Tbh I should probably take a break. I almost definitely won't but I should, yknow

The Ascent of Lying

Why, Mordor people? Why do you lie?

Is it stupidity? Hunger Greed for clicks? That #silly, #silly itch to be FIRST? And RIGHT?

The Ascent of Lying started in this fandom with *urv. Her Google sources, her undying obsession for S (and the mandatory hypocrisy that comes along with it), her paltry stories fit for people who never took a flight overseas in their entire life (not something bad at all, but in this context, this makes you incredibly fragile), her remake of the Twilight fandom hullaballoo and her chutzpah.

It continued with Jess, on this side of the fandom: her OTT girlish enthusiasm, her elusiveness IRL and finally, her capitulation and resurrection, under the same name, but with a totally opposed POV. For perhaps you don't know it, but Jess 2.0 has been back since quite a while ago, now making amends about her former strong beliefs. Even taking full responsibility for some 'receipts' (remember the S lemon pin/wedding ring one? she confirmed it was her and it probably was a #silly, horrible lie). How convenient and how depressing, isn't it? Reading her new, sparse blog brought along two firm thoughts: why this need to robotically inform us about her happiness and her change of heart? Also, how many Anons did Jess 2.0 send, since her comeback, to this side of the fandom?

Let this disappointment be my sin, then and let the link to her new hole in the wall remain undisclosed by this page. I have no wish to either start a flaming war, nor give this woman more space than she deserves:

You'll have to deal with the very childish LMAO and this completely irresponsible explanation: 'it was fun to fantasize at the time'. No, lady: you LIED. You lied through your teeth and because you had the privilege of having a thirsty audience, you thoroughly enjoyed this strange avatar of fame, as you say it publicly yourself, now. You even were, most probably, heavily used by ***'s PR and even S (that is a very firm belief), just like another very fragile individual, who switched sides in a far more vocal and pathetic way. That makes for a mixed bag of truths and lies, something I think we all are way too familiar with, by now. But that does not preclude, nor excuse in any shape or form, your eagerness to ahem, 'embellish" a very real love story and twist it according to your naivete and parochial life experience. Morally, you are 0, to me: a sentimental troll, completely on par with *urv.

I could blather on and on about Jess's main competitor, Puffy, too. I think I already wrote enough about her, if only because many believed me to be her latest avatar, which is completely ridiculous, but ridiculous with an agenda. So, did Puffy lie, too? Probably, especially while creating Stella and Deep Throat out of thin air. Let's agree she heavily extrapolated, which is a shame, because some of her analysis is really spot on.

The Ascent of Lying then morphed, along with an US busy social and political agenda being more and more sensitive to the 'fake news" issue, towards the Factchecker Anti blogs, who mimicked neutrality and promoted online stalking to unprecedented levels. Along came people like Meowkabob, who even manufactured their own facts/evidence and released them online. That was perfectly premeditated and done for increased credibility (I have debunked her shite last fall, if you remember), being fully aware that her libel could not be justified only by a prior, questionable, 'London experience', of which we conveniently have no concrete details. The other blog, you all know and sometimes visit: whether she is a PR plant or lonely rider doesn't really matter, yet a stalker and a hypocrite in her own right, too. The fact that both these persons suddenly felt an urge to express themselves during the heavily conspiratorial climate of the first COVID pandemic wave is not innocent at all, I think.

Lying is the real Uncharted Territory of this fandom and one of the main reasons we seldom have nice things to talk about, anymore. I barely scratched its surface and merely stated the obvious. If anything, it only comforted and strengthened my own beliefs, which I always strived to base on personal findings and facts, along with other likeminded people's experience. And I'd rather take the general brunt and simply say 'I don't know", than embellish. Also, when I am wrong, I am wrong: it happens to the best of us and it's always either immediately edited and explained or taken full responsibility for.

What I do know with a reasonable degree of certainty is that These Two are together. And this is all that matters to me, justifying my presence here.

I don’t know why but it’s so constant now it starts to look like an agenda. Or whatever feelings she’s having surfacing in these kind of choices.

