The campaign still needs about 15k worth of supporters, but I don't have that kind of money myself 😭 I could only afford one Hunter figurine! This sentence is the link again for good measure! Please please please go check it out and give them money or I will be sad and Hunter-less forever.

I was wondering if you lovely humans had any advice for starting up own business? I'm having some serious health problems to the point that my parents and I aren't even sure I can go back to college next fall, but I can't live at home due to my having a service animal which my mother is deathly allergic to. And y'know apartments are expensive. I just don't know how people kickstart their own businesses?
Answered during Piggy's AMA!

hi!! i adore u and ur account. do you think any of the deaths in ToG series were actually meaningful/impactful to the plot, instead of just killing a character for the sake of doing so?
Hello, thanks so much! And oof, what an interesting and truly difficult question. I keep on thinking of characters and then thinking of something else that negates the argument I want to make. So here’s a list of top 3 contenders: Sam, Arobin, K/altain.
Firstly, these three characters bit the dust in the first/middle acts of the T0G series, so they were killed before SJ/M started rushing to push out books twice a year. Their deaths were written before the steepest point in her decline, which is why I automatically cancelled out anyone who bit it post-Q0S.
Sam. I might be really really wrong with this one, considering I read T0G like five years ago at this point I have a really good book memory, which is probably why I like reading fantasy so much okay but from what I remember of T0G, Sam’s death was actually brought up a lot. Also, fun fact: the Assassin and the Empire was the piece of SJ/M’s writing that actually made me really love where she was going with the books. I still don’t like how Mess primarily uses character deaths to spurn future character/plot development (although this is obviously a lot WORSE when it’s your only character of color and they die the most violent death), but I found Arobin’s betrayal and reasoning behind it so entertaining when I first read AatE. Plus, the betrayal and the death literally kickstarted the entire T0G series.
Arobin. I know a lot of people were disappointed with the way he died so easily and that he was killed by Lisandra instead of Alien, but I honestly kinda liked that choice. The concept of Lisandra, had she not been written in the context of slut-shaming and cattiness and returned in the Ratalien Endgame Book, is great. I like the idea that she gets the kill because it doesn’t center Alien’s revenge in Arobin’s villainy. It shows that Alien has moved on to a better friend group and support system, and acknowledges that other characters have also suffered a great deal in different ways (the latter point being rare for SJ/M). Lisandra also has other abilities besides being a killing machine, so this kill didn’t imply that women’s empowerment=revenge and furthering the cycle of violence.
K/altain. (I’m gonna call her Katelyn for the sake of censorship.) Again, Katelyn is a hopelessly underrated character who was written in the context of girl-hate and slut-shaming and the Ratalien Endgame Book. Her story is harrowing but she went out with a bang and she flipped the script on P/errington by using his mutilations to her body to destroy his entiiiiire project in M/orath. I really wish we’d gotten more of her, but I also think her death was really interesting and unpredictable (for me).

Meet Katelyn Regan, an aspiring comedian and single mum, her little boy Bryce (father unknown, don’t blame Kat, she had a wild teen situation going on) who is just a wee ball o’ sunshine and their dog Green.
Kat is trying to save enough money to get them out of their crappy apartment in the Fashion District and kickstart her comedy career.

musings of a sad fat 26 year old
HELLO again. i think i need to not reflect as much and just start doing without fear.
10/14/20
I had a house salad from JPeters for Katelyn’s birthday lunch at the office. I had a small bite of chocolate cake, but it honestly wasn’t very good and didn’t feel worth it.
I’m going to start my zero app now to kickstart a fast and stick to it.
I’m going to try and focus on work for the next two hours before I have to go to Katelyn’s house for her birthday party with her coworkers from the hospital.
I think today I finally realized that twitter has officially rotted my brain and stunted my growth as a person. I shouldn’t use it anymore. I think I might be coming back to tumblr for good.
Let’s see how it goes!!

