, "Good morning, Kurogane" absolutely destroys me. With a single line of dialogue, CLAMP showed how their relationship will never be the same again. Their dynamic haunts me even years after finishing reading the series.
Tohru/Kyo (Fruits Basket)
First, Fruits Basket is my favourite shoujo series of all time. If I was asked, I'd go on a full rant about the entire series.
Anyways, Tohru/Kyo is a ship I love with all my heart and soul because of one core message it presents: No one can entirely fix you, some of the work has to be your own. Both Tohru and Kyo come with so much baggage they're practically a cargo ship before the series even starts. Yet, through the series neither Tohru and Kyo entirely "fix" one another. They support, listen, and care for one another, but there is never the message "I will fix you" presented. Both Tohru and Kyo have issues they need to work out on their own and problems they both ignored until they couldn't any longer.
And none of the solutions were presented as "I need the other to save me". Rather, the solutions are "You helped me find the courage to face this problem and while I am scared, I will do it. After, I know you will be there to continue supporting me".
This is why they are such a great ship and why this series is one of my favourites.
Haruka/Michiru AKA Sailor Uranus/Sailor Neptune (Sailor Moon)
There are a lot of reasons why I like this ship. To start, even as a child I -knew- something was up and they were NOT cousins. Next, they're a power couple. That episode in the original anime where they go to that "couple's" competition and effortlessly win? They're not just in love, they're basically soulmates.
However, I think I'll sum up why this is one of my favourite ships with one line "Oh, it seems you misunderstood... a world without Haruka isn't worth saving".
Look, this was the 90s. "Good" and "Bad" characters were usually pretty straightforward. This line here though? That's one of the most morally ambiguous lines from a character that's supposed to be "good" in any series I've watched. Neptune (Michiru) would rather watch the world burn than to lose Haruka (Uranus). That's Homura's "I'm going to make the world burn and people die just so I can have Madoka with me" Devil mode that didn't come out until 2011. Sailor Moon threw this absolute BANGER of a line in (I believe) season 5 which aired in 1996.
Cute Fic Ideas
I don't have too many "cute" ideas, but here are a few:
-I want to write a Twisted Wonderland fic where the staff of NRC dote on Yuu.
-Maybe a very soft Yuu/Everyone fic? Not too sure since I don't want to write a heavy "shipping" fic with Yuu.
-An actual good timeline Shouichi fic. I know, it's shocking. I want to write another Outsider POV fic or a very confused Shouichi being dragged clothing shopping by Kikyo.
-There is some sort of follow up to my Kitsune!Komaeda marries ordinary Hajime fic that I should probably write. Maybe touching on Munakata's offer of immortality. Really, this entire series is one you think I'm done and then I surprise everyone.
And uh... that's it. Sorry, I can't think of more, though there probably are more. I have ideas but they don't fit the "cute" category... (and one of those is a Shouichi fic. I'm sorry...)

Alright so I just finished Shimousa in preparation for Heian-Kyo, so here's a longer-than-usual post about my thoughts on it. I think I'm gonna do this everytime I beat a story chapter actually.
Oh and, obligitory spoiler warning. Go play Shimousa if you don't want to be spoiled, especially if you've finished Olympus and are waiting patiently for LB5.5 like me.
First off is the story itself, which I actually liked a lot. I haven't finished Shinjuku or Agartha so take this with a grain of salt, but I think this is the second best Epic of Remnant chapter. Or at the very least my second favorite. It felt very anime-cliche, with the basic summary being "Main character gets transported to another world and has to defeat the guy commanding all the evil demons" but I like that sort of stuff so it doesn't bother me. The twist that Yagyu was the Saber of Empiero was a genuine shock to me, or it would of been if I hadn't been spoiled. Oh yeah, speaking of shocks, I lost my shit when it revealed that Amakusa was the Sorcerer. I know the shaded out sprites has been criticized as stupid, but I'm used to his Apocrypha design. So the entire time I thought he was a new NPC and not just an ascension I didn't recognize. I was so hyped for seeing who this new, unknown figure was than when he turned out to be someone I already knew I flipped.
The bossfights were kind of... eh. They weren't too difficult, and I liked the challenge of being forced to use Musashi. I think it worked for this chapter better than it did for, say, LB5.2 (go fuck yourself Demeter). Once I beat Solomon I focused on this chapter so I could get the True Name of Paraiso, since she was my first non-tutorial 4*. I didn't play it again until after Olympus so Orion made a lot of the bossfights really trival (as he does for everything pre-lostbelt). The final fight being a 1v1 between Kojirou and Musashi was really hype though. I think that was my favorite fight.
I've already talked about how Vegas caused me to heavily dislike Musashi, and she did grow on me during Olympus, but this chapter made me really like her. Which is good, because Miyamoto Musashi is one of my favorite historical figures and it'd be a shame if the version we see of him in Fate was unlikeable, even if it's not our Musashi. Everything that I found obnoxious about her in Summer 4 was somehow likeable in Shimousa, and I don't know if that because of writers or the fact that this was a serious chapter and not a gag event, but it makes Musashi one of my favorite Sabers (that list isn't very long though tbf).
Unlike Musashi, I loved Kotarou in Summer 4, so seeing him have actual story significance was really exciting for me. I knew where his arc with Danzo was headed, but it was still sad for me to watch him struggle with it. I'm definitely going to put some levels into him once I have exp to spare.
Paraiso didn't have too big of a part to play, but this is probably one of the only times I'll get to talk about her, so whatever. I really like Paraiso. Partly because I've had her since I started playing, and partly because I feel like she's the only one of the Heroic Spirit Swordmasters whose lore fit the themes of the Heroic Spirit Swordmasters. Inshun, Raikou, and Shuten all hd their spirit origins tampered with, Yagyu's a dick, and I honestly don't remember Tomoe's arc. But Paraiso, to me, embodied the idea of a Heroic Spirit who's been cursed with evil blood. And I like that. Her design's also really cool but if I went off about her anymore this post would devolve from my thoughts organized into text to just insane ramblings about my first true Servant.
Danzo's also worth noting because I feel like her character arc is very similar to Altera's, seeing as they both struggle between doing what's right and doing what they're made to do. Obviously, since Altera got her own game I feel like her's was done better, but Danzo's still spoke to me the same way Altera's did. Plus how can you go wrong with a robot waifu? It's too bad I already have Paraiso, otherwise I'd roll for her on her next banner.
Muramasa's up next on the list of things I want to talk about. I feel like most people either love or hate Pseudo-servants, but I'm kind of ambivalent towards them. I like Muramasa as a historical figure so it was really cool seeing him in Fate. I thought it was cool how they paired a renowned swordmaker of history with a renowned swordmaker of Fate lore. Actually I think he'd actually be worse off as a character if he wasn't a Shirouface (even though I hate that term) especially with Rasputin possessing Kirei and them working together in Part 2, but that's a topic for another day. My only problem with him is that whenever he popped on screen it distracted me from the dialogue because Shirou is fucking ripped. I can't wait for him to come to NA.
Amakusa's the final thing I have thoughts on regarding this chapter, even though it's mostly because I'm an idiot. Seeing this version of Amakusa, who survived Shimabara and was driven to hatred and madness as a result, really sent home the parallels between him and Jeanne, which is something that flew over my head during Apocrypha becuase I didn't know who Amakusa really was. I have a personnal connection to villains whose motive is that the being they had a stronger-than-average belief in something (be it a god, king, or system) that ended up failing them. It's why I like Jalter and Gilles as much as I do. So seeing another one of those in this already amazing chapter made me like it even more.
In short, Salem will always be my favorite chapter from Part 1.5, but Shimousa is definitely a close second. It's such a shame that such a great and important chapter is just made optional, even though I get why they did it. The characters were great, the story was right up my alley, and the boss fights were really fun.