It’s so weird because you have Michael talking absolute gorgeous things about him, you have his colleagues always saying good things about him, you have the fans being delightful about him, genuinely happy and wishing him the best, you have him always being sweet about her…

And then you have her talking shite and sharing with his fans that the kids don’t care. Obviously this is not kids’ fault. My question is why she wants people to see those moments. Why it’s constantly happening now? Why out of all the choices this is the one she keeps on making?

Just say something nice for once or nothing at all. This is a good cause he’s doing. UK has all the school kids doing something for Red Nose Day. It’s a national thing.

After all that, he removed his masked and kissed your cheek while you were both still grinning from the adrenaline

Gets really into the gossip like “have you heard what X writer was offered as an advance? Rumor has it the publishers owned by his ex” or like “I asked about y author’s next book. Don’t worry you’ll win again cuz your next one is way better.” Etc etc etc

book award ceremonies are "so fucking classy. god. you're slumming it hanging around with me, sweetheart", according to matty, and you just giggle and say "yeah, you're only here cos you look hot on my arm" and then kiss him and whisper "kidding. i'm actually in love with you and you're the only person i want here with me". naturally, he swoons lmao

yes, he redirects convos back to you - however, he will also talk about the extensive number of songs he's written about you since he met you, just to add to the Gushing About You to anyone he talks to. also though - ridiculously complimentary to the other nominees he talks to (because of course he read their work "just so i can see who you're gonna beat, babe", and actually he liked a lot of it. some of it was shit. he's less nice to those people lol). sweetie pie

oh, matty's absolutely making eyes at you the whole night - not when you accept your award, because he's too busy crying, but the rest of the night he's staring at you adoringly and smiling like "hi. you're beautiful. come home with me?", and giggling when you roll your eyes but smile and say "if you make it worth my while, yeah".

the stairs thing is very impromptu - when you and matty are standing and hugging after they announce your name, you whisper "hold my hand until i get up there, please. so overwhelmed i think my legs aren't gonna work". he obliges, of course, kissing your hand when you go up alone to make your acceptance speech before hurrying back to his seat to listen to it (and weep).

the shirt unbuttoning! the two of you have a little moment in the hallway between the ceremony and the afterparty, and after he's kissed you for like 8 minutes straight matty's like "omg i have an idea" and starts undoing his buttons. you're like "babe i love you but we cannot fuck here lol", and matty's like "nah i want you to autograph me so i can get it tattooed and prove i'm your biggest fan. and also so everyone knows i belong to you". you just laugh and kiss him and say "please don't do that. but i'll sign your tit for you later lmao", and matty's like "alright lol. but i do want you to write me a tattoo at some point, darling", and you're like "i could do that. talk when we get back to the hotel? i want some champagne now lol"

thinking about him gossiping is SENDING me. "he's getting THAT amount of money from an indie publishing house run by his ex? fuck me. surely he's blackmailing the poor woman. he's not getting that off of pitching something promising, that short story collection he just did was a load of shite", and after he hears about someone else's plans he's in your ear like "derivative and also pedestrian. you've got nothing to worry about" - you're like "you're such a bitch i want to marry you", and he's like :D lmao. love these ideas halla tysm!! <3

boy howdy there is so much of that to go around. salutes.

specific content warnings under the cut along with the clip. it's not particularly intense, but it's upsetting and emotional. from the part of the fic set between seasons 1 and 2 and re: roy's retirement. it's a bit of a...... well. a lot of a long clip but i think we've come to expect that from me at this point lmao.

content warnings for the scene: jamie is living alone with his father in manchester at this point and his internal state is... not good. there is some like. it's not exactly outright violence, but it's rough contact that jamie doesn't want, kind of mocking not-affection.