If you’re thinking about writing your own wedding venues hire vows, you’re probably feeling a range of things. Excitement over all the heartfelt emotions you’ll get to express towards your SO in front of all your loved ones… Worry that you might not say all that you want to say. Anxiousness over speaking before a large number of people. (This must have been the kind of pressure Freddie Mercury was talking about!) But trust us, you can scale ANY mountain. And this one is backed by some TLC… plus, in today’s case, some advice from the experts! So buckle up and settle in because today we’re joined by Katelyn Stanis of Wedding Words who is serving up her top 5 tips for writing personalized wedding vows that will have everyone a puddle in the best kind of way!

So let’s hear from Katelyn below, shall we?
“How long have you been staring at that flickering cursor on your computer? Blank paper. Too many emotions to articulate. As if wedding planning was not stressful enough, now you have to write personalized wedding vow that will somehow do justice to how you feel. Plus, you have to be emotionally prepared to recite those vows in front of everyone you know? No pressure, right? Breathe. I’ve got you covered. As a professional wedding vow and toast writer and the creator of Wedding Words, I work with frazzled couples to turn their stressed out worries into eloquent love notes that they’re excited to publically recite come the big day. I’m here to share my insider tips with you so you too can feel prepared, poised, and ready to write vows that will impress your fiancé and all of your guests. Photo by Serena Genovese Photography from this industrial same-sex wedding inspiration Step 1: Brainstorm Vow Material Most brides and grooms sit down to write their vows and they’re instantly plagued with writer’s block. Don’t expect writing to be your first step. First, you need to do some wedding venues hire pre-work to get you prepared for the writing part. I recommend a brainstorming exercise. Dedicate 15 to 30 minutes to writing down any idea, memory, or feeling that comes to mind when you think of your fiancé and your future marriage. Don’t judge what you write down. It’s a brainstorm so any thought you have is a good one. Another way to gather material for your vows is to answer some writing prompts. Here are a few of my favorite vow writing prompts to get you started. Write down your answers to these questions to create more vow material. Why are you choosing to marry this person? How is your fiancé different than anyone else you’ve dated? How does your fiancé show you love? How do they make you feel special? What has changed about you since you two have been together? Photo by Wild Whim from this bougainvillea-filled wedding Step 2: Identify Themes Now that you’ve created a list of ideas for your vows, it’s time to identify themes. A theme is a general topic that stands out from your notes. For example, you may start to notice that many of your notes talk about your partner’s sense of humor or the strong communication you two have. These are themes and you can use them to organize your vows. You may start by describing why you love how kind and thoughtful they are. Then you can tie that concept into why you know they’ll be a strong partner as your husband or wife. Themes are useful because they not only organize your thoughts but they also help to drive your vows forward. Photo by Sophie Epton from this sunrise elopement Step 3: Write the First Draft You have material and have started to organize your thoughts. Now it’s time to actually start writing your vows. Here’s a vow writing outline I recommend couples follow as a way to structure their vows: Address your partner and detail out how you feel now that you’re about to get married Communicate what your partner means to you Communicate what you appreciate about your relationship Make specific promises Describe how you envision your marriage Close with a line about how you love them Photo by Cheers Babe from this glam Bay Area wedding Step 4: Edit Your Vows Any good piece of writing needs to be edited. After you’ve written the first draft of your wedding vows, reread them. Is there anything you need to expand on with more detail? Is there anything you can trim down and get more to the point? Do you say the same thing in two different sections? When you make your vows more concise and articulate, you’ll have greater impact in communicating how you feel. Photo by Allen Tsai from this fine art elopement inspiration Step 5: Practice Reciting Your Vows Writing your wedding vows is only half the battle. Next comes public speaking panic! Practice reading your wedding vows out loud three to five times before your wedding day. Rehearse in front of a mirror or to a friend who you can trust to provide constructive feedback. You can also record yourself using your phone. While it may feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable, this process will help to ensure that you’re poised and polished for the wedding ceremony. Here are the most popular public speaking tips I always share with clients: Speak louder and more slowly than you think you need to Make sure the venue has