the urge was back again.
it pulled heavy at your eyelids, weighing down on your shoulders, making your legs feel like stones had been sewn into your shoes. you felt something crawl up the back of your neck, and a long, drawn-out yawn was pulled from you as you held tight to the overhead grip on the slowly rocking train.
the urge was back again, as it often came around this time of day. it had been far too long of a day at work, too many phone calls, too much paperwork, too many customers looking to schedule deliveries or fight about how much mora they owed on their bills. you liked your job, you did, but you couldn’t stand the people anymore. it was starting to become a hassle. you had started to grow lethargic quite frequently, and the rocking of the train didn’t help all that much.
you fought to keep your eyes open as you watched the train pull into your district in mondstadt, blinking slowly and blearily at the red lettering on the screen as the train slowed to a stop. finally. no more rocking, just… walking.
you yawned again. the urge lapped at your cheeks like the sandpaper of a cat’s tongue. you knew exactly what you needed to finally relax and let yourself catch up on some rest, but now it was just a matter of getting home to do so.
you knew what would be waiting for you. the urge knew it too. it knew exactly what the scene was going to be when you opened the door to your apartment, and it pushed you forward, keeping your legs moving even if your shoes were uncomfortable and your belt was becoming too tight.
you walked down the winding streets at your own pace, the warmth of the day finally receding into the cool of the impending sunset, and you wanted nothing more than to just get home already.
the lights to your apartment building flickered on as you stepped inside, heading immediately towards the elevators, ignoring your responsibility of picking up the mail. it could be done in the morning, just like everything else.
the slow ride up in the elevator had you yawning once more, holding onto your bag to make sure you didn’t drop it and forget it in your haze to fulfill your craving. you felt it pushing behind your eyes. freedom would be given so soon.
if you had had more energy, you would’ve hurried down the hall, but alas, you couldn’t find the strength. you fumbled with your keys and managed to find them, haphazardly unlocking it and pushing the door open with your weight.
“welcome home,” called your darling boyfriend, the star of the show here, truly, from his place in the living room. the need inside you was so close to being satiated, satisfied.
you shoved your shoes off quietly, humming in response to his greeting. you swallowed another yawn (it’s become far too repetitive an action for you, really) and dropped your bag, keys, and belt at the door. all unimportant items.
your now slippered feet padded across the wooden floors of your shared apartment towards the breath of fresh air that was kaeya. he was typing on his laptop, clearly working on some sort of paperwork or complaint report, brows knitted and chewing on his cheek. he was sitting facing the windows, engulfed in the orange light from the sunset.
perfect.
you moved almost silently, sinking into the couch cushions next to him and crawling over until you could drop yourself over his lap, head and upper body mostly in his lap while you brought your knees up towards your chest, like you were curling into a ball on him.
the urge to curl up on your boyfriend’s lap and rest your eyes had been tamed.
kaeya, barely surprised, just chuckled and petted a hand over your hair. “long day, darling?”
“mmmh.”
“really? tell me all about it.”
“mmh. nnnh.”
“i see, i see. i understand. seems like you’re looking for a pre-dinner cat nap?”
“mmhm…”
“alright, little kitty cat. take a rest. i’m almost finished.”
you huffed, swatting lightly at his knee, and it just made kaeya laugh and pet you a little more. it wasn’t your fault if you drifted off to sleep almost immediately, basking in the sunset and in the attention of your boyfriend.

albedo really relies on verbal communication for most of his relationships, and when this is no longer an option, he’s at a bit of a loss
when he first meets you, he’s confused as to why you don’t respond after he introduces himself, becoming even more so when you take out a pad of paper and a pen
we already know that he finds relationships difficult to maintain; he has a hard time understanding social cues and boundaries. BUT! he’ll consider this to be a new challenge to overcome
if you know sign language he’ll put in a big effort to learn it and considers it as simply another branch of knowledge he has not yet pursued
please be patient with him during the process. despite his intellect and his position within the knights, the blonde is actually quite insecure regarding his self worth. he equates it to how useful he is, and after losing his master this insecurity only tripled in size
thanks to his genius brain however, albedo’s able to pick up sign very quickly and will actually ask his assistants to learn it as well, believing it to be a valuable skill to have