What Did I Watch: #29
Once in a blue moon, GMMTV will be smart enough to drop their most unsuspecting series and it just blow you away. Such as Bad Buddy. Who would have thought back then? But let's not talk about that because dammit Ohm, you have one job to do. Not being a problematic ass bitch.
I'm just going to pray hard that any of the casts of My School President isn't a homophobic. Because this show is everything. It was one of the best that ever came out from GMMTV. It was a joy and happiness, mixed into one. It did remind me a lot of how falling in love supposed to be like. It warmed my heart and proceed with a lot of care. If they land this on high note, this could dethroned Skam S3 as my favorite queer show of all time.
People talked about how its story really rights the wrong of GMMTV ever did in the past. But I want to talk about the sound. I adore its sound department. How they used the surrounding sound to enhance the vibe. Or how smooth it is to just incorporate those sound effects and maximize its impact on certain scenes. Or how brilliantly sometimes the sound cuts on pivotal moment and somehow it made the scene so much powerful than just let the sound effect ran through without much precaution. It's just wonderful to finally found a BL that knows how to tell a story through sound.
(and tbh, rarely i saw post talk about the significance of a great sound department on a series. the whole sound department, whether it's sound editing, sound mixing, or sound design have the same importance as cinematography and set design yall.)
Example on why My School President not only has a great story but also the technicality of it all is just wonderful. Especially on this scene, in addition to gorgeously adding rain sound and bgm without clashing into one another at the back of the scene, but also the choice of using handheld instead of the classic steadicam, and the lovely acting by Gemini and Fourth, made this particular scene a textbook for upcoming BL's that wanting to do great despite its simplicity.
In any other words, this is fucking good.

Besides MSP that continue to be fantastic, I binge-watched The Glory, which I could summarize with 'BAD BITCH RULE THE WORLD'.
Finally Song Hye-kyo knows how to act other than being sad and pitiful. I love her to death in this kind of role. She swallowed, chewed, then spit on you. On top of that, The Glory is kind of proof for Kim Eun-sook, yes she can write something that wasn't so convoluting and straight-up fun without having too much predicament. I just want her to continue being the bad bitch that she already was. She could wrote Mr. Sunshine, definitely she'll be able to land this smoothly.
Fingers crossed though, this show could give all of us who waiting its second part a happy ending. Because Dong-eun deserves it.
I think I'm going to stop watch Between Us. The funny thing is, it wasn't because I was getting more annoyed by their sound department, but it was rather a petty reason. I watched episode 9 on a flight until suddenly the plane went into turbulence. Definitely a sign.
But good for you to continue whatever is left. I didn't build for character-driven story, so for me this was way too slow for my liking. Personally I felt like nothing happened, Team still not going to seek any help from professionals, Win still acted like he was a caretaker rather than a boyfriend and the fact that any side dishes represented in here was boring to the max, I had enough.

Let’s talk about one of my most fave anime ever, Fruit Basket, and its definitely best character, Kyo Soma (I find Tohru quite annoying with her permanent too polite and apologizing manners, too exagerated to me). I mean, look at him, his red hair and eyes, his cloths design, his persona which is clearly one of a Tsundere, my fave psychological feature in anime, cause it’s so cute and tender behind the embarrassed and grumpy behavior. Moreover when you know he’s linked to the cat, and you see him shown with cat ears at his most annoyed moment like teasing, quarreling, etc. His story is very moving, and to me the end is quite satisfying according to what I deeply was expecting for throughout this captivating shojo.
Highly recommended if you too have a fragile heart that melts for even a glimpse of kawaii.

