Hello wonderful Bitches! I recently completed a health and wellness coaching certification and am working on a personal training certification as well. I'd like to start my own business as a coach and trainer, but I have no idea what logistics starting a business entails. I know I need a product/service, social media, biz phone number and email, etc. But I don't know what other logistics I need. I don't know how to set up payment plans, do scheduling (I've heard Calendly is good, but if there's something better...), etc. Since I'd be doing personal training, I need liability insurance and I have absolutely zero idea how to get that.
Do you have any tips or resources for someone starting up a service-based business? A convenient checklist for my ADHD self, maybe? There is no one I trust more than Piggy and Kitty to help me get started on this!

The Sandpit Saga
No. 4
This unfortunately has pawprints on it... (courtesty of our cat walking in my paints then on my picture- )
But there's only a couple so eh.
Wilbur and Tommy are brothers in this comic btw.
Just in case it isn't clear from the context.
:D

So I might be starting a business…
(Question for SmallBusinessOwners at bottom!)
For the last few days I’ve been trying new things to knit/crochet and it turns out im not horrible at it! I made a tiny little “sweater” for my meditations (Its a tiny little basket looking thing that has a sewn together bottom and no sleeves, but I still call it a sweater.) and it turned out really well!
I suck at making hats but I think That’s because I had super this yarn. I have a slightly thicker one now and I might try again soon, but im currently making a scarf.
I’ts really short right now (for a scarf) so I can’t tell if its going to turn out well, but im very proud of it so far.
I’m thinking 10 dollars an hour for whatever projects I sell, is that an acceptable price?

I have sent the final official email, I have quit my job. The side gig is no longer the side gig, and I'm now self-employed! It's gonna be stressful, and maybe shit sometimes. But now, when I do the work, I get the money. No middle man, nothing. Less hours, more money, my own schedule and above all else more time for me and my needs, wants, and searching for the good things in life. Wish me luck.

Making Business Mistakes: What To Avoid
Making Business Mistakes: What To Avoid Image by StartupStockPhotos from Pixabay It’s common for new business owners to make mistakes. It’s a good way to learn and avoid making the same mistakes again. The first year of any business is usually the toughest. Well... it's sure weird to be back on this hellsite! I don't know if this is something I should advertise, but I was here (under different blog names) from 2011 to 2019 or so. And now I'm back, because I wanted an ~art blog~ and inexplicably this place is... still here.
But seriously, I'm glad to be back. I'll introduce myself better soon, but for now, here's what I'm working on lately:
World Watercolor Month-- I did these purple bottles for the "recycle" prompt.
Starting my business! Or more like, committing to my business. I've been working on it as more of a side hustle, but I want to see how far I can take it for real.
Making my own watercolor paints-- I've wanted to try this for awhile, so I'm going to learn! I just ordered what I need to get started and I'm so excited.
Anyway, follow along for this and more!
