Can I just defend this man briefly to say that if someone calls and they're having a panic attack over the ghost in their home, it actually can snap someone right out of one to hear something as completely off-the-wall and disorientating as anything that would come out of his mouth?
Kevin Beckman, ironically, may be the better person in the firehouse to have on the phones.

Dylan Rhodes (Now You See Me) x Kevin Beckman (Ghostbusters 2016) - Mature Fic
‘We should try handcuffs,’ Dylan says.
For a long, tense moment, Kevin says nothing. Then he looks up from his plate in puzzlement. ‘How would that make the pancakes better?’
Dylan prods at his own lumpy portion of batter and syrup, feeling his face grow warm. ‘Not in the kitchen. I mean like… in the bedroom.’
Kevin frowns.
‘During sex.’
‘To stop you from falling out of bed.’ He nods wisely. ‘That bruise on your back looked really painful.’
‘Not like that. I mean – god, do you need me to draw you a diagram? I’m talking about – ‘
‘Oh!’ Kevin smiles slyly. ‘I get it. You’re one of those kinky types. You’re into all the leather and the –’ He makes an enthusiastic stabbing motion with his fork and a bit of pancake flies across the kitchen. ‘-knives and stuff.’
‘I’m not into leather or stabbing people,’ Dylan says tiredly. Mike Hat, Kevin’s gremlin-like chihuahua, skitters across the floor to gobble up the fallen treat. ‘It’s – you know what, forget I said anything.’
‘Hey, I never said I wouldn’t do it.’ Kevin’s big hand closes over his. ‘You worry too much. Frowny McFrownyface.’
Reluctantly, Dylan smiles.

Ghostbusters + Hanukkah Moodboards: Kevin + Mike Hat
Jewish Kevin headcanons:
Neither Kevin nor his mum are particularly observant Jews, but they continue to celebrate their cultural holidays including Hanukkah. With that said, they lean into many of the more modern, Americanized Hanukkah customs not all of the other ‘busters do. Having moved to New York from Melbourne, Australia, the Beckmans often find a delightful novelty in some of the sillier Hanukkah “merch” available for sale here.
Kevin is adamant that Hanukkah is Mike Hat’s favorite holiday, but whether Mike Hat was always entranced by the lights or because he’s figured out he gets spoiled with gifts and treats on Hanukkah remains to be seen.
His celebration style is offbeat and lighthearted, but with a fiercely loving focus on his dog’s happiness. His menorah, decorations, and sweaters of choice are all dog-themed as well, of course. With the majority of his extended family back in Melbourne, Hanukkah is usually a pretty quiet, chill affair with only himself, Mike Hat, and his mum, but Kevin cheerfully attends celebrations with the other Ghostbusters as well.
At the Beckmans’, Hanukkah gifts are reserved for children and pets, and because Kevin is an only child, he and his mum don’t even give gifts to each other, yet both get gifts for the dog.
Each year, Kevin’s mum makes iced sugar cookies for the two of them and dog treats for Mike Hat. Kevin has frequently mixed up the two over his lifetime, but either the sugar cookies or the dog treats are his favorite Hanukkah treat.