the captain is already adept in sign due to the nature of his work
despite being known publicly as just the charming calvary captain, the cryo user deals with many, if not most, of the more unsightly issues within Mondstadt
there have been many a time in which verbal communication was not an option and has since learned to communicate with his hands and gestures
he gets really upset if he hears someone say anything negative about your muteness
kaeya doesn’t see it as a disability seeing as you can communicate just fine, so when he hears a passing comment from a drunk knight in the tavern insulting your intelligence, he turns very quiet.
the blue-haired captain is known to be a flirt, easy on the eyes, at worst stern but never angry even with some of the stupid shit the knights pull at times (there was an incident where one fell on a sword, don’t ask) but he draws the line when it comes to his partner
his eyes turn as cold as the vision hanging from his hip and as he approaches the knight, you feel a pang of sympathy for the amount of work you know your lover will assign

like albedo, the yaksha will struggle a bit, but xiao’s on the more intense side compared to the alchemist
he treasures you dearly, even if he comes off as rough around the edges, and does his best to understand you (please be patient with him… he is trying his Best
xiao is already a bit bad with verbal communication and usually shows you his love through physical affection (as limited as it is) and acts of service
he learns to understand your body language and subtle gestures and expressions, and to him, understanding you at a deeper level compared to the more shallow relationships he may have
there is one glaring problem however
xiao believes you to be weak; he’s incredibly protective over you, not trusting other humans to treat you as you deserve
he’s kaeya but on max volume
literally childe breathed in your direction and he had his mask on with his spear in hand (although that might just be because he hates the harbinger…)
you’ll need to let him know that he can be overbearing at times, just make sure to give him lots of kisses to make up for his bruised ego

his arms will wrap around your waist/torso and he’ll hold you somewhat like his personal teddy bear but he won’t admit that
doesn’t like pda, so he only does this in the privacy of his manor
and even then, away from the maids
subtly cuddling you is his go-to way to show his love, since he personally finds it embarrassing to express his love out loud he can never find the right words, either. you mean more to him than just words
he finds it especially comforting to be able to return home and sit in silence with you wrapped in his arms
but also softly asks you questions about your day or how you’re feeling sometimes, just to hear your voice
he calls your name in one of the gentlest tones you’ve ever heard— it’s reserved specifically for you as well

if you return his hugs, his face tinges just the slightest shade of pink but he acts really cocky about it, as he does
“ooh, someone’s clingy, huh?” he teases as if he wasn’t the one who initiated the hug
but of course he can’t help but be soft for you afterwards
zhongli
gently, like you’re the last thing in the world
his favourite way to hold you isn’t elaborate or very interesting, but then again he’s never been the type to make a show out of things
instead, he opts for caressing your face during intimate moments
he cradles your face with the palm of his hand and admires each and every part of it, like he’s holding the world’s rarest antique in his hand
he likes to slowly swipe his thumb across your cheek, and smiles gently while doing so
his eyes are so full of love the entire time

I'd gotten... a lot worse when Diluc came back home. So much more drunk, all the time. There was almost never a time I wasn't at least tipsy. I still did my job, and as well as always, so Jean didn't feel like she had any reason to punish me. But both her and Lisa came to me with their concerns. I brushed them off, told them I was perfectly fine. Eventually, I let myself in Diluc's bar after closing, and got truly wasted, knowing Diluc would be there that morning to open because he always did that on Saturdays. He found me. Kept the doors locked, he confronted me. I said a... lot of things. Drink made me honest. Told him everything, especially what he did to me, how he hurt me. Brushed everything off, then I made some comment on Crepus. He choked me. I popped a boner. He dragged me up to the quarters he had on the top floor. I was too drunk to resist. I thought he was going to kill me, and I embraced it.
Instead, he started a very heavy petting session, on my lap, in one of the chairs he had in there... until he finally managed to get all the ropes tied. Kept me there for... a month. Only letting me out of there to stretch and use the bathroom, until he was satisfied I'd "sobered up". Never wanted to talk about anything whenever he was there to let me relieve myself, or brought me food. When he let me go, he let me know, if he ever saw me drunk again, he wouldn't give me another chance. This was my only second chance.
I went back to the bottle, of course, but not nearly as hard. Just a glass of wine every few days, if that much. We eventually made up and he started fucking me on the regular but...