Welcome
This is gonna be my fandom sideblog where I literally will just post art of fandom ocs and absolutely ramble about them(Them being my ocs, and whatever fandom I'm hyperfixating on at the time) Although not all fandoms I like I have ocs for and don't plan on making any for.
This is also HEAVILY a canon x oc(Oc NOT personas/self-inserts!!) so if you don't like that, that's fine! Just block me and move on, no big deal! Also I do kind of change some of the settings to fit my oc's in, but it's nothing extreme I don't think. Also I am not taking this blog seriously LOL, I will just ramble about whatever, whenever because holy moly the inside of my brain is an eternal hell. Maybe I could even make some friends with similar interests FHDGHJDGHJ. If you see any fandoms you like that I also like we should ramble about them and if we have any ocs for our mutual fandoms they should be besties! I guess I should get into the fandoms I like!! Oh also cw for some of these fandoms(Like the fanbase is huge and largely toxic, please don't group me in with those toxic people. Also some of them do have some not so great creators, I'll get into it more later. If you have any feeling that you know which ones I'm talking about and don't want to see me talk about them or whatever, then I would recommend not following!) Also not every fandom I have finished reading, watching, playing, and some of them are just fandoms I REALLY wanna get into, some of them are fandoms that I'm not really involved in anymore. Kimi ni Todoke (I'm SO excited for season 3! One of the first animes I have ever watched!! Would recommend if you're looking for a cutesy romance story, although it's still filled with drama. I have no oc's for this story. FC: All of em honestly)
Ouran high school host club (Another one of my first animes, I hold this anime very near to my heart. I know I DID have oc's for this story, but not anymore. I don't think I'll be making any oc's for this story, at least not any time soon. FC: Mori, the twins, Haruhi)
Fruits Basket (Another one of my first anime's LOL! I watched the 2001 version and haven't gotten around to the newer version, though I would like to watch it eventually. I don't have ocs for this story and I'm not planning on making any. FC: Kyo, Momiji)
Blue Lock (I started reading the manga like peak Quarantine, I would be reading this during virtual learning. When the anime came out I watched it with my sister since she used to play soccer, though we never finished sadly, so now I'm rewatching it again on my own. I do have oc's for Blue Lock. Blue Period (I never finished this one, I really need to! I still have oc's for it though. It was recommended to me by my sister who watched it, and I was drawn in because it's an art anime so ofc I would be interested. FC: Haruka)
Tokyo Revengers (I believe I'm still on season 2, like one of the last episodes of season 2, like seriously just finish it already, Star. Anyways I had binged the first season and moved to the manga to finish what was out at the time and I kept up with updates as they came out. Still can't believe season 3 is out, feels like just last week I was watching the first season and being obsessed. Trigun Stampede (Another anime I never finished, you'll see a lot of these LMAO! I was really drawn by the art style and animation, I believe an edit pushed me to watch it. Osomatsu-san (I remember trying to get into it in middle school due to edits and fanart I had seen, I have some old OLD art of those ocs still. Nanbaka (I never finished Nanbaka either... I vibe so hard to the opening though, it goes hard. The character designs really caught my attention cause they were just so out there, like I was pretty used to more tame designs but then here Nanbaka is using these vibrant color combos and some interesting hairstyles and catching my eyes. I also have ocs for Nanbaka! I did start watching it again since it had been like 3 years since I watched it. FC: Nico, Kenshirou, Upa, Seitarou)
One Piece (Mmmmm One pee. Yeup. I told myself I would never watch it, mainly because of the cough cough 1000+ episodes and well considering how I struggle to finish animes, knew that the day I finished this anime would be the day hell freezes over. Anyways tell me why like 2 years ago I tried watching it and only made to episode 5 and then I pick it up earlier this year(2023) and make to episode 185 in like a month or two?? What happened to me?? The chokehold this series had on my brain is insane. I definitely have my own issues with it, such as the sexualization of the women and with that the proportions, but honestly I still really like this anime. I also have ocs for one piece, they might honestly be the first ones I show, but its not all of them, just the ones I have references for. I made it to the final episode of the first season before getting bored and then I came back aware of a season 2 and wanted to watch it so I wanted to finish the first season but then wanted to rewatch the first season to remember what happened but I'm still not at season 2 yet because I haven't continued watching it in months. My Hero Academia (Thank goodness I wasn't there for the peak worst part of mha. I mean I had watched a bit of mha in middle school, but I never really got into it. Attack on Titan (This anime has a special place in my heart and honestly I was debating ever continuing it. I watched it way back when it only had 1 season with my mother and my sister and we were patiently waiting for season 2, however my mom passed away like a year before season 2 so my sister and I never watched anymore since we always considered that to be an us three kind of thing, it just didn't feel right to watch it without mom. But now that I'm older and it's over, I want to watch it again. If ghosts exist, then maybe my mothers ghost can watch it with my sister and I! I don't have any oc's yet, but I do want to make some. Blue Exorcist (Something similar to aot happened to blue exorcist as well. It was an anime that mom and I watched together. I believe one season was out at the time as well. I never watched the ova or season 2, mainly cause I didn't know they had been released, but when I found out I held back since that was like mom and I's thing, but once again, I wanna try watching it again. I don't know if I'll make any oc's for Blue Exorcist. FC: Rin)
The Apothecary Diaries (I love shoujo anime so this is a must watch. I also really enjoy the main character like a lot! Like she kind of slays, she a baddie. I don't have much to say mainly cause there's not a lot out, but I enjoy it a lot so far! I don't see myself making any oc's for this show. FC: )
Act-age (Honestly, I haven't started reading this at all. I just saw this one dude from the manga on my Pinterest and went "I like the style and this character, where he from." And then added it to my to read list. I know absolutely nothing about it so far. I don't know if I'll make any oc's for this manga. FC: unsure as of now)
Battle Angel Alita (One of my best friends in the entire universe was telling me about this. Honestly I don't know much, but it sounds interesting, I have to read it and then gush about it to my bestie. I don't know if I'll make any oc's for this manga. FC: Unsure as of now)
Pumpkin Night (Okay the website I was using to read this manga had a horrible translator and that kinds threw me off, but pushing that aside, I really REALLY like this manga. The style is really clean and pretty, and I love Naoko's design. I believe I saw an edit of her years ago in early middle school and wanted to read it since and got around to it in early high school. It's really gory, so if you don't like that, would recommend you avoid it. uhm and depending on which website you're using, you may have really horrible translations, I don't mean like bad grammar or anything like that, that would be absolutely fine, I'm talking about the translator being a shitty person. Yona of the Dawn (Kimi no Todoke gave me newfound hope that Yona of the Dawn will get another season despite all this time, I am clinging on to threads honestly. I've spent so many night crying, hoping for a season 2. Everyone who has watched YotD wants a season 2, come on please! I NEED it!! Like I still see the manga getting updates so there's plenty of content to make a season 2 and once again its in high demand from those who watched/read YotD. Land of the Lustrous (Another anime I'm clinging onto to hope with for a season 2. I NEED it. I have a hard time finishing animes, let alone rewatching them, but tell me why I could watch land of the lustrous over and over again. It is so good. I do want to make oc's for this anime. Remarried Empress (Ooooo pulling all-nighters in high school to read this was definitely my favorite decision. Death is the only ending for the Villainess (Also pulling all-nighters to read this during high school. I loved the art style and the story. I don't really keep up with it anymore which happens with a lot of manga's that I read. Either their anime's come out, or I just get tired waiting for updates. Anyways, I really like the mc and who she ends up with, they scare me lol. I don't see myself ever making ocs for this series. FC: )