Jamie is alone in his room with the door closed, staring at the ceiling and wondering if he’ll be noticed or stopped if he tries to leave and just fuck about in the park for a few hours until it’s late enough to go to bed when he hears it. The segment transition music of his father’s favourite sports network is a distinctive and familiar sound, a regular feature of life that’s gone back and forth from Manchester to London and back again, staying the same even as most everything else changed. Half the time Jamie doesn’t even register it anymore, it just is. Today he does. Today he hears it because he’s paying attention to the flat, tracking the sounds on instinct. And because Jamie hears the segment transition noise, he hears what comes after it.

The segment hosts are talking about Richmond. They’re talking about Roy. Jamie closes his eyes and pulls at the front of his shirt, pinching the fabric idly between his thumb and forefinger and tugging. He hears press conference and major announcement and knee injury and something about those words, the combination of them, has Jamie pulling himself up off of his bed and out into the hallway. Every inch of him is exhausted all the way down to the core but he has to go, compelled for reasons he can’t explain to walk into the living room.

Standing in the doorway, Jamie watches over the back of the couch, over his father’s shoulder, as Roy appears on camera and starts talking. Starts crying. The words themselves are a blur, only a few coming through clearly as Jamie listens, sick to his stomach and struggling to breathe all the way in - team of doctors, continuing degeneration, announcing my retirement. Roy sits far away in London and speaks through tears through choppy inhales and shuddering exhales, and on the couch in front of Jamie in Manchester, James laughs.

Jamie’s father tips his chin up and laughs, his head tipping side to side, obviously tickled to bits by what’s happening on the screen. The press conference goes on, but it’s even harder to hear now through the sound of that laughter. It’s not loud - it’s amused chuckling and not full-belly guffaws, but it may as well be blasting on surround-sound speakers for all that Jamie can hear anything else past it.

“Oh, Jamie, lad, get a load of this shite,” James says. He’s noticed his son in the doorway, waving a hand over the back of the couch and gesturing at the screen. “My, what a shame. Roy bloody Kent, going out like this. Used to be a man, that one, and look at him now. Jesus wept.”

Frozen in the doorway of the room, Jamie stares at the television screen. Guilt rises in his throat, threatening to choke him, and brings with it a whole host of other things he can’t or doesn’t want to name. This is his fault. This is all his fault.

There’s a mobile in Jamie’s hoodie pocket, and a note in the bottom of his schoolbag with a phone number on it. His fingertips itch to go and find it, to text Ted Lasso and tell him that he didn’t mean for what happened to happen. Maybe if Jamie begs him to, Ted will tell Roy that Jamie is sorry, that he’s so sorry, so fucking sorry. But he doesn’t. He can’t.

Turning and looking over his shoulder, James must see something in Jamie’s face that he hadn’t been able to hide - not that he was thinking clearly enough to try just at the moment. When he speaks, James’s voice has climbed into a mocking register, pitchy and singsonging with ridicule.

“Aw, what, is wee little Junior gonna get all weepy about that sad old has-been?” A sharp snort of laughter punctuates a rhetorical question that drips with casual, habitual scorn. “Hey, I mean, at least he was something. More than you can say.”

Beyond the thick and shuddering mass of emotion already packing Jamie’s chest too bursting there’s no room for anything more. The insulting reference to his own injury, the one that had ended his career before it began, doesn’t even make his surgically repaired knee throb with phantom pain the way it usually would have done. Jamie just keeps staring at the telly, watching Beard join Roy on-screen to field questions from reporters, ignoring his dad entirely.

Even fixed as he is on the programme, though, Jamie can’t help but track the man’s movements when he rises. James moves in his peripheral vision, always the most important thing to watch in any room, walking towards the hall and directly by Jamie. As he walks past, he reaches out and scuffs his hand through his son’s hair. It’s rough and abrupt, a mockery of affection that knocks Jamie off-balance and into the wall. There’s only the faintest echo of almost-pain but the adrenaline it spikes down his spine is as if he’s been shot all the same.

Once James is gone, Jamie doesn’t move. He knows that he should, that he should go back to his room or leave the house or do anything else, but he can’t. All he can do is stand there with his heart thudding hard in his chest and the crushing sense that he is all alone in the world and he fucking deserves it suffocating from the inside out while he stares at Roy’s face on the telly and wonders what the fuck is wrong with him.