a microphone for you to use Print your vows or write them on paper and bring multiple copies with you. Do not read your vows off of your phone or tablet. The light will cause your face to be discolored in photographs and video. When you start to feel like you wedding venues hire may get too emotional, take a deep breath and give yourself a moment. Remember why you’re doing this and allow that to motivate you to make it through reading your vows without going into the ugly cry! Photo by Simply by Tamara Nicole from this seaside PNW wedding Are you still struggling to write your wedding vows? Vow writing can be one of the most daunting wedding planning tasks but it should also be one of the most fulfilling. Don’t let stress get in the way of delivering wedding venues hire beautiful wedding vows. At Wedding Words, a vow and toast writing service, we’ll remove your worry and deliver customized wedding vows that will capture exactly how you feel.” Photo by Menary Weddings from this gilded Arlington Hall wedding Okay that outline for writing your vows in Step #3 is a serious GOLDMINE of information, am I right? We love the way personalized vows level up on sentiment during the ceremony, and by now, you should be well equipped to express yourself in the best kind of way. For further advice in this arena and even for your MOH or BM who might be needing some advice to kickstart their speeches, look to Katelyn of Wedding Words for guiding light. It’s easy, breezy, beautiful from here! This post was sponsored by Wedding Words. All opinions are our own. Thanks for supporting our sponsors! It's time to stand up for trans people. Here are 21 ways to show your support.
Transgender people in this country are in the fight of their lives. This is no exaggeration.
Between fighting for safe spaces in schools, pushing back against hurtful bathroom bills, railing against bigoted local policies disguised as religious freedom, service members being pushed back into the closet, and the constant threat of harassment, sexual assault, and violence, transgender people are truly fighting for their lives.
Now more than ever, we need to stand with transgender and gender-nonconforming people. Here are 21 ways to do just that.
1. Use preferred pronouns and names.
It's not difficult and it shows that you respect and acknowledge someone's identity. If you're not sure which pronouns someone uses, ask.
2. Need a new book or podcast? Support transgender creatives.
Books, essays, articles, or podcasts are an easy, affordable place to start. This is not only a way to hear rich first-person accounts of some of the issues affecting the transgender community, but buying books or downloading podcasts is a great way to support trans creators financially.
Here's an awesome list of transgender authors by genre to get you started.
3. It's time to start calling people out. Stand up — even when it's hard.
Don't let your friends or family get away cruel "jokes" or snide remarks. It's not always easy, but being an ally isn't a spectator sport. A simple, "That's not OK" in conversation can remind people that words have consequences.
4. Put your money where your heart is and support organizations showing up for trans people.
If you have any extra money, consider donating it to groups like TransLifeline or the Trevor Project. These organizations are on the front lines supporting transgender youth and adults in crisis. If money is tight, consider saving up or donating your next birthday to the effort.

5. Follow, read, and share transgender voices on social media.
In addition to go-tos like Janet Mock and Laverne Cox, voices like Chris Mosier, Dominick Evans, Katelyn Burns, Emily Gorcenski, and Upworthy's own Parker Molloy are a great place to start.
6. Back Sam, the first educational transgender toy, on Kickstarter.
This sweet toy helps kids explore what it means to grow up transgender. It's great for all kids, not just kids who might be exploring different aspects of their gender identity. Watch this sweet video introducing Sam to the world.

7. Trans women of color are being murdered at an alarming rate. They need your support more than ever.
If you don't know about this epidemic, here are the facts. In 2016, at least 22 transgender people died as a result of violence. In 2017, 15 have already been killed by violent means.
Ask your city council, police department, and everyone running for local office what they plan to do to prevent these tragedies. Don't accept non-answers. Lives are at stake.
8. With that in mind, speak out against the gay and trans panic defense.
In 48 states, alleged murderers can defend their actions in court by suggesting the victim's sexual or gender identity triggered their crime. California and Illinois are the only states that have banned this defense. Talk to your state legislators to find out what you can do to advance legislation banning this defense in your state.
9. Volunteer to help transgender-supportive candidates, in your area or nationally.
Bigoted policies don't reach the governor or the president's desk in a vacuum — bigoted people put them there. Help candidates who stand with transgender people get elected or keep their seats.