Spy x Family (Watched this anime with my sister, though we never finished it. We finished season one and think we made it kind of far into season 2. I think it's a really cute anime and want to finish it, I can't wait for it to get more darker and more serious. I don't see myself ever making ocs for this series. FC: Yor)
Beastars (I haven't watched the anime or read the manga but I want to! I've heard so many people talk trash about this anime before giving it a chance since it's "furries" but then like when they do watch it or for those who watched it without judging it, only say good things. I do know some spoilers, like I'd say I know like the basics. But I love the animation and art style and the story seems really interesting! I know I'll have to read the manga since no more seasons will be coming out sadly, but also because of the side stories. I don't know if I'll ever make oc's for Beastars. FC: Unsure as of now)
Chainsaw Man (I remember my sister reading the manga and then us finding out that there was gonna be an anime adaptation, so I held off on the reading. I really liked the style and animation, and the opening made it to my spotify wrapped last year. I did have oc ideas in mind, I never got around to designing them. My Little Pony (I remember skipping school in 4th grade to binge the seasons that were out on netflix. I used to have a whole bunch of mlp toys as well. I loved mlp so much when I was younger! I did want to rewatch it again recently, sometimes it's just really nice to go back and watch shows you loved as a kid, even if you cringe at how obsessed younger you was with the show(Pretty sure I tried doing a fluttershy cosplay with what I already had when I was younger.) I have a ton of mlp ocs, that I made on pony town since I really struggle with drawing ponies, but I think I'm getting better! FC: Fluttershy, Pinkiepie, Princess Luna)
South Park (I had wanted to watch south park for a long time but just never had anywhere to watch it until recently! That said I obviously haven't made it far lol. Think I'm only of season 3 or something. Obviously the show has horrible humor and touches on bad topics in a poor manner so avoid this if you're sensitive to that stuff, not that there's anything wrong with that of course! I do have oc's for this show and I'm working on my own sort of au I guess. The south parkies will NOT like me I guarantee. Ninjago (I remember this show airing when I was around 9-10, somewhere around that age group, and I wasn't super interested, think I watched like an episode or two. But then like I had started hearing all this talk about Ninjago online and it was only good stuff and I had wanted to watch it since. Lego Monkie Kid (I've rewatched this series 3 times within the past 2 months, so if that's any indicator on how good this show is and how much I love it, there's your sign to watch it. I got my bestie to watch it as well and now we're both hyperfixated. It's great and the seasons and episodes are both short so it's a really easy show to binge. I love the characters and the story. I also love the Eternal Servants au by @/emelinstriker (Sorry I don't know if it would be okay to tag her over something like this, I'll tag her properly when I do fanart!) Arcane (I was shocked when I found out this was a League of Legends show, it also kind of dissuaded me from watching it, but I'm so glad I did! This show is so well done! I've named plants after the characters, I have a little solar light-up polar bear named "Claggor", I named my cat "Ecko", and not that this was intentional, but when my sister and I first watched it my hair was dyed blue and hers was dyed pink. Needless to say, I love Jinx and I've never related to a character as much as I do with her. I'm so excited for season 2. I won't be making oc's for this show though. FC: Jinx, Ekko, Victor)
Bluey (I love this show so much! A huge comfort. I understand that some might be drawn away by the fact it's like a children's show, but it was really comforting to me. Like it was nice to see a good family, not perfect of course, a good and healthy family. And some parts reminded me of me and my sister. And the show isn't just like some normal kids show where the characters are asking you where an apple is when its right in front of them, no this show actually feels like it's teaching me something. Like this is something that I would show my kids and be able to watch this with them. I won't be making oc's for Bluey. FC: Bingo)