Thunk. It wasn’t real. Thunk. Just some fucked-up Fade shit. Thunk, thunk. Not real.

“Not real,” she said aloud, drawing her bow before she sighed and let it relax, dropping it to the side and sinking into the pile of soft things she’d collected. “Not real. Unreal. Doesn’t exist. Make-believe. Fade shit. Fade piss.”

Of course it wasn’t real—it was nothing. How could that be real? The absence of– shit, her head hurt even beginning to think about it. But when she thought about it she felt like her throat would close up, and that was real, and what the fuck–

Suddenly she was moving, ignoring everyone’s glances and the sound of their voices, ignoring Maryden’s creepy singing, ignoring everything. Shit, she hated having to do this, hated it so much, but there was one person who might be able to make this make some kind of sense. Maybe. Assuming he didn’t just fuck it up in her head even more.

She pounded on the door to the rotunda. “Solas! We need to talk! Like, now.” She didn’t even wait for him to answer, pushing it open herself and walking right in. He was at the little desk in the center of the room, looking absolutely puzzled to see her, but she couldn’t bring herself to care. Not even enough to be amused by finally making him look puzzled—the arse certainly deserved it, as often as he’d confused her. “You gotta explain this shit to me,” she said urgently, leaning her hands on his desk. “How did I see nothing and why was it so fucking scary and what does it mean–”

“Sera–”

“And how do I make it stop–”

“Sera!” She bit her tongue on the onslaught of words that still wanted to pour out, his voice surprising. It was firm but not angry, and his expression was really gentle. She shifted awkwardly in place, thinking she preferred him looking confused. This set her teeth on edge. “You’re clearly troubled,” he said as he stood and she snorted—fucking brilliant, yes, troubled–

But before she could protest he held up a hand, then gestured to the small couch. She frowned warily at him, feeling like she needed to move not sit still, but, well, she was here—might as well give it a shot. She sat on the edge of the couch, bouncing her leg. He glanced at it as he sat next to her but didn’t comment on it. “What the fuck, Solas?”

“We all saw our fears realized,” he said gently and she shook her head. Not denying it, just… that was too simple, wasn’t it? “You say you saw nothing?” She grimaced and nodded tightly. “And you don’t understand it.”

“I don’t understand any of this shite!” She shouted, rising to her feet to pace in front of him. He didn’t stop her, didn’t try to get her to sit down again, nothing. Just watched her. “Coryphe-shite, holes in the sky, the fucking Fade–” she snarled and quickened her pace, feeling like she was going to burst out of her skin if she didn’t do something.

“Sera.” She glanced at him, surprised again by how gentle his voice was. “Come here. Please.” She groaned but sat down again, leg bouncing again– “Give me your hand.” She frowned at him, but… well, he’d been a right freak since they’d met, but not in the bad way just the weird way. She could deal with weird. So she gave him her hand and he took it between his, his skin warm and a little rougher than she would’ve expected from a mage. “You feel this?” He asked, squeezing her hand.

“No shit,” she grumbled but he just arched a brow and she sighed, nodding. “Yeah, yeah, I feel it.”

“Focus on your body. Tell me everything you feel.” She frowned again but he kept staring expectantly at her. Eventually she sighed. “Your hands are warm,” she offered awkwardly and he nodded, but still looked expectant. She sighed again, squirming a little. “Your couch isn’t that comfy.” The hint of a smile tugged at his lips but he didn’t break his concentration. “I don’t know—it’s kinda cold in here?”

“What do you hear?” She frowned at him again, but he seemed serious…

“Uh, you talking? Sometimes. I…” She paused, closing her eyes to really listen. “I can hear Leliana’s birds. The wind. Voices.”

“Good. What do you smell?” She opened her eyes to stare at him, certain that he was pulling her leg now, but he still seemed sincere.

“Um…” She closed her eyes again, inhaling deeply then wrinkling her nose. “Your paints, I think? They smell kinda weird. Wet bird. Dust. Cold air.”