People arrive to hear Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff speak during a rally to thank volunteers and supporters. Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images.
10. Make sure the places you frequent are inclusive.
Check out the policies or bylaws at your workplace, gym, or community center to make sure they're welcoming and inclusive of transgender and gender-nonconforming people. If not, talk to the powers that be about how to create or improve the nondiscrimination policy.
11. Get out in the community and volunteer.
Use the United Way's search tool to find opportunities supporting the LGTBQ community in your area.
Volunteers man the phones at the Trevor Project Call Center in West Hollywood. Photo by Mark Ralston/AFP/Getty Images.
12. Too busy to volunteer? Support the helpers.
You may not have the time to commit to a weekly or monthly volunteer opportunity, but consider dropping off bagels, coffee, or a thoughtful card to those who do. Drop off the goodies at your local crisis center or LGBTQ community space.
13. Attend LGBTQ events, rallies, and activities.
This doesn't mean co-opt safe LGBTQ safe spaces as your own, but instead, attend Pride and Trans Day of Remembrance events as an ally. Look in your community calendar for LGBTQ film festivals, gallery exhibitions, comedy shows, or demonstrations to attend.
14. Fund a day of self-care for a transgender person.
Being constantly attacked and scrutinized by your own government is exhausting and a little self-care can go a long way. Awesome folks online are bringing allies together to fund nights out at the movies, co-pays for therapists, or just encouraging notes. Support their effort or donate directly to a friend in need.
Given the news from 45 that will deeply affect the trans community today, we, as allies, accomplices, and...

15. Reach out to the transgender people you know.
A kind word, phone call, or simple text can mean a lot. Let them know you stand with them today and always.
16. Listen, watch, and share stories from transgender people and their families.
There are so many great first-hand accounts that deserve to be heard, like this story of a dad speaking up for his trans son, this Republican, Christian mom staring down bigots to stand up for her daughter, or this story of a woman's coworkers surprising her with a party after her transition. These stories need to be heard.
youtube
17. Support trans troops and veterans.
Trans people have served this country proudly in every branch of the armed forces. When policies and declarations attempt to push them back into the closet, call your senator and representative to make sure they're standing on the side of equality. Consider supporting the Transgender American Veterans Association too.
18. Reconsider how you use gendered language.
While some trans people have no problem being referred to by gender-specific phrases like "ladies and gentlemen," inclusive language is just as welcoming and leaves no one out. Just recently, the transportation system in London abandoned "Ladies and Gentlemen" in announcements because "Hello, everyone" works just as well.
19. Model how to stand and support trans people for the kids in your life.
Kids are always watching. Let your kids, or the kids in your life, know that you stand up for transgender and gender-nonconforming people, including them. Encourage the kids in your life to stand up for their friends and do what's right, even when it's hard.
20. Look up where the companies you love fall on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index.
Sure they make great burgers or T-shirts, but does your favorite brand treat its LGBTQ employees fairly? Do they buy goods and contract services from LGBTQ suppliers? If not, consider adjusting your loyalty.
21. Vote.
If you're sick and tired of the mistreatment of transgender people and other traditionally underrepresented groups by their own government, then remember to do your research and vote. Every election — every time.
Now, more than ever, transgender people need our support.
Stand with them, signal boost their voices and stories, and let your elected officials know that discrimination will not be tolerated. Transgender people are fighting for their lives. It's time for some backup.

13th Annual LA 3-D Movie Festival
3-D SPACE, Stereo Sisters, and the LA 3-D Club are pleased to announce the winners of The 13th Annual LA 3-D Movie Festival. The festival’s mission is to showcase the best independent stereoscopic 3-D filmmaking from around the world. This year’s fest took place on Dec 8th  -11th , 2016 at several venues in the greater Los Angeles area. The festival featured over 20 independent 3-D short films, including 10 student produced films; the 57th Hollywood International Exhibition of Stereoscopic Photography; a live 3-D performance by multimedia artist J-Walt; a program of historical 3-D rarities featuring the US premiere of the 1954 British short HARMONY LANE , and the world premiere of the 3-D Film Archive’s digital restoration of the 1960 CinemaScope drama SEPTEMBER STORM .