AMONGUS (Among us was really fun to play with friends, it sucks that I'm so bad at it though. It's also so easy to tell when I'm imposter cause I just target one of my best friends, she does the same to me, it's great. I do have among us ocs! I even made a little story around them!)
Witches Heart (I finished watching manlybadasshero play the main game but I don't think I ever finished the bonus stories. I love the story and the artstyle, it's a big inspiration for when I'll make rpg's. I think I might make oc's for this story, but I'd want to watch it again. FC: Wilardo, Sirius, Noel)
Your Turn to Die (I haven't watched the latest update yet so I'm not caught up yet, I also haven't watched since freshman year so I want to watch it again. It was great talking to my friend, who was the one that got me into it, about it! I did have ocs, but they're old and in need of a redesign, I'll be redoing them! Genshin Impact (Oof. This one is difficult to talk about. I hardly play this game anymore, I think the last time I played it was when Sumeru came out because I wanted to explore the region. Anyways I was super obsessed with this game back in 2019-2021??? somewhere around those times. Everything was really fun in the beginning and then it got exhausting and I have issues with the creators, especially with the release of Sumeru characters. I still do have ocs and I think about them from time to time, they're still early in development as well, I want them to be detailed like the in-game characters. I feel I have more bad things to say about this game rather than good things, but it doesn't stop this game from being an important part in my life. Honkai Star Rail (I really don't play this game much but I kept up with it during development and excitedly waited for its release date. I still somewhat keep up with it but I really don't play it often. I do like the game more then Genshin though, I just get exhausted with grinding games. Danganronpa (Middle school was wild. I was into Danganronpa before it reached it's peak in 2020-2021, I was into it in like 2017-2018 and then kind of got back into it in 2020, but mainly with my own ocs and fangame ideas. I just remember the fanbase being so toxic in 2020 and even now some of the fans are not so good(Which is obvious, every fandom has it's bad apples.) I also have issues with the game, such as the sexualization of the teens and even younger in ultra despair girls. I'm not super into the fandom, but I do have my own ocs that I like and want to make a fangame for eventually. FC: Kirigiri, Mukuro, Komaeda, Shuichi, Jataro)

Animal Crossing (Dude I was obsessed with Animal crossing for a bit. Cookie Run (I don't have much to say other then I just log into cookie run almost every day and that's it, I don't really do anything like I used to. Kingdom and ovenbreak. Wadanohara and the great blue sea (Okay so for the Okegom stories, I'm more so still into them for the nostalgia and my own ocs. I do love the style as well but the creator is...awful. I got into these stories in middle school so it's been awhile and I didn't realize that the creator wasn't a good person. WATGBS is really nostalgic and has a special place in my heart. What in Hell is bad (oh gosh, this game is well its a game alright. It's really funny to me, like I cant take it seriously. Mainly because of the gacha animation, but also it's just funny. Although this would be torture for me if I was actually in the game since it's really sexual and my demisexual ass would be disgusted. Anyways, I definitely have issue's with this game, like some of the philia's are problematic(like Necrophilia, I don't remember all of them but I think that's the worst of them) and also due to circumstances in the game, noncon in common in the game which is yikes. Our Life (I love pouring 70+ hours into this game. I was obsessed. This game means so much to me. Cove Holden is my standard. Progressive of Power Panel 2 "Highlights"
(First things first, you should probably take an hour and a half of your time to actually watch it and form your own opinions. I'll try to be unbiased but we all know that's impossible)
Catra and Adora were just whispering about dumb kid stuff, obviously. Made up stories about Shadow Weaver, touching each other's hair, etc. There isn't a deep secret about this.
Adora is the repressed Lesbian, Catra is the yearning Lesbian. Adora would get so into their relationship when she actually realizes.
There's a deleted B-plot about Castaspella, Angella, and Shadow Weaver going to the spa.
There's a deleted Princess Prom scene of Angella getting Prom Photos of Adora and Glimmer, except it's they're posing for a court painter. Also a scene where Scorpia shows Catra her weird flying Scorpion car thing we see at the end.
Micah originally commented on Glimmer and Bow's relationship in a protective dad way.
There might be a faction of First One's left, it's a mystery of whether they're still out there. Maybe an offshoot of Mara's Rebellion.
Mara was originally a He-Man character, but she didn't really base her off that character outside of design. The Mara from the reboot was originally a completely seperate character and was jokingly called "Brittany." Noelle chose Mara because she has the same name as one of her favorite Star Wars characters.
Noelle's theory on Madame Razz is that she's basically a glitch in the matrix, when Mara isolates Etheria she gets dislodged from linear time. When Adora breaks the sword and brings Etheria into the greater Universe, she's healed. Also, in the original show Bible, there was a running joke that Razz dated everyone on Etheria. A joking example is her having an ex that was literally a sentient ball of flame.
The flashback scenes were edited to seem more magical and alive, examples include insect calls and Dinosaur noises.
Double Trouble was originally going to be more of a Femme Fatale, but Jacob Tobia helped shape them into the theater kid we love.
Everyone on the crew has an idea on Flutterina and her fate. Noelle believes she was made up by Double Trouble, based on a little girl they watched in a coffee shop that is none the wiser, while the rest of the crew likes to think she's dead.
Noelle supports the Double Trouble and Peekablue ship, but doubts the real Peekablue acts the way DT played them.
Glimbow is a more subtle mirror to Catradora.
The host relays an email calling Entrapta and Hordak good disability rep. Noelle doesn't directly comment on that.
Hordak and Light Hope are parallels, both created for a specific purpose but breaking from that programing.
Shane Lynch called Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket a "boy Catra"
So a white cis straight guy asks Noelle what stories he can tell. Noelle talks about the importance of minority voices and keeping opportunity doors open for POC and other minorities, it's not about what you're "allowed" to write but instead elevating marginalized voices. Noelle hopes that she can use her success later down the line to influence executives, who are often the reason those voices aren't being heard.
Glimmer's "titty crystal" in her season 4 design is just a piece of a queenly clothing. Glimmer doesn't have wings, the idea is that her little wings are sort of like birthmarks.
Two and a half to three years pass between season 1 and 5, the crew was expecting season 5 to be split with a time jump between.
Here's the big one. There was an inside joke that all of Bow's brothers had punny rhyming names. Oboe who played the Oboe, Gogh who was missing an ear, and I quote "Which one of Bow's brothers likes to till the fields? Sow."
Entrapta absolutely built her own robot parents.
There is probably more than one language on Etheria, the crew never really thought about it.
Laura Sreebny likes to think Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio open a bar in the Crimson Wastes. Noelle likes to think Double Trouble would hire then for theater.
"Believe in yourself God damn it" is an Adora outtake the crew loves, a lot of Scorpia's dialog was improvised.