“Very good.” He squeezed her hand again. “Now—let us look at this fear of yours.” She opened her eyes and took a deep breath, nodding slowly. She did feel calmer, which was weird.

“It was nothing. Who’s afraid of nothing!” His smile was as gentle as the rest of his demeanor had been, but she didn’t distrust it quite as much now.

“Many people. Nothing is frightening. What can one do against nothingness? No body to fight, no fear to crush, no battle to win. Just absence.”

“Not helping,” she muttered and he squeezed her hand again.

“I only mean to say that it is an understandable fear. But it is just that—a fear.”

“So, what? It doesn’t matter?”

“On the contrary. Our fears tell us much about ourselves. Fear is not a cruel force in our lives—it is trying to help us, trying to save us. Your fear is telling you something.” She frowned, but she thought she was following. More or less. “Did you not say you shot an arrow into the Breach?” She shuddered to remember the fact that it didn’t come down, but nodded. “You want something to affect. You want to be able to change things. Thus, your fear is something that you fundamentally cannot affect, cannot change.”

“Still not helping,” she said, but she wasn’t quite as sure about it this time. At least she didn’t feel like she was going crazy anymore.

“Sometimes, we need to accept that we cannot control what happens. Giving up control—or the illusion of control—is a frightening prospect. But your fear is telling you that such a thing is your particular challenge. If you can learn to accept that you cannot control all that is around you, you will, in time, come to a place where you can be at peace with your core fears.” She didn’t say anything, frowning down at the floor. Was that it? Just accept that she can’t control it? And it’d fix this hollow feeling in her?

“That easy, huh?” She muttered and he squeezed her hand until she met his eyes, surprised by the obvious sadness in his gaze.

“It is not easy at all,” he told her plainly. “But it is something you can control, in time. It will be a challenge, but afterwards, you will have conquered something that most people refuse to even face.”

“And… you think I can do it?” She couldn’t hold his gaze, her voice terribly quiet. She didn’t sound like herself. Didn’t feel like herself.

“I know you can,” he said firmly and she took a deep breath. Another. Then she nodded. If Solas believed in her, then… well, shit, that had to count for something, didn’t it?

The Conan Doyle Estate are back with their bullshit I see

"In recent years, only one other author, Anthony Horowitz, has been allowed to write a new authorised novel"

"authorised" means absolutely nothing except the Conan Doyle Estate want to tack their name onto someone else's work to try to profit from it

"Revealed: the next Sherlock Holmes author, with a twist in the tale The thriller writer Gareth Rubin focuses on Professor Moriarty, the great detective’s nemesis, in a new adventure approved by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s family"

How's focusing on Moriarty a twist, even their own 'officially authorised' author Horowitz already did that. And Kurland did that well before Horowitz did.

And I've never even heard of Gareth Rubin, is that name meant to impress me or something? At least I'd actually heard of Horowitz before.

LMAO, "family". Yeah right

So what the nonsense about the 'twist' actually means is this is something that doesn't happen in the canon which they're now trying to make out is new and radical solely because they're trying to claim it's now canonical even though in reality it's absolutely nothing to do with the canon and is just yet another pastiche. Meanwhile there are multiple other non-canonical things which have Holmes and Moriarty working together already, this is fundamentally no different to any of those.

“Gareth has drawn these characters very well, including Colonel Moran, who is key to this story,” added Pooley. “Moran was once described by Holmes as ‘the second most dangerous man in London’, and he tells half of this new mystery. As Moriarty’s right-hand man, he only crops up in a couple of original Holmes stories, I believe.”

'I believe'. They're supposed to be these expert keepers of the canon, Arthur Conan Doyle's family who are doing it for the love of him and for the stories and all that shite and yet they don't even bother to check how many stories a character appears in when doing the publicity for the new book. So yeah forgive me for being REALLY cynical about how well Moran is portrayed in this.