He doesn’t see the point in lying, so when he tells you he loves you, it leaves no room in your heart for doubt. Albedo is a no-nonsense man and his words are solid as stone.
When you go out of your way to see him, it makes his chest feel tight. The alchemist doesn’t consider himself someone interesting, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is it not? Your hands seem to fit perfectly into his, and when you smile at him over your shoulder as you frolic in the snow, he thinks to himself, ‘this is what it means to live.’

Despite being known as Mond’s most eligible bachelor, Diluc has never had a romantic partner. He traverses your relationship like a newborn fawn, uncharacteristically shaky and unsure. He knows that he can’t always spend time with you considering his responsibilities to the winery as well as his vigilante work, so he hopes to make up for it with gifts. Even if you tell him that you’re not interested in his money, he finds that he enjoys seeing the surprised expression on your face when he gifts you something you’ve had your eye on. Trying to get him to stop is a lost cause.
Surprisingly, the claymore wielder is incredibly easy to fluster. A passing comment from you saying he looks good in a specific pair of pants (and a loving tap to his bottom) will leave him blushing for the rest of the day. It doesn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the manor’s staff, as well as a certain calvary captain, that Diluc has bought a few more similarly designed pairs. He’ll huff and deny it when you tease him. If he tries to ignore you, just grab his chin and pull him into a kiss and he’ll be putty in your hands once more.

Good luck trying to get him off of you. Kaeya is infamous for his flirty nature, and once he get’s into a relationship, it seems to have increased tenfold. When he isn’t on duty, the two of you are often found hanging around Good Hunter or the Angel’s Share, much to the dismay of Diluc. His hands are constantly on your skin, often slipping underneath your shirt to hold onto your waist. One major downside is that his fingers are always cold. Have fun with that.
Even when he has a lover, Kaeya is no less secretive. Trying to get him to open up will get you forcefully shut down. It’s not that he doesn’t trust you, he just thinks that you’re better off not knowing. He doesn’t see the point in burdening you with his fears and trauma. Let him come to you instead. Soft spoken words of support will mean more to him than you’ll ever know.

Much like Bennett, Razor isn’t quite sure how to show you how much you mean to him. His vocabulary is incredibly limited despite his lessons with Lisa. He shows his appreciation by helping you gather materials and fighting off potential threats on your adventures. You’ll never go hungry with him as your boyfriend, and you can rest easy knowing that the wolf boy will protect you.
After losing his pack not once, but twice, Razor’s unknowingly clingy. You are his lupical, and he doesn’t want to let you go. He loves any sort of affection you give and will unashamedly ask for more. Head pats are an instant hit, followed closely by cuddles near the campfire. If you detangle and brush through the matted mess that is his hair, he’ll fall asleep in minutes

The bard is nothing if not cheeky. Unfortunately, this means he’ll often use his anemo powers to blow up your clothes, much to your annoyance. Venti will hang off of you if you’ll let him and will confess his love for you everywhere he goes. He’s especially fond of linking pinkies, as well as rubbing his nose against yours. After the two of you say ‘i love you’ for the first time, a new ballad about the wind god’s lover can be heard from the Angel’s Share.
Despite his airy personality, one mustn’t forget that Barbatos is one of the original Seven. Venti has seen war, suffered the loss of a loved one, and knows more than most the fragility of human mortality. As much as he hates it, you know your time in this world is short compared to the centuries he has lived. You go out of your way to clear your schedule when he’s in town, and treasure every moment you have with him. Venti may come and go, but he will always come home to you.

She quickly recovered weaving her hand with his noting how cold his touch is, most likely a byproduct from his cryo vision. Still, she can only squeeze his hand tighter feeling more safe and secure than ever.
She hums for a second, looking up at him as the two venture out.