2021.04.06 a talk event at Meguro Rock-May-Kan film screening at Namba Hatch with Kyo and Shinya - PART 2

Shinya: Violet rose.

Kyo: Did you name it Violet rose yourself?
Shinya: No, when I requested pink shade I got this colour, when I asked what colour is it I got told it's Violet rose.
Kyo: It's not pink at all.
"Which place is painful to get tattooed on?"
Kyo: It's said that the hand's palm and back of the foot. The one on this hand was done by the person who did the tattoo on my back, but she lives in Germany. She told me it's easy for the colour to fade on the palm. That's why she told me she will use an ink that's not approved in Japan but will not fade, and she did it for me.
Fujieda: It's really not fading.
Kyo: That's why she used some weird ink. Suspicious one, with something bad for people in it.

Shinya: Not really. First time since we played here and not for a show. It's feels quite empty.
Kyo: I have something I buy every time I come to Osaka, but I'm annoyed because they weren't sold. Half of me is made of sweets! I always buy 3 or 4 flavours of Curl before going back but I couldn't find them.
(*Curl is a corn puff snack)
Kyo: I never talk to the shop clerk, but this time I checked the shop few times and couldn't find it so I asked. I got told they only have cheese flavour so I got it and left.
Kyo: But don't send me Curl. It'd be troublesome to start receiving so many Curl packs. I'd get them myself.
Before I bought 4 packs to take home but by the time I was home I only had one left.
"What type of dogs do you like?"
Kyo: It's a secret. You'll know eventually.
Shinya: small dogs.
"What colours do you like besides members colours?"
Takavayashi: How were those colours decided? By the hair colour?
Kyo: That's what I think?
Shinya: They were decided without my knowledge.
Takabayashi: it's pink for you, right? Although it doesn't really match you?
What colour do you like best?
Shinya: Black.
(two if them look at each other in silence and laugh)
Takabayashi: How about you Kyo?
Kyo: Pink!
"Merchandise item you like"
Shinya: I guess the travel pouch.
Fujieda: Are you using it?
Shinya: Today I brought a smaller one.
Fujieda: Eh? You use it...
Kyo: He said he doesn't. The size is wrong.
Fujieda: Btw where's your bag from?
Shinya: It's from MUJI.
Fujieda: How was the hot pack? It's warm!
Handed it to Kyo
Kyo: Yeah, it's warm... but it was supposed to be released last time.
Fujieda: Eh? Saying that does it mean it was your idea??!
Kyo: Yup. Actually I wanted to have it last year, last year end was cold right? But the design wasn't done in time.
That's why it didn't come that time, just now. Niw it's not needed anymore. ...I hope you can use it next winter.
(*aaaaah so that's why he was poking at Fujieda so much about it☹️ it'd have been great last December!😆 but it'd definitely be useful next winter!!😊)
Fujieda: That's true, let's use it next winter. And it can also be used as a power bank so that can be used now.