The opening night of the festival, on December 8th , was co-presented with the American Cinematheque at the historic Aero Theater in Santa Monica, and featured the world premiere of the digitally restored feature film SEPTEMBER STORM . A rediscovered gem newly restored by the 3-D Film Archive through the generosity of over 300 backers on Kickstarter, SEPTEMBER STORM is a CinemaScope Stereovision adventure that plunges the viewer into the depths of the Balearic sea off the coast of Spain. Mark Stevens stars as a treasure hunter who convinces a yacht hand (Asher Dann) to take him and his cohort (Robert Strauss) on a quest for gold doubloons. They encounter many spectacles along the way: a violent storm, man-eating sharks, a deadly man o' war, but perhaps the most stunning sight of all is the bewitching model Joanne Dru who embarks on the journey with them. Director Byron Haskin (The War of the Worlds, Robinson Crusoe on Mars) uses the 3-D camera to maximum effect, while hard-boiled writer W.R. Burnett (Asphalt Jungle, Little Caesar) injects the screenplay with liberal doses of seduction and betrayal. This was the last 3-D picture filmed in the 1950s, and the first to be released in 3-D CinemaScope. It was also the first feature to include color underwater 3-D footage, and was long considered lost until the original negative elements were located for this digital restoration. The screening also included THE ADVENTURES OF SAM SPACE, a 3-D stop-motion animated short produced by Volcano Pictures in 1953, but not released until 1960, when it was retitled SPACE ATTACK and paired with SEPTEMBER STORM. This was the first time both films were seen together in over 55 years. Bob Furmanek, founder of the 3-D Film Archive, attended the show to take audience questions and explain the process that went into preserving these rare motion pictures.
The second night of the festival took place at the Velaslavasay Panorama in Los Angeles, an L.A. cultural treasure located in the Union Cinema building, built in 1915 as one of the cities first movie theaters. This was the perfect venue for an evening of 3-D RARITIES that have been rescued and restored by the 3-D Film Archive, presented by Bob Furmanek. The program covered the origins of 3-D movies from it’s earliest days in 1922 through the 1930s and 40s, and into the 3-D Golden Age of the early 1950s. Films screened included Kelley's Plasticon Pictures, the earliest extant 3-D demonstration film from 1922 with incredible footage of Washington and New York City; New Dimensions, the first domestic full color 3-D film originally shown at the World's Fair in 1940; Thrills for You, a promotional film for the Pennsylvania Railroad; and Stardust in Your Eyes, a 1953 musical routine by night club comedian Slick Slavin, which was originally shown in theaters with the classic sci-fi movie Robot Monster. Trustin Howard, who performed in the 1950s under the stage name Slick Slavin, was a special guest at the festival screening, performing a hilarious live standup act for the audience. The evening culminated with the US premiere of the 1954 British 3-D film HARMONY LANE. In August 2014, this lost 3-D film was discovered buried deep in the vaults of the British Film Institute, and was restored this year by the 3-D Film Archive. Directed by Lewis Gilbert (as Byron Gill) and photographed by A.E. Jeakins in March 1953, it sat on the shelf until the end of 1954 when it was finally released flat. This delightful 27 minute short is like spending a night at the Palladium with several variety acts. They include dancing by the Jack Billings Trio; a song by the Beverley Sisters; "Swan Lake" by Svetlana Beriosova and David Paltenghi of the Sadler's Wells Ballet; precision dancing by The Television Toppers and a comedy routine with Dora Bryan and Max Bygraves. The orchestra was directed by future Hammer Studios composer, Philip Martell. The excellent stereo cinematography was the work of Brian Smith. In 1951, he directed the first live action British 3-D short in Technicolor, DISTANT THAMES/ROYAL RIVER which was a tremendous success at the Festival of Britain and the Edinburgh Film Festival. HARMONY LANE had never before been seen in its native 3-D.