"“Gareth has really developed the personas and is so good at dialogue,” said Pooley, who suspects that Moran, “a young guy”, could now spawn his own series."

Why is Moran "a young guy" in this, I do not trust the reasons for this. I should be so excited about a possible series about Moran but again, given who is saying this I am so not excited at all. If you're going to make him some sort of young ~sexy~ (but heterosexual of course) action hero or something I don't want that.

"Also significant in the Holmes mythology, of course, are Sherlock’s reclusive brother Mycroft and the villainous Irene Adler"

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers 💫

i was tagged by @nv-md (ali pls why does tumblr never let me tag you what have you done) and then sort of indirectly by @fluxweeed! as always i loved reading your thoughts and i'm v grateful you thought of me. as always, this is just me talking shite for 20 answers:

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

12 revealed, but I do have my @aftgthenandnow fic currently hiding so 13 technically

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

99,518 (which my heart was immediately keen on saying it's "not that much" but all these words were written in the last year 365-ish days, which makes me very very proud)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

i'm still on my fandom whoring phase and loving it very much!!! i think it's mostly AFTG but I’ve dabbled in some Simon Snow and Check, Please! recently and have some more plans for those 🥰 honestly there is a RIDICULOUS amount of fandoms in my fic planning trello board, including: Call of Duty, The Raven Cycle, Red White and Royal Blue, BBC Merlin, and Our Flag Means Death. i love living in chaos!!!!

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

oh it's these guys: the benefits of a broken air conditioning unit and other summer lessons (aftg/andreil, 3k, E) geometric equilibrium (aftg/kandreil, 10k, M) kaleidoscope (aftg/fem!andreil, 5k, M) growing pains (omgcp/bittyparse, 50k, E) celly (aftg/gen, 800 words, T)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do! Or I try to, anyway. Why? Uhhh. Because I want to, really. I'm not one of those people who feels like they have to, especially because as a commenter I don't expect writers to ever reply. But I love chatting fandom stuff and fic — mine or otherwise, so I always treat comments as an opportunity to do so. Sometimes I think I have a super random, like... reply style, I guess you'd call it? But I'd rather engage a fellow fan in genuine conversation rather than say just "thank you," which obviously is still what I end up doing like 70% of the time.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

This is funny for me to think about because in former fandoms I was a bit of an Angst Guy lmao (mcd, unrequited love, cheating, miscommunication, you name it)... but I'm on a softer vibe now for sure. I think maybe a wreath of white lilies is my angstiest work but even that i wouldn't classify as angst? it's fucked up smut, if anything lmao

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Uhhhh, I guess growing pains? It's a very hopeful, very happy ending with a lot of closure for stuff happening both within the fic and before. So yeah! I think that one. Very romcom-y neat sort of happy ending!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

i have in the past but not anymore! i'm not good enough nor bad enough to get hate jkfgjhd

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yeah, baby!!!! what kind...? uh. good question. i feel like i always end up writing porn with a ton of feelings — not just love/lust though! but i do love a Strong Emotion (hatred, grief, confusion, relief, obsession) to be the catalyst for fucking. I like it when characters are seriously into each other (again, not necessarily only in an attraction way), in a little insane way. it just makes things fun. so i guess... my smut is the Big Feelings kind of smut lol

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

oh i haven't... but i do have a bit of a wild one i've considered! not sure if i'd ever actually write it though, but it's planned out.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

in an earlier fandom existence, yes! it may even be around still, who knows? now... not that i know of?

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

i don't think i have! would love it though! i grew up bilingual so i have a lot of love for translation :') i'd actually love to try my hand at translating one day!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

i have started co-writing fics with a couple of people before, but not something super serious and either times it never got finished. buuuuut i am actually in the process of co-writing not one but two fics atm! @skeptiquewrites and i are working on a zimbits flavoured little something, and @whataboutmyfries and i are very nearly done with our kandreil get-together fic, which is really exciting.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

hate this question actually LMAO i am a multishipper at heart. a good fic can convince me of ANYTHING. like my favourite ship when i stopped writing hp was two guys who weren't ever even alive at the same time so???? anything goes truly.

for the sake of nostalgia, it might still be remus/sirius, because they were my introduction to fandom and all its joys! but that fandom is kind of tainted these days >:(

hmmmm. probably zimbits actually? they invented true love, i think.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

hahaha so many!!! i have a catholic priest Neil fic that is a very fun idea but requires a ton of lore because it's so removed from canon... the kink is juicy but the laziness might be stronger. we shall see.