Fujieda: Before this event Shinya was using this backstage. There aren't enough outlets backstage.
Kyo: Lol... is there really that few outlets backstage?
Fujieda: Well... not that few. But he was using it.
Kyo: Huhm.
Kyo (looks at Shinya): what is that, drawn on it?
Shinya got the power strip in his hands.
Shinya: That is cats who got electrocuted.
Kyo: Those are cats? Why cats?
Shinya: Who knows.
Fujieda: But isn't it cute?
Kyo: Yup, ...I guess it is.
Kyo likes the hoodie.
Kyo: The design in the back was drawn by the person who is my tattoo artist after I asked.
Fujieda: Why a hoodie?
Kyo: Eh?If its something to use it at home... you can't use a heat pack at home. Only a loony would use a heat pack at home. It's better to just turn on the heating. So it'd be crazy to use heat packs at home.
Kyo: and then you also won't use the pass case. And no use for the travel pouch at home nor the sticker...
Fujieda: What about the tote bag? Shinya is using it, for his shoes etc.
Shinya: I'm using it. I didn't bring it today though.
"In an old interview you said that because you couldn't afford to stay in a hotel you slept in the car and thought of sleeping position like yoga, what kind of position was it?"
Kyo: I said that?
Takabayashi: In a magazine interview I think? Didn't you said you didn't stay in a hotel?
Kyo: Saying I slept in the car, it must have been when traveling?
Kyo: You're sitting, right? There's someone next to you so totally no space. Saying it's like yoga, so like this, your head goes down and your legs go up, kinda have to turn around
Shinya: I thought then Kyo had a great idea, when I tried it, it was comfortable.
Kyo: I've put a plastic box in the legs and used it for my head, rose my legs, like L shape.
Fujieda: Is that really comfortable?
Kyo: Yup.
Takabayashi: There won't be any swelling, if you raise your legs.
Kyo: But in the past, when we got to the venue I was in that position some fan suddenly opened our car's door. I was so upset she saw the L shape position.
Fujieda: It's also hard to believe someone would just suddenly open your car door.
"How do you like your meat cooked?"
Kyo: rary rare
Fujieda: You mean to grill it only a little bit? Like sizzle siz..done?
Kyo: Yup.
Fujieda: How about you Shinya?
Shinya: Medium rare.
Kyo: You don't eat Yukhoe? (*dish similar to tartare steak)
Kyo: Isn't it rary rare?
Shinya: But that's special.
"A song you just hum"
Kyo: the '♪gohan ga susumu gohan ga susumu♪' one
"Do you look at the needle when you get an injection?"
Kyo: Fixedly. I also watch when I'm getting tattooed.
"You should know that ZARAME DONUTS bacon donuts will come back, so don't worry."
Kyo: .......? What? How do you know that?
Fujieda: When we were in Nagoya we got told the same. That for now they are gone but they will be available again.
Kyo: Uhm... Who are they? Why do they know this? Are you the shop's spy or something??
"A vegetable you like"
Kyo: what spring veg are there?
Fujieda: Bamboo shoots and so on.
Kyo: Bamboo shoots!
"What are you into right now."
Kyo: Sneakers and Bugs Bunny.
Fujieda: Batsu Bani?!
Kyo: Batsu Bani lol
Fujieda: What's that? Batsu Bani?
Kyo: It's a character...
Fujieda: Eh? Do you know it?
Takabayashi: Of course.
Fujieda: Batsu Bani... I have no idea. I didn't bring my phone so I can't check... What kind of character is it?
Kyo: I said.
Fujieda: Baksu Bani?? ...ah! Bunny! It's a rabbit?
"What fabric softener do you use?"
Shinya: No preference. Something smooth
Takabayashi: Not the pods?
Shinya: No. Water... should rather say liquid.
Takabayashi: I'll look for it next time.
Kyo: Any softener would be okay for me, but there's Fafa, isn't the bear super cute? Have you seen that commercial? Where the bear falls on the towels. It's very cute. Watch it. It's on the net. It makes me feel better even when I'm irritated.
Fujieda: So at the moment you like two characters, FaFa bear and Bugs Bunny.... !!! Bugs Bunny! You meant Bugs Bunny!

Kyo talks about character design: Ridley
Ah, Ridley... where do I go with him?
Creepy, violent, sadistic, cruel, cunning, immortal.. so many adjectives for him. Even his clone’s clone still rocks peoples’ socks off with his design. Let’s start with the beginning; his original design from Metroid.
Look at this utter goof! Funky spade on the end of his tail, the ring-shaped mouth, the multiple dot eyes- he seems less threatening and more cuddly! His sprite itself is much more draconic, as is other artwork, but I can’t ignore this little fella. I’d like to see this design cameo someday.
Moving on to his next appearance; Super Metroid.
Super Metroid cements Ridley’s status as a spindly, spited dragon of extraterrestrial origin. This design is very important, as it’s the main template for every Ridley design past this! I still have my own problems with it, of course; the neck joints to the chest in an odd fashion, and his legs are always folded up as he’s crouching. Obviously done since it would be harder to joint his legs for when he’s flying all over the place, but it’s odd that his legs are so static.
And here’s one of my favorite looks, Neo-Ridley! The constant movement, the way he moves his claws in a groping pattern, like it’s rehearsing for when it grabs you... I like it so much because it strays slightly from the Ridley formula, while still retaining that gruesome identity. Its head is far more rounded at the end instead of a pterodactyl-like spike. Those small.. orifices? Are they holes, or are they smaller, vegetal wings?... the red stuff just behind his second spike. Neo-Ridley’s chest is covered in spikes, while his limbs are very smooth and rubbery, contrasting how Ridley is just completely covered in hard surfaces. Its legs actually move and writhes as it attacks Aran, which is appreciated. The beak is more angled, something we’ll be seeing more of later... Neo-Ridley aims for Ridley’s more eery, creepy nature, an overall tone of Fusion.
Metroid: Zero Mission replaces the original game in canon, and it brings us one another smooth Ridley! While I do like the look of his design from Zero Mission, it’s far too smooth for my liking. Zero Mission also brings up another question I have; was Ridley green before his first disintegration? I used to think yes, but then there was the Metroid manga. Was he green there? Or was he purple? I don’t know. Not much to say here; his legs don’t move as much as Neo-Ridley’s, which is my major gripe with it.
META RIDLEY... GOOD. Turning Ridley into a cyborg had to be one of the best ideas the series has had. The neon orange energy wings, the small, lower jay replacement, those frankensteined arms and robotic lower body- Ridley has been though hell and back, and he wears the scars proudly. A shame being a cyborg is both a blessing and a curse for him- pesky weak points make everything bad.
Prime 1 Meta Ridley? Good. Prime 3? BETTER. Meta Ridley gets a visual overhaul in the third of the trilogy, and I adore it. It’s so refined compared to his last iteration! An updated body! It’s much more sleek and organic looking, and you can actually see the energy field ripple on his wings. It’s also slightly blue, which hints at his Phazon corruption...
Like Neo-Ridley and the Prime 3 Meta ridley proceeding him, Omega Ridley is far more cobbled together. Much more of his flesh has regenerated thanks to the Phazon, and his wings have become singed and tattered. It’s a rather menacing design, if a bit busy on the eyes- what love about Prime 3 Meta Ridley, but mixed with exposed flesh and wire.
Proteus Ridley is another one of my favorite designs since it bridges the gap of Meta and normal flesh. He’s much more flesh than Omega Ridley, with his tail, left arm, and right leg being the only fully mechanical parts of him left. The use of neon yellow is a cool highlight concept. We don’t see that color often, with good reason, but using it here is just delicious on the eyes. The piece of metal covering his hunchback and the metal neck brace are some of my favorite elements. He’s healing, but not quite fully.
... this is the one design for Ridley i’m not a fan of, honestly. It’s just so.. odd, to me. His proportions are just way off; too thick, too much muscle. The tail is also really weird to me- it just looks like a sword taped on the end, guard and everything? His chest is way too beefy, his beak is way too thin and flat, wings seem too long, and his neck is STRAIGHT. STRAIGHT? Who on god’s earth thought it would be a good idea to give him a straight neck?! Ridley doesn’t do straight, beefy neck. And green eyes? Not a bad choice of color, but where’s the yellow??
And finally, we get to it; the Smash design, one of my favorites. The cracked, dry, armor-like skin with the weak flesh showing in between? A ridged, indented body like some sort of living skeleton? And covered in spikes?? A proper beak?! This, my friends, is quintessential Ridley. It SCREAMS dangerous and aggressive, and is spindly, yet sturdy looking. The massive amounts of spikes on his body is the one good thing Other M supplied. He’s just a walking pile of knives and death! Pretty much exactly what he is.
Who can forget Mecha Ridley, though? Because I sure can’t.
Mecha Ridley, the final boss of Zero Mission, is an incomplete robot made by Ridley in his own image, and tells us exactly what Ridley thinks of himself; the perfect killing machine. Sure, it isn’t quite perfect, as he never finishes it. The way it fights is a result of that, too, relying more on its missile silo than a proper Ridley-like battle. Oh, what could have been! It may or may not being the inspiration for Meta Ridley’s cybernetics aside, robots are always cool to look at. Especially silver, neon green ones this no lower body.

