Having recently looked at some “Out Of Town” NHL highlight videos I can now safely say Ken Kal beats the living sh*t out of all other NHL broadcast commentators (with the exceptions of Mickey Redmond, Ken Daniels, and Paul Woods...who are all Home Town) to the extent Charles Bronson does all other street fighters in the movie Hard Times.

Krypto is SUCH a good boy And also the member of the Superman family I would be most afraid of I mean Clark and Kara and Conner and whatnot all have “codes” and the like Krypto is a DOG. He find the thing attacking his pack and he kills it. Simple as.

WIP excerpt for Plot Bunny; Kara gets to Earth on time and the Kents get a two-for-one special on free kids.
He’s just so small, she thinks. Bigger than he was the last time she’d seen him, before the end of their world, but still so small.
She doesn’t know how she’s going to do this.
But she still has to do this, so–so she’s going to do it anyway.
She wonders if Kal will ever speak Kryptonian. She wonders if the aliens’ language will sound more natural and familiar to him, one day. She wonders if–
She sweeps the porch.
“Ma Mar-Tha Kent,” Kara recites to herself quietly, trying to get the accent right. “Pa Jona-Than Kent. Ka-Lair Zo-El Kent. Ka-Lum El-Ot Kent. Smoll-Veel. ”
The accent probably isn’t right, but she’s working on it. Trying to, anyway.
“Kuh-ow. Chee-ken. Brekk-fist. Lun-chuh. Sup-purr. Suh-nack. Pye.”
It was so much easier before. So much . . . simpler.
She was so much less sad before.
But Kal needs her to not be sad. Kal needs to see her smile, and needs her to take care of him, and . . . and . . .
Kara turns her back on him, making it look like part of the sweeping, and lets her expression crumple for a moment. Doesn’t let herself cry, because then she might look like she’d cried, or maybe he’d notice her scrubbing the tears away.
Or maybe she’d just never stop. Maybe she’d just cry her eyes out of her head, ‘til they melted and dripped out and left her blind. She doesn’t need them anyway. They’ll never see Argo City or Kryptonopolis again. Never see Krypton itself again. None of her friends; none of their family.
Never see her parents again.
No. She needs her eyes. She needs everything she’s got, because Kal needs everything she’s got.
She can’t deny him anything. She can’t let him down or leave him. She can’t . . . she can’t . . .
She can’t let him down.
And she won’t, she tells herself. She won’t let him down. Won’t fail him. Won’t let anyone hurt him or wrong him or . . . or . . .
Kal lets out a startled chime of distress, and Kara whips back around. He's on the far side of the porch at the very edge of the big swing seat, his eyes big and alarmed, and he's wobbling forward. Losing his balance. Too far away for her to steady or catch.
He's going to fall, she recognizes, and feels white-hot terror.
And he falls.
She screams.
.
.
.
When she can think again, Kara's pressed into the farthest-back corner of the porch, curled up on the floor around Kal and sobbing into his hair as he chirps in confusion and tries to squirm out of her arms. She tightens her grip on him and sobs harder. He whines in distress.
She can't make herself let go.
“Ka-Lair,” Ma is saying, her too-flat voice gentle and worried. Kara tries to look at her. Ma is crouched in front of them, her hands held out in a soothing gesture. The swing seat is knocked off one of its chains.
She doesn't remember how that happened. Is that why Kal lost his balance?
Kal lost his balance. He fell, he–he–
She doesn't remember him falling. He was . . . he was losing his balance, she remembers. He was about to fall.
And then she'd screamed, and then they were here, her heart thrumming triple-time in her ears, and he was in her arms.
She doesn't remember anything else.

Mando'a Dialects in- and out-of-universe
Outgame (irl) there are several different versions of Mandoʻa: The Shadows of the Empire Soundtrack version (Notron Cant), the Republic Commando Soundtrack version (Jesse Harlin's text), the Old Republic version (as seen in SWtOR or KotOR), the Republic Commando Novels version (Karen Traviss' version), the Mandoa.org version (their forum members made up a lot of extra vocabulary), several different tumblr versions, and the Disney version (as in the TV-series Star Wars Rebels). They all have distinctive similarities (the Notron Cant is an exception), but unfortunately, they also all somewhat differ. Since Karen Traviss published her Mandoʻa version online, complete with a dictionary, the Mandoa.org version and most tumblr versions are based on her version. Her version in turn is vaguely based on Jesse Harlin's version-the first Mandoʻa on file, so to say. I myself see them as different dialects or development stages of the same language.
See, Karen Traviss' Mandoʻa and also most of Mandoa.org's Mandoʻa uses Basic (i.e. English) grammar with a Mandalorian vocabulary, so I call that version Soldiers' Pidgin. It's obviously (ingame) a creole language that came into existence after the Mandalorian diaspora. It is this Soldiers' Pidgin that Kal Skirata taught his children (the Nulls) and possibly also the language that the Alphas taught other, younger clones (e.g. the CC class or the ARC-troopers) as a "secret" language to hide from the Kaminoans. If it was used by the clones in such a way, the GAR should have its own dialect. The different internet versions of Mandoʻa all seem to be based on Karen Traviss' dictionary, so I see them as different dialects of the Soldiers' Pidgin. The same reasoning can be applied to Disney's Mandoʻa.
The language of Vode An, Graʻtua Cuun, Darasuum Kote, etc. on the other hand uses a grammar that differs from Basic. It is an older form of Mandoʻa, probably the Mandoʻa spoken on Mandaʻyaim before the Excision - seven-hundred years ago. It's a lot more interesting (for me, at least). I propose calling it Classic Mandoʻa. It has its own grammar; it has a similar vocabulary as Soldiers' Pidgin, but with distinct and sometimes varying pronunciations (sometimes depending on the rhyme or rhythm of the song); it has a lot of epitaphs and kennings and references and can have very flowery phrasing. It's used, in or around the time of Palpatine's Empire, predominantly in older songs and poems. An irl-equivalent could be Shakespearean English.
We can probably view the (archaic) tOR version as vaguely translated into modern Mandoʻa (Soldiers' Pidgin, probably) since there is exactly no way that the language changes so little in over 3000 years. I also propose that the Basic back then has very few similarities to the Basic that's spoken during the Skywalker Wars.
Missing is a sort of current, modern version of Classic Mandoʻa. I think that is (sadly) very realistic. A society that is so broken up by something like orbital bombardment would likely, over the centuries, develop several different creole versions and try to keep their original language as unchanged as possible, leading to exactly the combination described above.
