See on one hand like. "War never changes" being The Point of Fallout, it makes almost-sense to bring back these factions again and again. An endless perpetuation of violence, and nobody on either side cares about the innocents who get caught between them. And i feel like you COULD make an interesting story out of it.

But otoh, it just gets so damn tired after a while! How many times do we have to defeat the enclave! How many times is the Brotherhood going to be a Big Bad Faction? How many times is nuking something gonna be involved in the plot? It's just. I get it. I really do. These are hallmarks of the series and im not saying to shelve them ans never use them again. Just. Can we use them in different fucking ways. Please. Find literally anything else. Any other faction. It's dire.

I may have talked about this before, but Zed loves singing. He gets really drawn into voices, and has a particular fondness for deep vocals (warm bass gives him chills). It is also an area of frustration, because his voice doesn’t match what he wants to sing, and he’s struggled with being self conscious of it.

He has very much enjoyed the trope of a woman dressing as a man that appears in media, with two of his favorites being Mulan and She’s the Man. He was, however, always a little sad when they didn’t maintain their persona at the end of the movie.

I enjoy the idea of Zed being autistic, but that not being something that Kryptonians address. So him coming to Earth meant that he had more resources to examine that in himself. Earth is really harsh on his sensitivity to noise, and he has often resorted to humming to try to block out everything that is overwhelming him (Alex knows the melody to a few Kryptonian lullabies because of this). On the flip side, Earth has been really great for his tactile sensitivity. He was very rules oriented when he was learning Earth customs, and that made him very stiff in the early years, as he was trying to hold onto a very black and white approach to situations. He’s definitely begun to loosen, especially as his awareness of his struggles broadened.

Nia has opened his world up to queer culture. She was the first one to take him to see a drag performance, and his pride in himself really flourished around her. They also have a habit of making casual jokes about swapping parts. Like Zed groaning about his chest, all “I’m so done with these, you want them?” He’s a lot more openly queer around her, rather than trying to ‘pass’ as cis.

Zed is really happy. There are a lot of things he’s needed to work through, and things are still not perfect, but he’s finding more and more in life that makes his heart sing. He’s taking up more space, and allowing himself to thrive, and that has made him a lot more bright.

I wish computers were like muscles in that if you keep working them they get stronger. My computer should be like a marathon runner rn. The fan should be turgid. Very interesting to me that being outwardly anti-slavery nets you disapproval from Astarion, despite the fact that he's pretty straightforward about his past as a slave. Gives me big "if I suffered, so does everyone else" vibes, which is annoying gameplay wise, but narratively makes sense.

Especially because (and here gets a bit spoilery) I think his approval softens up into acts 2 and 3. There are hints of him being "nice" in act 1, when he approves of you saving the owlbear cub, but if you get his approval decently high going into acts 2 and 3, a lot of the things that (I think) would have netted negative approval in act 1 are now positive -- like sympathizing with that child and giving him some food and money, or freeing the vampire spawn.

If you dont follow through with the black mass and you free the vampire spawn, I think that's kind of the culmination of his arc in which hes like "hehe oops, looks like I was perpetuating cycles of trauma". He even gains approval for defending Wyll and the others, and even as early as act 1 says something about how it would be a shame to lose lae'zel.