On the third day of the fest, the LA 3-D Club presented the 57th Hollywood International Exhibition of Stereoscopic Photography and hosted its annual Holiday Party at the festival. The HOLLYWOOD EXHIBITION  is a still photography contest sanctioned by PSA (The Photographic Society of America) featuring the best 3-D images from around the world. The juried competition presented the Gold Medal for “Best of Show” to Festung IR  by Bruno Braun of Kassel, Germany. This year’s holiday party festivities included appetizers from Spitz - Home of the Döner Kebab and a main course from Howlin’ Ray’s Nashville Hot Chicken, one of LA’s most popular new restaurants, helmed by chef Johnny Zone. The party culminated in a mind-blowing live 3-D performance by Academy Award winning multimedia artist J-Walt. The show, SPONTANEOUS FANTASIA , integrates music and stereoscopic computer graphics to create immersive worlds and dreamscapes, all manipulated in realtime on the big screen.
Festival Awards were announced at the Closing Night Ceremony on Sunday, Dec 11th, by LA 3-D Movie Festival director and 3-D SPACE executive director Eric Kurland and Stereo Sisters founder Shannon Benna. Top films were selected by audience ballot and by special jury. Award winners were presented with the traditional Ro-Man trophy of the LA 3-D Movie Festival, Stereo Sisters’ Golden Mirror Trophy and an assortment of valuable prizes from festival sponsors Berezin Stereo Photography Products and the London Stereoscopic Company.
The 3-D Shorts Award winners were selected by audience ballot and were presented to three recipients. Third Place went to LA Complex - Presenting Jim Barrett  by Tom Koester & Frances Bohn. This half hour documentary features LA artist Jim Barrett’s solo exhibition at bG Gallery in Bergamot station in July 2016, including his massive 30-ft multipanel work, War Complex , which speaks to the heart and mind of both the terror of war and the complexity of the human condition.
Second Place was awarded to HIDDEN WORLDS IN 3D  by Robert Bloomberg. The film explains how and why we see in 3-D, then takes the audience on an amazing 3-D journey inside a snowflake, into space, and through the human heart. Robert Bloomberg was also the recipient of this year’s Ray Zone Award for Excellence in 3-DIY. Named for festival cofounder Ray “3-D” Zone, who passed away in 2012, the award celebrates what Zone described as “fiercely independent do-it-yourself 3-D filmmaking.” Bloomberg is a stereo photographer, filmmaker, musician and graphic artist whose award-winning 3-D shows have been presented worldwide.
The First Place Golden Ro-Man Trophy was presented to LITTLE RED DOT,  written and directed by Chanel Samson. This music video for an original song by the band Chanel and the Circus is “a sweet little song about waiting to get your period after not practicing safe sex” presented in the form of a cabaret stage show. The video features performances filmed against a green screen and composited into backgrounds hand-painted by illustrator Katelyn McCarney. It can be viewed online, in 3-D, at youtu.be/6zb6h3AZAyY
The Special Award for Achievement in 3-D Feature Film went to TENDERNESS written by Wacław Mikłaszewski & Alina Sztoch and Directed by Wacław Mikłaszewski . This Polish production is a multi-faceted story about youth, decountrifying and attitude toward life. Filmed in native 4K 3-D in Lodz, Poland, TENDERNESS utilizes long takes and proscenium compositions to create a sense of intimacy. The feature directorial debut for Wacław Mikłaszewski, the film links his theatre and stereoscopic activities. The director was in attendance at the festival and engaged the audience in an informative Q&A session.
The Stereo Sisters Golden Mirror Award for Excellence in Student 3-D was presented to Shelby Merritt of the University of Texas - Austin's 3-D program. Her work entitled PIC tells the story of a young woman as she finds a mysterious camera in an odd shop, with the power to transform her surroundings. The short displays excellent use of color and composition to create an internal perspective, and the 3-D was a delightful compliment to that vantage point, showcasing both the diversely textured & cluttered junk shop interior, as well as the beautiful rolling vistas of Central Texas' Hill Country.