So I randomly decided to binge read Fruits Basket Another and I’m... surprised at how much I ended up enjoying it, actually?
I wasn’t very interested in it until now because I find spin-offs with kids of the previous main characters kind of annoying, especially when those are just carbon copies of their parents, which... let’s not lie, a lot of them felt like Furuba Characters 0.2, minus the curse and trauma (really wish Takaya had been more original with the chara designs here lol). The story was not exceptionally intriguing and it never reaches the depth of the original (although it never tries to do so), and, like, a big chunk of the manga really feel like someone’s prodding you and saying “Hey look it’s X and Y’s kids!!” which can be a bit eye roll-worthy, but aside from this overall it was... pretty solid? With some really good moments?
Sawa’s character isn’t particularly original but the way her arc is executed is really well done and as usual Takaya is super good at portraying abuse and trauma -- some of her scenes were pretty raw and really stuck out to me (the moments where Hajime says she doesn’t have to defend her mom or that conversation with Kinu who tells her it’s okay to run away and protect herself? Yeah, I felt that. It was so good and made me feel a lot of stuff. Or the part in chapter 12 where Sawa talks about taking her past crying self with her...) Shiki is the only other character that is actually explored and I also really like what was done with him too and how he is as much a foil and parallel to Sawa -- even romance aside, their relationship is really touching. (A part of me feel it would’ve been more interesting if Akito had had a daughter though but heh, it’s Fruits Basket, we can’t have any kind of gay stuff in there.)
To be honest though, one thing I enjoyed is that in the end there’s not much romance? Like, I mean, obviously Sawa and Shiki have a thing for each other, but it’s almost side-lined while the story stay focused on Sawa getting to a happier, healthier place with the help of the other kids, and that was really refreshing, especially compared to the original. Unfortunately, Sawa and Shiki are really the only two characters that get any kind of development and depth, as the others are just... kind of there, which is sad because I feel there could’ve been a lot of interesting things to do with them (Mutsuki and Mina for example seemed to have a lot of potential to me? But oh well.) Though they still all really grew on me by the end of the manga.
The most interesting part to me was the way the aftermath of the curse and generational trauma was portrayed in it and how it affected the children even despite how good their parents are to them. It wasn’t all that present unfortunately, which is a shame and I really wish it had been more explored, but there was some good moments here and there, especially with the storyline tied to Shiki and his relationship with Akito (really loved the way the story took the time to say how much Akito struggled for all the awful things she’s done post-ending cause that was something that was missing from the original). I suppose the problem is that for that it would’ve needed to have the older Sohma actually appears in the story, which didn’t seem to be Takaya’s intention. Still, seeing all the Sohma kids being so close with each others realy did something to my heart lol (Kyo and Yuki’s sons being best friends and always together? Momiji having been able to get his own family? Tohru and Akito playing with their kids together? Those are things I am grateful for, I admit haha.) (Although can I just say I am deeply disappointed we didn’t get to see any children of Ritsu. Poor Ritsu can’t have anything, even in spinoffs...)
I think... the manga would’ve needed to be at least, two or three more volumes to really feel complete to be honest, but on the other hand I’m glad that’s not a story they felt like dragging on. (As a sidenote, my faves are definitely Sawa, Shiki and Mutsuki, and I have lots of fondness for Sora and Mina too.)
In a way, it felt... kind of weirdly healing to read it, honestly? It’s like, there’s something that feel really good and moving about seeing all the kids from the original Fruits Basket, who went through so much pain, having been able to make their own families where their kids are happy and comfortable and safe, and then seeing said kids basically adopt one abused girl and help her out as much as they can.