16. What are your writing strengths?

descriptions, baby!!!!! details!!! i want to say characterisation but i don't think that's always true... i just love thinking very deeply about the details of characterisation.. the little seemingly unimportant tidbits you can add in about a character that just tell you a ton about them without you having to spell it all out! i find that fun, even if it doesn't always work lol

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

dialogue... i hate it... i simply do not know how people talk... i don't know why they have to either LOL top ten most mortifying moments of my life was when a pal was beta reading a fic for me and said "hey there's no dialogue in this for the first like 5k at all... maybe we should do something about that" rip

i am also very bad at ensemble casts... while the weakness above is something i can't avoid, this one is a lot more avoidable but also something i am actively working on. i feel like my fics are very closed in on my MCs and their relationship but as a reader i love when the characters have meaningful interactions outside of that... so i'm trying to get better at that, even if it's really fucking hard. i'm lucky enough to have a couple of pals who are INCREDIBLE at this so i'm taking notes all the time.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

big fan!!!! i love all methods of doing this too! add it in and provide translation at the end, weave the translation into the text, make the character themselves translate it, etc. i think it's great! i think i've done it maybe a couple of times but should definitely do more...

19. First fandom you wrote for?

you already know what i'm gonna say... HP. i am of that specific generation and i'm just gonna have to live with that lol

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

hate this question hate it hate it hate itttttt do you mean favourite as in favourite final result, or favourite writing experience, or favourite prose, or favourite plot, or favourite characterisation, etc etc etc? i have a lot of love for growing pains, which i've already mentioned a couple times; and also for geometric equilibrium. for funsies, i'll say do not disturb the cats because i just love when an idea possesses me and i can't do anything else until i've written it LOL but yeah "favourite" is hard, sorry

hi um! I have questions bc your AUs have grabbed me in the brain and are shaking me very aggressively and I doubt they will let go any time soon (/pos)

Does lunar moon have a weapon of choice? (Would she even use a weapon?) Like, would she prefer close or far range, blunt or sharp, stuff like that? If given a large selection of various weapons would she take a bat or frying pan over a sword or dagger? Would they even have guns or bows? Rope dart maybe? Very curious about that (actually this goes for everyone in that au not just moon I am so curious about this)

Does the eclipse au have a conclusive storyline yet (in the sense of "this happens at this time, which happens before and after these other events")? And how do you plan to tell it (comic, writing, answering questions that apply to lore, vague ramblings that we need to decipher ourselves?), if at all?

Mmm talking time!

Weapon of choice,,, hmm, at first I was thinking close range cuz watching enemies (or Suns lmao) suffer from close distance is “Yippe” buut! Idk I’m starting to think she might like far range. I’ve been thinking about that for a while, trying to wrap my head around it. So if anything maybe a dagger?? OR maybe a katana?? Listen I’m horrible with weapons I’m not the right person for that XD For the others, I haven’t thought of it much either so I’m brain dead on that question to say the least.

For the other question I’m not brain dead XD

The Eclipse Au does have a conclusive storyline, but it’s not order depending on what the person is asking about it, but other then that yeah! My planing for how everything goes is completely random. Sometimes I already know what is going to happen and sometimes a I come up with stuff on the spot XD it’s just how I operate.

I probably need to take notes before I forget something completely cuz everything right now is in my head unorganized XD. Comics require some thinking, I like to write down what characters will say first before I even start drawing anything, and make edits as I move along. Ramblings will just be me being silly and coming up with random shite.

If anything to put it simply, I let my creativity answer the questions and I edit it to make more sense.
